Population Of India Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Population of India" can be both challenging and intriguing.
The difficulty lies in the vastness and complexity of the subject matter. India, with its diverse
demographic landscape, presents a multitude of factors that need to be addressed
comprehensively in the essay.
Firstly, the sheer size and diversity of the Indian population pose a challenge. The essay would
require a nuanced understanding of the various demographic factors such as age distribution,
urbanization, and regional variations. Gathering accurate and up-to-date statistics is crucial,
considering the dynamic nature of population trends.
Secondly, delving into the causes and consequences of India's population growth demands
thorough research. Issues such as fertility rates, healthcare, education, and socio-economic
factors play a pivotal role. Analyzing these aspects requires a deep exploration of historical,
cultural, and policy dimensions.
Furthermore, tackling the implications of a large population on India's economy, environment,
and social structure adds another layer of complexity. Balancing statistical data with qualitative
insights is essential for providing a comprehensive perspective.
Crafting a coherent structure for the essay is another aspect that requires careful consideration.
Developing a clear introduction that outlines the scope of the essay, followed by well-organized
body paragraphs and a conclusive summary, is crucial for conveying the information effectively.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the population of India demands a meticulous approach to
research, organization, and analysis. However, the exploration of such a multifaceted topic can
also be intellectually rewarding, offering a chance to deepen one's understanding of demographic
challenges and their broader implications.

Comparing Ocean City, MD To Fenwick Island
What isn t at the beach? The beach is a relaxing and comfortable place to be with
friends and family. Whether it s taking a walk on the beach as the golden sand
oozes under your toes or relaxing on the beach as the bright sun beams on your
skin. Suddenly you get hot, so you decide to take a swim as the waves smash into
the shore. If you get hungry, conveniently there s a surplus of foods to choose from
to satisfy your cravings. If you get bored, games, rides and amusement rides are
available at your fingertips. From beach to beach, Ocean City, MD to Assateague
Island, the shores have a lot to offer. The coastlines which are 18 miles apart, are
vastly different due to the history and founders of the east coast beaches. You ll
observe the benefits they have to offer their communities and see just how important
these places are.

What Is The Difference Between Four Freedom And

The freedom in the United States has been threatened many times. It is up to our
leaders that we elect to be able to defend that freedom. President Roosevelt and
President Kennedy had both given speeches to show their veiws on protecting the
United States s freedom. Both Roosevelt s Four Freedoms speech and Kennedy s
inaugural address state how our freedom is threatened and how they plan on
protecting and defending our freedom. However Roosevelt s speech he more talked
about wanted to defend and fight against the threat to our freedom, whereas
Kennedy s speech he talked more about wanting the American people to
communicate and come together peacefully. As stated by Roosevelt, As a nation,
we may take pride in the fact that we are soft hearted; but we cannot afford to be
soft hearted (19). During the time that Roosevelt gave his speech, Roosevelt was
addressing Congress trying to get them to move the nation away from a foreign
policy of neutrality. Roosevelt thought this way because he had seen others fall to
Hitler s regime. He wanted the people to stand up and take control over their lives,he
wanted them to fight.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The President wanted people to stand up and fight for their beliefs. American freedom
was being threatened and Roosevelt felt that the United States government had great
responsibilities and people were counting on them to make the right decision (29).
Freedom was described in this speech as the basic rights that the government should
be able to give the people. It was said that the basic rights of freedom should never
be lost or forgotten during times of hardship. Freedom was also described in this
speech as, the supremacy of human rights everywhere (Roosevelt
What Are The Forecasting Needs Of A Seasoned Idea Start...
1.QUESTION: What are the forecasting needs of a seasoned idea start up and a new
idea start up?
Answer: Seasoned idea start up and New idea start up need to hold different types
forecasting. A new idea start up needs a forecasting method based around location,
market research, and product material cost. A seasoned idea start up requires a
forecasting that revolves more around potential market risk, potential, growth, and
comparable products.
2.QUESTION: what are the external forces that we cannot control within a business?
Answer: Factors that we cannot control within a business is better known as External
Forces. Ventures require correct planning in order to be financed correctly. This
entails a detailed plan an entrepreneur hopes to carrying out, however, a minor
external factor can be brought into the mix in any moment that can change that plan
drastically. An example of an external factor crippling certain businesses is the
housing bubble of 2008. Even if businesses had nothing to do with the real estate
market some of their businesses failed due to the fact that they could not gather
finances to keep their doors open and business running. External factors are not just
limited to economic downturns, however, they include factors such as laws and
regulations and trends. If your product or service becomes highly regulated, then
laws and regulations are a major external factor. Trends also lead to major external
forces for businesses because if their product or service

The Importance Of Special Education For Special Services
When precious metals and jewels are mined from the earth they are not always in a
presentable form. They have to go through a process to make them shine and sparkle.
There are students that are not always ready for the world, and they need to go
through a process to help make them the best that they can be. In Special Education
there is a 10 step process that is put in place to make sure that students that need that
extra help can receive it and have the opportunity to become their best self. The
process covers from the beginning of the process which includes identifying if a
child qualifies for special educationor related services to the end of the process
which is the student being evaluated. The process will be examined thoroughly
throughout this paper using the case study of a student named Bryanna that is in
third grade and is at risk in reading and math. The initial step in the special
education process is to identify if a child needs special services. Bryanna has been
spotted by here teachers as a student that is struggling in math and reading. Her test
scores being as low as they have red flagged her for student that might need more help
than others. This can be initiated by an administrator, teacher, or a parent that may
think that a student needs to evaluate. In any situation a parent will have to give the
school a written consent for their child to be evaluated. The school system has 60
days to complete the evaluation of the student. In Bryanna s situation,

Positive effect of Advertisement
The positive side of advertising is that it makes you aware that a product or service is
available. New and improved products are developed all the time and we can t be
expected to keep track of these developments ourselves. So its manufacturer helps us
in our lack of awareness and tells us: Our new and improved product is now even
better! Go out and buy it!
Advertising can also be used to generate awareness among public that which
product they use and to which product they can say no. It can also be used to
educate people about certain diseases or danger. Even the backward people are now
aware of many diseases and their problems. And all these credits goes to proper
advertising. Diseases like Polio could never been controlled if the timings for polio
drops aren t advertised regularly.
Advertising can also be used to inform public about social events like concerts and
concerts. Charity can use media to advertise about the diseases and encourage people
for aids. Social organizations and NGOs can use the mean of advertisement for
helping their campaigns. Seeking help through advertisement during epidemics or

