The Lebanon And Israel War
Title: The Lebanon and Israel war, 1982 Marry Kaldor marked a difference between old and new wars
in her book. She uses logical reasoning to tell her readers that new wars are quite different from the
old ones. She has given an idea about the new war trends as to how the wars now occur and how the
countries fight them. She is of the view that these wars are totally different from each other in all
respects. Let us here look into the differences that she has marked for us to make us know that the
differences are sharp and true. Why wars happen? Marry Kaldor has established in her book that both
the old and new wars differ in their ends. The old wars were either fought for the land or for ideology
but the new wars are actually fought for the identity. They are fought for the religious, tribal or ethnic
identity. Actors of The Wars: Actors are the individuals, parties or the states that take active part in
some war. They are the players that cause the war. The new wars are totally different from the old ones
because of their actors. Now the wars are not fought just by the state s armed forces rather the non
state actors, private security contractors or Jihadi are also involved in the present day wars. Level Of
Destruction: In the past, for the lack of advancement and technology the wars were fought on the
smaller scales. The damage that was incurred by the States used to be small as there was no
involvement of massive and destructive weapons. Wars usually used to be

The Early Modern Period
In the Early Modern Period places such as Russia, the Ottoman Empire, China, and the Mughal
Empire all underwent changes within their own culture. Even though these places went through
economic, territorial, and agriculture changes only Russia decides to adopt a Westernize philosophy
for their country.
Russia welcomes the idea of westernization on the premise of Peter the Great seeking Western allies
for crusades against Europe. Characteristics of Westernization include having a strong navy, a
bureaucratic government, strong interest in science and technology, and luxury items that were
imported from the West. Due to the small amount of the middle class citizens, Russia s westernization

Although, they are trying to expand territory to govern diverse peoples. The Mughal Empire s weak
leadership and religiously intolerance impeded their development as an Empire. Ultimately, their lack
of leadership led the British East India company to adopt a great deal of land in India. This also led to
Mughal India becoming a British colony. The state of Mughal India at the end of the modern period is
extinct because they decided to colonize with Britain.
China rejects the idea of westernization because they would rather become isolated as a country, than
adapting to Western ideas. This ideology stems from the fact China believes that they have the most
dominant empire in the world. China is impeded by no technological advances, culture favored
traditional styles, influx of silver caused income to be unequal, population growth produced massive
poverty. By the end of the Early Modern period China is gradually weaken. This is because the lack of
advancement technologically and influx of people in their country. Additionally, this lead to the
demise of the Chinese Empire.
As examined above, most Empire in the Early Modern Period were not keen on the idea of
Westernization because it degrades the values and culture exhibited by their own

Deviance And The Social Institution Of Law
Sociology, the study of social relationships that convey human actions affected by society, is important
so that major social issues could yield a resolution. An area that has intrigued my interest as well as
the interest of others includes law. It is vital to pay attention and study this social institution so that
people can see what certain issues are taking place within lawful measures, and find out why these
issues are occurring. However, within the social institution of law the subject of deviance grasp my
attention the most. In class, my peers and I have covered several different theories that sociologists
study and use to help solve social issues. Deviance is an interesting topic because it consist of so many
different behaviors. Deviance also varies due to the different social norms. What one society considers
acceptable may not be the same for others, so what one society considers departed behavior may be
acceptable otherwise. To figure out what motivates an individual to turn to deviance, a sociologist
must chose a theory that closely relates to this type of behavior. Firstly, there is structural
functionalism. The notes our professor provided explain that this theory assumes that the relationship
between social institutions and people affects society (Sechrist ). It continues to explain that society is
inter reliant, and that everyone has a purpose. The conceptual part of this theory include the three
types of functions. One is the manifest function. This means

Philosophy of Literacy Instruction
Literacy Defined
Literacy embraces reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Integrating all of these into a literacy
program is key. Teachers must provide endless and ongoing opportunities for their student to read,
write, listen, and speak.
There are many components that make up literacy. In order to effectively teach students these
components the teacher must model the concept for the students. As teachers, we can t expect or
assume that the student already knows what we expect of them. Modeling gives students a basis of
what to go by. Modeling is the first and most important step in order for the students to gain mastery
of a concept. A teacher must also undergo guided practice with the students. A teacher should always

For every area of development that I need to address with a student I will make sure that I have at least
two positives to go along with it. This will not bring a child down.
Another important part of my literacy program will be communication with home. I will send home
newsletters and have school meetings where the parents are invited to attend. I will always keep the
parents/guardians informed on everything we are doing in class. I will send home praise notes rather
than just negative notes on students.
In my classroom I will have a specific outline as to what a literacy lesson will look like. Each lesson
will focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I will have a set behavior management plan
that will be followed at all times. I will always introduce a lesson by activating prior knowledge,
motivating the student, and by stating the objectives. I will always model for the students what it is
that they are expected to do. The students will always undergo guided practice before they set off on
their own to do something. Then when I am sure that the students understand I will have them
independently practice. Once the concept is mastered I will assess each student to be sure that they can
apply what they have learned.
When my students pick up a book they will automatically know what to do. I will teach the students to
always predict before they read. I will have the students look at the title and the picture on the

