In fact regulations are different in every country in which the company is present.
Moreover, the sector of human consumption s products involves lots of regulations
regarding the composition of the food, production, marketing, trade, tax and
environmental matters. For example, the use of hydrogenated fats or palm oil is
no longer accepted in Switzerland, Canada, Denmark and New York. In France
these ingredients are not forbidden but all the products which are made with them
have to be clearly indicated. These hydrogenated fats were used by Kraft Foods in
some of its biscuits and thus the company had to remove and replace them by other
ingredient less risky for customers health. All these new regulations could increase
company s costs and affect its profitability. In fact company s need to comply with
new or revised regulations or their interpretation and application, including proposed
requirements designed to enhance food safety or to regulate imported ingredients,
could materially and adversely affect the company s product sales, financial condition
and results of operations. Threat of New Entrants Low The threat of new
international entrants is very low because the probability that tomorrow a new
company arrives and becomes one of the main competitors of Kraft Foods is very
low, even non existent. In fact, barriers at the entrance for a new company are too
important because the market is totally saturated. The threat of new entrants, national
Differences Involved In The Digestive System
The digestive system is one of the main organ systems. The first process in the
digestive system is to consume the food. This is called ingestion. The digestive
system is what absorbs and breaks down the food and drinks that were eaten. The
digestive organs break down food in two ways, mechanical digestion and chemical
digestion. In mechanical digestion, the processes starts from the mouth to the stomach
. During this process the food gets broken into smaller sizes. Then from there
chemical digestions begins to occur. Chemical digestion is when many different
enzymes break down the molecules so that they can be absorbed. Chemical digestion
begins in the mouth and continues in the intestines. The mouth does two things,
mechanical breakdown of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The food is changed into chyme which is a slimy material. The chyme gets mixed
with highly acidic gastric juice and strong digestive enzymes in the stomach. This is
to prepare the chyme for the small intestine. There are hormones like gastine and
molin that help move the chyme and pump gastric juice. The chyme then goes to the
first part of the small intestine called the duodenum. The small intestines have three
parts which are the duodenum, jejunum, and the ileum. The small intestines break
down the chyme by enzymes from the pancreas and bile. The pancreas produces
insulin which controls metabolism in the blood and enzymes that break down fats,
carbohydrates, and protein. Then the gallbladder releases the bile it stores into the
duodenum to absorb fats. The duodenum is mostly the continuous breakdown of the
chyme while the jejunum and ileum absorb the nutrients. All the nutrients get
absorbed from the foods (vitamins, proteins, minerals, fats, and carbohydrates) that
travel into the bloodstream throughout the body. This is the third main function
called absorption. The liver absorbs all the nutrients from the small intestines.
Another thing that the liver does is it makes chemicals from the nutrients it absorbs
that the body needs. It also breaks down poisons and drugs in the body. From the
small intestines come the large intestines (colon) that are attached to the small

his plane. His plane is taking off at 9:00pm, and will land in Australia within the
next 24 hours. Steve starts to walk to his bag check in, and get his boarding pass

When he gets there, he walks up to the Chick Fil A restaurant. Steve asks politely,

Descriptive Essay On A Car
I woke up hearing the infuriating and pulsating ring of my alarm. I checked the
calendar, another Sunday, just like any other hunting day. I assembled my
weapons into my old black duffle bag; a silenced handgun, a military grade pocket
knife and my SR 25 sniper rifle. Wearing a pair of ripped jeans as faded as erased
blue pencil markings and a grey hoodie that hugged every crevice of my muscular
torso, I headed out to my old black pickup truck. Throwing the duffle bag into the
passenger seat with force, I quickly hopped into the driver s seat. While starting the
engine, it made the all too familiar sounds; kch, kch, kch kch kch kch kvooom, I
thought to myself I should really get this car checked out... Whatever, this is my
piece of garbage hunting car anyways. After starting the car, I raced down the street
with the speed of a diving peregrine falcon, leaving a gust of sand and dust behind
me, Today is going to be a good day. I feel it. While driving around, I suddenly
spotted a stranger. She was a tall and voluptuous woman, with golden hair that
seemed to flow like water in the gentle summer breeze and leggings as tight as a
painted on coating. Her sweater was a deep cherry red and her smile illuminated all
of her surroundings. With an innocent wave, she gestured that she was a hitchhiker. I
smiled back at her with my dimples raised, eyes twinkling, and nodded for her to hop
in. Yes, she is the one. I thought.
Hey, how are you? She asked.

The Lethal Injection 2014 was the worst year in the 37th year history of the lethal

the evening of July 23, 2014, Joseph Rudolph Wood III was killed at the Florence

day of his execution for over 15 years. The day finally came. The execution of Wood
began at exactly 1:52 MST. His death was supposed to be fast, painless, and most
importantly, instantaneous. This did not actually happen that day. What was
supposed to be a ten minute procedure, lasted over two whole excruciating,
agonizing, two hour, of his life. The deadly drug cocktail that was injected into his

The Greatest Kings Of Ancient Babylon
There were many leaders who tried to control and ensure power for themselves and
their citizens. Many would go to the extreme to maintain their powers and others
would let the people s influence, influence them. Some places that had leaders were,
Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, and even India. One of the most
important leader back in 1795 BCE was Hammurabi, but was overthrown in 1750.
He was the leader in Babylonbut was taken down by Assyrians. The Assyrians had
taken over Babylon, had made it their own, and have changed so much. They
forced all the people to move out to their Assyrian Kingdom and obey the Assyrian
Kingdom. Hindus practice a religion called hinduism which was formally started in
India. Many people had to live by hinduism because they were born in it. They won
t be able to change who they are, it was basically impossible. King Nebuchadnezzar
was one of the greatest kings of Ancient Babylon. He was considered the best kind
because he had restored old religion monuments and improved waterways. He was
able to control the periphery because of him and his strong and professional army.
It is hard just to pick one best leader but most will say that Hammurabi was the best
one, only because of how was able to maintain his city in peace and maintain his
power.
Hammurabi was the sixth king of Babylon from 1792 BCE to 1750 BCE. When

Considering Dentures? What You Should Know About Implants
If your teeth are in bad shape and you re considering dentures, you might want to look
into getting implants. You have a couple of options with implants. You can attach
them to both plates, so the dentures are more stable, or you can attach them to only
your bottom plates. Here are some things to know about how the implant process
works.
Why You Would Want Implants
Dentures are a good alternative when you need to have all or most of your teeth
removed. However, they can cause problems due to slipping. This makes it difficult
to eat and speak. Implants eliminate this problem. When you have implants, the
dentures snap right onto the rods that are implanted into your bone. This holds ...

This will give you a feel for wearing them and help the dentist decide exactly where
you ll need the implants placed to hold the dentures securely.
Sufficient Bone Mass Needed
One problem that develops when you have missing teeth is that the bone in your
jaw recedes. Your bone needs stimulation from teeth roots to stay strong and
healthy. If you don t have enough bone, your dentist is unable to stabilize an
implant. However, the dentist may be able to work around the problem by spacing
the implants in such a way they are inserted in areas of healthy bone and avoid
areas of recessed bone. Also, a bone graft may be considered. A graft increases the
size of your bone, but since it is an additional procedure that requires time to heal, it
prolongs the process of getting your implants.
The Implant Process
Even if you don t need to have a bone graft, it usually takes several months to get
through the process of getting implant dentures. Depending on your situation and the
dentist you choose, it might be possible to get the procedure done in a single visit.
However, getting implants is usually a two step
Tis But Thy Name That Is My Enemy
Juliet from the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare says about Romeo,
Tis but thy name that is my enemy. She claims that it is Romeo s name, Montague,
that is her enemy, and not Romeo himself, although Romeo s name influenced who
he was. Most of the time, names are given to people by their family members after
they are born. However, there are also people who choose their own names. Most
names have a meaning behind them. That meaning doesn t always represent who
we are. In my case, my name has a story behind it. Everyone s names were chosen
for a reason, even if that reason is insignificant. Before I was born, my mom and
my dad knew they wanted me to have an Armenian name. They were considering
many different names, some of which are hard for Americans to pronounce. For
that reason, they narrowed the choices down to a couple names that were more
simple. They wanted it to be easy for others to pronounce and spell. Those choices
were Tamar, Maral, and Lilit. The night that they were driving to the hospital before
I was born, they came across a deer on the road. Since Maral translates to deer in
Armenian, they decided to name me that. Although I wasn t named after anyone in
particular, the culture behind my name is important to me and my parents. Before
asking my parents about it, I never knew that they wanted my name to be easy for
others to pronounce. Compared to other names, my name was always difficult for my
teachers and classmates to say correctly. In fact,
The Invention Of Printing Press
In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It
was during this time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg
created one of the most important machines during the modern period: the printing
press. The printing press was inspired by earlier uses found in China and Japan as
early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print was using the method of block
printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of text. ( Patterns
for )
With the Gutenberg invention the revolution had begun. It advanced the process of
movable type further, and started a new era of printing called typography. The
typography allowed information to move from almost permanent and portable to the

