Abstract
This paper shows cultural differences between Iranians, Chinese and Indians in
business negotiations based on interviews with three businessmen: an American
citizen who set up a general trading company in China, an Iranian Canadian citizen
who has a trading company in Iran, and an Indian America who set up a business in
India. The interview questions focused on cultural elements based on Hofstede s
research: power distance, low high context, and general business behavior in these
countries.
Lessons Learned Report
Knowledge of other cultures is one of the keys to being successful in business
dealings. This paper reports on real experiences in cross cultural business interactions
from three different perspectives. I interviewed three successful businessmen, one
who worked with Iranians, one with Chinese, and one with Indians. I interviewed
them independently, and my questions covered four different elements: cultural
behavior in business negotiations, management as symbol of high power distance in
the companies, knowledge of high context or low context culture, and finally

Quail rising has become an important poultry business in the world.
The objective of this study was to carry out survival analysis to evaluate and quantify
risk factors involved in mortality of Japanese quail. Survival analysis and Cox
proportional hazards model were used to describe mortality in Japanese quail with
hatch weight and post hatch body weight as a risk factors. Weight is a variable
change with time, so it is considered time dependent covariate.
Survival function distribution and Kaplain Meier curve showed that mortality was
higher in the line selected for high compared to low and control line. Log rank test
used for testing equality of survival distributions for the different levels of selected
lines (Log Rank value = 9.898) resulted P value = 0.007** which is a highly
significant.
Mortality declined when post hatch body weight increased. Body weight at hatch did
not significantly affect mortality. However, post hatch body weight affects mortality
significantly with P value (0.011) and hazard ratio (1.009). Any factor that
inп¬‚uences growth after hatching may likely have a direct impact on mortality.
Deficiency of water, feed, warmth, and potential negative social interaction are

Mental toughness is not a new concept in sport, but is generally misunderstood.
Coaches design programmes to develop mentally tough athletes, predominately in
professional sport, to separate elite performers from good performers (Gould,
Jackson, Finch, 1993) as physical talent itself is not the only component that can lead
an athlete to success (Gucciardi, Gordon, Dimmock, 2008).
The main problems with mental toughness are the inconsistency of its definition, and
a lack of research into clearly defining mental toughness and what attributes are
required to be mentally tough (Jones et al, 2002). The earliest definition of mental
toughness was provided by Cattell (1957), suggesting mental toughness was an
important personality trait, supported by Kroll (1967). Loehr (1982, 1986, 1994)
attempted to define mental toughness, suggesting mental toughness is the ability to
use energy positively during crises and the possession of positive attitudes towards
challenging and demanding situations , although this definition lacked scientific

Introduction
Apollo 13 was the third NASA mission to attempt to land on the moon. Apollo 13
was set to launch on April 11, 1970. A sequence of events caused the three astronauts
to abort their mission, and they were forced to return to Earth. Almost three days
after launch there was an explosion in the second oxygen tank in the service module.
This explosion caused the first tank to rupture a valve. Apollo 13 spacecraft began to
lose oxygen rapidly. The loss of oxygen lead to rapid loss of power and water.
