1. Erik Erikson Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Erik Erikson is no simple task, as it involves delving into the
intricate layers of this renowned psychologist's life, theories, and contributions to the field of
developmental psychology. Erikson's work spans across various stages of human development,
each with its unique challenges and conflicts, making it a complex topic to dissect and discuss
coherently.
To begin with, one must immerse oneself in the extensive literature on Erikson's psychosocial
theory, which encompasses eight stages of life. Each stage demands careful examination to
comprehend the nuances of the conflicts and resolutions that Erikson proposed. Additionally,
gaining insight into his background, personal experiences, and the socio-cultural context in which
he lived is crucial to understanding the roots of his theories.
Furthermore, tackling the essay requires an analytical approach to critically evaluate Erikson's
contributions in comparison to other psychological theories of development. This involves
synthesizing information, identifying key concepts, and presenting a well-structured argument
that showcases a deep understanding of Erikson's impact on the field.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to integrate real-life examples and case studies that
illustrate Erikson's theories in action. This demands not only a thorough comprehension of the
theoretical framework but also the ability to apply it to practical scenarios.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Erik Erikson involves navigating through a labyrinth of
psychological concepts, historical context, and real-world applications. It requires a balance
between theoretical depth and practical relevance, making it a task that demands dedication,
research prowess, and a keen analytical mind.
If the complexity of such essays overwhelms you, it's worth considering professional assistance.

2. Consequentialism And Value Hedonism
A fully developed human (the mother) has a stronger right to out rule the right of the
fetus which is not a full human being yet.
3.
When choosing an entirely different ethical theory then the Warren s, I am choosing
consequentialism. Consequentialism is a type of moral theory according to which
the consequences of actions are all that matter in determining the rightness and
wrongness of an action. Unitarianism is the most prominent form of
consequentialism. Utility , which refers to the net value of the consequences of
actions how much overall welfare or happiness would likely result from an action,
taking into account both short term and long term effects of the action on the
welfare of all who will be affected. The principle of utility states that actions or
behaviors are right in so far as they promote happiness or pleasure, wrong as they tend
to produce unhappiness or pain. Value hedonismis a theory that says only states of
pleasure have positive intrinsic value and only states of pain have intrinsic negative
value; anything else of value is of mere extrinsic value. When you combine the
principle of utility and value hedonism, we obtain hedonistic utilitarianism, which is
an action is right and only if it would produce at least as high a net balance of
pleasure as would any alternative action one might do instead. Hedonism claims that
maximizing happiness is a matter of pleasure or pain.

Difficulties of Coordinating a Response to a Disaster
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was created in 1979 from a
series of disasters, which occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. FEMA is a federal
agency that coordinates the response to a disaster in the United States. In 2005,
Hurricane Katrina made landfall affecting many citizens in New Orleans, activating
the response from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The common
obstacles that the federal system of government encounters with are communications
and funding.

Hurricane Pam was an exercise for responders and citizens that took place in the
summer of 2004, which helped prepare for a forecasted hurricane like Hurricane
Katrina. After twenty days, the administration cut FEMA s funding for the Pam
exercise before it was even completed. Therefore, planning for the response to
Hurricane Pam was not completed, causing many difficulties during the actual
hurricane in 2005. In addition to Hurricane Pam, Project Impact was set forth to
reduce the impact of natural disasters was also cut from its budget, causing
difficulties to respond to Hurricane Katrina. Projects that are being cut from funding
are affecting how responders and the federal government prepare for a natural disaster.
In conclusion, obstacles that are common in the federal system of government are
communications and funding. Due to the lack of communication and funding needed
to respond to the disaster, it was difficult for FEMA to coordinate the response to
Hurricane Katrina. There were many misunderstandings between the federal and state
causing the response for Hurricane Katrina to be delayed. Therefore, difficulties of

4. Analysis of Tchaikovsky s Swan Lake Essay
Tchaikovsky is one of the most popular of all composers. The reasons are several and
understandable. His music is extremely tuneful, opulently and colourfully scored, and
filled with emotional passion. Undoubtedly the emotional temperature of the music
reflected the composer s nature. He was afflicted by both repressed homosexuality
and by the tendency to extreme fluctuations between ecstasy and depression.
Tchaikovsky was neurotic and deeply sensitive, and his life was often painful, but
through the agony shone a genius that created some of the most beautiful of all
romantic melodies. With his rich gifts for melody and special flair for writing
memorable dance tunes, with his ready response to the atmosphere of a theatrical

The harp plays ascending scales whilst the oboe plays a minor legato melody. The
bass strings play pizzicato then the rest of the string section play tremolando and
Crescendo. The brass repeats the melody, accompanied by the orchestra and a string
tremolando inverted pedal. A string melody follows, accompanied by pizzicato
strings and brass. There is a series of suspensions in the brass with perfect cadences,
then an anticlimax with descending strings and brass. The main melody is repeated
again, syncopated, in augmentation then there is a diminuendo as melody strings
then French horn play melody.
2. Waltz
The introduction opens with a descending minor scale by pizzicato strings, followed
by three sforzandos in the orchestra. Section A begins with strings, woodwind and
brass playing a waltz rhythm, which modulates to major. The strings play melody 1,
which is then repeated with piccolo countermelody. Brass and string crescendo and
cymbal crash before strings play melody 2 which is dotted, and followed by
suspensions and an imperfect cadence. The suspensions are repeated with a perfect
5. Taking a Look at Team Connor s Organization
FINANCIAL SUMMARY
As per our analysis of TeamConnor s financials we explored that the organization has
been having difficulty in maintaining a positive net income throughout the past three
years. According to TeamConnors financials, we observe that there is a misfit
between their goals, stated in TeamConnors Goals for the Future, and their financial
capabilities. With the net negative income over the past three years, TeamConnor has
lacked in updating their goals to match with their current financial standards.
According to our projections, continuing at this pace with income decreasing and
expenses rising, we believe TeamConnor will be nearly $850 thousand in the
negative. The goals of awarding more grants with an annual increase of 46% through
the upcoming years will not be attainable with the current trend of income in the
organization. With constantly growing expense like salary, professional service
expenses, and event costs, summing up to nearly roughly 45% of total expenditures
at an estimated growth rate of 30%, expenses continues to exceed the revenues each
year. With a negative outlook in the coming years with unrealistic goals, the change
of strategic orientation is obvious and urgent.
PROPOSALS
As we carefully analyzed the current strategic orientation of TeamConnor organization
we came across some key issues that need to be addressed. According to the
information provided, we believe that currently the organization is having issues with

