Crafting an essay on the topic of "Problem Solution Essay Topics" can present both challenges
and opportunities for the writer. At first glance, the expansive nature of this subject might seem
overwhelming, as it demands not only an understanding of various issues but also the ability to
propose viable solutions. The difficulty lies in the comprehensive exploration of problems, the
identification of root causes, and the development of practical and effective solutions.
To begin with, researching diverse problem solution essay topics requires substantial time and
effort. This step involves delving into multiple areas, from social and environmental issues to
economic and political challenges. The writer must navigate through an extensive array of
subjects to select a specific problem that resonates with both their interests and the target
audience. This initial phase is demanding, as it necessitates a balance between choosing a topic
that is significant and one that the writer can effectively address.
Once a topic is selected, the next hurdle involves the in-depth analysis of the chosen problem.
Identifying the root causes and understanding the intricacies of the issue demands thorough
research and critical thinking. This analytical process is crucial for formulating well-grounded
arguments and proposing solutions that are not only feasible but also sustainable. The complexity
of this step often requires the writer to navigate through a myriad of information, discerning
credible sources from biased ones.
Constructing the essay's body becomes another intricate task. Clearly articulating the problem,
providing evidence to support claims, and proposing viable solutions necessitate a careful
organization of thoughts and a coherent presentation of ideas. The challenge lies in maintaining a
balance between depth and clarity, ensuring that the audience can follow the argumentation
without feeling overwhelmed by the complexity of the issue.
Furthermore, crafting compelling and persuasive solutions adds another layer of complexity. The
writer must not only propose practical measures but also present them in a way that resonates
with the reader. This involves a delicate balance between optimism and realism, inspiring
confidence that the suggested solutions can indeed address the identified problem.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Problem Solution Essay Topics" demands substantial effort,
critical thinking, and effective communication skills. It involves navigating through a vast array
of subjects, conducting thorough research, and presenting well-structured arguments with
practical and persuasive solutions. Despite the challenges, successfully navigating through this
process can be immensely rewarding, as it allows the writer to contribute to meaningful
discussions and propose concrete steps towards addressing societal issues.

2. London Riots
In this essay, I will be proposing a suitable research method to identify the causes of
the 2011 London Riots that took place between the 6th August and the 10th August,
which resulted in lawlessness chaos, looting, arson, attacks, etc. My aim is to
determine why the riots happened, so that such violence can be prevented in the
future. I will do this using scientific methodology and choose the most appropriate
method for my research. Firstly, a summary of the Experimental Method. It originates
from a research question, but you could say the idea behind the question is derived
from intuition. This leads to a hypothesis, which is the initial building block in the
scientific method. Source: (Bradford, A. (2015) www.livescience.com) A hypothesis

There are a few different types of survey methods, one of them being
questionnaires. Questionnaires can be printed onto paper, then handed out to
people and posted through their doors, or they can be accessible through the
internet sent to people via email or completed as an online questionnaire. An
advantage of this is it allows minimal contact between the researcher and the
participant. The telephone surveys or the web surveys are more convenient for
participants to complete, in the comfort of their own home, or on the go, as long
as they are very brief, with only a few questions asked. However, it is very easy to
lie or exaggerate, especially if you re not directly in the presence of the interviewer.
This is where face to face interviews come in a direct way of obtaining information,
with the interviewer asking the participant questions. Also, if you are using random
sampling, you can easily select and ask random people on the road to take part in
your survey, avoiding
3. Dust Bowl DBQ
Imagine living on a farm out west during the 1930s. In the middle of a series of
terrible dust storms. The dust storms were so horrific, children were dying from dust
pneumonia which was a result of breathing the dust in. These dust storms would trap
plains settlers in their homes for hours, days at a time. This series of dust storms is
better known as the Dust Bowl. It forced 3 million settlers out of their homes.
Drought, increased mechanization, and destruction of grass all lead to the Dust
Bowl. It all started with a drought in the Midwest in the 1930s. The great western
explorer , John Wesley Powell, determined that 20 inches of rain annually was the
minimum for successful farming. (Doc. E). High Plains Regional... Show more

According to the Great Plain Drought Area Committee Report (Doc. D), in 1879,
10 million acres of crop were harvested. 20 years later, in 1899, 50 million acres of
crops were harvested, 5 times more crops than in 1879. In 1929, that number more
than doubled to a 105 million acres of crops that were harvested. How did happen?
Farming technology advanced rapidly from 1879 to 1929. In The Worst Hard
Time by Timothy Egan (Doc. C), Egan wrote, A tractor did the work of ten horses.
With his new combine, Folkers could cut and thresh the grain in one swoop, using
just a fraction of the labor. The new farming technology made farming faster and it
required less labor. Farmers had this new technology and used it to plow more land.
Millions of acres were being plowed and farmed on and with the dry soil and no
grass to keep it on the ground the dust became airborne and started grouping together
and creating terrible storms.
Drought, destroying the natural grass, and increased mechanization caused a
series of terrible storms lasting almost a decade. The Dust Bowl is so important
today because there is a high demand for food and water since more people live
here in America. We know not to make to same mistakes that farmers made almost
90 years ago. The Dust Bowl serves as a warning for the future, a warning to keep our
lands healthy and always look

Target has done well over the years due to its successful integrated marketing
communications. Today, Target is the second largest discount retailer in the United
States, with $65.4 billion in sales and rank number 28 on the fortune 500 list. The
main focus to build an up market cachet of its brand without losing its relevance
for price conscious consumers, Target positioned itself as a high fashion brand
retailers. Target aims to fulfil its brand promise of delivering trendy styles and
quality merchandise at affordable low price by sending Merchandisers to travel over
the world to look for next hot items. Target adopted Europe popular concept of fast
fashion , which keep the product selection fresh result in more frequent shopper
visits. To further enhance the shopper experience, Target uses a variety of tactics to
communicate its cheap chic positioning, beginning with its slogan, Expect more, Pay
less . Target also pays attention to how they place the shelves, lighting, fixtures and
even creating wider aisles to avoid visual clutter.

