1. General Function:
A supervisory position for a Knowledge Professional focusing in the functional areas
of System Analysis as needed by the Information Technology Services Department
in delivering service and support to clients.
Focuses on a variety of technical and analysis work required for the development of
user and system requirements. This involvement will lead to the designing,
programming, testing, installation and maintenance of College systems.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and implements policies and procedures related to information systems
hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
2. Overseas operations and processes relating to mission critical systems.
3. Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware,
and operations problems.
4. Coordinates the planning, installation, testing and maintenance of
equipment/products, and the development and implementation of disaster/recovery
procedures.
5. Provides extensive vendor management. Assists in negotiation and coordinating
activities of, hardware, software, telecommunications, and support vendors.
6. Meets with users to determine quality of service and makes necessary
adjustments to accommodate their needs.
7. Coordinates unit’s activities to ensure a smooth flow of operations by setting
priorities, establishing goals, and assisting in the development and implementation
of internal policies and procedures.
8. Plans and schedules human and technology resources.
9. Supervise staff for unit, including hiring, termination, training and evaluation
decisions.
10. Assists in development of long-term strategies for growth and maintenance of
department resources.
11. Makes budgetary recommendations to upper management, and monitors
expenditures against approved budget.
12. Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment and/or
systems. Researches and evaluates new technologies.
13. Performs as back-up for Executive Director as needed.

directing professional and support staff within assigned area.
2. Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field; 4 to 6 years
of experience ininformation technology, and industry specific certification; supervisory
experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Depending on the operational needs of the department, expert understanding in the
following areas:
• Windows Workstation and Server
• Hardware and software support
• Workstation operating systems, Windows, Macintosh, and others
• Local Area Network (LAN) fundamentals and remote access troubleshooting,
including network interface connection and user installation
• Network topologies
• LAN administration, servers and network architecture
•Voice communications equipment
• Commonly used software systems such as Microsoft
Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Publisher, Outlook, Visio and Project)
• Third-party systems accessed via desktop client or web-based interface
• Internet technologies
Expert ability in operating, installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting a
variety of highly technical computers, local and wide area network equipment,