Templates that were used on every page to create a mass production and look like a
single work. ( User Interface )
The templates are essential in mobile design. It helps to the designer to create
layouts based on cultural norms of reading and how people process information. The
templates that are used across a product, on most every page of a website or
application, we call a wrapper because they enclose (wrap around) all the other
components and the content. Also there are some patterns based on how the human
mind processes pattern, objects, and information. ( User Interface )
Scroll bars when information on a page exceeds the viewport, a scroll bar control
may be required to access the additional information. Scrolling of information should
almost always occur along one axis, except in rare cases. ( Patterns for )
The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the
viewport. You have to provide a method to access this information.
The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and
the relative position within the scrollable area.
Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis.
This is why the whole set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the
situation demands, such as for zooming in to content which otherwise fits the area,
you can also offer a secondary scroll axis. Keep the secondary axis in mind
throughout the design process because
Speech On Perception
There s many factors in life that makes us view the world in a certain way.
Everybody has a different opinion about the world and everything around. In the
article Perception can influence you in many ways , written by Bryan Golden. He
said How do you see the world around you? Do you take action based on your needs
and goals, or is your behavior dependent on how you feel others will view you? There
are two types of perception; the way you see yourself and your world and the way
others see you and their world. The only perception you have control over is your
own. It is just not possible to control the perception of others. For example, consider
the temperature of a room. You perceive a room as being comfortable while
someone else thinks it s too cold. No amount of discussion or arguing will resolve
the difference in perception. Our own behavior is influenced by how we feel we ll
be perceived. Not only are we concerned with the perception of people we know
and who are close to us, we are even sensitive to the perception of complete
strangers. Therefore, we will alter or avoid any behavior we believe will be
perceived as foolish. This causes us to alter our path to accommodate the
perceptions of others. As a result, our goals are compromised or missed altogether.
Ironically, people often have the same perception of you regardless of what you do.
It s a complete waste of time to worry about the perceptions of others.
Your best strategy is pursuing your own goals without
Mother Teres The Spiritual Leader

When a Christian reacts and have faith in the announcement of God instigation or

she desired to do. It procured two years for her appeal to be approved. In 1948, she

Executive Management, Board Of Directors
In general, the corporations work towards meeting the end goal of adding value to its
shareholders and/or stakeholders, but the way this value is added and who is given
priority while adding this value depends on the perspectives (session1 slides)
corporations choose to fulfill the objective of the given corporation. Corporation
structures involve executive management, board of directors and its internal and
external stakeholders. The executive management are at the helm of running the
company, executing strategy and managing company operations, while corporate
boards are supposed to keep an careful watch and guide executive management
activity. Boards are primarily performing advisory and monitoring functions i) by

Techniques In Ache Lhamo
As the actors move along, their movements are set to the beat of percussion
instruments which compliment the steps and accentuate the underlying emotional
tenor. Steady beats may help emphasise on continuity, which is punctuated with a
clang of the cymbals when a distressed character makes an entry. The dance
movements include turns and step hops, done with one leg lifted and bent in front,
and flowing wrist movements. These steps and movements are similar to the farmer

However, actors do not draw from personal experiences of emotions. They detach
their personal experiences from those of the characters they are portraying. There is
no continuity between the actors emotional experiences and the characters emotional
experiences. The method used for the training of the characters of Lhamo could be
compared to the Stanislavsky s system that is a series of techniques used to train the
performers to create credible characterizations for their performances. A method
created by Constantin Stanislavsky (in Russia between 1934 and 1938) whose
foundation lay on the notion of emotional memory, for which the performer focuses
on the inside to portray a character s emotions onstage. Stanislavski believed that the
true happenings onstage were actually different from that of real life, but that a scenic
truth could be attained onstage. A performance should be such that the audience
believes in it so that it appears to them as the truth. To achieve this truthful pursuit of
a character s , one method used by Stanislavski was his Magic If
American Colonies Role In The Revolutionary War
The American colonies victory in the Revolutionary War rewarded them with
independence from England and allowed them to begin a new nation of states.
Political, diplomatic, and military factors were a huge role in their prized
independence. At The Second Continental Congress in 1775, noble colonists from all
thirteen coloniesagreed to appoint George Washington, a respectable, trusted leader, as
general of the American military and drafted the Declaration of independence, which
was approved in 1776. Additionally, Thomas Paine wrote Common Sense in 1776
encouraging American colonists to break away from Britain. In the popular pamphlet,
he introduced a new political ideology, republicanism, that gave people the authority

The Role Of Television In Presidential Debates
The rise of popularity in presidential television debates leads one to the question of
it having a positive and or negative impact on candidates campaigns. Television
allowed people to see the debate in a new perspective, visually, however it idolizes
and highlights candidates to make them seem as if they are celebrities, instead of
focusing on their intellect and topics to improve the nation. Therefore one can see the
impacts of televisionas negative, for the media is downplaying the actual value of
presidential campaigns and focusing on less important irrelevant entertaining topics.
Television is taking the serious main focus of presidential debates and devaluing it to
minimize the whole picture as well as focus on unnecessary entertaining matters, for a
presidential debate actions such as this are disdainful. Instead of focusing on
candidate s of intellect the media highlights candidates of more appealing entertaining

Heart Pacemaker Essay
The heart has its electrical conducting system that controls the rate and the rhythm.
Electrical signals or impulses originate from the sinoatrial (SA) node and travel down
an electrical pathway into the ventricles causing an organized atrial ventricular
contraction. The point of where electrical signals/impulses originated is known as the
natural heartpacemaker. The electrical signal must travel down a specific pathway
to the ventricles for the heart to beat properly. However, in some cases, the
sinoatrial nodes may be defected causing the heart to beat too fast, too slow or
irregular. There may have been a blockage in the heart electrical pathways. If these

Rhetorical Devices Used In The Gettysburg Address
Sixteenth president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, in his speech, the
Gettysburg Address, delivered after the battle of Gettysburg speaks solemnly of the
soldiers who perished in the strife. Not just of the of the North, but the South as well.
Lincoln s purpose is to reflect upon the battle and demonstrate amongst the American
public that it is their civil duty to not let these soldiers die in vain. More specifically,
he stresses the issue for the nation to still stand and not perish from the earth. Lincoln
adopts a sentimentally passionate tone in order to emphasize the gravity of the
situation from the fifty thousand who died in the battle. President Lincoln, in his
address, utilizes the syntactic use of parallelism and further elaborates his purpose
through use of appeals to authority.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, he immediately counters this imagery by emphasizing how the U.S
citizens cannot mourn and commemorate the dead but het must finish what they
began. Lincoln does this by employing the syntactical use of parallelism. Lincoln
further demonstrates that even though there was much blood splattered we can not
just mourn for them we cannot dedicate we cannot consecrate we cannot hallow
this ground. Through the use of parallelism and the repiton of the phrase we can
not, Lincoln is immediately enabled to speak on the same grounds as his audience
as a collaborative effort. Although, more importantly, by establishing more
credibility through the repetition of the phrase we cannot the audience will
essentially believe and follow what Lincoln is declaring since the phrase is almost
as if Lincoln is ordering his audience. In this case he is ordering the audience not to
let these soldiers die in vain. He is also commanding his audience to stay strong,
because if the people are then the nation is
What Is America A Land Of Opportunity
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said America is another name for opportunity . My
vision of America is a place where citizens have a chance for success. Even though
everyone cannot be a millionaire, that does not mean that you have to live on the
streets. It should not matter if you are a farmer, a lawyer, a veteran, or even an
everyday average person, they all have the opportunity to live the American Dream.
This is why I envision America as a land of opportunity and success. In the
countryside, during the middle of summer, there are small farmers tending to their
gardens one the side of the road while there is a large commercial agriculturist
planting and managing the crops for the harvest on the other side. Along with farmers,

