Wireless communication transfers information between points not connected by electrical conductors using technologies like infrared, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, radio, and cell phones. It allows devices to exchange data wirelessly over short distances using radio waves. Wireless communication provides advantages like enhanced quick information sharing, improved productivity through mobile access to the internet, and ability to connect those in remote areas to medical centers. However, wireless networks also present security risks as hackers can easily intercept wireless signals without authorization. Strong security protocols and wireless intrusion prevention systems are needed to secure wireless communications.

We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

4. Wireless CommunicationTypes
The different types of wireless communication
technologies include :
• Infrared (IR) wireless communication
• Bluetooth
• Wi-fi
• Radio
• Cell Phone
5. Infrared (IR) wireless communication
IR wireless communication communicates data or information in devices or
systems through infrared (IR) radiation. Infrared is electromagnetic energy
at a wavelength that is longer than that of red light.
6.
7. Bluetooth Communication
Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short
distances (using short-wavelength radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to
2.485 GHz) from fixed and mobile devices, building personal area
networks (PANs). Invented by telecom vendor Ericsson in 1994, it was
originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data cables. It can
connect several devices, overcoming problems of synchronization.
8.
9. Wi-fi Communication
Wi-Fi, also spelled Wifi or WiFi, is a popular technology that allows an
electronic device to exchange data or connect to the
internet wirelessly using radio waves. The name is a trademark
name, and was stated to be a play on the audiophile term Hi-Fi.
TheWi-FiAlliance definesWi-Fi as any "wireless local area
network (WLAN) products that are based on the Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) 802.11
standards".However, since most modernWLANs are based on
these standards, the term "Wi-Fi" is used in general English as a
synonym for "WLAN".OnlyWi-Fi products that completeWi-Fi
Alliance interoperability certification testing successfully may use
the "Wi-FiCERTIFIED" trademark.
11. Radio Communication
• Radio is the wireless transmission of signals through free space by
electromagnetic radiation of a frequency significantly below that of visible
light, in the radio frequency range, from about 3 kHz to 300 GHz.These
waves are called radio waves. Electromagnetic radiation travels by means of
oscillating electromagnetic fields that pass through the air and the vacuum
of space.
12.
13. Cell Phone Communication
A mobile phone (also known as a cellular phone, cell phone, and a hand
phone) is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio
link while moving around a wide geographic area. It does so by connecting
to a cellular network provided by a mobile phone operator, allowing access
to the public telephone network. By contrast, a cordless telephone is used
only within the short range of a single, private base station.
14.
15. Advantage Of Wireless Communication
Wireless communication has the following advantages:
i. Communication has enhanced to convey the information quickly to
the consumers.
ii. Working professionals can work and access Internet anywhere and
anytime without carrying cables or wires wherever they go.This also
helps to complete the work anywhere on time and improves the
productivity.
iii. Doctors, workers and other professionals working in remote areas
can be in touch with medical centres through wireless communication.
iv. Urgent situation can be alerted through wireless communication.
The affected regions can be provided help and support with the help
of these alerts through wireless communication.
v. Wireless networks are cheaper to install and maintain.
16. Disadvantage Of Wireless Communication
The growth of wireless network has enabled us to use
personal devices anywhere and anytime. This has
helped mankind to improve in every field of life but this
has led many threats as well.
Wireless network has led to many security threats to
mankind. It is very easy for the hackers to grab the
wireless signals that are spread in the air. It is very
important to secure the wireless network so that the
information cannot be exploited by the unauthorized
users. This also increases the risk to lose information.
Strong security protocols must be created to secure the
wireless signals like WPA andWPA2. Another way to
secure the wireless network is to have wireless intrusion
prevention system.