Pannebakker et al. (2007) research shows the W. pipientis influences programmed cell

analysis, genes regulated by SIgA were identified. Lastly, a statistical analysis was
performed to see the differences in IgA concentrations, colony forming unit, and gene
expression (Rogier et al., 2014). When a baby is first born, its immune system is

7. Finding the concentration of a Potato cell.
Aim
The aim is to find the concentration (mole/dm3 (M)) of solute in a potato cell by
using the process of osmosis and different concentrations of sucrose solution.
Background information
Osmosis is diffusion of water across a partially permeable membrane. It moves from a
solution with less solute concentration (high water potential) to a solution with more
solute concentration (low water potential). The one with a high water concentration
is called a hypotonic solution and the low water concentration is called hypertonic
solution, but these only depend on what type of concentration is on the other side of
the partially permeable membrane. When more water passes through to one side of
the membrane it is called net movement.

I think this because I know roughly that a potato has a solute concentration of more
than 0.3M. As the concentration goes above 0.6M I predict the potato cylinder
will loose mass because the potato is most likely to have a smaller concentration
than 0.6M. I know the concentration of a potato roughly but all the potatoes are
different so I have left a space in my concentration of a potato cell prediction as the
real result will vary between these values. My prediction is that the potato s solute
concentration will be somewhere in between 0.3M and 0.6M. This leads me to think
of the resulting graph to have a best fit line which has negative correlation and falls
as the concentration decreases. I know this because osmosis works in a way that water
molecules move from a low solute concentration to a high solute concentration.
Preliminary experiment
For this I was advised to use 5cm of peeled potato (a diameter of 1.2cm), distilled
water and 1M sucrose solution. I had to make two potato cylinders and leave one
in water and one in a 1M solution (each 30ml) for 15 minutes. I got the percentage
change by measuring the potato s length before and after the experiment. I did this
to give me a rough idea of what to expect from this experiment and to change any
variables to keep constant for my main experiment, like the time or the initial length. I
carried this out and got this result (on a graph):
This shows a very simple conclusion that the potato s

In the eyes of the American people, the War of 1812 was another fight for
independence from the British Empire, a negative influence on American politics and

Revolution, they gained independence from the British Empire and established
sovereignty over themselves. Americans hoped to prosper in their new country free
of negative European influence, especially British. However, within two decades
Britain began to impress American citizens once again in over 6,000 instances, which

Pregnant or nursing mothers of some bat species will consume up to their body
weight in insects each night. The millions of Mexican free tailed bats at BCI s
Bracken Cave in Central Texas eat tons of insects each summer night. A favorite
target in the United States and Mexico is an especially damaging pest called the corn
earworm moth (aka cotton bollworm, tomato fruitworm, etc.) that attacks a host of
commercial plants from artichokes to watermelons. Worldwide crop damage from
this moth is estimated at more than $1 billion a year, and research in 2006 concluded
that freetails save cotton farmers in south central Texas more than $740,000 annually.
Throughout the United States, scientists estimate, bats are worth more than $3.7
billion a year in reduced crop damage and pesticide use. That, of course, means fewer
pesticides enter the ecosystem (Important Batcon 1).
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service produced a brochure that was titled, Battle for
Bats: The WNS Tragedy . In this pamphlet, It states,
.....bats are primary predators of night flying insects including many crop and forest
pests. Bats in the U.S. eat thousands of tons of insects nightly. A recent study
concluded that losing bats could result in billions of dollars in increased pesticide
costs and agricultural damages each year! (Battle for Bats 1).

The parliamentary system is a system of democratic governance wherein the
executive and legislative branches of the government are intertwined and are lead
collectively by a Prime Minister who must have been proven to be competent and
capable, as chosen among his party members. However, the Philippines is currently
under the presidential system, also a system of democratic but republican governance,
which is led this time by a president, and wherein there is a separation of powers
between the executive and the legislative. In the presidential system, people have the
collective power to vote for the president. On one hand, the similarities between the
two systems can be summed up in one word: democracy. This entails the basic

Another is that Filipinos have a culture of apathy and tend to use religion
incorrectly and passively. People depend on religion and settle for what s okay. In
addition, the initial reaction of Filipinos to change is resistance, and this is why the
country does not necessarily progress, or at least, progress at a continuous rate. Then,
countries like Spain and Portugal only rode the economic tiger after they realized that
the only way to survive was change (3.Y). Plus, according to another critic, the
Philippines already had the experience of being under the parliamentary system
during the time of Marcos which only resulted in a People Power Revolution. So
why should the country bother going back to that? (4.Y) However, it was Marcos
who envisioned a New Society or a Bagong Lipunan that urged the poor and
privileged to work as one for the country s economic goals through self realization.