We Should Pay College Athletes Essay
Over the years, the debate on whether or not to pay collegiate athletes, specifically
Division 1, has increased greatly. With athletes bringing in millions of dollars to
their respective schools, many believe it s time to make a change. The debate has
been ongoing since the 70 s, maybe even earlier, but it really came to the attention
of many in the early 90 s, specifically 1995. Marcus Camby, a basketball player for
the Toronto Raptors, admitted he took money and jewelry, from somebody who
wanted to be his agent, while he was playing at the University of Massachusetts. This
was one of many incidents that involved a player accepting money and other gifts
from an agent and/or booster. I believe that college athletes... Show more content on

If they received some compensation for the hard work, this corruption would
gradually lessen, because the need for money would lessen.
Just recently the NCAA allowed college athletes to get a job, but seriously, where
are the athletes going to find the time to work. With classes, schoolwork, practices,
and games (which include traveling all over the country), when are they going to
fit in time to serve fries at Burger King. I guess it s a good thing, says Indiana
University freshman guard Michael Lewis. But between class and basketball, I d
like to know when I ve got time to flip burgers. You have to be realistic, and having
the athletes get a job isn t very realistic. It s hard enough now for the athletes to fit
in time for themselves let alone work. After a long day of practice and school, they
ll be too tired to go to work. No employer is going to want to employ someone that
can only work such select hours, freshman gymnast Dominic Brindle.
Most coaches sign lucrative contracts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars with

Queen Elizabeth 1 Research Paper
The success of Elizabeth s reign was not dependent on her virginity but rather the
manner in which the Virgin Queen utilised the available mechanisms to achieve
immense advantages for her nation While Elizabeth certainly used her virginity and
purity as a mechanism in empowering her reign, she may have had numerous reasons
to avoid marriage, rather then an intentional political manoeuver. This apparent self
sacrificing nature demonstrates Elizabeth s over compensation for being a woman.
Rather than be regarded as a feeble Monarch due to her gender, maintaining her
status as the Virgin Queen ensured possession of one of the most powerful political
mechanisms in England s history. Far too much emphasis is placed on her virginity

This demonstrates Elizabeth s dedication to her nation, which she put before any
possible courtier. She viewed her coronation ring as the equivalent to a wedding
ring and felt more bound to her nation than to any man. This image of loyalty gave
the impression that Elizabeth was England s most devoted ruler regardless of
gender. The Virgin Queen appeared to be married to her nation and had room for
no one else in her life as she considered herself to be the daughter, bride and mother
of England. The Queen was not discouraged by her lack of children or husband
because she regarded her nation as the entirety of her life. However remaining a

American Revolution Research Paper
American Revolution Around the period of 1765 to 1788 North America was going
through great changes. Around 1775 the thirteen colonies demanded to be democratic
government and in 1776 they established the declaration of independence. The
thirteen colonies refused to be under the British government and wanted to separate.
In the year 1781 the British surrendered in the American Revolutionand the U.S was
declared independence. Many things caused Americans to revolt against Great
Britain. The main reason the Americans revolted against the Britain was taxes on
certain goods. Between the year 1754 and through 1763 the war between Britain and
France ended with the British victory. This was called the French and Indian War.

Abigail Williams
Abigail Williams is described as a manipulative and vindictive person. Abigail
Williams, throughout Arthur Miller s The Cruicible, contradicts the value of a
communitarian. She tends to hurt others around her to get what she wants. She first
commits adultery with John Proctor, Elizabeth s husband. Abigail also accuses
innocent people of doing witchcraft. She uses the Salem Witch Trials to put out all
the resentment she has toward everyone. Abigail takes advantage of the society s
communitarian values for her own selfish interest.
Abigail contradicts the society s beliefs of community through manipulation. Abigail

Abigail and the girls are called into court for testimony, therefore Abigail proceeds
to put the blame on Mary Warren. The girls and Abigail all blame Mary Warren for
the witchcraft. Mary realizes she can not win and claims that You re the Devil s
man! (Miller 118). Abigail s lies deceives the court by putting the blame off of her
and onto Mary Warren. Abigail s lies shows that she has enough power to make
others go along with her lies even if it is considered sin. Sinning is one of the main
commendments in the community, but Abigail does not resist to it. She puts the
community at risk by thinking of her own survival. Once sexual rekindling fails,
Abigail uses selfishness to block out reality. Abigail defies the commandment
about adultery and she does not give up until she gets what she wants. Once
shunned by the respectable townsfolk who had heard rumors of her affair with
John Proctor, Abigail now finds that she has power over the community, and takes
full advantage of it. I have a sense for heat, John, and yours has drawn me to my
window, and I have seen you looking up, burning in your loneliness. Do you tell me
that you ve never looked up at my window? (Miller 23).
While Proctor may still be attracted to Abigail, he is desperately trying to put the
incident behind him. Abigail, on the other hand, has no such sense of closure. She
begs him to come
How to Become a Translator
How to Become a Translator
The industry of language translation is gaining momentum quite rapidly than it has
fifteen years ago. It has grown to be regarded as one of the most promising career
opportunities at this age of digital technology. Businesses and individuals have
created a greater and increasingly stable demand for human translators. Linguists now
have minimal fear of being saturated in their profession because of a teeming demand
for translation projects. The emergence of machine translation and computer aided
translation has helped the industry contrary to some people who deemed these tools
as unfavorable, threatening to extinguish human linguists with such technology. It
has, in fact, made the human translator an inevitable component of the translation
process. Aware of the restrictions and limits of what these tools can do, the human
translator is still the one in control of the whole process. Human logic and knowledge
cannot be replaced with machines or any other tools. Machines can only interpret
data and concept up to a certain degree; they cannot translate concepts. Only the
complexities of the human brain can grasp these often technical and difficult
processes.
Given the important functions that human linguists play in content translation for
business expansion and product localization, the demand for translators is seen to
go up in the ensuing years. This means that here will be a steady flow of jobs for
more translators all over the world. Is language
Disadvantages Of Perception
The word Perception comes from the Latin words perception, percipio, meaning
receiving, collecting, action of taking possession, apprehension with the mind or
senses . Literally, perception can be expressed as an assumption of someone

Atkinson (1999) which states that perceptionis the way of an individual attract and

