Loss Of Stars Essay
On Earth, scientists estimate that there are over 7,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (seven
quintillion, five hundred quadrillion) grains of sand. It is believed that for each grain of sand on Earth,
there are over 10,000 stars in outer space. A star is a luminous ball of plasma held together by its own
gravity. However, every star has the same general chemical composition. Despite the seemingly
endless amount of stars in the sky, we can not yet see them all, which plays a huge factor in the
amount of stars we are able to observe. Each day, light from distant stars is reaching Earth from stars
that are millions of light years away from the Earth. The constant arrival of new stars into the
observable supports the idea that the universe is constantly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

determine the surface of this star, as it has a density of 0.000010 kg/m3 , less dense than the
atmosphere of the Earth at sea level. This red hypergiant is approximated to undergo a supernova
explosion within the next 100,000 years.
VX Sagittarii is a red hypergiant that is 4,900 light years away from Earth located in the constellation
Sagittarius. Although uncertain, the radius of this star ranges anywhere from 1,300 to 1,900 solar radii.

The Black Panther Tank Battalion Essay
The Black Panther Tank Battalion The 761st Black Panther Tank Battalion was the first African
American armored unit to see combat. Before and during mobilization for World War II, officials in
Washington, D.C., debated whether or not African American soldiers should be used in armored units.
Many military men and politicians believed that blacks did not have the brains, quickness or moral
stamina to fight in a war. Referring to his World War I experiences, Colonel James A. Moss,
commander of the 367th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Division, stated, quot;As fighting troops, the Negro
must be rated as second class material, this primarily to his inferior intelligence and lack of mental and
moral qualities. quot; Colonel Perry L. Miles, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In March 1941, 98 black enlisted men reported to Fort Knox, Ky., from Fort Custer, Mich., for
armored warfare training with the 758th Tank Battalion (light). The pioneer black tankers trained in
light tank operations, mechanics and related phases of mechanized warfare, as enlisted men from other
Army units joined their ranks. The 758th trained on the M 5 light tank, which carried a crew of four.
Powered by twin Cadillac engines, it could reach a maximum speed of 40 mph and had an open road
cruising range of 172 miles. It was armed with a .30 caliber machine gun mounted to fire along the
same axis as the tank s main armament, a 37mm cannon. When the tracer bullets from the .30 caliber
registered on a target, the cannon would be fired, hopefully scoring a direct hit. The M 5 was also
armed with two more .30 caliber machine guns, one on the turret and one in the bow. The light tank
was employed to provide fire support, mobility and crew protection in screening and reconnaissance
missions. The 5th Tank Group, commanded by Colonel LeRoy Nichols, was to be made up of black
enlisted personnel and white officers. With the 758th Tank Battalion in place, two more tank battalions
were needed to complete the 5th Tank Group. On March 15, 1942, the War Department ordered the
activation of the 761st Tank Battalion (light) at Camp Claiborne, La., with an authorized strength of

Cell Phones And Technology Essay
In 1973 the world s first cellphone was made. Although the first phone is not anything compared to the
latest iphone, it was a huge step back then. When the first mobile phone was made, it was hardly
portable and allowed very little talk time. Now phones are smaller than the average human hand and
you can talk however long you would like (as long as you have a charger). At first look, the invention
of the cell phone can be seen as a huge technological achievement, however once people open their
eyes they see how sad it truly is. So many people have lost touch with true communication and the
people around them. Even though technology shouldn t be as involved in our lives as it is, people still
see it as an essential to their everyday lives and they are constantly using it. Over the past decade there
has been an increase in the purchases of cell phones. As the company s improve the technology,
people have started to desire them more. Technology is no longer just a way to communicate with
others, but it is now a way of entertainment. People can now play games and watch movies on their
phones . Cell phones help people with work . You can look at emails, there are calculators, and
dictionaries. Technology has also helped people make relationships, whether that is a good thing or
bad thing is still undetermined. The popularity of cell phones has increased so much that children now
have them and parents use them as babysitters. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman says,

Expectancy Violation Theory Summary
Chiles and Roloff use Expectancy Violation Theory to understand the relationship between
expectations and responses to apologies. Chiles and Roloff clarify that EVT assumes that individuals
form expectations for the normative and prescriptive rules guiding (communicative) interactions with
others, and when those expectations are violated individuals become cognitively aroused. At that
point, based on factors such as the situation, the context, and the relationship itself, individuals
consciously or unconsciously attribute a valence, positive or negative, to the violation. EVT is one of
the most widely used theoretical perspectives on expectations and communication behavior, and has
been applied to a variety of novel contexts. However, no studies ... Show more content on

K., Bennett, M., and Goffman, E. Once again, using EVT as their perspective, this article focuses on
the degree to which people expect apologies to be accepted, the extent to which they are
accepted/rejected and how offenders view expected and unexpected responses. Chiles and Roloff
found that while accepting an apology is positively evaluated by apologizers, this relationship is
moderated by their expectations of acceptance prior to the actual response to the apology. According
to EVT, the stronger an expectation is, the more it matters whether an individual violates it or not. The
more an apologizer believes an apology will be accepted, the more positively they will view
adherence to this expectation. Consequently, violations or deviations from increasingly strong
expectations will be viewed more negatively. Drawing on the framework of EVT, the researchers
predict and confirm that acceptance of an apology would be positively related to the evaluation of said
response, but this relationship would be moderated by the expectations the apologizer had for
acceptance. Chiles and Roloff found that a limitation to their experiment is that communicative
behavior is the driving behavior to the response of an apology, not expectations. However,
expectations are still an important factor determinate whether or not a person will forgive someone
who has hurt