Music Culture And The Music Industry
Born in the late 1950 s, my dad, Robert, has experienced, first hand, the vast changes in the music
industry. The first step into the music culture was at the start of middle school when my dad joined the
school band. Playing the trumpet and baritone was the bait that caused him to become immersed in
music. This initial love of music led to the creation of a garage band with a group of friends adding
piano and guitar to the mix. Age 13 signified the second step into the music industry with the purchase
of his first record, the Eagles Hotel California . This catchy tune was my dad s first record because the
lyrics and beat had an appeal most other songs did not have at the time. Five years later, marked the
third step into the music industry by attending his first concert, The Who. This concert left a lasting
impression on anyone who witnessed it because it was not just the radio anymore, it gave a visual
form to the music. Listening to a song on the radio and witnessing the band members perform the song
live are two vastly different experiences. That being said, it has been years since my dad has attended
a concert. Although the concert was initially an experience that left a lasting impression on my father,
it did not turn him into a concert fanatic. As he grew and matured over the years, as did his taste in
music. Through his travels with the United States Air Force, he was exposed to a broad variety of
cultures along with their different music and sounds. Although his

Where and when an excavation takes place is contingent upon the archaeologist s research project and
the local weather. Excavation season is typically during the summer and archaeological digs typically
last one week to three months, Before, during and after archaeologists dig for artefacts, they collect
data about the archaeological site, record interviews and make notes of their observations. Some types
of data include photographs, maps, soil samples, measurements, drawings and detailed reports about
the excavation. Archaeologists also survey the site using GPS technology and other electronic devices
and input data into databases. Artefacts discovered and obtained through excavation undergo a
conservation process in a lab. They are cleaned and restored by trained conservators, and as the items
are stabilized, additional notes are made to record their characteristics. Archaeologists are typically
actively involved in conservation activities and may take measures to ensure laws exist to preserve the

Government s Military Interventions Toward Native Peoples...
The primary memory of United States westward expansion in the 19th century is one of triumph
because it doubled the nation s territory and increased trade. However, the Old West during the 19th
century was characterized by America s brutal obsession with expansion and the concept of American
exceptionalism. In Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, Judge Holden celebrates the human nature
of violence and its necessity to find order in chaos. Blinded by the greed for control, he refuses to
acknowledge the norms of civilized behavior. Similarly, under the principles of the Manifest Destiny,
the U.S. government s military interventions toward Native peoples overlooked violence. These
parallels reflect the exceptionalist idea that one is inherently more virtuous and entitled to higher
purposes. Historians and primary accounts confirm the parallelism that McCarthy draws between
violence and American history. Therefore, preconceived notions about the positive aspects of
American expansionism are overturned by the significance of its underlying violence. Attempts to
justify westward expansion with Manifest Destiny advocated the pursuit of historical erasure. The
American westward movement rooted from the brutality of American exceptionalism and destructive
manipulation of history. A New York Daily Times article in 1851 romanticized Manifest Destiny as a
national progress where the nation thirsts for freedom in the furthest ends of the earth ( Annexation in
the Pacific ). The

American Freedom Of Speech And Expression
The American people are each unique human beings, not one is like the other. Americans can be
defined as people of self expression and diligence in the workforce because they have multiple
freedoms, rights to be themselves, as well as gratitude towards the United States of America. Many
Characteristics can be used to describe an American but self expression and hard work are the most
important ones. These characteristics are what helped the American society grow into the strong
community it is today. To begin with, American s are admired for their freedom. In America, people
believe a person is born with rights and freedoms. People in America are free to be themselves as well
as express themselves. To define an American as free includes their rights as a human. Franklin D
Roosevelt gave a speech in 1941 about people s freedoms. He states that everyone is entitled to all the
freedoms as a human being. Roosevelt stated The first is freedom of speech and expression (44). This
freedom is in correlation to an American right in Amendment I, freedom of speech. All of the
freedoms Americans have contributed to who they really are. Freedoms of religion, speech, press and
many more make each person unique. Nobody is telling an American they cannot be, say or do
anything. They are free people under the law to live in a way that makes them happy. American s use
their self expression through their rights in order to be free when it comes to speech and many other
rights.

current literature available concerning communication treatments for these clients. A review of their
study highlights specific areas needed for further research as well as important considerations that
must be made when administering treatment. The study discusses important factors such as cognitive

effectively. The operations function, they would say, is inward looking and at best reactive. It certainly
has very little positive to contribute towards competitive success. It is unlikely even to have developed
its resources so as to be appropriate for the company s competitive position. The best that the function
can hope for is to be ignored. At least when operations are being ignored it is not holding the company
back in any way. Certainly the rest of the organization would not look to operations as the source of
any originality, flair or competitive drive. In effect the operations function is aspiring only to reach the
minimum acceptable standards implied by the rest of the organization. It is trying to be internally
neutral , a position it attempts to achieve not by anything positive but by avoiding the bigger mistakes.
Certainly even when good organizations are let down by their operations function the resulting
publicity can be damaging.

Progoti industries limited play a vital role in the transport sector of Bangladesh. It has started its
journey from 1966 and it has marketed 50,000 vehicles such as Cars, Buses, Trucks, Ambulance.
The industrial facility is situated on the Dhaka Chittagong thruway which is just 30km faraway from
port city Chittagong. The processing plant has all the key apparatuses and gears for Painting, Body
Building, Inspecting and Testing of car.
Difference between Data and Information
Data is specific and it is organized for a purpose accurately and timely. Presented within a context, it
gives its meaning and relevance. The uncertainty also gets minimized.
Information is valuable because it can affect decision or an outcome. For example, if the manager is
told about the company s net profit which has been decreased in the past month, then this information
can lead for a reason to cut financial spending for the next month.
Information systems makes operations efficient, it processes data from company inputs and generates
the information that is useful for managing the operations. By adding more data, information can be
more accurate and it will increase the information system s effectiveness. It is also used to support the
organization s long term goals.
Decisions
Information system from the company can help make better decisions by distributing the required
information and modeling the results of the decisions. Decision involves choosing the particular action