also created conflict with the other siblings and persuades them to go to Narnia.
Narnia is where the setting of the story is. Edmund is the second youngest but he

through the wardrobe with Lucy. He eventually gets lost. As he goes searching for
Lucy, he meets the White Witch. He does not know that she is the White Witch;
the most evil ruler of all. The White Witch came in her sled and with a nice look on
her face. The White Witch offered Edmund ham. Edmund at that time was very
hungry so he accepted. Again, not knowing that if you eat food from the White
Witch you will become memorized and under the White Witch s commands. He ate
the ham. The White Witch knows that Edmund is a Son of Adam so she asks
Edmund if he has any other siblings. Edmund replies three. The White Witch is
feeling great because all she needs to fulfill the prophecy is four Daughters of Eves

Being part of the extremely competitive and constantly evolving textiles, apparel
luxury goods industry requires us to constantly strive to be innovative. We must
frequently analyze the market, its trends, and all relevant information that can inform
us of opportunities and threats that apply to our industry (Textiles, Apparel Luxury
Goods). This is especially important for us now as we have lost the trust of many of
our customers and our financial health is currently ranked as negative by several
reviewers such as the S P Capital IQ Quantitative Stock Report. Lululemon s previous
leaders decision to compromise quality and the numerous public disagreements
surrounding how the company should be run have led to confusion among our
stakeholders and consumers. Recent management changes have caused a further loss
of trust amongst our customers. It is imperative that we better our financial health
and improve our customers perception of our company within the next year. To help
achieve both these objectives, our next big move should be to introduce a wearable
health technology product that our consumers can use to monitor their health and
track improvements in their fitness. Two factors are central to this proposal: (1) we
understand that the climate of our market and industry is extremely competitive and
it is vitally important for us to stand out by introducing an innovative and highly
desirable product and (2) there currently is a significant trend surrounding the use

While it is widely accepted that historical or descriptive narratives produce
knowledge, is the same true of fiction? Can fictional narratives such as novels
produce knowledge, and if so, what kind? Consider this question in relation to Ian
McEwan s novel Atonement.
It would be very difficult for anyone to find a person who stated that historical or
descriptive narratives did not produce knowledge. Can the same thing be said for the
genre of historical fiction? In an analysis between historical narratives and historical
fiction, we will see what do these two topics share, and what kinds of knowledge
does historical fiction produce. What is it about historical narratives that give
readers a sense that going into it, that they will become knowledgeable about a
certain topic? What is considered knowledge in a historical narrative? I would say
what a makes a historical narrative is that it contains facts such as dates, accounts of
events, and information about the lives of people. These types of things can be
measured through various forms of tests. (we know how much emphasis is put on
what a person can recall). As a result, a reader may say that historical narratives are
much more objective. Also, the writers of these historical novels are able to make
connections to the modern day with the readers. But aside from the obvious

points add three distinctive sections, creating a musical sandwich within his color
performance. Traditionally, a

When your mind is in the delta frequency, you have increased immune function as
well as put out chemicals that have a deep renewing benefit to your body.
But the delta brainwave state of mind is only achieved when we are in deep,
restful sleep. So, if you have pain, which leads to insomnia, which leads to decreased
sleep, which leads to less delta time for the brain, you are in a downward spiral.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Find a good brainwave entrainment audio that puts your brain down into at least
2.5 Hz for 20 30 minutes.
2. Set aside 30 45 minutes a day to listen to a brainwave meditation audio that puts
you into the delta frequency. The best time to listen to it would be as you go to sleep
at night.
3. Give yourself time to reap the benefits of this pain management technique. Your
body has its own rhythm for healing, so give yourself time to develop your body s
reserves to renew itself and feel good again.
SUMMARY: Meditation for pain relief has been scientifically proven to work.
Using a brainwave entrainment meditation to put your brain into the appropriate
brain frequency to achieve these results gives you one of the best types of
meditation to use to get started right away and to keep going because you can

