Fishing, Celebes Sea, By The Sea
Fishing, Celebes Sea
In the middle of the ocean, all that can be seen is miles and miles of the alluring ocean. The color of
the waves are a spectacular mix of a light green, an astonishing teal, and the amazing darkness of the
blue. The tides lightly brushing against the welcoming homes of all the nice people. In the small boat
ahead contains an innocent child with his mother outside what can only be their house. The pleasant
subtlety of the sea breeze peacefully floating in the air causes relaxation that cannot be helped.
If you look up you can see the beautiful sky extending as far as the eye can see. The clouds soaring
into the distance beautifly. The mountains in the distance, elegantly sitting in the distance. The birds
chirping their song in mid day. This place gives a sense of Everything that can be seen is beautiful.
The wind blows constantly, causing sea mist to blow in the faces of the fishermen. Underneath the
boat is the clear, blue water with fish swimming, clueless, without a care in the world. The air has the
taste of salt and freshly caught fish. And the The smell is unmistakeable, with a hint of seaweed. In the
distance, great hills covered by clouds can be seen. Houses gather close by above the water. People
could almost say that the houses are floating. Millions of people gather in small boats, waiting
patiently for the single movement of their fishing wire. Every once in awhile, someone s laughter can
be heard above the sound of the small,

Islam In America Research Paper
Islam, the world s fastest growing religion and America s third largest faith, continues to prosper at
unprecedented rates. However, despite its growth and prominence in today s society, Muslims in
America continue to be denied a basic right to practice their religion. Throughout the year, there are
two major Islamic holidays that take place: Eid al Fitr and Eid al Adha. Christianity and Judaism, the
religious frontrunners in the U.S., already have several national observances set in place. It is time that
Islam, a religion that will soon surpass Judaism and nearly equal the Christian faith, also gains the
right to observe a national holiday(s).
For this reason, we, the Muslim people of the United States, are asking Congress to make the two

Elgin Marbles Research Paper
Learning Activity 1
The Elgin Marbles is the common name for an extensive collection of the Ancient Greek sculpture
which has been on display in the British Museum since the early 1800s. The collection includes 75
meters (247 feet) of the original 160 metre (524 foot) frieze from the Parthenon temple in Athens. The
frieze is the highly decorative section above the columns in classical Greek architecture. The
collection is controversial because of its namesake the seventh Earl of Elgin removed the treasures
from Greece with the permission of the Ottomans, who occupied Greece from the mid 15th century
until 1821. For decades, the Greeks have called for the priceless artifacts return, but the British
Museum defends its ownership as legitimate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those Marbles are Greek and belong to Greece, and not to who stole them. The Parthenon Marbles,

Bruce, (Earl of Elgin). Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire from 1799 until 1803 and again in Britain

Amory Blaine In F. Scott Fitzgerald s This Side Of Paradise
A significant part of F. Scott Fitzgerald s This Side of Paradise describes the time that the main
character, Amory Blaine, has spent at Princeton University. Through the portrayal of the several
characters, the novel shows that the years spent at Princeton either turned the students into a
homogenous mass or, on the contrary, prompted them to deviate from the crowd. A typical student
from the novel can most likely be described as a Princeton slicker (51). The slickers are predominantly
smart, well dressed and successful, but what truly draws the line between them and the other students
is the slickers sense of social values (40), or, in other words, their snobbishness. The very structure of
the college, with its clubs and societies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The word conventionalize seems to fully capture the negative impact that the college may have on one
s core values, as later Tom himself is accused of being conventionalized (126) when Amory Blaine
thinks he is no longer standing against people (126). Amory, too, becomes disillusioned with the idea
of being a slicker , and this is reflected in the nonchalance he develops towards all of the student
organizations and in a shift in the objects of his admiration. As a freshman and a sophomore, Amory
was fascinated by of Dick Hornby, a perfect type of aristocrat (78) with an air of elegance and style.
As an upperclassman, however, Amory grew fond of Burne Holiday, an enthusiastic pacifist and
socialist who seemed too eccentric to the rest of the college community. Unlike Dick Hornby, who
attracted Amory s attention merely because of the impression he made in public, Burne Holiday
strucks Amory because of his intense earnestness (117) and the unique path he chose to follow. This
change in Amory s values thus proves that, in time, he, too, has overgrown the snobbishness and
superficiality of the Princeton s student community and became more

Uncertainty, Fear And Communication In The Bath By Raymond...
In The Bath by Raymond Carver we have the theme of conflict, uncertainty, helplessness, fear and
communication. Taken from his What We Talk About When We Talk About Love collection the story
is narrated in the third person by an unnamed narrator and is an early version of another Carver short
story (A Small, Good Thing). One of the most striking things about the beginning of the story is that it
becomes clear to the reader that Carver may be exploring the theme of communication (or the lack of
it). Ann Weiss is in a baker s shop ordering a cake for her son Scotty s birthday. Though she tells the
baker, who remains unnamed throughout the story, what she is looking for the baker says very little,
assuring Ann that she has told him everything he needs to know. The baker s reassurance is important
because in some ways it is the only time in the story in which Ann (or her husband) are assured that
everything is okay. At no other stage in the story is there a sense, particularly for Ann that things are or
will be okay (when it comes to Scotty s condition). If anything Ann remains uncertain throughout the
story as to what will happen Scotty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

friend to tell him what he has bought him for his birthday however his friend doesn t say anything.
Also after Scotty has been hit by the car, his friend asks him what it was like to be hit by a car but
Scotty doesn t answer his friend. Again the idea of a lack of communication. There are further
instances in the story in which there is a lack of communication. There is the instance in where Ann
tells the technician I don t understand this, when the technician starts to take Scotty s blood. Ann (as
anyone would) expects some explanation from the technician but it is not forthcoming. He continues
without discussion or explanation, to take Scotty s

enables companies to consume compute resources as a utility just like electricity rather than having to
build and maintain computing infrastructures in house. 1) Cloud computing promises several attractive
benefits for businesses and end users. Seven of the main benefits of cloud computing include: 2) Self
service provisioning: End users can spin up computing resources for almost any type of workload on
demand. Elasticity: Companies can scale up as computing needs increase and then scale down again
as demands decrease. Pay per use: Computing resources are measured at a granular level, allowing
users to pay only for the resources and workloads they use. Private cloud and Hybrid cloud: Among
the numerous motivations for utilizing cloud, there are two circumstances where associations are
investigating approaches to evaluate a percentage of the applications they mean to convey into their
surroundings using a cloud (particularly an open cloud). While on account of test and improvement it
might be restricted in time, embracing a hybrid cloud approach considers testing application