Similarities Between Doodle And The Scarlet Ibis
Doodle, a young disabled boy, is a burden to his Brother . Brother, is very ashamed
and embarrassed of Doodle. The story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst shows how
Doodle is like the Scarlet Ibis. Doodle and the Scarlet Ibis have many of the same
conflicts and repeating actions in the story. In The Scarlet Ibis, Hurst develops the
symbolism, which is shown through birds, death, and the colorredshows how fragile
Doodle really is during his lifetime. One example of Hurst showing symbolism in the
story is through birds. Doodle and the scarlet ibisare both graceless and very weak.
The scarlet ibis tries to fly, but fails to do so. At that moment the bird began to
flutter, but the wings were uncoordinated, and amid much flapping and a spray of
feathers, it tumbled down, bumping through the limbs of the bleeding tree and
landing at our feet with a thud (Hurst 321). Doodle is comparable to the scarlet
ibis. He is very clumsy, and looked down upon by his family. They believed that he
was not going to live. He is shown through the scarlet ibis because the bird is also
very weak, like Doodle. They both have come over many obstacles to be alive. But
still, you never know if something so little to you, could break something so
fragile like a Scarlet Ibis. In the story after Doodle dies. It talks about how empty
the house was. ...the oriole nest in the elm was untenanted and rocked back and
forth like an empty cradle (Hurst 315). Now that the birds are gone and the tree is
not occupied, it is like the empty cradle in the house now that Doodle is gone. He
is shown through the birds. Doodle is just like the birds leaving their home. And
now that Doodle is gone, it is a very empty sensation lingering in the home he once
lived in. Doodle is symbolically a bird in the story the Scarlet Ibis because he is very
weak and fragile, just like the bird.
Hurst develops the idea of death, and it is symbolic towards Doodle and his family.
The idea of death has come over Doodle s family. Doodle is the smell drifting
across the cotton field into the room. The last graveyard flowers were blooming, and
their smell drifted across the cotton field and through every room of our house,
speaking softly the names of our dead

the top priorities. Nevertheless, this food self sufficiency is under strong constraints
and handicaps, particularly from the massive rural population growth which
consequently leading to illiteracy, ignorance, and backwardness. Besides, alarming

fragmented, ecology degraded, infrastructural facilities do not match with the growth
of rural population. This problem has been aggravated mainly by demographic
pressure which leads to a large number of very small fields of the country and poor
infrastructure facilities like water, electricity, transport, educational institutions,
communication, health, warehousing etc. Unless these problems are strategically

impediments in implementing rural development programmes and pragmatic efforts
to overcome them for ensuring equitable and sustainable development in rural

Battle Of Hastings Dbq
The Battle of Hastings happened on the 14th of October 1066 in East Sussex
which is outside of Hastings. The battle was between Harold Godwinson and
William, duke of Normandy. There are three main reasons why William won the
Battle of Hastings; this is because William had a head start and he also has cavalry.
The main reason he won was because during the battle William ordered his foot
soldiers to run away so that the English would go downhill after them.
One reason why William won the Battle of Hastings was because of his preparation
and readiness for the battle. His army were provided with cavalry that were trained to
kick, bite and head butt. This is shown in the Bayeux Tapestry and source 3 where
there are soldiers seen fighting on horses. I know that William s half brother
organised the creation of the tapestry so the information on it is likely to be accurate.
This meant William won the Battle of Hastings because he had an extra weapon that
the English didn t have therefore could surprise them, attack and leave more damage.

William ordered his foot soldiers to fake retreat. This is found in Source 5 because it
shows William and Harold s movements. My opinion is that doing this is very
intelligent because doing this tricks the opposing team. This meant that William won
the Battle of Hastings because it this meant that the English got confused so they
followed the Normans down the hill, therefore breaking the shield wall. When they
were at the bottom of the hill, the Normans killed the Bretons quickly so without
William making this decision, it would ve been less likely that the Saxons would ve
won the Battle of
Catherine Howard Research Paper
For my research paper, I plan to write about the Boleyn/Howard family. I will be
focusing mainly on Henry VIII wives Anne Boleyn and her cousin Catherine
Howard. The time frame I look to examine is from the rise of Anne Boleyn and her
family to the fall of Catherine Howard and the aftermath of their executions and how
it affected the family left behind. I think that both the Boleyn s and Howard s were
very influential towards the middle and end of Henry s reign. Most prominent is
Anne Boleynwho has been polarized throughout history as either an innocently
executed wife or a malicious and ambitious she wolf who brought down Catholicism
in England. Whichever way you look at it Anne is one of his most remembered and
influential wives. For whatever... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Catherine s quick rise and fall from favor shows just how unstable Henry had really
become in his final years. How he had no problem in executing anyone who
betrayed him, even his 18 year old wife. Catherine also represents the Howards
final attempt to gain control and power in England by placing another Howard girl
on the throne. During his reign Henry was known to keep favorites and
handsomely reward those who pleased him. For this reason, early on the noble
families of England vied for Henry s attention and rewards by trying to make the
ladies in their families his mistresses. However, that strategy changed when Anne
went from being his mistress to becoming queen of England. This meant that they
weren t just playing for money and power but they were now fighting for a place
on the throne. This became increasingly more difficult after Anne s execution when
Henry showed that no one was safe and wining the throne was a dangerous play.
Still, families like the Seymour and the Howards tried to gain power this way. For
the most part, the Seymour succeeded in this endeavor by giving Henry what he
most desired, a male heir. The Howards however failed with Anne and her daughter
Elizabeth and then with Catherine who though young and fertile gave Henry no
children and was later discovered as an
The Parents Role in School Shootings Essay
When children commit a horrible act such as a school shooting their parents often
look for someone or something to blame rather than looking at what role they, as
parents, may have had in the tragedy. The often targeted entertainers, video game
developers, teachers, drug companies, and writers are rarely, if ever, responsible for
such tragic outcomes and, unfortunately, often become victims as a result of lawsuits
filed in an attempt to place blame on them. The parents of dangerous children must be
scrutinized and sued alongside every other entity being blamed for the heinous crimes
that children commit.

Before the 1999 Columbine tragedy, there was the 14 year old boy in Paducah,
Kentucky who, in 1997, went on a shooting spree at his local school. Parents of 3 of
the shooting victims filed lawsuits against 25 media companies seeking $130 million

playing video and computer games. The lawsuits further implied that violent movies
and internet pornography were to blame for the boy s behavior (Holmstrom, par. 6).
In both the Columbine and the Paducah, Kentucky cases the parents of the shooters

from occurring. According to an article written by Mark Walsh regarding the Paducah

Causality And Correlation Essay
Lets start this discussion by explaining what correlation and causation/causality are.
Correlation also known as association is the simultaneous variation in two variables.
Causality is different in that it is the notion that a change in one factor results in a
corresponding change in another. Lets use an example to better understand
correlation and causality. The book uses the example of income and healthin regards
to correlation. People that have a higher household income enjoy the perks of better
healthcare which means these people are in better health. The opposite being
people that have a lower income do not enjoy the perks of healthcare and
essentially have poorer health. Using this example you can see how income and
health are working together simultaneously. As one factor variates, the other variates
the same way. In regards to causation lets use the example of people s height.
Causation is essentially cause and effect. When two tall people have offspring the
child will most likely be tall. The cause us the two people having a child and the...

This is not one thing changing and the other following rather this is one aspect
being the cause and the other being the effect. Tall parents, tall child; this is cause
and effect or causality to a T. There is another example that will further help
explain causality versus correlation. The example follows the parents and child
situation. People see a nice and respectful child and they automatically think the
parents did a great job raising the child. A effecting B. What if the child actually
influenced the parents. To further explain what if the parents ere mean and un kind
people however they had a child who learned differently and actually changed who
the parents were. This is referred to as revere causality. Instead of A the parents
effecting B the child, rather B effects A. This is cause and effect of personalities.
Correlation is not
Launch Angle Research Paper
Understanding Launch Angle and Why Hitters are Employing It
Meta Description A launch angle in baseball measures the vertical angle of the ball
as it meets the bat. Launch angles range from under ten degrees for ground balls to
50 degrees or more for pop ups. MLB statistics show that the best launch angles for
batters are 19 to 26 degrees. These angles result in more hits and homers.
A launch angle, in baseball, is the vertical angle measurement of the ball when it
leaves a player s bat. These measurements vary depending on how hard the bat
contacts the ball.
Analysts can figure out a hitter s viability by averaging their launch angle from all
his at bats. However, launch angles are also used to discuss pitchers, and what type
of contact the average batter can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A ball must have a speed of 98 mph (exit velocity) when it leaves the bat and any ball
struck at that speed with a 26 30 degree launch angle is classified as barreled. The
launch angle degree rises at speeds over 98 mph.
When the speed of the ball increases to 100 mph or more, the launch angle goes up
by two or three degrees until there s an exit velocity of 116 mph. At that point, a ball
with a launch angle of eight to 50 degrees is classified as barreled.
Balls classified as barreled during the MLB s 2016 season had a slugging percentage
of 2.386 and an .822 batting average.
Softball Barrels
A batted ball in softball belongs is barreled when the exit velocity is 67 mph or
more and the launch angle is between 20 and 38 degrees. Most softball fields have
a fence that s between 200 and 220 feet. When the fence is farther away, the ball
needs to be hit harder and the launch angle has a smaller window of

