Darwin s Theories Of The Time Traveler
The Time Traveler theorizes that the Morlock and Eloi people were both descendants of man. The Eloi
people once reigned over the Morlocks; they were scared of the Eloi but as the Time Traveler observes
that they are no longer afraid. The once strong, powerful and almighty Eloi were now becoming weak.
One of Darwin s theories that states humans will continually evolve. The Eloi people are only
surviving because Morlocks are providing an environment for them to dwell in. Their intelligence has
allowed this because they can hunt, build and maintain a sustainable way of life. The Morlocks are the
hardworking class types of the future. Darwin s natural selection theory relates to how the Time

Types Of Sleep, Rapid Eye Movement ( Nrem )
College students are among the most sleep deprived people in the country. According to a 2001 study,
only 11% of college students have good sleep quality and 73% have occasional sleep problems
(Brown, 2014). Many college students misjudge the need for a good night s sleep. There are many
factors that contribute to a pattern of poor sleeping habits such as, stresses of classes and jobs, being
independent and living on your own for the first time, and being surrounded by a very active social
scene that can be found on almost all campuses. Most people need to sleep eight hours each night, this
being especially true for college students. There are two types of sleep, rapid eye movement (REM)
and non rapid eye movement (NREM). NREM sleep is divided into four stages, stages three and four
are referred to slow wave sleep. REM is a very active type of sleep where the brain is almost as active
as if it was awake. Deep sleep is essential for restoring energy and allowing the body to undergo
maintenance. When in NREM wounds are healed, white blood cells are created to aid your body s
defenses, muscles are restored, and the growth hormone is released. Without enough deep sleep, all of
these processes will be lacking (Rama, Cho, Kushida 2005). NREM sleep accounts for 75 80% of
sleep time. Stage one makes up 3 8 % of sleep time and mostly occurs in transition from alertness to
the other stages of sleep. Stage two begins approximately 10 12 minutes of stage one and
compromises 45 55%

The Analysis Of The Deepwater Horizon Study Group
BP leadership along with partners did not have proper governance and process to evaluate the risk that
they are willing to take. The employee at every level does not know how much risk to take nor did any
corporate policy exist to guide them. Having zero risk tolerance and zero safety defects in these
complex operations ensure there are no human losses. The analysis of the Deepwater Horizon Study
Group (2011) (p.11) shows that the leadership was concerned about how much money was spent in
excess and did not address previous violations or preventive steps. Instead of downplaying, BP could
have accessed the situation, analyzed, and communicated just before and after the explosions from an
organizational behavior perspective. Communication is an important tool and basic needs of any
organization to effectively discuss or write to their employees, clients, external vendors, and the
government to govern internal process and enhance its customer experiences. Communication
Employees communicate with each other for effectively carrying out corporate responsibilities. As
Robbins and Judge (2014) explains employee shares and conveys ideas and information through
communication using four of its major functions such as control, motivation, emotional expression
and information (p. 299). The offshore oil drilling job is complex and needs engineering expertise. BP

Tip of the tongue States Metacognitive Awareness Melinda Ortiz Florida International University
Word Count: 913 Have you ever had a feeling of forgetting a word or name you desperately want to
say but can not quite get your thought wrapped around the actual word? This phenomenon is called tip
of the tongue, or TOT. As stated in the text, TOT describes your subjunctive experience of knowing a
target word in which you are searching, but cannot recall what the subjunctive word is at that very
moment (Matlin, 2014). Individuals whom experience a TOT moment can recall several phonological
features of the target word such as a first letter, syllables, or other words that are similar, although the
whole phonology is not available (Brown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mentally he knew the names that were on each of the pictures but could not actually get the word out.
He was then asked to try and indicate a phonological feature of the word, or another word that was
similar to the target word, but he was unable to provide any information phonologically that was
associated to the target word. The experiment preformed on Dante in this article supports the two
stage model of lexical production regarding the lexical retrieval failure of words (Badecker at. El). In
conclusion, the tip of the tongue phenomenon is an experience that happens to everyone sometime
during his or her life. Trying to recall a word can be frustrating, but with the help of phonological
indicators, word retrieval can be possible. Our lexicon, or word bank is filled with tens of thousands of
words that we learn over time, so difficulty trying to retrieve the right word from our bank advocates
that there are so many words that could fit one category and the one we are trying to retrieve is at the
tip of our tongue. The tip of the tongue phenomenon is associated with lexical retrieval failure because
it is an event where a word could not be recalled to finish a thought. The study by Badecker et. al
(2011), supports the idea of lexical retrieval failure in that individuals who have trouble recalling
words have an idea of what they want to say but cannot retrieve the word. References Biedermann, B.,

Assisted Living Executive Summary
According, to Zekman, (2014) resident s needs at Sunrise Assisted Living were not because they were
not performing their tasks adequately. The functional manager failed to evaluate the performance of
employees, and checking on the residence s to see if they are getting the proper services they need.
The functional manager and the employees breech their duties; they should be working as a team to
provide all the help the residents require because they are paying for it. Based on research, general and
functional managers are responsible to imply their knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm in an