operationalization and measurement of variables, target population, sampling design,
data collection instruments, data collection procedure and data analysis and
presentation. The operational methodology that was used in this study was the before
and after basis where data was collected on firms before using venture capital and
after using venture capital. (Bueselinck Margnat, 2003) argue that there is no gold
standard in impact measurement.
3.2 Research design
(Borg Gall, 1983) defined research design as a detailed plan on how a research
study will be conducted. It is a plan according to which data is collected to
investigate the research hypothesis or question in an economical manner. According
to Gall et al (2003) a research design is a plan for collecting and utilizing data so as
to obtain the desired information with sufficient precision or so that a hypothesis can
be tested properly. It is a framework that guides the collection and analysis of data.
A descriptive research design was adopted for this research. According to (Cooper
Schindler, 2003), a descriptive study is concerned with finding out the what, where
and how of a phenomenon. (Saunder et al, 2003) further assert that descriptive
research is used principally to gain a deeper understanding of something. The
descriptive research collects data in order to answer questions
21. Taking a Look at Environmental Racism
Did you know that 35 out of 57 waste sites in the eastern part of Los Angeles were
located in zip codes with at least half the population consisting of Latinos? (Pulido
21) This is a direct and apparent representation of environmental racism in our
country. In particular, its existence could be closely observed in the recent dispute of
an urban farmland in South Central Los Angeles. Frankly, environmental racismhad
little effect on the actual dissolution of the South Central farm, as it was an issue of
property rights. Instead, environmental racism played a significant role in the
confrontation process that led to the closure by excluding minority groups, especially
Latinos, from decision processes and obstructing their effort to conserve the farmland.
Twenty five years ago, the city of Los Angeles obtained the South Central farmland
under eminent domain with the intention of building a waste incinerator. While this
project failed to proceed, 400 community members were given the permission to farm
the land. It provided a lot of support to the community, which is inhabited mostly by
low income minorities. While aiding the farmers themselves, it also brought
monetary and psychological benefits to the neighborhood. Suing the city for not
utilizing the land as a public good, Ralph Horowitz, the original owner, successfully
recouped the property in 2006, which threatened the existence of the garden. Farmers
were forcefully moved out of the property and the South Central Farm
22. Similarities Between Roman Catholicism And Eastern
Orthodoxy
Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy The Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman
Catholicism are organized using a hierarchical system. Much like the ancient times
in which these religions were established, they govern from the top down with
bishops or leaders having ultimate authority and then several classifications that
extend down to priest. They feel their top leaders stand in for Christ. For Eastern
Othodoxy the leader is Eccumencial Patriarch and for the Roman Catholics it is the
Pope. (VB: Polity in Catholicism and Orthodoxy) The formal principles for these
two religions are the Bible plus tradition and decress. However, Eastern Orthodoxy
uses the 66 books of the Canon and Apocrypha and the Roman Catholicism use the
66 books of the Cannon and Canonical. To them the Bible and the tradition of
worship are equally important. The material principles for these religions are that
they are saved by faith with works infused grace through the priests on the via to earn
God s glory. (The Christian Church on Earth) The worship of the Roman Catholics
and Eastern Orthodoxy are both highly liturgical and ornate with icons. They have a
low use of preaching in their worship services. The teachings for these two religions
include infant baptism for the remission of original sin and the gift of faith. The
Roman Catholics teach the Lord s Supper is the sacrament through Transubstantiation
but they view the Lord s Supper as unbloody sacrifice through Transubstantiation.
They both teach
23. Mental Health Issues In Criminal Justice Essay
In the realm of prosecuting violent crime, a dichotomy of belief exists surrounding
mental health. We can choose to believe that not all violent criminals suffer from a
mental health disorder. The alternative is to believe that the perpetrators of these
violent crimes by nature are mentally ill; this assumption, however, undermines an
entire criminal justicesystem which places treating mental health as a far lesser
subordinate to removing criminals from society. It s clear that the criminal justice
system in the United States doesn t favor the latter. While the threshold for diagnosis
of some mental illness is relatively low, legally the bar for exemptions of
incompetence or mental retardation require an extreme level of debilitation
(Wallace). This legal standard cultivates an expectation that criminals are no more
complex than the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In discussing culpability, Laurence Steinberg s journal Adolescent Development and
Juvenile Justice notes that a person who causes criminal harm is a fully responsible
moral agent (and deserves full punishment) if, in choosing to engage in the wrongful
conduct, he has the capacity to make a rational decision and a fair opportunity to
choose not to engage in the harmful conduct (472). The problem is that in any
seriously violent case, mental disorders obstruct fair opportunity. Elaine Whitfield
Sharp, a defense attorney in Massachusetts, discusses this further in a 2010 article
from The Atlantic. Most criminals I deal with are very narcissistic, she explains,
they re blame shifters, manipulative, and can t feel anyone else s pain but their own
a hallmark lack of empathy which spans across all cases of violent crime. Each of the
traits Whitfield Sharp goes on to describe fall easily within the spectrum of mental
illness or, as she bluntly states, it s a

My paintings are a reflection of my personal experiences and my imagination. My
aim to paint is not just to master the technique but to feel and connect with the subject.
By balancing the art of memory and personal experience, I create works that
narrate a story. I believe my works are just like novels. Each painting is a different
chapter from my life. These visual compositions may not be the exact representation
of the particular event but they do symbolize the incident. I create with daily,
recognizable elements, a situation in which the viewer is also a part of the work and
he is confronted with the conditioning of his own perception and has to reconsider his
biased position.

Labour...
CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Capital Punishment was abolished under Harold Wilson s Labour government in
1969 (Manton.K, 2011, P.16) in the United Kingdom, but there have been continuing
debates concerning the reinstatement of the death penalty in the UK.(BBC NEWS,
2011) reports that the conservative party MP calls for submission on capital
punishment in the UK. The Brigg and Goole MP is one of a number of Tory
backbenchers calling for a commons debate of the return of capital punishment.
(BBC NEWS, 5th August 2011) Currently, Paul Staines, who writes the Guido
Fawkes calls for the death to be brought back for child and police officer murderers,
he carried out a public opinion poll, which recommends that around half the
population want capital punishment to be reinstated for murders this rises to 60%
when it comes to child or police officer kills , furthermore his e petition on the
government website needs 100,000 people to support it so that there could possibly
be a preliminary debate on the issue (BBC NEWS, 4th August 2011). As Mr. Staines
statistics poll shows, in 2011 that there is a high percent of the public that requests
capital punishment to be reinstated in the UK for serious crimes such as; murder,
child murder and police officer kills.
This study aims to examine the public s opinion of reintroducing capital punishments.

26. The Poetry of Walt Whitman Essay
Walt Whitman is considered by many to be one of the greatest poets of the
nineteenth century. Whitman grew up in New York and was a member of a large
family, having eight siblings. Only four of these siblings lived to adulthood. His
father was an alcoholic, which led to Whitman becoming more like a father figure
than a brother to his siblings. Whitman quit school at the age of eleven. He then
worked as a journalist, as a carpenter, as a teacher, and as an editor before focusing
on poetry. Whitman is most well known for his book of poems, Leaves of Grass.
Whitman could not find a publisher interested in his poems; therefore, he published
them himself. Whitman rereleased this collection of poems several times, each time

Whitman deplored slavery and was even fired from his job as an editor for his
outspoken views on the subject. Whitman saw Lincoln as someone who wanted to
put an end to slavery and as someone who would put his words into action.
Whitman took a great interest in The Civil War. His brother served in the war and
Whitman volunteered as a nurse at an army hospital in Washington, D.C., where he
dressed the wounds of injured soldiers, as well as read to them, and wrote letters
for them to their families. Whitman gave lectures on President Lincoln almost up
until his own death. Whitman was greatly disturbed by the assassination of
President Lincoln and wrote these poems as a tribute to him. The most popular and
the most analyzed of these poems is When Lilacs Last in the DoorYard Bloom d.
Laurie Lanzen writes, this is a poem whose rich and sacred beauty and rapture of
tender religious passion leave it unique and solitary in literature, and will make it the
chosen and immortal hymn of death forever (Lanzen, 544 ). Even though Whitman
never mentions President Lincoln by name in the poem, according to
whitmanarchive.org, this poem was published in the fourth edition of Leaves of
Grass in 1867 under the heading President Lincoln s Burial Hymn
(whitmanarchive.org). This has come to be considered as one of the best poems ever
written by Whitman. When Lilacs Last in the

