Who would be the audience for
your media product?
Gender?
 Looking back at my research into psychological
thriller target audience demographics, I believe
that our target audience would not focus on
attracting a particular gender, as research shows
that psychological thrillers are watched by about
49% male and 51% female audiences. Thus we
are not specifically targeting our film to one of the
genders as we will only loose out on potential
viewers.
Age?
 I believe that our thriller attracts people in their late
teens as well as young adults (15-25). As generally
psychological thrillers attract this age bracket and
beyond up to 40+. However due to our use of younger
actors we believe our thriller will be more attractive to
the younger of the general demographic as the they
would be able to relate to the movie more. (Blumler
and Katz) Thus our thriller may potentially be less
attractive to the older bracket of demographics who
watch psychological thrillers as they can’t relate to it
in a similar way the younger bracket can.
Occupation?
 As said before our core target audience being from
the ages of 15-25, a common “occupation” of our
audience would be that of a “student”, a student being
in full time higher education, be that college or
university. I believe this as in order for the audience to
be able to get satisfaction out of our thriller they must
be able to follow the narrative of the film, thus people
who have attended higher education are more likely
to grasp the concept of what is happening in our film
and thus get more pleasure from watching it.
 However a general occupation for our older side of
our target audience would be that of a office style job,
such as a teacher or stock broker, who in which did
attend higher education and our now settling down
into a full time job.
Conclusion
 To conclude we believe that our media product
would attract both male and females from the
ages of 15+ with a focus on the age bracket of
(15-25) due to the use of young actors. We also
believe that our audience would generally have
attended or be currently attending higher
education, in order to really be able to understand
the complexity of the narrative in our thriller film.