Failure Philosophy
Let your failure be your motivation to success. Winona Bhushan. Why is failure the key to everything?
When climbing a tree, you are bound to fall until you learn from your mistakes. Anything below a
hundred percent grade on any given task is failure. These are just two of infinite possibilities of
failing. Failure is the result of an action to put it bluntly. There are three poems to help understand this
philosophy even further. These include the poem Caged Bird written by the poet, Maya Angelou,
Mother To Son, written by the poet, Langston Hughes, and last but certainly not least, The Road Not
Taken, written by Robert Frost. The works of literature listed above all revolve around each other in a
special way. In each scenario, one reflects on their past in an indirect way of speaking about their
decisions or actions. Though, the real question is, how does failure affect these three individuals, and
how they did they move past it, or through it? When one feels caged, they are feeling as though they
are trapped in their own negative feelings, telling themselves that because of their past failures, they
can only talk about how they can t accomplish anything. This is the case in the poem, Caged Bird, by
Maya Angelou, in which it states, The free bird thinks of another breeze / and the trade winds soft
through the sighing trees / and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn / and he names the sky his
own(Angelou) This means that the free bird, who may be described as someone who has it all, or has
had little to no experience with devastating failure. On the other hand, the poem states, But a bird that
stalks / down his narrow cage / can seldom see through his bars of rage / his wings are clipped / and
his feet are tied / so he opens his throat to sing. (Angelou) This differentiates from the free bird,
because the caged bird is described as one who is being restricted into his own limits, basically. One
of the things holding him back is his own experiences, while the free bird wonders what is on the
other end of the spectrum, as he is handed fat worms and is greeted by soft winds. The poem written
by Maya Angelou is supposed to show perspective, on one end the bird is thought of as free, with no

when his uncle Scar, murders King Mufasa for his own greed for the crown. Scar makes it so that
Simba was responsible for his father death and tells him to run away from the kingdom. Scar tells the
kingdom that Simba and Mufasa were killed in the stampede and since he is the only male heir that he

While, men are strong and independent. All the lions who have ruled Pride Rock, Mufasa, Scar and
Simba are all males. Nala has pinned Simba on the ground both through playing as well as in a real
struggle. It was one of the few times the film broke from stereotypical gender roles. The films overall
portrayal of lionesses as very stereotypical and not promoting a message of equality. In one of scene,
the hyenas are starving and Scar immediately blames the women. The only thing the makes lionesses
slightly stronger than lions is hunting, but, the lionesses are ordered by the lions to do the hunting,
does not show much independence. After Mufasa s death, and Scar s making himself king, the
lionesses had a chance to defeat Scar if they wanted to. Mufasa helps Simba perfect his hunting
pounce, which shows the stereotypical father son activities. Which in fact should be his mother
because lionesses are the actual hunter in the family. After Simba s father died, when he was very
young, Simba runs away and grows up without his mother. Nala and Sarabi are shows bathing their
children. When Simba grows up, he looks exactly like Mufasa, showing that muscular and powerful
males will triumph

The Alchemist Symbolism
An Analysis of Mirage Symbolism In The Alchemist Paulo Coelho s The Alchemist tells the story of
Santiago, a young shepherd living in an abandoned church in a small Andalusian town, who is
stripped of his comfortable and safe lifestyle after an encounter with Melchizedek, an Islamic king
who tells him of his Personal Legend (21). Melchizedek points Santiago in the direction of his treasure
only after taking one tenth of his money, giving him two stones, and a lesson on reading omens.
Throughout his journey, Santiago meets new friends, has everything stolen from him three times, and
travels the vast and unknown Sahara Desert all while achieving personal growth and an understanding
of his life s meaning. His journey leads him to an Oasis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being promised a guide to the pyramids and a short travel period he was instead left alone and
without money. What had minutes beforehand seemed like a perfect way to his treasure was now only
an empty promise. Soon after, Santiago is forced to work for a crystal merchant in the hopes of
replacing his lost money and continuing on his quest. He works for the merchant for eleven months
and during this time, continues to think less and less of his Personal Legend. He becomes skilled in
this practice and begins to work towards instead, replacing his flock of sheep and returning to his past
lifestyle. During this time, Santiago perceived reaching the pyramids as an impossible feat claiming
Egypt was now just a distant dream for him and that, like a mirage, it would always be just out of his
reach (56). In this way, Coelho shows that Santiago s morale is lessening. The more that he stays at the
crystal shop, the more he sees his treasure as a mirage instead of a physical object. Not only can the
boy s journey be related to mirages, so to can his relationship with Fatima. He first meets her at the
oasis by the water well. They next day he returns and tells her that he loves her. From there he begins
to tell her of his life as a shepherd and his search for treasure. Fatima listens patiently for a month and
then finally tells Santiago her true feelings for him. She explains that she is a woman of the desert and

Importance Of The Depth Of Field
What if we end up in an area that has an abundance of distracting elements and we are unable to find a
vantage point to obscure these items through composition? If are fortunate enough to be in possession
of a telephoto lens, perhaps a 70 200mm, we can adjust the aperture to a small f/number such as f/2.8
or f/4.0 and use the lens near the 200mm end of its range and with the narrow depth of field make
these distractions disappear as soft out of focus colors and shapes. Thereby placing more emphasis on
our subject.
On the opposite end of the scale, what if we want a foreground element in focus along with the
railroad in the background as it passes through a scene we have framed up with a desire to capture? If
we should have a wide angle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I stood and surveyed the scene, I observed people of all ages, walking, jogging and cycling along
through here. Some even stopping for a bit to enjoy the view.
And with the use of depth of field, I could tell this story. I had my 24 70mm lens already mounted
from earlier usage on this day and I set up my tripod and camera in such a way to frame with two
posts anchoring the edges of my frame. With it being afternoon, the sun would be backlighting the
leaves from camera left, causing them to glow, and slivers of dappled light would play across the
decking of the bridge. This was foreground interest that gave context to my location and photograph. I
chose a focus point based on using what is known as Hyperlocal Distance. Which in the simplest
terms possible means that for any given focal length and aperture, there is a distance that when
focused at will see the entire scene rendered acceptably sharp.
Having my smartphone with me, I looked up what the Hyperlocal Distance for the 32mm focal length
that my framing choice and aperture of f/8 dictated from online charts readily available to determine
Hyperlocal Distance. The charts cover both full frame and crop sensor cameras and numerous focal
lengths and after checking the data for my crop sensor camera, I selected to focus at 25 feet and than
took a test shot. The LCD preview showed I had acceptable

