Defining Love In Sir Thomas Wyatt And Samuel Daniels
Sir Thomas Wyatt and Samuel Daniels have sonnets in which the speaker is attempting to define love.
With one speaker stating his daily life and the other expressing the feeling through paradoxes, both
ultimately end up with poems that are not conventionally good love poems. I allege that the reason
they cannot effectively define love is that they do not truly understand it because their own egos blind
them from it. The scope of both sonnets is restricted to simply the speakers focus and they spend all
fourteen lines saying things of little consequence. Rather than getting across the point that they are in
love, they are showing their disillusionment in regards to what love is because they are so self
centered and thus inadept at writing poetry. I aim to reveal that these sonnets reveal more about the
speakers than about love through their choice of rhyme scheme, rhetorical devices, meter, and
repetition.
The speakers use different rhyme schemes. I find no peace is a Petrarchan sonnet and If this be love is
a Shakespearean sonnet. While not actually flouting the conventional patterns, the speakers use diction
that hardly allows the sonnets to be easily identified by their rhyme schemes. In the first and fourth
lines of I find no peace, for example, the speaker seems to rhyme done with on (Wyatt ll. 1, 4). Instead
of altering the word choice to better fit the Petrarchan rhyme scheme, the speaker writes in the only
diction he can think of. Wyatt s speaker is so focused on himself and his paradoxical experience of
love that he fails to create an effective sonnet.
We see a similar disregard for the standard form by Daniel s speaker. The rhyme scheme of a
Shakespearean sonnet is there, though not obviously with the speaker attempting to rhyme thoughts
and notes in the last quatrain (Daniel ll. 9, 11). I believe the weakness in the overall rhyme scheme
implies that the speaker is careless of tradition. This loose rhyming shows a lack of regard for the form
the speaker is attempting to emulate, further emphasizing the possibility that his goal has not been to
define love but to prove to others, and himself, that he is in love.
Wyatt s speaker describes love primarily by using paradoxes. However, he

The Most Memorable Moment In My Life
We all have moments that impact our lives whether it is good or bad. Some gives us lesson and others
make us the happiest person alive. Whichever it is those moments makes us grow and learn or makes
us be proud of ourselves. I chose to pick memorable moments that really change my life for the best
which as we speak it has been the one of my proudest moments. It all started when I was just a senior
in James Pace High School which is located in Brownsville, Texas. I was just beginning my last year
of high school, and I needed to think about what I wanted to do after high school. Usually, in high
school the teacher start to tell you to apply to colleges and scholarships which I wasn t all there for

The last meet was the best one for me because my former coaches saw that I improve a lot that I got a
plaque called Honorable Mention which only one student gets that. I was crying tears of joy because
at least I was noticed by them of my hard work, so it was a huge accomplishment for my senior year. I
finished the season with a great finish which I couldn t prouder of myself. Since that ended , it was
now time for track season which I was so excited about also even though I knew it was harder than
cross country. It was off season at the moment it was December we were practicing already to get
ahead of everyone. I would run mile repeats and ran 800 meters which were my main events to run in
track. I would practice daily morning and afternoon because I was a senior and one of their good
runners they expect for me to be running a lot more than the rest of the team. Later on, it was the
actually season therefore it was time to be more serious than usual. I want to make an impression to
my former coach, so he can help me out with getting scholarship. Every meet I know I need to give it
my all which I did that it made realize that hard work and dedication did paid off. In area, I had my
personal best which I was excited to know that I finished the year like that. I later discover that I got
an email from William Penn University which I got more excited because I will have the chance to
continue running which I am passion about it. I was doing all the

The 1968 Presidential Campaign
Life Magazine 1968
The editorial section of Life Magazine devoted a lot of its writing to the 1968 Presidential campaign.
Early on it seems that it will be Richard Nixon running against President Johnson. Only Richard
Nixon and George Romney started out running in the primaries, suggesting that this seriously
underrepresented the Republicans. However, if he were to run, Nelson Rockefeller was believed to be
the republican most likely to beat Johnson. By the end on the first quarter the emergence of Nelson
Rockefeller, Robert Kennedy, and Eugene McCarthy brings new animation to the race.
At the beginning of the second quarter Johnson has declared that he will not seek a second term as
President opening up the chance for Vice President Humphrey to throw his hat into the ring. This
alters the scheme for those campaigning as they can no longer claim that anyone but Johnson would
do a better job. After the Assassination of Robert Kennedy and the continual premature writing off of
McCarthy it appears that by the end of the second quarter it will be ... Show more content on

The Presidential election did little to combat this uneasiness that the public felt for its government.
While the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy caused many people to
become disheartened. Poverty was a major issue within the African American community in major
cities across the country. A growing number of minorities were fighting and dying in Vietnam while
their families struggled to purchase or rent homes in certain residential areas. The Fair Housing Act
passed in April of 1968 was just one small step to bring equality to minorities. Along with the starting

Child Care Center Has Work On Their Fine Motor Skills
Children in the child care center also work on their fine motor skills. I observed how they often draw
pictures of themselves or of something they really like. For example, of flowers, animals or a favorite
cartoon character they really like. The teacher help children to perfect this fine skills by learning how
to make cupcakes and cookies. This helps the child identify that sugar and chocolate chip cookies
need to be added to the mixture and all the ingredients need to be mixed together in order to create the
recipe. The textbook mentions that between the ages of 4 and 5 a child develops this skills by using
scissors correctly following the line, and drawing simple figures. (Beck 309). Parents can also work
with their children to perfect this skills. For example, they can show their children how to use the
correct kitchen utensils or come up with creative arts and crafts that a child might enjoy depending on
their interest. For instance, when I was around 4 years old my mom tells me a story about how when I
was younger she and I would do arts and crafts together. We had the tradition of always decorating for
the holidays especially for Halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas, She commented that decorating
crafts was always exciting for me because I had the ability to use my imagination and creativity. She
also said that my favorite part of decorating was painting the crafts because I had the ability to
combine colors together to make the arts look great. One of the most

imagine going through a day without the use of electricity? The discovery of electricity had changed
how this planet functions .Electricity was first discovered around 600 B.C by the ancient Greece by
rubbing amber and fur to create static electricity. A lot of people contributed to the discover of
electricity including William Gilbert, Benjamin Franklin, and many more. Benjamin Franklin

The Fountain Of Youth Research Paper
Stories have been passed down from generation to generation since the dawn of time. Stories were
often passed down for a purpose, whether it was to bring joy or hope to a person, or to teach an
important lesson. Folktales date far back and are no exception. Folktales reflect physical, emotional,
and social survival, while the characters experiences help to teach important life lessons.
Physical survival was one of the types of survival folktales show throughout the stories. In The
Fountain of Youth a group of Hispanic men must try to find a magical fountain that will turn them
young again and help them cheat death (Marcatante, The Fountain of Youth 95). Due to the fact the
men did not find the fountain of youth they will not become young ... Show more content on

