Family Therapy Case Summary
For your case, please provide the following:
(a) Brief summary of the case (10 marks)
This case is about Winnie who is 5 ½ year s old whose parents are Isabel Kent and Frank. Winnie had
a few complications as an infant but overcame it, however she faced a setback in terms of language
development till 4 years of age. Winnie and Isabel grew close with a mother and daughter named Kate
and Molly respectively that lived opposite to them however that was short lived as Kate and Molly
moved out of state. Winnie was enrolled for a once weekly pre school program to allow her to get
used to the nature of kindergarten. However Winnie threw tantrums and seeked security and comfort
by attaching herself to her mother s leg in an attempt to not let go of ... Show more content on

This would also allow Winnie to be open about her fears, which would give her parents an idea about
the thoughts behind her fear (Meichenbaum, 1977). Going through family therapy will allow them to
learn more about her selective mutism. This therapy will be beneficial for Winnie s parents as well as
they will able to give importance and be supportive of her coping skills. This in turn will allow Winnie
to be determined to overcome the fear and this can positively improve the quality of their family
relationship.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT will allow the therapist to beaware of Winnie s anxious thoughts. Children could form unrealistic
and exaggerated scenarios and ideas about the dangers of being alone. Winnie in this case maybe fails
to differentiate reality from the thoughts of something bad happening to her mother. CBT will allow
the therapist together with Winnie to dissect these thoughts and see if they have any logic behind it. To
elaborate on that, the therapist could ask Winnie several questions that would help her realize that the
actual risk of something bad happening to her mother is lower that what she had imagined or feared
(Meichenbaum, 1977)). Using CBT, Winnie will be able to identify her anxiety and the response to it
and will be thought coping skills to overcome her fear when she separates with her mother

Activity Based Costing Essay
Numerous articles have been written about Activity Based costing (ABC) system since it was first
introduced back in mid 1980 s. It was generally characterized as the only costing system that could
accurately depict and represent product cost in a highly relative complex and complicated business
environment. Combined with Activity Based Management (ABM), ABC aligns the company s
strategic objectives with its product costing system as it distinguishes non value added activities and
determines areas where costs can be possibility reduced (Hughes Gjerde, 2003).
As aforementioned by Ness and Cucuzza in their article, activity based management helps
organizations to overpower and outperform other existing organizations. Making them the company ...

Critical analysis of the weaknesses of the model revealed that ABC system led to over precision in
processes in collecting the data, which resulted in comparably expensive maintenance. To save costs,
the figures were not always updated. As a consequence of this weakness, there is a build up of the lack
of trust to the system. Hence, managers established their decisions on marginal thinking and good
intuition that were scarcely fostered by data and information. In conclusion from the interviews, senior
managers are convinced that ABC system did not provide them sufficient support for strategic
decision making and instead resorted to implementing the global decision making methodology
(GDM); a simple practical method for organizational decision making (Geri Ronen, 2005).
In contrast to the fall of activity based costing system as stressed above, some may still find it as a
beneficial tool that accountants can use to promote better management reporting and decision making.
Nonetheless, one must understand the intrinsic underlying assumptions of ABC, from which it
assumes homogenous cost drivers drive the costs in each pool and the costs in each pool are strictly
proportional to the activity , and how contravening these assumptions might result to cost distortions
that may negatively affect management decisions (Latshaw Cortese Danile,

Indian Residential Schools On The Aboriginal Community Essay
It is not possible to talk about the lengthy history of colonial settlers and indigenous groups without
addressing the devastating effects of Indian residential schools on the Aboriginal community in
Canada. During the past two decades, the Canadian government acknowledged the implications and
has taken responsibility for the outcomes of these residential schools. Much has been done through the
framework of transitional justice in order to facilitate reconciliation with the indigenous community in
Canada. Despite the government s amends, I will argue that the reconciliation efforts were inadequate
because the purpose of these initiatives was merely to draw a line between the past and the present,
rather than to restore the socioeconomic wellbeing of the Aboriginal community that existed before
the legacy of Indian residential schools. Indian Residential Schools were a network of boarding
schools that were run conjunctionally by the Canadian government under the administration of the
church. Residential schools were founded in 1867 and lasted up until the late 1990 s. There were about
130 schools with around 150,000 children. The purpose of these schools was to kill the Indian in the
child; Indian children were forcibly taken from their homes and placed in these boarding schools
where they were forced to assimilate to the settler Canadian culture. Children were subject to physical,
sexual and emotional abuse, and as a result, mortality rates were as high as 35 to 60

The Hard Rock Café (HRC) and the Hard Rock Hotels / Casinos is a highly successful series of

12 Angry Men Juror 8 Analysis
Reginald Rose s play Twelve Angry Men brings together a group of 12 Jurors in deciding the verdict
of the supposedly 18 year old killer. As the play moves forward, Juror 8 brings up a lot of good points
in explaining why the boy is not guilty. When the other Juror begins to side with Juror 8, Juror 4
stands hold on his opinion and provided some solid facts in why the boy is guilty. As the play
progresses, Juror 4 has proved himself to be a calm, independent, and an intelligent thinker. Or all the
Jurors in the play, Juror 4 is possibly one of the calmest person in the room. During the play, Juror 5
says Boy oh boy, it s really hot, huh? Pardon me, but don t you ever sweat? to Juror 4 and he replies
with, No, I don t. even though the others were sweating as their shirts are stained, he doesn t sweat at
all, even in a suit. This shows that he is very physically stable. In the play when Juror 8 demonstrates
how the old man couldn t have walked as fast as he claims, Juror 3 gets mad and causes a commotion.
Meanwhile, Juror 4 says I don t see why we have to behave like children here. further proving, unlike
most of the other jurors, is not childish and is willing to talk stuff out in an non aggressive manner.

addition to being calm, another characteristic that follows as to be able to think independently. Like

