The World Of The Age Of Medi Entertainment And Relevancy
Living in the Age of Media: Entertainment and Relevancy
The significant presence of electronic media has gradually become a crisis of society s
problems. Though it seems to go unnoticed by most, the obtainment of our information that we
are receiving is a mere means of entertainment thanks to the universalization of media and
television. Postman discusses the consequences of living in a technologically advanced age by
discussing four aspects of society that are most affected: the news, religion, politics, and
education. Society has shifted from words of reason and sensibility to the epitome of trivial
media content. The general overview of television is not what gives a problematic impression on
society, but it is the loss of purpose and truth within our programs that is transforming itself into
a form of show business.
Out of the four aspects of society, politics has had the most corrupted and negative effect
towards society. Politicians are unable to express intellectual knowledge on important issues and
instead of being treated as potential leaders, they are treated similarly to celebrities. For example,
take the most recent election and varied political commercials that were broadcasted. The
promotional margin of political figures is often taken as a means of self interest, voting for the
most likeable candidate. Gone are the days of understanding and voting for Republicans or
Democratic parties. Politics are devalued into forms of imagery,

Analyzing The Current And Future Economic Status Of Ohio
Analyzing the Current and Future Economic Status of Ohio
Abdulaziz Musallam December 4, 2014
Analyzing the Current and Future Economic Status of Ohio
This paper will start by tackling the economic situation in Ohio by defining the main terms which we
will use from time to time in this economic analysis. We will define recession and depression in order
to put these matters in the right perspective. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research
(NBER), recession is the period when business activities have reached its peak and a fall starts. This
continues until the time when those business activities reach the bottom. In average, a recession lasts
for one year. Depression on the other hand is a downturn in economic activity. A great example is the
Great Depression of 1930. The term recession was coined during this period in order to differentiate
the event of 1930 from the smaller economic declines of 1910 and 1913 (Smiley, 2008). So we can
lightly say that a depression can be said to be a recession that lasts longer and its business activity
decline is larger.
Having defined both the recession and depression, we can point out the difference. The changes in
GNP are the best test to use in getting the differences between the two terms. For a depression, the
GNP declines by more than 10 per cent (Moffat, n.d). On the other hand a recession is an economic
decline that is less severe. A number of world leaders have warmed of the looming economic

Jadine proceeds to take the ACT, completing it in the allotted time. I meet to with her now to review

Counselor: Jadine, good to see you again. I have received the scoring for the ACT assessment you

Client: Awesome! I am a little nervous to know how I scored, but I feel like I did ok.
Counselor: The scores can range from 1 to 36 for a composite score. Your composite score was a total

My Life Changing Experience At The Doctor s Office
I walk through the doors with my mom. I hear crying, little kids throwing tantrums and moms telling
their kids everything would be fine. The nurses walking around with files and stethoscopes around
their necks. I was officially at the doctor s office. I had checked in and sitting in pain with all these
noises going on, thinking that it would be just a regular visit. But little did I know, from that day on it
would be a life changing experience to my identity.
My whole life s been a chase, it s a gift and a curse. Was on my way up to the top then slipped into
reverse. I was at the doctor s office for a messed up shoulder. Not thinking he would say anything
about getting older. They had me sit patiently in pain while they were scanning away my arm to see
what was the cause of all this. The doc showed me the x rays and said you ll be fine, it s just a frozen
shoulder blade. But do you see this here ? I immediately said yeah like, what is it? He points his finger
at the x ray and tells me what no 18 year old, 5 foot 5 boy that is playing hockey wants to hear, you re
done growing. My stiffened like I had seen a ghost. My heart had stopped like something was stuck in
my throat. I could feel the rapids of water hit the dam behind my eyes and when I stepped outside, that
dam broke. I couldn t hold the tears back. The rest of the night I would stay awake in my bed and keep
telling myself from that point on, I swear I would go on my grind mode.
Three weeks go by and I m fully charged

Abigail Fold Down Desk Research Paper
This Safavieh American Homes Collection Abigail Fold Down Desk is a black writing desk that will
fit into small spaces. We re firm believers in the fact that you don t need a dedicated office space to do
your best writing. You only need a writing space where you can keep your work organized and keep
the kids from using your story index cards as a coloring book.
This is a sturdy writing desk for small spaces that ll provide plenty of storage and won t have you
writing at a corner of the kitchen or dining room table. The black writing desk has a distressed finish
that will fit into homes with a variety of décor styles, too.
Initial Impression

