Ed Morrison held a workshop on strategic doing at Purdue University on July 16, 2008. The workshop discussed how the modern economy has shifted from one based on wealth created through industry to one based on wealth created through networks. It outlined how strategic doing focuses on linking and leveraging resources to be competitive in this new "2nd curve" economy. The workshop also aimed to overcome myths from the old economy by discussing challenges such as poor education outcomes, high dropout rates, lack of career plans, and the costs of addressing societal problems.