Evaluation Of Routine Immunization Performance Essay
REVIEW OF Routine Immunization Performance In Pakistan
May 11th 24th, 2015
Hashim Elzein Elmousaad
1. Introduction and Background
Socio demography:
The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has 4 provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
Baluchistan besides the federally administered territories and the capital Islamabad. The population of
Pakistan is estimated at 182 million in 2013 with an annual population growth rate of 2%. Pakistan is
having a birth cohort of 6.2 million infants, with 5.82 million surviving infants [1].
Routine Immunization and Polio Eradication:
In 2013 the UN Inter agency Group for child mortality estimation, showed that about 50% of under
five deaths occur in only five countries: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo
and China [2]. It estimated that Pakistan has a child mortality of 86 per 1000 live birth. About 25% of
these deaths are attributed to vaccine preventable diseases. In recent years the Pakistani routine
immunization program faced many bottlenecks, which resulted in declining and stagnant coverage
rates of all antigens leading to increasing vulnerability of children to vaccine preventable diseases.
Last large measles outbreak was reported to kill more than 306 children [3]. Administrative coverage
data shows relatively high immunization coverage (DPT3 85%) across the last few years. However,
EPI management and partners doubt the data quality and reliability. Strengthening

Thesis Statement For Oedipus
A man can only justify his actions if he regards his demeanor with deductive thinking. This man was
not Oedipus mainly because he was a fu**ing douchebag. One must know who Oedipus was to
understand the period in which it was written. This is my thesis statement. The Greeks contributed
many things to our culture, such as olives, gyros, Lenny Kravitz, anal sex, and Oedipus. Oedipus will
be remembered though out time because he suffered from Lou Gehrig s disease, and that s why he
couldn t play base ball in the first Olympic games. He will always be remembered for his journeys and
his love for the New York Yankees.
Laius and Jocasta were king and queen of Thebes, a town in Greece. They were fu**ing around and
Laius forgot to strap his sh**. One day, they had a baby boy. An oracle prophesied that the boy would
grow up and kill his father and marry his mother. Laius was like fu** that sh**, that s gay. To thwart
the prophecy, Laius and Jocasta decided to kill their baby. They fingered his butt hole and sent him on
his way. In those days, it was usual to leave an unwanted or defective baby in the wilderness. Laius
and Jocasta did this. To be extra sure, they pierced his little feet and tied them together. (Don t worry
about this detail, which makes no sense. It must have been introduced to explain the hero s name.) A
kindly shepard found the baby in a pool skimmer. He gave the baby to a friend, who took it to Corinth,
another town. (Corinth reappears in the New Testament. Under the category of DVDA, versus 63) The
king and queen of Corinth couldn t have a baby of their own. The king had a bad case of the limp
dick. So they adopted the foundling. Nobody ever told little Oedipus that his mother was never
pregnant. She aborted a kitten in a toilet in the back of a Denver Denny s. One day, after he had grown
up, a drunk mentioned his being adopted. Oedipus killed the bum. Oedipus questioned his parents, but
they denied it. Oedipus visited various oracles to find out whether he was really adopted. All the
oracles told him instead he would kill father and marry his mother. He told them that they were dissin
him so he grabbed his 12 sided double dildo and left town. (None of this makes much sense. Again,
don t worry

Network Security Consists Of The Procurements And Strategies
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH PAPER
ANUSHA SHER (A03771526)
ABSTRACT
Network security comprises of the procurements and strategies embraced by a network executive to
anticipate and screen unapproved access, abuse, change, or disavowal of a computer network and
network open assets. Network security includes the approval of access to information in a network,
which is controlled by the network chairman. As the computer network is increasing drastically, so are
the threats to the computer network also. With the quick improvement of computer network, the
network is defying a developing number of dangers. Hence, it is exceptionally paramount to evaluate
the dangers for the network data framework. This paper draws information mining innovation focused
around affiliation principles into the field of danger evaluation, exhibiting a network security hazard
evaluation model focused around affiliation standards. The model mines information from history
defenselessness database to run across affiliation tenets of vulnerabilities, and it is connected on
danger evaluation of vulnerability.

Compare And Contrast Kennedy And Nixon Election
Kennedy and Nixon Elections in the United States of America
John F. Kennedy vs. Richard Nixon In 1960 the Cold War tensions were rising, therefore the election
campaign was mainly dominated by this topic. Public opinion polls showed that more than a half of
American people thought the war with the Soviet Union was inevitable. The two candidates who
ended up chasing after the presidency were a barely known democrat senator John F. Kennedy and
vice president republican Richard Nixon. They both promised more advanced science and technology
in order to win the race with communism in these fields. At the beginning of his campaign, Kennedy
promised he would get the nation moving again and stated that the United States would have the will

The two candidates are similar with the previous examples. Senator from Illinois Barack Obama, who
ran as a democrat, was rather new, but he had ideas of change. Republican candidate John McCain
was very experienced and it wasn t the first time for him to compete for presidency. It is said that
people were choosing between change and experience and at some point the votes were almost
balanced. John McCain is a strong conservative who defends integrity and moral values. He followed
his father and became a naval aviator. McCain was almost killed Vietnam War, so he was well
respected by his contenders and considered as a charismatic man beyond his political circle of
acquaintances. However, he is a moderated republican who doesn t hesitate to take a different position
than his republican fellows. Barack Obama is the first African American president in the history and
has spoken often of his multicultural background: his father was from Kenya and his mother from
Kansas, and they met at the University of Hawaii. Obama is frequently referred to as an exceptional
orator and a great part of independents and young people support

My Experience Of A Heartwarming Experience At A Bible Camp
I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a counselor. It
was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time like I always did!
One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the week. Vivian did not
want to do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a buddy at all times.
Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first three days she had visited
the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she had a concussion. Needless to say,
she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week.
After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home.
My job was to make her feel better and want to have fun! I decided to have a talk with her one night
before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was home sick. I
suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a letter, drew pictures,
and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of mine that helped her feel
better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me and tell me stories about
things she did back home. This made her less home sick and let her go to sleep that night without any
problems. After this night her week at camp turned around and she only had a few small speed bumps
along the way.

evaluating your impact on the natural environment? Why or why not?
Ecological footprint is the capacity to continue providing resources or consumption of waste, the
biological productivity of the regional space. It means maintaining a person, region, and the country
needs to be able to accommodate human discharge of waste, with biological productivity of the
geographical area, which needs to evaluate to carry a population of a certain quality of life, how much
renewable resources are available for human use, or an ecosystem capacity of absorbing waste. In my
mind, I think this is relatively somewhat useful. Because the calculation of ecological footprint could
only reflect the impact of economic decision on the environment, that