5. Beauty Vs Beauty
Some things in life don t function well on their own. They rely on one another to
be truly of use, and without one, you can never have the other. A first impression
of someone is so important, but figuring out why is too. What we deem as
important now is no longer the same as it was a hundred years ago. We see things
before we think about them, but to see them we must think. So what is more
important, the power of beauty or the power of brains? We make many
assumptions based on our first impressions of people. When we first meet
someone, our opinion of them is overpowered by the way they look, rather than
what they say or do. We take notes from the way they look to determine parts of
their personality. For example, when we look at a person who is skinny, we
assume they eat clean food and have a reasonable sized diet. Humans are also
programmed to identify looks with level of health. Smaller bodies are believed to
be more genetically healthy, and clear skin indicates youth. But a lot of people in
our society assume that our looks can represent other attributes. Psychologists from
Princeton University say it takes just one tenth of a second to judge someone and
make a first impression, which can determine whether or not a relationship develops
between two people. Studies found on Wikipedia have shown that Western people
are more willing to listen to a person they meet than make assumptions from their
looks. Of course our first impressions have been affected by multiple
6. Savant Syndrome In Rain Man
The movie that I will be critically examining to illustrate the neurodevelopmental
disorder called Autism is Rain Man. I feel this movie is a perfect example of a
popular film that depicts certain characteristics that are outlined in the DSM V
criteria. In the movie Rain Man (Levinson, Marrow Bass, 1988), two brothers embark
upon a journey of connecting with one another. In this classic film, Charlie (Tom
Cruise) learns for the first time of his brother Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) who is an
institutionalized autistic savant who is the beneficiary of their father s fortune (Rain
Man: The Journey of Charlie, 2014). Charlie therefore kidnaps Raymond in hopes to
obtain half of his father s estate. Charlie grows emotionally and feels as if he s...

Treffert. As we know, Raymond also has a rare condition called the Savant
Syndrome. The Savant Syndrome is condition in which persons with serious
mental disabilities, including autistic disorder, have some island of genius that
stands in marked, incongruous contrast to overall handicap (Treffert, 2009). In this
article, the main focus is on Savant Syndrome and how the condition is extremely
rare, studies have shown 1 in 10 autistic persons show some savant skills (Treffert,
2009). It goes on in depth of the variety of savant skills in autistic people and that
such skills are linked to the massive memory in our brains. Through extensive
observations and reports, the article states what they know about the disorder.
Some of the key findings found were Men out numbered females in autism and
savant syndrome, and that Savant skills typically occur in a narrow range of
special abilities (Treffert, 2009). Such as math, art, mechanical or spatial skills, and
music were found to be in the top general categories in Savant syndrome.
Interestingly enough, savant skills characteristically continue, rather than disappear
(Treffert, 2009), which aids in helping those with autism have an improvement in
other areas of there life such as social, daily living skills, and with there language
skills. I feel this article and its scientific findings definitely correlated with Raymond
s character because he demonstrated remarkable memory and one of his savant skill
was his mathematical skills which was one of the highlights of the movie and made
the disorder of Savant Syndrome worldwide

9. The Impact Of Dementia On Caregiver Health
The Impact of Dementia on Caregiver Health Melodie Nelson Florida Institute of
Technology Abstract Caregivers play a crucial role in the care of dementia
patients. Providing care for dementia patients results in stress related health
impacts to the caregiver. The caregivers go through a journey with the dementia
patient and need a strong support system. The best approach to dementia care is
for health care providers to provide information to and monitor the caregiver, in
addition to the dementia patient, encourage the caregiver to take care of
themselves, to seek support, and to work as a team to provide the best care for the
dementia patient. Keywords: caregiver impacts, dementia care, caregiver issues
The Impact of Dementia on Caregiver Health Providing care for a person with
dementia is like being on a roller coaster ride that never ends and the ride can make
the caregiver sick. In order to discuss dementia caregiving, a definition of dementia
and the impacts of dementia are needed. Dementia is the generic term used by
health care professionals to describe a person s symptoms of memory and judgment
issues (Alzheimer s Association, 2015b) and furthermore is a growing problem in
the United States of America (USA) and around the world. Currently 5.3 million
people in the USA have been diagnosed with Alzheimer s or other dementias, and
dementia numbers are expected to increase by 40% in the next decade (Alzheimer s
Association, 2015a). Dementia care is
10. Money Can Buy Happiness
Happiness is a mental state of well being characterized by positive emotions ranging
from contentment to intense joy . Notice that happiness is within the range of
contentment to intense joy. Every single thing in the world which brings contentment
or joy costs money and therefore, it is money which brings happiness.
Nothing can be yours without money being spent either by the person experiencing
this happiness, or by others spending money so that they can be happy. For example,
even people who are contented with sustenance and covering will realize that both
food and shelter costs money. Turn on the news and watch people dying of
starvation, do they look happy? They appear to be quite sad. When the worms of

