Celador Films was originally formed in 1983 as an independent production company owned by Complete Communications. It was later sold to Dutch group 2waytraffic along with the rights to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?. Celador produces films and television shows on a project-by-project basis, employing freelance staff and obtaining funding from various sources. Notable Celador productions include Dirty Pretty Things, Separate Lies, The Descent, and Slumdog Millionaire, which they co-funded. Though small, Celador has enjoyed independent success in Britain and is now one of the country's most renowned studios.

• Celador are very small and have only released 7 films in 10
years. However they have enjoyed good independent
success and are now one of British Film’s most renowned
studio.
• Film 4 Productions have made many more products than
Celador, which gives them a slight upper-hand.
• Sony Pictures Entertainment are very different from
Celador, as they are a huge Hollywood studio, who make
big-budget movies (such as Spiderman). They also aim for a
wider, international audience, and make much more
money.
• Celador still remains relevant and successful in
independent cinema (particularly British), because of the
quality they have, and the varying types of genres they can
delve into as they hire freelance directors.