In Johnny Appleseed s Secret the family knowing the British were coming would have upset them and
caused stress and worry (Marcatante, Johnny Appleseed s Secret 46). After Johnny told the family that
the British were coming they became worried and frightened because the British were their enemies
and could steal from them or even kill them. A lesson that can be learned from this is if people have
the ability to help someone, then they should do it. Johnny walked two hundred miles to warn the
settlers that the British were on their way. People often do not go out of their way to help each other
and that should change. The First Tears is a second example of a folktale that demonstrates emotional
survival. As he spoke, water began to flow from the eyes of Woman and Son, and they cried with
Man. In this way people first learned to weep (Schlosser, The First Tears ). Man, Woman, and Son
cried for the first time displaying the emotions of sadness and disappointment. A moral that can be
taken from The First Tears is success does not always come at first, but do not give up. Man had to
cope with his disappointment in order to try again. When a person fails at something it is tempting to
give up. People need to persevere through challenges in order to be successful. There are many
folktales that display emotional survival, Johnny Appleseed s Secret and The First Tears are only

The Church Of Liberalism By Ann Coulter

James Holland Michael Martin
Government Politics in the US
4/30/15
Ramblings of the Ill informed
In Godless: The Church of Liberalism, published by Three Rivers Press in 2007, author Ann Coulter
argues that liberalism has become a religion despite liberals rejecting god and religion. On the first
page Coulter writes, Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles . . .
its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation
of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is
generally known as a religion. Coulter attempts to draw many parallels between liberals and religious
people in the beginning of the book. Coulter then gets into the ideologies that the liberal religion
possesses in the chapters to follow. This includes Coulter s assertion that liberals love violent
criminals, but hate fetuses because all liberals oppose the death penalty and support abortions. Coulter
s overgeneralizations continue when she rants and yells about the liberal media s adoration for
educators and how teachers are the saints for leftists and schools are like churches of socialism. Then
Coulter states that educators are indoctrinating students with false beliefs in evolution and turning
children away from Christianity. Finally, Coulter attempts to disprove evolution a very small amount
understanding of what evolution really is. In Godless: The

depicts the transition of how China s political and cultural changes throughout time.
Identifying Information Jiang yingwen is a painter, poet and artist who is born on July 19th 1895 in
Shanghai, China. Went to Japan and studied art in 1919, returned in 1923. He was married when he is

Devil May Cry
The above page is from the first issue of a comic book called Devil May Cry Book One: Evil Woman.
The Devil May Cry comic books are loosely based on the video game of the same title. It follows a
character named Dante who is the son of a demon named Sparda. Sparda fought against the evil
demon king, named Mundas who wanted to take over the human world. 2,000 years after the two
demons fought, we follow Dante. He is a mercenary for hire who takes on cases that interest him,
despite the pay that he may or may not get. This page is Dante s first encounter with Trish; I will be
doing a visual analysis of this page. Just quickly looking at this page, something that stands out is the
art style. While many comic books often do more of cell shading, this comic book goes for more of a
realistic style. Even the color pallet that is used is different, as it uses more subdued colors compared
to more vibrant ones. The color pallet that is used sets a darker tone and that the comic book should be
taken more seriously. It also tries to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first one is the typical speech bubble that indicates he is talking. However, the interesting one is
the second speech bubble, it is not a typical one as there is a dashed line around it. Comic book heroes
often have sidekicks that can be used so the hero can vocalize their thoughts. Remembering that this
comic book is based on a video game, it is important to know that most characters in a video game do
not have thoughts, and the heroes in video games often do not have sidekicks that can help vocalize
their thoughts. However, video game heroes often speak what they are thinking, which helps the
audience understand what they are thinking. Dante s dashed speech bubble is showing his internal
thoughts as his typical speech. Having Dante do this helps keep his character, that was already

Ancient Era Vs Renaissance Era
Great discussion post this week! You have chosen some great artifacts from each era. All are great
advanced designs for each era and truly fascinating to look at as well. Between the Saqqara Bird, The
Morgan Crusader Bible, and The Gutenberg Press you can see each era s culture through the artifacts
and how they do all differ. It is funny to notice though that the Ancient Era and the Renaissance Era
artifacts that you have chosen are both made out of wood. Even though these periods are during two
different times, wood was still used and carved for both artifacts. This was something I just thought
when looking at the images you have provided. I also wanted to mention that the artifact you have
chosen for the Ancient Era is similar to what I have chosen as well. I chose the Shabti dolls, which is
similar to the artifact you have chosen, although the Saqqara Bird s purpose is still not really known.
Anyway, there are many differences between all three artifacts. All three are beautifully crafted, but in
three different and unique ways for each era. The Saqqara Bird is smoothly crafted and rather simple
where the Bible and printing press from the other two eras are more detailed and elaborate. You can
see the changes in time through the artifacts and the skills and culture through each. The printing press
is a huge advancement and just goes to show you the culture during this time period. The bird and the
Bible also show the spirituality and faith and even religion of each era, while the printing press does
not. The manuscript that you have selected is also made and written by hand in this era and the
printing press in the next era shows how all that can now be done by machine. All three artifacts are
created differently because of the changes in each time frame. You can see how the artifacts advance
and how the cultures have evolved as well and what was really important during each era. It seems
like in the ancient era the afterlife was a huge concern and belief for these people, while during the
middle era it has more of a focus on religion and sharing that, while in the Renaissance era it was
more focused on advancements and production created from the printing press. Contemporary human
creative expression can

In order to end the civil acts of disobedience the British agreed to set all political prisoners free in
1931. This agreement was known as Gandhi Irwin pact; Lord Irwin was the viceroy of India at the
time (History, 2010).
Page 4 In 1939 World War II broke out in Europe. Britain proclaimed India s involvement in the war
without consulting the Indian people. This led to increased protest and volatility. In 1942 India
established a national army and proposed the Quit India Movement. This movement promised to lend
Indian military support to Britain in return for complete independence. If they refused this treaty the
Indian people promised civil disobedience. In 1947 India was granted its independence and became
self governing (Luscombe, 2012). On January 26, 1950 the Republic of India was proclaimed and it
drafted a constitution. The first democratic elections were held in 1952. However the Hindus and
Muslims were not united and colonial India was divided into Muslim Pakistan and Hindu India

struggle for independence from Britain. The British victory in the French and Indian War left Britain s