Quantitative Research Critique: Responsibilities of Public School Nurses
Nursing has many roles, allowing for a diverse field to choose from upon graduation. One of those
choices is the responsibility of a school nurse and consequently that of the entire population of the
public school for which he/she works. School Nurses in New Jersey: A Quantitative Inquiry on Roles
and Responsibilities by Cheryl A. Krause Parello and Kimika Samms will show how those
responsibilities have grown as it seeks to further previous research. Disease processes for children

chronic diseases present and nursing procedures administered in school) could be a question.
Hypothesis/Hypotheses Since the steady increase of students with chronic illnesses in public schools,
there has been an increase in the roles and responsibilities of school nurses (Krause Parello amp;
Kimika, 2010). This study looks to build upon other studies, but as well, it does look to prove this.
Study Variables The independent variables in this study are the nurses. With the study design being
non experimental, however, no manipulation takes place. The research is only being replicated exactly
as it was and so we would not expect to see any dependent study variables (Burns amp; Grove, 2011).
Conceptual Model/Theoretical Framework Betty Neuman s conceptual model of nursing is concerned
with the person as a whole and stresses prevention. She brought us primary, secondary, and tertiary
prevention (Nursing Theories, 2011). It is noted through the study of the health promotion/disease
prevention activities that the schools of New Jersey are required to have a wellness plan and that the
nurses agree to the importance of prevention of disease by early health screening (Krause Parello amp;
Kimika, 2010).
Review of Related Literature Through the literature review, it became apparent that over the past few
years the roles and responsibilities of nurses has increased even further; this study sought to bring that
research current and encourage school nurses

Impact Of The Agricultural Industry On The United States...
According to Daniel L. Swain of the American meteorological society and Stanford University, says
that the 2013 and 2014 drought in California was an exceptional climate event in the western coast of
the United States( Swain) The drought that has impacted the state of California has been a national
phenomena for a few years now and how it affects the climate and economic aspects of the United
States economy has helped increase awareness to the general public of the United States. California
has a majority of all farming in the U.S., including crops that are exclusive to California , These crops
that are vital for our survival have been hindered by the droughts of the western United States and
California.. The impact of the agricultural industry in the United States has been greatly impacted by
the effects of the drought in southern California. The Californian drought of the 21st century effects
what the rest of the country receives in terms of produce and crops from California. Therefore the
American people that live other places in the U.S. should have more concern for the drought of
California than they have today. We need to find other ways,
Problem of Drought in California There are many conspiracies on what caused the droughts of
California besides lack of rain and usable water. Some people consider it to be a part of climate
change and global warming. Since the drought impacts millions of Americans on a yearly basis, this
means it is a national problem that

Food Shortage In Venezuela

three ways that Venezuelan organizations and representatives are coping with the shortage, loss of

There are four steps to end food shortage in Venezuela, Make living moderate
The economy has huge irregular characteristics that should be balanced. In this way, the primary thing
to guarantee is that poor and working Venezuelans don t experience the ill effects of the alteration.
This implies setting up a framework to ensure that sustenance, pharmaceutical, and different basics are
accessible at moderate costs. There are numerous administrations that have such frameworks
including the U.S., where more than 45 million individuals get nourishment stamps.
Settle the cash
When this framework is set up, the legislature can bring together the swapping scale. This is the most
harming irregularity in the economy. It has been causing an expansion devaluation winding since the
fall of 2012. The rising underground market rate expands expansion, which at that point nourishes

Essay On Analyse
The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) currently uses a cogeneration facility that uses
methane gas to supply electricity and heat to the campus. Although the cogeneration facility saves
eight million dollars a year, the use of methane gas does not follow the goals of carbon neutrality
within the UC campuses ( Energy Management ). A non carbon producing, alternative source of
energy is needed to help reach this goal. By following the first solution from Bending the Curve, the
use of electric producing algae can replace the consumption of methane gas. Using electric producing
algae not only creates a carbon neutral way to produce energy, but it also removes carbon dioxide
from the atmosphere and purifies waste water (Gajda et al.). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Another problem that electric producing algae has is that it is still relatively expensive compared to
other sources of energy like solar. This process is currently using expensive catalyst like platinum, to
decrease price, a cheaper alternative is required (Lobato et al.). These three problems turn people away
from investing in electric producing algae because there are many alternatives that can have better
efficiency. However, with more efficient algae, it can provide more than just energy. Compare to other
sources of alternative energy, electric producing algae has the most benefits of them all. If UCSD is
completely dependent on electric producing algae, it would stop two million tons of carbon per year
per acre from polluting the atmosphere (Lane, Where are we with algae biofuel? ). Although other
sources of renewable energy would be able to do this, algae would be better in the long run. Through
photosynthesis, oxygen is created in exchange of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This will help
lower the overall concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because algae can act as a sink for
carbon in the atmosphere. This process would result in a net negative production of carbon dioxide.
Not only algae can remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, it can also treat waste water. Algae
feeds off from the nutrient in the waste water and in exchange, human

Sacajawea Research Paper

Sacajawea
Sacajawea is a well known American Indian woman. Her expedition with explorers Lewis and Clark
was extraordinary. She was born in Tendoy, Idaho around 1788. She was a member of the Lemhi
Shoshone tribe. At this time, the American territory ended at the Mississippi River. One year after the
Louisiana Purchase, President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition that left from
St. Louis, Missouri, traveling through the US Northwest, to the Pacific Ocean (History). Children in
the Shoshone tribe were valued and seen as important members of the tribe. The children were
educated and thought to become great individuals on day. In 1800, Sacajawea along with other
Shoshone women were kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe. Sacajawea and the other women were hauled
from the Shoshone tribe in present day Idaho to the Hidatsa tribe in present day North Dakota. It was
when she reached the Hidatsa village when Sacajawea was sold to a fur trader named Toussaint
Charbonneau as a slave. It wasn t until later when Sacajawea became Charbonneau s second wife.
Marriage was sacred to the Shoshone people, so despite the abuse Sacajawea stayed with
Charbonneau. On February 11, 1805 Sacajawea gave birth to their son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau.