Analysis Of Mickey Mouse Is A Hero Of The Great Gatsby By...
Mickey Mouse is a well loved symbol of the greatness of America. He represents a long carefree era
when everything in the world has gone well for the most prosperous nation on earth. He symbolises
the prosperity of Americans throughout a period when they have dominated the world both
economically and politically.
It is significant that a creature often viewed in other countries as a pest to be eradicated can rise in the
United States of America to become a movie star and a household name. This symbolises the
American dream where everyone (including apparently rodents and quite possibly many other non
human personalities) can expect freedom of speech, freedom of actions and freedom to make an
honest living. It is important to note in this context that the rise to fame and/or riches of an underdog
has long been a popular theme in the folk lore of western countries in general but of America in
particular.
Not content to make a hero out of one rodent, the American public has also idolised Mickey s partner
Minnie. It is interesting to note that Mickey and Minnie frequently demonstrate behavior not unlike
human courtship behavior. It is also interesting to note that this happily unmarried couple remain
perpetually in this state of innocent bliss. This state seems to capture the innocence of childhood that
children do not know they have and adults reminisce about incessantly.
In addition to their role as a platonic couple Mickey and Minnie demonstrate socially acceptable

New Criticism Essay
The School is a short story written by Donald Barthelme and published in 1974 in The New Yorker.
Donald Barthelme is a post modernist writer known for his deceptively simple yet powerful and
insightful short stories. The School is a story that takes a good hard look at the sensitive topic of death.
The theme of this story is about the cycle of life and how death is an integral part of it. The story is
written in first person narrative. The narrator here is the teacher and he talks about how he and his
young students of 30 kids encountered death throughout their time together in class. He uses edgy
humor and a conversational tone in his seemingly complex plot with a surprising effect that will stick
with the reader long after they are done reading it. The context of the plot found in The School
presents the readers with the timeless question of the meaning of life. However, this question does not
seem to present itself immediately to the reader. In order to appreciate Barthelme s work in this piece,
it is crucial that one utilizes the New Criticism s approach to reading. New Criticism was first
developed in the 20th century and it makes reading and interpreting literature a systematic activity.
New Criticism as an analytical tool helps the readers to understand and gain insight into all forms of
the written works through sheer understanding and by reading closely. This means that our focus

Data Acquisition Case Study
2. Methods
2.1 Data acquisition
2.1.1 Hardware
The data acquisition was based on the miPod sensor called inertial magnetic measurement unit
containing a MPU9150 chip with a three dimensional accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer.
The miPod IMMU was manufactured in such a way that it is attached to each skateboard and in a
stable condition (see Fig. 2).
Video acquisition was done using a GoPro Hero 2 camera. Furthermore, a Vicon MX motion capture
system with 16 cameras used for referencing the orientation of the board. For this orientation, six (6)
reflective markers were used on each skateboard. The motion capture system and IMMU are
synchronized by a light based trigger. Whenever the athlete is in the vicinity, a trigger is sent ... Show

However, only detected events will be classified.
Tricks are found by having high accelerometer at the landing impact after the execution of a trick.
First, area of interest is determined by the highest accelerometer readings. Secondly, the gyroscope
gets the exact time of landing impact within the previous area of interest. Thirdly, the trick time
difference is based on the detected landing impact. An illustration of this is in Fig. 4.
The accelerometer signal is analysed by a sample wise processing of data stream. The detected area is
based on the highest acceleration signal at landing impact. The sum of accelerometer acquired values
will be calculated by the time. And the threshold is set based on athletes, skateboard and ground. If the
sum of accelerometer values goes beyond the declared threshold, at that time. The signal will be the
area of interest. This means each performed trick can have multiple area of interest due to the landing
impact after the trick.
However, hard take off, hard kicks on board, more acceleration is measured on each trick could
exceed the specified threshold and this leads to more area of interest.
Contrary to highest acceleration signal gotten at take off, the gyroscope signal shows the highest
change in signal at landing impact. For all previously detected times and derivative of the gyroscope
signal will be analysed with the interval {ta 1s] to ta +1s]. therefore, L 1 norm of the gyroscope

Who Is Cesar Chavez A Hero
Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927 on a small farm in Yuma, Arizona. Cesar Chavez had eight
kids with his only life. His parents were immigrants from Mexico and they worked in the fields and
would come home very tired and exhausted every day and they would work really hard for very little
pay. Cesar Chavez was a hero because he helped immigrants have a better working conditions in the
fields and better pay to help them have a better life. Cesar Chavez wasn t scared to stand up for what
was right and for what he believed in. When he thought something should be changed he would
boycott and start strikes go fix what was wrong. Many people didn t like him and they would tell him
hurtful things but he never stopped believing in what was right. He changed the ways of immigrant
farm workers and helped them have a better life many people would go to his house and thank him
everyday. My hero wanted latinos to have better working conditions in the field and he also wanted
them to have better by getting better pay. He wanted them to have better supplies for working and they
started a boycott so that workers could get a raise at their work. Whenever he would start a boycott or

The Chemical Elements Hydrogen And Oxygen
Approximately 75 percent of the Earth s surface is comprised of water. Formed by some of the tiniest
know elements that can be found, and yet water shapes and is a vital part of the biological processes
on Earth regardless on which phase of matter, namely solid, liquid, or gas, it is in. Therefore, scientists
and chemists always search for water, especially liquid water, first in other distant planets considering
that finding water on other planets is a major development in the search of life.
Water is a substance that is composed of the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen. A molecule
consists of two hydrogen atoms, each linked by a single covalent bond to an oxygen atom. However,
only two of the six outer shell electrons of oxygen are used for this purpose, leaving four electrons
which are organized into two non bonding pairs. These pairs surrounding the oxygen have a partially
negative charge mainly through electrostatic attraction increasing its electronegativity, which tend to
arrange themselves as far from each other as possible in order to minimize repulsions. In turn, makes
the hydrogen atoms to have a partially positive charge, and therefore making the two non bonding
pairs remain closer to the oxygen atom, which exert a stronger repulsion against the two covalent
bonding pairs, effectively pushing the two hydrogen atoms closer together. This electronic structure of
water makes it possible for the molecule to bend on a special way, shown through the figure:

