• Celador is a global light entertainment company which was
originally formed as an independent production company
in back in 1983.
• Celador was originally taken over by Complete
Communications, which bought out shareholders including
Paul Smith CBE and a man called jasper carrot.
• This was around the same time as the sell off of Celador
International.
• Under the ownership of Complete, Celador expanded its
fledgling radio, film and international businesses.
• Celador now owns eighteen UK radio stations as at March
2013.
3. Operating Model
• Small independent production companies in this
country such as Celador Films have a number of
strategies they use to raise the money they do that
enables them to make films.
• These companies usually have a set budget which they
must follow in production. The money they raise can
come from absolutely anywhere.
• The company might fund a project by selling the
project to a distributor before it’s even been made.
• Companies will often do a deal with a big production
company - in return for a fee from the big company

number of products. They create products ranging
from; Films, TV Shows and even Radio stations.

Descent Part Two (2009), The Scouting Book For Boys
(2010)
• TV Shows: You are what you eat, Talking telephone
numbers and Who wants to be a millionaire and many
more.
• Radio: The Breeze and Jack FM

• Celador films are a successful but fairly small-scale
production company- they've released seven films in
ten years.
• Celador has many competitors such as:
• DNA Films which has been one of the most successful
production companies that is located in the united
kingdom.
• Film4 productions which is a British production
company owned by channel four television
corporation.
• Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc is the American
television and film production.
