Onion Juice
Onions are a cost friendly remedy that you can find anywhere. The high sulfur content in onion juice
makes it a potent treatment for hair loss. It circulates blood to your hair follicles and stimulates them.
Its antibacterial properties combat the scalp infections that cause hair loss. A study published in the
Journal of Dermatology showed that onion juice promotes hair growth. 74% of its participants grew
new hairs after dabbing it on their scalps.
A mixture comprising two tablespoons of aloe vera gel and three tablespoons of onion juice
regenerates hair. Alternatively, slice an onion and apply the juice directly on your scalp. Leave it on
for half an hour before rinsing it off. You will soon get a new head of hair.
3. Fenugreek
Fenugreek, which grows abundantly in India, is a highly efficient remedy for hair fall. Fenugreek
seeds contain hormones that trigger hair growth. The nicotinic acid and proteins in them will nourish
your scalp and generate new hair. To use them, leave a cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
Then, grind them into a paste. Put the paste on your hair, leave it for 40 minutes, then rinse it off. If
you follow this routine daily for a month, you will notice hair

The Nature Of Bernard Shaw s Eliza Doolittle
Ah ah oh ow ow ow oo! I wont be called a baggage when Ive offered to pay like any lady. such is the
nature of Bernard Shaw s Eliza Doolittle in the excerpt from his play Pygmalion. Eliza is a young
woman with a cockney accent who sells flowers on the street, yet desires to work in an actual flower
shop; however, the shop won t accept her because of her speech. In an effort to pursue this vision, she
asks phonetics professor Higgins, to teach her how to speak like a lady worthy of the flower shop.
Despite her common upbringing, Eliza s self determination prompts help from those around her. Eliza
has a common upbringing to which her attire, speech, and conduct allude. Wearing a nearly clean
apron and a shoddy coat [that] has been tidied a little, she dresses modestly and humbly. Unlike the
high class s genteel speech, she speaks unrefined English. Eliza tends to have an innocent air and
naive outlook on life that shows in her thoughts and actions. Like a child, she gets excited about
taking a taxi; and when tempted with chocolates, she excuses herself in eating it by protesting, I
wouldnt have ate it, only I m too ladylike to take it out of my mouth. Even the other characters
consider her childish. For example, their first impression of her elicits feelings of pathos...with ...

Pickering is the first to help her by kindly offering to pay for the lessons [with Higgins]. After this
proposition, not only is Higgins more inclined to teach her how to speak like a lady, but he is also
inclined to make a duchess of her. As he continues to degrade and insult her, even Mrs. Pearce defends
her by scolding Higgins, You must be reasonable, Mr Higgins: really you must. You cant walk over
everybody like this. After being treated so insensitively by Higgins who s absorbed with his eccentric
ideas, Eliza finds herself apprehensively accepting aid from him and his

Hybrid Cars And Its Effects On The Environment Essay
In this day and age people argue more often about which kind of car is better overall; is it the internal
combustion engine, ICE, or hybrid car? Consumers are led to believe through advertisements and
online articles that hybrids are a better buy because of their reduced impact on the environment, and
ease of use. These reasons are in fact false because hybrid cars are no better for the environment
because of their production emissions and other variables.
There is a growing scientific consensus that increasing levels of greenhouse gas emissions are
changing the earth s climate. Also oil prices continue to skyrocket while tougher regulations and
policies on permitted exhaust gases are being instituted in major cities of the world. These and some
other related issues are compelling vehicle manufacturers to come up with fuel efficient vehicles.
These types of vehicles are known as hybrid electric vehicles (Omoigui).
Since their invention, most cars use an internal combustion engine, which is what all engines that use
a fuel and pistons. These ICE cars run off of only gas and other forms of fossil fuels. On the other side
of the spectrum, there have more recently been completely electric cars that are quiet and have a large
amount of batteries. In the middle of these two is the hybrid car; there are six different kinds of hybrid
configurations between the ICE and the batteries all with pros and cons. Some reduce emissions of the
ICE and others increase the torque on the axle

Alpena Stats Study
Cassie and I have conducted an experiment for our Probs and Stats project. We did and experiment to
see if listening to music during a test affect your scores. This experiment is relative by most of the
students in Alpena High listen to music. As a result of this experiment we were hoping that listening to
either classical or rap improves test scores.
Our population size is the students at Alpena High. Therefore, narrowing it down to AP classes in the
morning as our sample size. In this experiment we had four variables, which is advance students
(categorical), time of day (categorical), type of music (categorical) and our time interval of one minute
(quantitative). As a result of our variables a T test would be best because, we won t know the
population deviation. On the other hand, our randomization issue we decided to have a different test
for each class, as well as each day (3 days). Then each day we rotated classical, rap and no music in
each class.Meanwhile our sampling method would be a cluster sampling. ... Show more content on

over so they couldn t see the test, Once everyone had their test flipped over and they were ready we
did on the count of three to get them started on the test. Giving them a minute to the test. Then later in
class we graded all the test. Once we got all the test for the three days we got each class averages and

Who Is Martin Luther King On Christian Liberty
The battle for liberty has been fought on different scales with the beginning of thousands of
revolutions in the history. The ideal liberty is an ultimate goal that inflames the minds of many people
who yearn for individual freedom. In all these struggles, the definition of liberty is not the same for
different people. According to the text, the idea of liberty has played a powerful role in the history of
Western society and culture, but the meaning and understanding of liberty has undergone continual
change and interpretation. For example in the Roman world, liberty meant the condition of being a
free man. In the Middle Ages, liberty meant having special privileges or rights. However, the idea of
liberty under religious dimension was rather new. Martin Luther King had interpreted another
important foundation of liberty in his treatise On Christian Liberty: the important of faith and
Scripture to Christian life.
King meant of liberty was based not on articulation of justification by faith alone but through the word
of Gospel. Perhaps, people should have liberty in terms of their connection to God not controlled or
managed by the Church. King understood human liberty, broadly, as the capacity for a spiritual, new
and inward man to make a man a justified, free and true Christian. According to King, Christian man
is the most free lord of all, and subject to none. Of course, faith gives us true Christian liberty. We are
free from the law as regards our salvation.

My First Car Research Paper
My first car, which is also my current car, is the best/most beautiful car I ve ever had. I have a
standard 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, and it has a nice maroon color, unfortunately with some pretty
bad sun damage. I think of it as a female and named her Misty, when I first got her she was perfect
just wished that the owner who had before didn t take off her logo from the front and back. The back
bumper is custom as well as the side skirts. After my timing belt came loose we learned that the owner
before me didn t put it on right, so after the mechanics fixed her up the front bumper was somehow
extra loose. Now we have a pretty floppy front bumper, as for other aspects of her outer beauty, she
has a nice spoiler, fogged up headlights, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other than that it really doesn t have any other smell, which can also be bad because under the hot sun
my back would start sweating which gives it a temporal unpleasant smell. I will purchase some car
fresheners whenever I get the chance to. Also, I have some bizarre items inside, I ve got a plastic
garden flamingo sitting in my trunk right next to some drum heads, a bag full of paintballs with some
slingshots, and some styrofoam. Just some crazy stuff picked up on my wild adventures with friends,
most of the times we would take my car when we re out and about making some stupid fun decisions.
On the passenger side the dash for some reason is a dark blue color, not really matching with the black
and red, I do intend to do something about that soon. I really do love driving my car, putting it into
gear and just smashing in the gas is a great one. When I drove Misty for the first time, also driving
standard for the first time, It felt difficult. Kept stalling it on up hill slopes, grinding her gears, and
making very wide turns. Although as I kept driving her, even when I wasn t supposed to, it started
becoming second nature. Now, It s a feeling. Whenever I shift gears it feels perfect and comfortable.
Honestly whenever I drive her I can t resist but speed just a little. It s just a little risky even when you