Reasons For Corruption In Thailand
Who is responsible for the Corruption in Thailand? Thailand is one of the most beautiful places in the
world. It s full of beautiful beaches, cities and wonderful food, however it is also home to a great
amount of corruption. I like to believe that the corruption in Thailand is caused by globalization, the
process where businesses or organizations gain international influence. Therefore this research is
based off of the question how are big corporations responsible for the corruption in Thailand? Big
corporations are responsible for the corruption in Thailand because of bribery and violations of the
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
What are the working conditions in the factories in Thailand? The working conditions in these
corporation s factories are unacceptable. According to the article titled Former Nike Factory Worker

corporations like this are causing the corruption by letting this happen.

Snare Drum History
A paradiddle is a rudiment used to practice accents and tempo on the snare drum. Once one learns the
paradiddle, it could be identified in nearly every rock song. However, without the snare drum, the
paradiddle would not have that same groove that it does today. Meaning that music would not be the
same either. The snare drum is the catalyst for a clear majority of the music played today. The snare
drum dates to as far as 6000 BCE in Mesopotamia. Back then, it was simply a square piece of clay
that could be hit with a stick. The idea of a strand on the drum did not exist until the 1400s with the
Tabor at its prime. The Swiss and Ottoman empires used it during military expeditions. The Tabor
evolved into what s known as a field drum , which is a larger drum that was carried by a strap. This
drum still rattled every time it was struck. It wasn t until the 1600s that there was a screw used to hold
the cover of the drum down. This gave the drum the sharp and tight snapping sound heard today. It
could be argued that once the drum was made of brass, that s when it became known as the snare
drum. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why? Because there s nothing like it. It s typically a small drum, but it can have a variety of sounds
that affect the tone and tempo of a song. The very composition of the snare itself makes a huge
difference. For instance, a triple flanged hooped snare would ring longer, making the strikes, and rolls
more intense, or more melodic. Also, metal shells are more durable, allowing heavier rim shots that
add a heavier feel to a song. Muffling the snare can also incredibly impact the sound. Some drummers
tend not to muffle it at all, leaving the sound to be pure and unadulterated. Some drummers muffle the
snare to the point where the sound is more felt and less heard. All types of snare drums serve their
purpose as a staple in any drum kit for many genres of

Family Dynamics In The United States
There are many different family dynamics in today s society. But what really makes a family? Every
definition found has defined family, in simple terms, as A father and a mother raising their children
together. However, not every family is like that. Most families are not like that at all. Different aspects
come into play in families such as divorce, death, and abandonment that can redefine the family
structure, either for the better or for the worse. A family does not have to consist of the traditional
sense of the nuclear family, but rather a family can consist of friends, step siblings, step parents, half
siblings, or family members outside the immediate circle of parents and brothers and sisters. Anyone

more children and having more fun. Consider the post World War II baby boom as an example of this.

people tend to make more money than sick people. But what about the economy of single mothers?
Most western countries find that single mothers are more likely to be poorer than a two parent

the children. A study was done examining eight different countries and their social economic status
and single mother homes, They find that although the relative economic status of single mother

Everybody has their own worries and opinions, so they choose to care about different things. Barbara
Ehrenreich puts it this way, The world may be flat, as New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman
has written, but I always liked to think that I was standing on a bit of a hill (608). The truth about
outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes
this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand
or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly
blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing
situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s
worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American
people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that
understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real
victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift.
His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence.
According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened
or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that
exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks

Tariff In America
Tariffs have a great need to be fully increased across the board, first of all. If the tariffs were more
costly the money it will costs to outsource the services or products sold by companies will eventually
here in America to then start using more Americans to produce similar goods needed to make the
companies goods and services. I understand it s always better way to have any country use their own
locals to do the work in general to get things instead of getting out of the foreign companies to make
our electronics, shoes, clothes, toys, etc., and yes I can see how China Mexico are not the only
countries that have the types companies that make cheaper products and use cheaper parts some
companies here in the states do too, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The end result is that consumers pay more for the goods. With history we have seen many I don t like
the idea of jobs that leave our country, as I have lost a job before, because the medical tubing machine
could be ran cheaper in Mexico, where me and several co workers (4) who ran it safely here, the
company we worked for leased the machine for 2 workers to run not so safely as we did it here in the
states, with all the rules we have to follow for safety. Without the tariffs we would continue to lose
jobs to other countries with cheaper labor cost. It is believed that it will continue to add to the
unemployment rate and increase the money lost from the U.S. economy and not coming back. Tariffs
have proven that they can keep the jobs in the U.S. and the money will stay too, which will be spent
on in stores, in local restaurants, housing, entertainment, groceries and other stuff. In the past and at
times some still think of tariffs as a bad word. Yes things here in America are better by far taxes, the

Examples Of The Bible Reference About Dinah
1a. Bible Reference about Dinah s Character
The Bible introduces Dinah as the daughter of Jacob from Leah; Gen. 30:21 And afterwards she bare a
daughter, and called her name Dinah. The remainder of the book of Genesis gives some detail that
Dinah was bare in Padanaram, she was the seventh children from Leah and with her other brother
(Gen. 46:15). The Bible doesn t describe the appearance, the attitude, even the character of Dinah. We
can see a little bit character of Dinah in one occasion when Jacob and family stay some time in the
Shechem (Gen. 34:1 31).
1b. What I have learnt from Dinah s Character
A. Curiosity or An Adventureous
Genesis 34:1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the
daughters of the land. This was shown that Dinah has the curiosity inside her heart. Some of the books
mention that was because Dinah grew as a teenager or youth that ... Show more content on