Anglo Saxon Culture In Beowulf
Anglo Saxons conquered most of the British Isle in the centuries following the
withdrawal of the Roman Empire. While they were Germanic pagans, they crossed
the North Sea to Britain bringing their ideals with them in 449 AD. They valued
many things in their culture; courage, religion, gratitude, strength, storytelling,
loyalty, and morals are among some of the concepts they held in high regard.
Anglo Saxons spent their lives gathered in their lord s great hall to eat, drink, and
listen to songs and stories. They recited and enjoyed many stories about brave
warrior and their adventures. The storyteller, called a scope, would often play music
to accompany the songs and poems on a small harp or a lyre (Encyclopedia
Britannica, n.d.). A popular story told by Anglo Saxons is the story of Beowulfand
Grendel. Beowulf is the story of a heroic prince who kills a fierce man eating
monster named Grendel and his equally horrid mother. The story was first written in
England in the late 1st millennium by newly converted Anglo Saxon Christians.
Anglo Saxons were pagans until they were converted to Christians by Irish and
Roman missionaries in the 597 AD. A mix of Christian and Pagan philosophy in
Beowulf and Grendel can be found throughout the story. Beowulf is victorious only
through the protection of God. In Further Celebration at Heorot, Hrothgar reminds
Beowulf of the Greek tragedians. He conveyed that a tragic fall is inevitable if pride
is untempered by humility. His warning
Strengths And Weaknesses Of Data Model

1.Describe and compare 3 data models outlining their strengths and weaknesses with
each other.
Connolly and Begg (2009) defines a data model as an integrated collection of
concepts for describing and manipulating data, relations between data, and
constraints on the data in an organization. Simply, a data model is a representation
of how the different types of data interact. They can be categorized into three main
broad aspects, which are object based, record based and physical data model. The
object based model include the Entity Relationship, Semantic, Functional and Object
Oriented Model. The record based comprise of Relational Data Model, Network
Model and the Hierarchical Model. The physical data model describe how data is
stored in the computer, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similar to the network data model, data is represented as collections of records and
relationships are represented by sets. This model only permits a node to have one
parent, this makes it efficient for searching if all desired access paths follow the
parent child linkages. This makes one to many relationships well represented within
the hierarchical model. The main difference between the network data model and the
hierarchical data model, is that in the network model a child could have a many to
many relationship with its parent entity. Similarly, just like the network data model,
the hierarchical data model is simple and easy to design.
The main limitation of record based data models like the network and hierarchical is
they do not provide adequate facilities for explicitly specifying constraints on the data
(Connolly 2009). Another limitation of the network and hierarchical model is that
they require the user to have knowledge of the physical database being accessed,
whereas the relational data model provides a substantial amount of data
independence. (Connolly
Field Programmable Gate Array ( Fpgas )
ABSTRACT:
Placements of logical blocks in FPGA use many optimization algorithms in heuristic
manner. Main objective is to provide minimization in wire length during the task
placement inside Reconfigurable FPGAs, which will decrease the area, power and
delay and increase the speed of execution. Optimization algorithms are applied in the
Benchmark circuits and the results are compared. Due to the technological
advancement, density of the devices increases so that necessitates improvement in
minimization of wire length. Hence this project, proposes an optimum solution for
wire length minimization.

Dentistry History
Believe it or not, there has been a time where brushing your teeth, flossing after
meals, and visiting the dentist for check ups was not a normal process. Like
everything else in in the world, dentistry derived from a specific point in history and
has been practiced in ancient times. It has come along way since then, and has been a
gradual process, but eventually, Dentistryhas become a well known career that
everyone can distinguish today.
Beginning with the ancient origins of dentistry, we see the first indication of
management and treatment for the mouth around 7000 BC. At this time, the Indus

The Guide To Life: The Book of Proverbs

The book that I studied was the Book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs is part of
the Books of Wisdom in the Old Testament of The Bible. The books in the wisdom
section of The Bible (includes the book of Job, Psalms, Proverbs,Ecclesiastes, Song
of Songs, Book of Wisdom and Sirach) are meant to try and spread wisdom to the
reader and show the right way, or better ways to live your life in faith. The book of
Proverbs is made up of guides on how to live a faithful life, and how to deal with
different situations that you may come across in your life.
Proverbs is a collection of instructions and sayings composed into a book
(usccb.org, 2016). The Book of Proverbs is made up of both long and short guides
to life that have to deal with certain situations. These passages can range from a
length of seven verses to thirteen chapters. The situations that are written about are
very common in today s society. These situations that are written about in Proverbs
range from laziness to laughter. Proverbs includes two types of writings: long
instructions that are addressed to younger people and shorter sayings that are meant
for all ages. Parallelism, which is the state of being parallel to something, or
corresponding to something is very common in The Book of Proverbs. The book of
Proverbs stresses that faith is a matter of right
Behind Me Dips Eternity
Behind Me dips Eternity , by Emily Dickinson displays poetic excellence because,
she avoids the three errors of decent poetry (very didactic, overly sentimental, and
over use of figurative language). The theme of the poem is, when people are sad,
they look for an end but are stuck in the middle till death. In the story the speaker is
depressed, she wants to die but will not come to do it herself. Her only salvation is
hope that she will reach immortality or eternity. She cannot come to kill herself
because she is Christian, the Christian belief is that committing suicide will not allow
you access into Heaven. In the first stanza, Dickinson describes what she sees in
front of her and behind her (Immortality and Eternity). In between these two hopes
stands the speakers life, a depressing and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the next stanza, the speaker goes on to describe the Christian view of Heave; the
kingdom with one eternal ruler (God). Then she talks about Jesus, the prince of
Heaven, and son of none meaning that no human can claim Jesus as his/her son
because Jesus father is God himself. The Prince s dynasty is eternal, meaning that
there ruling will go on forever. In the next stanza, she begins by say that there is a
miracle in front of her and a miracle behind her (Immortality and Eternity). She then
describes her life as a little island in the sea; the island has a beautiful view in front
and behind it. But all the island ever receives is maelstrom. The overall message of
the poem is death and despair, death because the speaker looks forward to her end
but cannot come to do it herself because she has a strong Christian belief against it.
Despair because the speaker has a depressing and tumult life, and the only thing that
keeps the speaker going is hope that she will die soon and reach either immortality or
eternity. To conclude, the poem displays poetic excellence in the story alone, but I
will show you how the poem triumphs by avoiding the fundamental mistakes a
regular poem