Yellow Fever Vaccination Research Paper
A vaccination is a treatment which makes the body stronger against a particular infection.
The body fights infection using the immune system, which is made up of millions of cells including T
cells and B cells. An important feature of the immune system is that it is much stronger when fighting
a disease which it has already fought against before. It has a memory.
Vaccination involves showing the immune system something which looks very similar to a particular
virus or bacteria, which helps the immune system be stronger when it is fighting against the real
infection.
What is the immune system?
The human immune system is a complex network of cells and organs that evolved to fight off
infectious microbes. Much of the immune system s work is carried ... Show more content on

The antigens in a vaccine are recognized by lymphocytes and lead to development of memory cells.
Vaccines teach the immune system by mimicking a natural infection.
After successful immunization with a vaccine, a person is exposed to the actual pathogen, the memory
cells enable the immune system to mount a rapid, sustained immune response. This greatly reducing
the complications associated with a natural infection.
For example, the yellow fever vaccine, first widely used in 1938, contains a weakened form of the
virus that doesn t cause disease or reproduce very well. Human macrophages can t tell that the vaccine
viruses are weakened, so they attack the viruses as if they were dangerous. In the lymph nodes, the
macrophages present yellow fever antigen to T cells and B cells.
A response from yellow fever specific T cells is then activated. The B cells produce yellow fever
antibodies. The weakened viruses in the vaccine are quickly eliminated by our immune system. The
mock infection is cleared, and humans are left with a supply of memory T and B cells for future
protection against yellow

The Pathophysiology Of Muscles
The word muscle has its origins in the Latin word musculus which means little mouse . The
terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought to
be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Another explanation is that at the anatomical level,
some muscles look like mice. This holds true especially for muscles with long, thin tendons that
resemble a mouse s tail.
Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing
characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological
processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic
movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and facial
expressions. How a single tissue performs such varied functions can be attributed to the distinct
mechanical, contractile, structural and electrophysiological properties that are acquired by each
muscle type during the course of development. The two broad classes of muscle fibres are striated

1. Discuss the impact of photography on the nineteenth century landscape. How did it affect painting?
What were the political implications of the medium? Use examples to support your essay.
Landscape painting was a particularly effective vehicle for allegory because it allowed artists to make
fictional subjects appear normal, conditioned, acceptable, or destined. Art was not just about the
landscape, it actually allowed the spirit of the painter to come alive in their work. The allegory was for
moral and spiritual concerns. The introduction to photography therefore impacted 19th century
landscape in a manner that was found to be unacceptable because personal intertwinement of
expression and emotion could not come from photography. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Physics of Mountain Biking Essay
Mountain biking is enjoyed by millions of people throughout the year, and is attracting more and more
people everyday. Physics plays a vital role in this sport and without it, mountain biking would have no
challenges and would cease to exist. The concept of mountain biking is simple. Just take your
primitive bike riding skills, and ride trails found off the beaten path. From this notion of riding a bike,
an Olympic sport has evolved and many people have found meaning and joy in their lives.
m = mass of bike and rider g = gravitational force

In this case gravity is working to your advantage and is pulling you down the hill. So, as you bike
down hills, you can accelerate due to your own power as well as accelerate due to the force of gravity.
Lets take a more in depth look at this force called gravity!
The force of gravity exerts a constant acceleration of 9.81 m/sec^2 towards the center of the earth.
While gravity is being exerted downward, a normal force is being exerted on the rider opposing
gravity. This normal force acts perpendicular to the earth s surface, and for our purposes the trail a
biker is riding. So for example, if a biker were on a flat surface, both gravity and the normal force
would be acting upon the biker, but in opposing directions, thereby canceling each other out and can
be ignored. However, this combination of gravity and the normal force is what makes climbing up
hills difficult, and riding down hills a breeze.
In the sport of mountain biking you experience both accelerations and decelerations. This is what
makes mountain biking so exciting, but it also the reason why you should always wear a helmet!
Acceleration is defined as a change in velocity divided by a given amount of time. A rider accelerates
as he or she exerts energy and starts to pedal, but can also accelerate as he or she rides down a hill, and
this acceleration is due to the force of gravity mentioned earlier. As you accelerate, the weight of the
wheels affects the

Two Negative Impacts Of Transnational Corporations On...
Explain TWO negative impacts of transnational corporations on developing countries.
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to explain why the impacts of transnational corporations on developing
countries are important to understand. Transnational corporations are large companies that have a head
office in one country and subsidiary offices in other countries. They affect all countries; however, they
affect developing countries on a much larger and damaging level. This is because developing countries
are poorer, many people have a lower standard of living, and the resources available and the amount to
hire an employee is significantly lower that one of a developed country. The two negative impacts
caused by transnational corporations that will be discussed in this report are sweatshops and life
expectancy. These impacts are important to understand because they educate us on how the world of
trade is influenced by sweatshops, and how sweatshops effect an individual s life.
Globalisation
The impacts of globalisation are happening around us every day, with or without us realising it.
Globalisation is the breakdown of traditional barriers between nations, and a trend towards faster and
cheaper movement around the world of people, goods, money and information.