The Tax Rate Of The United States
1. Imagine a friend says that he doesn t want to take a job that pays slightly more money only because
he will be bumped into the next tax bracket and end up taking home less income after taxes. Based on
the video Engager you watched in Unit 2, how would you advise this friend? Define marginal tax
rates. Then, explain why tax rates in the United States were designed to be marginal.
➢ A progressive tax, which the friend would be under in this situation, is one in which those with the
highest incomes pay the higher tax rate (Video Engager 2). I would advise this friend to take a closer
look at the situation; just because he is earning more money does not necessarily mean he will lose
more of what he earns to taxes. Instead, different safety features are built into the process to ensure
that those who earn more are not prevented from working harder or getting a promotion. For example,
those with a higher income can be incentivized through tax breaks from giving to charity or even
saving for retirement (Video Engager 2). These benefits encourage those in the higher income brackets
to continue to be motivated to earn more. In addition, the tax rates on higher income are marginalized.
Marginal tax rates mean that a high earner will only pay the higher tax on the portion of money that is
above the tax bracket. In other words, everyone will pay the same percentage of tax on the first
bracket of income, any income above that bracket will be taxed at a slightly higher rate, and

Does Bonsoy soy milk manufacturer or distributor have had any liability to the Australian consumers
in the tort of negligence?
Set of laws
Tort: A tort is a civil wrong which is done by one party to another. As a result of this, the person who
is suffered or injured can take civil action against another party. The law of torts provide the rules and
regulation to the society. If these rules and regulations are breached the person is liable for remedies
(usually monetary). According to P. Latimer; after the successful test case of Donoghue v Stevenson in
1932, where the plaintiff getting sick after drinking a contaminated drink, negligence is tort which
now dominates modern tort law.
Negligence: Civil Liability Act 2002 Sect 5 states that, negligence means failure to exercise
reasonable care and skill. (AustLII, 2015) If the plaintiff is suffered damage or loss by defendant, the
plaintiff can sue the defendant for the loss occurred due to negligence of the defendant. There are three
basic fundamental steps to prove negligence under the Civil Liability Act that the plaintiff must be
able to prove:
 Duty of care: There is a duty to full fill in the conditions
 Breach of duty: The action of the defendant in the conditions did not meet set level of standard of
care
 Damage: The plaintiff has suffered damage or loss due to the conditions which could have been
foreseen. (Hobart Community Legal Service Inc., 2013)

Techniques Used For Classify The Models Of Church Planting
Techniques used to categorize the models of church planting Things that lay influence on various
models used in planting of churches include: one is denominational ecclesiology, two is if a mission
agency or church is carrying out the actual planting, three is the planting body ethos, four is the
spiritual and theological planting body outlook, five being the direct correlation of factors to the
context which includes a community/area sociological understanding of where the church is to be
planted and six is the planting team size. The terminology employed in describing the different
planting models are divergent and a lot of terms are gotten from the obstetrics or horticulture world,
but others are derived from the military, nautical and astronomical worlds (Murray, Laying
Foundations, 260). Christine groups planting models in terms of the body performing the sponsoring
say the agency, church or any other body (Robinson and Christine, Planting tomorrow s Churches
Today, 126). Murray defines four historical church planting categories: one is the replacement planting
where it is conducted in places where the church is being closed, two is the pioneer planting which is
done in places where there are no Christian witnesses, three is the saturation planting that mainly
concerns with ensuring that each group of people that is identifiable has unlimited church access
which has relevance on a contextual basis, and the fourth and last one is the sectarian planting that

Abstract: Wheels are clearly safety related components and hence fatigue performance and the state of
stress in the rim under various loading conditions are prime concerns. Further, wheels continue to
receive a considerable amount of attention as part of industry efforts to reduce weight through material
substitution and down gauging.Possible loading conditions on the metal rim are: (a) pressure due to
inflation, (b) radial loading on the bead seat resulting from the weight of the automobile, and (c) local
bending moments induced on the rim due to an offset. These are directly influenced by the width of
the rim. In order to evaluate the effect of rim width on stress the rim is analyzes experimentally with
constant inflation pressure and variation in rim width. Location of high stresses in the weld area is of
major concern for welded rims. Typically, the disc is welded to the rim at the well area. Residual stress
causes addition stress or possible micro structural cracks to the rim.[1]
Key Words: Fatigue Performance,Tyre pressure,Radial load.
Introduction
The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of tire air pressure in conjunction with the
radial load on the stress and displacement in tire rims, through experimental stress analysis and finite