The Wage Gap, Worker Discrimination And Varying...
In terms of attributing to the wage gap, worker discrimination and varying
preferences occurs largely based on views surrounding what jobs are male or female
dominated. Although worker discrimination and wage discrepancies are a reality in
Brazil, the labor market conditions for women are becoming better over time. Despite
gender segregation in the labormarket, the wages of women are sometimes evenly or
positively affected. For instance, For industries and occupations where women
receive higher remuneration than men, we observe that women have higher education
levels, indicating that their higher remuneration is due to individual characteristics
(Madalozzo 165). Even though a positive correlation has been observed regarding
women s education level and wage, in general, men still benefit more based on their
individual characteristics, which is why they are generally paid more. According to
Madalozzo, This difference in pay is decreasing but was still a significant 15.4
percent, on average, in 2007, and ...the present study improves the quantification of
this wage gap, showing that the trend of a decreasing gap remains, but is losing pace
overtime (165 66). In order to combat the presence of the wage gap, policies regarding
bettering women s education and incentivizing women to enter the labor market
should be implemented because the current system discourages women to enter the
market. According to Galor and Weil, ...increasing women s relative wages reduces

The Irish Revival Poem
Still after the official Irish Independence in 1922, the Irish people needed to find an
identity free of the English influence but also of the Catholic morality and the
values celebrated by the Revival, an identity which could be in step with the times
and truly represent them. It was a particularly difficult task for intellectuals and
writers. They found themselves almost shut up by Irish censorship and rejected by
the bigotry that mostly characterized the middle class society for decades after the
Independence. Michael O Donovan in a speech about censorship in 1962 said that
writers had to face the bookless homes, the horrible libraries each with its own little
group of censors, snuffing out sex that the Censorship Board had failed... Show more

In another poem, Revival, emerges a reflection about the Irish language. It seems like
people in the 1960s were still trying to learn it, as it was in the 1920s, but the
results do not give the impression of being good. In the poem, some people who
are grouped together to listen to him, an Irish poet, do not know Irish and he does
not have translations for his poems, almost symbolizing that he cannot make for
them the great effort of learning a language as difficult from Irish, How the Irish
Language Revived Me! / ( after nearly shaggin killing me, [...] (235). Then, we can
observe that in Davitt s poetry as in O Brien s fiction there is the contrast between
rural and urban experience, nonetheless the attitudes towards this theme are
different. If the two girls in The Country Girls move to Dublin in order to have a
new life, to free themselves from the constraints of their life in the countryside, in
Davitt s poem Limerick it is evident how, despite the fact that the poet can adapt to
the life in the city, there is a diffidence and uncomfortableness. The tone that he used
to depict urban people seems to be sarcastic I should learn to accept

I was questioning my abilities as a group leader, and even more so, as a counselor.
Through our first session, I learned that leading a group takes preparation, practice,
and confidence. The group process takes time and trust is not immediate. While you
may want cohesion amongst members, some members will be hesitant and
cautious. But instead of trying to fill the awkward silence, allow the space for
processing and reflection. While I was disclosing trying to create universality among
members and myself, there is a line that I have become more aware of. As a co
facilitator, I learned about the importance of trust. Without a relationship and
understanding, there is an imbalance between co facilitators. If the co leader
relationship doesn t model trust and egalitarian principles, then this could stall the
momentum of the group. As the first session progressed, I was pleased with how
participants were interacting with us, as we had tried to create a casual, open
environment.
As initial rapport continued to develop, our group moved towards the transition
stage. It was here group members true personalities began to emerge, while they
were still testing the waters. At least some degree of anxiety and fear still surfaced
within the group. Coming off our first session together, I did not necessarily feel as
though I was radiating confidence, but I decided to fake it until I make it . This

Out of all forms of literature currently known to man, educational textbooks are
arguably the least interesting. On top of being incredibly boring, textbooks,
especially American history ones, neglect to include the entirety of the information
that it should. Because American history textbooks wish only to paint the United
States in a bright light, the authors opt to leave out anything that may hurt its image.

Then, through the content of the rest of his book, he proves himself to be
hypocritical by having laid down an even more boring account of American history.
While he makes a respectable attempt by bringing forth potentially interesting flaws
in history, it really doesn t compensate for how disorganized the book is.
Loewen s first chapter to actually contain content about history deals with Americans
misinformed beliefs about apparent American heroes. He focuses primarily on
Helen Keller and Woodrow Wilson, both of which have little known facts about
them that may impede on their statuses as heroes. While informing his readers that
Keller was a radical socialist who supported the USSR and that Wilson led many
motiveless invasions of Latin American countries is, in itself, interesting information
to know. However, Loewen constantly jumps back and forth between the two heroes
and their descriptions, causing him to not only fail at accurately portraying his
message, but also send the reader into a boundless pit of confusion which only gets
worse as the book progresses.
Next up for this abomination of literature are two chapters about the frequently
discussed myths of the first settlers of America.
Carmen Essay
Themes of Seduction and Corruption in Carmen
Si je t aime; prends garde Г toi! This ending line from one of the most famous arias
in music history, The Habanera, is one of its most literal. It translates to if you love
me, guard yourself! , a fitting exclamation from the titular character Carmen. She has
often been described as a femme fatale, a mysterious and seductive woman whose
charms ensnare her lovers, though others urge audiences to view Carmen as the
emotional, vulnerable woman beyond that. In general, Georges Bizet s opera Carmen
has been called one of the most seductive operas of all time, despite being a
controversial, hostily received tragedy during Bizet s time. The opera, based on the
novella Carmen by Prosper MГ©rimГ©e, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Carmen herself is at once the battlefield, the enemy, and the prize, and JosГ© and
the rest of the characters are the ones warring over her. Carmen plays a game, the
rules of which she had no part in writing. The men offer her love, but love here
means sexual objectification, loss of individual identity, and submission to men.
In this realm, in fact, all the female characters are subject to the soldier s gaze as
sexual objects on display. Carmen believes she can only be true to her self defined
identity through death. Other sources, however, cite Carmen as a demon, a
predatory siren who lures men to their destruction, an objectification of
manipulative, destructive, female sexuality... an animal, a devil . Women, in
general, were often portrayed as an enemy in different artistic realms during this
time. In Balzac s Splendeurs et misГЁres des courtisanes, the character Esther, a
courtesan who commits suicide, is identified by Balzac as a Jew and describes her
as Oriental, mysterious, pagan, [and] sexually promiscuous, a diabolical, sadistic

violent, law breaking, diabolical, and generally uncivilized. (Due to the word gypsy