The Piano Movie Analysis
Jane Campion s The Piano is one of the most intense yet inquisitive films that I have ever
encountered. The film takes us on a climatic roller coaster ride of passionate love, silence and pride set
in the midst of the earthy, muddy climate of New Zealand. The story tells of a woman who uses her
choice of silence as her protest against patriarchy, and the toxic masculinity of her husband, all while
utilizing her piano and her daughter to communicate for her.
The film begins with the main character Ada and her daughter Flora, being shipped off to marry a man
she has never met before named Stewart. Accompanying them is Ada s piano which holds a significant
amount of importance to her. In the very beginning of the film she says, I have not spoken since I was
6 years old As a result, her only way of communicating is either through the sign language she uses
with her daughter who then translates it, or through her piano. Although having the piano is a priority
to her, her husband Stewart does not share the same sentiment and refuses to bring the piano up to
their house. Since he sees no importance in the piano or her desire to have it decides to simply leave
the piano exactly where arrived on the beach. One of Stewart s men, Baines decides to buy the piano
in hopes of getting piano lessons from Ada. Since he is the owner of the piano and knows she wants it
back he arranges a deal with her that he will give her back one piano key at a time in exchange for
sexual favors during lessons. Initially, Ada is appalled by his advances but soon they develop a strong
relationship and eventually an intimate one after he gives her the piano. Initially when Stewarts finds
out about the budding relationship between the two he watches them in the act of intimacy and later
boards the house to keep her confined until he feels she won t go to Baines again. As time passes he
begins to feel as if he can trust her again and takes the boards off of the house but urges her not to see
him again. Although she does not go to see Baines again she decides to send him a goodbye gift in the
form of a piano key through Flora. However, instead of going to Baines Flora tells Stewart who then
pursues Ada in rage and chops off her finger He

The Importance Of Taking Risks In Beowulf
De Armas, Albert M. Ascorbe English 4 P.7 10/15/17 The Importance of Taking Risks Beowulf set his
ego aside and hurdled into the face of danger in order to defeat a greater evil and liberate the people of
Heorot from the demonic grasp of Grendel. The crew aboard the Challenger brought America together
and helped us insure the safety of future astronauts. Tom pushed his body to the edge to live the life he
dreamed of. Risks are imperative in life. Even beginning life, they are our instinct. We learn to crawl
despite the bruises on our knees. We learn to walk no matter how many falls we endure. As we
become further aware of the world around us, somewhere along the way, we experience failure; at that
point, many people attempt to eradicate most risks from their life. But where would we be without our
sense of exploration, our willingness to try new things? In order to push one s boundaries, move
forward as a society, and give purpose to life people must be willing to take risks. Beowulf sees the
need of taking risks when he must help his friend across the sea in bringing peace to his land.
Hrothgar s kingdom, Denmark, is being terrorized by the vicious, bloody thirsty demons, Grendel and
his mother. Sailing across the sea, putting his own life at risk for others is an immense risk that can
certainly lead to Beowulf s demise. The Geats, who idolize Beowulf, see this risk but can comprehend
that Beowulf must go as it is the only way to save the Danes Would sail across the sea to

The Performance Enhancing Drug Scandal
The largest Performance Enhancing Drug scandal, in baseball, all started over a debt owed to Porter
Fischer in 2013. Fischer worked for Tony Bosch who owned a clinic called Biogenesis of America,
which specialized in weight loss and hormone replacement therapy. When Bosch did not pay back his
debt to Fischer, Fischer became angry and wanted revenge. This is when Porter stole documents from
Tony to get his revenge by letting the world know who Dr. Tony Bosch, is what he called himself even
though he wasn t a real doctor, really was doing at this so called clinic . In the documents that had all
the client names there were twenty Major League ballplayers that MLB ended up linking to the clinic,
but only one stood out to Fischer: Alex Rodriguez. This was an eye opener for Major League Baseball
and they knew something needed to be done about the use of PEDs in the sport of baseball. After tons
of investigation and trying to buy the documents MLB suspended Alex Rodriguez on August 5, 2013
for the 2014 season (211 games). Twelve other players connected to the Biogenesis scandal were
given a 50 game suspension. Rodriguez received a longer suspension because of his use and
possession of numerous forms of prohibited performance enhancing substances, including testosterone
and human growth hormone, over the course of multiple years and for his attempts to cover up those
violations and obstruct a league investigation , according to MLB. The only player ,out of thirteen, to

Native American Sweat Lodge Research Paper
Native American sweat lodge ceremonies are more than just sweating. They are purifying rituals used
for many purposes depending on the culture and the occasion. Most sweat lodge ceremonies are used
for healing purposes, to give thanks to their spirits or their God, for seeking of wisdom and to clear
their mind, body, and soul. According to aktalakota.stjo.org, the term sweat lodge means to live again
(Raymond A. Bucko, 1989). Native American sweat ceremonies usually take place in round, circular
lodges. Some cultures use teepees, or even pits that are covered with tree branches. Most lodges or
teepees are generally made of wood. Hot rocks are placed in the middle of the lodge by a firekeeper
and heated to 102 degrees. Water is occasionally poured over the heated rocks to create a hot and
steamy lodge. The lodge is designed to make it a safe and sacred place. It is where they can go to
concentrate on the spirits that are invited to the ceremony. Some ceremonies can last up to two hours
(K. Cohen, 2006). According to tradition, nothing or no one should come into the sweat lodge that
does not have Native American significance and that includes clothing. Therefore, the ceremonies are

Poverty In Third World Countries
The effects of poverty have been around for hundreds of years; as it is apparent within third world
countries like North Korea, Sudan, and Somalia. Third world countries are not the only ones that are
affected due to poverty first world countries like Australia, The United States of America, and Canada
also face poverty. The definition of poverty is very controversial as every country has a different
poverty line, due to the finical status of the country. The most commonly used definition for poverty is
someone that is lacking a significant amount of money from which they cannot pay for necessities,
such as food and shelter. Which could lead to those in poverty becoming obese through having a
heaving sugar based diet, buying packaged food, and having fast food frequently due to how cheap it
is. It could eventually lead to many gaining life threatening diseases, such as diabetes at different
severities. Due to being in poverty many are unable to gain health insurance, and the proper care to
reduce the impact that diabetes has on their day to day lives. Within first world countries such as The
United States the lower class is living in unlivable conditions and are not able to gain the proper care
and food. The group that is hit the worst within America are the immigrants, due to not being able to
find high paying jobs and not knowing the language clearly which causes a language barrier. Due to

Many people heard about the new land and thought with this new land would come a new beginning
so they started arriving in fleets from Britain to come for the new land and with so many people
coming we needed food and settlers for them and laws. The thing is though the people who were
coming over and going to the south needed workers for farms so they used natives at first and that
didn t work out too well, many of them died because of our diseases and the natives couldn t fight
them off. The native americans also new the land much better than ... Show more content on

The north was okay with it for a while then the learned how the slaves we treated. Many of the slaves
were whipped, beaten, underfeed, not even sleep and overworked. Northerners then wanted people to
stop slavery, this caused the south to get fed up with the north because they had been doing it for so
long and that was one of the ways the got their food supplies and money. The north and south then
went into war to stop the slavery, many people from the south didn t care though they just wanted to
be able to make money and they never cared about blacks life because they felt superior to blacks.
After slavery was officially banned the idea that whites are better than blacks was what every white
felt, this had caused the idea of racism to grow hugely and the idea of segregation to come about.
Many people believed that blacks were lower under them so they didn t think they should have to go
to the same stores or drink out of the same water fountains for example, so they made two of
everything one for whites and another for colored. They gave blacks no rights and whites would be
able to kill blacks out of cold blood and never get punished but if a black just tried to defend
themselves they were ordered to be hung.