The edges of the desk itself and the drawers are distressed to show the wood underneath. One of the
most beautiful parts of the desk is the detail of the drawer knobs. They have the look of carved brass
with flower detail.
Measurements
The black writing desk weighs 53 pounds. It measures 29.7 inches by 18.1 inches by 37.8 inches. The
depth of the desk is 18.1 inches when the desk top isn t folded down into place. When it s folded
down, the desk surface is 26.75 inches.
Sturdy Fold Down Surface
When it s not in use, the surface of the desk is folded on itself. You don t have to worry about the desk
s depth sticking out into the room. It keeps the desk s footprint small, so it can be used in any room
including tucked into a bedroom, in the corner of a living room, or in the back of the kitchen.
Drawers for Storage
The six adorable drawers at the top make it feel like an apothecary desk, which is a style that we love
here. Each drawer is 8.5 inches by 8.1 inches by 2.4 inches. It s wide enough for many items you want
to store including index cards and writing supplies. You can even hide adult coloring books and good
markers in the drawers, so the kids don t steal

Psychological Egoism Theory Essay
The theory of psychological egoism is indeed plausible. The meaning of plausible in the context of
this paper refers to the validity or the conceivability of the theory in question, to explain the nature and
motivation of human behavior (Hinman, 2007). Human actions are motivated by the satisfaction
obtained after completing a task that they are involved in. For example, Mother Teresa was satisfied
by her benevolent actions and activities that she spent her life doing. As Hinman (2007) points out, she
was likely to reduce in activity if she experienced any dissatisfaction in her endeavors.
Therefore, no matter how much altruism theorists try to argue about the degree of inclination of an
action towards non self interest, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his argument, Hinman (2007) asserts that every action that people engage in is motivated by self
interests or pleasure or direct benefits the agent or to avoid living with guilt in the future. This is the
nature of human beings. Even the most altruistic action is in actual sense motivated by the egocentric
desire of the actor (Hugh, 1898).
Hugh (1898) further argues that people recognize that they are motivated, in most if not all cases by
their need to advance their self interest. However, when they reflect on this issue, they are mistaken by
the urge to believe that the truth is the centrally of this. Actions that are meant to show concern for
other people, such as helping the needy are self satisfying to the actor, and they expect that they will
their reputation in the society and obtain returned favors. A good example is that of political aspirant
who might engage in a lot of philanthropic activities in his community to win the support of his
constituents.
Helping people is a noble thing to do especially when it comes to the application of natural justice,
where human beings help those who are suffering. There is always a hidden intention in every action
that is obscured by the notion of philanthropy. Returned favors expectation might not be the ultimate
intention as to why people may perform an act (Michael, 1978). However, it will be illogical to say
that these intentions were

Brave New World Identity Essay
Brave New World is a book that revolves around the cultural elements of Community, Identity,
Stability (1). That motto is something that holds true for the many average lives that partake in the
New World community and can even apply to the Reservations that are explained throughout the
book. However, there is an exception to this motto and that exception is John the Savage. John is truly
an outsider in both cultures, for many different, yet similar, ways. He is caught between two extremely
different worlds, worlds of which he isn t accepted as normal. He tends to stick with the identity that
he created on the Reservation, which revolves around Shakespeare and the acts of the other Savages,
and, when entering the New World, he is truly faced with a cultural collision, which ultimately leads
to his demise. John s responses to this battle between cultural beliefs proves how inhumane the New
World truly is, mainly because of conditioning. True love in the New World is something that is
completely foreign to the majority of the machine minds of the people who live there and is ... Show

However, the Controllers have different ideas in mind, as Mustapha Mond informs John that, we don t
want change. Every change is a menace to stability. That s another reason we re so chary of applying
new inventions (Huxley 224 225). Change and development is an integral part of life, even for John.
He may have never acted in such ways that he did if it weren t for reading and the development of his

Hinduism Symbolism
II. Part A
The fascinating religion, Hinduism, is composed of multiple complex gods and goddesses and filled
with interesting traditions, all of which can be studied through ancient arts that depict various parts of
the religion. The great gods and goddesses of Hinduism serve with different purposes, roles and
depicts based of their stories. For instance, the god Shiva is known as the destroyer because of his
creative power and furiousness. One of his popular tales describes how he took on a powerful trinity
of tyrannical cities that were corrupting the city. Like most gods, Shiva is depicted with superhuman
qualities; he often has serpents on his neck and unkempt hair. Another great god, Vishnu, is quite the
opposite from Shiva because he is known as the preserver, of the universe especially. His role is to
observe the cycle of the world and make sure everything is preserved and goes well; also, his
depiction varies from the other great god, so he is represented with a flower in his (multiple) hands.
Additionally, goddesses are also valued in the Hindu religion; for example, the goddess, Durga, is
responsible for restoring moral order and often fights, but she still has compassion and love. She is
often represented on a lion for courage. The representation for each god and goddesses varies but each
accessory is symbolic to their powers. The main reason why they are depicted with various animal
parts, weapons, or other certain appearances that may be unhuman like, is to show