Old testament reflection
This Old Testament coarse has given me new insight on the origins of the Christian
faith. It has given further explanation on stories I only knew vaguely of. I have a
clearer view on the stories of the Old Testament. From god flooding the world to the
adversity of the Hebrew people. The Old Testamentcoarse has given me new insight
on the way I see the Christian faith. In the Old Testament there are many occurrences
when god does the bizarre to get his point across. For instance, The flood that
obliterated all life from earth except for one family: Behold, I am bringing the flood
of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under

And Rahab was saved and accepted by the Israelites why couldn t the other women
and children change and accept god also? I know we don t have all the answers
but its difficult to comprehend god takes harsh actions sometimes. The story of
the Hebrew people is pretty amazing they fail over and over again to fulfill god s
wishes but even though they fail got protects them and keeps his promise. The
study of the Hebrew people in Old Testament clearly reveals that God has a special
place for the people. One verse from Paul from the New Testament now that I have
read and studied the old testament is more clear on describing the blessing of the
Hebrew people by god and why they are so important , Theirs is the adoption as
sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple
worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the
human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen (rom 9:4:5).
The summary explains the promises and events that were given to the Jews by god.
The Jews were unique people who were created by God to be the waterway of divine
revelation to the world. From them would come the prophets, the writers of the Old

28. Vulnerability to Internet Predators
Vulnerability to Internet Predator
The publicity about online predators that prey on naive and inexperienced young
children using trickery and violence is largely inaccurate. Internet sex crimes
involving adults and juveniles more often fit a model of statutory rape which is adult
offenders who meet, develop relationships with, and openly seduce underage
teenagers than a model of forcible sexual assault or pedophilic child molesting
(Wolak et. al., 2008). However, prepubescent children are even less vulnerable
because their internet use is generally more supervised by the parents and guardian.
In addition, they use the internet less for communication and are for developmental
reasons, less interested in sex and relationships than ... Show more content on

Children who do not have a lot of activities outside of school tend to be online
longer and at the same times of day compared to those children who have lots of
activities because predators have little chance to groom a child for future
exploitation if that child is rarely online or is online at various times of the day.
These children would be the easiest target for the predators because they
unconsciously open the space and opportunity to be attacked by predators.
Furthermore, the children who have instant message accounts are easy target to
predators because the predators know that while emails are saved automatically and
have to be manually deleted, instant messages tend to evaporate into the ether once
the instant message window is closed. Usually, the children with tendency to speak to
strangers are likely to become the predator victims. Lonely, sheltered and naГЇve
children would become the target because predators seek to develop a relationship
with their targets, often posing as children or teenagers themselves, and then use that
relationship to initiate sexual discussion and activity or lure the child into an offline
meeting. Children from a single parent family, having trouble at school or with the
law, or has been experimenting with drugs, alcohol or sexual activity would also
become the targeted victims of online predator.
In addition, nowadays it become commonly for the internet users including the
children to post
30. A Sense Of Autonomy And Self Control Essay
Familial relationships play a vital role in the lives of individuals. Humans form and
foster relationships early on in development. Within the first years of life, infants
rely on their primary caretakers in order to meet their physical, emotional, social,
and psychological needs. As children grow older, they learn to meet their own needs
by means of self regulation. This means to self regulate is fostered through the
attachment cycle, a foundation for relationships that creates and provides a way to
adjust and adapt to future experiences, building a sense of autonomy and self efficacy
within the child. Today, many children face parental divorce, and their family
dynamic and attachment cycle are altered. Divorce disrupts daily lives and often
traumatizes children, affecting their self perception and concepts of regular behavior.
The stress and frustration endured by parents if often carried over to the children.
The stress associated with divorce impacts the lives of children and puts them at risk
for emotional, physical, academic, and psychological problems.

Essay about Time and Distance Overcome
A miracle. That is how Eula Bliss felt about the invention of the telephone. Perhaps
because it is a miracle. Worldwide communication. Suddenly everyone is only a
phone call away and we are all connected. The invention of the telephone was a gold
shining idea, an idea that only had one purpose: to connect people the invention did
connect people, but it also did so much more than that. Something that will be
overshadowing the invention forever.

American non fiction writer. The essay follows significant themes such as the

In the beginning of the essay, the author is writing about the invention of the
telephone in 1876. Throughout the essay, the author is writing about the invention
of the telephone, the War on Telephone Poles and racism including lynching. All
the information that we as the readers are being given is completely based on
facts. Something that is strengthening the use of logos is that the author seems to
be objective. Notwithstanding, of the fact that the author seems to be objective,
you are able to argue that the author s beliefs are hidden between the lines. Another
significant form of appeal that is being used in the essay is pathos. The essay is
filled with pathos not necessarily directly, but indirectly. When the author is
listing all the repulsive actions and events that happened due to the invention of
the telephone, it is not necessarily just to give the readers a bunch of facts. It is
more likely being used to make the readers understand the misery that mainly the
black people went through. The use of pathos is probably also a way to make
people remember the essay it is easy to say: a lot of terrible things happened when
and after the telephone was invented , but when you write it down on paper and you
use specific events, it tends to get more under your skin (you feel sorry), which
means that you presumably will not forget the essay right away. It does not seem like
the author is using ethos because she does
32. Beethoven s Fidelio Overture
Next, Beethoven s Fidelio (1814) is the final overture that Beethoven wrote and is
meant to use in the opera. This overture is about 6 to 9 minutes long. The
instrumentation calls for an orchestra consisting of two flutes, two oboes, two
clarinets, two bassoons, four horns, two trumpets, two trombones, timpani, and
strings. (Huscher par. 1). This overture is the shortest overture as Beethoven cut
down the length so it can be used in the beginning of the opera and nowhere else.
From the start of the overture, it is much more joyful and lighter than what
experienced before in Leonora No.3 (1806). The heavier sections balance well with
the lighter notes and doesn t overpower the piece. Beethoven copied parts of Mozart
s style in this overture.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