North Americ The World For Its Excellent Professional Sports
Layne Greeson
Introduction
North America is known around the world for its excellent professional sports. Athletes from around
the world come to the North America with the dream of becoming a professional athlete in their
respective sport. Organized professional baseball in North America was developed in 1876 with the
creation of the American League (AL). In 1901 the National League (NL) was formed in order to
compete with the AL hence Major League Baseball (MLB) was born. From 1901 till now Major
League Baseball has grown into a multi billion dollar industry consisting of 30 MLB teams residing
primarily in the United States with one team in Canada. The AL consists of 15 teams split into three
separate divisions. The NL also consists of 15 teams split into three separate divisions. MLB teams
compete in a 162 game season in order to determine which 10 teams, five from each league, will
compete in an end of the season tournament and have a chance to win a World Series which is the
most prestigious award an MLB team can accomplish. With this goal in mind MLB teams attempt to
hire world class athletes in order to produce a winning team which in turn generates revenue.
Baseball is statistical driven sport more than any other because the game is structured in a way that
allows for easy comparison of players performance through the use of statistical aspects. Baseball
teams pay athletes based on their statistical performance such as the number of homeruns they hit, the

Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello
Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite
difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William
Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put
their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the term
sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial
attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iago has antisocial personality disorder.
The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation, his abusive behavior
toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true sociopath. According to
Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure
(Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating Roderigo for the whole duration of the
play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty promises and choosing his words carefully, as
seen in the following quote by Iago:
I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But,
Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I mean
purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not Desdemona,
take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250)
In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly
maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he believes
that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if Roderigo does not
complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is shocked and is now
completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his manipulation skills. Later in
the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking advantage of him saying, O damned
Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago
reveals himself as a sociopath.

The Perception Of The Human Eye
Introduction
According to the dictionary, a sensation is the operation or function of the senses; perception or
awareness of stimuli through the senses, while a perception is the act or faculty of perceiving, or
apprehending by means of thesenses or of the mind; cognition; understanding. The eye is defined as
white membrane that contains an opening for light to get to the retina. The eye is developed in a way
that it receives physical stimuli like light and send it to the brain as an electrical signal that is
responsible for interpreting signals as images (Goldstein, Humphreys, Shiffrar, Yost, and Wiley, 2005).
Among the animals, human vision is regarded as the most sophisticated. The three primary layers of
the eye include choroid, retina, and cornea. Furthermore, the human eye is responsible for the complex
color perception that is initiated and instigated by cones in the retina and complicated by the
integrating impulse in the brain.
The process of sight
All the vision is based upon the perception of the electromagnetic rays. These beams then pass
through cornea as light and get into the eye through the pupil. The pupil performs the function of a
gatekeeper because it allows less or much light to enter to enable an individual to see an image clearly
(Goldstein, 2010). Iris is the pigmented area, which is around the pupil, and it acts as a sphincter.
Furthermore, iris has two layers that are responsible for changing the quantity of light that enters the
eye (Goldstein,

Amusing Ourselves To Death Essay
Question Two:
While having read many different authors this semester for this class, two seemed to jump out at me in
having the most in common. Neil Postman(1985) does not specifically discuss the societal pressures
of forced gender roles in advertising the same way the Jean Kilbourne addresses in her book and film
series, but there is a connection in the topics they discuss. I was a bit put off by the task of reading the
entire Postman book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, however, the topics in each chapter make for some
thought provoking and tantalizing ideas of the societal issues that we seem to take for granted. The
chapter about public discourse and the new methods that were employed to create communication
through the age of exposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two authors do not necessarily have much in common on the surface but just below when one
can ascertain the message being put out by each author it is clearly connected in the form of
technology, its historical and current uses and how the advent of easy communication technology has
allowed us to water down our vast culture by making it easy to objectify humans, animals and nature
if the explanation is sensational enough. I ve learned through reading Neil Postman s book(1985),
Amusing Ourselves to Death, that we seem to look at forms of communication as following a linear
path. The invention of easy communication created a niche in societies that became a place for further
discourse, sharing of ideas and knowledge, but in the end, was used ultimately to control, shape and
form the masses. Neil Postman delved into topics that I think are somewhat forgotten by history and
societies as they become so engrained in our way of viewing the world around us. Jean Kilbourne
(1999) taught me that we are all subjected to societal gender normalization through mass media, print
media and news programs. The sheer lack of honest and open communication in our society puts us at
risk for being objectified, sexualized and demoralized, all without realizing that this is

Freud s Theories Applied in Inception
In every great piece of art there is usually an inspiration of some sort that gave the artist influence on
their production. In contemporary society, we often see modern artists use influences from past
theories, ideas, designs, etc. Inception, the 2010 sci fi action film, is a movie about illegal spying by
entering the minds of certain individuals by sharing dreams. Dom Cobb and his partner, Arthur, use
this tactic to extract or plant desired information from or into their unconscious. Mr. Saito, an
exceedingly wealthy business owner, asks Cobb and Arthur to perform Inception (imbedding an idea
inside a person s mind without them recognizing) on his only remaining business competitor, Maurice
Fischer. Saito wants Cobb to implant the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second function of the dream, according to Freud, is to protect the dreamer s sleep from
disruptions in the sleep environment. It is obvious to see this attribute operating in the movie
Inception. While Cobb and his team go into the mind of another individual during a dream, they often
do it on comfortable chairs, beds, or recliners. It is one team member s job to make sure that the
dreamers are not woken up by anything, or in contradiction, they wake the dreamer up if the dream is
not going as planned. The team member awakens them by measures of a kick, or a means of falling.
When you dream and you get a feeling that you are falling, it often wakes you up in a jolt. Inception
shows various scenes where the team member staying back is trying extremely hard to protect the
dreamer s from awakening in their unconscious state. Freud strategized that the personality was
composed of three elements; the id, ego, and superego. The id is the component of personality that is
present from birth, and is exclusively unconscious. According to Freud, the id is the source of all
psychic energy, making it the primary component of personality (Cherry,1). On the other hand, the ego
is the element of the personality that is responsible with reality. According to Freud, the ego develops
from the id and ensures that the impulses of the id can be expressed in a manner acceptable in the real
world (Cherry, 1). It

