Teenage years are more crucial in terms of both physical and mental development. The fitness habits a teenager develops are likely to last a lifetime. Recent studies have shown that exercise can be beneficial to a teen's overall health while enhancing a positive body image.
Exercise is the activity that results in contraction of skeletal muscle. The term is usually used in reference to any activity that promotes physical fitness. Although muscle contraction is the common element of all forms of exercise, many other organs and systems are affected, for example, the heart and lungs. Many people also find that regular exercise enhances their sense of mental well-being along with their general physical health. The importance of exercise in contributing to health is mentioned in this presentation.
The importance of physical fitness cannot be emphasized enough. In today’s society that is moving towards a more sedentary lifestyle, there is a greater need than ever to increase the daily activity level to maintain both cardiovascular fitness and body weight.

5 Best Cardio Exercises You Can Do at Home to Burn Fat.pdfSumaira Hanif
People do not need a lot of equipment for cardiovascular exercise. Instead, they can take part in cardio training at home by working on their own body weight.
The following exercises allow a person to perform cardio almost anywhere, such as in their home, public park, or outdoor space.
People can choose the exercises that suit their current fitness level. They could also move on to more difficult movements over time as their fitness improves.
The following are calorie-burning exercises that a person can do at home with minimal equipment.
These exercises can form a cardiovascular exercise program.
For example, a person could do each exercise for 45 seconds to 1 minute, rest for 30 seconds, and move on to the next set.
As their fitness levels increase, people may wish to perform these exercises in circuits.
To perform circuits, a person completes 30–60 second rounds of each chosen exercise in succession before resting for 30–60 seconds. They then perform the entire course again, as many times as they prefer.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. • Exercise doesn't just strengthen your muscles, it
also strengthens your heart and bones, lowers your
blood pressure and of course, reduces your body
fat. Exercise boosts energy. ... Regular physical
activity can improve your muscle strength and
boost your endurance. Exercise delivers oxygen
and nutrients to your tissues and helps your
cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And
when your heart and lung health improve, you have
more energy to tackle daily chores.
3. BE CHALLENGED
• If you’re looking for a fitness challenge, look no further!
The Goodlife 12 Week Challenge and shorter 8 Week
Challenge both offer a targeted exercise and nutrition
program to help you achieve long-term and life-changing
results. Goodlife gyms also have one of the biggest group
fitness class offerings including 30 minute functional
workout class - Emily Skye Ignite and the latest fitness
trend fusing Pilates, yoga and dance - Bootybarre.
4. SELF MOTIVATION
• You either love exercise or you
have to drag yourself along to
get it done! If you’re one of the
latter, heading to the gym and
being around others who are in
the same situation as you can be
just the incentive and motivation
you need to keep going. You
might even find yourself
converting into an exercise lover
when you’re heading to the gym
on a more regular basis, hitting
your fitness goals and seeing
results on the inside and out
5. Reduce stress
One of the most common mental benefits of
exercise is stress relief. Working up a sweat can
help manage physical and mental stress. Exercise
also increases concentrations of norepinephrine, a
chemical that can moderate the brain’s response to
stress. So go ahead and get sweaty — working out
can reduce stress and boost the body’s ability to
deal with existing mental tension.
6. Sharpen memory
• Regular physical activity boosts memory
and ability to learn new things. Getting
sweaty increases production of cells in
hippocampus responsible for memory and
learning . For this reason, research has
linked children’s brain development with
level of physical fitness (take that, recess
haters!). But exercise-based brainpower
isn’t just for kids. Even if it’s not as fun as
a game of Red Rover, working out can
boost memory among grown-ups, too. A
study showed that running sprints
improved vocabulary retention among
healthy adults .
7. Boost brainpower
• Various studies on mice and men have shown that
cardiovascular exercise can create new brain cells
(aka neurogenesis) and improve overall brain performance .
Ready to apply for a Nobel Prize? Studies suggest that a tough
workout increases levels of a brain-derived protein (known
as BDNF) in the body, believed to help with decision making,
higher thinking, and learning. Smarty (spandex) pants, indeed.
8. Boost happy chemicals
• Exercise releases endorphins, which create
feelings of happiness and euphoria. Studies have
shown that exercise can even alleviate symptoms
among the clinically depressed . For this reason,
docs recommend that people suffering
from depression or anxiety (or those who are just
feeling blue) pencil in plenty of gym time. In some
cases, exercise can be just as effective as
antidepressant pills in treating depression.
9. Improve self-confidence
• On a very basic level,
physical fitness can
boost self-esteem and
improve positive self-image.
Regardless of weight, size,
gender, or age, exercise can
quickly elevate a person's
perception of his or her
attractiveness, that is, self-
worth .
10. Increase relaxation
• Ever hit the hay after a long run or weight session at the gym? For
some, a moderate workout can be the equivalent of a sleeping pill,
even for people with insomnia . Moving around five to six hours
before bedtime raises the body’s core temperature. When the body
temp drops back to normal a few hours later, it signals the body that
it’s time to sleep .
11. Inspire others
• Whether it’s a pick-up game of
soccer, a group class at the gym, or
just a run with a friend, exercise
rarely happens in a bubble. And that’s
good news for all of us. Studies show
that most people perform better on
aerobic tests when paired up with a
workout buddy . Pin it to inspiration
or good old-fashioned competition,
nobody wants to let the other person
down. In fact, being part of a team is
so powerful that it can actually raise
athletes’ tolerances for pain . Even
fitness beginners can inspire each
other to push harder during a sweat
session, so find a workout buddy and
get moving!
12. The Importance of Nutrition
• Eat protein to support your muscle mass. Protein is made up of amino
acids that help with cellular function and muscle repair. Healthy carbs
provide superior fuel for hard workouts and well-defined muscle.
There is a difference between good and bad carbohydrates and
nutrient dense carbs are recommended.
13. IS SUPPLEMENTS GOOD FOR
HEALTH?
• Usually it is best to try to get these
vitamins and minerals and nutrients from
food as opposed to supplements,. Fruits,
vegetables, fish, and otherhealthy foods
contain nutrients and other substances
not found in a pill, which work together to
keep us healthy.
14. WHY SUPPLEMENTS ARE
IMPORTANT?
• A healthful, balanced diet supplies
the body with sufficient nutrients to
carry out routine
tasks. Supplements such as vitamins,
minerals, essential fatty acids,
phytochemicals, and more enrich the
body's internal environment to fortify
cellular protection, repair, and
regeneration and support the
Renewal process.
15. DISADVANTAGES OF STEROIDS
• Many people had complained about mood disturbances that
includes aggression, depression and mania.
• The steroids can harm your central nervous system and you
may be at high risk of psychosis.
• The risk of cardiovascular diseases like heart failure,
jamming of blood vessels, valve malfunctioning can occur.