The Neanderthals
According to the consensus view, the Neanderthals lived 250,000 to 30,000 years BP (Before the
Present), they were very primitive, looked more like gorillas than men, led a short brutish life, and
died on average at the age of forty five. According to my research, they were built more powerfully
than modern Humans. Their thicker tendons and ligaments, attached to heavier bones, gave them
superior strength, and the capacity of leaping high to hunt large animals. One of their back muscles,
that Humans have lost, added tremendous force and precision for throwing an object such as a lance,
or for handling a sword. Their voluminous rib cage gave superior stamina during any effort. Their
eyesight was much sharper than that of modern Humans

Polonius Traits
Polonius is an overly devoted character that is portrayed to be more concerned with the preservation
of his own reputation than the wellbeing of his own children, Laertes and Ophelia. He is described as
a man bred in courts, exercised in business, stored with observation, confident in his knowledge,
proud of his eloquence, all declining into dotage (Shakespeare s char... 1), and presents no redeeming
quality s In Act 1, scene 3, Polonius orders Laertes and Ophelia, to follow his instructions regarding
proper behavior. He states Give thy thoughts no tongue, Nor any unproportioned thought of this act.

( 2.2.120 ), Claudius replies As of a man faithful and honorable ( 2.2.120). Because of this, Polonius
appears to be relatively vain, and his arrogance becomes greatly pronounced. When questioned upon
his knowledge he even goes as far as to use his own daughter, Ophelia, to gain information on Hamlet
to aid himself and Claudius. These negative manipulative traits are again exemplified as he urges
Gertrude to find out about Hamlets motives. He again masks his instructions as advice he states; Tell
him his pranks have been to broad to bear with and that you grace hath screen d and stood between
heat and him (3.4.5). Polonius s motives for favoring the king so greatly, are not textually funded
because the play does not state much about Polonius s history. Although, It could be inferred that
Polonius had been the counselor of Old Hamlet, which would suggest a motive for Hamlets hostility.
But a more ideal argument is that Polonius had been a part Of Claudius s court prior to Old Hamlets
death. There is support for the nation of royals for having their own Courts, their own Courtiers and
followers ( Bernice W. Kliman 1 ). Polonius in fact, states that he had long been Claudius s counselor
Hath there been such a time, I would fain know that, that I have positively said, tis so, When it proved
otherwise? ( 2.2.150 ). If these arrangements here commonly known, it is arguable that Polonius could
have been among the counselors that advised Claudius to take the throne. (Kliman 1) Giving Hamlet

Modelling And Verification Of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks Essay
Modelling and Verification of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks
Anvay Kumar
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
The University of Auckland
Auckland, New Zealand akmu584@aucklanduni.ac.nz Abstract A step towards the research of
wireless time triggered networks was taken with the development of a new safety critical wireless
protocol called the Time Triggered New Zigbee (TTNZ) protocol. The methodology for developing
the TTNZ protocol involved Model Driven Engineering (MDE) and a tool called TimeMe which is an
IEC 61499 standard compliant software. MDE overcomes the limitations of the traditional approach
which does not guarantee consistent performance during the design and development phases of a
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) [1]. This safety critical wireless protocol, TTNZ, does not take into
consideration the irregularities of the physical (PHY) layer. The current project is undertaken to
consider the issue of timeliness with PHY layer abnormalities and accordingly use a measurement or
testing based approach to verify timeliness.
Index Terms TTNZ, Timeliness in Wireless Sensor Networks, PHY layer abnormalities. Introduction
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are revolutionizing the way people interact with the physical
world. The use of WSNs is rapidly growing in various types of applications. Some of these
applications have strong timeliness constraints [2]. Timeliness is a crucial factor in safety critical
applications. In general terms, timeliness refers to the

The Slave Next Door Analysis
The second part of The Slave Next Door, is a lot different than the first part. The second part is more
about the ways in which human trafficking can come to an end or ways to prevent it from occurring.
One of the main things that the second part talks about is on the need for more drastic state and federal
laws to discontinue human trafficking and to hold the government accountable for the persecution of
perpetrators and the assistance for victims. Besides the need of more state and federal laws, the
authors motivate the readers to act towards this issue. The authors did a great job of starting the
second part with a strong introduction that makes the reader feel that human trafficking exists and it
exists next to us. The harsh truth is, modern day slavery is in your town. You are not protected from it

Church Ministry Essay
The history itself of the decree on the ministry and life of the priests is an extensive one and difficult
to summarize. The possibility of having just a disciplinary decree dealing with practical matters of
ministry and spiritual life was considered, but the conciliar fathers gradually became more aware of
the need to say something in regards to the priests, something comparable to what the Council had
said about the bishops and the laity. That is to say, the decree would have to refer to the doctrine, but
they realized this a bit too late to make major changes. The last date for rejection of De Vita et
Ministerio Sacerdotali was October 19, 1964, there was only one more session of the council

However, this was not sufficient and did not satisfy those loyal to other ways of understanding the
priesthood, especially the French school. In distributing the first amendment to the text of the first
draft of Presbyterorum ordinis, just after acceptance of the amended text as the textus recognitus, the
archbishop François Marty summarized the discrepancy of views: As to the specific nature of the
ministry and life of the presbyters. In this case, two conceptions have been expressed which seem to
differ at first sight. One of them insists more on the consecration of the priest worked by the sacrament
of Orders, and on the personal union of the priest with Christ, who is the source of sanctity and
spiritual effectiveness. The other conception, however, insists on the mission of the priest, a mission
which he receives from Christ through the sacrament: that is, the priest, since he becomes an assistant
to the Order of Bishops, acts in the person of Christ for the edification of church. Fact is, both
conceptions bring to light an aspect of great importance in the ministry and life of the presbyters.
Therefore, the commission will be careful to show how both conceptions harmoniously combine and
are in fact completed, so that they go together in the unity of the priestly ministry. Nonconformities

Barbara Frietchie was a very important person in our history because she showed people that they
should stand up for what they believe in. Barbara Frietchie showed many people that you should stand
up for your beliefs no matter how hard you have to work for it. Barbara Frietchie showed us through
her acts of bravery, loyalty, and dedication to her country.
To begin with, Barbara Frietchie showed many acts of bravery to her country by saying that she would
rather die than have her flag disrespected. Bravery is an important part of this story because it can

