was found that little impurities remained in the final reaction solution and according to the GC, no

that is able to characterize if specific compounds exist in a reaction mixture, even if they are in

components within the sample, and determine the purity of an isolated product. In the case of
this experiment, gas chromatography is used to analyze how pure the alkene reaction sample
was and if any remnants of impurities or 2 methyl 2 butanol remained in the sample after

evaluated the effect of zinc at postsynaptic 5 HT1AR in the PFC and Hp of rats after acute and
chronic zinc treatments. Neither acute nor chronic zinc treatment induced significant changes
in 5 HT1AR mRNA in the PFC or Hp (Fig. 1a, c). However, chronic zinc treatment increased
protein levels of 5 HT1AR in the Hp by 78% (t=3.137, df=14, p=0.007) relative to control rats (Fig.

Spoiling practices, changing fan/producer dynamics, and new media and consumerist engagement
with the show has produced a competitive fan culture unique in its apparent anti communal and
decidedly negative undercurrents. What I have described as the often conflictual and competitive
nature of this fan culture or rather the picture of a selected aggregation of fans makes sense if one
considers that these fans didn t originate in a traditionally marginalized subculture (as with earlier
conceptions of sci fi fans, for instance). The Survivor fandom is conflictual because the source of
fans interest isn t the show, but rather the overall fractious and competitive culture itself. Fandom
scholarship and research on the Survivor fandom in particular will require continual analysis of fan
participation and online engagement, as dynamics seem to shift somewhat over time. Scholarship,
too, will need to begin more thoroughly incorporating fans use of new media as I have only
conducted surface level analysis
