Introduction
Gesture Controlled Robot is a robot which can be controlled by simple
Gestures. The user just needs to wear a Gesture device which includes a
sensor.
The robot and the Gesture device are connected wirelessly via radio
waves.
The sensor will record the movement of hand in a specific direction which
will result in the movement of the robot in the respective direction.

Gesture Recognition
Dr.Ambedekar Institute of Technology
for Handicapped , Awadhpuri, Kanpu,r
U.P-208024
 Gesture Recognition is to recognize specific human Gestures and
process them to control device. In Gesture recognition, the human
Gestures are transmitted via special glove or read by a
camera. The captured data is processed and used as an input to
handle Applications or Devices.
 Gesture Recognition is the process of understanding and
interpreting meaningful movements of the hands, arms, face, or
sometimes head.

Glove-Based

U.P-208024
 A Glove-Based Gesture Recognition system consists of glove
or sensors for data processing and power supply.
 Example, “Acceleglove” created
by George Washington University
translates American Sign
Language Gestures into text.

Vision-Based

Vision-Based techniques use visual inputs like camera to extract
the features to be used in the Gesture Recognition.
Example
 Kinect for Windows Applications
 Xbox Project Natal
6
Working Principle
Our Gesture Controlled robot works
on the Principle of Accelerometer
which records hand movements and
sends that data to the comparator
which assigns proper voltage levels to
the recorded movements.

U.P-208024
The Gesture Controlled Robot System gives an alternative way of
controlling robots. Gesture control being a more natural way of
controlling devices makes control of robots more efficient and easy.
In this proposed work, Wireless Gesture Control Robot is
successfully developed and implemented in real time environment.
This system is developed at low cost, low power and time. The
system provides better performance in the experimental setup.
Adding more accessories to the mobile robot and controlling it
using Gesture is also possible.