Of The Cold War Changed By Gorbachev And The End Of The...
This essay will prove how the end of the cold war was caused by Gorbachev and his policies to a large
extent. The end of the Cold war was also due to President Reagan and the collapse of The Soviet
Union to a smaller extent. Gorbachevs policies were Glasnost and perestroika. Perestroika translates to
restructuring and this was the restructuring of the economy from the state, and the social and political
restructuring. Glasnost translates to openness and this was the freedom of the press. Glasnost and
Perestroika were ultimately the cause of the fall of Gorbachev. President Reagan was Anti Soviet and
called communists Good Marxist Leninists. The end of the cold war was in 1991. This was the same
year that the Soviet Union collapsed. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reagan called the soviet union the focus of evil in the modern world and called Soviet leaders good
Marxist Leninists (source G). There was the creation of the Reagan Doctrine and this doctrine was

also introduced the Strategic defense initiative (SDI) and this was a research program to deploy
missiles to destroy nuclear weapons. Both of the Reagan Doctrine and the Strategic Defense Initiative
was created because of Reagan being anti soviet. Ilya Zaslavsky believed that it was Reagan who
created perestroika and glasnost, not Gorbachev. (source o)
Some historians believe that the end of the Cold War was due to the communication and talks between
Gorbachev and Reagan. (source E) In Geneva 1985 Reagan threatened Gorbachev to reduce or
continue the arms race. Gorbachev agreed on the condition that the United States would agree to not
deploy their Nuclear weapons. The two leaders came to an agreement in 1987 when both signed the

How The Low Income Of Countries Such As Chad And Papua New...
Introduction
This report is to help introduce the low income of countries such as Chad and Papua New Guinea, and
comparing them to a country such as Sweden who has no income. For years, certain countries, as the
two listed above cannot maintain a lifestyle with the incomes that are available to them. Using
incomes will help to see where the problem is occurring and how it might be approached to aid the
countries. Reporting on the countries will give insight into a historical background including
independence of the countries, along with education, literacy, life factors, and poverty by using the
GINI to show how wide the gaps can be and become.
Historical Background In 1946 Chad became an Overseas Territory of France and on August 11, 1960
obtained independence, but short lived, because of a tyrant dictator, Francois Tombalbaye, who never
really released them from his grip, and Chad had been in a civil war, until 1990 when Idriss Deby, a
military commander, took control and with his rule, multi party politics has returned to Chad, giving
some freedoms back to its citizens (Chad s long road to independence, 2010).
Papua New Guinea was under the government of Australia, and the UN pushed Australia to give
Papua New Guinea independence and help create a group that would be able to run a government
through social and educated influences. On September 16, 1975 Papua New Guinea obtained their
independence with a monarchy ruled by Queen Elizabeth II as head of state represented

Comparing The Monkey s Paw And The Third Wish
From ending up dead to killing your own son, wishes can have some extreme consequences. After
reading The Monkey s Paw and The Third Wish it is clear that they are similar and different in many
ways. Both Characters learn lessons that are very important to their current situation. However, the
two characters get their wishes in two different ways. Although they are two different stories, we can
still easily compare and contrast them. Ironically, The Third Wish doesn t have a third wish. At the end
of the text, Mr. Peters dies peacefully without making his last wish. On the other hand, the old man
makes a third wish even though we never really know what it was. In Fact, the wishes are even
granted by completely different things, one being a magical being, and the other being a monkey s
paw. Its is obvious which belongs to which story. The wishes by themselves are completely different.
For the first wish, Mr. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, the first wish in both stories was for an item or person. They wished for something they
each wanted without being very specific, therefore there were consequences. Mr. Peters didn t exactly
wish for a human to be his wife, he only specified a wife as beautiful as the forest. . In the case of the
old man, his son, Herbert, was killed at work. The old man did not specify how he would get the
money. The second wish in both stories was correcting the consequences of the first wish. Such as the
fact the Herbert was dead or Mr. Peters wife turned into a swan. Finally, Mr. Peters and the old man
learn a valuable lesson, be more specific.
When making a wish, it has to be specific enough to not cause anything bad to happen, if possible.
Although both characters in these two stories learned valuable lessons, the ghost of wishes past will
forever haunt him. Whether it s the paw of a monkey or a magical being that grants your wishes, be
careful what you wish

Osteoporosis Is The Most Common Chronic
Osteoporosis is translated from the Greek and literally means porous bone .It is the most common
chronic, metabolic bone disease in the U.S.A, resulting in osteopenia and fractures in spine , hip and
wrist. In addition osteoporosis is progressive, and the skeletal fragility often leads to disabling
fractures (hip fractures) and even death. Primary osteoporosis is a result of aging, whereas secondary
osteoporosis occurs at any age, is a consequence to certain medication as well as diseases.
Throughout life the skeletal system is constantly changing. Bone modeling, formation and growth of
bones, occurs from birth to early adulthood resulting in increase in skeletal mass and changes in
skeletal form. Naturally the peak bone mass is achieved in the third decade of life, meaning the bones
are at their strongest state in human development. Bone remodeling, a response to micro trauma and
stress on the bone, is a dynamic process that also occurs through life. Bone is composed of collagen
type 1, a protein, minerals such as calcium and phosphate and bone forming cells (osteoblasts and
osteocytes) as wells as bone resorbing cells known as osteoclasts. Calcium is a main contributor of
bone strength. In fact 99% of calcium is stored in bones and teeth with one percent remaining in the
blood. The process of bone remodeling is activated by stressors such as weight bearing and is
necessary to maintain bone mass in an adult. It s a dynamic process in which bone resorption is always

Madness In H. P. Lovecraft s Temple
H.P. Lovecraft s Temple tells the story of how a German crew on a badly damaged ship during World
War Two slowly descends into madness. A combination of odd sightings, fear, illness, and eventually
violence and suicide leave the protagonist, Karl Heinrich, all by himself on a doomed ocean voyage.
By the end of the story, Heinrich senses that he is going mad. He believes to have found the lost city
of Atlantis, and ultimately dies while exploring it. An episode of Star Trek: Voyager titled Bliss deals
with the similar theme of a descent into madness. This science fiction 1990 s television show takes

that appears to be a direct route back to Earth, they jump at the chance. However, the crew of the

s alien home worlds are located. This crew member, named Seven, is the only one who has no desire