The World Acceptance
If Jacob did not stay in that city, perhaps the terrible thing will not happen to Dinah. Since Dinah also
still live in the flesh, she wanted the world acceptance. She dresses the same kind of the city girls at
that place, which Josephus relates that she went to attend a festival at Shechem. Even the Bible didn t
mention how Dinah dressed herself, we can imagine how she wanted same with the dressing of city
girl which look beautiful. Edith Deen imagine Dinah ... In graceful tunic style dress of a soft pastel
colour, in the tones of the early flowers. Perhaps she was also wearing a veil that fell softly across her
face...
This world promises the good thing about life in this earth, the popularity, many friends, the riches.
But follow the world, is followed into the destruction of life. As Dinah wore the same dressing as the
Sheckem city girls; she got the consequence that Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of
the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her (Gen. 34:2). He thought she was a
common harlot.

My Dream Can Become Your Reality
THOMAS KUNEMOEMI Your dream can become your reality Everybody has dreams and most of
the people have goals. If we wish our goals and dreams to become reality, we need to move toward
them systematically and purposefully. By nature, we tend to perpetually begin with distance between
wherever we tend to square measure and wherever we wish to be. Our job is to work toward our
dreams till it became reality. To accomplish that, we want to draw our goals and dreams nearer to our
self, whereas at the same time moving toward them. Some people plan to attract their goals while not
taking abundant action. Others like better to act on their goals, however while not the other advantage
of additionally drawing those goals to them. Action alone will bring positive results, however it s
abundant quicker to mix the 2 techniques. For the sake of clarity, let s differentiate between dreams
and phantasy. In some conversations, the 2 can be interchangeable. Not therefore during this case.
Once I point out dreams, I m talking about extremely fascinating goals, future realities that we tend to
absolutely will notice. For our functions, a dream are some things that we tend to square measure
willing to figure toward, and square measure determined to manifest, a bit like a goal. What
reasonably dreams and goals does one have? All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by
night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was

Generational Differences Essay
Generational Differences
Every generation is influenced by its period s economic, political and social events. From the Great
Depression to the civil rights and women s movements to the advent of television and advanced
computer technologies. Thus generational background/situation may also affect the way they work.
The key is to be able to effectively address and take advantage of the differences in values and
expectations of each generation in the workplace. The current work place consists of four different
generations; The Baby Boomers (1946 1964) who are slowly retiring and existing the workforce, The
Generation X (1965 1976), The Generation Y or millennia (1977 1997), and the Generation Z who are
about to or are just entering the work force. Although these different generations tend to want similar
things in a workplace their environment/background has shaped their character, values, and
expectations (Hahn 2011).
Baby Boomers perspective
According to Hahn (2011), baby boomers share the following background and characteristics:
Raised during a time of economic prosperity and optimism.
Grew up with a clear division of gender roles and low divorce rate.
Experience the Vietnam War, the Apollo 11 moon landing, and the civil right movement.
They are comfortable working in hierarchical organizations.
Demonstrate a strong sense of self, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Expect life to revolve around work.

Cultural Influence Of The Early Medieval Era
Exam 2: Cultural Influence One prominent theme that has been encountered throughout this course
has been the idea of influence from one culture to another; a cultures influence on another can impact
things such as stylistic transition, and transfer of subject matter. The combination of local traditions
and newly introduced ideas will allow for new types of artwork to be produced. Artwork during the
Early Medieval era, Romanesque era, and Gothic era demonstrates how local and imported ideas
intermingle to produce new things. In order to fully express the idea of cultures integrating local ideas
with ideas of other cultures to form new artworks, focusing specifically on architecture will allow for
the theme to be fully justified. During the dynamic Early Medieval era, which dates back to 500 1000
BCE, European identity was developed and stimulated by Europeans interactions with other cultures
in Eurasia and the Mediterranean. During the Early Medieval era early Christian basilicas such as
Santa Sabina and San Paolo fuori le Mura (St. Paul s Outside the Walls) maintained the basic structure
of the Roman basilica, and incorporated local ideas, which include added Christian elements such as
the transept and the ambo. The Romanesque era is the art of Europe from approximately 1000 AD to
the rise of the Gothic style in the 13th century. Romanesque architecture retained many basic features
of Roman architectural style, which include round headed arches, vaults, apses, and