Pelagic Shark Evolution
Transformations in marine ecosystems produced by the functional elimination of apex predators,
recently due to the increasing scale of human exploitation of the sea, can derive in complex and
unpredictable consequences. As a consequence, it is expected a presumably increase of their prey
populations, many of them secondary predators, with severe cascade down effects on the food webs
(Baum et al. 2003, Myers et al. 2007, Dulvy et al. 2008). Hence, the management and conservation of
wide range predators such as pelagic sharks becomes highly necessary, yet extremely difficult due to
fast changes in their population dynamics as well as their high mobility often in open oceans beyond
countries jurisdiction zones (Dulvy et al. 2008, Sims 2010). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It prefers relatively cool waters between 7 and 16 °C with an epipelagic distribution from the surface
to at least 350m (Compagno 2001, Ebert and Stehmann 2013). Following a great interest in the study
of this shark s ecology, during the last decades mark recaptured and tagging studies have documented
that blue sharks use currents as the Gulf Stream and the Atlantic North Equatorial Current to perform
regular trans Atlantic migrations, generally showing sexual segregation in their populations. The
North eastern Atlantic population consists primarily of immature individuals, while adult males
occupy more western NA Latitudes and adult females migrate to southern tropical latitudes upon

What Happens To A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes Essay
During the Harlem Renaissance, many look towards big cities to pursue their dreams. Langston
Hughes, a famous poet, knew how important dreams were and he saw dreams crumble during his
times. Dreams are a big deal in life because people set dreams to give themselves hope. When their
dreams crumble, their spirits die as well because they have nothing else to strive for. In Harlem,
Hughes uses vivid imagery and similes to illustrate how dreams deferred upset and defeat the human
spirit inside one s self. Hughes starts his poem with the rhetorical question what happens to a dream
deferred (line 5)? He then offers a series of responses towards the question, to remind the world how
important dreams are to the human spirit. In each response, Hughes ... Show more content on

The mention of the raisin in the sun (line 3) makes the reader picture a dry shriveled raisin lying in the
sun. After that Hughes states whether a denied dream fester like a sore (line 4). Here the readers
picture a nasty running sore, which coveys the consequences of deferred dreams. Hughes then asks if
dreams stink like rotten meat (line 6). This description makes the readers sense the rotten smell of
meat, which is not a pleasant smell. Next he says dreams are a heavy load (line10). This image makes
one think of a person carrying hard work by themselves, without anybody s help. They are so
exhausted that they drop the load and put it away for now. People tend to put their dreams away and
once their put away it s hard to pick them back up. They tend to not have the same drive or
momentum they had once before. To conclude this poem, Hughes ask the final question whether a
dream just explode (line 11). This is a very strong and bold word to compare a dream to because
explode means the end. This verb makes the readers picture and hear the sound of a bomb exploding.
This is the final step of a dream crumbling because once one have gone through so much, they can no
longer contain themselves. This leaves their human spirit empty and

Biological Effects from Exposure to Second-Hand Smoke
Recently, there has been a lot of up to date evidence dealing with biological effects from exposure to
second hand smoke. A lot of people aren t educated about this topic, but second hand smoke can harm
someone almost as much as someone who actually smokes, depending on how often he/she is around
it. Young children are a huge target for this subject because many biological and medical researchers
have found second hand smoke causing lifetime damage, and many other negative effects to children
as they grow. Smoking bans in certain areas around the world has caused the number of children s
hospital visits for asthma to drop significantly (Louis 1). Children are also greatly affected by second
hand smoke and some parents do not realize the harm that they are causing to their young children.
Young children are growing fast and their lungs are also growing very fast and second hand smoke
can seriously damage their lungs temporarily or even permanently. Children can t walk away from
second hand smoke, either because they are too young to walk or their parents won t let them. When
children are riding in the back of a car and an adult decides they want to smoke, the child or children
have no other choice but to breathe in the thick, chemical filled smoky air. 16 percent of the world s
population is covered by comprehensive smoke free laws, and 40 percent of children worldwide are
routinely exposed to second hand smoke (Louis 2). With the research that is found, if that 40 percent

Room Vision Board Analysis
I have come up with quite a few money saving options to transform your nursery, playroom, child s
bedroom or ever you teenagers lair into a wonderful, custom space that they ll never want to leave! To
get started you must know what your budget is; with some of these tips no budget it too small. Next,
have a feel for what your child likes or what kind of space you want to create ; have an idea going into
it. If you don t, then start digging for new fresh ideas. Pick a theme if you want. Themes can be
anything, a print( Chevron, paisley, Moroccan) , one or more of your favorite colors, a Disney
character, the sea, dinosaurs, construction... The ideas are endless. You just have to choose something
that fits your child s likes needs! I recommend starting a room vision board; your child can help! Go
through old magazines, paint swatches, images on the internet looking for things they like. Cut them
out or print out the images glue them done on a paper This could be anything a specific color , storage
ideas, a theme, a pattern... anything that stands out to the person whom the room is for. Then, cut them
out or print out the images glue them down on a paper or pin it to a board. This creation of a visual
idea collage will become the blueprint that the room is based on. Once this is done decide what things
to can repurpose or make yourself. Even if it s a few things, making it yourself from the heart is
ALWAYS better than buying. If you do need to buys some item always shop around! If you find

Closed Fracture
The skeletal system is made up of 206 bones and provides support, allows for movements and protects
the internal organs of the body. Sometimes, too much pressure is applied to the bones that results to
what we know as fracture. Fractures are often classified as either open or closed. An open fracture is a
fracture where a piece of a broken bone pierces through the skin. This can be dangerous because the
bone is exposed, increasing the risk of infection. A closed fracture is a fracture where the bone is
broken but does not come through the skin. A compression fracture is a close fracture that occurs
when two or more bones are forced against each other. It commonly occurs to bones at the spine and
maybe caused by falling into a standing or sitting position or a result of an advanced osteoporosis.
Plan of Management
Rehabilitative exercises and proper diet are the two thing involved in managing fractures and back

Very simple. All you have to do is pay careful attention to your fitness and daily routine. Having
proper warm ups before going over your reps can help prevent such condition. In order to prevent
bone loss or bone degradation, taking your preventive regiments like vitamin D, calcium and
biphosphonate supplements is medically advised by most doctors.
Warning
Any type of bone fracture, whether it is serious or not so serious, needs proper and immediate medical
attention. The moment you experience recurring back pain, consulting your doctor is also essential to
accurately and immediately determine the cause and identify proper treatment/s. If you have
experienced back pain which runs down the legs, which also comes along with numbness and tingling
sensations, might as well consult your doctor. These are just a few of the common flags of possibly

The Virtue Of Order By The Reaction From The Crowd
I was disappointed not only by the difficulty of adhering to the moral virtues, but also by the reaction
from the crowd. I have now experienced the world differently, and should hope to be more fit to
follow the virtues. I have grown older, and the the world has too, so it is logical that the virtues I
mentioned previously should need to be modified.
Many virtues such as Sincerity and Cleanliness, two moral virtues which I had no trouble
accomplishing the previous time, remain applicable today. However, the virtue of Order was a bit
troublesome, so I have decided to morph it into the virtue of Planning, for one cannot, however
frustratingly, obtain complete control over the will of another. Planning in combination with
Resolution seem to account for Order. Temperance and Moderation have been combined into just
Moderation for they were awfully similar in my first experiment. I have decided to keep the other
virtues, with new meanings which ought to do a better job at describing each one then previously, and
a more lengthy explanation as to why the definition has been changed in the way it has.
The revised virtues, the new precept, and my explanation of the change are now:
Moderation Compromise by finding the middle ground; avoid the extreme. This is a mixture of
Temperance and the original Moderation virtues. I feel satisfied with their original definitions, but I
think they were too similar. This new definition takes the better half of each definition to try to be