The Monster In Bram Stoker s Dracula
The most infamous vampire in history emerged from the streets of Ireland in 1897. The publication of
Dracula set the modern vampire into motion. Vampire legends themselves have stretched back for
centuries, but it was this one novel that paved the road for others to follow. When thinking of Dracula,
it can be easy to think of the blood sucking creature who travels from Transylvania. Not often does
history recognize the inspiration for the character known as Count Dracula. The legend begins in
Romania in 1431 with the birth of Vlad III Dracul, or Vlad, Son of The Dragon. This was the man that
grew up to be a hero to Romania, a feared and ruthless leader, an accomplished military strategist, and
the foundations for Bram Stoker s novel. Though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dracula preferred the close quarters of his castle and lived a more lonesome life style. Often his only
ventures outside his castle were to search for food. In the novel, it was apparent that Dracula did not
have many friends and most aquantances were fellow vampires of those under his control. Vlad
surrounded himself by a small circle to whom he would often hunt with. He was cold only to those
who crossed his path the wrong way or threatened the nation to which he ruled. In recorded text, he
had two wives and two sons. Not much is known about his first wife except the fact that she was from
Romania and committed suicide by throwing herself off a wall into the sea. His second wife, Ilona,

Homosexuality in Ha Jin s the Bridegroom Essay
History of Homosexuality in Society
Throughout the course of history, the topic of homosexuality and its acceptable behavior has been one
of varying opinions and much heated debate. Although how tolerated homosexual behavior was all
through history can differ depending on who your source is, most everyone can agree that a few large
cultures were either strongly for, or against, homosexuality.
One key player in the fight against homosexuality was the all powerful England. The first English
civil law against sodomy was passed by Parliament in 1533. In Act 25 Henry 8, Chapter 6 which

These types of moralistic judgments constantly flooded the so called scientific study of
homosexuality. Religion also plays a key role in the persecution of homosexuals. The belief that
homosexuality is a sin seems to dominate the church community. Those of Islamic religion are
strongly against the very idea of homosexuality and offer a strong punishment to those who oppose
their views. In Saudi Arabia on April 16, 2001, five homosexuals were sentenced to 2,600 lashes and 6
years in prison, and four others to 2,400 lashes and 5 years imprisonment for deviant sexual behavior.
(Associated Press 2001) As of today, same sex intercourse is still prohibited in Islam. Bible believing
Christians have also responded to the apparent growth in acceptance of homosexuality in various
ways. Many fundamentalists view homosexual behavior as a choice, and believe that it is possible and
desirable to make a transition to heterosexuality. Many evangelical

Christians also see the acceptance of homosexuality as a threat to their beliefs and doctrines.
While many of today s eastern cultures still adhere strongly to their old oppositions on homosexuality,
western societies have shown much more progress.

Fountainhead Essay Outline
Ayn Rand, the author of the book Fountainhead, had very strong and insightful beliefs. One such
belief, as quoted by Ayn Rand, pertains to the idea of people that do not follow trends. She believes
that throughout history there have been people that decided to step off of the path that everyone was
on, in order to create their vision that no one has had before. The second someone does something
different many people start to think they are crazy and do not think their ideas are practical. Although
the inventors face much opposition, they still manage to come out on top. Ayn Rand s believes that
people who want something should not give up on their dreams just because someone else does not
support it. There are so many examples of people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once published, the book gained immense popularity and won many awards. Her publishers wanted
her to write more which led to her creating the entire Harry Potter series. Her books were extremely
popular then and now. The Harry Potter series is often thought to be one of the best book series to be
written. Not only was the story told through writing, it was also made into multiple movies. Rand
mentions how even though they were not liked, they still came out on top. J.K. Rowling s books were
not liked at first, but eventually they became one of the best selling book series and she came out on
top. Another individual that fits Ayn Rand s quote is Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus is known for a lot of
things, especially her being a disney star. At the beginning of her career, she starred on Hannah
Montana, a disney channel tv show, and was a popstar as both Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus.
Because of Disney Channel s reputation of being mostly a kids tv channel, Miley Cyrus was seen as a
kids actor and singer. As she got older, she began to star in movies for teenagers, such as The Last
Song, and started to sign more edgy songs. Many people continued to love her not only as an actor,
but as a singer too. A few years ago, Miley Cyrus took a huge turn. She started singing in a very
different style and dressing in crazy provocative outfits. Ayn Rand states that when people start to go
off the path that everyone else is on, they are thought to be crazy

Competitive Strategic Approaches used by Starbuck Essay
Starbucks Case
Each company has what sets it apart from other companies in the same industry. This ideology
excludes not Starbuck. Starbuck has a history and right from its inception, the founders wanted
something that would offer fine coffee to the society that settled in Seattle. This has all along been the
case. To accentuate this phenomenon, there was a time Howard Schultz had to travel to Italy to
explore more of the Italian coffee tastes offered in Italy coffee bars and come back to customize the
same in America. Unfortunately, upon his return he resigned from Starbuck and formed his own
company. However, a few years after he formed his company, Starbuck went on sale and this led

Starbucks believes that its clients needs, or rather preferences, are diverse and if it has to make a
difference from the standard products their competitors are offering, then it has to diverse the products
and the services offered. In ensuring that this is happening, Starbucks offer diverse products and
ensures too that the methods it uses to distribute these different products is also diverse. Note it has
successively served airlines, hotels learning institutions, select retailers and many more diverse
customers. Much focus is given on how every customer is served as this keeps them coming back.
This is something Howard Schultz himself had to get down into it and thus he taught his employees on
how to be friendly to the customers. The employees friendliness established an emotional attachment
with the clients; something that was achieved through employee trainings.
Differentiation demands that every product be great and unique on its own way. In making this
strategy work best for the company, Starbucks commits itself into training all its stakeholders so that
the product s quality is improved indefinitely. At Starbuck you do not just take coffee but also the
value of what you buy is improved by other auxiliary services they offer like accessing Wi Fi and paid
sites.

