Environmental pollution, causes, effects and remedyMahdi Mansur
In this slide, The causes, effects and remedy of Environmental Pollution is found out in an attractive way. All the data used in this presentation are from different online sources.
Water pollution throughout the world is affecting food chains and food webs. Water such as lakes, rivers, streams, creeks, and oceans become polluted in many different ways. One main way is the dumping of trash, or littering. Many creeks, rivers, and even oceans have been polluted by manmade items such as trash (EPA, 2011). When fresh water such as rivers and creeks become polluted, it hurts the surrounding wildlife.
This presentation contains:

Water pollution and its effect on animal healthSameer Sankhe
This ppt is related to Water pollution and It's effect on Animal health, preventive measures to be implemented, with information about various types of water pollution in the environment.
Water pollution is the contamination of water sources by substances which make the water unusable for drinking, cooking, cleaning, swimming, and other activities. Pollutants include chemicals, trash, bacteria, and parasites. All forms of pollution eventually make their way to water.
UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.
2. What is water
pollution?
Well Pollution is the
contamination of the
natural environment
with harmful
substances often as
a consequence of
human activities.
3. There are many
differents types of
pollution as:
• Water pollution
• Air pollution
• Land contamination
4. How does water
pollution occur?
Water pollution occurs when a lot of
chemicals, sewage and fertilizers are
dropped and if it is not treated before
being discharged
into waterways,
serious pollution
is the result.
5. Types of water pollution
Microbiological
Chemical
Oxygen-depleting Substances
Nutrients
Oil pollution
6. Microbiological
•Microbiological pollution is the natural form of
water pollution that is caused by microorganisms
in uncured water.
•Most of these organisms are harmless but some
bacteria, viruses, and protozoa can cause serious
diseases such as cholera and typhoid.
•This is a significant problem for people in third
world countries who have no clean drinking water
and/or facilities to cure the water.
8. Nutrients pollution
• • Nutrients are usually found in
wastewater and fertilizers. • These
can cause excess vegetation in the
water such as algae and weeds, using
up the oxygen in the water and
hurting the surrounding marine life
and other organisms in the water.
9. Chemical pollution
•Metals and solvents flow out of factories and into the
water, polluting the water and harming the wildlife.
• Pesticides from farms are like poison to the wildlife in
the water and kill and endanger the aquatic life.
•If birds or humans eat these infected fish the toxins are
transferred to us and we swallow these dangerous
pesticides and toxins, affecting our health.
10. CAUSES
Domestic households,
industrial and
agricultural practices
produce wastewater
that can cause pollution
of many lakes and
rivers.
Dumping of litter in the
sea can cause huge
problems in marine
animals and may result
in death .
11. Nuclear waste is
produced from
industrial, medical and
scientific processes
that use radioactive
material. Nuclear
waste can have
detrimental effects on
marine habitats
12. Effects of water
pollution
dead animals
•Dead plants
•harms the ecosystems
•heat waves
•Also climate change/global warming
•droughts
•more bugs
•more diseases
13. Effects of water
pollution
• •asthma
• •heavy breathing
• •cancer
• •acid rain
• •Each year about 250,000 people are
admitted to hospitals or emergency
rooms with pesticide poisoning
14. What can we do to
prevent water pollution?
• Be careful about what
you throw down your
sink or toilet.
• Use environmentally
household products,
such as washing
powder, household
cleaning agents and
toiletries.
• Don't throw litter
into rivers, lakes or
oceans.