Computerized Technology Influenced The Stage And Lighting...
Question: To what extent has the advancement of computerized technology influenced the stage and
lighting design of theatre Introduction: Theatre has come a long way from when it first started with
regard to the set designs of the plays and musicals. When the sets were first designed the props would
either stay on the stage as a permanent structure the whole time or you needed to have the stage crew
come out and move the props and scenery. Now with the advancement of technology you can program
a computer to move the objects and scenery on the stage instead of having people move each of the
objects. This helps to give the plays more of a realist feeling because the play feels like it flows like
life does without the interruption of people coming out to change the stage or having to use ropes to
move the set. Two men that have lived through and worked as the times are changing are Bob
Crowley and Tony Walton. These two men are both current set designers and they have both lived
through the transition from having people move the set to now having it controlled by computers.
Both of these men have designed numerous shows and have won countless awards for their
outstanding work at designing the set for every play they do. Background information: Bob crowley

Special Effects Makeup Artists
Many of the aspiring special effects make up artists begin their careers by seeking low paying jobs as
an intern or assistant to train with a more experienced artist. Whether they pursue training they must
still have a keen eye when it comes to the usage of colors. The most important tool for a special
effects make up artist to have is their personality. This is of up most importance due to the ability to
network and maintain positive work relations with other professionals in this field and it is the
difference between success and failure. Special effects makeup artist help to create a seamless
connection between the live actors/actresses and the fantasy around them. Their job is to not only
make an actor/actress look more beautiful, but in most cases it is used to make them appear scary and
beat up looking or even inhuman. Artists in this position must answer to both the costume designer
and special effects department. The main difference between a makeup artist and a special effects
makeup artist is that special effects are used to bring to life the three dimensional vision of the director
and production team. Methods such as sculpting, painting, and drawing are used to help communicate
ideas. Prospective employers look for skill, detail oriented, realistic, and of the highest quality. The

The Ice Hotel And The Travelodge
Introduction
For a long time researchers are trying to find the perfect recipe for success, however it is very hard to
predict the response of the market to a new product and its adaptation to the environment. The Ice
Hotel and the Travelodge are two ventures established in the end of 20th century both in the travel and
hospitality sector but each one with its own unique business strategy. In evaluation of their success the
decisions made throughout the development of the above mentioned ventures can be categorized as
effectual and causal, as explained by Sarasvathy (2010). G.Sanvikarja suggests that causational logic
is more rational and based on prediction where as the effectual strategy is more creative and is control
orientated. Each of these approaches implies different strategies and reasoning behind both individual
decisions and responsiveness to the environment. Furthermore, most enterprises follow a set of
common principles that are key for building a business strategy including defining means, setting
affordable loss, leveraging contingencies and forming partnerships (S. et. al, 2010). These four aspects
are crucial for understanding how is a business created and what is its approach. However, it should be
noted that most of the businesses are not strictly effectual or causal, rather a mixture of both with a tilt
towards one. Every business is individual and should be treated like one. This paper will examine the
business strategies behind the Ice Hotel and the

QRS Syndrome Analysis
As shown in Figure 1, the P wave is a result of atrial depolarization. The QRS complex is a result of
ventricular depolarization, and thus ventricular contraction, as well as atrial repolarization
simultaneously. The T wave represents repolarization of ventricles and thus relaxation. The delay
between the P wave and the QRS complex is known as the PQ interval or the PR interval. During this
interval, the atria contract and begin to relax, and the ventricles contract at the end of this delay
(VanPutte et al., 2014). This time of this interval is important for determining many heart conditions,
such as an atrial blockage, as it measures the time of onset of ventricular contraction after the atria
contracts. If this time period is too long, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Heart rate begins to increase during exercise because in order to produce energy for contraction, the
working leg muscles require more oxygen. When the subject increased exercise, the heart was beating
faster to get oxygen to these cells and to circulate the blood back to the lungs to get rid of carbon
dioxide. During exercise, the body needs more than the normal cardiac output, due to increased
demand for oxygen. Thus the heart is beating harder to get blood to the body and this leads to an
increase in MAP in the vessels as well. The heart ejects a greater volume of blood with each stroke
and in turn, this creates a higher mean arterial pressure. Ultimately, an increase in heart rate leads to an
increase in cardiac output which both work together to meet the body s oxygen demands (cardiac
output= stroke volume x heart rate). As shown in both figures 4a and 4b, a plateau was reached
because the body was performing at its maximum at that point. This may not be reflective of
maximum heart rate as the body may have been able to reach a higher HR and MAP, but this was the
hardest the body was working during this exercise. During recovery, both HR and MAP begin to fall,
because oxygen demand to the muscles decrease as the working muscles begin to slow down. In
Figure 4b, there is a slight

Introduction When people think of the American Prairie, they think of a dull, and grassy full biome.
But, the American Prairie is an extremely fascinating biome. At first glance, this grassy biome may
look really dull and boring, but if you look deeper into it and feel nature playing its daily roles in this
prairie around you, then you will see how unique this biome is.
Location
The American Prairie is usually located at mid latitudes, such as the middle of North America.
Covered with grasses and numerous wild flowers, this area of land is huge. On the American prairie,
trees grow that well, due to the lack of not too much rain. But, there are still some trees, and if they are
there, they are regularly scattered very far apart. The American Prairie is located from the Great Plains
to southern Texas and Mexico that forms an area that looks like a triangle. This ... Show more content

Currently, this biome is experiencing a lot of human impact that affects the environment greatly. The
increased agricultural use of soil has created erosion, and its quality is going down. This is causing the
Bison and Pronghorn that live on the prairie to become almost extinct. The American Prairie grassland
is disappearing due to dividing up the land for farming and urban development. Dividing up the land
for farming is bad because the animals of the grasslands don t have any way to move around. Prairie
animals are also being endangered. When the prairie grassland is converted into cropland, it reduces
the food source for many wild animals. This can lead to migration or possibly the starvation of the
animals. Hundreds of animals have been hunted for valuable body parts. Also, bison have been hunted
for their meat. This caused animals to near extinction. Humans have also done much more damage to
this biome,

Argumentative Essay On Indiana House Elections
With the 2016 general election coming up, the citizens of Indiana will be electing their members of
Congress to represent the state and its districts. The Indiana Senate race that has received a lot of
attention is the race between Todd Young and Evan Bayh. An Indiana House race that has been
receiving a lot of attention is the District 9 race between Shelli Yoder and Trey Hollingsworth. When
analyzing these races, a wide variety of factors, such as demographics, money, and scandals should to
be taken into consideration. In terms of the Senate race in Indiana, there have been fourteen shifts in
party power in that particular seat over time (Ballotpedia). But in general, Indiana has been a
Republican leaning state throughout much of its history. In 2004, Evan Bayh (D) was elected to the
Indiana Senate. In 2010, Dan Coats (R) was elected to the seat. In the very next election, Joe Donnelly
(D) took over the seat. Dan Coats retook the seat in 2014 and is now stepping down to make room for
either Evan Bayh (D) or Todd Young (R) (Indiana Secretary of State).