American Spirits Were Exceptionally High At The End Of The...
American spirits were exceptionally high at the end of the War of 1812 which brought about a defeat
of the British once again. In the years that followed the War, a sense of national unity materialized
throughout the country as a One Party System grew out of James Monroe s presidency with the
disappearance of the Federalists. The Columbian Centinel proclaimed that this time period after the
War of 1812 was an Era of Good Feelings , a phrase applied to Monroe s presidency ever since. But
contradictory to this label, this time period in American history was actually turbulent, for

During his presidency, Monroe supported the American System in which the government supported
economic growth and protective measures for domestic manufacturers from foreign competition.
Unfortunately, not everyone favored the American System. In the South especially, Southerners
opposed such a protective tariff for it only supported Northern manufactures, while hurting the
Southern economy at the same time. The South, primarily agricultural with a large exporting
economy, had to import all of its goods having to pay up to ⅓ it s price in tax in order to comply with
the American System. John Randolph, a Southerner, expressed his grievances to Congress hoping to
alleviate the struggles of the South by saying, no one interest in the country should be sacrificed by the
management of taxation to another... the agriculturalists bear the whole front of the war and taxation
(Document A). In saying this Randolph not only questioned Congress s intentions of collecting
revenue and favoring the North, but also its job to regulate commerce, not taxes. The American
System clearly drove a wedge between Northern and Southern interests.
The institution of chartering a Second National Bank also stimulated many controversies. Once again,
the Bank, an element of the American System created to strengthen national currency, placed
commercial interests of the North over farmers and agriculturalists of the South. In the

How To Break A Social Norm
I brainstormed and contemplated about what social norm I should break in order to achieve this
assignment. I fathom the idea that some social norms and expectations would be quite difficult to
accomplish. Surprisingly, without much thought I knew exactly what norm I wanted to break. I
decided to break the well known concept that each gender must go to the restroom in their designated
restroom area. I planned on starting the assignment by choosing a few public restrooms in which I
would enter the men s restroom. That particular behavior breaks a social norm because with most
public restrooms; genders are separated by signs or names. Thus, there should be no reason why men
or women end up going into the same restroom. I personally believe that ... Show more content on

When I entered the men s restroom, I acted as if I were using the bathroom in one of the stalls. Pretty
soon I overheard two young men enter. After they shut their stalls, I flushed my toilet and started to
rinse my hands. The men finished and came out of their stalls at the same time. They both froze and
looked directly at me. They looked like UNC Charlotte students. One of them stated, what the f*ck?
The other guy laughed, and asked me if I knew I was in the wrong restroom. I stated that I did know.
His response was, why would you come in here? I told him, I needed to use the restroom, is it wrong
for a lady to use the men s restroom? They both laughed and the other guy asked if it was a prank.
Right when that question was asked, an older man entered the restroom. When the man saw all of us
in there, he looked confused and decided to walk right back out. At that point I told the two guys
speaking to me that I did it for a school assignment. We all laughed again and then the young man I
was speaking with mostly, asked for my number. I politely declined and left the restaurant afterwards.
Breaking the social norm was definitely interesting seeing that I did not fully know what to expect.
Overall I was kind of nervous at first but I knew it had to be done. I liked how the two young men had
a good sense of humor about it as well. Aside from it being an assignment, I would not choose to

Hawaii and the Monst Inspiring Liliuokalani Women
Close your eyes and imagine this: an immense ocean, stretching far and wide, and when you look
down, nothing but deep blue. Now imagine looking out into the sky, and seeing the faint outline of
land rising in the horizon. These are the Hawaiian Islands. As you get closer, it looks like you re
seeing dark heads poking out of the water. As you arrive even closer so that the individual fronds of
the palm trees are visible, you realize that they are actually dark heads popping out of the water. For a
second, you almost believe that they could be mermaids, but in fact, it turns out that they are the
women of Hawaii coming out to welcome you with song! Welcome to Liliuokalani s world.
Liliuokalani affected America by being one of the most inspiring women ever to be a part of our rich
history. Queen Liliuokalani remains a popular symbol of Hawaiian character and spirit, and is a
cherished connection to the island s past. [She] was the last reigning monarch of the Hawaiian Islands.
She felt her mission was to preserve the islands for their native residents. (Tina Koeppe p. 22)
Liliuokalani (aka Lydia) was born on September 2, 1838 to a high chief of Hawaii. It was the custom
among the Hawaiian chiefs to give their new born babies to other chiefs to raise. The chiefs believed
that this custom made them feel close as if they all belonged to one big family. Lydia was sent to the
home of Abner Paki and his wife Konia. Because of the custom, Lydia grew up with a

Renaissance High School Narrative
Freshman year at Renaissance High School, I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. I was skipping
class and didn t do classwork the handful of times I was in class. Time passed and before I knew it, it
was my junior year in high school and while you are supposed to have 33 credits I only had 9 credits
and 1 regent exam. When I was 16, I became depressed because I was raped. Throughout the time I
spent in therapy, I was considering dropping out of high school. I thought it was too late for me to
catch up with the credits I was missing. I felt as if my life had spun out of control and I couldn t take
control again. I thought I wouldn t be anything besides a Bronx girl from the ghetto who dropped out
of school. One night I was talking to an old ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Econ River Wilderness Analysis
The Econ River Wilderness Area is an amazing little swatch of how central Florida used to be. It was
interesting to see how many different ecological areas there were in that small bit of land, I believe
that we counted 7 in total. Each of these habitats were interesting in their own way and by walking
through them and physically seeing how difficult it is to decipher a clear cut line between each habitat
helped me appreciate them even more. After viewing each habitat it became easier to understand how
each overlaps the other. You will have vegetation in the pine flatwoods that should be growing in the
forested wetlands and other vegetation growing in the forested wetlands that should only be growing
in the live oak hammock. It is understandable how someone who is surveying this area would have a
difficult time determining the exact habitat they are in. I have done some additional research on this
area and have cone to find out that this is an area where a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Article by Bartley
In the article by Bartley, it looks at how the West should believe in itself a little bit more and they
should see how they are different. The article looks at communication and how it will insure that
democracy survives and it mediates our understanding of the world. The article also looks at the clash
of civilizations and how the conflicts will not be over resources but it will be over the fundamental
and often irreconcilable values. This will make the U.S. and the West on the defensive. The article also
talks about how there has been a lot of interest in cultural, ethnic and religious values in the Islamic
fundamentalism. The article looks at how people in the other countries are being educated in the U.S.
There is also a power of prosperity where Western values are becoming an artifact of an exogenous
civilization, but a lot of people believe that they are an artifact of economic development itself. At a
certain level of prosperity people want power and that the economic development leads to demands
for democracy and individual autonomy. The future is no sure thing and it is all about the people. In
the article by Wilson, it looks at the concept of American Exceptionalism. The article talks about how
we should embrace our values in the country and we should be proud of who we are in the world
system. The article looks at how we are truly different and distinct. There are a couple of problems in
our world which is the poor cannot get over certain things and