Purpose Of The Mapping Project
Some time ago, I received a call from an elderly shut in lady explaining that she had no access to
transportation and that there was some problem with her SNAP benefits that month. Consequently, she
was in poor health and had specific dietary needs. Her friend, that normally would help, was not able
to take her to a local pantry. She went on to ask if we would be able to bring just a little food to tie her
over until someone could take her somewhere for food. Imagine the feeling of insecurity that this
woman must have been experiencing. This is just one of many calls the food bank receives. It is just
such a call that made the mapping project GMFB conducted so necessary.
The purpose of the mapping project was to gain a better insight into the counties GMFB services and
their demographics. Additionally, it was necessary to have a better understanding of the agencies we
currently support and the part they play in their communities. Are the areas under served? Are the
areas over served? Is there any duplication of service? In food banking, agencies are nonprofit
organizations that link GMFB and the hungry. An agency will have a distribution model that provides
access to meals, groceries and/or benefits for a targeted population in the community. Over time, we
began to gather information on food insecurity, poverty levels, areas with high numbers of free and
reduced lunch provided, locations of subsidized housing, and finally pantry locations unsupported by
the food

Analysis Of In Defense Of The Insanity Defense
The current American Justice System has many issues, one in particular is the insanity defense.
Defendants have used this plea in courts for many years, which have led to massive debates. The
insanity plea weighs heavily in our society. A society that demands for justice. However, some people
praise it as if it was sent from the heavens above. On the other hand, there are many people who view
it as an unnecessary evil. The insanity defense is rooted in a basic principle of justice; this it is unfair
to hold persons responsible for their actions when they don t know, or can t control, what they are
doing (Worth 16), it may be true that there are people out there who are truly unaware of their actions
while committing a crime, but if they are unaware should these people still be held responsible and
punished for the crime? In the editorial, In Defense of the Insanity Defense , by Robert L. Scandoff,
the author uses credible sources, counterarguments, and does not cherry pick information; however, in
the article Abolish the Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity Plea , by the Lancaster News Era, the author
uses cherry picking, connotation, and has no sources. Being able to identify cherry picking and
conformational bias in a writer s work is important because these writing techniques can either liberate
a criminal or imprison a mentally ill person.

Guy Montag starts out as a average fireman who loves doing his job, which is burning books. He s
married and lives a normal lifestyle in an unspecified city in a society where reading is illegal, and
being intellectual is frowned upon. That would be the exposition of the story. On his way home from
work one day, he meets a curious lady named Clarisse, who tells that she loves reading and nature.
Clarisse gave Montag a desire to change society s way of thinking for the better, and eventually the
curiosity spreads to Montag and he begins to steal books. This would be the rising action. At this
moment he questions the ethics of the society he lives in. That would be the main conflict. His wife
and boss eventually find out what he s doing, so firemen stop in front of the salamanders own house,
raid his home, finding and burning down all the books. Montag kills Beatty with a flamethrower. This
would be the climax. Knowing something like this would happen, Montag flees for his life. Montag
follows the directions given to him by Faber and finds a band of men devoted to the same cause
preserving the truth of book. In the end, Montag is rescued by a community of people, each of whom
introduces himself as the title of a book they ve memorized. That would be the denouement.

As a society, we often find ourselves entangled up in the midst of what our often clouded minds
perceive to be a chaotic and unforgiving world, but as one can only view the outside world as they
perceive themselves, equally, it can be pondered that the decay of humanity resides within one s

A whip and a mule for men can be seen as the reason for Angustias timid communications with Pepe
el Romano as seen in the extract. Moreover, Bernarda s ideals on social status are made clear when
Lorca has her reveal the reason for her sending away Enrique Humanes. This was because His father
was a farmhand , the effect of this being Martirio s assurances that she will never marry. The
uncertainties Bernarda s eldest daughter, Angustias, feels about love, and her inexperience of this is
revealed by her apprehensive questions and statement of I ought to be happy but I m not . This naivety
is emphasised by the all woman cast. The play opens with the death of the house s sole male
inhabitant which furthers this impression and creates an ironic foreshadowing of the extreme
conditions of siege which Bernarda forces upon her daughters. The distance between Bernarda and her
eldest daughter is made apparent by the short answers Angustias confidences receive and the physical
violence Bernarda directs at her when she strikes her with her stick in Act one. This, combined with
the large sum Angustias inherits from her stepfather, intimates that she was favoured in his will
because of some closer relationship; a possibility that she, like the Servant, was sexually taken
advantage of. This adds a greater emphasis to the implication of hidden secrets held by the household.

Many Cycles Differ Slightly From Year To Year, Decade To
Many cycles differ slightly from year to year, decade to decade; for example, the climate, economies,
and wars all follow their own rollercoaster like paths that adjust slightly after each run. This pattern of
repetition with a difference recurs throughout Gabriel García Márquez s magical realist novel One
Hundred Years of Solitude. The story follows the generations of the Buendía family in the town of
Macondo. However, the spiral the family follows collapses inward on itself with each passing
generation, eventually culminating with Aureliano Babilonia, the last survivor of the Buendía family.