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Fact School
This is a number operation lesson for Kindergarten 2nd grade. This lesson might be used in
conjunction with lessons involving fact families. The goal of the lesson is to help the students gain an
understanding of fact families. The students will start with one number, 7, and find the different
addition and subtraction fact families for each number. After the students have used the
counters/cubes/buttons and the red strip and found the different facts of the first number, the students
will count out 8 counters/cubes/buttons and find the next numbers in the fact families.
Strengths Weaknesses:
The activities in this lesson promote a deep understanding of fact families and the different properties
of fact families involving addition and subtraction. A strength of this lesson, with it being the
beginning of learning and using fact families, is the fact that the students are using manipulatives to
visualize and see the similarities in fact families. The students are also recording their information and
facts down as they manipulate the counters/cubes/buttons. This allows the students to visualize the
fact families in all of the possible ways, while still getting the practice of writing out the information,
since they will not always have the materials as supports. Students use of manipulatives and writing in
conjunction allows the students to have maximum practice in learning number combinations. The
questions that are related to this lesson will help the students

data, what s the consequence and how it is linked with Hadoop and Mark Logic? Large set of data,
unstructured and structured which is created everyday over the internet via different devices is known
as Big Data . For example: if the user has 7 accounts and creates multiple files in each account he has
already created large set of data of his own Big Data is generally described in terms of the three Vs:
1. Volume
2. Velocity
3. Variety With all the collection of large datasets with huge volume, high velocity and variety of data,
business and organization were at risk to handle their data privacy and security beyond their capacity.
Due to the increase in new technology, business, communication, device, big scale of data was
produced. About 90% data in today s world was just created in last two years alone, without counting
those data that has been created previously. The information retained in those data was a big risk to
many organizations as the current technology was managing the data with traditional approach, which
consisted of user, a centralized system and relational data base. This style had various drawbacks
together along with two key problems: less storage capacity and slow data processing.

Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez
In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal sisters,
who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native Dominican
Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s novel reflect
true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their lives. Readers
know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime, but they were
shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez utilizes
immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in the face of
opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the Mirabal
sisters is immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and though they can
only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than enough to
exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, Dedé is silently judging an
American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small details like
the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are revelations about the
country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many other tools to immerse her
readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout this English novel. Some
sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some words untranslated both in
dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a simple idea, it reinforces the
setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republic and assists in immersing readers with only a few
words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died is established before the book is even
opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially
told by these three sisters anyway, creating an unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as
readers wonder when they will read of their deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each
scene making the family s

Assignment On Benihana Simulation
NAME: UTSHAV BUDHATHOKI
STUDENT NO: 5893276
SUBJECT: OPS 802 OPERATION MANAGEMENT
LECTURER: DANIEL SKERL
SESSION: TRIMESTER 3
BENIHANA SIMULATION REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
OVERVIEW:
BENIHANA INC, an American restaurant company was founded in 1964 in New York City and has
116 Japanese cuisine restaurants. Benihana simulation is a computer simulation of an operation
management result based on concept of Benihana restaurant in Tokyo designed by Harvard school.
The outline of the simulation is based on two seating position i.e. bar and the dining area. The target of
this restaurant based simulation is to boost utilization, nightly profit and throughput time by using
batching strategy, size of bar and cycle time and different advertising scheme. Simulation consist of 6
challenges where only 1 to 3 factor can be changed in challenges 1 to 5 whereas challenge 6 is a
combination of strategies to gain the maximum output i.e. nightly profit by using all possible factors
from 5 previous challenges.
I started simulation by testing all the possible outcomes from challenge 1 to 5 and used the best
scenario from one simulation to the other step by step and drew the conclusion at the very end.
CHALLENGE 1:
The first challenge was to determine whether or not batching dining room customer was beneficial.
Batching means that the parties must reach a number of eight before they are seated. Two scenarios
from the simulation show that batching is a better strategy that helped to increase profit. Utilization of
the restaurant capacity is largest while batching. We could place 8 people at single table rather than
placing group of 5 at one and 3 at another. The number of customers that can be served at one time
highly influences the profit. According to the simulation it is more beneficial to use batching as
average profit is $83.64 compared to average profit of $282.29 when not batched. By using batching
benihana restaurants are able to eliminate bottleneck that occurs in the waiting area/bar. By doing so
they are able to see more customers in their restaurants which can be seen in the graphs to the right.
They lose fewer customers and more diners are served. Bottleneck primarily refers to the resources

Recording Techniques for Pink Floyd s Dark Side of the Moon
Recording techniques for Pink Floyd s Dark Side of the Moon
The album The Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd was an album that pushed the boundaries on
multi tracking and tape looping, as well as mixing in1973. The engineer, Alan Parsons, use many
unusual techniques to help create the sound that we know and love. Which landed the album on the
charts for 750 weeks. Dark side of the moon was first lead engineering job Alan had with Pink Floyd
and only took a year to record.
To record this album an EMI console, a 16 track tape machine, a Fairchild limiters, and an EMT plate
reverb were used. There were also up to five or six tape machines doing various delays, reverb delays,
ect. at one time. Alan remembers on the mix having to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first song I will talk about is Speak to Me in the opening of the song there is a heartbeat this was
done with a heavy gated bass drum. Alan used Kepex noise gates, which were new technology at the
time. The band also thought it was a nice idea to have some speech throughout the record. So they
recorded people answering questions off a stack note cards. Then Alan placed the voices in later where
the band felt it appropriate. (Classic Albums: The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon)
The next song I will talk about Time . When recording this song many unique techniques were used
for the time. Alan suggested to the band the idea of using real clocks. He made stereo recordings in an
antique clock shop. Using a portable tape machine he record each clock one at a time. Then he put
them together on the multitrack tape by back timeing the quarter inch originals that he had and starting
that next one on time until they were all layer together. (Classic Albums: The Making of The Dark
Side of the Moon)
I think the clocks are a very important component to the song. It was surprising to me to find out that
it was Alan s suggestion. This just goes to show that the band trusted his creativity and engineering
skills.
The song opens with a heavily gated bass line, this was done live many times before the recording, but
it was the new gating technology that was mentioned earlier that allowed them to get the tick tock