Reflection Of Plato s View On Love By Socrates
Finally, toward the end of the Symposium, Socrates speaks, giving an accurate account of love and the
correct use of Eros. He opposes all of the other speakers and says that love is not all about our
pleasure and sexual deviances, but to either impregnate the body and give life, or to impregnate the
soul and pass on knowledge. Socrates speaks as if Eros is a love for the other person, to love someone
so much that you want to enter into a bond that results in child rearing or a love for mankind that you
want to share all your knowledge with them to better their soul. He continues that to be pregnant in the
soul is better than to be pregnant in the body because when we are pregnant in the soul, there is more
to be given to others then caring for a newborn. In this response from Socrates, it is hard to determine
if he has it completely correct. I would imagine that without people being pregnant in the body, we
would eventually run out of people to pass our knowledge on to. This, then, would have to be a
both/and situation where each has a calling to one or the other or both, and both forms of love would
then be equal. Socrates is then saying that love itself in not a god, but a messenger that is caught in
between the divine realm of immortality and the earthly realm of the mortal. Love then can reach the
heights of the gods bringing messages from man and returning to man with messages from god.
Socrates is now showing that there is some divine link between man and the divine, and this is love.
This also shines light on the fact that because each human had this link to the divine the human must
in some way be part divine and part animal. Because each human can love, can reason, and has these
animal instincts and desires, man must also be caught in between the divine and earthly worlds.
Because we cannot physically move into that divine realm, then we must have an entity that is part of
us and can move freely in between, this would be the soul. Socrates refutes all the other speeches
about taking young boys as lovers for one s own gratification and love being a god that permits all
thing in the name of pleasure. In conclusion, it is safe to say that, in our current era, Eros is absolutely

Aboriginal Inequality
Social Inequality with Canadian Aboriginals

Different ethnic backgrounds immigrate to Canada making it a very multicultural society. Immigrants
coming to Canada have made it progress to a more multicultural society, making other nations believe
that this is the case, however this does not include native societies that have been living in Canada for
the longest period of time. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how Aboriginals live in Canada.
This paper argues that aboriginals in Canada are not treated with the same equality as non aboriginals
livening in Canada, even though Canada is known as a multicultural society. By studying the history
of Aboriginal settlement in Canada ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They no longer get to own their land but at the same time they have to watch their land being taken
over. Over time this sense of group, or community disappears. Generations can no longer teach
younger generations about the importance of nature and therefore the history is slowly lost. Since they
lost their history and their connection to the land a lot of other parts of their culture and their beliefs
was taken away as well.
The main issue faced was losing a sense of their culture. Canada being a multicultural society, allows
for all people to practice their culture and they have the freedom to believe what they want. The
aboriginals lost that right when their land was taken over. It was lost because they no longer owned
their nature and it was taken over by technology and architecture, making them less united with the
forest and the land that they lived in. By taking over the land they were also forced to have to change
their education. In schools they were no longer allowed to learn Aboriginal culture. In 2002 by
studying Canadian schools it was said that as many as 30 percent of elementary students and 40
percent of high school students did not speak even a little of their Native tongues (Schissel, 2002). The
reason that this is the case can be because Aboriginal families stopped practicing their culture and
heritage at home therefore distancing the children from understanding where they came from. That is
not because they no longer

Drama Theatre Arts Class
We have been watching the in school performances for the Drama Theatre Arts classes every year
since eighth grade. To be apart of what I saw on stage was certainly a compelling experience. Being in
Drama Club, I understood what I was getting myself into. It was great to still being with students like
Nora and Alyssa who had a passion for theatre, but I also had to work with people who aren t as into
performing on stage. Theatre is a collaborative effort. Each group project provided an internal struggle
in the group. Either someone didn t know their lines, was uncomfortable on stage, or was just hard to
work with. I often found myself trying to hold a group together and solving their problems. I know I m
going to experience people like in the theatre world, so I am glad I have experience in group thinking

My Love For Photography Essay
Late elementary school afternoons at 2601 Parkside Drive were where my thirst for exploring the
world s clandestine beauties blossomed into something new. Whilst others engrossed themselves in
competitive foursquare and portable video games, I immersed myself in sketching images of places I
dreamt of visiting. All I needed was a pencil in my hand, a picturesque landscape on my mind, and my
Canson sketchbook on the table. The possibilities were then endless. Slowly, the tabula rasa of this
book filled to the brim with a lust to explore and innovate. Inside, Vietnamese villages that I had once
seen on the Internet were now laden with sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. Iceland s greenery
was now characterized by tropical rainforests and towering skyscrapers. Venice s magnificent canals
were now surrounded by great expanses of icy mountain ranges. Over the years, as this lust diffused

Mastering the camera s effects to manipulate photos illustrated this beauty of perspective diversity
leaving shots overexposed, oversaturated, too wide and too narrow revealed life in different lights. As
a child, I placed my finger on the shutter release of my curiosity and heard two simultaneous clicks,
one for sketching and the other for photography. They changed me; they caused the pitch black
display of my individuality to fade into a beautiful mélange of colors, each one representing a new
creative spark. These sparks then swathed the waters of my consciousness like fire across paper,

The Presidential Election of 2004 Essay
Analyze the Presidential election of 2004. What happened and why?
Analyze the changing nature of the media and how that is affecting politics.
The two questions identified above cannot be adequately answered alone without one influencing the
other because a campaign that influences the election of the most powerful position in the world is a
public event. However, after months of predictions of a too close to call contest, Bush won nationwide
balloting making him the 15th president elected to a second term and the first to win both a majority
of the popular vote and the Electoral College since his father in 1988. The GOP also extended its
majorities in the House and Senate.
The Presidential election followed a political campaign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who opposed the president did so because of his decision to go to war in Iraq and how it was
carried out and their nervousness about the economy. As it turned out Kerry s vote was anti Bush, it
wasn t pro Kerry.
Voter turnout hit record highs nationally, and the total for Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney was
higher than any previous presidential ticket. Some of the greatest percentage gains over 2000 came in
13 states that were the battleground in the presidential election. Millions of dollars were spent on TV
ads and voter mobilization. Interestingly, Democratic strategists had predicted that turnout at those
levels would assure victory. But Democratic voter drives were matched in large part by Republicans,
particularly religious conservatives.
Voters conveyed a sense of urgency about Iraq, and their top priority for President Bush to tackle after
his re election. Iraq was followed by terrorism among voters leading concerns. Voters also conveyed
they want the President to cut the deficit and balance the budget rather than reducing taxes.
After a campaign dominated by discussion of Iraq and terrorism, national security issues were at the
top of voters concerns along with the economy. Many voters indicated through their votes they were
also concerned about quot;moral values quot;. This election confirmed that we are a divided nation,
not only politically, but in terms of our interpretation of religion. The

Pride In The Necklace
What exactly is pride? Pride is a great love of your accomplishments or the accomplishments of
somebody whose accomplishments you can claim as your own, like a daughter. This is one of the
relationships (mother daughter) that is altered, for the worse, by pride. Pride can be a wonderful tool
used to bring about confidence and give somebody the courage to step outside the relative comfort
zone they usually hold. However, that is not typically the case, for pride is usually found in excessive
amounts. This excessive pride leads to horrible consequences if one is not careful about hiding it. For
Meimei, Mathilde, and Doodle s brother, pride becomes a corrupting factor, damaging both their lives
and their relationships. Rules of the Game ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doodle s brother suffered from pride, and although he was customarily kind to his brother and taught
him to walk, he did it for the wrong reasons. Furthermore, an expression of how terrible his brother
feels because of his pride is shown in a passage that says: They did not know that I did it for myself;
that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices, and that Doodle walked only
because I was ashamed of having a crippled brother (Hurst 389). This passage literally states that
Doodle s brother was pride s slave, and it was only because of this slavery that he had taught Doodle
how to walk. Nevertheless, this is not where his pride reaches its climax, and it is this extreme climax
of pride that definitely does the uttermost damage to their relationship. After receiving immense praise
from his family, Doodle s brother decides to push Doodle harder and harder, hoping that by doing this
Doodle will earn his the praise his pride demands. Furthermore, Doodle did reach his limit; he died
after being pushed, surpassing his natural limitations and being abandoned by the person who is
supposed to protect him. It is when this happens that the significance of the title is revealed, not when