Diabetes Of Diabetes Mellitus ( Dm )
Introduction:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels over
an extended period of time. With symptoms including increased urination, thirst, and hunger, diabetes
is mainly due to loss of insulin production in the pancreas or lack of response to insulin produced. As
of 2015, nearly 415 million people worldwide have diabetes with the three main types being Type 1,
Type 2, and gestational. 90% of all diabetes cases are Type 2 (T2D) which is characterized by insulin
resistance, high blood sugar, and lack of insulin. Also known as noninsulin dependent diabetes
mellitus (NIDDM), this disease is primary caused by obesity and lack of exercise in genetically
predisposed people and affects in nearly 29 million people in the US alone, making it the 7th leading
cause of death in the country (American Diabetes Association 2016).
The goal of a diabetes treatment plan is lowering HbA1c to below 7.0%, maintaining good glycemic
control. Glycated hemoglobin or HbA1c is a blood sugar test that reflects the average plasma glucose
concentration over the past three months. The first and best course of treatment is always lifestyle
changes that includes exercise, diet modification, and weight control. Unfortunately, when this
management plan fails or is insufficient, the next option is to take medications to lower HbA1c. Five
non insulin pharmacological options are available. First, biguanides in the form of metformin are

Growing Number of Electric Power Grids
The existing electric power grids face new challenges with the growing economies that are dependent
on electricity. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at risks of being able
to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the growing economies.
The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions is ensured mainly by
having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power capacity necessitates
turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also expensive. Conversely, when
the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need for energy storage becomes a
necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems is offered by renewable energy
sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes with a set of barriers such as the
intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the sources and the lack of proven
distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed generation base [2]. In such
situation, the use of communication and information technologies is attractive to match the demand to
the available supply and dramatically improve performance and efficiency. A smart grid is an
intelligent electricity network that integrates the actions of all users connected to it and makes use of
advanced information, control, and communications technologies to save energy, reduce cost and

The Ownership Advantage Of IKEA
Question 2a: Identify two of your firm s ownership advantages that allow it to successfully compete
internationally. Please explain your answers?
The most important and significant ownership advantage of IKEA is their brand value. With a brand
value of 15,885 million USD, IKEA is ranked 26th on the top 100 of Interbrand s Best Global Brands.
IKEA had an increase in sales and operating income in 2013 of respectively 3 and 15 percent (1).
Interbrand uses three key components to evaluate the brands. The first key component is a Financial
Analysis which measures the economic profit of the brand. Economic profit is the difference between
the earned revenue and the opportunity cost of the input (2). The second key component is the Role of
Brand or in other words the influence on customer choice. Role of Brand measures the proportion of
the decision to purchase that is attributable to the brand relative to other factors. Applying Role of
Brand to forecast profits gives the earnings attributed to the brand alone. Interbrand s last key
component is Brand Strength, which is a diagnostic tool for measuring brand performance relative to
competition. It supports brand management with identifying areas of highest business impact (3).

Designing Pairwise Testing Tool, Constraints, Result And...
In the earlier chapter, a detail explanation of CBPTT development was discussed including the flow,
implementation, result and discussion of experiments conducted. This chapter concluded the research
work on CBPTT with additional features that can be applied to CBPTT in the future.
5.2 Conclusion
Since reliability issues have become one of the most concern issues in software development.
However by conducting software testing, it does not ensure free defect failure software but it can
increase the reliability of a software product. Although it is necessary to test the software thoroughly,
it is impossible to have exhaustive testing. This is the reason interaction testing have been the most
used testing. Especially pairwise testing which use two way interactions to find software defect. This
had become the driven force for this research. The aim of this research was to develop pairwise testing
tool, Constraints Based Pairwise Testing Tool (CBPTT), that can conduct pairwise testing with
constraints supports. Constraints are list of limitations and impossible combinations that can present in
a software system. CBPTT was developed to eliminate these constraints and further reduced the
resulted test cases. Survey on existing tool was conducted to help CBPTT implementation. The result
of the survey was discussed in literature review chapter. The result from the survey included the
available features of existing system that also support pairwise testing and constraints

Social Movement And The Industrial Revolution
There have been several social movements in history that have impacted the world. Groups of people
have come together and tried their hardest to make a difference in unresolved problems and issues. It
is hard to make a difference as an individual trying to change something big, it becomes easier when
you find people who have the same beliefs as you and will fight for it along your side. This is social
change, and normally comes about through collective behavior and social movements. Social change
is a significant change in behaviors and cultural values and norms. For example significant changes
that have occurred in the past are the abolition of slavery, the changes put into action after 9/11, the
feminist movement, and the industrial revolution. As I mentioned early social change occurs through
both collective behavior and social movements. Collective behavior is a voluntary activity that many
people take part in to change norms and values of the people around them. Collective behavior can be
seen in many different ways. For example, there can be crowds, masses, panics, mobs, riots, fads,
public opinion and fashion. An example of this would be when Cooper Tire in Findlay Ohio went on
strike in order to get a new contract with better medical benefits. The workers walked off one morning
and stood outside of the factory. Social Movement is an organized group that works together to
promote or resist change through action. There are many different types of social

How To Write A Spanish Essay
Planning to write a Spanish essay because you think is easier? Spanish and English are two of the
most spoken languages in the world, which have differences and similarities in writing. Despite that
both languages use the same alphabet, Spanish has more difficult writing mechanics such as
punctuation rule, noun s gender and quantity, and verb conjugation that make writing an essay more
laborious. First, Spanish has a complicated punctuation rule because it uses diacritic acute (´) which
can change meaning of words if you don t use it, for example, the words vino (wine in English) and
vinó (past tense of the verb come in 3rd. person). In fact, if you don t use diacritic acute correctly, you
show your bad education in writing. Another Spanish s punctuation rule is the use of double
exclamation and question marks in the beginning and the end of sentences, for example, ¿Qué paso?,
¡Hola! In contrast, English doesn´t use diacritic acute in writing and uses one exclamation and
question mark in the sentence s ending, for instance, What happened?, Hi! ... Show more content on

