Many athletes are superstitious, or go through the same series of progressions or habits before
competition, because they believe it gives them luck or a better chance to perform optimally.
Some of these habits, may include praying. The act of praying is a way for an athlete to think
they can attain an edge, so they can compete better. During my time as an intern with Fordham
Athletics, I was given many opportunities to spend time with athletes from a variety of sports. My
interactions with these athletes, as well as my own experience as a college athlete who prayed
before competitions, triggered my interest in the relationship between prayer, and athletic
performance. Does prayer before competition affect the overall performance of an athlete? In this

There has been scarce documentation covering the effects of religion on athletic performance.

I found that the VOC free paint though more expensive still worked as regular paint would.
Another downfall to buying the VOC free paint was there wasn t as many color options because
VOC free paint is not as popular as regular paint so this made my project more challenging in
finding the right colors and being able to mix them. Whereas if it was just regular acrylic paint I
would be able to buy just the regular colors without having to mix as much as the VOC free
paint. So all in all the VOC free paint did its job not polluting the environment but it was more
expensive than regular acrylic paint. And acrylic paint by itself is already expensive, so I would
not recommend buying VOC acrylic paint to just use and instead use an air purifier that way you re

favorites, the class was informative and instructive. I have found that journaling what I am

Urbanization is the defining phenomenon of the 21st century. For the first time in history, more
than half the world s population lives in cities, with 90 percent of urban growth taking place in the
developing world. Increasing population growth in the existing urban areas and rapid urbanisation
is leading to need for increased land area to accommodate the growing population. Rapid
urbanization is turning villages are into towns, towns into big cities and cities in to metropolitan
cities. This is leading to various emerging challenges that urban areas today have to address like
inadequate housing, inefficient physical infrastructure like water, sanitation, transport, inadequate
social infrastructure like education and health, spiralling construction costs and land prices.
Therefore the critical planning is required for all the necessary inputs including the infrastructure,
social amenities and land. It is projected that over the next 20 years, India is going to witness
nearly 2 billion additional urban population in the existing urban areas, while one billion already
live in slums. However, only by efficient planning and management can rapidly growing cities be
able to harness this potential, accommodate new urban dwellers, and adequately deliver basic

In preparing for the AMLE 2015 National Conference my intent was to get inspiration, and to find
something I could use in class and also share with co teachers
I m in a unique position in that I teach at an online school, ECOT, and much of what is presented
at conferences applies well to a brick and mortar school, but needs adaptation to work for my
classroom and my students. I knew finding information to meet my classroom requirements might

place that did not have many big bodies of water which made it hard to really appreciate what