How Did Calculus Contribute To The Development Of Europe
There was an unexpected explosion in the math and science world in the 17th century across Europe,
known as the Age of Reasoning. Scientists such as Galileo, Brahe and Kepler continued to increase
our knowledge on mathematics and science, especially the solar system which led to Kepler s laws of
planetary motion. Isaac Newton also discovered the laws of physics explaining Kepler s Laws, and
brought together the concepts now known as calculus. The invention of the logarithm by John Napier
contributed to the advances of science and astronomy and was one of the most significant
developments of this time. Rene Descartes development of analytical geometry and Cartesian
coordinates allowed the orbits of the planets to be plotted. Other mathematicians such as Fermat and
Pascal formulated theorems which extended our knowledge on number theory. Pascal is most famous
for his Pascal triangle even though similar figures had been done by the Chinese and Persian
mathematicians before him. Newton and Leibniz revolutionized mathematics by developing
infinitesimal calculus. Much more credit should be given to many other mathematicians at this time,
but as said before, this was a time of severe increase in mathematics and these are only a few of the
most important discoveries. (15) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The s First Modern Grocery Store
Moreover, on that bright June day the hurry and spring in the pretty redhead s step had a teeny bit to
do with what her best friend, Sylvia, had told her earlier that same morning: someone new had come
to town; a handsome, mysterious young man. All the harbor girls whispered in delight; gossiping,
speculating and wondering who would land the first date with this new guy. Rumors had it that he had
started work at the newly opened First National, the harbor s first modern grocery store. Oh sure, there
were fish markets and butcher shops and the likes, but mostly, folks had milk, cheese and butter
delivered, and the majority of women made their own bread and put up their own vegetables and
preserves. However, now with this new grocery store, their basics could all be purchased in one locale.
The young man that the girls were all buzzing about had only been in Cutler Harbor for two days or
so, no one had met him yet. It was Priscilla, who told Natalie; he lived in Damariscotta, some twenty
miles away (he did). Then Natalie told Sylvia that she heard he had a car (he did not). In conclusion,
Sylvia told Lelia he looked like a dreamboat, just like Clark Gable (he did). The person Lelia had
worn her hand sewn dress for, and couldn t wait to witness with her own eyes was Owen Isaac Bauer.

Club Drugs and Teens Essay
Introduction
In today s society, teens are a common target of anti drug campaigns and government advertisements.
The goal of these campaigns is to make teens and young adults aware of the dangers associated with
drug use. While these campaigns are generally effective, teens are still greatly tempted by the
dangerous, exciting, and fast paced world of club drugs. Despite the information they are constantly
receiving from their teachers, parents, and government media, some teenagers will still adamantly
pursue drugs in hopes of finding a good time.
Some of the club drugs that teens are likely to try are extremely dangerous and can ruin a person s

It is used as a dissociative drug, one that can cause near death or out of body experiences in users. This
was first realized when medical patients who were under the influence of Ketamine reported
experiences in which they floated around the room they were in, watching their own body being
operated on by doctors. While this was startling, Ketamine was still seen as a very useful anesthetic in
the medical world, and continued to be used by doctors.
In today s club and rave scene, especially in Europe, buying and using Ketamine from non
pharmaceutical sources can be extremely risky, due to mislabeling, inaccurately noted or inconsistent
potency, and a common practice of mixing Ketamine with other, more powerful drugs before sales.
When a user buys Ketamine from a drug dealer, it is quite possible that he or she is also getting
cocaine, heroin, or ecstasy mixed with their purchase.
Because teenagers can be uncaring about their own safety, some simply see Ketamine as a safe,
harmless drug. However, the drug they buy can be something much stronger and much more
dangerous than pure medical Ketamine. While it s use has declined since it s outlawing in 1999,
Ketamine is still sold on the streets and used by teens. It is legal in many other countries, and fears of
increased use are arising.

Monoamine Hypothesis
Introduction Approximately 151 million people are currently combating major depressive disorder
(MDD) worldwide (Haddad Gunn, 2011). Major depressive disorder (MDD) affects around one in six
men, and one in four women during any given moment of their lives, and in any twelve month period,
nearly five percent of individuals in their surrounding communities are depressed (Haddad Gunn,
2011). Depressive episodes may appear at any age; however, MDD is most prevalent in adults who are
eighteen years old to sixty four years old, with a median age of onset being the twenties (Hillhouse
Porter, 2015). The treatment of MDD often consists of evidence based treatments (EBTs) that include
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and cognitive behavioral ... Show more content on

Several researchers (Hirschfield; 2000; and Schildlkruat, 1965) suggest that this hypothesis states that
individuals with depression have minimal concentrations of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine
(as cited in Hillhouse Porter, 2015). Assumptions surrounding the monoamine hypothesis were
founded off an unanticipated discovery during the late 1950 s when two distinct classes of chemical
substances were effective in treating severe depression (Hillhouse Porter, 2015). The first class of
chemical substances contained monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MOAIs), exemplified by iproniazid,
which was utilized to treat tuberculosis, but presented apparent psychotropic effects; the second class
of chemical substances contained tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), represented by imipramine, an
unoriginal type of antihistamine (Mulinari, 2012). Risks factors associated with development of MDD
are lack of support systems, employment opportunities, prior or current abuse, substance abuse,
relationship difficulties, and life stressors (Haddad Gunn, 2011). The inception, development, and
diagnosis of MDD are affected by many factors, that including genes, environment, and behavior
(Yumi et al., 2015). Noteworthy, genetic, behavioral, abuse, and socioeconomic risk factors for
depression include a family history of abuse, alcohol misuse, intimate partner violence or abuse, and
poverty (Haddad Gunn, 2011). Individuals who experience childhood abuse have the potential of
developing unhealthy behaviors or personality disorders in conjunction with severe depression (Yumi

Every year if not every day we have to wager our salvation upon some prophecy based upon imperfect

purposes of the law that an immediate check is required to save the country.
Even though attractive, the idea is highly optimistic because of the fact that there is no concrete

