• Any change or modification in the physical, chemical
and biological properties of water that will have a
detrimental consequence on living things is water
pollution

Industrial causes
• Waste produced by industries contain large amount of
toxic chemicals.
• This waste is illegally disposed directly into the river or
seas without any treatment causing heavy water
pollution.