My Operational Definition Of Social Justice
My operational definition of social justice (the distribution of advantage and disadvantage within a
society) is controversial to my social justice (LGBT Liberation) because they have a disadvantage in
today s society. It s controversial because people today are afraid to come out because they re afraid of
other people s reactions. Everyone in today s society depends on other people s opinions. On what s
right or what s the norm . Many people feel this is a lifestyle choice not part of their make up. The
Supreme Court ruling to allow same sex marriages is still not widely accepts. The pressure of trying to
express who you are can add stress and the stereotypes by others can add an inability to have a career.
The efforts of the LGBT are opening doors for people to be themselves. Standing up for the LGBT
rights is a form of social justice. One of these advocate organizations is the National Youth Advocacy
Coalition. Teenagers as well as adults are faced with these injustices. My idea of social justice is
giving the LGBT the same rights as all other citizens and overcoming stereotypes.
Some of the groups against this social justice are religious groups and their leaders and right wing
political leaders (i.e. Tea Party). While many groups are outspoken against LGBT the biggest problem
is still with individual opinions. Many people still are afraid of what they don t understand.

Theories Of Evolution Of Psychology
Ideas in psychology have been influenced by many fields of study ranging from philosophy to
physics. Evolutionary ideas, themselves, have had a substantial role in shaping psychological thought.
This paper will provide an overview of the influence of evolutionary thought on the field of
psychology along with a discussion of the range of societal implications associated with evolutionary
psychology. The influence of evolutionary ideas on psychology dates back to Charles Darwin, the man
who proposed The Theory of Evolution by natural selection. Evolution theory suggests that organisms
change with time to adapt to their environments. Those organisms best capable of surviving and
making adaptations to their environment will have the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The aforementioned influences eventually lead to the field of evolutionary psychology in which the
common view is that both physical and mental organs developed through natural selection. Biases in
how our brains perceive, process, and react to the world around us can either contribute to our survival
or to the reason we die out . Such biases affect our social behavior and status, sexual selection, and
gender relations (Wright, 2010). Presently, evolutionary psychology has become an interest in popular
culture which in turn influences the subject matter studied in this field. It provides plausible reasons
for an array of human behaviors which sparks interest. People want to know why men have aggressive
tendencies or why some will risk their lives to help those with no benefit to themselves. Survival of
the fittest has become a commonly used phrase and Charles Darwin is no secret. Evolutionary
psychology raises the idea that personality and behavior are mediated by evolutionary forces. This
notion can have both positive and negative implications for society. It can provide a reason for why
we love the people we love; but it can also provide an adaptive role for violent behavior. These ideas
provide a rationale for our ability to think and reason. It makes us question our motives in certain
situations like when we may act altruistically. This is reflected in society in many ways. For instance,

Running Head: U.S. HEALTHCARE SYSTEM REFORM HS543 Health Services Finance Summer
Term 2012 Instructor: Mary Black Course Project Outline U.S. Healthcare System Reform Submitted
By Project Outline This project will explore the current state or our healthcare and where it is
predicted to cost us in the future. We will also examine the overall health programs and how the
uninsured will affect the system entirely. Universal healthcare would alleviate the financial burden on
some of the population and provide access to almost all of the country s population; however, this
system will cost more. Funding the program will be discussed as well as the taxes and other funding
that will help pay for the coverage. Likewise, how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, private insurance are becoming unaffordable for the average family income. (PBS.org)
Impact to Healthcare organizations These increases in cost raise questions of health care expenses at
the hospital level. As higher profits are sought, the cost will become unstable for all, thus causing
many to postpone going to the doctor. However, there are many complicated problems associated with
our healthcare system. We will focus on main issues that can correct many related problems within the
current structure. More importantly, we need to find ways to ensure all Americans have access to
health care; and we need to hone in on how we can get the best value for the $2 trillion dollars we
spend annually on healthcare. Defining the Problem Political disagreements How can we get better
value on the money we spend on healthcare while ensuing all Americans are medically covered?
Moving towards universal health coverage will help the United States to progress towards answering
this question. However, a major hurdle is the idea of letting our government manage the country s
healthcare system. Likewise, officials in Congress cannot agree on how to administrate a healthcare
system. Over 60% of the Republicans say it is not the government s job to provide health care; yet,
over 80% of the Democrats think the government does have this responsibility (CBSNews.com).
Reforming the system, like any major

National Literacy Crusade Of 1980 Essay
The Sandinistas National Literacy Crusade of 1980 (CNA) significantly reduced the rate of illiteracy
in Nicaragua from an estimated forty three percent to twelve percent. Improvements to the literacy
rate were short lived. The instability of Nicaragua under the Sandinistas (1979 1990) effectively froze
state sponsored education programs, minimizing the potential of educational efforts after the 1980
campaign. The weakened Sandinista government, as well as inadequate preparation of post CNA
teachers, allowed the newly literate to lose their literacy. Although the campaign failed to permanently
reduce illiteracy, it did serve as a catalyst for a new brand of Nicaraguan nationalism amongst young
Nicaraguans who served as volunteer teachers. The campaign allowed women to transcend the
traditional social and hierarchical boundaries of Nicaraguan society. Women assumed positions of
authority as teachers, challenging the historically patriarchal norms of Nicaraguan culture.
Introduction
In July of 1979, after years of fighting the repressive Somoza regime, the Frente Sandinista de
Liberacíon Nacional (FSLN) and their allies seized Managua and with it the seat of Nicaragua s
government. The deposition of the Anastasio Somoza Debayle marked the end of a four decades long
dynasty defined by cruelty and cronyism. Under the thumb of the Somocista government, the majority
of Nicaraguans were denied or lacked access to education, health services, running drinking water,