The Dressmakers Of Khair Khana
In the United States, childhood is a relatively carefree time in which children are expected to have
time to play and to receive care from adults. In other societies, like the one in Anchee Min s memoir
Red Azalea and Gayle Tzemach Lemmon s book The Dressmakers Of Khair Khana, one can see how
Min and Kamila become strong, independent, leaders at a young. Ultimately both women learn to
work around their society s social issues to survive. I find the life stories of these women to be very
unique, because of their efforts and attitudes of surviving and never complaining about their given
responsibilities. Therefore, Min and Kamila s families depended on them because they were perceived
as brave, mature, and smart young women.
The Dressmakers Of Khair Khana, took place during the 1990 s when the Taliban s took over Kabul,
Afghanistan and reconstructed the whole government. Due to many of the changes made by the
Taliban s many had to flee and find safety, including Kamila s parents and older brother. Since there
was no one superior to Kamila she had to take the responsibilities of an adult, and become the leader
of her family. On page 38, we see how Kamila assimilates the conversation she had with her father
before he fled to Parwan. It states, All night long Kamila thought of his words. He was counting on
her. And so were her sisters. She had to find a way to take care of her family (Lemmon 38). This
demonstrates how Mr. Sidiqi left Kamila in control of the household, and

Role Of The Australian Government For Unauthorised...
Introduction:
The purpose of my outcome is to research comparisons between the roles of the Australian
government for unauthorised arrivals found to be refugees and those who are not.
According to Australian Human rights commission (2014), recently, asylum seekers who arrive

The Hutu and the Tutsi have a violent history dating back to 1959 when the Hutus overthrew the Tutsi
king appointed by the Belgian colonizers. Thousands of Tutsi were killed and over a hundred thousand
were driven into neighboring countries. Years later the exiled Tutsi formed the Rwandan Patriotic
Front (RPF) and began a civil war in 1990. This resulted in years of political and economic disruption
and culminated in 1994 to a state orchestrated genocide which led to the deaths of ¾ of the Tutsi
population as well as about 30% of the Twa. The genocide ended when the RPF defeated the national
army and established a government of national unity led by the RPF (CIA). Nearly 2 million Hutu fled
Rwanda in fear of Tutsi retaliation which may have been well founded. In August 2010 the UN

The Great Pyramid Of Giza
Giza, an area located southwest of what is now known as Cairo, is home to one of the most
astonishing and mysterious feats of architecture ever assembled, The Great Pyramid. Located
approximately 5 miles west of the Nile River near the city of Cairo, Egypt, The Great Pyramid is part
of a larger complex called the Giza Necropolis, which also houses the Great Sphinx, and two smaller
pyramids. It is said to have been built by the enslaved citizens of Khufu, second ruler of the 4th
dynasty, and son of Snefru. Although archaeologists have since disproved that theory. The pyramids
are said to have been built to house the deceased bodies of the pharaohs after they have transitioned
into the after life. However, there is no evidence of this being the case. There are many questions
surrounding the Pyramids of Giza, some of which, might not ever be answered. Subsequently,
archaeologists, engineers, scientists and Egyptologists have been able to provide some very logical
theories to try and answer these questions.
Built between 2589 BC and 2504 BC for pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Pyramids of
Giza are the only ones of the original structures of the Seven Wonders of the World that still stand.
There were eight major feats of engineering involved in the construction of the pyramid. First, the
builders had to level the foundation and cut a 6,000 hectare bedrock to fit the strangely shaped slabs of
stone. Each stone at the foundation of the pyramid totaled the approximate

Corona Vs Heineken Comparison
Corona vs. Heineken Which is the more superior beer, Corona or Heineken? I believe Corona is the
better beer due to the fact that Corona has the better taste and I would personally drink corona over
Heineken. I once suffered a killer headache that hurt from the head down one night after a long day of
drinking Heineken out on the lake. Corona is the better beer than Heineken, for example, I once
purchased a six pack of each brand to meet my hydration needs to prepare myself for a long, yet fun
lake day. After finishing both servings of beverages, I realized that Corona is the more superior beer
because Corona did not leave that bitter after taste and left me refreshed, resulting in me wishing I had
more. I prefer a cold, refreshing beer, so I understand that any beer with good quality will satisfy a
regular drinker more than the usual watery beer such as Keystone, Coors, or Bud Light. I give praise

gluten with no additional additives. The amount of gluten usually depends on whether the beer is a
lighter or darker colored product, with the lighter beer containing less gluten than the darker beer such

Stereotypes In The Movie Meet The Parents
The nursing profession has many stereotypes, both negative and positive. I decided to choose a
stereotype that has been portrayed in our culture and society for some time regarding this profession.
When people hear nurse they tend to immediately think of it as a female occupation. This has been
portrayed and implanted into societies mind due to the media through films, pictures, TV, and art.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau men made up 7.6% of nurses in the year 2000 (Landivar, 2013).
Even though this does seem like a small number, the amount of males in this profession has risen
exponentially from 1970 and continues to rise. In the year 2011, around 330,000 males were nurses
(Landivar, 2013). This is why I decided to choose the film Meet the Parents (produced in ... Show