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world,
enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably
related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation
Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The
fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related
to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by
creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a
method of responding to the notion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems,
specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem)
which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits
which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there
exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of
their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem
equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in
the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive)
and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive
assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the
disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such
permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement
the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by
David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the
environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

Madness and Control in Ken Kesey s One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest
Ken Kesey s One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest is a story revolving around Chief Bromden, a
schizophrenic patient in a ward who pretends to be deaf and stupid. The ward is controlled by a nurse
named Nurse Ratched. Nurse Ratched has a strict system of control over the ward and her patients,
choosing staff members whom follow her loyally. In the ward we have two types of patients; the
Acutes and the Chronics, the Acutes are those whom can still be treated and can become model
citizens while the Chronics are those who the staff believe are long past saving. Chief, the narrator is a
Chronic and looks at the happenings within the ward from a passive point of view.
One day, Randle McMurphy a newly admitted patient, tears up the place by introducing gambling and
other unsightly games into the ward, he does this to undermine and usurp the staff s control and order,
but in particular Nurse Ratched s authority. This threatens her and she has a momentary break down.
One can argue that threatened by the patient s and despite her cover of control Nurse Ratched actually
feels out of control inside, and with the possibility she is not so well herself. This is supported when in
the book Nurse Ratched discusses with another nurse what type of person McMurphy is, she says he s;
controlling and manipulative of others to his own ends, using others as stepping stones to

Pappenheimer s were tortured discriminatorily and deserved a chance to speak the truth without
torture inflicted upon them. Before they were even given a chance to speak, Duke Maximilian ordered
the councilor to send the family to get tortured. Michael Kunze states, Duke Maximilian certainly

Analysis Of The Article The Internet Sales Industry
The Internet Sales Industry October 9, 2015 Terri Lowe

A Porter analysis will be performed throughout this paper, on the internet sales industry. Included in
the Porter analysis is six relative competitive forces; threat of new entrants, rivalry amongst firms,
threat of substitute services, bargaining power of buyers, bargaining power of suppliers, and relative
power of other stakeholders. Threat of New Entrants: Medium
With the new age of technology we have entered, it would seem simple to enter the internet sales
industry but things are not always as they seem. Entering the internet sales industry will prove to be a

New entrants must also consider how well existing companies have mastered the art of converting
combining customer and third party seller data together, and converting it into useful information for
future customers. Customers are able to see previous customer reviews and seller ratings without even
meeting the seller. The transparency of sellers, provide customers with the comfort of knowing what
type of seller they are dealing with before a transaction even occurs. New entrants to the industry
would not be able to provide potential customers with the same transparency seller transparency that
an existing seller would be able to (eBay, 2010). Rivalry among Existing Firms: High
Competition within the internet sales industry is fierce and innovation is the way internet retailers are
looking to grab the top spot. Internet retailers such as Walmart are following in the path of competitors
and building fulfillment centers left and right to allow for faster delivery to customers. Many internet
retailers have explored the possibilities of drone delivery, using customers to deliver products to other
customers on their way home, and allowing customers to pick up products out of lockers in stores so
they don t have to wait in line; these competitive strategies internet retailers are seeking to implement

A Criminal Deserves To Be Punished In Proportion To The
A criminal deserves to be punished in proportion to the crime he or she has committed. Society
deserves retribution. The retentionists argue that the death penalty is a proportionate punishment for
particularly awful crimes and they use pathos to make us sympathize with the victims of these crimes.
Paul G. Cassell presents the case of Kenneth Allen McDuff who raped, tortured and murdered at least
nine women.i Louis P. Pojman mentions Steven Judy who raped and murdered a woman and drowned
her three children.ii Perhaps they are successful in their attempt to to lure us in to a sympathetic,
vulnerable state. But it is not appropriate to judge a whole system based on individual cases. The

This is not the case, the process is complicated and inconsistant. The offender must first be convicted
of first degree murder which Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Cardozo said ...is much to vague... and
then the jury usually must find at least one aggravating circumstance.v And Each state has broad limits
within wich they can change the grounds of the death penalty. So, the same exact crime can happen in
two different states and in one case the perpetrator will be sentenced to life in prison and in the other
case death.vi As Stephen B. Bright points out, Huston and Philadelphia has sought the death penalty in
every case they can, while the Manhattan and Bronx District Attorneys have not sought the death
penalty in a single case.vii Capital punishment cannot be necessary retribution if life imprisonment is
enough for the same kind of crime. A moral action cannot be valid if it doesn t apply to everyone in
the same position. But what do we do with the worst of the worst? How do we make sure that their
punishment is worse than the others? As Stephen B. Bright points out, we do have maximum security
prisons, where the worst of the worst can be punished as well as isolated from both the public, the
guards and the other prisoners.viii The

Abortion Should Not Be Legal
There must be a point in which the law acknowledges a life in all stages of development. Allowing
late term abortion is taking away the rights of life to healthy babies. An abortion can be carried out
any where from thirteen to thirty nine weeks. Some doctors say that late term abortions are only done
when medically necessary. However, there is evidence to prove that this is not always the case. In
order to save healthy babies lives, late term abortion needs to be illegal unless it is truly a medical
emergency. There are supposed to be laws in place to make sure that late term abortions are done only
when the mothers health is at risk. However, these laws are so cryptic, that when using the word
health, almost any medical issue a mother or their unborn baby has, can qualify for an abortion. The
laws also suggest, that at any point during a woman s pregnancy she may have an abortion. Ron
Fitzsimmon, the Executive Director of the National Coalition of abortion, confessed that most partial
births or late term abortions were done on completely healthy babies and mothers.
In addition, three out of four abortions that were done by abortionist, Dr.Tiller, were preformed on
teens who were in denial of their pregnancy. Until the teens could no longer hide their condition from
their parents, they proceeded with an abortion with out any real medical reasoning. Also, surveys
taken by women who have gotten late term abortions, showed that they received an abortion because

Gangs Of New York Film Analysis
1) Immigration (Irish) Potatoe s were a staple in the Irish diet but in the 1840 s the potato crops were
mysteriously rotting and dying. This spread all across the fields of Ireland causing a famine. The
famine lasted for about six years and killed over a million men, women, and children in Ireland. It also
caused many of the Irish to immigrate to America to survive. The film Gangs of New York takes place
at the five points in lower Manhattan. The Nativists who believed that they were the true native
americans controlled the five points and are ruled by the character Bill Cutting. Cutting was marked as
the leader on the Nativists after being the one who killed Priest Vallon. Vallon was the leader of the

trying to prevent immigrants from being a part of their society. Employers would put signs up in the
window of their store that said No Irish Need Apply . They did this to prevent any Irish from asking
for a job. The natives would not allow the immigrants to work for them. The natives called immigrants
many different names and told them to go back where they came from while throwing things at them
as they were unloading off of ships. Bill Cutting held a celebration every year to remember the day he
slayed Priest Vallon. The scene shows many natives gathered around watching Cutting entertain for
them with his knife skills. They celebrate and cheer as Cutting drinks a glass of alchohol that is lit on
fire. Amsterdam planned to kill Cutting to avenge the death of his father. His attempts fail and Cutting
starts to ask the crowd how he should kill him and punish him. The crowd goes wild, cheering and
yelling out ways to punish Amsterdam. They knew who he was and that he was the son of Vallon. The
Nativists took part in cruel acts to protect their interests and believed theirs were worth protecting