Forever, Oasis
Some things in history we do not know, listen closely as I tell you the forgotten tale

Aria wake up! you re going to be late for sand surfing practice . Ok i m coming stop

kick them off the team. Besides the yelling, they both had a nice practice. After
practice they walked Aria back to the shop. Bye, and don t get yourself killed
exploring. Oh and meet me at the secret waterfall Aria stated. Don t poke yourself

the town and started to set shops on fire, including hers. She noticed the fire, but
not in time. Her shop was now covered with flames. She stood there as her shop
transformed to ashes. She needed to run or else she would be a pile of ashes
herself. Running is exactly what she did. She ran to her fox friend Eliss who was
at the waterfall as waiting for her. From what it looked like he was praying. Aria
tapped him on the shoulder and screamed WE NEED TO GET FRIKKIN OUTA

monsters surrounding the town gate.
As they ran through the desert looking for safety Aria asked Eliss why were you

running down his face followed by another. Finally he opened his mouth and said
m my mom got torn from her bones, and eaten alive by one of the sand spiders. You
should have heard her scream for mercy . Tears streamed down his red, furry, foxish
face. After they stopped for a sip of water (from the water bottle Eliss found on the

The Case Of Legal Drinking Age
The final situation I have had concerning unclear boundaries involved me and a
professor. This individual was someone I had grown to know and respect and took
several courses under. The incident occurred after I had graduated from Western
Carolina University with my bachelor s degrees while I was living in Cullowhee
over the summer. I was invited to the professor s house along with another former
student to eat dinner with him and his wife. While we were eating the meal, the
professor gave me and the other student a glass of wine to go with dinner. Even
though I was of legal drinking age and was no longer a student of the professor s, it
felt strange to have a professor provide me alcohol.
Also, I felt uncomfortable being in the professor s home since it was the first time I
had socialized with a professor outside of a school environment. I later discussed the
event with the other student to inquire if the situation also made her uncomfortable.
The individual disclosed that she did not feel uncomfortable since this was not her
first time having dinner with the professor and his wife. I did not talk about how
this incident made me feel with my professor. The reason the boundaries were
unclear in this situation was that there was a multiple relationship. I was now the
professor s former student as well as an individual who had a social relationship with
the professor.
Unlike the two previous examples, I was not the individual with a position of power.

Steam Car History
Beginning in the 1770 s many people tried to make cars run on steam. Some early
steam cars worked well, and and some did not. Some were fire pumpers that moved
by themselves, and other were small locomotives with road wheels. Beginning in the
1800Вґs, inventors tried very hard to make cars that would run enough to use every
day.
These experimental cars ran on steam, gasoline, or electricity. By the 1890 europeans
were buying and driving cars made by Duryea, Haynes Winton, and others. A steam
car burned fuel that heated water in a boiler.
By 1905 gasoline cars were made more popular than steam electric cars because they
were easier to use and could travel further without adding fuel . By 1910 gasoline
cars became larger and became larger and more powerful, and someland folding tops

European Trade Routes 1100-1500 Essay
If there was ever an important period historians, and people could put a finger on,
this would be it. This is the important period where the world s countries, kingdoms,
and dynasties established trade routes. This is the period where countries were made
and countries were destroyed because of the importance of trade and the importance
of building a fundamental, religious, and economical way of life. This paper will
discuss the goals and functions of trades, and traders, and a historical analysisof world
trade. This paper will also get into world trade patterns, of The Americas, Sub Saharan
Africa, The Indian Ocean, The Silk routes, China and The South China Sea, Europe

Karl Polanyi, a historical anthropologist at Comlumbia University, argued that market
economies, private profit seeking, and capitalism were a peculiar and unnatural way
of structuring an economy. (The Worlds History, Spodek, ch.12, p.375) Polanyi also
discussed how back in ancient times, trading was meant to provide and benefit the
whole society, not personal benefit like the free market economy was. Another
historian, Philip Curtin, agreed with Polanyi is many ways; except that there was
historical proof there was individual, personal trading going on in ports and
throughout long distance routes back in the earliest times. (The Worlds History,
Spodek, 2001, Ch. 12)
Trade patterns in The South Americas included the Andes Mountains. When The
Incas controlled the land in the early 15th century, the people generated extensive
trade throughout the hundreds of miles north and south linking together a total of 32
million people. With so many mountains and zones to deal with, many products came
out of this to trade, including potatoes, maize, chili peppers, squash, beans and others.
Trade between these zones of the north and south, were controlled by semi divine
state rulers. In the Yucatan of Central and South America the Mayan people
blossomed from 200 900 B.C.E. By the time The Spanish came in the 1520 s the

Transit Oriented Development ( Tod ) Essay
Introduction
Transit Oriented Development (TOD) began as a counter movement to urban sprawl
and it s economic, social, and environmental impacts by moving more towards the

The future of living is cities. Somehow the ancients understood it, but Americans in
the 1950s decided cities were a thing of the past. The movement from the city to the
suburb has been one of the single most expensive cultural migrations in world
history. There is much more than the initial cost of a house with a yard. There are
the environmental costs that accumulate from the destruction of wildlife from both,
building materials and the clearing of area for the physical house. This initial cost
also does not account for the supermarkets, and roads needed to sustain life in these
suburban areas separated into pods. What about the costs of a car needed for
transportation in these metropolises, and all their external costs as well? Those are
not accounted for either, but suburban living was the American Dream for nearly
half a century. However, as the American Dream, and family models, change there is
an evident need for living conditions to change as well. There is not a singular way
to design a city, but
Water Is An Essential Part Of Human Lives
Water is an essential part of human lives. People not only need water for
consumption, but also utilize it daily in several ways; this includes bathing, washing,
sewage/waste, watering outdoors, etc. Water is essentially everywhere. Although
access to water in the United States often seems so simple and easy, water is not
always in the form people see coming out of the faucet. There are a variety of water
sources on the Earth. Although from several sources, water has a distinguished cycle
on the planet. Examining the water cycleand the sources of water on the earth can
help bring a better understanding of water usage and available resources.
According to the NASA Earth Observation, over 75% of the Earth s surface is
made up of water (Graham, Parkinson, Chahine, 2010). The Earth s total water
content is roughly 1.39 billion cubic kilometers, or 331 million cubic miles
(Graham et al., 2010). As seen in Figure 1, there are a variety of categories the
Earth s water can be broken up into. Over 96% of the Earth s water is made up of
the five oceans (Graham et al., 2010). When examining water simply in terms of
freshwater, most of the reservoir comes from glaciers and ice caps. By examining
these percentages, a greater knowledge of the Earth s total water supply can be
gained. These percentages can also be factored into the water cycle to better
understand how water rotates through the Earth and the atmosphere.
The water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle, describes

Jet Airways has comparatively fared well but has declined over time. All other
things being constant, the profits of both airways providers from sales have been
declining. Since these figures are percentages, their comparison is valid. 3.Debt
Equity Ratio This ratio is the proportion of debt that companies has relative to the
shareholder s equity. Simply, it is a ratio of borrowed money to the owned money.
When a company has a low debt to equity ratio, it shows that there is lesser risk
since there is less borrowing that the company owes, and vice versa. It can be
calculated as follows: Debt to equity ratio = total liabilities / total shareholders