Thus, the apparent lack of a motherly figure further distances Aureliano Babilonia from the typical
love children experience, likely contributing to his reserved and initially tentative nature. Rather than
growing up like the other children of the Buendía family, Fernanda locks Aureliano Babilonia in
Colonel Aureliano Buendía s workshop. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future obsession
of studying Melquíades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and comfort, and
naturally absorbs himself into every aspect of the room. This suggests that, without an adequate
amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy, leading to a
more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions and
developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely devoid of
human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of Aureliano
Segundo, his grandfather, as if he were not a human child but the encyclopedia definition of a cannibal
(294). This furthers the idea that Aureliano Babilonia lives more like an ostracized, uncivilized
individual than a normal child. Moreover, his comparison to a cannibal, a term that Amaranta Úrsula

coffee using your phone. The simplest thing like having you garage door open using a link from your
vehicle is data security. It is the little things that hackers can use to take over a person, a company or a
whole organization.
The history of the problem is being able to keep information secure from those who wish to do harm
towards the government or the citizens. There are so many moving parts to the government in which
data is used to contribute to the necessary. If the information of our citizens were free to be accessed
by anyone then we would have a serious problem. Although it is the right of the people to know how
they are being affected it is necessary to secure certain information. We go online and we apply to
jobs, we turn over everything a person needs to take our identity. As a public official you are like an
officer of the courts, and you are expected to be trusted with information, but if your computer is
hacked all just became information into the wrong hands.

United Nations International Children s Emergency Fund Essay
Food and Nutrition
Mary Carnahan
HA 304: Global Health Care Systems
November 8, 2016
Introduction In this paper I m going explore United Nations International Children s Emergency Fund
(UNICEF) and what they do to provide food and nutrition to people in developing countries. Also in
this paper I will be exploring Community food banks and what they do to provide food and nutrition
to people in need in the U.S. There is a statement in our text that obesity results from over nutrition. Is
this always true? Is it possible to be obese and lack adequate nutrition? Which foods contribute most
to obesity? How nutritious are those foods?
United Nations International Children s Emergency Fund (UNICEF)
What they do to provide food and nutrition to people in developing countries UNICEF was created in
1946 to provide relief to children in countries devastated by World War II. After 1950 the fund
directed its efforts toward general programs for the improvement of children s welfare, particularly in
less developed countries and in various emergency situations. The organization s broader mission was
reflected in the name it adopted in 1953, the United Nations Children s Fund. UNICEF was awarded
the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1965. UNICEF does whatever it takes to save and protect the world s
most vulnerable children. Forty years ago, UNICEF figured out that promoting simple, low cost
interventions like hand washing and breastfeeding could save millions of lives.

The On The Path Of Success
A single key can open the door to many opportunities in life. Whether it is the keys to a new
apartment, or the key to someone s heart, all of these things are different achievements that foreshow
that someone is on the right track to a successful life. The main key to being successful in life is based
on execution and the environment someone is in as well. But of course there are many other factors
that to lead to the path of success, and the only to know what those elements are is to continue reading
this essay until the end. The factors that lead to the path of success are a little something that I like to
call the 3 k s. Execution and environmental influences begin to affect a person s life at one of the
earliest stages of schooling, kindergarten, which is the first k. In kindergarten kids are still young,
moldable, and absorb everything around them like a sponge. To explain how kindergarten connects to
a successful life, I will give you my experience of being in this grade level. My mom was very
involved in my school work and in my life in general. Although my father was also very supportive as
well, it was my mother that took it upon herself to be involved with my school, track my progression,
help me with my school work, and carefully select the school and teachers I would be with. With the
constant involvement of my mother helping me to get the proper education and self motivation I
needed, it helped me to continue a successful journey in school. I carried

Donald Trump s View On Immigration
President elect Donald Trump launched his presidential bid discussing immigration reform. Strict
immigration policies quickly became the forefront of his campaign and he says it will also be the
focus of his first 100 days in office. A look at the evolution of Trump s immigration plan reveals
simply a feeble attempt to appear more presidential and diplomatic rather than an actual evolution of
thought or even an attempt to be realistic.
When Mexico sends its people, they re not sending their best. ... They re sending people that have lots
of problems, and they re bringing those problems with us. They re bringing drugs. They re bringing
crime. They re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people, Trump said in his announcement speech

Crimes committed by illegal immigrants are significantly less than the figures he has presented and
serve only to instill fear in Americans and legitimize the ignorance of his attacks.
Trump continues to embolden rather than chastise his base by demonizing immigrants and refugees.
His exaggeration of these numbers and persistence in using them even after they have been proven
false is a tactic to mobilize support for strict immigration by instilling fear in Americans and saying
that they are bad people and that they are the enemy. His election led to cheers of build the wall at his
____ and reports of immigrants and Americans of foreign descent being told to go home soared.
As the media and the nation continue the process of normalizing the inevitable Donald Trump
presidency and its policies, his dangerous rhetoric cannot be ignored. While he is historically
unqualified and unlike any United States president in recent history, there must be a level of
accountability for the words of an American