How Memories From The Brain Is Capable Of Retrieving...
Every time I learn the name of a student, I forget the name of a fish was once said by David Jordan,
the president of Stanford University (Anderson, Bjork Bjork, 2000). This statement is interesting
because it brings up the idea of the amount of information one can consume and maintain available at
any given time; this information is put into memory. Memory is the process of maintaining,
recovering, and applying information about episodes and events, when the original material is not
current (Goldstein, 2008, p. 136). This definition mean even if we have not just experience that
memory, our brain can go back in time and retrieve what has happened hours, days or years ago.
Retrieving memories from the brain is the process of relocating material from Long Term Memory
(LTM) back into working memory, where it becomes available through consciousness (Goldstein,
2008, p. 197). Our brain is capable of retrieving information because it has been encoded. Encoding is
the process of obtaining information then converting it into memories, in which goes onto our LTM
(Goldstein, 2008, p. 196). The main claim of this essay is that is that if a memory is encoded correctly,
then that is all that is needed for memory failure or success and the process of retrieving memories
also relies on the encoding of the memory. Meanwhile, this claim that encoding is all that is needed
for memory failure or success was researched by Craik and Lockhart (1972, as described by
Goldstein, 2008, p.

The League Of Legends World Championship
Imagine an enormous arena completely filled with screaming, ecstatic fans cheering for their
corresponding teams that have come to compete that day. Behind the scenes, the athletes are nervous,
they are about to compete in the biggest, most important event of their lives. However, they are
professionals, so they have trained a majority of their lives for this moment, constantly practicing their
craft, going over film, and working alongside their teammates in order to achieve their ultimate goal,
winning the championship. This description at first look may seem to be describing a championship
sporting event such as the NBA Finals, the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals or even the World Cup
Final. However, none of these events are what is being depicted. What is actually being illustrated is
the finals for numerous Esports competitions such as the League of Legends World Championship or
the StarCraft World Championship Series. Ever since the first invention of video games, there has
always been a stigma that came with being a gamer. Gamers have always been labeled as geeky,
nerdy, immature, and even fat and lazy. Some of the public s perception of Esports as well as their
desire to not have it labeled as a real sport in Esports brief history exemplifies the stigma and negative
connotation of the word gamer. However, in the increasingly innovative and technological modern
world, the idea that Esports should not socially or legally be considered to be a real sport has become

Causes Of Neururodevelopmental Disorders
Based on the fact that ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, there have been multiple studies
researching the neuroanatomical abnormalities found in ASD individuals. There have been a number
of those abnormalities associated with ASD (Donovan Basson, 2017). In the most recent study,
Donovan Basson, found the frontal cortex and the amygdala of an ASD individual s brain during the
early postnatal period has a tendency to overgrow followed by normalization, or even decrease, in
volume and cellularity, when compared to neurotypical individuals (2017). They described the
function of the frontal cortex of the brain to be in charge of executive functions (e.g., higher order

From the results of the study, the investigators found that the participants with ASD showed lower
correct response rates for recognizing affect via emotional words and facial emoticons. They also
found that the part of the brain, called the fusiform gyrus, in the participants with ASD had a greater
activation rate during emotional word tasks when compared to their typically developing peers.
Interestingly, the investigators found that the fusiform gyrus of the participants with ASD had less of
an activation response to facial emoticons when compared to their typically developing peers (Han et
al., 2014).
Studies have also shown that the difficulty that individuals with ASD have with the acquisition and
understanding of humor is the effect of their deficits in theory of mind (ToM) (Semrud Clikeman
Glass, 2008; Jaegher, 2013; Samson, 2013; Whyte, Nelson, Scherf, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). Theory of
mind can be defined as the ability to understand and assign beliefs, traits, and emotions to oneself and
others, in other words the ability to put oneself in another s shoes (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008;
Samson, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). ToM is a complex linguistic ability (Wu et al., 2014). Emerich et al.,
found from their study that there was no specific sequence in the individuals with ASDs reasoning

Pet Mental Health
Mental Health Pets can have a variety of different impacts on a person s mental health. Pet owners are
less likely to suffer from various mental health issues such as lethargy (having a lack of energy),
apathy (being uninterested or unenthusiastic), insomnia (the inability to sleep), depression (feeling
despondent, dejected, or in low spirits), and substance abuse (such as alcoholism or drug addictions).
Pets can aid people suffering from depression by helping them ignore their problems for a period of
time, and contribute to clearing their minds. Routine is also important for people who are depressed,
and pets require daily routines, such as feeding times, walks, and downtime. People with substance
abuse problems can be helped by pets as well. Pets can help to calm people down and reduce tension,
which can make it easier for people to open up and talk about their problems, so others (and
themselves) can determine the best way to aid them in their recovery. Pets can also give people
confidence so they feel ready to face their problems. Often addicts focus primarily on themselves, and
because pets require a lot of attention and are a large responsibility, they can remind people suffering
from substance abuse to think about the needs of others, as well as their own. Petting or stroking a pet

Ethics Paper--Bailout
Bailout Ethics
Americans are outraged. Billions of taxpayer dollars were committed last year to rescuing firms such
as Citigroup and the American International Group (AIG). Earlier this year, several companies who
received Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) assistance were awarding top executives with
extravagant bonuses. According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. government lent $238 billion in
TARP taxpayer funds to almost 700 banks; 44 of these banks have repaid a $71 billion (Johnston, para
6). There remains $167 billion invested in banks. Some critics argue that a mere $167 billion is not
significant to warrant public indignation against bonuses. However, the issue is not about specific
bonus amounts but the principle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In another example of applying the Rights Approach to bailout bonuses, AIG tells a different story. In
March 2010, AIG is scheduled to distribute yet another $198 million in bonuses to its financial
products employees largely seen as responsible for the firm s failure (Collins, para 11). This will result
in almost $400 million in bonus payments since receiving government assistance (Collins, para 11).
As mentioned previously, AIG does not have a moral right to these bonuses. It would be similar to
someone taking an elaborate vacation just before filing for bankruptcy and expecting the government
to finance his unnecessary expense.
Common Good Approach: Definition and Analysis
In a globalized world, the Common Good Approach has increased in relevance for judging ethical
behavior. It presents a vision of society as a community whose members are joined in the shared
pursuit of values and goals they hold in common (Markkula, para 12). This Approach calls attention to
the conditions that are important to the common welfare of everyone. The principle states: What is
ethical is what advances the common good (Markkula, para 12). The common goal when considering
the bailout is a stable economy. What remains unanswered is why some financial institutions, such as
JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, were helped with TARP funds while other banks, such as Bear
Stearns and Lehman Brothers, were allowed to