Communal Forgetfulness: How Memories Crowd Themselves Out of the Public Sphere Introduction
Human history is full of major events. Great tragedies, heroic victories, and unlikely achievements all
remain long after they have occurred, alive in the memory of the public and immortalized in histories
and songs. Over time, though, the importance of different memories changes, and some memories are
effectively crowded out of the public sphere of remembrance. In particular, tragic events that were
perpetrated by a culture tend to fade out of that culture s consciousness to make way for more recent
events. These events are not forgotten, but they are viewed through the lens of more recent events. The
memories of different events build on each other when they share common themes, even when the
events themselves are very different, which leads to a collective memory that is based on shared
national or international history. Public Memory People tend to think of memories as a set of
individual recollections of specific, chronological events. In reality, though, human memory is much
more nuanced and complex than just the storage of data like might be stored on a computer hard drive.
Memory is far more colored and far less accurate than simple data storage. One individual s memory
of an event may be entirely different than another individual s memory of that same event because of
differences

Garner the rice crop at its height,
Lest it be withered ere the morn,
Look well on me whilst in your sight,

How beautiful are the words, immersing us in its tender embrace! The above stanza is known as
pantun, a traditional Malay form of expression. From the records in historical books such as Sulalatus
Salatin and Hikayat Hang Tuah, it is believed that pantun has been around since as early as the 15th
century. It is usually construed spontaneously and presented orally, passed down from one generation
to the next. Pantun is a reflection of the finesse of the Malay civilization; to understand the Malays,
one needs to understand pantun, as therein reigns the grace, knowledge, sharp thought process and

Pantun can be in the forms of couplets, quatrains or sextets. However, the most common version is in
quatrains, as illustrated above. The parallels and assonance produce a wonderful symphony as the
lines end on a pattern of a b a b. To retain the rhyme, the lines shall only consist between 8 to 12
syllables. The subject matter of pantun are diverse. The most common ones are on the theme of
culture, advice, love, jokes, puzzles, journeys and adventures, manners and religious matters. The
language plays with hints and the actual message; the allusions in the first two lines often depict the
beauty of nature. The remaining two lines then explains the intended meaning of the allusion above,
which is the musings of life.

Analysis Of Umrao Jaan
In the film Umrao Jaan, the story is narrated by a woman who was kidnapped at a young age. Umrao
Jaan is a courtesan genre film in Bollywood. This genre often portrays the life of a courtesan. In this
film, A young girl (whose name is Amiran) is abducted by her father s enemy and sold to a brothel
where she learns to read, write, sing, and dance. She becomes an accomplished courtesan; in a song
sequence which compromises time, we see her grow up while learning how to sing and dance. This
song marks the beginning and training of her courtesan lifestyle. Towards the end of the film, we get
another song sequence where Umrao Jaan performs her poetry, Yeh Kya Jagah Hai Doston. I will
analyze this song as the song speaks of her sense of confusion, loss, and ache for home. In this song,
Umrao has returned to her hometown of Faizabad (from where she was abducted). She sings the song
outside her biological home. Umrao as a courtesan, was a sex worker who was often ostracized and
condemned from the society. Due to Umrao being known in society as a prostitute she is unable to
find fulfillment in love. Through her songs and dance we see how she expresses how much she desires
to live a life beyond her condemned situation. Umrao in her life has gone through various periods of
rejection and oppression in her life. Through her verses of poetry she express her predicament and
feelings of loneliness. In the finale of the film, Umrao returns to Faizabad. She is asked to perform a
song where in the town she is known as a stranger. As the song starts we see a flashback of Umrao
when she was younger with her brother which, tells us this song will express how much it means for
her to back in her old town and the sadness that she will convey. Umrao as she sings the first line
saying, What is this place, my friends you see her eyes start to glisten with tears as she sings. She goes
on to say What location is this. Where, as far one can see, there s dust and only dust. She is saying that
she is alone like she is living in a desert, and the sadness and grief is overwhelming, that she cannot
feel anything else other than sadness. Umrao when she examines her life only feels sadness, grief, and
bewilderment, that she is not aware

Date: 21 September 2017

The purpose of this memo is to define technical writing, relate it to my field of healthcare
management, and describe the audience (or audiences) for technical communication in the healthcare
setting.
Summary
Technical writing is used daily when communicating between professionals and consumers within a
business. Specifically, in a healthcare setting, technical writing must be successfully implemented for
a hospital to run smoothly. It must be easily understood and address a wide range of audiences that

To be clear
To be concise

As a healthcare management and leadership major, technical writing plays a very important role in
running and operating a hospital or assisted living facility. Without a clear and concise method of

Providing written directions about how to do a specific, such as a medical procedure
Translating complex medical terminology into simpler writing, making it easier for employees and

Gender Aspects Of Sex In Sex And The City
This blurring of gender norms, which would normally be seen as taboo is actually celebrated and fully
embraced in the context of the show. This is similar to what Sex and the City does in the creation of
Samantha Jones, one of the main characters of the show. Throughout the show Sam is seen as the
wildest and most sexually liberated character. She is a highly successful, confident businesswoman
who has sex like a man . Samantha defies popular gender norms by unapologetically speaking her
mind and truly having sex with no strings attached in a world in which women are expected to be
fragile prudish and depended on men in order to feel fulfillment. The writers of Sex and the City do a
wonderful job of presenting the kind of feminism that we are likely to experience today. What that
means is that unlike the feminism we see in Grey s Anatomy in which equality is achieved, the
experiences of the characters in Sex and the City and the relationship of the main characters seem to
be less of a fantasy and more of a reality. The lives of the four main characters, Charlotte, Carrie,
Miranda and Samantha and their relationships serve as a representation of the different kinds of
women that live amongst us today. On one end we have the most traditional portrayal of women in
network television, Charlotte York. Charlotte is the most conservative and prudish one of the four
women. As she says in the pilot of the show if you want to get these guys you have to keep your
mouth shut and