The Tragedy Of The Iliad
Homer in The Iliad explained the scenes of the Trojan War. Both sides had many great heroes to fight.
The Greeks had Menelaus and Achilles. Trojans had Hector and God like Paris. Even though heroes
on both sides had many qualities, but I chose Hector as my partner. I chose Hector to defend me on the
fields of Troy in battle.
Hector was prince of Troy. He was son of Priam and brother of God like Paris. Even though he had a
lot of qualities to be chosen as a partner, the main reason I chose him as my partner is that he never
forget his duties, he always did the right thing, and he always remind his other Trojan fellows about
their duties. Following are some of the scenes from The Iliad which served as the reasons why I chose
him as my partner in the battle.
God like Paris with the help of Aphrodite got Helen and vanished from the fields. The Trojans were
feeling insecure as their leader left them at the battle fields alone and was having a good time with
Helen. Hector was the one who went to Paris and reminded him of his duties and told him that how his
deeds made The Trojans ashamed of themselves in front of The Greeks. Hector said, Evil hearted
Paris, beautiful to look upon, woman mad and false of tongue. How much better if you had never
been! Better far than to bring shame on us like this. Now the long haired Greeks will laugh at us and
say that our beautiful hero has no heart in him or courage. (Homer 48)

Argument in Favor of Oedipus Fate

Writter: Sophocles
No one can deny freewill of a person totally, so as fate. But as I m in favor of Oedipus, the protagonist
of ancient Greek play Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. I think here in it, fate is more responsible for
Oedipus end.
Many questions were raised against Oedipus in class argument about his character flaws, running from
the fate, killing his father, marrying his mother, and insulting prophet etc. Here I would try to answer
as much I can.
Firstly it is important to mention that, it is the play which had great importance for ... Show more

If the fate is already been cast in iron, then what difference do his characteristics make! Teiresias
himself said that whatever is written in fate will be done;
Teiresias
Well, it will come what will, though I be mute.
Oedipus
Since come it must, thy duty is to tell me.
Teiresias
I have no more to say; storm as thou willst,
And give the rein to all thy pent up rage. (341 347)
If it is to be asked that why he was so aggressive? He should control his anger! Moreover why he
murdered four people, as murder is a sin. So it should be kept in mind that he was already upset by the
unexpected prophecy and servants became him angrier by attacking him, also he was the same
arrogant father s son, so he should not be blame only.
Names from the heroic age were of course often related to the man s nature or destiny or we can also

important because they have some effect on human s whole life and personality. So we can say that
names did their work in this play as well. The name Oedipus is derived from a verb oida which means
know which connects to knowledge and pous means swollen foot . It can be meant like that, a person
who knows his feet, by which he was able to solve the riddle.

be on the demand capabilities, hourly consumption and solar production analysis of households in
Finland ,however other countries like Southern European have also covered for comparison.
Moreover, for fundamentals various models are deliberated, besides which sensitivity on investment
analysis are conducted with choices of realistic scenario. In Finland business opportunities does exist
but however, until now still no attractive returns. Base case analysis demonstrated internal rates which
are among 3,0 % and 1,6 % , this is without demand response benefits, and internal rates of return
among 0,8 % and 0,3 % with them. Therefore, demand response had a really important positive effect

trauma and war that have wrecked this extremely poor country.
In recent years, the UN has been entrusted with providing assistance to several countries in post
conflict situation, including the newly independent East Timor, now renamed Timor Leste. The
experiences of the United Nations in East Timor have shown that the reestablishment, at a minimum,
of basic judicial functions must be among a mission s top priorities from the earliest stages of

lessons learned in the violence wrought country on the current situation at Afghanistan to create a

Group Summary
Group 4 (Gerwyn Pascual, Mary Jo Morgan, Greg Palmer, Wesley Quash, Michael Royster)
Liberty University
Introduction
Managers are integral to the success of an organization because they are responsible for using both
human and other resources to achieve goals effectively and efficiently. (Satterlee, 2013). This paper
combines the three concepts that Group 4 have considered most important. It primarily highlights the
four functions of management; planning, leading, organizing, and controlling. Secondly, it discusses
the characteristics of a successful manager. Finally, relates the necessary skills for a competent
manager; technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills.
Group Consensus
The first of the three most important concepts are the Four Functions of Management. Under this
concept the four functions of management contain four objectives which are leading, planning,
organizing and controlling. Under leading, leading deals with motivating employees, directing the