Three Philosophies In China Research Paper
Although there is three philosophies in China. We re learning about Confucianism, Daoism, and
Legalism. The three philosophies have different meanings. The three philosophies are interesting and
rude. In this article you will be learning three philosophies in China that are called Confucianism,
Daoism, and Legalism. First of all, confucianism was the first philosophies. Confucianism was created
by Confucius and he was the maker of that philosophie. Confucianism is if you do not do to others
what you would not want done to you. The goal of confucianism was a just and a peaceful society.

The named Laozi was the man who created Daoism. The influence of Daoism was to make rules less
harly for the people. Daoism is a religion. It was created when Laozi as leaving china and a border
guard recognized him and asked him to write down some of his thoughts before leaving china. Last,
but not least Legalism was the third philosophie. Legalism was based on the teaching of Hanfeizi.
Legalism is based on the idea that most people are naturally selfish. It was not enough for rulers to set
a good example instead they set very strict laws. Legalism was around the era of 475 221 bc. It had
almost immediate influence on the government. When Qin rulers read Hanfeizi writings; they admired
it and adopted some of the legalist ideas. Many people would die because of disloyalty and other
crimes. In fact, these three philosophies helped me learn about what they do and they are in China.
This article will help people that don t know about the three philosophies and even the people that no a
little bit. Confucianism means mostly is if you don t want done to you don t do it to them. Daoism
mostly means that there following nature and don t be selfish. Legalism is mostly about people are
selfish so they must be lead or punishments for wrong or rewards for

The Great Epics And Tales
Mythology is one of the most interesting parts of a culture. It reveals customs, history and traditions
like no other. Above all it defines the way of living and reflects the mentality of an entire civilization.
Almost every society in this world has faced sexism in one form or the other. Some societies chose to
fight it and bring a change. On the other hand there are a few societies where sexism became a way of
life. It is instilled in the minds of the people and passed from one generation to another. It is not
questioned. Instead, It is accepted. Can mythology have a role in this acceptance of sexism in a
society? Like everything, blind faith in the great mythological epics also comes with a price. We fail
to realize that the great epics ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is disheartening that on one hand India is coming forward as one of the most progressive nations
when it comes to science and technology while on the other hand choice is still a luxury for the
women of this society.
Sexism in the modern Indian society is a result of centuries of acceptance and ignorance. Particularly
in this society Sexism takes its roots from mythology and ancient tales of the kings and the queens.
The two of the most powerful mythological tales of all time, the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, aid
in the heightened levels of sexism.
When I was a kid, Amar Chitra Katha was my only source of mythological knowledge except some
short and inspiring stories by my grandmother. I never looked at these tales from a point of view as
different as this. But when I come to think of it now, I believe I am enlightened and I feel empowered.
I believe Mahabharata is one of the greatest stories ever told.It is the tale of the five Pandavas and the
one hundred Kauravas , two groups of cousins who fought each other in war to rule the Bharata
kingdom with its capital as the City of the Elephants, Hastinapura , which lies along the shore of the
Ganga river in north central India.
After losing his kingdom and all his wealth in the game of dice against the kauravas ,Yudhishtira, the
eldest of the Pandavas gambled himself, his brothers and finally their wife, Draupadhi.( Can you
believe it!). Shakuni (maternal

