What is NATA? What are the eligibility criteria for NATA?
• NATA stands for ‘National AptitudeTest in Architecture’. It is a national level examination for admission to
undergraduate courses in Architecture.
• Candidates satisfying below qualifications are only allowed to appear for NATA, 2019:
• 1. who have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level examination
• 2. as well as a minimum of 50% marks in Physics,Chemistry & Mathematics each
• Those who are appearing in 10+2 exam with P.C.M. subjects in the current year may also provisionally appear
in the exam. However, their result in NATA-2019 will be declared valid subject to fulfilling the above criteria

How many tests can one candidate take?
• Each candidate has the feasibility to appear twice in the NATA test.
• In case a candidate appears in both tests, the highest marks obtained in either of the two examinations
would be considered as final marks at the time of admission at various institutions.
• The first test will be conducted on 14th of April 2019 and the Second test will be conducted on 7th of July
2019 at the respected allotted centers.

What is the payable fee for NATA test?
• Candidates appearing for the first/second test are supposed to pay Rs.1800/- (inclusive of bank charges).
• Candidates appearing for both the first & second test are supposed to pay Rs.3500/- (inclusive of bank charges).
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST category
• For the first/second test is supposed to pay Rs.1500/- (inclusive of bank charges).
• For both the first & second test is supposed to pay Rs.2800/- (inclusive of bank charges).
• Candidates opting to appear from test centers outside the territory of India
• For the first/second test is supposed to pay Rs.10,000/- (inclusive of bank charges).
• For both the first & second test is supposed to pay Rs.18,000/- (inclusive of bank charges).

Is NATA test fee refundable?
• NATA test carries 200 marks, comprising of:
• A) Part-A It consists of Mathematics section (MCQ) – carrying 40 marks each and General
Aptitude (MCQ) – carrying 80 marks each.
• B) Part-B It consists of Drawing Paper carrying 80 marks.

What are the total marks for the exam?
• No, once the fee is paid it cannot be adjusted or refunded under any circumstances.
Where can candidates take the test?Where are the
details about theTest Centre available?

• As per candidates feasibility, they are allowed to choose test center locations and cities during
the filling of online application form. However, it is the discretion of the Council to allocate the
examination center for smooth conduct of the test.
• Each candidate is provided with the Admit Card for the NATA test.Test center details are
mentioned in the Admit Card itself.
• Admit card shall be downloaded from NATA website from 1st of April onwards for the first
test and 24th of June onwards for the second test.
Is it possible for the candidates to change theirTest Centre?
• No. Once theTest Centre is allotted, candidates do not have the feasibility for any change in
Test Centre.
What all should candidate carry to the exam hall for the
drawing test?

• Candidates must carry with them the following:
• Downloaded admit card of NATA 2019.
• Original proof of identity – aadhar/ passport/ driving license/ voter id.
• Pen, pencils, eraser, color pencils (no water/oil color or crayon). Instruments of any kind
including scale are not permitted.
• Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, calculators, slide rules, log tables, electronic watches with
facilities of calculator are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Possession of such items
during the examinations may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Any candidate found carrying any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any
other material will be debarred from appearing the examination.
What is the reporting time to theTest Center?

At what time the candidate must report at the examination center?
• At theTest Centre registration process involves verifying the identity of the candidate through
taking the biometrics and a webcam photo before allotment of the seat. Hence candidates are
suggested to report 2.5 hours before the examination.
• Candidates must report to their respectiveTest Centre by 8:00 AM.
• None candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the exam starts i.e. 10:00 AM.
What is the syllabus for NATATest?

Are candidates allowed to leave the examination hall as soon as they finish the test?
• Once entering the examination hall candidates are supposed to be seated until the duration of
exam ends i.e. From 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM.
The NATA test (total 200 marks) comprises of:
• 1. Mathematics – 20 questions for 40 marks in MCQ format,
• 2. General Aptitude – 40 questions for 80 marks in MCQ format and
• 3. DrawingTest – 2 questions for 80 marks using pen & pencil for sketching
Documents required for NATATest Registration?

Which test’s score will be considered as final if the candidate attempt both
the first and second test?
Candidates appearing in both first and second tests, highest scored marks will be considered for
score generation. In other cases, only one test score shall be considered.
1. Recent Passport size Photograph in Color
2. Own Signature Documents have to be in jpg/jpeg format.
After submission of the application, can candidate change their personal details?