American Red Cross Training Research Paper
Red Cross Training
Learning and having the Red Cross training has completely been of a great
advantage to me. This experience has persuaded me to accomplish a new set of goals
in my life, like helping others in need. It also has augmented my knowledge about this
important organization. According to what I learned, Clara Barton was the founder of
the Red Cross, and the mission of this foundation is to prevent and alleviate human
suffering in the face of emergencies. This is a worldwide organization that has come
to be known internationally, by their basic principles, which are: humanity,
impartiality, and neutrality. The Red Cross is partnered with the government, and it
offers many different types of services to people. It offers, blood, international,
health, disaster, and safety services. The American Red Crossalso uses psychology
resources and skills to solve some issues. In my Psychology class, I have studied

This service is offered to the public and it helps individuals who suffered from
traumatic or disastrous events, some of them are still in shock, and the RC helps
reviewing their mental health. The Red Cross volunteers sit and talk with these
people, and try to help them recuperate from this shock and hard circumstances of
life. Mental and health volunteers have a big job in the Red Cross because many
people suffer daily from difficult situations, and it is the mission of them to help
those in need. As I studied in my Psychology classroom, mental stability is very
important in order to enjoy a healthy life. Some of the many catastrophes that occur
daily, are natural disasters. In some cases families are separated, but the Red Cross
takes an action in this types of occasions, they help families reunite again. Thinking
about this, it also helps families gain emotional health, so Psychology skills are a big
factor in the American Red

The Reading Of The Letter Of Pope Urban II Essay
In the reading of the Letter of Pope Urban II, 1095, a little bell rings the name Paul.
The Paul that was once known as Saul, in relaxing and listening to the tape of Pope
Urban II, as he recites this letter. It is as though Paul and Peter, the Apostles of
Jesus has returned from the grave, and you hear, Paul states, Beloved Brethren and
Sisters, I speak with you from the zeal of God, as an Ambassador (paraphrase).
(Ephesians 6:20) Pope Urban II uses the scriptures to goat the people into during
what he requires them to do, by using the Word of God. Pope Urban II, speaks with
authority as though he is god, then he throws in the true God, whom the people
need to obey. In other words, he speaks as a man with earthly power and authority,
but uses the words of God to hide behind. Pope Urban II is a well known monk. In
the eleventh century, there was a host of monasteries who received exemptions
from the jurisdiction of bishops, for which they made a payment to Rome, and
associated themselves with Cluny. Cluny began to bring under its leadership other
Benedictine monasteries, which had been isolated, to form a congregation of
monasteries. Many Cluniac monks became bishops, and Cluniac abbots attended
diocesan and provincial synods. In this time period, popes Clement II, Gregory VII,
and Urban II were Cluniac monks. In 1078, Gregory VII sent for Pope Urban II to
come to Rome, and he was made the Cardinal Bishop of Ostia. Pope Urban II was
sent as Papal

Comparing The Similarities Of Epic Heroes And Medieval
Heroes
A hero is a strong, brave character that is always the protagonist in a story and
always saves the day when there is danger. Superhero s today like Superman, Iron
man, Spider man ect. all share qualities that make them heroic. Whether they have
a special ability or they are just strong and brave people. Epic heroes and Medieval
heroes are two heroes that have qualities that are different. Medieval heroes are
brave, loyal, and gentlemanly while epic heroes are strong, brave, they possess non
human qualities, and can be a little cocky. Every super heroin movies day possess
some ability that makes them different from normal people just like epic heroes.
Epic heroes seem to be more alike modern day heroes than the medieval heroes
because their traits are very alike. Beowulfis a prime example of this because of his
super strength which can be compared to modern day hero superman.
Epic heroes are brave and strong characters that possess non human abilities and
can also be a little cocky. Take Beowulf as an example, he is a character that is
strong and does things that no regular person possesses while also being a little
cocky. An example of him being able to do things other humans can do is when he
is fighting Grendel. As he is fighting Grendel he ends the battle when he completely
rips off his arm. He twisted in pain, and the bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder,
snapped, muscle and bone split and broke, the battle was over Beowulf had been
granted new glory (Source A). This

There are present worldwide and exploit the same segments as Kraft Foods. п‚· National: Companies which are present in only one country but which propose products such as biscuits, dairy products... In fact regulations are different in every country in which the company is present. Moreover, the sector of human consumption s products involves lots of regulations regarding the composition of the food, production, marketing, trade, tax and environmental matters. For example, the use of hydrogenated fats or palm oil is no longer accepted in Switzerland, Canada, Denmark and New York. In France these ingredients are not forbidden but all the products which are made with them have to be clearly indicated. These hydrogenated fats were used by Kraft Foods in some of its biscuits and thus the company had to remove and replace them by other ingredient less risky for customers health. All these new regulations could increase company s costs and affect its profitability. In fact company s need to comply with new or revised regulations or their interpretation and application, including proposed requirements designed to enhance food safety or to regulate imported ingredients, could materially and adversely affect the company s product sales, financial condition and results of operations. Threat of New Entrants Low The threat of new international entrants is very low because the probability that tomorrow a new company arrives and becomes one of the main competitors of Kraft Foods is very low, even non existent. In fact, barriers at the entrance for a new company are too important because the market is totally saturated. The threat of new entrants, national
  • 3. Differences Involved In The Digestive System The digestive system is one of the main organ systems. The first process in the digestive system is to consume the food. This is called ingestion. The digestive system is what absorbs and breaks down the food and drinks that were eaten. The digestive organs break down food in two ways, mechanical digestion and chemical digestion. In mechanical digestion, the processes starts from the mouth to the stomach . During this process the food gets broken into smaller sizes. Then from there chemical digestions begins to occur. Chemical digestion is when many different enzymes break down the molecules so that they can be absorbed. Chemical digestion begins in the mouth and continues in the intestines. The mouth does two things, mechanical breakdown of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The food is changed into chyme which is a slimy material. The chyme gets mixed with highly acidic gastric juice and strong digestive enzymes in the stomach. This is to prepare the chyme for the small intestine. There are hormones like gastine and molin that help move the chyme and pump gastric juice. The chyme then goes to the first part of the small intestine called the duodenum. The small intestines have three parts which are the duodenum, jejunum, and the ileum. The small intestines break down the chyme by enzymes from the pancreas and bile. The pancreas produces insulin which controls metabolism in the blood and enzymes that break down fats, carbohydrates, and protein. Then the gallbladder releases the bile it stores into the duodenum to absorb fats. The duodenum is mostly the continuous breakdown of the chyme while the jejunum and ileum absorb the nutrients. All the nutrients get absorbed from the foods (vitamins, proteins, minerals, fats, and carbohydrates) that travel into the bloodstream throughout the body. This is the third main function called absorption. The liver absorbs all the nutrients from the small intestines. Another thing that the liver does is it makes chemicals from the nutrients it absorbs that the body needs. It also breaks down poisons and drugs in the body. From the small intestines come the large intestines (colon) that are attached to the small

His plane is taking off at 9:00pm, and will land in Australia within the next 24 hours. Steve starts to walk to his bag check in, and get his boarding pass for the plane. • 6. Descriptive Essay On A Car I woke up hearing the infuriating and pulsating ring of my alarm. I checked the calendar, another Sunday, just like any other hunting day. I assembled my weapons into my old black duffle bag; a silenced handgun, a military grade pocket knife and my SR 25 sniper rifle. Wearing a pair of ripped jeans as faded as erased blue pencil markings and a grey hoodie that hugged every crevice of my muscular torso, I headed out to my old black pickup truck. Throwing the duffle bag into the passenger seat with force, I quickly hopped into the driver s seat. While starting the engine, it made the all too familiar sounds; kch, kch, kch kch kch kch kvooom, I thought to myself I should really get this car checked out... Whatever, this is my piece of garbage hunting car anyways. After starting the car, I raced down the street with the speed of a diving peregrine falcon, leaving a gust of sand and dust behind me, Today is going to be a good day. I feel it. While driving around, I suddenly spotted a stranger. She was a tall and voluptuous woman, with golden hair that seemed to flow like water in the gentle summer breeze and leggings as tight as a painted on coating. Her sweater was a deep cherry red and her smile illuminated all of her surroundings. With an innocent wave, she gestured that she was a hitchhiker. I smiled back at her with my dimples raised, eyes twinkling, and nodded for her to hop in. Yes, she is the one. I thought. Hey, how are you? She asked. Good thanks, where re