Similarities And Differences Between The Cardiac And...
This table shows the similarities and differences between the cardiac and skeletal muscle. One of the
main similarities is the fact both muscles are categorized as striated muscles. Striations are the main
key to identifying the skeletal and cardiac muscle. The striated muscles are attached to the bone of the
cells in which they produce all the movement in the body. Another similarity is that they can be
electrically conducted because they both contain t tubules. The t tubules are the plasma membrane of
both muscles. They allow depolarization of the membranes which then penetrate into the cell.
They are both resistant to fatigue, especially the cardiac muscle due to the large amount of
mitochondria is contains. However the skeletal muscle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of these muscles expand and contract as they have complex structures so it is essential how they
do this. The cardiac muscle needs the contractions to occur in order to pump blood out of the atria and
into the ventricles and round the circulatory system so the structure of this muscle shows the systole of
the heart. The contractions of the skeletal muscle also depend on its structure. The binding and
releasing of two strands of sarcomere is how the repeated pattern of contractions occurs. ATP is used
to prepare myosin for binding to allow the contractions to happen. The skeletal and cardiac muscle
also both has elasticity. The elasticity is used to restore the muscles back to their original lengths
which enable them to resume back to their original length once they have contracted and been
stretched.
As well as the skeletal and cardiac muscle having many similarities, they also have differences. The
main difference is the location of these two muscles. The cardiac muscle is found in the walls of the
heart however the skeletal muscle is attached to the bone by tendons. This is because they have
different functions. The skeletal muscle needs to be attached to the bones as its function is to produce
movement of the body and the cardiac muscle is to pump blood around the body.
Another difference is the fact they have different lengths, the skeletal muscle is much longer than the
cardiac muscle. This is because when cell

she cannot stop smoking cigarettes. In spite of all her qualities, she cannot quit smoking. Sarah says
she is under a lot of stress right now and smoking relaxes her. She also explained she doesn t know
where to start and all the methods she has already tried have not worked for her. Finally, Sarah does
not feel like she has the strength to quit smoking. I love my cousin dearly and want to help her quit, so
I have some advice for her. Sarah says she is under a lot of stress right now and smoking relaxes her. I
understand that she is stressed with completing her final classes, but there are other ways. Cigarettes
only relax her because she s giving her body a substance that it has become dependent on. First, I
would suggest to Sarah that instead of smoking to rid her of stress she should try to exercise instead.
Exercising is a great stress reliever and it doesn t have to be more than a minute long. I would also
suggest that she begins to drink green tea or any other tea that relieves stress. Drinking tea is a much
healthier way to rid stress and it is way more convenient than

giving them someone to relate to. Burton uses this effect to convey the message that your not alone
because like you, everyone is an outcast, especially in the homogeneous society we live in. One of the
most recurrent cinematic techniques used in Tim Burton s films is color. He uses color is a variety of

After failure to sell any Avon products to her neighbors, Peg takes a desperate risk and decides to visit
Edwards mansion. As she drives down the road we watch her pass the innocent looking pastel houses
and head straight for the dark, threatening castle on the hill. These opposing colors evoke fear and
panic within the viewers. Feelings of discomfort flow throughout the audience as we watch Peg leave
her comfortable and safe life to venture through the unknown. Burton s use of color helped the
audience differentiate the abnormalities of Edwards mansion compared the normal lifestyle of Pegs
neighborhood. This not only told the audience that Edward is an outcast, but as the movie went on and
we grew a liking for Edwards character, it made us realize that being an outcast is better than being

As a dark figure, known as the Tinker approaches, Elisa can t help but become intrigued by the man
who took the wrong turn. His worn black suit was wrinkled and spotted with grease. The laughter has

World War I Was A Great Power
On August 4, 1914 Great Britain declared war on Germany because the Germans attacked France
through neutral Belgium. When Kaiser Wilhelm II took control of Germany, relations between
Germany and Britain began to change because Wilhelm II wanted Germany to be a great power.
Britain recognized Wilhelm s II strong economy, large population, and powerful armed forces as a
threat capable of dominating Europe, therefore, Britain began to support Russia and France, joining
the Triple Entente. Under the Treaty of London of 1839, Britain had promised to defend Belgium,
bringing Britain into war once Germany invaded Belgium. When Germany invaded Belgium, they
relied on the idea that Britain would remain neutral. Since Germany threatened Britain with their
growing forces, Britain honored the Treaty of London with Belgium and entered World War I. Britain
had no formal treaty with France there was an understanding that, in the event of a war with Germany,
a British Expeditionary Force would cross to France and take up a position alongside the French
Army. Entering World War I, the British army was outnumbered and unprepared. The British army
entering World War I was made up of an Expeditionary Force, in case it was necessary to take part in a
foreign war. The Expeditionary Force or (B.E.F) was comprised of six infantry divisions and four
cavalry brigades, making it a small army compared to the other countries who were a part of the Triple

Lesson Plan for Grade K 5, Language Arts
Prepared by Ms. Katayama, Liberal Studies Major at Chico State University
OVERVIEW PURPOSE
Technology is fluid; constantly changing and improving the way society functions and communicates
with one another. The importance of implementing technology in an academic setting is crucial due to
the modern world being a highly technological economy. Cell phones, computers, ipads, and other
technological instruments have made its way into almost every industry, including the education field,
and will only continue to increase. With a technological device in hand, students are broadening their
learning by being more creative, imaginative, and further engaging their cognitive thinking as opposed
to being restricted to writing with paper and pencil. Statistics show that students that interact with
tablets and computers score higher on tests and overall perform better in the classroom. Therefor,
teachers should do what they can comprehend how these technological devices work and find fun,
creative, lessons for students.
The main purpose of this lesson is to have students successfully create their own scrapbooks by using
descriptions, pictures, and drawings that illustrates what each student is passionate about. Ideas could
be hobbies such as dance, basketball, fishing, rock collections, etc., or volunteering at the local animal
shelter. By using the app, Story Creator, students will interact with either a tablet, ipad,

Isaial 53 Research Paper
Introduction
Isaiah 53 is one of the most stand out chapters of the Old Testament and it hold one of the greatest
prophesies every written. For the ancient Israelites it was a chapter that both held meaning for them in
their times of struggle, but also told of the coming of the messiah and gods plan of redemption. For us
the Christians of today Isaiah shows the trustfulness of god and that he will always keep his promises,
it is a clear referral to Jesus and every part is confirmed in the gospels. For me Isaiah 53 is a
CenterPoint of the bible that gives clear vision of the plan that god had for us and how he would save
us, it also gives a clear representation of what Christian walk is like.