Anxiety Vs Anxiety
Panic Attacks vs Anxiety Attacks When the body feels like it has lost all control,
one goes numb. An anxiety disorder is triggered by events occurring around us. On
the other hand, panic attacks are caused by problems within the mind of the person
with a panic disorder. Both of the disorders are more likely to occur in women than in
men. Although anxietyattacks and panic attacks can be easily mistaken for one
another, there are many differences that set them apart. An anxiety disorder is caused
by external stress. External triggers may consist of traumatic events, socializing with
new people, and a heavy work load. When the anxiety attack is triggered, the patient
may experience an increase in heart rate which can lead to hyperventilation.... Show

Anxiety attacks occur strictly due to stress put on the person from the outside
world. Although panic attacks are spontaneous and do not have to be triggered by a
certain event, most stem from some underlying problem that usually is
undiscovered by the individual that has the disorder. Both disorders are associated
with depression. The disorders have such a control over their victims lifestyles and
the activities they chose to become involved in. These disorders are different in
many ways but will continue to provide similar obstacles to those who are affected by
The Death Of A Young Girl
In the year 1997 on the 28th of October, a young girl is born. She is small and
knows nothing of the world. But, her parents, they know she will do great things.
What they are, they have not a single clue, but even so, they want to see where she
will go. What they don t foresee though, is the pain she will have to go through
first to get there. She is different from most kids. She isn t attracted to the boys girls
in her class fawn over. She finds drawing characters in the shows she watches with
her godfather to be much more interesting. It gets her into trouble with the other kids.
So much so, that her parents are forced to transfer her to another school due to the
bullying. Sadly it does not end there. No matter where she went, she was bullied. But,
it doesn t matter. She has art, and that is all she needs.
Creating new things has always made me happy. Even from a young age, I would

useful and tangible is deeply human. There s something about it that releases stress

Importance Of Fuzzy Logic
6.1. IMPORTANCE OF FUZZY LOGIC Fuzzy logic is all about the relative
importance of precision: use as Fuzzy Logic Toolbox software with MATLAB
technical computing software as a tool for solving problems with fuzzy logic.
Fuzzy logic is a fascinating area of research because it does a good job of trading off
between significance and precision something that humans have been managing for a
very long time. In this sense, fuzzy logicis both old and new because, although the
modern and methodical science of fuzzy logic is still young, the concept of fuzzy
logic relies on age old skills of human reasoning. Fig 6.1 Fuzzy Description 6.2.
USAGE OF FUZZY LOGIC Fuzzy logic is a convenient way to map an input space
to an output space. Mapping input to output is the starting point for everything.
Consider the following examples:
With information about how good your service was at a restaurant, a fuzzy logic
system can tell you what the tip should be.
With your specification of how hot you want the water, a fuzzy logic system can
adjust the faucet valve to the right setting.
With information about how far away the subject of your photograph is, a fuzzy
logic system can focus the lens for you.

Between the input and the output, the preceding figure shows a black box that can
contain any number of things: fuzzy systems, linear systems, expert systems,
neural networks, differential equations, interpolated multi dimensional lookup
tables, or even a spiritual advisor, just to name a few of the possible options.
Clearly the list could go on and on.Of the dozens of ways to make the black box
work, it turns out that fuzzy is often the very best way. As Lotfi Zadeh, who is
considered to be the father of fuzzy logic, once remarked: In almost every case you
can build the same product without fuzzy logic, but fuzzy is faster and

Greek Architecture: History and Mechanics
Throughout history, there have been several significant architectural movements. The
last, and perhaps most enduring movement is that of Classic Greece. Although for
centuries, the architecture of ancient Greece has been admired, mimicked, and
replicated, its beginnings are somewhat surprising to one unfamiliar with the history
of the region. It is important to understand the history and mechanics of Classic Greek
architecture in order to fully appreciate its form, function, and beauty. Ancient Greek
architects strove for the precision and excellence of workmanship that are the
hallmarks of Greek art in general. The formulas they invented as early as the sixth ...

One of the most famous examples of Minoan architecture is ...the palace at Knossos,
their chief city, located near the northern coast of the island, was five stories high
and consisted of hundreds of interconnected rooms (Nardo, 12). Nardo states there is
evidence that these were highly sophisticated buildings with modern style plumbing
features, such as flush toilets and clay pipes carrying hot and cold water. As many
as thirty to fifty thousand people lived in the palace at Knossos and in the city that
surrounded it. And there were dozens, perhaps hundreds of Minoan cities and towns
on Crete and the islands of the Aegean Sea, the inlet of the Mediterranean Sea
bordering eastern Greece (Nardo, 12).
Because the Minoans kept few records and no histories, their culture had been
largely forgotten by the time of the classical Greeks. Yet a few vague memories of
Minoan days remained, passed on by word of mouth over the course of many
centuries (Nardo, 13). It is this little bit of information that was orally passed down
which became the foundation for the classical Greek style, when combined with the
Egyptian influences to come.
Greek Life was dominated by religion and so it is not surprising that the temples of
ancient Greece were the biggest and most beautiful. They also had a political
purpose as they were often built to celebrate civic power and pride, or offer
thanksgiving to the patron deity of a city for success in war (ancientgreece.com). The

The Animals were an integral part of the 1960s British rock scene. Captivating
audiences with singer Eric Burdon s deep, howling vocals, the band became
something to talk about. Coming over to the U.S. during the height of the British
Invasion, the band had legions of screaming fans fainting at the mere sight of them.
In late 1966 early 1967, the original line up disbanded and a new version was formed
under the name Eric Burdonthe Animals. Though the band didn t last more than a

promotors of the tour, who were secretly members of the Yakuza, were not happy
that the tour was delayed two months, and kidnapped the band s manager a couple

The information handled and manipulated by the other layers of an n tier system is
basically stored in a structured manner in a database. Take an example of any
organization. How do you think they store their employee and customer information?
Yes, they store it in a database. Imagine a website and where do you think the site
maintains the login information about its users? The answer is again, a database.
A relational database contains tables which are linked together. Each table contains
records which contain fields. A query can filter your records to show just the ones
that meet certain criteria or to arrange them in a particular order.