He awaited the day of his execution for over 15 years. The day finally came. The execution of Wood began at exactly 1:52 MST. His death was supposed to be fast, painless, and most importantly, instantaneous. This did not actually happen that day. What was supposed to be a ten minute procedure, lasted over two whole excruciating, agonizing, two hour, of his life. The deadly drug cocktail that was injected into his body that

  • 9. Implants Persuasive Speech Considering Dentures? What You Should Know About Implants If your teeth are in bad shape and you re considering dentures, you might want to look into getting implants. You have a couple of options with implants. You can attach them to both plates, so the dentures are more stable, or you can attach them to only your bottom plates. Here are some things to know about how the implant process works. Why You Would Want Implants Dentures are a good alternative when you need to have all or most of your teeth removed. However, they can cause problems due to slipping. This makes it difficult to eat and speak. Implants eliminate this problem. When you have implants, the dentures snap right onto the rods that are implanted into your bone. This holds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This will give you a feel for wearing them and help the dentist decide exactly where you ll need the implants placed to hold the dentures securely. Sufficient Bone Mass Needed One problem that develops when you have missing teeth is that the bone in your jaw recedes. Your bone needs stimulation from teeth roots to stay strong and healthy. If you don t have enough bone, your dentist is unable to stabilize an implant. However, the dentist may be able to work around the problem by spacing the implants in such a way they are inserted in areas of healthy bone and avoid areas of recessed bone. Also, a bone graft may be considered. A graft increases the size of your bone, but since it is an additional procedure that requires time to heal, it prolongs the process of getting your implants. The Implant Process Even if you don t need to have a bone graft, it usually takes several months to get through the process of getting implant dentures. Depending on your situation and the dentist you choose, it might be possible to get the procedure done in a single visit. However, getting implants is usually a two step
  • 10. Tis But Thy Name That Is My Enemy Juliet from the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare says about Romeo, Tis but thy name that is my enemy. She claims that it is Romeo s name, Montague, that is her enemy, and not Romeo himself, although Romeo s name influenced who he was. Most of the time, names are given to people by their family members after they are born. However, there are also people who choose their own names. Most names have a meaning behind them. That meaning doesn t always represent who we are. In my case, my name has a story behind it. Everyone s names were chosen for a reason, even if that reason is insignificant. Before I was born, my mom and my dad knew they wanted me to have an Armenian name. They were considering many different names, some of which are hard for Americans to pronounce. For that reason, they narrowed the choices down to a couple names that were more simple. They wanted it to be easy for others to pronounce and spell. Those choices were Tamar, Maral, and Lilit. The night that they were driving to the hospital before I was born, they came across a deer on the road. Since Maral translates to deer in Armenian, they decided to name me that. Although I wasn t named after anyone in particular, the culture behind my name is important to me and my parents. Before asking my parents about it, I never knew that they wanted my name to be easy for others to pronounce. Compared to other names, my name was always difficult for my teachers and classmates to say correctly. In fact,
  • 11. The Invention Of Printing Press In 1440, for too many people was the year of change in the global communication. It was during this time in Mainz, Germany that a goldsmith s Johannes Gutenberg created one of the most important machines during the modern period: the printing press. The printing press was inspired by earlier uses found in China and Japan as early as the 7th century. In this time the way to print was using the method of block printing, which was a piece of wood used to print a specific piece of text. ( Patterns for ) With the Gutenberg invention the revolution had begun. It advanced the process of movable type further, and started a new era of printing called typography. Templates that were used on every page to create a mass production and look like a single work. ( User Interface ) The templates are essential in mobile design. It helps to the designer to create layouts based on cultural norms of reading and how people process information. The templates that are used across a product, on most every page of a website or application, we call a wrapper because they enclose (wrap around) all the other components and the content. Also there are some patterns based on how the human mind processes pattern, objects, and information. ( User Interface ) Scroll bars when information on a page exceeds the viewport, a scroll bar control may be required to access the additional information. Scrolling of information should almost always occur along one axis, except in rare cases. ( Patterns for ) The problem can be more information in the page or element than can fit in the viewport. You have to provide a method to access this information. The solution for mobiles will be to display them to indicate the scrollable axes, and the relative position within the scrollable area. Whenever possible, you should make sure scrolling takes place on a single axis. This is why the whole set of patterns based around vertical scroll exist. When the situation demands, such as for zooming in to content which otherwise fits the area, you can also offer a secondary scroll axis. Keep the secondary axis in mind throughout the design process because
  • 12. Speech On Perception There s many factors in life that makes us view the world in a certain way. Everybody has a different opinion about the world and everything around. In the article Perception can influence you in many ways , written by Bryan Golden. He said How do you see the world around you? Do you take action based on your needs and goals, or is your behavior dependent on how you feel others will view you? There are two types of perception; the way you see yourself and your world and the way others see you and their world. The only perception you have control over is your own. It is just not possible to control the perception of others. For example, consider the temperature of a room. You perceive a room as being comfortable while someone else thinks it s too cold. No amount of discussion or arguing will resolve the difference in perception. Our own behavior is influenced by how we feel we ll be perceived. Not only are we concerned with the perception of people we know and who are close to us, we are even sensitive to the perception of complete strangers. Therefore, we will alter or avoid any behavior we believe will be perceived as foolish. This causes us to alter our path to accommodate the perceptions of others. As a result, our goals are compromised or missed altogether. Ironically, people often have the same perception of you regardless of what you do. It s a complete waste of time to worry about the perceptions of others. Your best strategy is pursuing your own goals without

Executive Management, Board Of Directors In general, the corporations work towards meeting the end goal of adding value to its shareholders and/or stakeholders, but the way this value is added and who is given priority while adding this value depends on the perspectives (session1 slides) corporations choose to fulfill the objective of the given corporation. The story The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst shows how Doodle is like the Scarlet Ibis. Doodle and the Scarlet Ibis have many of the same conflicts and repeating actions in the story. In The Scarlet Ibis, Hurst develops the symbolism, which is shown through birds, death, and the colorredshows how fragile Doodle really is during his lifetime. One example of Hurst showing symbolism in the story is through birds. Doodle and the scarlet ibisare both graceless and very weak. The scarlet ibis tries to fly, but fails to do so. At that moment the bird began to flutter, but the wings were uncoordinated, and amid much flapping and a spray of feathers, it tumbled down, bumping through the limbs of the bleeding tree and landing at our feet with a thud (Hurst 321). Doodle is comparable to the scarlet ibis. He is very clumsy, and looked down upon by his family. They believed that he was not going to live. He is shown through the scarlet ibis because the bird is also very weak, like Doodle. They both have come over many obstacles to be alive. But still, you never know if something so little to you, could break something so fragile like a Scarlet Ibis. In the story after Doodle dies. It talks about how empty the house was. ...the oriole nest in the elm was untenanted and rocked back and forth like an empty cradle (Hurst 315). Now that the birds are gone and the tree is not occupied, it is like the empty cradle in the house now that Doodle is gone. He is shown through the birds. Doodle is just like the birds leaving their home. And now that Doodle is gone, it is a very empty sensation lingering in the home he once lived in. Doodle is symbolically a bird in the story the Scarlet Ibis because he is very weak and fragile, just like the bird. Hurst develops the idea of death, and it is symbolic towards Doodle and his family. The idea of death has come over Doodle s family. Doodle is the smell drifting across the cotton field into the room. The last graveyard flowers were blooming, and their smell drifted across the cotton field and through every room of our house, speaking softly the names of our dead

