Editor's Notes

  • #2 Welcome Today, we will discuss how you can keep pace with the increase in mobile devices, and cloud applications in the branch We’ll specifically discuss how mobility is driving both complexity and new opportunities in your business And how your branch infrastructure strategy must evolve to drive to better business outcomes that result in lower costs, greater productivity, and higher customer engagement … all with operational simplicity.
  • #3 However, the success measures of a business remain unchanged. Customer loyalty leading to increased revenues and lower customer attrition are still an important success measure of the top line growth. Superior customer service at all branches and stores will lead to higher customer satisfaction, repeat customers and thus increased same store/branch sales Reduced costs are still an important measure of success of bottom line in the midst of all these disruptions Higher productivity: higher employee productivity measured as either revenue per employee, faster turnaround time or by other means is an important success measure to stay competitive Clearly, businesses need to rethink their approach to doing business in the presence of these disruptions. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is not going to happen. Organizations need expanded business capabilities to be successful now. Let us walk through a few capabilities in different industries.

  • #8 In the current model, customers select a la carte, separately priced software features to build a solution. In some cases, the solution results in selecting 100’s of individual products and SKUs. In the current model, software is tied to the hardware. That means software is tied to hardware. And software is purchased again at the time of hardware refresh,. In the current model, customers were primarily buying infrastructure software as perpetual licenses for the lifetime of the box, tied to CAPX options only Cisco ONE completely redefines how infrastructure software in bought, deployed and managed in industry… Cisco ONE’s objective is to enable IT to deliver more business value. therefore, it simplifies the software purchase to software suites across Access, WAN, Data Center. Rather than 100’s of SKUs, customers will choose one or more suites. Cisco ONE software is not tied to a box and is portable across generations of hardware boxes. Also gives you physical and virtual deployment options. Cisco ONE also enables IT to keep innovating by giving them access to software upgrades and new capabilities that will be added to the software suites Cisco ONE transforms that buying experience by adding subscription and Enterprise Licensing Agreement to perpetual licenses for the software suites. This provides flexibility and financial predictability to customers
  • #9 This chart provides more detail into the individual Cisco ONE Software products: Data Center, WAN, and Access.
  • #10 Better Together Pricing   Cisco® ONE Software helps customers purchase the right software capabilities to address their business needs. These products offer a greater value to customers with more features at “better together” pricing. They deliver reduced complexity, simplified buying, and the peace of mind that today’s software investments will last into the future. Access to ongoing innovation means that as we add more features into these software products, customers gain access to those upgrades in the suites they have licensed.    For instance, Cisco acquired JouleX last year, which provides energy management capabilities.  In the past, customers would need to buy the  software from Cisco to receive this new capability. With Cisco ONE software, customers who have a SWSS contract would be automatically entitled to this new upgrade.  This is how other software and SaaS companies like Microsoft and Salesforce.com operate, constantly giving customers more value from their software.   Software license portability allows customers to keep their software licenses across hardware refresh cycles, and gives them flexibility to move these licenses between physical devices and virtual machines.
  • #12 Cisco software provides flexibility and agility in enabling customers to consume our technologies in the way that works best for them. (i.e. not JUST buying the system that comes with the sw but having the option to choose whatever software suite is right for them, having the option to deploy it in any way they want (on prem, cloud, managed service), and having the option to purchase that perpetually or as a subscription, as an enterprise-wide license, buying ahead for future years, paying over time. Last but not least we’re introducing new sw porfolios in our IoE application platforms, extending the edge through fog computing and a very rich data virtualization and analytics capability. And underpinning all of this capability is what we’re calling Cisco ONE Software – that’s the software that really brings our infrastructure to life across the data center, WAN and access.
