2. I believe that the main audience for our media product would typically be
males,
aged between 12-35+. I also believe that our film would have a certificate of
12A as there would be little profanity or violence. The fast paced scenes of
action would definitely keep this age range interested.
I also think that anyone interested in Sci-fi, Cyberpunk or Spy Thriller films
Would be interested. This genre includes films such as: 'The Matrix’ /
'Bladerunner’ / 'Salt' / 'Minority Report' / 'James Bond: Casino Royale’ /
'Bourne Identity’.
3. In our pre-production research we asked people between the ages of 12-35+ to
take part in a questionnaire. The responses were as follows:
4.
5. Question 3: What are your thoughts on our chosen film genre?
'Thought provoking'
'Not my preferred choice'
'Chance for interesting plot'
'Quite Niche’
Question 4: What are you views on the storyline that we have chosen to
go with?
'I like the idea of having a sarcastic main character in a Spy-thiller type
film'
'Very Interesting, with twists and turns to keep the viewers interested'
'It is a little generic, terrorism is a big plot in most films these days'
'Quite dramatic, holds suspense'
6.
7.
8. Question 7: Any further suggestions or comments / anything that we
could improve?
'No I don't think so, as far as a 3 minute introduction to a film goes, I
think you've managed to keep it as interesting as possible'
'Make sure that the editing is well considered and thought about in this
production'
'Include fast-pace music during the chase scenes'
'Pull off as many different shots as you possibly can, it's all about the
variety'
9. The pre-production research gave us the confidence to go forward with
our idea as the general responses on the whole, were positive. However,
the research also gave us the idea to completely go against what
peoples general expectations of a cyberpunk/spy thriller film. This
would give our film a unique touch against all of the other films in this
genre.
For example, majority of the music we decided to go with in the film
was completely against cyberpunk/spy thriller traditions as we
implemented music under the categories of Jazz, Alternative/Folk etc.
Rather than the typical, electronic or intense orchestral.