  • 2. The Lebanon And Israel War Title: The Lebanon and Israel war, 1982 Marry Kaldor marked a difference between old and new wars in her book. She uses logical reasoning to tell her readers that new wars are quite different from the old ones. She has given an idea about the new war trends as to how the wars now occur and how the countries fight them. She is of the view that these wars are totally different from each other in all respects. Let us here look into the differences that she has marked for us to make us know that the differences are sharp and true. Why wars happen? Marry Kaldor has established in her book that both the old and new wars differ in their ends. The old wars were either fought for the land or for ideology but the new wars are actually fought for the identity. They are fought for the religious, tribal or ethnic identity. Actors of The Wars: Actors are the individuals, parties or the states that take active part in some war. They are the players that cause the war. The new wars are totally different from the old ones because of their actors. Now the wars are not fought just by the state s armed forces rather the non state actors, private security contractors or Jihadi are also involved in the present day wars. Level Of Destruction: In the past, for the lack of advancement and technology the wars were fought on the smaller scales. The damage that was incurred by the States used to be small as there was no involvement of massive and destructive weapons. Wars usually used to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Deviance And The Social Institution Of Law Sociology, the study of social relationships that convey human actions affected by society, is important so that major social issues could yield a resolution. An area that has intrigued my interest as well as the interest of others includes law. It is vital to pay attention and study this social institution so that people can see what certain issues are taking place within lawful measures, and find out why these issues are occurring. However, within the social institution of law the subject of deviance grasp my attention the most. In class, my peers and I have covered several different theories that sociologists study and use to help solve social issues. Deviance is an interesting topic because it consist of so many different behaviors. Deviance also varies due to the different social norms. What one society considers acceptable may not be the same for others, so what one society considers departed behavior may be acceptable otherwise. To figure out what motivates an individual to turn to deviance, a sociologist must chose a theory that closely relates to this type of behavior. Firstly, there is structural functionalism. The notes our professor provided explain that this theory assumes that the relationship between social institutions and people affects society (Sechrist ). It continues to explain that society is inter reliant, and that everyone has a purpose. The conceptual part of this theory include the three types of functions. One is the manifest function. • 11. Music Culture And The Music Industry Born in the late 1950 s, my dad, Robert, has experienced, first hand, the vast changes in the music industry. The first step into the music culture was at the start of middle school when my dad joined the school band. Playing the trumpet and baritone was the bait that caused him to become immersed in music. This initial love of music led to the creation of a garage band with a group of friends adding piano and guitar to the mix. Age 13 signified the second step into the music industry with the purchase of his first record, the Eagles Hotel California . This catchy tune was my dad s first record because the lyrics and beat had an appeal most other songs did not have at the time. Five years later, marked the third step into the music industry by attending his first concert, The Who. This concert left a lasting impression on anyone who witnessed it because it was not just the radio anymore, it gave a visual form to the music. Listening to a song on the radio and witnessing the band members perform the song live are two vastly different experiences. That being said, it has been years since my dad has attended a concert. Although the concert was initially an experience that left a lasting impression on my father, it did not turn him into a concert fanatic. As he grew and matured over the years, as did his taste in music. Through his travels with the United States Air Force, he was exposed to a broad variety of cultures along with their different music and sounds. Although his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Government s Military Interventions Toward Native Peoples... The primary memory of United States westward expansion in the 19th century is one of triumph because it doubled the nation s territory and increased trade. However, the Old West during the 19th century was characterized by America s brutal obsession with expansion and the concept of American exceptionalism. In Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, Judge Holden celebrates the human nature of violence and its necessity to find order in chaos. Blinded by the greed for control, he refuses to acknowledge the norms of civilized behavior. Similarly, under the principles of the Manifest Destiny, the U.S. government s military interventions toward Native peoples overlooked violence. These parallels reflect the exceptionalist idea that one is inherently more virtuous and entitled to higher purposes. Historians and primary accounts confirm the parallelism that McCarthy draws between violence and American history. Therefore, preconceived notions about the positive aspects of American expansionism are overturned by the significance of its underlying violence. Attempts to justify westward expansion with Manifest Destiny advocated the pursuit of historical erasure. The American westward movement rooted from the brutality of American exceptionalism and destructive manipulation of history. A New York Daily Times article in 1851 romanticized Manifest Destiny as a national progress where the nation thirsts for freedom in the furthest ends of the earth ( Annexation in the Pacific ). Americans can be defined as people of self expression and diligence in the workforce because they have multiple freedoms, rights to be themselves, as well as gratitude towards the United States of America. Many Characteristics can be used to describe an American but self expression and hard work are the most important ones. In America, people believe a person is born with rights and freedoms. People in America are free to be themselves as well as express themselves. The terminology became popular as the movement of certain muscles, most notably biceps, was thought to be reminiscent of a mouse moving beneath a rug. Another explanation is that at the anatomical level, some muscles look like mice. This holds true especially for muscles with long, thin tendons that resemble a mouse s tail. Muscles are specialized contractile tissues responsible for motility, a feature that is a distinguishing characteristic between the plant and animal kingdoms; and are responsible for most physiological processes in higher animals like blood circulation, contractions of the heart, involuntary peristaltic movements of the gut, respiration, voluntary body movements, maintenance of posture, gait and facial expressions. The force of gravity exerts a constant acceleration of 9.81 m/sec^2 towards the center of the earth. While gravity is being exerted downward, a normal force is being exerted on the rider opposing gravity. This normal force acts perpendicular to the earth s surface, and for our purposes the trail a biker is riding. So for example, if a biker were on a flat surface, both gravity and the normal force would be acting upon the biker, but in opposing directions, thereby canceling each other out and can be ignored. Transnational corporations are large companies that have a head office in one country and subsidiary offices in other countries. They affect all countries; however, they affect developing countries on a much larger and damaging level. This is because developing countries are poorer, many people have a lower standard of living, and the resources available and the amount to hire an employee is significantly lower that one of a developed country. With symptoms including increased urination, thirst, and hunger, diabetes is mainly due to loss of insulin production in the pancreas or lack of response to insulin produced. As of 2015, nearly 415 million people worldwide have diabetes with the three main types being Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. 