Can the candidate choose one city for the first test and another city for the
second test?
The candidate has to select 3 different choices of test centre for each test. It may be different or
the same for both the first and second test.
A Candidate can correct the information only once, such as spelling in names, any figures in
numerical data, i.e. day, month, year, etc. Hence, the candidate is advised to check all details
thoroughly before submitting the application form online.
Does PWD/ Divyang candidate get extra time for the test?

Who does the allotment of seats to Architectural Institutions? Is it NATA
or Council ofArchitecture?
Admissions in the institutions are held by the administrative governing body i.e. University/ Director of
Technical Education/ Campus Counseling. No other organization is responsible for making decisions
regarding admissions.
NATA is only responsible for conducting aptitude test and providing scorecards for admission purpose
while the Council of Architecture (COA) plays a role only in governing the architectural/ architecture
educational practices.
Admit Card can be downloaded the desired number of times as per the candidates.
How can a candidate get admission in B.Arch. course post qualifying NATA?

• After qualifying NATA, candidates need to apply on the basis of their scorecards to various
institutions. Further admissions in the respective institutions are held by the governing body/
bodies as per their councils.
• Each Institution has its own qualifying score range which varies every year.
• P.S. before applying to any Institution candidate/ guardian of the candidate must ensure whether
it’s under the approval of Council of Architecture for imparting 5-year Bachelors in Architecture
degree program.
How much weightage is given to the marks obtained in NATATest and marks
obtained in Qualifying 10+2 Examination?

• The institution may give 50% weightage to the marks obtained in NATATest and 50% weightage
to the marks obtained in qualifying 10 + 2, as per the Council Norms.
What are the minimum prescribed marks for passing in NATA?

• To qualify in NATA-2019 candidate must satisfy all three conditions mentioned below:
• minimum of 25% in MCQ portion (30 out of 120) is mandatory for qualifying.
• minimum of 25% in Drawing portion (20 out of 80) is mandatory for qualifying.
• Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on the preference of the Council with respect
to post exam statistics

• The Council of Architecture is a body corporate by the Government of India under the ArchitectsAct,
1972 (enacted by the Indian Parliament) which impart architectural education in India leading to
recognized qualifications in the country.
• The Council registers qualified individuals as Architects and also monitors their professional conduct,
etiquette.

  • 2. What is NATA? What are the eligibility criteria for NATA? • NATA stands for ‘National AptitudeTest in Architecture’. It is a national level examination for admission to undergraduate courses in Architecture. • Candidates satisfying below qualifications are only allowed to appear for NATA, 2019: • 1. who have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at 10+2 level examination • 2. as well as a minimum of 50% marks in Physics,Chemistry & Mathematics each • Those who are appearing in 10+2 exam with P.C.M. subjects in the current year may also provisionally appear in the exam. However, their result in NATA-2019 will be declared valid subject to fulfilling the above criteria 2 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in

How many tests can one candidate take? • Each candidate has the feasibility to appear twice in the NATA test. • In case a candidate appears in both tests, the highest marks obtained in either of the two examinations would be considered as final marks at the time of admission at various institutions. • The first test will be conducted on 14th of April 2019 and the Second test will be conducted on 7th of July 2019 at the respected allotted centers. 3 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in

What is the payable fee for NATA test? • Candidates appearing for the first/second test are supposed to pay Rs.1800/- (inclusive of bank charges). • Candidates appearing for both the first & second test are supposed to pay Rs.3500/- (inclusive of bank charges). • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category • For the first/second test is supposed to pay Rs.1500/- (inclusive of bank charges). • For both the first & second test is supposed to pay Rs.2800/- (inclusive of bank charges). • Candidates opting to appear from test centers outside the territory of India • For the first/second test is supposed to pay Rs.10,000/- (inclusive of bank charges). • For both the first & second test is supposed to pay Rs.18,000/- (inclusive of bank charges). 4 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in

Is NATA test fee refundable? • NATA test carries 200 marks, comprising of: • A) Part-A It consists of Mathematics section (MCQ) – carrying 40 marks each and General Aptitude (MCQ) – carrying 80 marks each. • B) Part-B It consists of Drawing Paper carrying 80 marks. 5 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in What are the total marks for the exam? • No, once the fee is paid it cannot be adjusted or refunded under any circumstances.
  • 6. Where can candidates take the test?Where are the details about theTest Centre available? 6 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • As per candidates feasibility, they are allowed to choose test center locations and cities during the filling of online application form. However, it is the discretion of the Council to allocate the examination center for smooth conduct of the test. • Each candidate is provided with the Admit Card for the NATA test.Test center details are mentioned in the Admit Card itself. • Admit card shall be downloaded from NATA website from 1st of April onwards for the first test and 24th of June onwards for the second test. Is it possible for the candidates to change theirTest Centre? • No. Once theTest Centre is allotted, candidates do not have the feasibility for any change in Test Centre.

