 A Wire rope is an imp. Item of engineering
materials in mining & many other engineering
industries.
 It is use for transmit the power over long distan
from one pully to another.
exm: - mine hoist , cranes etc.

1.Standing ropes :
• Carry the burden or load but are more or
less stationary.
2 .Running ropes :
•Have to undergo frequent movement or running
often with varying loads.
Exp. :- guide rope,bucket supporting
ropes etc.
Exp. :- in winding , haulage , CCM, excavators
cranes etc.

1.Stranded ropes :
Construction :-
•Built up of strands and each strand consist of concentrically twisted wire
• these ropes are made by twisting thin metal wires which increases the stren
of the rope.