Censorship And The Media Of Censorship
Privacy is viewed differently by different people, the same can be said about censorship. Censorship
and privacy do not solely revolve around leaks and personal intrusions from foreign entities. The
advent of social media and cell phones have created new avenues for people to communicate and
share information; The internet provides people a new and global way to spread information that can
be considered worthy of censorship. Many people I know argue that censorship should not be
commonplace in the media, in social media, or even in the entire Internet. Public s right to privacy and
censorship awareness is a very real thing we should come to realize and analyze. Censorship affects
the public in very real ways, it can both aid and deter the spread of propaganda. People need to
consider what type of information is being spread through these outlets. Focused on how people
perceived as such actions with fear and uneasiness, it s fair to note that contrast between censoring and
right to freely spread information. It can lead to an increase in violation claims from those attitudes. If
people feel uncertain about the benefits of censorship, then they are more willing to point out the
flaws in it. The public s view towards the subject matter greatly influences on how well the issue is
addressed in society. It s not only federal and state institutions that may participate in censoring what
goes on the internet, nor is it just the media putting a spin to spread entertaining

An Explanation Of Poe s The Raven
I liked reading this poem as it caught my attention. However, I did notice myself becoming confused
on some verses. I liked how Poe gave the reader room to use their own imagination within the story.
Each reader is responsible for interpreting Poe s words since he does not directly state his thoughts. I
thought that the unnamed character in the story was sad because of losing Lenore as the story states
From my books surcease of sorrow sorrow for the loss Lenore. The raven tapping at his chamber door

Analysis Of O Brother, Where Art Thou
Introduction
Recession is when a neighbor loses his job, depression is when you lose your job Ronald Reagan.
Recession is only a temporary decline and depression is a long and extended period of economic
failure. There was a crisis in America during the time period the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?
was based on. The Great Depression was occurring at that time and the characters in this movie
reflected and showed was it was like to live in a time like that. Each character in the movie
symbolized what an individual person would have went through during the Great Depression.

Historical Context
This movie is based on the time period of the 1930 s. The Great Depression was in action during this
time period. According to history.com, more than fifteen million Americans were unemployed after
the stock market crash of October 29, 1929. President Hoover was in office at the time and didn t do
much to overcome the predicament. Hoover announced that we would need patience and self reliance
to overcome this. In 1932 the crime rate in Washington was at its all time high and parole board had
the most applicants it has ever had according to Professor Carl Murchison. Seattle Post Intelligencer
reported that unemployment drove people to want to end their lives during the Great Depression.
During that time in King county, there was 190 suicides and even more suicide attempts. People felt
that the was no escaping this financial struggle and thought the only way out of it was to end their
lives. There was also an increase in robberies. People would steal money from their own workplace.
People would take money from graves, burry people alive and take their jewelry, you name it. With
the economy being at its lowest point, people were taking or getting money wherever they could.
The characters in the movie showed they were living in a time of poverty. Pete s family

Essay about Coral Divers Resort Case Study
Problem: Coral Divers Resort is a safe and knowledgeable scuba diving resort with a beach front
location. Over the past three years revenues have declined and Greywell suffered a $5, 174 in losses in
1994. Coral Divers Resort needs to do something before business gets worse and Jonathan Greywell
and his resort go out of business.
The first option that Greywell has would be to move Coral Divers Resort to New Providence Island in
the Bahamas. The island has a large population, and Nassau the capital has the most developed tourist
attractions in the Bahamas. One of the strengths of moving to New Providence would be the large
tourist population that gathers there. The island also offers underwater movie sets from popular Bond

This plan also has weaknesses. A shark dive would cost $100 for a two tank dive when compared to a
normal two tank dive that would only cost $25 75. Greywell would also have to purchase a special
chain mail suite for the shark feeder at a cost of $10,000. No one on Greywell s staff was very excited
about the shark feeding diving and most of them would have to be replaced. Novice divers would not
be able to take advantage of adventure diving because it requires previous experience and a high skill
level. The other concern associated with adventure diving would be the safety risks and skill level of
younger divers vacationing with their parents. The market for adventure diving is doing well, but
already seems to be saturated with competitors. There would also be a lack of returning customers
because adventure diving would most likely be a one time experience for most tourists. The third and
final option would be for Greywell to pair with Rascal s, a travel company and target the rapidly
growing family market segment. The current average age of a new diver is 36, and many of them have
children. A Rascal s strategy would give busy parents the option of bringing their children with them
on a dive vacation. The Rascal s option offers many strengths, and promises Coral Divers Resort an
increase of 40% for off season business. Rascal s is well established in the industry that would bring a