To illustrate, surely there are many single people who are happy does that mean
that marriage is not a source of happiness? No. One thing is for sure poorness doesn
t bring happiness at all. A husband and wife bickering over how to spend their last
hundred dollars is not what I would call a happy marriage.
People say money is just paper with something printed on it but so are books and
yet look at how much joy people get out of reading novels, poetry books, comics,
and the list goes on. When a man writes a letter back home to his wife saying I m
coming home tomorrow after a long business trip, she smiles with joy that paper
with something printed on it sure did make her happy likewise money too may just
be paper and ink but when a man hands a check donation of one million dollars over
to the orphanage I m sure everyone is quite happy and when a man wins the lottery I
m sure it makes him quite happy.
Rich people complain Everyone pretends to love me but they love my money it is
like saying that we should strive to be poor so that people won t pretend to be our
friends? I m sure that if anyone were to ask a set of 1000 very rich people how happy
they were and 1000 poverty stricken, homeless, hungry, sick people who happy they
were on a scale of 1 to 10 the rich would definitely fair better in terms of who is
happier.

11. Global Warming And Its Effects On Society
Another important fact in Global warming is known for causing more natural
disasters such as floods, wildfires, heat waves, tropical storms, and etc. (Jones,
2010). This seems to me to come into place as common sense if temperatures
escalate, glaciers will melt and as a conclusion, it will possibly make the oceans rise
causing erosion.
Therefore, stated in the article Greenhouse Effect, enlightened numerous lower
regions, mainly experiencing warmer temperatures in their climates (Losev, 2014).
By reading this article I absorbed that it s just not any country, it seems to happen to
underdeveloped countries that have the main effects because they are not dominate
(Kuczynski, Vidal, Li etc., 2011). I have considered that a dominant society compared
to none dominate culture will have the resources to stop these harmful chemicals into
their society before it causes harm to their nation and then into others. Another critical
factor of climate change is pollutions and pollen. As stated by the authors, the rising
temperatures can lead to an extensive season for individuals, meaning extensive
allergy issues (Todea, Suatean, Coman etc., 2013.).
In the article, Melt or Grow? Fate of Himalayan Glaciers Unknown, scientist has
stated that global warming is like a snowball effect, people care, but then reinforce
greenhouse gases, which have been shown to make our earth warmer (Harris,2012).
The effects of warming temperatures are actually taking a big chunk out of our
12. Mitochondria And Chloroplasts Similarities
The mitochondria and chloroplasts are two very different organelles, but they are
also very similar. Both of these organelles are very vital to their cells. Without them
the cells would have no energy to work with. The mitochondria and chloroplasts are
important factors in cellular respiration and in photosynthesis. Even though you get
the same output, the process in which each happens can have differences and
similarities. The mitochondria, also referred to as the powerhouse of the cell, is found
in most eukaryotic cells, including both plant and animal cells. It has a shape of an
oval, and is held together by a double membrane. The outer membrane is comparable
to skin as it covers the mitochondria and protects it. The inner membrane is folded...

Photosynthesis is the process used by plants and other autotrophs to capture light
energy and use it to power chemical reactions that convert carbon dioxide and water
into oxygen and energy rich carbohydrates such as sugars and starches. This is the
light dependent part of photosynthesis. You have to have light to complete the first
stage. The second stage is called the calvin cycle. The calvin cycle is the light
independent reactions of photosynthesis in which energy from ATP and NADPH is
used to build high energy compounds such as sugars. Photosynthesis also gives off
oxygen. Photosynthesis would not be possible without
13. How Does Art Spiegelman Use Animals In Maus
Maus is successful by the special way of describing a historical tragedy, the whole
story is written in graphic memoir. Art Spiegelman uses animals to represent each
category of character in the story, and each animal has a certain meaning. He
replaces cats as Nazis, pig as Polish, dog as Americans, and mouse, just like the title
of the story, Jews.
We associate with Tom and Jerry which is cats chasing mouse when we think of
mice. Nazi, which is cats, treat Jews like hunting mice. A mouse, which have to
spend whole their life to escape from cats to avoid the destiny of being a part of the
food chain and complete the mission of reproduction. Likewise, the Jews are not
considered human, Nazis treat them a kind of animal, it was a miserable period for
Jews to live. According to Adolf Hitler s quote in the beginning of Maus, The Jews
are undoubtedly a race, but they are not human. Art Spiegelman uses this conception
to create mouse as the main character in the story. ... Show more content on

cat is also part of the food chain, but they hunt mice

Do I have enough money to retire? As the wave of boomers approach retirement, this
is the question on the minds of many. But, how do you find an answer to this most
important, but complex of questions? Will a refrigerator crate over an urban heating
grate be your version of condo living in retirement or will you thrive? There is a lot
written on this topic, but how do you put the pieces together to get an answer for you?
As I have attempted to come to grips with this issue in my own retirement planning,
I have identified five steps. Follow these steps and you should have a sense of
whether you have the financial resources to retire:
STEP #1: Determine your retirement income:
Social Security: The Social Security Administration can provide an estimate of your
retirement benefits. Get an estimate of your benefits at the ssa.gov/estimator/ website.
Pension Benefits: Pensions are becoming less frequent these days. If your current
employer offers a pension plan, contact your Human Resources Department

