Of the four books I ve read this year that were required reading in school (Huckleberry Finn, The

Great Gatsby, Frankenstein, and Heart of Darkness), the only one I really liked was ... Show more
As a result, I haven t actually read these in English. I picked them because they represent a potpourri
of works from the French literary canon: historical fiction, philosophical novellas, modern dramas,
and classical dramas. So far, I ve enjoyed them and gained a respect for another language that I think
many students studying foreign languages lack. It s a kind of feeling that one can only get through
reading the literature of that language and combing through them to find common themes and cultural
statements. Works I will likely read for that class include The Marriage of Figaro (Le Mariage de
Figaro), The Guilty Mother (La Mère coupable), Waiting for Godot (En attendant Godot), Ninety three
(Quatrevingt treize), The Would Be Noble (Le Bourgeois gentilhomme), and Phèdre. I read Anatomy
of Revolution to help me in my We the People course. Unsurprisingly, it was very dry. It did, however,
provide valuable insight into why revolutions happen and the philosophy behind

Genetic interference of Caenorhabditis Elegans within the process of Chemotaxis Abstract For the
majority of animals on earth, responding to chemical stimuli could mean the difference between life
and death. Taste is an example of sensing chemical stimuli however, this response is not entirely
dependent on genes, as tasting something will not necessarily trigger a gene to activate. Within a
simpler organism however, such as Caenorhabditis Elegans, there is a complex behavior that is
mediated by three sensory neurons and transduce chemical stimuli to move muscles that move an
animal forward(attraction) or backwards(repulsion). By placing these organisms on several plates
which will inhibit genetic expression, and then testing chemotaxis at a later point, it is possible to
determine which genes are responsible for chemotaxis. The global sample averages of the chemotaxis
indexes of CEH 36 and CEH 27 are somewhat inconclusive, with a mean of 0.5815 for CEH 36 and
0.6981 for CEH 27. Overall, the results for CEH 27 are likely to show that there is a lack of genetic