Ethos Pathos Logos In Julius Caesar Rhetorical Analysis
Have you ever wondered how Antony persuades the crowd towards his reasoning so easily? Did you
ever wonder if there was a special technique? In the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar Antony turns a
shocked, confused crowd of mourners into an angry mob of rioters when speaking to them. He does
this by using these three persuasive techniques, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Ethos is a technique that
persuades through ethics and morals, Pathos persuades through emotion, and Logos is a technique that
uses logic and reasoning. In the play Antony persuades the crowd using a technique called ethos. For
example, Antony says I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke, but here I am to speak what I do
know . When he said this he was trying to explain that he was not against Brutus s reasoning. This
makes the crowd think that Antony is a good guy and he doesn t want trouble which is the technique
ethos. Antony also says O masters, if I were disposed to stir your hearts ... Show more content on

Social Media in Africa
Three years ago I spent five weeks in Central Africa Republic. Traveling around the countryside and
visiting with nationals was rewarding in many ways. If you asked me then, I would have never
foreseen what direction the country was headed. I could never have imagined the once beautiful
capital of Bangui would turn into war torn rubbish, filled with refugees fleeing from harm.
Central Africa Republic is in the middle of a war brought on by its own people. Muslims and Christian

have been risking their lives attempting to stop the chaos and bring the country back to order.
Organizations like the United Nations and UNICEF are doing their part to provide for the refugees,
while individuals like Peter Bouckaert and Samantha Power are meeting with rebel leaders
encouraging peace. Social media, in particular Twitter, has been a major platform for these
organizations and individuals to share with the world the experiences they are encountering daily.

The Decrease Of Forest Cover And Forest Resources
Introduction
Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries of the world with a population more than
150 million. The rate of population increase is decreasing in Bangladesh but still it is high enough to
create immense pressure on different sectors like agriculture, forestry, economy etc. To fulfill the
demand of increasing population more agricultural lands, buildup areas, settlements, roads and
highways are necessary. These development activities will definitely corroborate the decrease of forest
cover and forest resources in Bangladesh. It is evident that global climate is changing and Bangladesh
is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world due to climate change. In the near future
temperature will increase, sea level will rise, and incessant rainfall events will increase in a whole
there will be an accentuation of extreme events. These extreme events will affect the forest resources
and biodiversity of Bangladesh. For example only 0.5 meter sea level rise will inundate the whole
Sundarbans. So for ensuring habitat and sustainable environment for the present and future

The Effects Of Self Deception In Macbeth
Throughout Macbeth, things are never what they appear to be. Macbeth, similar to other works of
Shakespeare, is a story of pain and tragedy. At the start, King Duncan has a brave and loyal Thane
called Macbeth. After three witches prophesize that Macbeth is destined to become king himself,
Macbeth is overwhelmed with ambition and greed. Reinforced by the prophecy and his wife s
encouragement, he takes the throne by murdering King Duncan. Eventually, Macbeth s paranoia, and
guilt lead him to conduct multiple murders to maintain his power. His trust in the witches results in his
defeat and overthrow as he is murdered by those he has wronged. In this play Shakespeare uses
language, conflict, and the supernatural to illustrate deception and the effects of self deception.
Shakespeare s use of language in select scenes reveals Lady Macbeth s characters intentions. Lady
Macbeth is devious when it comes to persuading others, like her husband, into believing things that
are not true. This is shown through the lines, Your hand, your tongue. Look like th innocent flower,/
But be the serpent under t. (I.v. 56 57). This is spoken to Macbeth and shows how she is manipulating
him into something he is not by telling him he must act innocent but be corrupt on the inside. Lady
Macbeth later decides that she can use this manipulation to push her husband s ambition to be king.

How Did Benjamin Rush Influence The American Revolution
Benjamin Rush was an enthusiastic patriot who played an active role in facilitating the American

opposition to slavery and his friendships with other patriots such as Benjamin Franklin.

How Media Affects Electronic Media
With the increase in use of various electronic media, such as television, computers, video games,
mobile telephones and audio devices, it is becoming increasingly important to investigate how media
use is affecting individuals lifestyles. In 2011, the National Sleep Foundation published the results of a
poll they conducted regarding the sleep habits of Americans across the country. They surveyed over
1000 adults asking general questions about their routine before bed and while asleep. This pie chart
here on the left, was taken directly from the official report. The participants were asked whether they

The Evolution Of Health Care Industry
The evolution of health care industry has taken a taken a drastic turn for employers and healthcare

insurance was typically purchased for large organizations; yet drastically lacked in medium to small

economic downturn many organizations removed additional employees to bare minimum. This trend
created a huge spike in uninsured employees or not employed. These larger organizations had more

interesting perspective was how health insurance companies insured organizations with formula to
possible health conditions probability. In the health insurance company they take into account the
probability of someone developing a serious health conditions resulting in more money invested