The beefy mids and excellent lows help as well. Alder is commonly used around the industry for its
lightweight and complete sound. Tan in color with soft tight pores, Alder is visually ideal for solid

Fender since 1956.
Basswood was popular around the 80 s and favored among shredders for its ability to produce smooth
sounds deprived of sharp edges. The light color and almost non existent grain pattern make this wood
great for solid colors or backing a figured top. It is stiff, lightweight, and very stable making it very
popular among builders in the industry. Overall basswood is growly, with a warm tone and nice mids.

  • 2. Loss Of Stars Essay On Earth, scientists estimate that there are over 7,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (seven quintillion, five hundred quadrillion) grains of sand. It is believed that for each grain of sand on Earth, there are over 10,000 stars in outer space. A star is a luminous ball of plasma held together by its own gravity. However, every star has the same general chemical composition. Despite the seemingly endless amount of stars in the sky, we can not yet see them all, which plays a huge factor in the amount of stars we are able to observe. Each day, light from distant stars is reaching Earth from stars that are millions of light years away from the Earth. The constant arrival of new stars into the observable supports the idea that the universe is constantly ... It is difficult to determine the surface of this star, as it has a density of 0.000010 kg/m3 , less dense than the atmosphere of the Earth at sea level. This red hypergiant is approximated to undergo a supernova explosion within the next 100,000 years. VX Sagittarii is a red hypergiant that is 4,900 light years away from Earth located in the constellation Sagittarius. Although uncertain, the radius of this star ranges anywhere from 1,300 to 1,900 solar radii. Sagittarii is a pulsating variable star, which means this star shrinks and grows, thus affecting the luminosity and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Black Panther Tank Battalion Essay The Black Panther Tank Battalion The 761st Black Panther Tank Battalion was the first African American armored unit to see combat. Before and during mobilization for World War II, officials in Washington, D.C., debated whether or not African American soldiers should be used in armored units. Many military men and politicians believed that blacks did not have the brains, quickness or moral stamina to fight in a war. Referring to his World War I experiences, Colonel James A. Moss, commander of the 367th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Division, stated, quot;As fighting troops, the Negro must be rated as second class material, this primarily to his inferior intelligence and lack of mental and moral qualities. quot; Colonel Perry L. Miles, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In March 1941, 98 black enlisted men reported to Fort Knox, Ky., from Fort Custer, Mich., for armored warfare training with the 758th Tank Battalion (light). The pioneer black tankers trained in light tank operations, mechanics and related phases of mechanized warfare, as enlisted men from other Army units joined their ranks. The 758th trained on the M 5 light tank, which carried a crew of four. Powered by twin Cadillac engines, it could reach a maximum speed of 40 mph and had an open road cruising range of 172 miles. It was armed with a .30 caliber machine gun mounted to fire along the same axis as the tank s main armament, a 37mm cannon. When the tracer bullets from the .30 caliber registered on a target, the cannon would be fired, hopefully scoring a direct hit. The M 5 was also armed with two more .30 caliber machine guns, one on the turret and one in the bow. The light tank was employed to provide fire support, mobility and crew protection in screening and reconnaissance missions. The 5th Tank Group, commanded by Colonel LeRoy Nichols, was to be made up of black enlisted personnel and white officers. With the 758th Tank Battalion in place, two more tank battalions were needed to complete the 5th Tank Group. On March 15, 1942, the War Department ordered the activation of the 761st Tank Battalion (light) at Camp Claiborne, La., with an authorized strength of 36 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Cell Phones And Technology Essay In 1973 the world s first cellphone was made. Although the first phone is not anything compared to the latest iphone, it was a huge step back then. When the first mobile phone was made, it was hardly portable and allowed very little talk time. Now phones are smaller than the average human hand and you can talk however long you would like (as long as you have a charger). At first look, the invention of the cell phone can be seen as a huge technological achievement, however once people open their eyes they see how sad it truly is. So many people have lost touch with true communication and the people around them. Even though technology shouldn t be as involved in our lives as it is, people still see it as an essential to their everyday lives and they are constantly using it. Over the past decade there has been an increase in the purchases of cell phones. As the company s improve the technology, people have started to desire them more. Technology is no longer just a way to communicate with others, but it is now a way of entertainment. People can now play games and watch movies on their phones . Cell phones help people with work . You can look at emails, there are calculators, and dictionaries. Technology has also helped people make relationships, whether that is a good thing or bad thing is still undetermined. The popularity of cell phones has increased so much that children now have them and parents use them as babysitters. In Amusing Ourselves to Death, Neil Postman says, ... • 6. Expectancy Violation Theory Summary Chiles and Roloff use Expectancy Violation Theory to understand the relationship between expectations and responses to apologies. Chiles and Roloff clarify that EVT assumes that individuals form expectations for the normative and prescriptive rules guiding (communicative) interactions with others, and when those expectations are violated individuals become cognitively aroused. At that point, based on factors such as the situation, the context, and the relationship itself, individuals consciously or unconsciously attribute a valence, positive or negative, to the violation. EVT is one of the most widely used theoretical perspectives on expectations and communication behavior, and has been applied to a variety of novel contexts. However, no studies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... K., Bennett, M., and Goffman, E. Once again, using EVT as their perspective, this article focuses on the degree to which people expect apologies to be accepted, the extent to which they are accepted/rejected and how offenders view expected and unexpected responses. Chiles and Roloff found that while accepting an apology is positively evaluated by apologizers, this relationship is moderated by their expectations of acceptance prior to the actual response