This document provides instructions for an experiment to determine the enthalpy and entropy changes of the reaction between zinc and copper sulfate using two methods: electrochemistry and calorimetry. Students will set up a galvanic cell and allow the reaction to occur, then use the voltage to calculate the enthalpy change. They will also mix the reactants and measure the temperature change to calculate the enthalpy directly. Comparing the results from both methods helps reinforce thermodynamics principles.