Rate Of Osmosis
As suggested by the graph above and the data obtained through the conduction of the experiment, an
evident correlation between the surface area to volume ration and the rate of osmosis can be implied.
As can be seen from the graph, as the surface area and volume ratio of the cube is increased, the %
change in mass is decreased (as suggested by the % change in mass of 2 x 2 x 2 cube). In a
contradicting manner, as the SA: V of the potato cube in decreased, the % change in mass of the
potato cube in increased (as suggested by the % change in mass of 1 x 1 x 1 cube). This pattern in the
data reinforces the hypothesising statement, which stated that if the size of potato is larger, then the
rate of osmosis would be gradual due to its smaller volume to surface area ratio, whereas if the size of
the potato is smaller, then the rate of osmosis would be faster.
One explanation for the correlation between these variables is that an object with a large SA:V ratio

34.09 % and 0.99 % respectively. One probable explanation for this discrepancy in the results is that
the groups 4 and 6 may have conducted the experiment incorrectly. Potential factors that may have
caused these inconsistencies in results, include a damaged weighing scale and a damaged timer, which
could ve misled the experimenters of groups 4 and 6 by displaying the incorrect time. This would

Socioeconomics, as defined by The American Psychological Association, is commonly conceptualized
as the social standing or class of an individual or group. It is often measured as a combination of

that if all Canadians were as healthy as the top 20 percent of income earners, there would be
approximately 40,000 fewer deaths each year. (Bryant, 2014, para. 4) According to the US Census

What Were The Consequences Of German Imperialism
Germans undertook extensive colonialism in south west Africa, and decided that the land should no

of natives on the land. At this time there were two major native African ethnic groups present. The

harsh and brutal, any type of resistance was met with brutality and severe consequences. The clash
between cultures would lead to a four year war that ended with the systematic murder and
extermination of the ethnic groups: Nama, and Herero. The war officially started in January of 1904
when Herero people attacked farms owned by Germans. Around one hundred and thirty people were