Relational Databases An Introduction
One of the most popularly used database models is the relational model. It was
developed by Edgar Codd in 1969. This model provides a declarative method for
specification of data and queries. In a relational model of a database, the database
users directly state the information they want to be retrieved from it and abstract
away from the responsibility of describing the data structures that are used to store
data. A database that confirms to the relational database model is known as a
relational database.
A relational database is a collection of relations or tables. The rows of a table in a
relational database are known as tuples and each column of a table is called an
attribute. By definition, a relation becomes a set of tuples having the same attributes.

Plastics And The Plastic Age
The current period in human history is referred to as the plastic age (CГіzar et al
2014). Plastic is synthetic polymers derived from petroleum (Vikas Dwarakish
2015), it is lightweight, inexpensive to produce and hailed as an industrial
achievement (Detloff Istel 2016). Moreover, plastic does not decompose, the durable
material simply breaks into smaller particles, pervading the water and marine life
(Detloff Istel 2016). Our current society has established a constant consume and
discard rhythm, fuelling the plasticeconomy . Marine plastic pollution mainly occurs
from land based plastic debris, comprised of: littering, incessant plastic bag use and
inappropriate disposal (Derriak 2002). Microplastics are pieces of plastic less than
five millimetres in size (Detloff Istel 2016). These particles account for 92% of the
plastics in the ocean (Shim Thomposon 2015). Microplastics have become
ubiquitous in the ocean, found as far as the Arctic and Antarctic seas (Obbard et al
2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015; Law Thompson 2014 as cited in Shim
Thomposon 2015). Plastic pollution is also significantly damaging the fragile marine
ecosystem, as well as massacring innocent marine creatures (Deltoff Istell 2016; Avio,
Gorbi Regoli 2017). Overall, preventing ocean plastic pollution is difficult, due to the
large volume of production and contamination, particularly microplastics, coupled
with inadequate disposal practices of plastic.
In 2014, 311 million tonnes of plastic were produced (Detloff Istel 2016), and half
was disposed of within the year (Singh Sharma 2016). The most commonly used
and plentiful polymers are: high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene,
polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate
(Andray Neal 2009 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). These polymers account for
90% of total plastic production, and as a result are the most common plastics found
in aquatic environments (Andray 2011 and Engel 2012 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok
2016). Plastic debris often migrates to form five subtropical gyres, large garbage
patches colloquially dubbed marine soup (Eriksen et al 2013; Weinstein 2009). It is
estimated five to thirteen tonnes of

Reflection On Head-To-Toe Assessments
This week, my shift at KLH was intense, but at the same time informative. I was
able to successfully meet my goal from last week of becoming more fluent with head

becoming much easier to conduct a full assessment without looking at my cheat

alternative medicine (CAM) into my practice, I was given the opportunity later on
during charting to recognize where I could have utilized them. Specifically, my client

Juvenile Delinquency Is An Integral Part Of Criminology
The greatest asset a nation has is in the form of children which form a major
portion of its population. So they should be allowed and provided opportunity to
become robust citizens, and to grow up physically fit, mentally alert and morally
healthy, being sufficiently endowed with skills and activations needed by the
society. Equal opportunities for development to all children during the period of
growth should be provided for reducing inequality and ensuring social justice, which
in turn would serve as an effective tool to curb delinquency in juveniles. Children are
expected to be obedient, respectful and imbibe virtues and good quality in them. Due
to various reasons children do not follow settled social and legal dictum. Juvenile
delinquency, as a legal concept is of recent origin. Juvenile delinquency is an integral
part of criminology. The two cannot be separated since one of the reasons for crime
and its continuance into adult life is the ineffective control and treatment of
juveniles. Juvenile delinquency is a big breading centre of criminals. The word
delinquency is derived from the Latin word delinquere meaning de i.e. away and
linquere i.e. to leave thus, meaning to leave or to abandon. Originally, the word had
an objective meaning as it referred to parents who neglected and abandoned their
children. In present day, it is used and applied to those children who indulge in
wrongful and harmful activities.
The term juvenile delinquency applies to violation of

Mayor Of Casterbridge Essay
The Mayor of Casterbridge is an English novel written by Thomas Hardy in 1886
and is an exploration into the values of common people, and the reliance on status to
achieve happiness. Michael Henchard is not unlike most men. He is tempered and
blind often by selfish wants and gains, but maintains a human aspect of misery that
is relatable. Man s inherent need and want of more transcend to other aspects such
and relationships(whether romantic or of friendship) and the disparity of man with a
need of want, and dissatisfaction. It is based upon character whether the man s
wants will help him and others or become his downfall. Henchard needs to want and
achieve more to feel complete and without it he feels like nothing. The Mayor of
Casterbridgetruly examines life as one of confusion and emptiness, but there is more
to be seen. The lesser known subtitle for the novel is A Man of Character and that
title sums the work justly. Henchard is a man whose name means everything to
him. Like for most men, it s utterance can bring a sense of awe or dread in a room,
depending on the status of the man. The story relies heavily upon his name being
one of nothing to something and then nothing again. Had Henchard not sold his
young family away,he would have been with them and maintained his low class, but
with them gone he now could prosper. While the town he travels to doesn t know it,
he is a man of low character, but can give the facade of otherwise. After he sells his

Genetic Engineering and Infertility
Children are the brightness of life. Children are what make many sad people
happy. Children are the future. This world is full of these tiny, energetic, innocent
creatures. Most of the people have the chance to be a parent and have a child, but
there are many that couldn t. These people have problems. They are infertile
people. These people wish to have kids. These people try so hard to fix their
problems. One of four couples is infertile or dealing with infertilityproblems in
developing countries, and one third to one half of these cases result from male
infertility ( Ethics for gene therapy). Blood test is what is used for measuring several
factors that affect infertility (Salk Study). The question becomes can theses infertile
people be parents? Based on many studies infertility can now be cured by gene
therapy.
There are many causes for male and female to be infertile. Infertility in men is
when they are unable to produce sperm. The key that tells this man is infertile is
changing in hair growth. ( Web Med) For male infertility there are many causes.
There are three factors: genetic defects, hormonal imbalances, and anatomical
problems. 90% of male infertility cases are due to low sperm count and poor sperm
quality or both. Men who live a healthy life style are more likely to produce a
healthy sperm. Smoking, alcohol, tight underwear, and stress are causes of infertility
too. There is a small percentage of male infertility cause by hormonal problems.

represented as well as how this image compares to reality. When one focuses on the
portrayal of women in Heart of Darkness, it becomes evident that the representation
of women in the novel reflects the ideology of women s role in society. As the
book was written and published in the eighteen hundreds, this is to be expected as
there was still a patriarchal society. The separate sphere and oppression is very
dominant in the story. The main character, Marlow, has a strong opinion of what a
woman s role is in society. He indirectly states that it is improper for women to have