The color of the waves are a spectacular mix of a light green, an astonishing teal, and the amazing darkness of the blue. The tides lightly brushing against the welcoming homes of all the nice people. In the small boat ahead contains an innocent child with his mother outside what can only be their house. • 6. Amory Blaine In F. Scott Fitzgerald s This Side Of Paradise A significant part of F. Scott Fitzgerald s This Side of Paradise describes the time that the main character, Amory Blaine, has spent at Princeton University. Through the portrayal of the several characters, the novel shows that the years spent at Princeton either turned the students into a homogenous mass or, on the contrary, prompted them to deviate from the crowd. A typical student from the novel can most likely be described as a Princeton slicker (51). The slickers are predominantly smart, well dressed and successful, but what truly draws the line between them and the other students is the slickers sense of social values (40), or, in other words, their snobbishness. The word conventionalize seems to fully capture the negative impact that the college may have on one s core values, as later Tom himself is accused of being conventionalized (126) when Amory Blaine thinks he is no longer standing against people (126). Amory, too, becomes disillusioned with the idea of being a slicker , and this is reflected in the nonchalance he develops towards all of the student organizations and in a shift in the objects of his admiration. As a freshman and a sophomore, Amory was fascinated by of Dick Hornby, a perfect type of aristocrat (78) with an air of elegance and style. As an upperclassman, however, Amory grew fond of Burne Holiday, an enthusiastic pacifist and socialist who seemed too eccentric to the rest of the college community. Unlike Dick Hornby, who attracted Amory s attention merely because of the impression he made in public, Burne Holiday strucks Amory because of his intense earnestness (117) and the unique path he chose to follow. This change in Amory s values thus proves that, in time, he, too, has overgrown the snobbishness and superficiality of the Princeton s student community and became more ... • 7. Uncertainty, Fear And Communication In The Bath By Raymond... In The Bath by Raymond Carver we have the theme of conflict, uncertainty, helplessness, fear and communication. Taken from his What We Talk About When We Talk About Love collection the story is narrated in the third person by an unnamed narrator and is an early version of another Carver short story (A Small, Good Thing). One of the most striking things about the beginning of the story is that it becomes clear to the reader that Carver may be exploring the theme of communication (or the lack of it). Ann Weiss is in a baker s shop ordering a cake for her son Scotty s birthday. Though she tells the baker, who remains unnamed throughout the story, what she is looking for the baker says very little, assuring Ann that she has told him everything he needs to know. The baker s reassurance is important because in some ways it is the only time in the story in which Ann (or her husband) are assured that everything is okay. At no other stage in the story is there a sense, particularly for Ann that things are or will be okay (when it comes to Scotty s condition). Seven of the main benefits of cloud computing include: 2) Self service provisioning: End users can spin up computing resources for almost any type of workload on demand. Elasticity: Companies can scale up as computing needs increase and then scale down again as demands decrease. Pay per use: Computing resources are measured at a granular level, allowing users to pay only for the resources and workloads they use. • 9. Failure Philosophy Let your failure be your motivation to success. Winona Bhushan. Why is failure the key to everything? When climbing a tree, you are bound to fall until you learn from your mistakes. Anything below a hundred percent grade on any given task is failure. These are just two of infinite possibilities of failing. Failure is the result of an action to put it bluntly. There are three poems to help understand this philosophy even further. These include the poem Caged Bird written by the poet, Maya Angelou, Mother To Son, written by the poet, Langston Hughes, and last but certainly not least, The Road Not Taken, written by Robert Frost. The works of literature listed above all revolve around each other in a special way. In each scenario, one reflects on their past in an indirect way of speaking about their decisions or actions. Though, the real question is, how does failure affect these three individuals, and how they did they move past it, or through it? When one feels caged, they are feeling as though they are trapped in their own negative feelings, telling themselves that because of their past failures, they can only talk about how they can t accomplish anything. This is the case in the poem, Caged Bird, by Maya Angelou, in which it states, The free bird thinks of another breeze / and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees / and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn / and he names the sky his own(Angelou) This means that the free bird, who may be described as someone who has it all, or has had little to no experience with devastating failure. On the other hand, the poem states, But a bird that stalks / down his narrow cage / can seldom see through his bars of rage / his wings are clipped / and his feet are tied / so he opens his throat to sing. (Angelou) This differentiates from the free bird, because the caged bird is described as one who is being restricted into his own limits, basically. One of the things holding him back is his own experiences, while the free bird wonders what is on the other end of the spectrum, as he is handed fat worms and is greeted by soft winds. The poem written by Maya Angelou is supposed to show perspective, on one end the bird is thought of as free, with no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Langston Hughes, a famous poet, knew how important dreams were and he saw dreams crumble during his times. Dreams are a big deal in life because people set dreams to give themselves hope. When their dreams crumble, their spirits die as well because they have nothing else to strive for. In Harlem, Hughes uses vivid imagery and similes to illustrate how dreams deferred upset and defeat the human spirit inside one s self. Question: To what extent has the advancement of computerized technology influenced the stage and lighting design of theatre Introduction: Theatre has come a long way from when it first started with regard to the set designs of the plays and musicals. When the sets were first designed the props would either stay on the stage as a permanent structure the whole time or you needed to have the stage crew come out and move the props and scenery. Now with the advancement of technology you can program a computer to move the objects and scenery on the stage instead of having people move each of the objects. This helps to give the plays more of a realist feeling because the play feels like it flows like life does without the interruption of people coming out to change the stage or having to use ropes to move the set. G.Sanvikarja suggests that causational logic is more rational and based on prediction where as the effectual strategy is more creative and is control orientated. Each of these approaches implies different strategies and reasoning behind both individual decisions and responsiveness to the environment. Furthermore, most enterprises follow a set of common principles that are key for building a business strategy including defining means, setting affordable loss, leveraging contingencies and forming partnerships (S. et. al, 2010). These four aspects are crucial for understanding how is a business created and what is its approach. However, it should be noted that most of the businesses are not strictly effectual or causal, rather a mixture of both with a tilt towards one. Every business is individual and should be treated like one. This paper will examine the business strategies behind the Ice Hotel and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. QRS Syndrome Analysis As shown in Figure 1, the P wave is a result of atrial depolarization. The QRS complex is a result of ventricular depolarization, and thus ventricular contraction, as well as atrial repolarization simultaneously. The T wave represents repolarization of ventricles and thus relaxation. The delay between the P wave and the QRS complex is known as the PQ interval or the PR interval. During this interval, the atria contract and begin to relax, and the ventricles contract at the end of this delay (VanPutte et al., 2014). This time of this interval is important for determining many heart conditions, such as an atrial blockage, as it measures the time of onset of ventricular contraction after the atria contracts. If this time period is too long, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heart rate begins to increase during exercise because in order to produce energy for contraction, the working leg muscles require more oxygen. When the subject increased exercise, the heart was beating faster to get oxygen to these cells and to circulate the blood back to the lungs to get rid of carbon dioxide. During exercise, the body needs more than the normal cardiac output, due to increased demand for oxygen. Thus the heart is beating harder to get blood to the body and this leads to an increase in MAP in the vessels as well. The heart ejects a greater volume of blood with each stroke and in turn, this creates a higher mean arterial pressure. Ultimately, an increase in heart rate leads to an increase in cardiac output which both work together to meet the body s oxygen demands (cardiac output= stroke volume x heart rate). As shown in both figures 4a and 4b, a plateau was reached because the body was performing at its maximum at that point. This may not be reflective of maximum heart rate as the body may have been able to reach a higher HR and MAP, but this was the hardest the body was working during this exercise. During recovery, both HR and MAP begin to fall, because oxygen demand to the muscles decrease as the working muscles begin to slow down. In Figure 4b, there is a slight ... • 28. American Prairie Research Paper Research Paper: The American Prairie A Known Wonder By: Avani Pammidimukkala #20 and Tanvi Prem #24 Due Date: May 26th, 2016 Introduction When people think of the American Prairie, they think of a dull, and grassy full biome. But, the American Prairie is an extremely fascinating biome. At first glance, this grassy biome may look really dull and boring, but if you look deeper into it and feel nature playing its daily roles in this prairie around you, then you will see how unique this biome is. Location The American Prairie is usually located at mid latitudes, such as the middle of North America. Covered with grasses and numerous wild flowers, this area of land is huge. On the American prairie, trees grow that well, due to the lack of not too much rain. But, there are still some trees, and if they are there, they are regularly scattered very far apart. The American Prairie is located from the Great Plains to southern Texas and Mexico that forms an area that looks like a triangle. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, this biome is experiencing a lot of human impact that affects the environment greatly. The increased agricultural use of soil has created erosion, and its quality is going down. This is causing the Bison and Pronghorn that live on the prairie to become almost extinct. The American Prairie grassland is disappearing due to dividing up the land for farming and urban development. Dividing up the land for farming is bad because the animals of the grasslands don t have any way to move around. Prairie animals are also being endangered. When the prairie grassland is converted into cropland, it reduces the food source for many wild animals. This can lead to migration or possibly the starvation of the animals. Hundreds of animals have been hunted for valuable body parts. Also, bison have been hunted for their meat. This caused animals to near extinction. Humans have also done much more damage to this biome, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Argumentative Essay On Indiana House Elections With the 2016 general election coming up, the citizens of Indiana will be electing their members of Congress to represent the state and its districts. The Indiana Senate race that has received a lot of attention is the race between Todd Young and Evan Bayh. An Indiana House race that has been receiving a lot of attention is the District 9 race between Shelli Yoder and Trey Hollingsworth. When analyzing these races, a wide variety of factors, such as demographics, money, and scandals should to be taken into consideration. In terms of the Senate race in Indiana, there have been fourteen shifts in party power in that particular seat over time (Ballotpedia). But in general, Indiana has been a Republican leaning state throughout much of its history. In 2004, Evan Bayh (D) was elected to the Indiana Senate. In 2010, Dan Coats (R) was elected to the seat. In the very next election, Joe Donnelly (D) took over the seat. Dan Coats retook the seat in 2014 and is now stepping down to make room for either Evan Bayh (D) or Todd Young (R) (Indiana Secretary of State). Evan Bayh originally had a six to seven point lead over Todd Young in the polls, but policy issues played a part in negating that lead (Monmouth). For example, on the issue of ... • 30. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Fact School This is a number operation lesson for Kindergarten 2nd grade. This lesson might be used in conjunction with lessons involving fact families. The goal of the lesson is to help the students gain an understanding of fact families. The students will start with one number, 7, and find the different addition and subtraction fact families for each number. After the students have used the counters/cubes/buttons and the red strip and found the different facts of the first number, the students will count out 8 counters/cubes/buttons and find the next numbers in the fact families. Strengths Weaknesses: The activities in this lesson promote a deep understanding of fact families and the different properties of fact families involving addition and subtraction. A strength of this lesson, with it being the beginning of learning and using fact families, is the fact that the students are using manipulatives to visualize and see the similarities in fact families. The students are also recording their information and facts down as they manipulate the counters/cubes/buttons. This allows the students to visualize the fact families in all of the possible ways, while still getting the practice of writing out the information, since they will not always have the materials as supports. Students use of manipulatives and writing in conjunction allows the students to have maximum practice in learning number combinations. Due to the increase in new technology, business, communication, device, big scale of data was produced. About 90% data in today s world was just created in last two years alone, without counting those data that has been created previously. The information retained in those data was a big risk to many organizations as the current technology was managing the data with traditional approach, which consisted of user, a centralized system and relational data base. • 32. Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal sisters, who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native Dominican Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s novel reflect true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their lives. Readers know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime, but they were shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez utilizes immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in the face of opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the Mirabal sisters is immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and though they can only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than enough to exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, Dedé is silently judging an American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small details like the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are revelations about the country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many other tools to immerse her readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout this English novel. Some sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some words untranslated both in dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a simple idea, it reinforces the setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republic and assists in immersing readers with only a few words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died is established before the book is even opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially told by these three sisters anyway, creating an unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as readers wonder when they will read of their deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each scene making the family s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Assignment On Benihana Simulation NAME: UTSHAV BUDHATHOKI STUDENT NO: 5893276 SUBJECT: OPS 802 OPERATION MANAGEMENT LECTURER: DANIEL SKERL SESSION: TRIMESTER 3 BENIHANA SIMULATION REFLECTIVE JOURNAL OVERVIEW: BENIHANA INC, an American restaurant company was founded in 1964 in New York City and has 116 Japanese cuisine restaurants. Benihana simulation is a computer simulation of an operation management result based on concept of Benihana restaurant in Tokyo designed by Harvard school. The outline of the simulation is based on two seating position i.e. bar and the dining area. The target of this restaurant based simulation is to boost utilization, nightly profit and throughput time by using batching strategy, size of bar and cycle time and different advertising scheme. Simulation consist of 6 challenges where only 1 to 3 factor can be changed in challenges 1 to 5 whereas challenge 6 is a combination of strategies to gain the maximum output i.e. nightly profit by using all possible factors from 5 previous challenges. I started simulation by testing all the possible outcomes from challenge 1 to 5 and used the best scenario from one simulation to the other step by step and drew the conclusion at the very end. CHALLENGE 1: The first challenge was to determine whether or not batching dining room customer was beneficial. Batching means that the parties must reach a number of eight before they are seated. Two scenarios from the simulation show that batching is a better strategy that helped to increase profit. Utilization of the restaurant capacity is largest while batching. We could place 8 people at single table rather than placing group of 5 at one and 3 at another. The number of customers that can be served at one time highly influences the profit. According to the simulation it is more beneficial to use batching as average profit is $83.64 compared to average profit of $282.29 when not batched. By using batching benihana restaurants are able to eliminate bottleneck that occurs in the waiting area/bar. By doing so they are able to see more customers in their restaurants which can be seen in the graphs to the right. They lose fewer customers and more diners are served. Bottleneck primarily refers to the resources with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So they recorded people answering questions off a stack note cards. Then Alan placed the voices in later where the band felt it appropriate. (Classic Albums: The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon) The next song I will talk about Time . When recording this song many unique techniques were used for the time. Alan suggested to the band the idea of using real clocks. He made stereo recordings in an antique clock shop. Using a portable tape machine he record each clock one at a time. Then he put them together on the multitrack tape by back timeing the quarter inch originals that he had and starting that next one on time until they were all layer together. (Classic Albums: The Making of The Dark Side of the Moon) I think the clocks are a very important component to the song. It was surprising to me to find out that it was Alan s suggestion. This just goes to show that the band trusted his creativity and engineering skills. Following are some of the scenes from The Iliad which served as the reasons why I chose him as my partner in the battle. God like Paris with the help of Aphrodite got Helen and vanished from the fields. The Trojans were feeling insecure as their leader left them at the battle fields alone and was having a good time with Helen. Hector was the one who went to Paris and reminded him of his duties and told him that how his deeds made The Trojans ashamed of themselves in front of The Greeks. Hector said, Evil hearted Paris, beautiful to look upon, woman mad and false of tongue. How much better if you had never been! Better far than to bring shame on us like this. The Four Functions Of Management Group Summary Group 4 (Gerwyn Pascual, Mary Jo Morgan, Greg Palmer, Wesley Quash, Michael Royster) Liberty University Introduction Managers are integral to the success of an organization because they are responsible for using both human and other resources to achieve goals effectively and efficiently. (Satterlee, 2013). This paper combines the three concepts that Group 4 have considered most important. It primarily highlights the four functions of management; planning, leading, organizing, and controlling. Secondly, it discusses the characteristics of a successful manager. Finally, relates the necessary skills for a competent manager; technical skills, human skills, and conceptual skills. Group Consensus The first of the three most important concepts are the Four Functions of Management. Under this concept the four functions of management contain four objectives which are leading, planning, organizing and controlling. Under leading, leading deals with motivating employees, directing the activities of subordinates, and selecting the most effective forms of communicating across all levels of an organization. Leading also entails resolving conflict. (Saterlee, p.4, 2013).