This film depicts nursing as an unfit or unusual job choice for men. The main character in this film is a
male nurse and his future father in law gives him a lot of grief for his career profession. The movie
uses his profession to isolate him from being a part of the family and fitting in (along with other
things). His father in law even tries to convince him to choose another profession. There is even a part
in the film where a family friend acts as though Greg does nursing for simply volunteer work and talks
down to him because of it. However, throughout the film he is able to stand his ground and explain to
them why he chose this profession and why nursing is an important, challenging, and rewarding job.
Due to these types of films and other pieces of media, our society and culture have been led to believe
that nursing is an easy job that females

What Is The Difference Between The Declaration Of The...
The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen is a charter of human liberties, containing the
principles that were an inspiration born out of the deadly French Revolution. In the lasting years of
this revolution (1789 to 1799) the queen was imprisoned, thousands were killed, and in place a new
form of government was installed. To my understanding of this period, the government evolved to a
citizen friendly system by creating and practicing the Declaration of the Rights of Man. and Citizen
This declaration set the standards for human rights in France and shaped the United States form of
government. This document considers the individual rights of man, similar to the work of John Locke.

Family Therapy Case Summary For your case, please provide the following: (a) Brief summary of the case (10 marks) This case is about Winnie who is 5 ½ year s old whose parents are Isabel Kent and Frank. Winnie had a few complications as an infant but overcame it, however she faced a setback in terms of language development till 4 years of age. Winnie and Isabel grew close with a mother and daughter named Kate and Molly respectively that lived opposite to them however that was short lived as Kate and Molly moved out of state. Winnie was enrolled for a once weekly pre school program to allow her to get used to the nature of kindergarten. However Winnie threw tantrums and seeked security and comfort by attaching herself to her mother s leg in an attempt to not let go of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would also allow Winnie to be open about her fears, which would give her parents an idea about the thoughts behind her fear (Meichenbaum, 1977). Going through family therapy will allow them to learn more about her selective mutism. This therapy will be beneficial for Winnie s parents as well as they will able to give importance and be supportive of her coping skills. This in turn will allow Winnie to be determined to overcome the fear and this can positively improve the quality of their family relationship. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) CBT will allow the therapist to beaware of Winnie s anxious thoughts. Children could form unrealistic and exaggerated scenarios and ideas about the dangers of being alone. Winnie in this case maybe fails to differentiate reality from the thoughts of something bad happening to her mother. CBT will allow the therapist together with Winnie to dissect these thoughts and see if they have any logic behind it. To elaborate on that, the therapist could ask Winnie several questions that would help her realize that the actual risk of something bad happening to her mother is lower that what she had imagined or feared (Meichenbaum, 1977)). Using CBT, Winnie will be able to identify her anxiety and the response to it and will be thought coping skills to overcome her fear when she separates with her mother (Meichenbaum, ... • 4. Activity Based Costing Essay Numerous articles have been written about Activity Based costing (ABC) system since it was first introduced back in mid 1980 s. It was generally characterized as the only costing system that could accurately depict and represent product cost in a highly relative complex and complicated business environment. Combined with Activity Based Management (ABM), ABC aligns the company s strategic objectives with its product costing system as it distinguishes non value added activities and determines areas where costs can be possibility reduced (Hughes Gjerde, 2003). As aforementioned by Ness and Cucuzza in their article, activity based management helps organizations to overpower and outperform other existing organizations. Making them the company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Critical analysis of the weaknesses of the model revealed that ABC system led to over precision in processes in collecting the data, which resulted in comparably expensive maintenance. To save costs, the figures were not always updated. As a consequence of this weakness, there is a build up of the lack of trust to the system. Hence, managers established their decisions on marginal thinking and good intuition that were scarcely fostered by data and information. In conclusion from the interviews, senior managers are convinced that ABC system did not provide them sufficient support for strategic decision making and instead resorted to implementing the global decision making methodology (GDM); a simple practical method for organizational decision making (Geri Ronen, 2005). In contrast to the fall of activity based costing system as stressed above, some may still find it as a beneficial tool that accountants can use to promote better management reporting and decision making. Nonetheless, one must understand the intrinsic underlying assumptions of ABC, from which it assumes homogenous cost drivers drive the costs in each pool and the costs in each pool are strictly proportional to the activity , and how contravening these assumptions might result to cost distortions that may negatively affect management decisions (Latshaw Cortese Danile, ... • 5. Indian Residential Schools On The Aboriginal Community Essay It is not possible to talk about the lengthy history of colonial settlers and indigenous groups without addressing the devastating effects of Indian residential schools on the Aboriginal community in Canada. During the past two decades, the Canadian government acknowledged the implications and has taken responsibility for the outcomes of these residential schools. Much has been done through the framework of transitional justice in order to facilitate reconciliation with the indigenous community in Canada. Despite the government s amends, I will argue that the reconciliation efforts were inadequate because the purpose of these initiatives was merely to draw a line between the past and the present, rather than to restore the socioeconomic wellbeing of the Aboriginal community that existed before the legacy of Indian residential schools. Indian Residential Schools were a network of boarding schools that were run conjunctionally by the Canadian government under the administration of the church. Residential schools were founded in 1867 and lasted up until the late 1990 s. There were about 130 schools with around 150,000 children. The purpose of these schools was to kill the Indian in the child; Indian children were forcibly taken from their homes and placed in these boarding schools where they were forced to assimilate to the settler Canadian culture. Children were subject to physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and as a result, mortality rates were as high as 35 to 60 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. 