In that same waiting room is another woman present who does not speak either, but
glances with an unconcerned wisdom and seemed uncanny and fateful (Conrad
11). As women did not have the freedom to express their thoughts, they might have
come across as mysterious. Marlow finds this woman mysterious and threatening
which connects to Beauvoir s idea of men not understanding women and
classifying them as angels or demons (De Beauvoir 1269). Beauvoir states that
Women are mystified, as the man who does not understand a woman is happy to
substitute an objective resistance for a subjective deficiency of mind; instead of
admitting his ignorance, he perceives the presence of a mystery outside himself:
an alibi, indeed, that flatters laziness and vanity at once (1268). These concepts
seem accurate in this novel especially when comparing Kurtz intended with the
native African woman. Kurtz fiancГ©e symbolizes the perfect example of how
women should be according to men. Women are shaped after biology and cultural
defined characteristics (Barry 117). This woman believes that this is how she is
supposed to be because this is how God and society intended it. She is an
oppressed woman in a domestic sphere devoted to her husband, the man she has to
thank for her status. Kurtz keeps referring to her as my intended which makes her
seem as yet another object that he owns. Comparing this to the native African
woman, who is wild, confident and more powerful which is shown by her ivory
jewelry, she is the opposite of the Western white woman. This makes her mysterious
and frightening. However, though her higher status and Marlow s fear towards her,
she is still a woman in the eyes of the white man and Kurtz s only interest in her
seems to be the ivory. She is his road to wealth which
State Of Ww2 ( Background )
State of WW2 (Background)
By 1945, the war between the Allies and Germany was slowly reaching its end. To
the west, Nazi leader Adolf Hitler s desperate counteroffensive against the Allies in
Belgium s Ardennes forest had ended in a total failure . As well as in the east, it
looked very hopeless for Germany(History.com Staff.). Meanwhile, the Western
Allies began considering the use of strategic bomb to fight against Germany s
stubborn defense. In January 1945, the Royal force began to consider plans for the
widespread bombing of cities in eastern Germany against Dresden and two other
cities(Hickman, Kennedy.). Also on February, the three leaders of the Allies, Franklin
Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill met at Yalta in the USSR and
compromised on their visions of the postwar World (History.com Staff. Bombing of
Dresden. ). The background is very significant because it shows the initial cause of
the bombing of Dresden.
The Yalta Conference
The topic of area bombing certain parts of Germany to end the World War II was
finalized in the Yalta Conference. The conference involved the Deputy Chief of the
Soviet General Staff, and General Aleksei Antonov . They had a talk about the
possibility of area bombing Germany and the possible cities they would target if they
were to bomb them. Some of the targets they discussed were Berlin and Dresden. In
the end, they ended the meeting with the final decision to bomb Dresden even though

It is up to our leaders that we elect to be able to defend that freedom. President Roosevelt and President Kennedy had both given speeches to show their veiws on protecting the United States s freedom. Both Roosevelt s Four Freedoms speech and Kennedy s inaugural address state how our freedom is threatened and how they plan on protecting and defending our freedom. However Roosevelt s speech he more talked about wanted to defend and fight against the threat to our freedom, whereas Kennedy s speech he talked more about wanting the American people to communicate and come together peacefully. As stated by Roosevelt, As a nation, we may take pride in the fact that we are soft hearted; but we cannot afford to be soft hearted (19). During the time that Roosevelt gave his speech, Roosevelt was addressing Congress trying to get them to move the nation away from a foreign policy of neutrality. A seasoned idea start up requires a forecasting that revolves more around potential market risk, potential, growth, and comparable products. 2.QUESTION: what are the external forces that we cannot control within a business? Answer: Factors that we cannot control within a business is better known as External Forces. Ventures require correct planning in order to be financed correctly. This entails a detailed plan an entrepreneur hopes to carrying out, however, a minor external factor can be brought into the mix in any moment that can change that plan drastically. An example of an external factor crippling certain businesses is the housing bubble of 2008. Even if businesses had nothing to do with the real estate market some of their businesses failed due to the fact that they could not gather finances to keep their doors open and business running. External factors are not just limited to economic downturns, however, they include factors such as laws and regulations and trends. If your product or service becomes highly regulated, then laws and regulations are a major external factor. Trends also lead to major external forces for businesses because if their product or service

They have to go through a process to make them shine and sparkle. There are students that are not always ready for the world, and they need to go through a process to help make them the best that they can be. In Special Education there is a 10 step process that is put in place to make sure that students that need that extra help can receive it and have the opportunity to become their best self. The process covers from the beginning of the process which includes identifying if a child qualifies for special educationor related services to the end of the process which is the student being evaluated. The process will be examined thoroughly throughout this paper using the case study of a student named Bryanna that is in third grade and is at risk in reading and math. The initial step in the special education process is to identify if a child needs special services. Bryanna has been spotted by here teachers as a student that is struggling in math and reading. Her test scores being as low as they have red flagged her for student that might need more help than others. This can be initiated by an administrator, teacher, or a parent that may think that a student needs to evaluate. In any situation a parent will have to give the school a written consent for their child to be evaluated. The school system has 60 days to complete the evaluation of the student. • 8. Anglo Saxon Culture In Beowulf Anglo Saxons conquered most of the British Isle in the centuries following the withdrawal of the Roman Empire. While they were Germanic pagans, they crossed the North Sea to Britain bringing their ideals with them in 449 AD. They valued many things in their culture; courage, religion, gratitude, strength, storytelling, loyalty, and morals are among some of the concepts they held in high regard. Anglo Saxons spent their lives gathered in their lord s great hall to eat, drink, and listen to songs and stories. They recited and enjoyed many stories about brave warrior and their adventures. The storyteller, called a scope, would often play music to accompany the songs and poems on a small harp or a lyre (Encyclopedia Britannica, n.d.). A popular story told by Anglo Saxons is the story of Beowulfand Grendel. Beowulf is the story of a heroic prince who kills a fierce man eating monster named Grendel and his equally horrid mother. The story was first written in England in the late 1st millennium by newly converted Anglo Saxon Christians. Anglo Saxons were pagans until they were converted to Christians by Irish and Roman missionaries in the 597 AD. A mix of Christian and Pagan philosophy in Beowulf and Grendel can be found throughout the story. Beowulf is victorious only through the protection of God. In Further Celebration at Heorot, Hrothgar reminds Beowulf of the Greek tragedians. He conveyed that a tragic fall is inevitable if pride is untempered by humility. His warning