34. A Research Study On The Stress Hormone And Cortisol
Levels
Well conducted research is essential to the advancement of knowledge. Through poor
research design, incorrect statistical analysis or inappropriate conclusions,
experimenters can conduct virtually useless studies, or worse, call into question the
integrity of researchers. However, analysis of poorly conducted research is essential
to the improvement of the scientific method. Presented shall firstly be a literature
review regarding a growing contemporary body of literature, premised on the
association between stressors, management strategies and cortisollevels. Additionally,
a replication study examining powerful poses and cortisol levels shall be analysed
and critically and constructively evaluated.
Cortisol commonly known as the stress hormone is a steroid hormone regulated by
the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis, an interaction of endocrine glands thought to
be crucial in adapting to behavioural and environmental changes. Cortisol effects
many functions within the body, including control of blood sugar levels, regulating
the metabolism, reducing inflammation and assisting in immune responses (Randall,
2010; Shu Fen et al. 2015). The main function of cortisol is to restore homeostasis to
the body following stress, and it is the primary hormone responsible for the stress
response. Fluctuation of cortisol levels throughout the day is normal for humans,
however, sustained high levels of cortisol can have adverse effects. These can include
serious health implications

I perceived that the song is not giving any wrong message; rather it is trying to

portrays that the mental condition of children becomes worse when they find
themselves isolated and when they realize that they are not loved by anybody.
Therefore, they fall prey into bad companies and bad habits. Negativity allures
them much more than the other positive things of society. Then they are no more

Atheists...propose the idea that God is not necessary for life or morals, and the
answer to mankind s existence is found only in nature itself (Weider Gutierrez. 2011,
p56). They believe that the entire universe as well as life is simply by coincidence

humankind; also known as Darwin s theory.

Man decides for himself what is right and wrong, and is given the will to change his
mind at any point. This goes hand in hand with the whole humanist belief and that

5. The Question of Destiny Humanist s believe that this world and this life is all we
have. Once this machine (the body) breaks down and dies, death is the final and there
is nothing more beyond that. Once the body starts decomposing, all that remains or
they suggests lives on, is the impact they left on loved ones and through their culture
(Weider Gutierrez, 2011, p64).
II. Part One: Secular Humanism vs. Christian Worldview
1. The Question of Origin In contrast to the humanist s worldview that everything
happened by chance, Christians believe that from the beginning, everything that
exists, including humans was the result of God. Now Christians do believe in
micro evolution, also known as adaption, where an animal can endure some
changes to help itself adapt to a different condition, but will never form into a
different species. There is still no scientific evidence that can prove otherwise. God
made sure of this when he was creating all living things that he kept all species
according to its kind (Genesis 1:21 25).

Sigmund Freud s primary version of psychoanalytical theory presented in the late 19th
century is one that has withstood the tests of time; with just a few exceptions. Freud s
psychoanalytical theory which is comprised of many of Freud s very unique and
great theories like the tripartite mind, psychosexual developmental stages, and
defense mechanisms gave insight into the inner workings of the mind that until then
had not yet been discovered nor explored. After all, psychoanalysis centers on
exposing the human unconscious by viewing human behavior through a deterministic
lens, meaning that the mind is governed by the unconscious, instinctual drives, and
other forces.
Some of his theories such as his concept on the existence and meaning of
psychosexual developmental stages fall under being deterministic; this is because
Freud was a strong believer in psychic determinism, which is a type of determinism
that theorizes that all mental processes are determined by the unconscious or
preexisting mental complexes. There lies one of Freud s greatest weaknesses in my
opinion, as over time the popularity for determinism has shifted to humanism,

Dr. Martha Bernal focused not only on younger children, but students ages 18 and up
who were looking at potential colleges. She conducted a study to show that the
pictures and information provided in school packet materials mailed to prospective
students had a large impact on the likelihood of them contacting the school for more
information. The article titled Use of Application Materials for Recruitment of Ethnic
MinorityStudents in Psychologyquestioned on page 818 whether these packets are
equally effective in recruiting ethnic minority applicants (Bernal, Barron Leary, 1983)
as they are in attracting white applicants. The hypothesis explored the idea that
programs which stated a higher proportion of ethnic minority grad students would be
judged as having a higher chance of recruiting ethnic minorities. Specifically, Dr.
Martha Bernal explored how clinical psychology programs in the United States
displayed diversity within the packets mailed out to prospective students.
The set up involved mailing out a letter to 107 programs offered across the US which
were accredited at the time, in which a fictitious student requested brochures and
other materials about the clinical program offered, as well as materials on the number
of minorities within the program itself. Interestingly, the fictitious girl named Ana

Deactivation of Prions in the Healthcare Setting Prions are infectious agents
composed entirely of a protein material which is transmissible to other prion

priondiseases are untreatable and fatal.
. Prions, however, are infectious by their effect on normal versions of the protein.