Her shop was now covered with flames. She stood there as her shop transformed to ashes. She needed to run or else she would be a pile of ashes herself. Running is exactly what she did. She ran to her fox friend Eliss who was at the waterfall as waiting for her. From what it looked like he was praying. Aria tapped him on the shoulder and screamed WE NEED TO GET FRIKKIN OUTA HERE! .They probably would have escaped to Trinn city if it wasn t for the mob of monsters surrounding the town gate. As they ran through the desert looking for safety Aria asked Eliss why were you praying back there at the waterfall? . Eliss replied with a sigh. Then a tear came running down his face followed by another. Finally he opened his mouth and said m my mom got torn from her bones, and eaten alive by one of the sand spiders. You should have heard her scream for mercy . Tears streamed down his red, furry, foxish face. After they stopped for a sip of water (from the water bottle Eliss found on the gravel road) they decided to camp out for the night under a large rock ahead. They awoke to a pig looking monster right above head. He was getting ready to devour us in a single bite. Eliss and Aria popped up and ran as fast as their
  • 39. Character Analysis Of Nicholas Kimble The most important trait all heroes must have is that their actions are for others, not for themselves, and they act selflessly. A hero recovers from their struggles determined to inspire others around them to be their best. Heroes can come in all different ages, races, genders, and personality types. There are many heroes around, even in everyday life. It could be a friend, a relative, even a coworker. In my case, it was my classmate Nick Kimble. Nicholas Kimble, also known as No Knees Nick, was born at home in a kiddie pool. From a young age he was interested in Latinand would draw detailed pictures of famous Greek scenes, not unlike the renaissance artists. Naturally, he pursued Latin in his high schoolcareer, which is where I met... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite his tragic past, Nick is persistence in his goal of aiding others. When it comes to allies, Nick is known for making oodles of friends. One of which is Natalie Shaner, who loves kids and takes Latin and Physics with him. Natalie tends not to speak to new people, but when Nick talks to her she can t stay quiet! Natalie describes him as, Seeing as... I know him well... he is like a child... However, I would... describe him as the brightest bulb in the box. Nick loves making new friends. It s rare to see him without a pal or two around and some even report a few ladies trailing behind him. Nick has no enemies. If someone dislikes him, Nick sits them down, gently yet firmly touching their shoulder, and asks them who hurt them. No one can resist immediately bursting into tears and crying into Nick s perfect arms. This is just one example of many in which No Knees Nick aids others generously. Nick s ultimate goal in life is to become a Feng Shui Consultant. To work towards that, he participates in many extracurricular activities to grow close to his peers and learn more about each individual s aura. Every Sunday after church, Nick spends his time volunteering at animal shelters. During the week, he is President of the Latin Club. He really puts effort into showing up, says Angela, a fellow Latin Club member. Over the summer, No Knees Nick dedicated his time to reading every Shakespeare play. He
  • 40. The Case Of Legal Drinking Age The final situation I have had concerning unclear boundaries involved me and a professor. This individual was someone I had grown to know and respect and took several courses under. The incident occurred after I had graduated from Western Carolina University with my bachelor s degrees while I was living in Cullowhee over the summer. I was invited to the professor s house along with another former student to eat dinner with him and his wife. While we were eating the meal, the professor gave me and the other student a glass of wine to go with dinner. Even though I was of legal drinking age and was no longer a student of the professor s, it felt strange to have a professor provide me alcohol. Also, I felt uncomfortable being in the professor s home since it was the first time I had socialized with a professor outside of a school environment. I later discussed the event with the other student to inquire if the situation also made her uncomfortable. The individual disclosed that she did not feel uncomfortable since this was not her first time having dinner with the professor and his wife. I did not talk about how this incident made me feel with my professor. The reason the boundaries were unclear in this situation was that there was a multiple relationship. I was now the professor s former student as well as an individual who had a social relationship with the professor. Unlike the two previous examples, I was not the individual with a position of power. Since the second person

Some were fire pumpers that moved by themselves, and other were small locomotives with road wheels. Beginning in the 1800Вґs, inventors tried very hard to make cars that would run enough to use every day. These experimental cars ran on steam, gasoline, or electricity. By the 1890 europeans were buying and driving cars made by Duryea, Haynes Winton, and others. A steam car burned fuel that heated water in a boiler. By 1905 gasoline cars were made more popular than steam electric cars because they were easier to use and could travel further without adding fuel . Karl Polanyi, a historical anthropologist at Comlumbia University, argued that market economies, private profit seeking, and capitalism were a peculiar and unnatural way of structuring an economy. (The Worlds History, Spodek, ch.12, p.375) Polanyi also discussed how back in ancient times, trading was meant to provide and benefit the whole society, not personal benefit like the free market economy was. Another historian, Philip Curtin, agreed with Polanyi is many ways; except that there was historical proof there was individual, personal trading going on in ports and throughout long distance routes back in the earliest times. (The Worlds History, Spodek, 2001, Ch. 12) Trade patterns in The South Americas included the Andes Mountains. By looking at the greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area there is a need to accommodate for future cities by employing community and regional design concepts. Content The future of living is cities. Somehow the ancients understood it, but Americans in the 1950s decided cities were a thing of the past. The movement from the city to the suburb has been one of the single most expensive cultural migrations in world history. There is much more than the initial cost of a house with a yard. There are the environmental costs that accumulate from the destruction of wildlife from both, building materials and the clearing of area for the physical house. This initial cost also does not account for the supermarkets, and roads needed to sustain life in these suburban areas separated into pods. What about the costs of a car needed for transportation in these metropolises, and all their external costs as well? Those are not accounted for either, but suburban living was the American Dream for nearly half a century. However, as the American Dream, and family models, change there is an evident need for living conditions to change as well. There is not a singular way to design a city, but

People not only need water for consumption, but also utilize it daily in several ways; this includes bathing, washing, sewage/waste, watering outdoors, etc. Water is essentially everywhere. Although access to water in the United States often seems so simple and easy, water is not always in the form people see coming out of the faucet. There are a variety of water sources on the Earth. Although from several sources, water has a distinguished cycle on the planet. Examining the water cycleand the sources of water on the earth can help bring a better understanding of water usage and available resources. According to the NASA Earth Observation, over 75% of the Earth s surface is made up of water (Graham, Parkinson, Chahine, 2010). The Earth s total water content is roughly 1.39 billion cubic kilometers, or 331 million cubic miles (Graham et al., 2010). As seen in Figure 1, there are a variety of categories the Earth s water can be broken up into. Over 96% of the Earth s water is made up of the five oceans (Graham et al., 2010). When examining water simply in terms of freshwater, most of the reservoir comes from glaciers and ice caps. By examining these percentages, a greater knowledge of the Earth s total water supply can be gained. These percentages can also be factored into the water cycle to better understand how water rotates through the Earth and the atmosphere. The water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle, describes

Superhero s today like Superman, Iron man, Spider man ect. all share qualities that make them heroic. Whether they have a special ability or they are just strong and brave people. Epic heroes and Medieval heroes are two heroes that have qualities that are different. Medieval heroes are brave, loyal, and gentlemanly while epic heroes are strong, brave, they possess non human qualities, and can be a little cocky. Every super heroin movies day possess some ability that makes them different from normal people just like epic heroes. Epic heroes seem to be more alike modern day heroes than the medieval heroes because their traits are very alike. Beowulfis a prime example of this because of his super strength which can be compared to modern day hero superman. Epic heroes are brave and strong characters that possess non human abilities and can also be a little cocky. Take Beowulf as an example, he is a character that is strong and does things that no regular person possesses while also being a little cocky. An example of him being able to do things other humans can do is when he is fighting Grendel. As he is fighting Grendel he ends the battle when he completely rips off his arm. He twisted in pain, and the bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder, snapped, muscle and bone split and broke, the battle was over Beowulf had been granted new glory (Source A). This