How Is Victoria Woodhull Blood Martin Successful
Victoria Claflin Woodhull Blood Martin, Victoria Woodhull for short, started out as a young girl with
very little, who wanted much. She is most well known for being the first woman to ever run for
President of the United States of America. As well as being a Presidential canidate for the 1872
election, she was also a women s rights leader, a businesswoman, and a medium. She lived a very
controversial life, from being the breadwinner of her family, to being thrown in jail. She was a radical
reformer, she believed in self governing, and that all women have the right to choose what s best for
them, and in some cases, if that meant being a prostitute, then that was perfectly fine. Victoria was a
fire cracker. She became very involved in everything she believed in. In this paper I intend to
summarize breifly the life of Victoria Woodhull, while also discussing her views on self governing, the
impact she made on the women s suffrage movement, and also the obstacles she encountered through
this turmoilous journey.
Victoria Claflin was born September 23, 1838 in Homer, Ohio. She was the daughter of Buck Claflin
and Anna Claflin. In her later years she had painted her childhood as white picket fence, perfect home,
but, in reality it was far from it. Her dad was the town s crook, and her mother was looked at
differently because of her ability to speak with spirits, a talent that Victoria found she also had. From a
young age she possessed great leadership skills. Her nickname was the

Some Keep The Sabbath Going To Church, By Emily Dickinson
In the poem Some keep the Sabbath going to church there are many interpretations of the message
Emily Dickson sends out. According to the poem I keep it staying at home (line 2). There are various
meanings of this quote whether it is a deceiver of something or a statement of the truth. Everyone can
take something different from the poems of Emily Dickson and turn into something that reflects on
their life. She was truly a master writing her poems, but was it just poems or a message. Her poems
are reflections of her life experiences and so many people can relate to these poems. It is proven in
some literature authors tend to write about past life experiences that have made their mark. Authors in
a sense make aware of these life lessons for the youth so they do not make the same mistakes the
author once did. However, not all life lessons are necessarily bad. Emily Dickson is a writer of true

And maybe because of the economic situation : during crisis, people may be more depressed and may
want what we may call simple pleasure such as spending time with their family eating candies...
However, raw material such as cooking oil, eggs, etc increased since 2011 and this may affect the