to the apology. According to EVT, the stronger an expectation is, the more it matters whether an individual violates it or not. The more an apologizer believes an apology will be accepted, the more positively they will view adherence to this expectation. Consequently, violations or deviations from increasingly strong expectations will be viewed more negatively. Drawing on the framework of EVT, the researchers predict and confirm that acceptance of an apology would be positively related to the evaluation of said response, but this relationship would be moderated by the expectations the apologizer had for acceptance. Chiles and Roloff found that a limitation to their experiment is that communicative behavior is the driving behavior to the response of an apology, not expectations. However, expectations are still an important factor determinate whether or not a person will forgive someone who has hurt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Quantitative Critique Quantitative Research Critique: Responsibilities of Public School Nurses Grand Canyon University: NRS433V Quantitative Research Critique: Responsibilities of Public School Nurses Nursing has many roles, allowing for a diverse field to choose from upon graduation. One of those choices is the responsibility of a school nurse and consequently that of the entire population of the public school for which he/she works. Hypothesis/Hypotheses Since the steady increase of students with chronic illnesses in public schools, there has been an increase in the roles and responsibilities of school nurses (Krause Parello amp; Kimika, 2010). This study looks to build upon other studies, but as well, it does look to prove this. Study Variables The independent variables in this study are the nurses. With the study design being non experimental, however, no manipulation takes place. The research is only being replicated exactly as it was and so we would not expect to see any dependent study variables (Burns amp; Grove, 2011). Conceptual Model/Theoretical Framework Betty Neuman s conceptual model of nursing is concerned with the person as a whole and stresses prevention. She brought us primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention (Nursing Theories, 2011). It is noted through the study of the health promotion/disease prevention activities that the schools of New Jersey are required to have a wellness plan and that the nurses agree to the importance of prevention of disease by early health screening (Krause Parello amp; Kimika, 2010). Review of Related Literature Through the literature review, it became apparent that over the past few years the roles and responsibilities of nurses has increased even further; this study sought to bring that research current and encourage school nurses ... Swain of the American meteorological society and Stanford University, says that the 2013 and 2014 drought in California was an exceptional climate event in the western coast of the United States( Swain) The drought that has impacted the state of California has been a national phenomena for a few years now and how it affects the climate and economic aspects of the United States economy has helped increase awareness to the general public of the United States. California has a majority of all farming in the U.S., including crops that are exclusive to California , These crops that are vital for our survival have been hindered by the droughts of the western United States and California.. The impact of the agricultural industry in the United States has been greatly impacted by the effects of the drought in southern California. The Californian drought of the 21st century effects what the rest of the country receives in terms of produce and crops from California. Therefore the American people that live other places in the U.S. should have more concern for the drought of California than they have today. We need to find other ways, Problem of Drought in California There are many conspiracies on what caused the droughts of California besides lack of rain and usable water. • 10. Essay On Analyse The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) currently uses a cogeneration facility that uses methane gas to supply electricity and heat to the campus. Although the cogeneration facility saves eight million dollars a year, the use of methane gas does not follow the goals of carbon neutrality within the UC campuses ( Energy Management ). A non carbon producing, alternative source of energy is needed to help reach this goal. By following the first solution from Bending the Curve, the use of electric producing algae can replace the consumption of methane gas. Using electric producing algae not only creates a carbon neutral way to produce energy, but it also removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and purifies waste water (Gajda et al.). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another problem that electric producing algae has is that it is still relatively expensive compared to other sources of energy like solar. This process is currently using expensive catalyst like platinum, to decrease price, a cheaper alternative is required (Lobato et al.). These three problems turn people away from investing in electric producing algae because there are many alternatives that can have better efficiency. However, with more efficient algae, it can provide more than just energy. Compare to other sources of alternative energy, electric producing algae has the most benefits of them all. If UCSD is completely dependent on electric producing algae, it would stop two million tons of carbon per year per acre from polluting the atmosphere (Lane, Where are we with algae biofuel? ). Although other sources of renewable energy would be able to do this, algae would be better in the long run. Through photosynthesis, oxygen is created in exchange of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This will help lower the overall concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because algae can act as a sink for carbon in the atmosphere. This process would result in a net negative production of carbon dioxide. Not only algae can remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, it can also treat waste water. Algae feeds off from the nutrient in the waste water and in exchange, human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Sacajawea Research Paper Heather Martin Sacajawea Sacajawea is a well known American Indian woman. Her expedition with explorers Lewis and Clark was extraordinary. She was born in Tendoy, Idaho around 1788. She was a member of the Lemhi Shoshone tribe. At this time, the American territory ended at the Mississippi River. One year after the Louisiana Purchase, President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on an expedition that left from St. Louis, Missouri, traveling through the US Northwest, to the Pacific Ocean (History). Children in the Shoshone tribe were valued and seen as important members of the tribe. The children were educated and thought to become great individuals on day. In 1800, Sacajawea along with other Shoshone women were kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe. Sacajawea and the other women were hauled from the Shoshone tribe in present day Idaho to the Hidatsa tribe in present day North Dakota. It was when she reached the Hidatsa village when Sacajawea was sold to a fur trader named Toussaint Charbonneau as a slave. It wasn t until later when Sacajawea became Charbonneau s second wife. Marriage was sacred to the Shoshone people, so despite the abuse Sacajawea stayed with Charbonneau. On February 11, 1805 Sacajawea gave birth to their son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau. Picture a student that has all A s and B s, has a healthy, regular eating schedule, goes to sleep at a reasonable time, good social life with people he enjoys being around, and is stress free, always waking up happy without a worry on his mind. Now picture a student that struggles in school, never really has a huge appetite, has trouble going to sleep at a reasonable time, wakes up feeling groggy and doesn t want to go to school to learn, he is unable to hang out with the people he enjoys, he always has some type of stress level that does not allow him to enjoy life how he should, and doesn t always feel like he is as responsible as he should be? • 13. The Tax Rate Of The United States 1. Imagine a friend says that he doesn t want to take a job that pays slightly more money only because he will be bumped into the next tax bracket and end up taking home less income after taxes. Based on the video Engager you watched in Unit 2, how would you advise this friend? Define marginal tax rates. Then, explain why tax rates in the United States were designed to be marginal. ➢ A progressive tax, which the friend would be under in this situation, is one in which those with the highest incomes pay the higher tax rate (Video Engager 2). I would advise this friend to take a closer look at the situation; just because he is earning more money does not necessarily mean he will lose more of what he earns to taxes. Instead, different safety features are built into the process to ensure that those who earn more are not prevented from working harder or getting a promotion. For example, those with a higher income can be incentivized through tax breaks from giving to charity or even saving for retirement (Video Engager 2). These benefits encourage those in the higher income brackets to continue to be motivated to earn more. In addition, the tax rates on higher income are marginalized. Marginal tax rates mean that a high earner will only pay the higher tax on the portion of money that is above the tax bracket. In other words, everyone will pay the same percentage of tax on the first bracket of income, any income above that bracket will be taxed at a slightly higher rate, and ... Abstract: Wheels are clearly safety related components and hence fatigue performance and the state of stress in the rim under various loading conditions are prime concerns. Further, wheels continue to receive a considerable amount of attention as part of industry efforts to reduce weight through material substitution and down gauging.Possible loading conditions on the metal rim are: (a) pressure due to inflation, (b) radial loading on the bead seat resulting from the weight of the automobile, and (c) local bending moments induced on the rim due to an offset. These are directly influenced by the width of the rim. In order to evaluate the effect of rim width on stress the rim is analyzes experimentally with constant inflation pressure and variation in rim width. Location of high stresses in the weld area is of major concern for welded rims. Typically, the disc is welded to the rim at the well area. Residual stress causes addition stress or possible micro structural cracks to the rim.[1] Key Words: Fatigue Performance,Tyre pressure,Radial load. Yujia Jiang May 1, 2016 GSAH220 Global Interactions and Identities Safoi Babana Hampton Communal Forgetfulness: How Memories Crowd Themselves Out of the Public Sphere Introduction Human history is full of major events. Great tragedies, heroic victories, and unlikely achievements all remain long after they have occurred, alive in the memory of the public and immortalized in histories and songs. Over time, though, the importance of different memories changes, and some memories are effectively crowded out of the public sphere of remembrance. In particular, tragic events that were perpetrated by a culture tend to fade out of that culture s consciousness to make way for more recent events. These events are not forgotten, but they are viewed through the lens of more recent events. The memories of different events build on each other when they share common themes, even when the events themselves are very different, which leads to a collective memory that is based on shared national or international history. Public Memory People tend to think of memories as a set of individual recollections of specific, chronological events. In reality, though, human memory is much more nuanced and complex than just the storage of data like might be stored on a computer hard drive. She sings the song outside her biological home. Umrao as a courtesan, was a sex worker who was often ostracized and condemned from the society. Due to Umrao being known in society as a prostitute she is unable to find fulfillment in love. Through her songs and dance we see how she expresses how much she desires to live a life beyond her condemned situation. Umrao in her life has gone through various periods of rejection and oppression in her life. Through her verses of poetry she express her predicament and feelings of loneliness. In the finale of the film, Umrao returns to Faizabad. She is asked to perform a song where in the town she is known as a stranger. • 33. Gender Aspects Of Sex In Sex And The City This blurring of gender norms, which would normally be seen as taboo is actually celebrated and fully embraced in the context of the show. This is similar to what Sex and the City does in the creation of Samantha Jones, one of the main characters of the show. Throughout the show Sam is seen as the wildest and most sexually liberated character. She is a highly successful, confident businesswoman who has sex like a man . Samantha defies popular gender norms by unapologetically speaking her mind and truly having sex with no strings attached in a world in which women are expected to be fragile prudish and depended on men in order to feel fulfillment. The writers of Sex and the City do a wonderful job of presenting the kind of feminism that we are likely to experience today. What that means is that unlike the feminism we see in Grey s Anatomy in which equality is achieved, the experiences of the characters in Sex and the City and the relationship of the main characters seem to be less of a fantasy and more of a reality. The lives of the four main characters, Charlotte, Carrie, Miranda and Samantha and their relationships serve as a representation of the different kinds of women that live amongst us today. On one end we have the most traditional portrayal of women in network television, Charlotte York. Charlotte is the most conservative and prudish one of the four women.
