2. INTRODUCTION
The film industry will look to spend a lot of money and
also a large amount of time testing new movies on
their target audience. They will do this in order to
know exactly who their target audience is and their
specific age group so that they can use the right
marketing products in order to promote the movie. By
using audience research people within the film industry
will be able to gather data on the audience such as;
their age group, their gender etc. Film industry's will
also look to do test screenings in order to gain
feedback from the audience so that they know what
went well and what they can change from the
audiences perspective before releasing the final one.
3. AUDIENCE
The target audience for our teaser
trailer was 14-20 year old's and
mostly aimed at females. We had
this target audience because
after we did research into similar
movies such as mean girls, 16
wishes etc. the type of audience
that these movies had we
decided that our teaser trailer
would have a similar
audience. As you can see from
the film 'The Girl Next Door' its
genre was Romance/Drama
which is similar to ours which is
why we chose to use this to take
information from. The amount of
females that watched it were 77%
and the amount of males were
23%. This then shows us that this
genre has more female watchers
than male and this is then why
we decided our target audience
was going to be females.
4. FEEDBACK
As a group we needed to gather feedback on our teaser trailer so that we could make
necessary changes. We did this by showing two screenings, one being the rough cut
screening and the second one being the final teaser trailer screening.
Rough Cut Screening –
From this we gathered feedback from the audience such as changing the audio at the start of
the trailer. We also were still yet to finish the audio so this was an obvious target for us.
Something else that was mentioned in the feedback comments was that we needed to add
the voiceover on top of the other audio as some of the audio was silent as at this point we
hadn't finished the trailer.
Final Feedback -
Once we showed our final teaser trailer that had been uploaded to YouTube we received
comments from the audience. All the feedback was positive and we didn’t have any
comments on things that we could improve on which shows us that we created the best
possible teaser trailer that we could.
The two feedback comments from both the final screening and the rough cut are shown on
the next slide.

6. FEEDBACK
We used the feedback that we received to our
advantage and completed all the things that we were
told to improve in order for our final teaser trailer to
be the best that it possibly could for when we had the
final screening. Without the feedback that we received
we probably wouldn’t have thought of some of the
editing techniques for example when the protagonist
was day dreaming about her crush. I personally think
that the feedback was very important in order of our
final product to be successful.
Here is an example of the editing techniques that we
probably would have struggled to think of if it wasn’t
for the audience feedback.