  • 2. The World Of The Age Of Medi Entertainment And Relevancy Living in the Age of Media: Entertainment and Relevancy The significant presence of electronic media has gradually become a crisis of society s problems. Though it seems to go unnoticed by most, the obtainment of our information that we are receiving is a mere means of entertainment thanks to the universalization of media and television. Postman discusses the consequences of living in a technologically advanced age by discussing four aspects of society that are most affected: the news, religion, politics, and education. According to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), recession is the period when business activities have reached its peak and a fall starts. This continues until the time when those business activities reach the bottom. In average, a recession lasts for one year. Depression on the other hand is a downturn in economic activity. A great example is the Great Depression of 1930. The term recession was coined during this period in order to differentiate the event of 1930 from the smaller economic declines of 1910 and 1913 (Smiley, 2008). So we can lightly say that a depression can be said to be a recession that lasts longer and its business activity decline is larger. Having defined both the recession and depression, we can point out the difference. The changes in GNP are the best test to use in getting the differences between the two terms. For a depression, the GNP declines by more than 10 per cent (Moffat, n.d). On the other hand a recession is an economic decline that is less severe. A number of world leaders have warmed of the looming economic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The nurses walking around with files and stethoscopes around their necks. I was officially at the doctor s office. I had checked in and sitting in pain with all these noises going on, thinking that it would be just a regular visit. But little did I know, from that day on it would be a life changing experience to my identity. My whole life s been a chase, it s a gift and a curse. Was on my way up to the top then slipped into reverse. I was at the doctor s office for a messed up shoulder. Not thinking he would say anything about getting older. They had me sit patiently in pain while they were scanning away my arm to see what was the cause of all this. The doc showed me the x rays and said you ll be fine, it s just a frozen shoulder blade. But do you see this here ? I immediately said yeah like, what is it? He points his finger at the x ray and tells me what no 18 year old, 5 foot 5 boy that is playing hockey wants to hear, you re done growing. My stiffened like I had seen a ghost. My heart had stopped like something was stuck in my throat. I could feel the rapids of water hit the dam behind my eyes and when I stepped outside, that dam broke. I couldn t hold the tears back. • 10. Psychological Egoism Theory Essay The theory of psychological egoism is indeed plausible. The meaning of plausible in the context of this paper refers to the validity or the conceivability of the theory in question, to explain the nature and motivation of human behavior (Hinman, 2007). Human actions are motivated by the satisfaction obtained after completing a task that they are involved in. For example, Mother Teresa was satisfied by her benevolent actions and activities that she spent her life doing. As Hinman (2007) points out, she was likely to reduce in activity if she experienced any dissatisfaction in her endeavors. Therefore, no matter how much altruism theorists try to argue about the degree of inclination of an action towards non self interest, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his argument, Hinman (2007) asserts that every action that people engage in is motivated by self interests or pleasure or direct benefits the agent or to avoid living with guilt in the future. This is the nature of human beings. Even the most altruistic action is in actual sense motivated by the egocentric desire of the actor (Hugh, 1898). Hugh (1898) further argues that people recognize that they are motivated, in most if not all cases by their need to advance their self interest. However, when they reflect on this issue, they are mistaken by the urge to believe that the truth is the centrally of this. Actions that are meant to show concern for other people, such as helping the needy are self satisfying to the actor, and they expect that they will their reputation in the society and obtain returned favors. A good example is that of political aspirant who might engage in a lot of philanthropic activities in his community to win the support of his constituents. Helping people is a noble thing to do especially when it comes to the application of natural justice, where human beings help those who are suffering. There is always a hidden intention in every action that is obscured by the notion of philanthropy. Returned favors expectation might not be the ultimate intention as to why people may perform an act (Michael, 1978). However, it will be illogical to say that these intentions were ... That motto is something that holds true for the many average lives that partake in the New World community and can even apply to the Reservations that are explained throughout the book. He s married and lives a normal lifestyle in an unspecified city in a society where reading is illegal, and being intellectual is frowned upon. That would be the exposition of the story. The story follows the generations of the Buendía family in the town of Macondo. However, the spiral the family follows collapses inward on itself with each passing generation, eventually culminating with Aureliano Babilonia, the last survivor of the Buendía family. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future obsession of studying Melquíades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and comfort, and naturally absorbs himself into every aspect of the room. This suggests that, without an adequate amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy, leading to a more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions and developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely devoid of human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of Aureliano Segundo, his grandfather, as if he were not a human child but the encyclopedia definition of a cannibal (294). Many people I know argue that censorship should not be commonplace in the media, in social media, or even in the entire Internet. • 28. Essay about Coral Divers Resort Case Study Problem: Coral Divers Resort is a safe and knowledgeable scuba diving resort with a beach front location. Over the past three years revenues have declined and Greywell suffered a $5, 174 in losses in 1994. Coral Divers Resort needs to do something before business gets worse and Jonathan Greywell and his resort go out of business. The first option that Greywell has would be to move Coral Divers Resort to New Providence Island in the Bahamas. The island has a large population, and Nassau the capital has the most developed tourist attractions in the Bahamas. No one on Greywell s staff was very excited about the shark feeding diving and most of them would have to be replaced. Novice divers would not be able to take advantage of adventure diving because it requires previous experience and a high skill level. The other concern associated with adventure diving would be the safety risks and skill level of younger divers vacationing with their parents. The market for adventure diving is doing well, but already seems to be saturated with competitors. There would also be a lack of returning customers because adventure diving would most likely be a one time experience for most tourists. The third and final option would be for Greywell to pair with Rascal s, a travel company and target the rapidly growing family market segment. The current average age of a new diver is 36, and many of them have children. A Rascal s strategy would give busy parents the option of bringing their children with them on a dive vacation. The Rascal s option offers many strengths, and promises Coral Divers Resort an increase of 40% for off season business. Rascal s is well established in the industry that would bring a brand ... Did you ever wonder if there was a special technique? In the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar Antony turns a shocked, confused crowd of mourners into an angry mob of rioters when speaking to them. He does this by using these three persuasive techniques, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. Ethos is a technique that persuades through ethics and morals, Pathos persuades through emotion, and Logos is a technique that uses logic and reasoning. In the play Antony persuades the crowd using a technique called ethos. For example, Antony says I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke, but here I am to speak what I do know . At the start, King Duncan has a brave and loyal Thane called Macbeth. After three witches prophesize that Macbeth is destined to become king himself, Macbeth is overwhelmed with ambition and greed. Reinforced by the prophecy and his wife s encouragement, he takes the throne by murdering King Duncan. Eventually, Macbeth s paranoia, and guilt lead him to conduct multiple murders to maintain his power. Rate Of Osmosis As suggested by the graph above and the data obtained through the conduction of the experiment, an evident correlation between the surface area to volume ration and the rate of osmosis can be implied. As can be seen from the graph, as the surface area and volume ratio of the cube is increased, the % change in mass is decreased (as suggested by the % change in mass of 2 x 2 x 2 cube). In a contradicting manner, as the SA: V of the potato cube in decreased, the % change in mass of the potato cube in increased (as suggested by the % change in mass of 1 x 1 x 1 cube). This pattern in the data reinforces the hypothesising statement, which stated that if the size of potato is larger, then the rate of osmosis would be gradual due to its smaller volume to surface area ratio, whereas if the size of the potato is smaller, then the rate of osmosis would be faster. One explanation for the correlation between these variables is that an object with a large SA:V ratio comprises of a smaller surface for the chemical/substance (salt solution) to move across, allowing more compounds ...