How Did Machiavelli s Political Views Influence American...
In The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes about 16th century principalities and how
its princes should act. However, while these ideals may seem dated, Machiavelli s description holds
many similarities and differences to American politics today. Machiavelli s views on republics serve
as the first difference between his political views and the American government. Machiavelli generally
puts those in a republic in a negative light by claiming that the subjects of a republic are not used to
standing up for themselves and cannot agree to give themselves a leader. Therefore, it is not a sturdy
government to capture. Instead of finding the idea of no singular person being a leader a good way to
ensure statewide cooperation and content, Machiavelli claims that, In republics there is more vitality,
greater hatred, and more desire for vengeance, (Machiavelli, Chapter V). Which is a far cry to the
American government s oath to all of its freedoms and liberties. Machiavelli moves on to say that the
safest way to capture a republic state is to destroy it altogether. This shows his views on republics are
very much negative and that he believes they are almost a nuisance to a prince trying to maintain a
state. Of course this is a drastic difference to the American government, where its subjects thrive in a
republic. In other words, while Machiavelli believes no state could be maintained as a republic, the
American government proves that it could still be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 3. The Nature Of Bernard Shaw s Eliza Doolittle Ah ah oh ow ow ow oo! I wont be called a baggage when Ive offered to pay like any lady. such is the nature of Bernard Shaw s Eliza Doolittle in the excerpt from his play Pygmalion. Eliza is a young woman with a cockney accent who sells flowers on the street, yet desires to work in an actual flower shop; however, the shop won t accept her because of her speech. In an effort to pursue this vision, she asks phonetics professor Higgins, to teach her how to speak like a lady worthy of the flower shop. Despite her common upbringing, Eliza s self determination prompts help from those around her. Eliza has a common upbringing to which her attire, speech, and conduct allude. Wearing a nearly clean apron and a shoddy coat [that] has been tidied a little, she dresses modestly and humbly. Unlike the high class s genteel speech, she speaks unrefined English. Eliza tends to have an innocent air and naive outlook on life that shows in her thoughts and actions. Like a child, she gets excited about taking a taxi; and when tempted with chocolates, she excuses herself in eating it by protesting, I wouldnt have ate it, only I m too ladylike to take it out of my mouth. Even the other characters consider her childish. For example, their first impression of her elicits feelings of pathos...with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pickering is the first to help her by kindly offering to pay for the lessons [with Higgins]. After this proposition, not only is Higgins more inclined to teach her how to speak like a lady, but he is also inclined to make a duchess of her. As he continues to degrade and insult her, even Mrs. Pearce defends her by scolding Higgins, You must be reasonable, Mr Higgins: really you must. You cant walk over everybody like this. After being treated so insensitively by Higgins who s absorbed with his eccentric ideas, Eliza finds herself apprehensively accepting aid from him and his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Hybrid Cars And Its Effects On The Environment Essay In this day and age people argue more often about which kind of car is better overall; is it the internal combustion engine, ICE, or hybrid car? Consumers are led to believe through advertisements and online articles that hybrids are a better buy because of their reduced impact on the environment, and ease of use. These reasons are in fact false because hybrid cars are no better for the environment because of their production emissions and other variables. There is a growing scientific consensus that increasing levels of greenhouse gas emissions are changing the earth s climate. Also oil prices continue to skyrocket while tougher regulations and policies on permitted exhaust gases are being instituted in major cities of the world. These and some other related issues are compelling vehicle manufacturers to come up with fuel efficient vehicles. These types of vehicles are known as hybrid electric vehicles (Omoigui). Since their invention, most cars use an internal combustion engine, which is what all engines that use a fuel and pistons. These ICE cars run off of only gas and other forms of fossil fuels. On the other side of the spectrum, there have more recently been completely electric cars that are quiet and have a large amount of batteries. In the middle of these two is the hybrid car; there are six different kinds of hybrid configurations between the ICE and the batteries all with pros and cons. Some reduce emissions of the ICE and others increase the torque on the axle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Alpena Stats Study Cassie and I have conducted an experiment for our Probs and Stats project. We did and experiment to see if listening to music during a test affect your scores. This experiment is relative by most of the students in Alpena High listen to music. As a result of this experiment we were hoping that listening to either classical or rap improves test scores. Our population size is the students at Alpena High. Therefore, narrowing it down to AP classes in the morning as our sample size. In this experiment we had four variables, which is advance students (categorical), time of day (categorical), type of music (categorical) and our time interval of one minute (quantitative). As a result of our variables a T test would be best because, we won t know the population deviation. On the other hand, our randomization issue we decided to have a different test for each class, as well as each day (3 days). Then each day we rotated classical, rap and no music in each class.Meanwhile our sampling method would be a cluster sampling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At least 10 minutes was taken up of each class so we could do the experiment. One of us went to the front and explain why we are doing it and what they were doing, while the other person passed out the test. Giving them a minute to the test. Then later in class we graded all the test. Once we got all the test for the three days we got each class averages and compare how they class did within the three days. Also compared all of the rap, all the classical and all the no music. • 7. Who Is Martin Luther King On Christian Liberty The battle for liberty has been fought on different scales with the beginning of thousands of revolutions in the history. The ideal liberty is an ultimate goal that inflames the minds of many people who yearn for individual freedom. In all these struggles, the definition of liberty is not the same for different people. According to the text, the idea of liberty has played a powerful role in the history of Western society and culture, but the meaning and understanding of liberty has undergone continual change and interpretation. For example in the Roman world, liberty meant the condition of being a free man. In the Middle Ages, liberty meant having special privileges or rights. However, the idea of liberty under religious dimension was rather new. Martin Luther King had interpreted another important foundation of liberty in his treatise On Christian Liberty: the important of faith and Scripture to Christian life. King meant of liberty was based not on articulation of justification by faith alone but through the word of Gospel. Perhaps, people should have liberty in terms of their connection to God not controlled or managed by the Church. King understood human liberty, broadly, as the capacity for a spiritual, new and inward man to make a man a justified, free and true Christian. According to King, Christian man is the most free lord of all, and subject to none. Of course, faith gives us true Christian liberty. We are free from the law as regards our salvation. ... • 8. My First Car Research Paper My first car, which is also my current car, is the best/most beautiful car I ve ever had. I have a standard 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, and it has a nice maroon color, unfortunately with some pretty bad sun damage. I think of it as a female and named her Misty, when I first got her she was perfect just wished that the owner who had before didn t take off her logo from the front and back. The back bumper is custom as well as the side skirts. After my timing belt came loose we learned that the owner before me didn t put it on right, so after the mechanics fixed her up the front bumper was somehow extra loose. Now we have a pretty floppy front bumper, as for other aspects of her outer beauty, she has a nice spoiler, fogged up headlights, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other than that it really doesn t have any other smell, which can also be bad because under the hot sun my back would start sweating which gives it a temporal unpleasant smell. I will purchase some car fresheners whenever I get the chance to. Also, I have some bizarre items inside, I ve got a plastic garden flamingo sitting in my trunk right next to some drum heads, a bag full of paintballs with some slingshots, and some styrofoam. Just some crazy stuff picked up on my wild adventures with friends, most of the times we would take my car when we re out and about making some stupid fun decisions. On the passenger side the dash for some reason is a dark blue color, not really matching with the black and red, I do intend to do something about that soon. I really do love driving my car, putting it into gear and just smashing in the gas is a great one. When I drove Misty for the first time, also driving standard for the first time, It felt difficult. Kept stalling it on up hill slopes, grinding her gears, and making very wide turns. Although as I kept driving her, even when I wasn t supposed to, it started becoming second nature. Now, It s a feeling. Whenever I shift gears it feels perfect and comfortable. Honestly whenever I drive her I can t resist but speed just a little. It s just a little risky even when you have no ... The Neanderthals According to the consensus view, the Neanderthals lived 250,000 to 30,000 years BP (Before the Present), they were very primitive, looked more like gorillas than men, led a