Chemical disinfectants and common thermal or ionizing treatments do not effectively
denature the prion particles. Traditional means of instrument decontamination is not
practical for prion infected utensils. The recommended prion decontamination
protocols for reusable surgical instruments and surfaces recommended by The World
Health Organization and The Center for Disease Control and Prevention have been
published and are readily available on CDC s website (http://www.cdc.gov/prions/cjd

The three most stringent sterilization methods for heat resistant instruments described
in Annex III of the WHO guidelines are listed below; the methods are listed in order
of more to less severe treatments. Sodium hypochlorite may be corrosive to some
instruments, such as gold plated instruments. Before instruments are immersed in
sodium hypochlorite, the instrument manufacturer should be consulted about the
instrument s tolerance of exposure to sodium hypochlorite. Instruments should be
decontaminated by a combination of the chemical and recommended autoclaving
methods before subjecting them to cleaning in a washer cycle and routine sterilization.

43. Who Left A Huge Artistic Impact On Me
A recent live performance I saw that left a huge artistic impact on me was
Nederlands Dans Theatre s Woke Up Blind at Fall for Dance on Friday, October
7th. The piece was a fifteen minute new work, choreographed by Marco Goecke
and set on seven of the first company s members. The first premiere of the piece
took place in The Hague, The Nederlands on February 4th 2016, but the Fall for
Danceperformance at the New York City Centre was their United States premiere.
The lighting of the piece was of a darker scheme, using a lot of blue and black light.
There were often soft spotlights on certain dancers, but the stage was rarely lit as a
whole. The dancers wore either black or red pants. The men danced shirtless, and
the women wore nude coloured leotards to give the same allusion as having a bare
torso. The simplicity of the costume worked well with the simplicity of the lighting.
It allowed for the performance s focus to be about the dancing as opposed to external
affectations. The piece was choreographed to two lovesongs, You and I by Jeff
Buckley and The Way Young Lovers Do by Van Morrison. The music created an erie
mood, accompanied by a sense of longing. The contemporary movement quality of
the choreography, along with the execution of the dancers, represented those two
descriptions perfectly. There was a definite story carried through the piece, as the
dancers portrayed what it is like to be in love. While being in love, one experiences
feelings of happiness and
44. What Caused The American Revolution Essay
Causes of the American Revolution As the British s intentions to colonize the world
grew, they quickly set their eyes on the Eastern coastline of North America. After
decades of struggling to maintain stable colonies, the British Empire had finally
established a large presence along the Eastern coast of North America. At first, many
colonists perceived themselves as English, but due to many factors, the idea of
independence and self reliance developed. But as the British began to impose laws
and taxes that denied colonists of those views, many sought a change in the
relationship between the British and colonists. As colonists realized that change was
no longer possible, the idea of independence began to develop. What really sparked
the American Revolutionwas the parliamentary enforcement of taxes onto the
colonies without proper representation, the obstruction of civil liberties that lead
colonists away from British rule, English military measures that influenced settlers to
feel that they were being controlled, and furthermore, the conviction that rebellion is
supported which consequentially pushed settlers towards disobedience. An
influential factor in the causes of the American Revolution was the lack of
representation in parliament, who heavily taxed the colonists without any say from
the colonies. This was a major problem after the French and Indian War ended.
England had accrued a large debt, and to pay it off, taxed the colonists. George
Grenville, the head of

about 19m of the cantilever can be erected during the football season. This share of
the roof was erected in modules containing a rafter, the backup mast, the 14m long

new rooftop level and 37m overhead ground level. It is formed with 457mm diameter
CHS sections, while the linking forestays and backstays are all 406mm diameter CHS

Directly after the last home match of the season, the current roof and columns were
removed which then allowed the front share of the new roof, along with the
connecting 34m long front forestay, to be erected.

I think Vincent Tan, Malaysian co owner of Cardiff City FC did good thing to set a
plan, extending the capacity of the stadium and by upgrading the training facilities to
premier league standards and spending ВЈ12 m to upgrade the stadium capacity. The
hospitality areas are finished and in the four level is going to be fitted out initially
as a slight upgrade of your usual concourse area, in between what can be found in
the current Grandstand on Level two and Level four. The long term plan for Level
four of the Ninian Stand will be to house a top quality restaurant facility with the two
wings either side of the central concourse providing

The Federal Reserve has no significance in the U.S. economy
Introduction
In the event that the American individuals really saw how the Federal Reserve
framework functions and what it has done to us, they would be shouting for it to
be nullified promptly. It is a framework that was composed by global brokers for
the advantage of worldwide investors, and it is methodically devastating the
American individuals. The Federal Reserve framework is the essential motivation
behind why the cash has declined in worth by well more than 95 percent and the
national obligation has become more than 5000 times bigger in the course of recent
years. The Fed makes the blasts and the busts , and they ... Show more content on