The book of Isaiah was written about 800b.c during the time of the divided kingdom of Israel and

god, we all have sin in our lives and do things that are not what god wants for us, and nothing we do
will ever be enough to free ourselves, but through Jesus we are free from our inequities, he was the
only one who could take them and we are now free from our sin through Jesus s sacrifice on the cross

The History of Mexico Essay
The History of Mexico
Before the Spanish Mexico was occupied by a large number of Indian groups with very different
social and economic systems. In general the tribes in the north were relatively small groups of hunters
and gatherers who roamed large areas of sparsely vegetated deserts and dry lands. These people are

When the Spanish came to central Mexico, the Aztecs controlled most of the central part of Mexico
through a state payment system that got taxes and stopped them from being able to act independently
from conquered tribal groups. The Aztecs moved into the central part of Mexico from the north and
accomplished a tribal story by establishing a city where an eagle with a snake in its beak rested on a
cactus. This became the national symbol for Mexico and was put on the country s flag and seal. The
Aztecs started the city of Tenochtitlan in about the early 1300s, and then it became the capital of their
empire. The Tlaxcalans in the east, the Tarascans on the west, and the Chichimecs in the north were
outside the Aztec Empire and they would sometimes have wars with them. The nation s name comes
from the Aztecs war god, Mexitli.

Jazz Music In The 1930 s
Jazz music originated from New Orleans, Louisiana in the early 1900 s. The creation of the style came
from a need for a phycological shield against the disasters from nature and society in New Orleans at
the time. Jazz was the most original form that came from those troubles. Jazz is characterized by
swing and blue notes, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots from
West African cultural and expressions, as well as African American traditions. Jazz started becoming
more world wide around 1910 and started introducing brass band marches, French quadrilles, and
biguine music styles. Later in the 1930 s dance oriented swing bands became very prominent to the
style. From there Jazz music continued to grow and become

The Impact Of Sound On The World Of Sound Cinema
Sound is obviously an essential part of cinema, and most couldn t imagine watching any sort of
entertainment without sound. Although how did sounds start and what were some major advancements
in the world of sound cinema? The introduction of sound to cinema began by a process known as
Phonofilm, created by a man named Lee de Forest and Theodore Case in 1923. The Phonofilm, which
recorded synchronized sound directly onto film, was used to record a variety of entertainment
including vaudeville acts, musical numbers, political speeches and opera singers. Unfortunately, this
sound film didn t last long because it was overshadowed by the sound on disc, later named the
Vitaphone.
The Vitaphone was developed by Western Electrics Bell Laboratories and quickly acquired by Warner
Bros Company in April of 1925. The Warner Brothers film Don Juan, directed by Alan Crosland,
which utilized the first system with synchronized music score and sound effects, first showcased the
Vitaphone. Using the Vitaphone, Warner Brothers went on to produce over 100 short films during the
mid 1920 s. In 1927, The Jazz Singer was released, which was essentially a silent picture with
Vitaphone score and the occasional episodes of synchronized singing and speech. Although the
Vitaphone seemed like a revolutionary concept opening a whole new market of cinema, it became
apparent that recording on film would be much more convenient.
Sound on disk had been in the tweaking process throughout the early

that there are disadvantages and advantages of using Marijuana. At the end of the day, it is really the
choice of the user. But people should become more aware of where Marijuana originated from, what it

Marijuana is usually smoked through joints, which are hand rolled, but can be smoked out of a bong,
or pipe. The edible products are mostly made from weed butter and is then mixed with cookie dough,
brownie mix, or cake batter. So why do so many people think it is bad for us? That s because the THC
is what makes the Marijuana addictive . THC increases the level of dopamine, which is the pleasure
chemical, in the brain. Therefore, people who smoke a lot have a higher chance of becoming
dependant on the use of cannabis and then this dependency can turn into an addiction.
Possibility of addiction is only one of the disadvantages on Marijuana. There are short term and long
term effects from the use of the drug. The most common short term effects include paranoia, difficulty
with concentration, anxiety, fatigue, and hallucinations. If you re not around good people, you will end
up having a bad experience and be very paranoid and anxious. (Daily User One, 2017) This person
said that the people you are around and your surroundings in general can also alter how you react to
the THC in your system. Other short term effects that are more dangerous include increased heart rate
(which is particularly dangerous to people with heart disease), decreased blood pressure, and damaged
blood vessels caused by the smoke. The long term effects include memory loss, IQ level (due to blood

Relationship Between the Price Elasticity of Demand and...
Explain the relationship between the price elasticity of demand and total revenue. What are the
impacts of various forms of elasticities (elastic, inelastic, unit elastic, etc.) on business decisions and
strategies to maximize profit? Explain using empirical examples.
The consumers and producers behave differently. To explain their behavior better economists
introduced the concepts of supply and demand. In short words, the law of demand states that with
price increase quantity demanded of a good or services decreases, and the law of supply states that
quantity of a good produced increase if the market price of that good increases. Of course, it is just
general rule and does not explain all varieties of factors impacting the supply and ... Show more

If the price in your shop will be higher than competitive one the low income customers will skip the
trip to it which will lead to decrease in profit.
* Temporary price change.
Temporary price change can affect revenue significantly. One day sale will increase quantity of sold
product and the volume of sold goods will outweigh the price drop which will lead to revenue
increase.
In order to set right price, company should take into consideration the above mentioned factors as well
as characteristic of demands such as elastic or inelastic.
If the demand for the good or services of the company is elastic then the change in quantity demanded
would be greater than a change in price. Let s say the 10 percent decrease in price will cause increase
in demand for 20 percent. The effect of this changes is that customers buying more products of this
company. They are buying it for lower price but the price decrease outweigh by increasing quantity of
the products or services. In this case the company benefits from these changes by raising profits. On
the other hand, if company would raise the prices for the product the quantity will decrease so does the
profit.
If the demand for companies output is inelastic then the change in price will have a smaller effect on
change of quantity. Let s say company will cut the price for 10 percent. This will cause the increase in
demands for 5