What all should candidate carry to the exam hall for the drawing test? 7 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • Candidates must carry with them the following: • Downloaded admit card of NATA 2019. • Original proof of identity – aadhar/ passport/ driving license/ voter id. • Pen, pencils, eraser, color pencils (no water/oil color or crayon). Instruments of any kind including scale are not permitted. • Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, calculators, slide rules, log tables, electronic watches with facilities of calculator are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Possession of such items during the examinations may lead to cancellation of candidature. • Any candidate found carrying any textual material, printed or written, bits of papers or any other material will be debarred from appearing the examination.
  • 8. What is the reporting time to theTest Center? 8 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in At what time the candidate must report at the examination center? • At theTest Centre registration process involves verifying the identity of the candidate through taking the biometrics and a webcam photo before allotment of the seat. Hence candidates are suggested to report 2.5 hours before the examination. • Candidates must report to their respectiveTest Centre by 8:00 AM. • None candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the exam starts i.e. 10:00 AM.

What is the syllabus for NATATest? 9 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in Are candidates allowed to leave the examination hall as soon as they finish the test? • Once entering the examination hall candidates are supposed to be seated until the duration of exam ends i.e. From 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM. The NATA test (total 200 marks) comprises of: • 1. Mathematics – 20 questions for 40 marks in MCQ format, • 2. General Aptitude – 40 questions for 80 marks in MCQ format and • 3. DrawingTest – 2 questions for 80 marks using pen & pencil for sketching
  • 10. Documents required for NATATest Registration? 10 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in Which test’s score will be considered as final if the candidate attempt both the first and second test? Candidates appearing in both first and second tests, highest scored marks will be considered for score generation. In other cases, only one test score shall be considered. 1. Recent Passport size Photograph in Color 2. Own Signature Documents have to be in jpg/jpeg format.

After submission of the application, can candidate change their personal details? 11 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in Can the candidate choose one city for the first test and another city for the second test? The candidate has to select 3 different choices of test centre for each test. It may be different or the same for both the first and second test. A Candidate can correct the information only once, such as spelling in names, any figures in numerical data, i.e. day, month, year, etc. Hence, the candidate is advised to check all details thoroughly before submitting the application form online.
  • 12. Does PWD/ Divyang candidate get extra time for the test? 12 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in Who does the allotment of seats to Architectural Institutions? Is it NATA or Council ofArchitecture? Admissions in the institutions are held by the administrative governing body i.e. University/ Director of Technical Education/ Campus Counseling. No other organization is responsible for making decisions regarding admissions. NATA is only responsible for conducting aptitude test and providing scorecards for admission purpose while the Council of Architecture (COA) plays a role only in governing the architectural/ architecture educational practices. Admit Card can be downloaded the desired number of times as per the candidates.
  • 13. How can a candidate get admission in B.Arch. course post qualifying NATA? 13 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • After qualifying NATA, candidates need to apply on the basis of their scorecards to various institutions. Further admissions in the respective institutions are held by the governing body/ bodies as per their councils. • Each Institution has its own qualifying score range which varies every year. • P.S. before applying to any Institution candidate/ guardian of the candidate must ensure whether it’s under the approval of Council of Architecture for imparting 5-year Bachelors in Architecture degree program.

How much weightage is given to the marks obtained in NATATest and marks obtained in Qualifying 10+2 Examination? 14 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • The institution may give 50% weightage to the marks obtained in NATATest and 50% weightage to the marks obtained in qualifying 10 + 2, as per the Council Norms.

What are the minimum prescribed marks for passing in NATA? 15 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • To qualify in NATA-2019 candidate must satisfy all three conditions mentioned below: • minimum of 25% in MCQ portion (30 out of 120) is mandatory for qualifying. • minimum of 25% in Drawing portion (20 out of 80) is mandatory for qualifying. • Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on the preference of the Council with respect to post exam statistics

What is the Council of Architecture? 16 Visit : www.thefuturist.co.in • The Council of Architecture is a body corporate by the Government of India under the ArchitectsAct, 1972 (enacted by the Indian Parliament) which impart architectural education in India leading to recognized qualifications in the country. • The Council registers qualified individuals as Architects and also monitors their professional conduct, etiquette.