short brutish life, and died on average at the age of forty five. According to my research, they were built more powerfully than modern Humans. Their thicker tendons and ligaments, attached to heavier bones, gave them superior strength, and the capacity of leaping high to hunt large animals. One of their back muscles, that Humans have lost, added tremendous force and precision for throwing an object such as a lance, or for handling a sword. Their voluminous rib cage gave superior stamina during any effort. Their eyesight was much sharper than that of modern Humans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Polonius Traits Polonius is an overly devoted character that is portrayed to be more concerned with the preservation of his own reputation than the wellbeing of his own children, Laertes and Ophelia. He is described as a man bred in courts, exercised in business, stored with observation, confident in his knowledge, proud of his eloquence, all declining into dotage (Shakespeare s char... 1), and presents no redeeming quality s In Act 1, scene 3, Polonius orders Laertes and Ophelia, to follow his instructions regarding proper behavior. ( 2.2.120 ), Claudius replies As of a man faithful and honorable ( 2.2.120). Because of this, Polonius appears to be relatively vain, and his arrogance becomes greatly pronounced. When questioned upon his knowledge he even goes as far as to use his own daughter, Ophelia, to gain information on Hamlet to aid himself and Claudius. These negative manipulative traits are again exemplified as he urges Gertrude to find out about Hamlets motives. He again masks his instructions as advice he states; Tell him his pranks have been to broad to bear with and that you grace hath screen d and stood between heat and him (3.4.5). Polonius s motives for favoring the king so greatly, are not textually funded because the play does not state much about Polonius s history. Although, It could be inferred that Polonius had been the counselor of Old Hamlet, which would suggest a motive for Hamlets hostility. But a more ideal argument is that Polonius had been a part Of Claudius s court prior to Old Hamlets death. There is support for the nation of royals for having their own Courts, their own Courtiers and followers ( Bernice W. Kliman 1 ). Polonius in fact, states that he had long been Claudius s counselor Hath there been such a time, I would fain know that, that I have positively said, tis so, When it proved otherwise? ( 2.2.150 ). If these arrangements here commonly known, it is arguable that Polonius could have been among the counselors that advised Claudius to take the throne. • 11. Modelling And Verification Of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks Essay Modelling and Verification of Vehicular Ad hoc Networks Anvay Kumar Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering The University of Auckland Auckland, New Zealand akmu584@aucklanduni.ac.nz Abstract A step towards the research of wireless time triggered networks was taken with the development of a new safety critical wireless protocol called the Time Triggered New Zigbee (TTNZ) protocol. The methodology for developing the TTNZ protocol involved Model Driven Engineering (MDE) and a tool called TimeMe which is an IEC 61499 standard compliant software. MDE overcomes the limitations of the traditional approach which does not guarantee consistent performance during the design and development phases of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) [1]. This safety critical wireless protocol, TTNZ, does not take into consideration the irregularities of the physical (PHY) layer. The current project is undertaken to consider the issue of timeliness with PHY layer abnormalities and accordingly use a measurement or testing based approach to verify timeliness. Index Terms TTNZ, Timeliness in Wireless Sensor Networks, PHY layer abnormalities. Introduction Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are revolutionizing the way people interact with the physical world. The second part is more about the ways in which human trafficking can come to an end or ways to prevent it from occurring. One of the main things that the second part talks about is on the need for more drastic state and federal laws to discontinue human trafficking and to hold the government accountable for the persecution of perpetrators and the assistance for victims. Besides the need of more state and federal laws, the authors motivate the readers to act towards this issue. The authors did a great job of starting the second part with a strong introduction that makes the reader feel that human trafficking exists and it exists next to us. • 13. Church Ministry Essay The history itself of the decree on the ministry and life of the priests is an extensive one and difficult to summarize. The possibility of having just a disciplinary decree dealing with practical matters of ministry and spiritual life was considered, but the conciliar fathers gradually became more aware of the need to say something in regards to the priests, something comparable to what the Council had said about the bishops and the laity. That is to say, the decree would have to refer to the doctrine, but they realized this a bit too late to make major changes. The last date for rejection of De Vita et Ministerio Sacerdotali was October 19, 1964, there was only one more session of the council remaining at this time. In a little over a ... In this case, two conceptions have been expressed which seem to differ at first sight. One of them insists more on the consecration of the priest worked by the sacrament of Orders, and on the personal union of the priest with Christ, who is the source of sanctity and spiritual effectiveness. The other conception, however, insists on the mission of the priest, a mission which he receives from Christ through the sacrament: that is, the priest, since he becomes an assistant to the Order of Bishops, acts in the person of Christ for the edification of church. Fact is, both conceptions bring to light an aspect of great importance in the ministry and life of the presbyters. Therefore, the commission will be careful to show how both conceptions harmoniously combine and are in fact completed, so that they go together in the unity of the priestly ministry. • 15. Reflection Of Plato s View On Love By Socrates Finally, toward the end of the Symposium, Socrates speaks, giving an accurate account of love and the correct use of Eros. He opposes all of the other speakers and says that love is not all about our pleasure and sexual deviances, but to either impregnate the body and give life, or to impregnate the soul and pass on knowledge. Socrates speaks as if Eros is a love for the other person, to love someone so much that you want to enter into a bond that results in child rearing or a love for mankind that you want to share all your knowledge with them to better their soul. He continues that to be pregnant in the soul is better than to be pregnant in the body because when we are pregnant in the soul, there is more to be given to others then caring for a newborn. In this response from Socrates, it is hard to determine if he has it completely correct. I would imagine that without people being pregnant in the body, we would eventually run out of people to pass our knowledge on to. This, then, would have to be a both/and situation where each has a calling to one or the other or both, and both forms of love would then be equal. Socrates is then saying that love itself in not a god, but a messenger that is caught in between the divine realm of immortality and the earthly realm of the mortal. Love then can reach the heights of the gods bringing messages from man and returning to man with messages from god. Socrates is now showing that there is some divine link between man and the divine, and this is love. This also shines light on the fact that because each human had this link to the divine the human must in some way be part divine and part animal. Because each human can love, can reason, and has these animal instincts and desires, man must also be caught in between the divine and earthly worlds. Because we cannot physically move into that divine realm, then we must have an entity that is part of us and can move freely in between, this would be the soul. Socrates refutes all the other speeches about taking young boys as lovers for one s own gratification and love being a god that permits all thing in the name of pleasure. In conclusion, it is safe to say that, in our current era, Eros is absolutely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since they lost their history and their connection to the land a lot of other parts of their culture and their beliefs was taken away as well. The main issue faced was losing a sense of their culture. Canada being a multicultural society, allows for all people to practice their culture and they have the freedom to believe what they want. The aboriginals lost that right when their land was taken over. It was lost because they no longer owned their nature and it was taken over by technology and architecture, making them less united with the forest and the land that they lived in. By taking over the land they were also forced to have to change their education. In schools they were no longer allowed to learn Aboriginal culture. In 2002 by studying Canadian schools it was said that as many as 30 percent of elementary students and 40 percent of high school students did not speak even a little of their Native tongues (Schissel, 2002). An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. Allowing late term abortion is taking away the rights of life to healthy babies. An abortion can be carried out any where from thirteen to thirty nine weeks. Some doctors say that late term abortions are only done when medically necessary. However, there is evidence to prove that this is not always the case. In order to save healthy babies lives, late term abortion needs to be illegal unless it is truly a medical emergency. There are supposed to be laws in place to make sure that late term abortions are done only when the mothers health is at risk. However, these laws are so cryptic, that when using the word health, almost any medical issue a mother or their unborn baby has, can qualify for an abortion. • 29. How Memories From The Brain Is Capable Of Retrieving... Every time I learn the name of a student, I forget the name of a fish was once said by David Jordan, the president of Stanford University (Anderson, Bjork Bjork, 2000). This statement is interesting because it brings up the idea of the amount of information one can consume and maintain available at