Although the world is devastated by many natural disasters, the United States are
known for their severe, annual destructive tornadoes. A tornado can reach 300
miles per hour and has a funnel shaped cloud ( 11 Facts About Tornadoes ). The way
to know if a tornado is forming is if there is hail, a dark or greenish sky, a low lying
cloud (possibly rotating), or a loud roar similar to a freight train ( TornadoFacts And

The best predictors for tornado activity are rotating thunderstorms. They are well
defined thunderstorms on a radar that include flash floods, hail, lightning, or severe
winds. ( 11 Facts About Tornadoes ) These storms are called supercells ( Tornado
Facts ). Once they reach land, tropical storms or hurricanes can be accompanied by
tornadoes. When a warm front meets a cold front, a thunderstorm can form, which
can create 1 or more tornadoes ( 11 Facts About Tornadoes ). With little to no
warning, a tornado may strike.

Thee most inspiring issue or aspect of The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver, in
my view, is the relationships and independence shown by the female characters.
Women like Taylor and Lou Ann show a close and loving relationship towards
each other. Individually, both of them show lots of strength and very little
weakness emotionally from their day to day of their lives. They relate many ways
since both are single moms taking care of a child by themselves. The independence
shown by these two is remarkable even by our modern world. Obviously, Taylor
shows a great deal of independence through the entire book. One example can be
shown in chapter one. Taylor left her hometown by herself with unreliable car and
drove into Taylorville. There,

When the pair of Michael and Susan Henchard are reunited after years of separation,
Henchard exhibits a commitment to his redemption after he shamelessly sold her in
the early years of their marriage. He financially provides for Susan by buying her a

constituents in Casterbridge are rather nonplussed at his sudden romantic inclination;
however, the true nature of his actions is revealed only in narration and not in action.
Thomas Hardyushers in Michael Henchard as a unique subset of the Victorian
Gentleman in his 1886 novel, The Mayor of Casterbridge. The limitations and rather
restrictive standards of Victorian social classhave dominated Michael Henchard s
limited individuality. Henchard s stability and livelihood is tied exclusively to his
position in Casterbridge. His raw passion for community is unfettered by any notion
of family or womanly pursuits; he is solely concerned with his status in the hierarchy
of the Victorian town. These pursuits hinder a desired gentlemanly character and
produces a figure of political hunger and masculinity that is clouded by depression
and denial. The inclusion of a middle class into the Victorian Erabrought about

dismal upbringing. At the beginning of the novel, Michael Henchard totes

21. Cult Of Gods Research Paper
As hinted above, devotion, iconoclasm, and preservation efforts are intricately
entwined with processes that happen before, during, and after the performances that
the perspective party participates in. In each environment, the object takes on new
meanings and significances due to the discourses surrounding it and the
subjectivities of the people who possess it. Moreover, preservation often engages in
the same processes that religious iconoclasts did and do by creating new narratives
of the objects and relegating necessary performances with the object. Apart from just
merely the smashing of objects or gods, by removing these objects out of their
original socio historical contexts, the objects are destroyed, literally and/or
figuratively,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, instead of religious narratives, moderns have modern narratives based on
specific conceptualizations of history, humanism, and secularism. No longer about a
history of a particular group of people as with the Jewish or Islamic narratives,
modern discourse is often developed in terms of human history, human civilization,
and human progress. In A Secular Age, Charles Taylor argues that modern secularity
was a parallel development of a purely self sufficient humanism for the first time in
history, clarifying I mean by this a humanism accepting no final goals beyond human
flourishing, nor any allegiance to anything else beyond this flourishing. Of no
previous society was this true (18). Before the modern era, Taylor argues, human
beings were never on top; gods were the ones who were dominant and worthy of
devotion, for only with their benefice would humans be able to flourish (Taylor 18).
However, secularity now places humans on the pedestal, further intensifying the
disenchantment of the secular age by displacing
22. Buddhist Theory And Practice Of The Buddha
Buddhist theory and practice is based around purification of the mind, which can lead
to liberation and enlightenment. One of the foundations of the Buddha s teachings is
the idea of liberation through the Four Noble Truths (also known as the Four Holy
Truths). These truths are as follows: the truth of suffering, in which everything
involves suffering; the truth of the cause of suffering, suffering has a cause and
origin; the truth of the end of suffering, suffering can be overcome or cured; and the
truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering, there is a path to refocus your life
(Gowans, 2003). It is said that the Buddha only appreciated these four truths once he
had completely achieved enlightenment (MЕ«ller, 1890).
The First ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to let go of suffering, one first needs to be able to recognize the presence
of suffering. However, one of the major concerns that contradicts the ideology that
there is suffering in all aspects of life, is the problem of happiness. How can one
accomplish the feeling or emotion of joy, if it is, in fact, a form of suffering?
Buddhism, as a religion, doesn t reject happiness in the world. Rather, it focuses on
the impermanence of the happiness, and this impermanence can be a cause of
suffering, dukkha (Sumedho, 1992). Whilst the First Noble Truth is concerned with
the way things are in our selves and the world and how they ought to be seen, the
second Noble Truth focuses on the cause of this First Truth.
The Second Noble Truth is the Noble Truth of the Origin of Suffering. Buddha
identifies the origin or cause of dukkha as craving (tanha). Tanha translates as thirst
, referring to desires, drives and cravings for satisfaction. According to Buddhism,
there are three kinds of desire: desire for sense pleasure (kama tanha), desire for
existence (bhava tanha) and desire for non existence (vibhava tanha) (Mahathera,
1998). It should be noted that these are not considered separate types of desire,
rather different aspects of the desire. It is this desire, tanha, which is recognized as
the cause of suffering; a suffering from
23. A Study Of Provincial Life By George Eliot
Introduction
Middlemarch, A Study of Provincial Life is a novel by English author George Eliot,
first published in eight installments during 1871. The novel is set in the fictitious
Midlands town of Middlemarch during 1829 32, and it comprises several distinct
stories and a large cast of characters. Significant themes include the status of women,
the nature of marriage, idealism, self interest, religion, hypocrisy, political reform, and
education
Middlemarch was written in the years leading up to 1832, during the Reform act,
this act was for the benefit of middle class people. Male defense of narrowing of
options was the female brain was not equal to the demands of commerce or the
professions, and women, simply by virtue of their sex, had no business mingling
with men in a man s world (Altick 54). Contrast with men without the added profit of
a formal education put conditions in front of many Victorian women to find the only
possibility available, marriage as a main occupation. Marriage is one of the important
themes in Middlemarch as most of the characters marry for love and yet marriage still
appears unpleasant and unromantic. Unlike other novels of that time, marriage is not
considered the fundamental source of happiness. An ill advised or not wise marriage
between two people who are inherently compatible never becomes completely tuneful.