90% of all diabetes cases are Type 2 (T2D) which is characterized by insulin resistance, high blood sugar, and lack of insulin. These challenges put the ability of the current electric power grids at risks of being able to deliver efficient, reliable and clean power energy to meet the demand of the growing economies. The reliability of the existing electric power girds during peak load conditions is ensured mainly by having excessive power capacity in the whole system [1]. Excessive power capacity necessitates turning on peaker plants which are environmentally unfriendly and also expensive. Conversely, when the average demand is much lower than the peak load, then the need for energy storage becomes a necessity. A key solution to the energy storage and wastage problems is offered by renewable energy sources; however, their integration with the existing grids comes with a set of barriers such as the intermittency of generation and the high level of distribution of the sources and the lack of proven distribution control algorithms to manage such a highly distributed generation base [2]. In such situation, the use of communication and information technologies is attractive to match the demand to the available supply and dramatically improve performance and efficiency. In the earlier chapter, a detail explanation of CBPTT development was discussed including the flow, implementation, result and discussion of experiments conducted. This chapter concluded the research work on CBPTT with additional features that can be applied to CBPTT in the future. 5.2 Conclusion Since reliability issues have become one of the most concern issues in software development. However by conducting software testing, it does not ensure free defect failure software but it can increase the reliability of a software product. Although it is necessary to test the software thoroughly, it is impossible to have exhaustive testing. This is the reason interaction testing have been the most used testing. Especially pairwise testing which use two way interactions to find software defect. This had become the driven force for this research. The aim of this research was to develop pairwise testing tool, Constraints Based Pairwise Testing Tool (CBPTT), that can conduct pairwise testing with constraints supports. Constraints are list of limitations and impossible combinations that can present in a software system. CBPTT was developed to eliminate these constraints and further reduced the resulted test cases. Groups of people have come together and tried their hardest to make a difference in unresolved problems and issues. It is hard to make a difference as an individual trying to change something big, it becomes easier when you find people who have the same beliefs as you and will fight for it along your side. This is social change, and normally comes about through collective behavior and social movements. Social change is a significant change in behaviors and cultural values and norms. For example significant changes that have occurred in the past are the abolition of slavery, the changes put into action after 9/11, the feminist movement, and the industrial revolution. As I mentioned early social change occurs through both collective behavior and social movements. Collective behavior is a voluntary activity that many people take part in to change norms and values of the people around them. Collective behavior can be seen in many different ways. For example, there can be crowds, masses, panics, mobs, riots, fads, public opinion and fashion. An example of this would be when Cooper Tire in Findlay Ohio went on strike in order to get a new contract with better medical benefits. Spanish and English are two of the most spoken languages in the world, which have differences and similarities in writing. Despite that both languages use the same alphabet, Spanish has more difficult writing mechanics such as punctuation rule, noun s gender and quantity, and verb conjugation that make writing an essay more laborious. First, Spanish has a complicated punctuation rule because it uses diacritic acute (´) which can change meaning of words if you don t use it, for example, the words vino (wine in English) and vinó (past tense of the verb come in 3rd. person). In fact, if you don t use diacritic acute correctly, you show your bad education in writing. Another Spanish s punctuation rule is the use of double exclamation and question marks in the beginning and the end of sentences, for example, ¿Qué paso?, ¡Hola! My Operational Definition Of Social Justice My operational definition of social justice (the distribution of advantage and disadvantage within a society) is controversial to my social justice (LGBT Liberation) because they have a disadvantage in today s society. It s controversial because people today are afraid to come out because they re afraid of other people s reactions. Everyone in today s society depends on other people s opinions. On what s right or what s the norm . Many people feel this is a lifestyle choice not part of their make up. The Supreme Court ruling to allow same sex marriages is still not widely accepts. The pressure of trying to express who you are can add stress and the stereotypes by others can add an inability to have a career. The efforts of the LGBT are opening doors for people to be themselves. Standing up for the LGBT rights is a form of social justice. One of these advocate organizations is the National Youth Advocacy Coalition. Teenagers as well as adults are faced with these injustices. My idea of social justice is giving the LGBT the same rights as all other citizens and overcoming stereotypes. Some of the groups against this social justice are religious groups and their leaders and right wing political leaders (i.e. Tea Party). While many groups are outspoken against LGBT the biggest problem is still with individual opinions. Many people still are afraid of what they don t understand. The social justice issue I have chosen for my paper would be LGBT Liberation. I have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The aforementioned influences eventually lead to the field of evolutionary psychology in which the common view is that both physical and mental organs developed through natural selection. Biases in how our brains perceive, process, and react to the world around us can either contribute to our survival or to the reason we die out . Such biases affect our social behavior and status, sexual selection, and gender relations (Wright, 2010). Presently, evolutionary psychology has become an interest in popular culture which in turn influences the subject matter studied in this field. It provides plausible reasons for an array of human behaviors which sparks interest. People want to know why men have aggressive tendencies or why some will risk their lives to help those with no benefit to themselves. Survival of the fittest has become a commonly used phrase and Charles Darwin is no secret. Evolutionary psychology raises the idea that personality and behavior are mediated by evolutionary forces. This notion can have both positive and negative implications for society. It can provide a reason for why we love the people we love; but it can also provide an adaptive role for violent behavior. These ideas provide a rationale for our ability to think and reason. It makes us question our motives in certain situations like when we may act altruistically. • 51. National Literacy Crusade Of 1980 Essay The Sandinistas National Literacy Crusade of 1980 (CNA) significantly reduced the rate of illiteracy in Nicaragua from an estimated forty three percent to twelve percent. Improvements to the literacy rate were short lived. The instability of Nicaragua under the Sandinistas (1979 1990) effectively froze state sponsored education programs, minimizing the potential of educational efforts after the 1980 campaign. The weakened Sandinista government, as well as inadequate preparation of post CNA teachers, allowed the newly literate to lose their literacy. Although the campaign failed to permanently reduce illiteracy, it did serve as a catalyst for a new brand of Nicaraguan nationalism amongst young Nicaraguans who served as volunteer teachers. The campaign allowed women to transcend the traditional social and hierarchical boundaries of Nicaraguan society. Women assumed positions of authority as teachers, challenging the historically patriarchal norms of Nicaraguan culture. Introduction In July of 1979, after years of fighting the repressive Somoza regime, the Frente Sandinista de Liberacíon Nacional (FSLN) and their allies seized Managua and with it the seat of Nicaragua s government. The deposition of the Anastasio Somoza Debayle marked the end of a four decades long dynasty defined by cruelty and cronyism.