any given time; this information is put into memory. Memory is the process of maintaining, recovering, and applying information about episodes and events, when the original material is not current (Goldstein, 2008, p. 136). This definition mean even if we have not just experience that memory, our brain can go back in time and retrieve what has happened hours, days or years ago. Retrieving memories from the brain is the process of relocating material from Long Term Memory (LTM) back into working memory, where it becomes available through consciousness (Goldstein, 2008, p. 197). Our brain is capable of retrieving information because it has been encoded. Encoding is the process of obtaining information then converting it into memories, in which goes onto our LTM (Goldstein, 2008, p. 196). The main claim of this essay is that is that if a memory is encoded correctly, then that is all that is needed for memory failure or success and the process of retrieving memories also relies on the encoding of the memory. Meanwhile, this claim that encoding is all that is needed for memory failure or success was researched by Craik and Lockhart (1972, as described by Goldstein, 2008, p. ... Behind the scenes, the athletes are nervous, they are about to compete in the biggest, most important event of their lives. However, they are professionals, so they have trained a majority of their lives for this moment, constantly practicing their craft, going over film, and working alongside their teammates in order to achieve their ultimate goal, winning the championship. This description at first look may seem to be describing a championship sporting event such as the NBA Finals, the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals or even the World Cup Final. However, none of these events are what is being depicted. What is actually being illustrated is the finals for numerous Esports competitions such as the League of Legends World Championship or the StarCraft World Championship Series. Ever since the first invention of video games, there has always been a stigma that came with being a gamer. Gamers have always been labeled as geeky, nerdy, immature, and even fat and lazy. Some of the public s perception of Esports as well as their desire to not have it labeled as a real sport in Esports brief history exemplifies the stigma and negative connotation of the word gamer. However, in the increasingly innovative and technological modern world, the idea that Esports should not socially or legally be considered to be a real sport has become ... • 31. Causes Of Neururodevelopmental Disorders Based on the fact that ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, there have been multiple studies researching the neuroanatomical abnormalities found in ASD individuals. There have been a number of those abnormalities associated with ASD (Donovan Basson, 2017). In the most recent study, Donovan Basson, found the frontal cortex and the amygdala of an ASD individual s brain during the early postnatal period has a tendency to overgrow followed by normalization, or even decrease, in volume and cellularity, when compared to neurotypical individuals (2017). They described the function of the frontal cortex of the brain to be in charge of executive functions (e.g., higher order cognitive processing planning, decision making, working memory, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the results of the study, the investigators found that the participants with ASD showed lower correct response rates for recognizing affect via emotional words and facial emoticons. They also found that the part of the brain, called the fusiform gyrus, in the participants with ASD had a greater activation rate during emotional word tasks when compared to their typically developing peers. Interestingly, the investigators found that the fusiform gyrus of the participants with ASD had less of an activation response to facial emoticons when compared to their typically developing peers (Han et al., 2014). Studies have also shown that the difficulty that individuals with ASD have with the acquisition and understanding of humor is the effect of their deficits in theory of mind (ToM) (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008; Jaegher, 2013; Samson, 2013; Whyte, Nelson, Scherf, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). Theory of mind can be defined as the ability to understand and assign beliefs, traits, and emotions to oneself and others, in other words the ability to put oneself in another s shoes (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008; Samson, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). ToM is a complex linguistic ability (Wu et al., 2014). Emerich et al., found from their study that there was no specific sequence in the individuals with ASDs reasoning through the text of ... • 32. Pet Mental Health Mental Health Pets can have a variety of different impacts on a person s mental health. Pet owners are less likely to suffer from various mental health issues such as lethargy (having a lack of energy), apathy (being uninterested or unenthusiastic), insomnia (the inability to sleep), depression (feeling despondent, dejected, or in low spirits), and substance abuse (such as alcoholism or drug addictions). Pets can aid people suffering from depression by helping them ignore their problems for a period of time, and contribute to clearing their minds. Routine is also important for people who are depressed, and pets require daily routines, such as feeding times, walks, and downtime. People with substance abuse problems can be helped by pets as well. Pets can help to calm people down and reduce tension, which can make it easier for people to open up and talk about their problems, so others (and themselves) can determine the best way to aid them in their recovery. Pets can also give people confidence so they feel ready to face their problems. Often addicts focus primarily on themselves, and because pets require a lot of attention and are a large responsibility, they can remind people suffering from substance abuse to think about the needs of others, as well as their own. Petting or stroking a pet releases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pets can help children by teaching them empathy. Caring for a pet requires them to think about what the pet wants and needs, which teaches them to think about others the same way. Taking care of a pet also teaches them responsibility, and that certain duties are not an option because someone else is relying on them to do what they are assigned. Owning a pet can raise their self esteem, therefore they participate in more social and physical activities such as sports, clubs, bands, and other group ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Ethics Paper--Bailout Bailout Ethics Americans are outraged. Billions of taxpayer dollars were committed last year to rescuing firms such as Citigroup and the American International Group (AIG). Earlier this year, several companies who received Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) assistance were awarding top executives with extravagant bonuses. According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. government lent $238 billion in TARP taxpayer funds to almost 700 banks; 44 of these banks have repaid a $71 billion (Johnston, para 6). There remains $167 billion invested in banks. Some critics argue that a mere $167 billion is not significant to warrant public indignation against bonuses. However, the issue is not about specific bonus amounts but the principle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In another example of applying the Rights Approach to bailout bonuses, AIG tells a different story. In March 2010, AIG is scheduled to distribute yet another $198 million in bonuses to its financial products employees largely seen as responsible for the firm s failure (Collins, para 11). This will result in almost $400 million in bonus payments since receiving government assistance (Collins, para 11). As mentioned previously, AIG does not have a moral right to these bonuses. It would be similar to someone taking an elaborate vacation just before filing for bankruptcy and expecting the government to finance his unnecessary expense. Common Good Approach: Definition and Analysis In a globalized world, the Common Good Approach has increased in relevance for judging ethical behavior. It presents a vision of society as a community whose members are joined in the shared pursuit of values and goals they hold in common (Markkula, para 12). This Approach calls attention to the conditions that are important to the common welfare of everyone. The principle states: What is ethical is what advances the common good (Markkula, para 12). The common goal when considering the bailout is a stable economy. What remains unanswered is why some financial institutions, such as JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, were helped with TARP funds while other banks, such as Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, were allowed to ... • 34. How Did Machiavelli s Political Views Influence American... In The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes about 16th century principalities and how its princes should act. However, while these ideals may seem dated, Machiavelli s description holds many similarities and differences to American politics today. Machiavelli s views on republics serve as the first difference between his political views and the American government. Machiavelli generally puts those in a republic in a negative light by claiming that the subjects of a republic are not used to standing up for themselves and cannot agree to give themselves a leader. Therefore, it is not a sturdy government to capture. Instead of finding the idea of no singular person being a leader a good way to ensure statewide cooperation and content, Machiavelli claims that, In republics there is more vitality, greater hatred, and more desire for vengeance, (Machiavelli, Chapter V). Which is a far cry to the American government s oath to all of its freedoms and liberties. Machiavelli moves on to say that the safest way to capture a republic state is to destroy it altogether. This shows his views on republics are very much negative and that he believes they are almost a nuisance to a prince trying to maintain a state. Of course this is a drastic difference to the American government, where its subjects thrive in a republic. In other words, while Machiavelli believes no state could be maintained as a republic, the American government proves that it could still be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