In 1898, they discovered of radium and polonium and described the properties of
radium and its products. It is noteworthy that the couple achieved these
breakthroughs despite not having access to adequate laboratory facilities and having
a stressful teaching schedule. Their work formed the basis for much of the
following research in nuclear physics and chemistry. For their study into the
spontaneous radioactive decay, they received a half share of the Nobel Prize for
Physics in 1903.
Pierre died in Paris on April 19, 1906.
History of Curie s law:
Curie s law was first published in Annales de Chimie et de Physique in 1895 by
Pierre Curie. It is found to be followed by certain gases (like O_2 and NO), dilute
solutions of paramagnetic salts of rare earth and some other crystalline salts and
alkali metal vapors. In general, it is applicable for paramagnetic materials with weak
externally applied magnetic fields or high temperatures as the magnetization saturates
in the case of strong magnetic fields or low temperatures.
Statistical analysis can be used to derive Curie s law as resulting from the properties
of a system of feebly interacting particles possessing magnetic dipole moments. When
there is no externally applied magnetic field, these magnetic moments of the particles
point in random directions. However, when the field is switched on, the magnetic
moments of the particles are aligned in the direction of the externally applied field
resisting the thermal motion which

the Grammys committee changed a very controversial rule. Traditionally artists that
were unsigned to a record label were unable to be nominated for an award. The new
rule, however now allows unsigned artists to be nominated for a Grammy. This used

The Grammys has opened up a whole new world for both SoundCloud and
unsigned artists. In this statement made by Bill Freimuth, The Grammys aren t just

about this issue. A petition was started in 2016 by a group of independent artists as
you may be able to conclude, they got enough signatures to raise awareness for this
topic. This quote made by Bill Freimuth, Streaming is here and probably here to

controversial because many people don t understand that artists don t need to be

26. How Does Glucose Affects The Body
Glucose is an important fuel for our bodies. Blood glucose levels are normally in a
certain range. Our body has a system that regulates how much glucose circulates in
our blood stream. It is centered on a hormone called insulin, which is released from
the pancreas. Insulin speeds up the transfer of glucosethroughout the body where it
is used to fuel energy. In Type 1 Diabetes the body does not allow the pancreas to
produce insulin. Previously, type 1 diabetes was used to be referred to as juvenile
diabetes and is usually diagnosed in children and young teenagers (Leelarathna,
Guzder, Muralidhara, Lewis Evans, 2011). Type 1 diabetes is usually caused when
there is a fault in the producing cells, called Pancreatic Beta Cells. Faults to the

Cola could make improvements in their product and to market it in a different
light, which would lead to an increase in sales. 2.2 In the first major change since

change in the label of Heinz tomato started with ketchup consumers having the
perception that its ketchup is full of artificial or potentially artificial flavours. This

30. Explain The Motives Of British Imperialism In Africa
Motives for British Imperialism in Africa
Before the Europeans began the New Imperialism in Africa, very little was known
about the inner parts of the continent. However, after some explorers delved deeper
into the heart of Africa, the Europeans soon realized how economically important this
area was, and how much they could profit from it. At the time, Britain had only small
occupations of land in Africa, but after they realized that they could make money
from the rich resources from the inner regions of Africa, they wanted to invade the
African countries and take over. This led to the scramble and ultimately, the partition
of Africa. During the Age of Imperialism, from 1870 1914, Britain was a major
country, which proved to be true in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They took up the scientific ideas of natural selection and the survival of the fittest
and applied the concepts to the human social world. However, some westerners
actually genuinely thought that they should help and westernize the inferior
countries of the world. The British went into Africa, thinking that it was their duty
to spread their advances of medicine, law, western civilization, and the Christian
religion. This was proved to be embraced in the anthem of imperialism, called the
White Man s Burden by Rudyard Kipling. He expressed in the poem that the duty
of the white man was to teach and help the people who they cast the inferior rank
to. However, it is hard to believe that this was Britain s most important goal in their
imperialism. Finally, the most important reason to British imperialism was their
desire to advance economically. Their economy was primarily based on trade, and
because colonies could be added as a form of imperial control, it only furthered and
expanded trade. Because such countries as Germany and France began to rise to
power, Britain was confronted with competition, so they felt that they had to take the
African land first. The British feared that as the other countries began to become
stronger and more stable, they would steal their markets, so that is how the scramble
for Africa starts. As for the Suez Canal, it became extremely important for money