On the off chance that the public does not trust this, simply go out in the city and
ask general individuals where cash originates from. This is the reason it is so
critical to get individuals taught. Imagine that most Americans would be sickened
to discover that the making of more cash in the framework additionally includes
the production of more obligation. At the point when the U.S. government
concludes that it needs to spend another billion dollars that it doesn t have, it doesn
t print up a billion dollars. Or maybe, the U.S. government makes a pack of U.S.
Treasury bonds (obligation) and takes them over to the Federal Reserve. The
Federal Reserve makes a billion dollars out of nowhere and trades them for the U.S.
Treasury bonds. The U.S. Treasury securities that the Federal Reserve gets in return
for the cash it has made out of nothing are sold through the Federal Reserve
framework. Be that as it may, hold up, there is an issue. Since the U.S. government
must pay enthusiasm on the Treasury securities, the measure of obligation that has
been made by this exchange is more noteworthy than the measure of cash that has
been made (Adrian and Shin
48. Impromptu Research Paper
Have you ever been tapped to make an impromptu group presentation with a half hour
s notice?
When is the last time someone asked you for a brief update on the status of an
upcoming project in about an hour ?
Did you ever stand up in the heat of a membership meeting where negativity
prevailed and asked members to consider a more positive stance on an issue?
These scenarios require you to think on your feet give an impromptu speech if you do
not want to embarrass yourself, and want to demonstrate your knowledge and mental
organization.
A well prepared presentation is possible at the last minute. Be the envy of your
organization and become the go to person with the strong communication skills by
taking initiative and being willing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You can apply the same mantra to impromptu presentations. Sear the basic structure
of a presentation into your memory and volunteer to give speeches on the spot. The
more you practice giving impromptu presentations, the more comfortable you
become doing so. Just as people trained to respond to emergencies at a moment s
notice, you will be able to respond with a solid presentation at a moment s notice.
Consider the following key points as well as how to best communicate the content
that is necessary for the requested presentation.
Please With Threes
A lesson I teach early in my presentation skills workshops, and that I learned in school
and in Toastmasters clubs, is to please with threes . Otherwise called the rule of
threes, this means that you create a presentation using a speech structure that consists
of three main components: an opening, a body, and a closing. Manage these three
major parts of a presentation and your speech will be organized every time.
Get Off on the Right Foot
Develop an attention grabbing opening. On short notice, few people expect you to be
witty or humorous. Typically, last minute presenters are expected to address a
specific issue or concern. Implement the following techniques, however, and you just
might come across as witty and instantly engaging in spite of your last minute
49. The Wizard Of Oz Literary Analysis
The Value of Literature:
The epic journey to find the promised land in The Wizard of Oz
Every character in The Wizard of Oz has a reason for going to Emerald city, each
have the same reason but are all in search of something different. Their reasoning for
going to the promise land, Emerald city, is to find the Great Wizard, Oz. Although
they are all on a journey for Emerald city and Oz, what they are in search of is very
different as is each character. Through Archetypal Theory it is shown that each
character s reason for setting out on the journey to Emerald city distinguishes their
type of character. Their journey is to find the promised land. Although they are not
aware, the characters slowly gain what they originally set out to acquire throughout
their journey, rather than at their destination. Although the journey seems as easy as
following the yellow brick road, there are many obstacles the characters; the
Scarecrow, Tin Woodmanand the Cowardly Lion, must face throughout this novel.
Through stages along their journey, the characters are all thrown into pivotal
positions that they do not realize the importance of. In turn, this results in a drastic
development of their characteristics. In these stages they are put in situations, which
allows them to grow and adapt to what they are seeking on their journey, are what
allows them to earn what they were seeking. Each character is in search for Oz so
he may grant them one wish for whatever they desire, for the Scarecrow;

There are many famous people that are in US history. Abraham Lincoln; never told
a lie. George Washington; our first president. Martin Luther King Jr.; fought against
racism. Rosa Parks; took a stand for her race. Andrew Jackson; one of the most
popular presidents who was democratic. Andrew Jackson s democratic views are
shown in what decisions he made as the president. Andrew Jacksongrew up in very
sad conditions. Soon after he turned 13 he was drafted into the Revolutionary War
and as he got older became a general and became a national war hero. Jackson soon
got more popular and Americans loved him, so in 1828 he ran under the new
party, Democratic, and was elected president. Then as a result of his popularity,
got re elected in 1832. Andrew Jackson was a democratic president because he
promoted democracy, revoked the Second National Bank, and he listen to the
people on the Indian Removal Act. First, Andrew Jackson was a democratic
president because he encouraged democracy. During the election of 1828, Jackson
came off as a common man and a lot of the Americans felt as if he would make the
US more democratic by having less power given to the government and more
power given to the people. The people felt that he would make the commoners feel
equal to the wealthier people (document 2). Evidently, Jackson was a democratic
president, for he gave more power to the people and less to the rich and thriving. He
opened a whole new door of opportunity for common men. He said
51. Allusions In Paradise Lost
The epic poem Paradise Lost is a story about the fall of Lucifer and a war between
him and noble God. The author uses allusions all throughout Paradise Lost including
divine references. Many of his allusions refer to the religious material of Adam and
eve, when they were analyzing their sins and the reasons why the humans lost their
Paradise . The author also uses many literary terms that shows sense of knowledge
and understanding. First, Milton the author of the story uses countless allusions
toward the bible. He begins the story analyzing a man s first sin, with Adam and eve
and the forbidden fruit. Of a Man s first disobedience, and the fruit of the forbidden
tree, whose mortal taste brought death into the world and all our woe (Milton). He
discusses how both Adam and eve went up against god by deciding to eat the
forbidden fruit which caused destruction and conflict in the world. He also explains

heaven. When Milton describes the center he is describing the earth, which is an

52. Reacting To An Unfair Government In Henry David
Thoreau s...
Reacting to an Unfair Government Without a job, without a source of income,
without a way to provide oneself with the necessities, how would one survive in life?
It is stated in Henry David Thoreau s essay, Resistance to Civil Government, that the
reaction to an unfair government is to remove oneself from office if the government
violates the moral human law and rebel/revolutionize against the government. This
is clear in the following quote, All machines have their friction; ...But when the
friction comes to have its machine, and oppression and robbery are organized, I
say, let us not have such a machine any longer. In other words, when ...a nation
which has undertaken to be the refuge of liberty are slaves, and a whole country is
unjustly overrun and conquered by a foreign army, ..., I think that it is not too soon
for honest men to rebel and revolutionize. However, rebelling could result in losing a
government position which is leaving an occupation and that leads to serious
consequences for the person involved. This thought stemmed from Thoreau after he
was jailed for not paying taxes to the state. Thoreau did not support the Mexican
American war and disliked the fact that the government supported slavery. Since he
broke the law, he was forced to stay overnight in jail. Thoreau believed if the law
violated the human conscience, then one should follow his conscience over the law.
Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men