12 Angry Men Juror 8 Analysis Reginald Rose s play Twelve Angry Men brings together a group of 12 Jurors in deciding the verdict of the supposedly 18 year old killer. As the play moves forward, Juror 8 brings up a lot of good points in explaining why the boy is not guilty. When the other Juror begins to side with Juror 8, Juror 4 stands hold on his opinion and provided some solid facts in why the boy is guilty. As the play progresses, Juror 4 has proved himself to be a calm, independent, and an intelligent thinker. Or all the Jurors in the play, Juror 4 is possibly one of the calmest person in the room. During the play, Juror 5 says Boy oh boy, it s really hot, huh? Pardon me, but don t you ever sweat? to Juror 4 and he replies with, No, I don t. even though the others were sweating as their shirts are stained, he doesn t sweat at all, even in a suit. This shows that he is very physically stable. In the play when Juror 8 demonstrates how the old man couldn t have walked as fast as he claims, Juror 3 gets mad and causes a commotion. Meanwhile, Juror 4 says I don t see why we have to behave like children here. further proving, unlike most of the other jurors, is not childish and is willing to talk stuff out in an non aggressive manner. Introduction and Background Socio demography: The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has 4 provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan besides the federally administered territories and the capital Islamabad. The population of Pakistan is estimated at 182 million in 2013 with an annual population growth rate of 2%. Pakistan is having a birth cohort of 6.2 million infants, with 5.82 million surviving infants [1]. Routine Immunization and Polio Eradication: In 2013 the UN Inter agency Group for child mortality estimation, showed that about 50% of under five deaths occur in only five countries: India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo and China [2]. It estimated that Pakistan has a child mortality of 86 per 1000 live birth. About 25% of these deaths are attributed to vaccine preventable diseases. In recent years the Pakistani routine immunization program faced many bottlenecks, which resulted in declining and stagnant coverage rates of all antigens leading to increasing vulnerability of children to vaccine preventable diseases. Last large measles outbreak was reported to kill more than 306 children [3]. Administrative coverage data shows relatively high immunization coverage (DPT3 85%) across the last few years. • 9. Thesis Statement For Oedipus A man can only justify his actions if he regards his demeanor with deductive thinking. This man was not Oedipus mainly because he was a fu**ing douchebag. One must know who Oedipus was to understand the period in which it was written. This is my thesis statement. The Greeks contributed many things to our culture, such as olives, gyros, Lenny Kravitz, anal sex, and Oedipus. Oedipus will be remembered though out time because he suffered from Lou Gehrig s disease, and that s why he couldn t play base ball in the first Olympic games. He will always be remembered for his journeys and his love for the New York Yankees. Laius and Jocasta were king and queen of Thebes, a town in Greece. They were fu**ing around and Laius forgot to strap his sh**. One day, they had a baby boy. An oracle prophesied that the boy would grow up and kill his father and marry his mother. Laius was like fu** that sh**, that s gay. To thwart the prophecy, Laius and Jocasta decided to kill their baby. They fingered his butt hole and sent him on his way. In those days, it was usual to leave an unwanted or defective baby in the wilderness. Laius and Jocasta did this. To be extra sure, they pierced his little feet and tied them together. (Don t worry about this detail, which makes no sense. It must have been introduced to explain the hero s name.) A kindly shepard found the baby in a pool skimmer. He gave the baby to a friend, who took it to Corinth, another town. (Corinth reappears in the New Testament. Under the category of DVDA, versus 63) The king and queen of Corinth couldn t have a baby of their own. The king had a bad case of the limp dick. So they adopted the foundling. Nobody ever told little Oedipus that his mother was never pregnant. She aborted a kitten in a toilet in the back of a Denver Denny s. One day, after he had grown up, a drunk mentioned his being adopted. Oedipus killed the bum. Oedipus questioned his parents, but they denied it. Oedipus visited various oracles to find out whether he was really adopted. All the oracles told him instead he would kill father and marry his mother. He told them that they were dissin him so he grabbed his 12 sided double dildo and left town. (None of this makes much sense. Again, don t worry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Network Security Consists Of The Procurements And Strategies ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE RESEARCH PAPER ANUSHA SHER (A03771526) ABSTRACT Network security comprises of the procurements and strategies embraced by a network executive to anticipate and screen unapproved access, abuse, change, or disavowal of a computer network and network open assets. Network security includes the approval of access to information in a network, which is controlled by the network chairman. As the computer network is increasing drastically, so are the threats to the computer network also. Kennedy vs. Richard Nixon In 1960 the Cold War tensions were rising, therefore the election campaign was mainly dominated by this topic. Public opinion polls showed that more than a half of American people thought the war with the Soviet Union was inevitable. The two candidates who ended up chasing after the presidency were a barely known democrat senator John F. Kennedy and vice president republican Richard Nixon. • 12. My Experience Of A Heartwarming Experience At A Bible Camp I had a heartwarming experience this past summer at a Bible camp where I volunteer as a counselor. It was my first year volunteering and I wanted all my campers to have a great time like I always did! One of my campers was a young girl named Vivian. She had a rough start to the week. Vivian did not want to do any of the activities, follow the rules and she walked without a buddy at all times. Unfortunately on top of all this, Vivian was very accident prone. The first three days she had visited the nurse twice. On one of these visits she was checked to see if she had a concussion. Needless to say, she was not enjoying her time so far at camp that week. After the hard start to the week, she was not wanting to be at camp anymore and wanted to go home. My job was to make her feel better and want to have fun! I decided to have a talk with her one night before bedtime. We talked about how she was feeling and she had told me that she was home sick. I suggested that she wrote a letter to her family. She got very excited and wrote a letter, drew pictures, and put one of her crafts in the envelope to send to her parents. This idea of mine that helped her feel better gave her the confidence to confide in me. She started to talk to me and tell me stories about things she did back home. This made her less home sick and let her go to sleep that night without any problems. After this night her week at camp turned around and she only had a few small speed bumps along the way. Ecological footprint is the capacity to continue providing resources or consumption of waste, the biological productivity of the regional space. It means maintaining a person, region, and the country needs to be able to accommodate human discharge of waste, with biological productivity of the geographical area, which needs to evaluate to carry a population of a certain quality of life, how much renewable resources are available for human use, or an ecosystem capacity of absorbing waste. • 15. Iago As A Sociopath In Shakespeare s Othello Iago as a Sociopath in Othello Trust is fundamental to life, but knowing who to trust can be quite difficult. Having faith in the wrong person could lead to unfortunate outcomes. In William Shakespeare s Othello, many characters are blinded by Iago s false personality, causing them to put their trust in someone who eventually makes them feel cheated and betrayed. After reviewing the term sociopath, defined as, a person with a personality disorder manifesting itself in extreme antisocial attitudes and behaviour (English Oxford), one could say that Iago has antisocial personality disorder. The traits Iago displays throughout the play, such as his use of manipulation, his abusive behavior toward others, his lack of remorse, and his deceitfulness make him a true sociopath. According to Mayo Clinic, a sociopath uses charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or personal pleasure (Mayo Clinic). Iago exhibits this