One of the main characteristics of the system is its decimal nature; therefore, the
conversion between smaller and larger units is made by moving the decimal point
to the left of right. The SI system of units (Systeme International d Unites),
developed from the metric system, and has been defined and recommended as the
system of choice for scientific use worldwide. The primary units in the SI system
which are of interest to the motor mechanic are as follows:
QUANTITYUNITSYMBOL Length Meterm MassKilogramkg Capacity Litrel
TemperatureDegree CelsiusoC TemperatureDegree KelvinK TimeSeconds
ForceNewtonN Heat Joulej PowerWattw 4.0 Derived Units Derived units are those
which can be expressed in terms of the primary units so as to provide more units to
work with. There is a primary unit for length, but not for area or volume, however,
it is possible to derive units for area and volume from the primary units. Any area
is measured as the products of two lengths. It can be said that an area has the
dimensions of (length) x (breadth) and so is measured in squared units. Area =
length x breadth and if the length of each of these is given in meters, then, area =
m x m = m2 so the derived unit for area is the square meter which is written m2.
Another derived unit is that of volume which is expressed in cubic meters written as
m3Volume = length x breadth x height; m x m x m = m3

Advantages and Disadvantages of International Trade
Introduction
The exchange of goods and services among countries is known as international
trade. It is the foundation of a global economy, where prices, supply and demand
factors affect and are affected by events all around the world. Such trade provides an
opportunity for countries to be exposed to products unavailable domestically and to
provide their local products to foreign markets (Heakal, 2015). The following
sections will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of international trade.
Advantages of International Trade
Given that the world is interdependent, economic progress of a country depends upon
its relations with other nations (Shukla, 2009). Through strong international trade,
economies have flourished and gained power to control and steer the global economy
(Economy Watch, 2010). Over the years, it has offered a wide range of benefits to
various economies across the globe. The rising importance of international trade has
been fueled by contemporary production techniques, innovative transportation
systems, transnational organizations, outsourcing activities and expeditious
industrialization (Economy Watch, 2010). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Local production can suffer as domestic industries become dominated by foreign
competitors and go out of business (Shukla, 2009). As a result, the local economy
can become dependent on foreign economies, leading to loss of local employment
(V.Vijayasri, 2013). Overdependence on affluent economies can be risky as they can
impose their political agendas on weaker economies in order to exploit them (Shukla,
2009). Exploitation also occurs in the form of embargoes and other trade restrictions
imposed in case differences arise among trading nations (V.Vijayasri,

they are different in every aspect. One of the major differences is that one is
wealthy and the other is always in need of financial assistance. The older brother,
Pete, is a successful real estate agent while his younger brother, Donald, works as a
painter whenever he can. The two brothers are very different in their belief about
what is valuable. Pete is a man that has worked hard and values what he has acquired.

what you have is honorable and the way it should be. When Webster, a man they
give a ride to, says, Everyone will prosper together. Donald agrees by saying, That s
great. That s the way it ought to be. (399) Not only does Donald believe that
everyone should share, but he has a deep concern with the well being of others. He
is more concerned with the fate of his and everybody else s soul. Wolf states,
Donald couldn t content himself with worrying about his own soul. He had to
worry about everyone else s, and especially Pete s. (391) Donald has a deep feeling
that his brother is danger because of the way he has put money and material things
before believing in God. His need to be some sort of savior has caused him to put
his own needs behind the needs of others. He doesn t want much for himself. When
Pete holds five twenties out the window Donald stepped back as if horrified, and
says, I don t need that much (393). He gives everything that he has; he even gives

38. Causes Of The Second Triumvirate
The Second Triumvirate existed from 43 B.C. to 33 B.C. The Second Triumvirate
lasted for only ten years. The Second Triumvirate years were filled with a variety of
battles between the three men. Rome will fall with the new Triumvirate because the
people have been deceived and have faced many troubles, the Triumviratehas tasted
power and are greedy for more, and the three men in the Triumvirate mistrust and
dislike each other. The Triumvirate stealing from the public s fortune shows their lack
of morals and concern for Rome. Before the war against the conspirators started,
Mark Antonycommanded Lepidus to fetch the will (4.1.11) in order to see how
they would cut some charge in legacies (4.1.12). Some may say Antony took the
money to help protect the people of Rome. However, Mark Antony used the poor,
naive, confused public to ensure he got revenge on Brutus and the conspirators.
Antony sparked the fire to start this war in order to get revenge and will use the
people s money to get revenge, not to protect. In addition, the Triumvirate has no
respect for human life. Their lack of sympathy towards the deaths of soldiers and
civilians showed their inconsideration for them. They simply said that they shall not