  • 2. Darwin s Theories Of The Time Traveler The Time Traveler theorizes that the Morlock and Eloi people were both descendants of man. The Eloi people once reigned over the Morlocks; they were scared of the Eloi but as the Time Traveler observes that they are no longer afraid. The once strong, powerful and almighty Eloi were now becoming weak. One of Darwin s theories that states humans will continually evolve. The Eloi people are only surviving because Morlocks are providing an environment for them to dwell in. Their intelligence has allowed this because they can hunt, build and maintain a sustainable way of life. The Morlocks are the hardworking class types of the future. • 3. Types Of Sleep, Rapid Eye Movement ( Nrem ) College students are among the most sleep deprived people in the country. According to a 2001 study, only 11% of college students have good sleep quality and 73% have occasional sleep problems (Brown, 2014). Many college students misjudge the need for a good night s sleep. There are many factors that contribute to a pattern of poor sleeping habits such as, stresses of classes and jobs, being independent and living on your own for the first time, and being surrounded by a very active social scene that can be found on almost all campuses. Most people need to sleep eight hours each night, this being especially true for college students. There are two types of sleep, rapid eye movement (REM) and non rapid eye movement (NREM). NREM sleep is divided into four stages, stages three and four are referred to slow wave sleep. REM is a very active type of sleep where the brain is almost as active as if it was awake. Deep sleep is essential for restoring energy and allowing the body to undergo maintenance. When in NREM wounds are healed, white blood cells are created to aid your body s defenses, muscles are restored, and the growth hormone is released. Without enough deep sleep, all of these processes will be lacking (Rama, Cho, Kushida 2005). NREM sleep accounts for 75 80% of sleep time. Stage one makes up 3 8 % of sleep time and mostly occurs in transition from alertness to the other stages of sleep. Stage two begins approximately 10 12 minutes of stage one and compromises 45 55% ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Analysis Of The Deepwater Horizon Study Group BP leadership along with partners did not have proper governance and process to evaluate the risk that they are willing to take. The employee at every level does not know how much risk to take nor did any corporate policy exist to guide them. Having zero risk tolerance and zero safety defects in these complex operations ensure there are no human losses. The analysis of the Deepwater Horizon Study Group (2011) (p.11) shows that the leadership was concerned about how much money was spent in excess and did not address previous violations or preventive steps. Instead of downplaying, BP could have accessed the situation, analyzed, and communicated just before and after the explosions from an organizational behavior perspective. Communication is an important tool and basic needs of any organization to effectively discuss or write to their employees, clients, external vendors, and the government to govern internal process and enhance its customer experiences. Communication Employees communicate with each other for effectively carrying out corporate responsibilities. As Robbins and Judge (2014) explains employee shares and conveys ideas and information through communication using four of its major functions such as control, motivation, emotional expression and information (p. 299). The offshore oil drilling job is complex and needs engineering expertise. BP had undertaken deep water oil drilling at the Macondo well using the Transocean offshore oil rig. • 5. TOT Tip of the tongue States Metacognitive Awareness Melinda Ortiz Florida International University Word Count: 913 Have you ever had a feeling of forgetting a word or name you desperately want to say but can not quite get your thought wrapped around the actual word? This phenomenon is called tip of the tongue, or TOT. As stated in the text, TOT describes your subjunctive experience of knowing a target word in which you are searching, but cannot recall what the subjunctive word is at that very moment (Matlin, 2014). Individuals whom experience a TOT moment can recall several phonological features of the target word such as a first letter, syllables, or other words that are similar, although the whole phonology is not available (Brown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mentally he knew the names that were on each of the pictures but could not actually get the word out. He was then asked to try and indicate a phonological feature of the word, or another word that was similar to the target word, but he was unable to provide any information phonologically that was associated to the target word. The experiment preformed on Dante in this article supports the two stage model of lexical production regarding the lexical retrieval failure of words (Badecker at. El). In conclusion, the tip of the tongue phenomenon is an experience that happens to everyone sometime during his or her life. Trying to recall a word can be frustrating, but with the help of phonological indicators, word retrieval can be possible. Our lexicon, or word bank is filled with tens of thousands of words that we learn over time, so difficulty trying to retrieve the right word from our bank advocates that there are so many words that could fit one category and the one we are trying to retrieve is at the tip of our tongue. The tip of the tongue phenomenon is associated with lexical retrieval failure because it is an event where a word could not be recalled to finish a thought. The study by Badecker et. al (2011), supports the idea of lexical retrieval failure in that individuals who have trouble recalling words have an idea of what they want to say but cannot retrieve the word. The functional manager failed to evaluate the performance of employees, and checking on the residence s to see if they are getting the proper services they need. The functional manager and the employees breech their duties; they should be working as a team to provide all the help the residents require because they are paying for it. Based on research, general and functional managers are responsible to imply their knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm in an organization. They are in a position where they have to provide strategic leadership to their subordinates and develop a high performing company Hill, Jones, and Schilling (2015). • 8. Analysis Of Mickey Mouse Is A Hero Of The Great Gatsby By... Mickey Mouse is a well loved symbol of the greatness of America. He represents a long carefree era when everything in the world has gone well for the most prosperous nation on earth. He symbolises the prosperity of Americans throughout a period when they have dominated the world both economically and politically. It is significant that a creature often viewed in other countries as a pest to be eradicated can rise in the United States of America to become a movie star and a household name. This symbolises the American dream where everyone (including apparently rodents and quite possibly many other non human personalities) can expect freedom of speech, freedom of actions and freedom to make an honest living. It is important to note in this context that the rise to fame and/or riches of an underdog has long been a popular theme in the folk lore of western countries in general but of America in particular. Not content to make a hero out of one rodent, the American public has also idolised Mickey s partner Minnie. It is interesting to note that Mickey and Minnie frequently demonstrate behavior not unlike human courtship behavior. It is also interesting to note that this happily unmarried couple remain perpetually in this state of innocent bliss. This state seems to capture the innocence of childhood that children do not know they have and adults reminisce about incessantly. In addition to their role as a platonic couple Mickey and Minnie demonstrate socially acceptable ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Analysis Of Donald Barthelme s The School Maria Coquioco September 19, 2015 Greg Christensen New Criticism Essay The School is a short story written by Donald Barthelme and published in 1974 in The New Yorker. Donald Barthelme is a post modernist writer known for his deceptively simple yet powerful and insightful short stories. The School is a story that takes a good hard look at the sensitive topic of death. The theme of this story is about the cycle of life and how death is an integral part of it. The story is written in first person narrative. The narrator here is the teacher and he talks about how he and his young students of 30 kids encountered death throughout their time together in class. He uses edgy humor and a conversational tone in his seemingly complex plot with a surprising effect that will stick with the reader long after they are done reading it. The context of the plot found in The School presents the readers with the timeless question of the meaning of life. However, this question does not seem to present itself immediately to the reader. In order to appreciate Barthelme s work in this piece, it is crucial that one utilizes the New Criticism s approach to reading. New Criticism was first developed in the 20th century and it makes reading and interpreting literature a systematic activity. New Criticism as an analytical tool helps the readers to understand and gain insight into all forms of the written works through sheer understanding and by reading closely. This means that our focus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Methods 2.1 Data acquisition 2.1.1 Hardware The data acquisition was based on the miPod sensor called inertial magnetic measurement unit containing a MPU9150 chip with a three dimensional accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. The miPod IMMU was manufactured in such a way that it is attached to each skateboard and in