characteristic by manipulating Roderigo for the whole duration of the play. He traps Roderigo in his web by making empty promises and choosing his words carefully, as seen in the following quote by Iago: I grant indeed it hath not appeared, and your suspicion is not without wit and judgment. But, Roderigo, if thou hast that in thee indeed, which I have greater reason to believe now than ever I mean purpose, courage and valor this night show it. If thou the next night following enjoy not Desdemona, take me from this world with treachery and devise engines for my life. (4.2.243 250) In this scene, Roderigo is sceptical of Iago s plan and puts a sword to his throat. Iago swiftly maneuvers out of this situation by telling Roderigo how his judgement is brave and now he believes that Roderigo will do whatever it takes to get Desdemona s love. Iago says that if Roderigo does not complete the plan, then he cannot try to kill him. The fooled Roderigo is shocked and is now completely loyal to Iago who barely got out of this bad situation using his manipulation skills. Later in the play, Roderigo finally recognizes that Iago has been taking advantage of him saying, O damned Iago! O inhumane dog! (5.1.74). As seen by his constant manipulative actions and dialogue, Iago reveals himself as a sociopath. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The eye is developed in a way that it receives physical stimuli like light and send it to the brain as an electrical signal that is responsible for interpreting signals as images (Goldstein, Humphreys, Shiffrar, Yost, and Wiley, 2005). Among the animals, human vision is regarded as the most sophisticated. The three primary layers of the eye include choroid, retina, and cornea. Furthermore, the human eye is responsible for the complex color perception that is initiated and instigated by cones in the retina and complicated by the integrating impulse in the brain. The process of sight All the vision is based upon the perception of the electromagnetic rays. These beams then pass through cornea as light and get into the eye through the pupil. The pupil performs the function of a gatekeeper because it allows less or much light to enter to enable an individual to see an image clearly (Goldstein, 2010). Iris is the pigmented area, which is around the pupil, and it acts as a sphincter. Furthermore, iris has two layers that are responsible for changing the quantity of light that enters the eye (Goldstein, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Amusing Ourselves To Death Essay Question Two: While having read many different authors this semester for this class, two seemed to jump out at me in having the most in common. Neil Postman(1985) does not specifically discuss the societal pressures of forced gender roles in advertising the same way the Jean Kilbourne addresses in her book and film series, but there is a connection in the topics they discuss. I was a bit put off by the task of reading the entire Postman book, Amusing Ourselves to Death, however, the topics in each chapter make for some thought provoking and tantalizing ideas of the societal issues that we seem to take for granted. The chapter about public discourse and the new methods that were employed to create communication through the age of exposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two authors do not necessarily have much in common on the surface but just below when one can ascertain the message being put out by each author it is clearly connected in the form of technology, its historical and current uses and how the advent of easy communication technology has allowed us to water down our vast culture by making it easy to objectify humans, animals and nature if the explanation is sensational enough. I ve learned through reading Neil Postman s book(1985), Amusing Ourselves to Death, that we seem to look at forms of communication as following a linear path. The invention of easy communication created a niche in societies that became a place for further discourse, sharing of ideas and knowledge, but in the end, was used ultimately to control, shape and form the masses. Neil Postman delved into topics that I think are somewhat forgotten by history and societies as they become so engrained in our way of viewing the world around us. Jean Kilbourne (1999) taught me that we are all subjected to societal gender normalization through mass media, print media and news programs. The sheer lack of honest and open communication in our society puts us at risk for being objectified, sexualized and demoralized, all without realizing that this is ... In contemporary society, we often see modern artists use influences from past theories, ideas, designs, etc. Inception, the 2010 sci fi action film, is a movie about illegal spying by entering the minds of certain individuals by sharing dreams. Dom Cobb and his partner, Arthur, use this tactic to extract or plant desired information from or into their unconscious. The second function of the dream, according to Freud, is to protect the dreamer s sleep from disruptions in the sleep environment. It is obvious to see this attribute operating in the movie Inception. While Cobb and his team go into the mind of another individual during a dream, they often do it on comfortable chairs, beds, or recliners. It is one team member s job to make sure that the dreamers are not woken up by anything, or in contradiction, they wake the dreamer up if the dream is not going as planned. The team member awakens them by measures of a kick, or a means of falling. When you dream and you get a feeling that you are falling, it often wakes you up in a jolt. Inception shows various scenes where the team member staying back is trying extremely hard to protect the dreamer s from awakening in their unconscious state. Freud strategized that the personality was composed of three elements; the id, ego, and superego. The id is the component of personality that is present from birth, and is exclusively unconscious. According to Freud, the id is the source of all psychic energy, making it the primary component of personality (Cherry,1). On the other hand, the ego is the element of the personality that is responsible with reality. According to Freud, the ego develops from the id and ensures that the impulses of the id can be expressed in a manner acceptable in the real world (Cherry, 1). It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the years that followed the War, a sense of national unity materialized throughout the country as a One Party System grew out of James Monroe s presidency with the disappearance of the Federalists. The Columbian Centinel proclaimed that this time period after the War of 1812 was an Era of Good Feelings , a phrase applied to Monroe s presidency ever since. During his presidency, Monroe supported the American System in which the government supported economic growth and protective measures for domestic manufacturers from foreign competition. Unfortunately, not everyone favored the American System. The South, primarily agricultural with a large exporting economy, had to import all of its goods having to pay up to ⅓ it s price in tax in order to comply with the American System. John Randolph, a Southerner, expressed his grievances to Congress hoping to alleviate the struggles of the South by saying, no one interest in the country should be sacrificed by the management of taxation to another... the agriculturalists bear the whole front of the war and taxation (Document A). In saying this Randolph not only questioned Congress s intentions of collecting revenue and favoring the North, but also its job to regulate commerce, not taxes. The American System clearly drove a wedge between Northern and Southern interests. The institution of chartering a Second National Bank also stimulated many controversies. I fathom the idea that some social norms and expectations would be quite difficult to accomplish. Surprisingly, without much thought I knew exactly what norm I wanted to break. I decided to break the well known concept that each gender must go to the restroom in their designated restroom area. I planned on starting the assignment by choosing a few public restrooms in which I would enter the men s restroom.