Russian and American Political Systems in Comparative Perspective Russian and
American political systems are alike in the perspective of comparison. Both
governments provide a framework for three branches of government: the executive,
the legislative, and judicial. Both countries also have a bicameral legislature as well
as separate elections of the legislature and the executive branch. Both countries are
the lead legislative body. There is assurance of this author in Section One, Chapter
Five, and Article One of the Russian Constitution that declares The Federal
Assembly Parliament of the Russian Federation shall be the supreme representative
and legislative body of the Russian Federation (The Constitution of the Russian
Federation). There is also a judicial branch that is elected a bit differently in each
country, but ultimately have the same responsibilities. However, they are different
in political parties and the order of the country. Tocqueville states, Without
comparisons to make, the mind does not know how to proceed (Comparing Political
Systems). This political thinker emphasizes that in order for any country to advance,
some type of evaluation must be done to see what works for a place and what doesn
t. What perhaps works for Russia may not work for the United States of America. As
for my part of the group presentation, I will be comparing the legislature of the

Sephora Direct
1. Assuming she receives the additional funding, how should Bornstein allocate her
budget across the various digital categories? Given that the additional funding
requested must be shifted from Sephora s other marketing spending, where would
you propose to cut? Why?
According to 2010 data, 45% of Sephora s media spending is in retail marketing that
includes catalogs, store animations and print followed by 35% in Online marketing
that includes search, affiliate and social media and 20% in Beauty Insider marketing
that includes mails, gifts and events. The major chunk of media spending goes to
traditional retail spending which in my view needs to be cut down. The reason for
cutting catalog and print costs is that each day ... Show more content on

Beauty talk was launched in September 2010. As more and more people started
shopping online, beauty talk became important. I feel that it was wise to create
Beauty Talk as a separate social platform to facebook because it connected the
company with its beauty insiders, future customers and its clients. It became a
central place where clients could anonymously ask personal questions and get
quick response from Sephora experts or other members of the Sephora community.
Also with beauty talk, Sephora could recognize its Superusers people who
answered a lot of questions voluntarily. It was built with strong search
functionality. It also helped Sephora to save and query responses. People could
ask potentially embarrassing questions which would not be possible to be asked
on facebook as the real identity of the member would be revealed. Viewers could
also search previously posted questions and answers. But it did not get the required
response as people found it to be more in depth and less well understood experience.

competitors should the company be most worried about?
Sephora s competitors include:

41. Isabella DEste And The Renaissance
Isabella d Este was a patron of the arts who had a very well educated and privileged
upbringing that contributed to her dexterous lifestyle. She grew up in an
environment where she could thrive as a politician or a patron of the arts because of
her outstanding education. Isabella s parents believed that all of their children should
be educated equally and should each be given the same opportunities. She was lucky
because many women during the Renaissancewere not educated Her parents are the
main reason she was such a successful woman in the Renaissance. As well as being
a patron, Isabella d Este was a political figure for some time. While her husband
was in prison, she had to perform his job. While her husband was in the military,
Isabella used her resources to broaden the stature of Ferrara. She was able to
become not only an artistic figure but a political one too while she was doing her
husband s job. D Este was a noble figure for many and influenced many different
aspects of the Renaissance. Isabella d Este, a notable patron of the artsand collector of
antiquities, established the first known studiolo (study) created for a woman. .
Isabella d Este had interests in many different aspects of the rebirth of Greco
Roman cultures, such as art and antiques as well as politics, which all had some
influence on the overall spirit of the Renaissance. d Este was very passionate about
what she did and was excited that she could share that with the world. Isabella d Este

Collective Thought vs. Individual Thought: Discussing the Categories of
Understanding
When discussing the use of symbols in both Durkheim and Strauss works, it is
important for us to look at how both thinkers talk about the categories of
understanding. In Elementary Forms, Durkheim believes the categories of
understanding are grounded in the social, using Australian totemism to explain how
the primitive mind used symbols derived from collective thought to create the ways in
which we categorize ideas in society today. In saying this, he was adopting both an
empiricist and a priori approach in explaining the categories. He states that the
categories are inherent to human nature, but only ... Show more content on

In the hunt at a distance it is the reverse (Pg. 52). The use of menstruating woman in
hunting eagles is an illustration of how symbols are only meaningful when
understood in relationship to other symbols. While in most rites, a menstruating
woman is usually regarded as harmful, when used in eagle hunting she is a powerful
tool. To put it simply, while in one system she is considered one thing, in another
system she is considered something completely different. This is how Strauss
believes we form categories and classifications.
Though Durkheim does not have such an in depth look at how humans understand
relationships within categories, he does discuss what he believes are the origins of
classifications in his work. As Durkheim highlights in his analysis of Australian
totemism, the most important part of the religion is the feelings of kinship you feel
with fellow members of your clan. Because of these strong connections you feel to
your totemic group, there is an internal bond that consequently places you into a
certain category . According to Durkheim, this is the same kind of logic that results in
a genus the way that we sort humans into totemic groups is the same way that we try
to find similarities between things in nature and then classify them accordingly.
Furthermore, he writes the only groupings of that kind with which experience

43. Bugsy Siegel and his Visions on Las Vegas
The notorious Benjamin Bugsy Siegel envisioned Las Vegas to be a great
gambling city, and left the Flamingo behind as a symbol of his contribution to the
extravagant lifestyle; however, it is unknown to most that building the Flamingo
impacted his personal life as much as it made an impression on other s lives for
many years to come. Siegel faced a great many challenges during the construction
on the Flamingo hotel. His life became engulfed by the project, affected his
business and personal life, and even created a name for him that would continue
down in history. Benjamin Bugsy Siegel was born into a poor Jewish family in
1906 in Brooklyn and raised there for the remainder of his childhood. At a young age,
Siegel had already developed a troublesome personality and became involved in gangs
that were from the lower east side of Manhattan. Being a part of the local gangs,
Bugsy had committed numerous crimes, the main ones being theft. Often he would
steal money from merchants or just threaten them until they paid him a certain
amount. It was not until his teenage years that he met Meyer Lansky, a now infamous
mobster, and became part of the mafia. Lansky and Siegel became close friends
during their youth, which also happened to be the same time that Meyer Lansky was
putting together a small time mob. As author Ric Dickinson, author of Benjamin
Bugsy Siegel, stated in his article, During adolescence, Siegel befriended Meyer
Lansky, who was forming a small mob whose