a stable condition (see Fig. 2). Video acquisition was done using a GoPro Hero 2 camera. Furthermore, a Vicon MX motion capture system with 16 cameras used for referencing the orientation of the board. For this orientation, six (6) reflective markers were used on each skateboard. However, only detected events will be classified. Tricks are found by having high accelerometer at the landing impact after the execution of a trick. First, area of interest is determined by the highest accelerometer readings. Secondly, the gyroscope gets the exact time of landing impact within the previous area of interest. Thirdly, the trick time difference is based on the detected landing impact. An illustration of this is in Fig. 4. The accelerometer signal is analysed by a sample wise processing of data stream. The detected area is based on the highest acceleration signal at landing impact. The sum of accelerometer acquired values will be calculated by the time. And the threshold is set based on athletes, skateboard and ground. If the sum of accelerometer values goes beyond the declared threshold, at that time. The signal will be the area of interest. This means each performed trick can have multiple area of interest due to the landing impact after the trick. However, hard take off, hard kicks on board, more acceleration is measured on each trick could exceed the specified threshold and this leads to more area of interest. Contrary to highest acceleration signal gotten at take off, the gyroscope signal shows the highest change in signal at landing impact. For all previously detected times and derivative of the gyroscope signal will be analysed with the interval {ta 1s] to ta +1s]. therefore, L 1 norm of the gyroscope ... Formed by some of the tiniest know elements that can be found, and yet water shapes and is a vital part of the biological processes on Earth regardless on which phase of matter, namely solid, liquid, or gas, it is in. Therefore, scientists and chemists always search for water, especially liquid water, first in other distant planets considering that finding water on other planets is a major development in the search of life. Water is a substance that is composed of the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen. A molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms, each linked by a single covalent bond to an oxygen atom. However, only two of the six outer shell electrons of oxygen are used for this purpose, leaving four electrons which are organized into two non bonding pairs. These pairs surrounding the oxygen have a partially negative charge mainly through electrostatic attraction increasing its electronegativity, which tend to arrange themselves as far from each other as possible in order to minimize repulsions. In turn, makes the hydrogen atoms to have a partially positive charge, and therefore making the two non bonding pairs remain closer to the oxygen atom, which exert a stronger repulsion against the two covalent bonding pairs, effectively pushing the two hydrogen atoms closer together. This electronic structure of water makes it possible for the molecule to bend on a special way, shown through the figure: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Snare Drum History A paradiddle is a rudiment used to practice accents and tempo on the snare drum. Once one learns the paradiddle, it could be identified in nearly every rock song. However, without the snare drum, the paradiddle would not have that same groove that it does today. Meaning that music would not be the same either. The snare drum is the catalyst for a clear majority of the music played today. The snare drum dates to as far as 6000 BCE in Mesopotamia. Back then, it was simply a square piece of clay that could be hit with a stick. The idea of a strand on the drum did not exist until the 1400s with the Tabor at its prime. The Swiss and Ottoman empires used it during military expeditions. The Tabor evolved into what s known as a field drum , which is a larger drum that was carried by a strap. This drum still rattled every time it was struck. It wasn t until the 1600s that there was a screw used to hold the cover of the drum down. This gave the drum the sharp and tight snapping sound heard today. It could be argued that once the drum was made of brass, that s when it became known as the snare drum. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why? Because there s nothing like it. It s typically a small drum, but it can have a variety of sounds that affect the tone and tempo of a song. The very composition of the snare itself makes a huge difference. For instance, a triple flanged hooped snare would ring longer, making the strikes, and rolls more intense, or more melodic. Also, metal shells are more durable, allowing heavier rim shots that add a heavier feel to a song. Muffling the snare can also incredibly impact the sound. Some drummers tend not to muffle it at all, leaving the sound to be pure and unadulterated. Some drummers muffle the snare to the point where the sound is more felt and less heard. The truth about outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift. His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence. According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks out for themselves and only seeks profit for the firms that they control, many negative things are happening to the lower class, the biggest being the outsourcing of their jobs. Cultural Influence Of The Early Medieval Era Exam 2: Cultural Influence One prominent theme that has been encountered throughout this course has been the idea of influence from one culture to another; a cultures influence on another can impact things such as stylistic transition, and transfer of subject matter. The combination of local traditions and newly introduced ideas will allow for new types of artwork to be produced. Artwork during the Early Medieval era, Romanesque era, and Gothic era demonstrates how local and imported ideas intermingle to produce new things. In order to fully express the idea of cultures integrating local ideas with ideas of other cultures to form new artworks, focusing specifically on architecture will allow for the theme to be fully justified. Depressive episodes may appear at any age; however, MDD is most prevalent in adults who are eighteen years old to sixty four years old, with a median age of onset being the twenties (Hillhouse Porter, 2015). The treatment of MDD often consists of evidence based treatments (EBTs) that include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and cognitive behavioral ... Several researchers (Hirschfield; 2000; and Schildlkruat, 1965) suggest that this hypothesis states that individuals with depression have minimal concentrations of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine (as cited in Hillhouse Porter, 2015). Assumptions surrounding the monoamine hypothesis were founded off an unanticipated discovery during the late 1950 s when two distinct classes of chemical substances were effective in treating severe depression (Hillhouse Porter, 2015). The first class of chemical substances contained monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MOAIs), exemplified by iproniazid, which was utilized to treat tuberculosis, but presented apparent psychotropic effects; the second class of chemical substances contained tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), represented by imipramine, an unoriginal type of antihistamine (Mulinari, 2012). Risks factors associated with development of MDD are lack of support systems, employment opportunities, prior or current abuse, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, and life stressors (Haddad Gunn, 2011). The inception, development, and diagnosis of MDD are affected by many factors, that including genes, environment, and behavior (Yumi et al., 2015). Noteworthy, genetic, behavioral, abuse, and socioeconomic risk factors for depression include a family history of abuse, alcohol misuse, intimate partner violence or abuse, and poverty (Haddad Gunn, 2011). Individuals who experience childhood abuse have the potential of developing unhealthy behaviors or personality disorders in conjunction with severe depression (Yumi et al., ... According to Section 69A blocking of internet site can take place only by a clear and reasoned order after following with several procedural rules and safeguards which also includes a hearing to the originator and intermediary. There are two ways in which a blocking order for a website can be passed first by the Designated Officer after complying with the 2009 Rules and second by the Designated Officer when he has to act on an order passed by a competent court. The intermediary using its own prudence to whether information must or must not be blocked is notably absent in Section 69A read with 2009 Rules. Exemption from liability of intermediary is enumerated under section 79(3)(b) says that the intermediary upon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That at any rate is the theory of our Constitution. It is an experiment, as all life is an experiment. Every year if not every day we have to wager our salvation upon some prophecy based upon imperfect knowledge. While that experiment is part of our system I think that we should be eternally vigilant against attempts to check the expression of opinions that we loathe and believe to be fraught with death, unless they so imminently threaten immediate interference with the lawful and pressing purposes of the law that an immediate check is required to save the country. Even though attractive, the idea is highly optimistic because of the fact that there is no concrete evidence to proved that good, rational just arguments always beat and win over unjust and bad arguments. Psychological research proves that people are very prompt in accepting the opinion that he/she prefer or already hold, and not to change it only on rational grounds .so, casteist, sexist, communally charged, class ideologies will dominate a society, not on the strength of its truth but on the strength of its dominance over the ...
