Duration of the Exam

3. XAT is conducted online this year. Online
partners are SIFY Technologies.
Reporting time for Candidates is 8:45am(IST)
Total duration of the test is 210 minutes (3.5
hours).
Part A is 170 minutes
Part B (GK & Essay) is 40 minutes
Essay is also online. Students are required to
type the essay.
4. Introduce yourself to the Sify Personnel as XLRI
observer.
Check the server room.
Check the functioning of CCTVs and the
biometric devices.
Kindly check the arrangements for :
1. Only the visually impaired candidates will
be provided an extra time. Part A : 20
minutes and Part B : 5 minutes. These
candidates will bring their own scribe.
2. Physically challenged candidates (No extra time
will be provided).
5. THE DURATION OF THE TEST IS OF 3.5 HOURS
8:45 AM: Allow the candidates to enter.
9.30 AM: Till 9.30 the candidates will be allowed.
9.45 AM: Demo Exam
10:00 AM: Part A begins (announcement by SIFY
Personnel)
12:50 PM: Objective Exam ends.
12:50 PM: Part B begins (announcement by SIFY
Personnel)
01:30 PM: Part B ends
6. Please be present by 8:30am
Synchronize your watch with SIFY Personnel.
All announcements will be done by the SIFY
Personnel.
We will have one invigilator for every 24
candidates. (this can vary, be
accommodative).
7. Candidates are allowed to carry only their admit card
with their recent passport size photograph pated on it.
After verification of the ID, candidates will sign in the
space provided in the presence of the invigilator.
Invigilators will collect the admit card.
XLRI Observer kindly collect the admit cards from
invigilator/SIFY Personnel.
Kindly carry your ID proof along with the authorization
letter to the XAT Centre.
SMS the Present and Absent of your Centre with the
Centre Name and Place.
8. Some of the Prohibited Items, such as
watches, books, pens, paper chits,
magazines, electronic gadgets(mobile
phones, Bluetooth devices, head phones,
pen/buttonhole cameras, scanner, calculator,
storage devices etc.) are
STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED
in the examination lab.
9. Pen/Pencil and paper for rough work will be
provided in the examination lab.
Electronic watch will be available on the
computer screen allotted to the candidates.
Candidates are advised to strictly adhere to
the reporting time mentioned in their Admit
card.
No entry under any circumstances would be
allowed after the entry closing time.
Entry closing time is 9.30 AM