Connolly and Begg (2009) defines a data model as an integrated collection of concepts for describing and manipulating data, relations between data, and constraints on the data in an organization. Simply, a data model is a representation of how the different types of data interact. They can be categorized into three main broad aspects, which are object based, record based and physical data model. The object based model include the Entity Relationship, Semantic, Functional and Object Oriented Model. The record based comprise of Relational Data Model, Network Model and the Hierarchical Model. Similar to the network data model, data is represented as collections of records and relationships are represented by sets. This model only permits a node to have one parent, this makes it efficient for searching if all desired access paths follow the parent child linkages. This makes one to many relationships well represented within the hierarchical model. The main difference between the network data model and the hierarchical data model, is that in the network model a child could have a many to many relationship with its parent entity. Similarly, just like the network data model, the hierarchical data model is simple and easy to design. The main limitation of record based data models like the network and hierarchical is they do not provide adequate facilities for explicitly specifying constraints on the data (Connolly 2009). Another limitation of the network and hierarchical model is that they require the user to have knowledge of the physical database being accessed, whereas the relational data model provides a substantial amount of data independence. The books in the wisdom section of The Bible (includes the book of Job, Psalms, Proverbs,Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Book of Wisdom and Sirach) are meant to try and spread wisdom to the reader and show the right way, or better ways to live your life in faith. The book of Proverbs is made up of guides on how to live a faithful life, and how to deal with different situations that you may come across in your life. Proverbs is a collection of instructions and sayings composed into a book (usccb.org, 2016). Behind Me Dips Eternity Behind Me dips Eternity , by Emily Dickinson displays poetic excellence because, she avoids the three errors of decent poetry (very didactic, overly sentimental, and over use of figurative language). The theme of the poem is, when people are sad, they look for an end but are stuck in the middle till death. In the story the speaker is depressed, she wants to die but will not come to do it herself. Her only salvation is hope that she will reach immortality or eternity. She cannot come to kill herself because she is Christian, the Christian belief is that committing suicide will not allow you access into Heaven. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the next stanza, the speaker goes on to describe the Christian view of Heave; the kingdom with one eternal ruler (God). Then she talks about Jesus, the prince of Heaven, and son of none meaning that no human can claim Jesus as his/her son because Jesus father is God himself. The Prince s dynasty is eternal, meaning that there ruling will go on forever. In the next stanza, she begins by say that there is a miracle in front of her and a miracle behind her (Immortality and Eternity). She then describes her life as a little island in the sea; the island has a beautiful view in front and behind it. But all the island ever receives is maelstrom. The overall message of the poem is death and despair, death because the speaker looks forward to her end but cannot come to do it herself because she has a strong Christian belief against it. Despair because the speaker has a depressing and tumult life, and the only thing that keeps the speaker going is hope that she will die soon and reach either immortality or eternity. To conclude, the poem displays poetic excellence in the story alone, but I will show you how the poem triumphs by avoiding the fundamental mistakes a regular poem

In terms of attributing to the wage gap, worker discrimination and varying preferences occurs largely based on views surrounding what jobs are male or female dominated. Although worker discrimination and wage discrepancies are a reality in Brazil, the labor market conditions for women are becoming better over time. Despite gender segregation in the labormarket, the wages of women are sometimes evenly or positively affected. For instance, For industries and occupations where women receive higher remuneration than men, we observe that women have higher education levels, indicating that their higher remuneration is due to individual characteristics (Madalozzo 165). Even though a positive correlation has been observed regarding women s education level and wage, in general, men still benefit more based on their individual characteristics, which is why they are generally paid more. It was a particularly difficult task for intellectuals and writers. They found themselves almost shut up by Irish censorship and rejected by the bigotry that mostly characterized the middle class society for decades after the Independence. Essay on A Critical Analysis of Lies My Teacher Told Me A Critical Analysis of:Lies My Teacher Told Me It would be better not to know so many things than to know so many things which are not so. FELIX OKOYE Out of all forms of literature currently known to man, educational textbooks are arguably the least interesting. On top of being incredibly boring, textbooks, especially American history ones, neglect to include the entirety of the information that it should. Because American history textbooks wish only to paint the United States in a bright light, the authors opt to leave out anything that may hurt its image. What Lies My Teacher Told Me attempts to do is lay out uncommonly known facts for the misinformed history students of today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, through the content of the rest of his book, he proves himself to be hypocritical by having laid down an even more boring account of American history. While he makes a respectable attempt by bringing forth potentially interesting flaws in history, it really doesn t compensate for how disorganized the book is. Loewen s first chapter to actually contain content about history deals with Americans misinformed beliefs about apparent American heroes. He focuses primarily on Helen Keller and Woodrow Wilson, both of which have little known facts about them that may impede on their statuses as heroes. While informing his readers that Keller was a radical socialist who supported the USSR and that Wilson led many motiveless invasions of Latin American countries is, in itself, interesting information to know. However, Loewen constantly jumps back and forth between the two heroes and their descriptions, causing him to not only fail at accurately portraying his message, but also send the reader into a boundless pit of confusion which only gets worse as the book progresses. Next up for this abomination of literature are two chapters about the frequently discussed myths of the first settlers of America.

This ending line from one of the most famous arias in music history, The Habanera, is one of its most literal. It translates to if you love me, guard yourself! , a fitting exclamation from the titular character Carmen. She has often been described as a femme fatale, a mysterious and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers, though others urge audiences to view Carmen as the emotional, vulnerable woman beyond that. In general, Georges Bizet s opera Carmen has been called one of the most seductive operas of all time, despite being a controversial, hostily received tragedy during Bizet s time. Carmen herself is at once the battlefield, the enemy, and the prize, and JosГ© and the rest of the characters are the ones warring over her. Carmen plays a game, the rules of which she had no part in writing. The men offer her love, but love here means sexual objectification, loss of individual identity, and submission to men. In this realm, in fact, all the female characters are subject to the soldier s gaze as sexual objects on display. Carmen believes she can only be true to her self defined identity through death. Other sources, however, cite Carmen as a demon, a predatory siren who lures men to their destruction, an objectification of manipulative, destructive, female sexuality... an animal, a devil . Women, in general, were often portrayed as an enemy in different artistic realms during this time. Fuzzy logic is a fascinating area of research because it does a good job of trading off between significance and precision something that humans have been managing for a very long time. In this sense, fuzzy logicis both old and new because, although the modern and methodical science of fuzzy logic is still young, the concept of fuzzy logic relies on age old skills of human reasoning. As many as thirty to fifty thousand people lived in the palace at Knossos and in the city that surrounded it. And there were dozens, perhaps hundreds of Minoan cities and towns on Crete and the islands of the Aegean Sea, the inlet of the Mediterranean Sea bordering eastern Greece (Nardo, 12). Because the Minoans kept few records and no histories, their culture had been largely forgotten by the time of the classical Greeks. Yet a few vague memories of Minoan days remained, passed on by word of mouth over the course of many centuries (Nardo, 13). It is this little bit of information that was orally passed down which became the foundation for the classical Greek style, when combined with the Egyptian influences to come. Greek Life was dominated by religion and so it is not surprising that the temples of ancient Greece were the biggest and most beautiful. They also had a political purpose as they were often built to celebrate civic power and pride, or offer thanksgiving to the patron deity of a city for success in war (ancientgreece.com). The