The Matrix is a well known blockbuster film which was released in the year 1999.
Viewers commonly it identify by the fascinating video effects as well as the unreal
(yet real in the movie) acts performed in the scenes. The idea which I aim to explore
concerning the movie in this essay dwells on the usage of cinematographic elements,
the theme of fate as well as the stylistic use of literary elements.
The movie is well known for the advanced cinematographic effects and for a person
who understands film, the effects which are used in the film bring about a scientific
as well as imaginary concept which make the film fall under the genre of science
fiction. Although most films are fiction, sci fi films are quite intriguing because of

46. Weight Loss And Its Effect On Adult Onset Diabetes
In 2012, 86 million Americans 20 years and older had prediabetes. This is an
increase from 79 million in 2010 (American diabetes association, n.d.). Diabetes
ranks seventh among the leading causes of deaths in the United States (Healthy
people 2020, 2014). Most people do not know how deadly this disease can be.
Weight loss is a primary goal towards preventing this disease. There are many
companies today that introduce medications, and diet plans that promise instant
weight loss. These techniques are not always effective and that can be very
expensive. There is one way that is inexpensive and has been proven to reduce and
control weight, exercise! Exercise is the most offered suggestion by doctors to

Patients who are considered at risk, prediabetes and type 2 will be discharged with
this brochure. My goal is to provide efficient and effective preventive teaching in
order to reduce this deadly disease from occurring and provide physical activity
goals that everyone can incorporate in their daily lives and to make healthy lifestyle
changes. As previously stated, diabetes ranks seventh among deaths in the United
States. The number of people developing diabetes is rising at alarming rates and must
be stopped. According to the American Diabetes Association1.4 million new cases of
diabetes are diagnosed each year. The total cost of diagnosed diabetes was $245
billion dollars. Direct medical cost was $176 billion and $69 billion in reduced
productivity (American diabetes association, n.d.). Not only does the cost to treat
diabetes outrageous, but the number of complications and co morbid conditions
contribute to rising health care cost each year and possible death. These complications
and co morbid conditions include hypoglycemia, high blood pressure, cardiovascular
death, heart attack, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, and amputations (American
diabetes association, n.d.). Far too often, I see patients coming into the hospital
overweight, with poor eating habits and lack of daily activity. Most of these patients

47. Prescription Drug Abuse
One in three Americans are prescribed opioids from their doctor. Once someone is
prescribed a medication and take it daily, as told to do so by the doctor, it is
extremely easy to become dependent on the pills. Dependency on a drug means
that the body physically craves it and may experience withdrawals when the
prescription is stopped. Addiction characterizes as a mental need for the drug. The
behavior changes and abusing the medication will begin. Almost half of all
Americans know someone addicted to the pain pills they are prescribed to. Heather
VanderSloot knows the thoughts an addict has because four years ago she was an
addict. Heather was addicted to painkillers for eight years. She grew up extremely
close to her grandfather and after
48. Coral Reefs Need Help
Beautiful beaches, a hot sun, glistening sand, and a clear ocean would make the
perfect vacation, right? Many of us would enjoy being somewhere tropical. This
kind of vacation won t last much longer if we don t start taking care of endangered
coral reefs now! World government leaders should establish laws to protect them.
People may ask, If coral reefs are in such danger, why don t we fix the problem
since they provide benefits for the whole world? Frankly, it s not that simple.
Protecting endangered coral reefs will provide the whole world with long lasting
benefits.
To figure out how to solve the problem, we must start with the benefits they provide
for humans and nonhumans. Coral reefs support 128 corallivorous fish species, one ...

Despite coral reefs covering less than .2% of the ocean s area, they support 25% of
the marine fish species. The reefs also provide 25% of the fish caught in
developing countries as well as employ millions of fishermen to get the job done
(Reaser 1502). Although coral reefs may not support everyone directly, they support
surrounding countries. In the Maldives, tourism revenues amount for 45% of their
gross national product. In the Caribbean, $89 billion was raised in 1990. Florida s
reefs bring in $1.6 billion every year (Reaser 1502). The Great Barrier Reef in
Australia brings in $1.5 billion annually (Munday 263). Unfortunately, the coral reef
tourist industry will lose money where coral reefs are affected. Coral reefs protect
ocean shores as well as reduce storm damage, erosion, and flooding due to intense
waves. Over time, reefs have formed lagoons and calm shore lines that provide a
habitat for numerous species (Reaser 1502). Because of the strong dependence on
coral reefs by humans and nonhumans, awareness of their danger should be raised!
Shoreline erosion will increase because corals won t be strong enough to withstand
intense waves due to lack of skeletal growth. Our shorelines will be dirtier and less
safe without reefs to protect humans and nonhumans from intense waves which may
cause destruction (Reaser 1502).
Medical advancement is another lasting benefit from coral reefs. Approximately half