  • 2. Defining Love In Sir Thomas Wyatt And Samuel Daniels Sir Thomas Wyatt and Samuel Daniels have sonnets in which the speaker is attempting to define love. With one speaker stating his daily life and the other expressing the feeling through paradoxes, both ultimately end up with poems that are not conventionally good love poems. I allege that the reason they cannot effectively define love is that they do not truly understand it because their own egos blind them from it. The scope of both sonnets is restricted to simply the speakers focus and they spend all fourteen lines saying things of little consequence. Rather than getting across the point that they are in love, they are showing their disillusionment in regards to what love is because they are so self centered and thus inadept at writing poetry. I aim to reveal that these sonnets reveal more about the speakers than about love through their choice of rhyme scheme, rhetorical devices, meter, and repetition. The speakers use different rhyme schemes. I find no peace is a Petrarchan sonnet and If this be love is a Shakespearean sonnet. While not actually flouting the conventional patterns, the speakers use diction that hardly allows the sonnets to be easily identified by their rhyme schemes. In the first and fourth lines of I find no peace, for example, the speaker seems to rhyme done with on (Wyatt ll. 1, 4). Instead of altering the word choice to better fit the Petrarchan rhyme scheme, the speaker writes in the only diction he can think of. Wyatt s speaker is so focused on himself and his paradoxical experience of love that he fails to create an effective sonnet. We see a similar disregard for the standard form by Daniel s speaker. The rhyme scheme of a Shakespearean sonnet is there, though not obviously with the speaker attempting to rhyme thoughts and notes in the last quatrain (Daniel ll. 9, 11). I believe the weakness in the overall rhyme scheme implies that the speaker is careless of tradition. This loose rhyming shows a lack of regard for the form the speaker is attempting to emulate, further emphasizing the possibility that his goal has not been to define love but to prove to others, and himself, that he is in love. Wyatt s speaker describes love primarily by using paradoxes. However, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Early on it seems that it will be Richard Nixon running against President Johnson. Only Richard Nixon and George Romney started out running in the primaries, suggesting that this seriously underrepresented the Republicans. However, if he were to run, Nelson Rockefeller was believed to be the republican most likely to beat Johnson. By the end on the first quarter the emergence of Nelson Rockefeller, Robert Kennedy, and Eugene McCarthy brings new animation to the race. At the beginning of the second quarter Johnson has declared that he will not seek a second term as President opening up the chance for Vice President Humphrey to throw his hat into the ring. This alters the scheme for those campaigning as they can no longer claim that anyone but Johnson would do a better job. I observed how they often draw pictures of themselves or of something they really like. For example, of flowers, animals or a favorite cartoon character they really like. The teacher help children to perfect this fine skills by learning how to make cupcakes and cookies. This helps the child identify that sugar and chocolate chip cookies need to be added to the mixture and all the ingredients need to be mixed together in order to create the recipe. The textbook mentions that between the ages of 4 and 5 a child develops this skills by using scissors correctly following the line, and drawing simple figures. (Beck 309). Parents can also work with their children to perfect this skills. For example, they can show their children how to use the correct kitchen utensils or come up with creative arts and crafts that a child might enjoy depending on their interest. For instance, when I was around 4 years old my mom tells me a story about how when I was younger she and I would do arts and crafts together. We had the tradition of always decorating for the holidays especially for Halloween, thanksgiving, and Christmas, She commented that decorating crafts was always exciting for me because I had the ability to use my imagination and creativity. • 8. The Fountain Of Youth Research Paper Stories have been passed down from generation to generation since the dawn of time. Stories were often passed down for a purpose, whether it was to bring joy or hope to a person, or to teach an important lesson. Folktales date far back and are no exception. Folktales reflect physical, emotional, and social survival, while the characters experiences help to teach important life lessons. Physical survival was one of the types of survival folktales show throughout the stories. After Johnny told the family that the British were coming they became worried and frightened because the British were their enemies and could steal from them or even kill them. A lesson that can be learned from this is if people have the ability to help someone, then they should do it. Johnny walked two hundred miles to warn the settlers that the British were on their way. People often do not go out of their way to help each other and that should change. The First Tears is a second example of a folktale that demonstrates emotional survival. As he spoke, water began to flow from the eyes of Woman and Son, and they cried with Man. In this way people first learned to weep (Schlosser, The First Tears ). Man, Woman, and Son cried for the first time displaying the emotions of sadness and disappointment. A moral that can be taken from The First Tears is success does not always come at first, but do not give up. Man had to cope with his disappointment in order to try again. When a person fails at something it is tempting to give up. People need to persevere through challenges in order to be successful. The Church Of Liberalism By Ann Coulter Brittany Zeock James Holland Michael Martin Government Politics in the US 4/30/15 Ramblings of the Ill informed In Godless: The Church of Liberalism, published by Three Rivers Press in 2007, author Ann Coulter argues that liberalism has become a religion despite liberals rejecting god and religion. On the first page Coulter writes, Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles . . . its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as a religion. Coulter attempts to draw many parallels between liberals and religious people in the beginning of the book. Coulter then gets into the ideologies that the liberal religion possesses in the chapters to follow. This includes Coulter s assertion that liberals love violent criminals, but hate fetuses because all liberals oppose the death penalty and support abortions. Coulter s overgeneralizations continue when she rants and yells about the liberal media s adoration for educators and how teachers are the saints for leftists and schools are like churches of socialism. Then Coulter states that educators are indoctrinating students with false beliefs in evolution and turning children away from Christianity. Finally, Coulter attempts to disprove evolution a very small amount understanding of what evolution really is. In Godless: The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Ancient Era Vs Renaissance Era Great discussion post this week! You have chosen some great artifacts from each era. All are great advanced designs for each era and truly fascinating to look at as well. Between the Saqqara Bird, The Morgan Crusader Bible, and The Gutenberg Press you can see each era s culture through the artifacts and how they do all differ. It is funny to notice though that the Ancient Era and the Renaissance Era artifacts that you have chosen are both made out of wood. Even though these periods are during two different times, wood was still used and carved for both artifacts. This was something I just thought when looking at the images you have provided. I also wanted to mention that the artifact you have chosen for the Ancient Era is similar to what I have chosen as well. I chose the Shabti dolls, which is similar to the artifact you have chosen, although the Saqqara Bird s purpose is still not really known. Anyway, there are many differences between all three artifacts. All three are beautifully crafted, but in three different and unique ways for each era. The Saqqara Bird is smoothly crafted and rather simple where the Bible and printing press from the other two eras are more detailed and elaborate. You can see the changes in time through the artifacts and the skills and culture through each. The printing press is a huge advancement and just goes to show you the culture during this time period. The bird and the Bible also show the spirituality and faith and even religion of each era, while the printing press does not. The manuscript that you have selected is also made and written by hand in this era and the printing press in the next era shows how all that can now be done by machine. All three artifacts are created differently because of the changes in each time frame. You can see how the artifacts advance and how the cultures have evolved as well and what was really important during each era. It seems like in the ancient era the afterlife was a huge concern and belief for these people, while during the middle era it has more of a focus on religion and sharing that, while in the Renaissance era it was more focused on advancements and production created from the printing press. Contemporary human creative expression can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Piano Movie Analysis Jane Campion s The Piano is one of the most intense yet inquisitive films that I have ever encountered. The film takes us on a climatic roller coaster ride of