Each table contains records which contain fields. A query can filter your records to show just the ones that meet certain criteria or to arrange them in a particular order. [pic] Relational Databases An Introduction One of the most popularly used database models is the relational model. It was developed by Edgar Codd in 1969. This model provides a declarative method for specification of data and queries. In a relational model of a database, the database users directly state the information they want to be retrieved from it and abstract away from the responsibility of describing the data structures that are used to store data. A database that confirms to the relational database model is known as a relational database. A relational database is a collection of relations or tables. The rows of a table in a relational database are known as tuples and each column of a table is called an attribute. By definition, a relation becomes a set of tuples having the same attributes. • 34. Plastics And The Plastic Age The current period in human history is referred to as the plastic age (CГіzar et al 2014). Plastic is synthetic polymers derived from petroleum (Vikas Dwarakish 2015), it is lightweight, inexpensive to produce and hailed as an industrial achievement (Detloff Istel 2016). Moreover, plastic does not decompose, the durable material simply breaks into smaller particles, pervading the water and marine life (Detloff Istel 2016). Our current society has established a constant consume and discard rhythm, fuelling the plasticeconomy . Marine plastic pollution mainly occurs from land based plastic debris, comprised of: littering, incessant plastic bag use and inappropriate disposal (Derriak 2002). Microplastics are pieces of plastic less than five millimetres in size (Detloff Istel 2016). These particles account for 92% of the plastics in the ocean (Shim Thomposon 2015). Microplastics have become ubiquitous in the ocean, found as far as the Arctic and Antarctic seas (Obbard et al 2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015; Law Thompson 2014 as cited in Shim Thomposon 2015). Plastic pollution is also significantly damaging the fragile marine ecosystem, as well as massacring innocent marine creatures (Deltoff Istell 2016; Avio, Gorbi Regoli 2017). Overall, preventing ocean plastic pollution is difficult, due to the large volume of production and contamination, particularly microplastics, coupled with inadequate disposal practices of plastic. In 2014, 311 million tonnes of plastic were produced (Detloff Istel 2016), and half was disposed of within the year (Singh Sharma 2016). The most commonly used and plentiful polymers are: high density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene terephthalate (Andray Neal 2009 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). These polymers account for 90% of total plastic production, and as a result are the most common plastics found in aquatic environments (Andray 2011 and Engel 2012 as cited in Li, Tse and Fok 2016). Plastic debris often migrates to form five subtropical gyres, large garbage patches colloquially dubbed marine soup (Eriksen et al 2013; Weinstein 2009). It is estimated five to thirteen tonnes of

  • 40. Mayor Of Casterbridge Essay The Mayor of Casterbridge is an English novel written by Thomas Hardy in 1886 and is an exploration into the values of common people, and the reliance on status to achieve happiness. Michael Henchard is not unlike most men. He is tempered and blind often by selfish wants and gains, but maintains a human aspect of misery that is relatable. Man s inherent need and want of more transcend to other aspects such and relationships(whether romantic or of friendship) and the disparity of man with a need of want, and dissatisfaction. It is based upon character whether the man s wants will help him and others or become his downfall. Henchard needs to want and achieve more to feel complete and without it he feels like nothing. The Mayor of Casterbridgetruly examines life as one of confusion and emptiness, but there is more to be seen. The lesser known subtitle for the novel is A Man of Character and that title sums the work justly. Henchard is a man whose name means everything to him. Like for most men, it s utterance can bring a sense of awe or dread in a room, depending on the status of the man. The story relies heavily upon his name being one of nothing to something and then nothing again. • 42. How Is Heart Of Darkness Feminist Perspective This essay will take a feminist approach on Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. The main focus of this discussion lies with characterization, how women are represented as well as how this image compares to reality. When one focuses on the portrayal of women in Heart of Darkness, it becomes evident that the representation of women in the novel reflects the ideology of women s role in society. As the book was written and published in the eighteen hundreds, this is to be expected as there was still a patriarchal society. The separate sphere and oppression is very dominant in the story. The main character, Marlow, has a strong opinion of what a woman s role is in society. He indirectly states that it is improper for women to have a career... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In that same waiting room is another woman present who does not speak either, but glances with an unconcerned wisdom and seemed uncanny and fateful (Conrad 11). As women did not have the freedom to express their thoughts, they might have come across as mysterious. Marlow finds this woman mysterious and threatening which connects to Beauvoir s idea of men not understanding women and classifying them as angels or demons (De Beauvoir 1269). Beauvoir states that Women are mystified, as the man who does not understand a woman is happy to substitute an objective resistance for a subjective deficiency of mind; instead of admitting his ignorance, he perceives the presence of a mystery outside himself: an alibi, indeed, that flatters laziness and vanity at once (1268). These concepts seem accurate in this novel especially when comparing Kurtz intended with the native African woman. Kurtz fiancГ©e symbolizes the perfect example of how women should be according to men. Women are shaped after biology and cultural defined characteristics (Barry 117). This woman believes that this is how she is supposed to be because this is how God and society intended it. She is an oppressed woman in a domestic sphere devoted to her husband, the man she has to thank for her status. Kurtz keeps referring to her as my intended which makes her seem as yet another object that he owns. Comparing this to the native African woman, who is wild, confident and more powerful which is shown by her ivory jewelry, she is the opposite of the Western white woman. This makes her mysterious and frightening. However, though her higher status and Marlow s fear towards her, she is still a woman in the eyes of the white man and Kurtz s only interest in her seems to be the ivory. She is his road to wealth which