passionate love, silence and pride set in the midst of the earthy, muddy climate of New Zealand. The story tells of a woman who uses her choice of silence as her protest against patriarchy, and the toxic masculinity of her husband, all while utilizing her piano and her daughter to communicate for her. The film begins with the main character Ada and her daughter Flora, being shipped off to marry a man she has never met before named Stewart. Accompanying them is Ada s piano which holds a significant amount of importance to her. In the very beginning of the film she says, I have not spoken since I was 6 years old As a result, her only way of communicating is either through the sign language she uses with her daughter who then translates it, or through her piano. Although having the piano is a priority to her, her husband Stewart does not share the same sentiment and refuses to bring the piano up to their house. Since he sees no importance in the piano or her desire to have it decides to simply leave the piano exactly where arrived on the beach. One of Stewart s men, Baines decides to buy the piano in hopes of getting piano lessons from Ada. Since he is the owner of the piano and knows she wants it back he arranges a deal with her that he will give her back one piano key at a time in exchange for sexual favors during lessons. Initially, Ada is appalled by his advances but soon they develop a strong relationship and eventually an intimate one after he gives her the piano. Initially when Stewarts finds out about the budding relationship between the two he watches them in the act of intimacy and later boards the house to keep her confined until he feels she won t go to Baines again. As time passes he begins to feel as if he can trust her again and takes the boards off of the house but urges her not to see him again. Ascorbe English 4 P.7 10/15/17 The Importance of Taking Risks Beowulf set his ego aside and hurdled into the face of danger in order to defeat a greater evil and liberate the people of Heorot from the demonic grasp of Grendel. The crew aboard the Challenger brought America together and helped us insure the safety of future astronauts. Tom pushed his body to the edge to live the life he dreamed of. Risks are imperative in life. Even beginning life, they are our instinct. We learn to crawl despite the bruises on our knees. We learn to walk no matter how many falls we endure. As we become further aware of the world around us, somewhere along the way, we experience failure; at that point, many people attempt to eradicate most risks from their life. But where would we be without our sense of exploration, our willingness to try new things? In order to push one s boundaries, move forward as a society, and give purpose to life people must be willing to take risks. Beowulf sees the need of taking risks when he must help his friend across the sea in bringing peace to his land. Hrothgar s kingdom, Denmark, is being terrorized by the vicious, bloody thirsty demons, Grendel and his mother. Sailing across the sea, putting his own life at risk for others is an immense risk that can certainly lead to Beowulf s demise. They are purifying rituals used for many purposes depending on the culture and the occasion. Most sweat lodge ceremonies are used for healing purposes, to give thanks to their spirits or their God, for seeking of wisdom and to clear their mind, body, and soul. According to aktalakota.stjo.org, the term sweat lodge means to live again (Raymond A. Bucko, 1989). Native American sweat ceremonies usually take place in round, circular lodges. Some cultures use teepees, or even pits that are covered with tree branches. Most lodges or teepees are generally made of wood. Hot rocks are placed in the middle of the lodge by a firekeeper and heated to 102 degrees. Water is occasionally poured over the heated rocks to create a hot and steamy lodge. Third world countries are not the only ones that are affected due to poverty first world countries like Australia, The United States of America, and Canada also face poverty. The definition of poverty is very controversial as every country has a different poverty line, due to the finical status of the country. The north and south then went into war to stop the slavery, many people from the south didn t care though they just wanted to be able to make money and they never cared about blacks life because they felt superior to blacks. After slavery was officially banned the idea that whites are better than blacks was what every white felt, this had caused the idea of racism to grow hugely and the idea of segregation to come about. Many people believed that blacks were lower under them so they didn t think they should have to go to the same stores or drink out of the same water fountains for example, so they made two of everything one for whites and another for colored. They gave blacks no rights and whites would be able to kill blacks out of cold blood and never get punished but if a black just tried to defend themselves they were ordered to be hung. ... Introduction This report is to help introduce the low income of countries such as Chad and Papua New Guinea, and comparing them to a country such as Sweden who has no income. For years, certain countries, as the two listed above cannot maintain a lifestyle with the incomes that are available to them. Using incomes will help to see where the problem is occurring and how it might be approached to aid the countries. Reporting on the countries will give insight into a historical background including independence of the countries, along with education, literacy, life factors, and poverty by using the GINI to show how wide the gaps can be and become. Historical Background In 1946 Chad became an Overseas Territory of France and on August 11, 1960 obtained independence, but short lived, because of a tyrant dictator, Francois Tombalbaye, who never really released them from his grip, and Chad had been in a civil war, until 1990 when Idriss Deby, a military commander, took control and with his rule, multi party politics has returned to Chad, giving some freedoms back to its citizens (Chad s long road to independence, 2010). Papua New Guinea was under the government of Australia, and the UN pushed Australia to give Papua New Guinea independence and help create a group that would be able to run a government through social and educated influences. On September 16, 1975 Papua New Guinea obtained their independence with a monarchy ruled by Queen Elizabeth II as head of state represented ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After reading The Monkey s Paw and The Third Wish it is clear that they are similar and different in many ways. Both Characters learn lessons that are very important to their current situation. However, the two characters get their wishes in two different ways. Although they are two different stories, we can still easily compare and contrast them. On the other hand, the old man makes a third wish even though we never really know what it was. Osteoporosis Is The Most Common Chronic Osteoporosis is translated from the Greek and literally means porous bone .It is the most common chronic, metabolic bone disease in the U.S.A, resulting in osteopenia and fractures in spine , hip and wrist. In addition osteoporosis is progressive, and the skeletal fragility often leads to disabling fractures (hip fractures) and even death. Throughout life the skeletal system is constantly changing. Bone modeling, formation and growth of bones, occurs from birth to early adulthood resulting in increase in skeletal mass and changes in skeletal form. Naturally the peak bone mass is achieved in the third decade of life, meaning the bones are at their strongest state in human development. Bone remodeling, a response to micro trauma and stress on the bone, is a dynamic process that also occurs through life. Bone is composed of collagen type 1, a protein, minerals such as calcium and phosphate and bone forming cells (osteoblasts and osteocytes) as wells as bone resorbing cells known as osteoclasts. Calcium is a main contributor of bone strength. In fact 99% of calcium is stored in bones and teeth with one percent remaining in the blood. One of the main similarities is the fact both muscles are categorized as striated muscles. Striations are the main key to identifying the skeletal and cardiac muscle. The striated muscles are attached to the bone of the cells in which they produce all the movement in the body. Another similarity is that they can be electrically conducted because they both contain t tubules. The t tubules are the plasma membrane of both muscles. They allow depolarization of the membranes which then penetrate into the cell. They are both resistant to fatigue, especially the cardiac muscle due to the large amount of mitochondria is contains. The cardiac muscle needs the contractions to occur in order to pump blood out of the atria and into the ventricles and round the circulatory system so the structure of this muscle shows the systole of the heart. The contractions of the skeletal muscle also depend on its structure. The binding and releasing of two strands of sarcomere is how the repeated pattern of contractions occurs. ATP is used to prepare myosin for binding to allow the contractions to happen. The skeletal and cardiac muscle also both has elasticity. The elasticity is used to restore the muscles back to their original lengths which enable them to resume back to their original length once they have contracted and been stretched. As well as the skeletal and cardiac muscle having many similarities, they also have differences. The main difference is the location of these two muscles. The cardiac muscle is found in the walls of the heart however the skeletal muscle is attached to the bone by tendons. This is because they have different functions.
