Fellowship With God!
2 Cor 13:12-14 Greet one
another with a holy kiss. All
the saints greet you. The
grace of the Lord Jesus
Christ and the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy
Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Not only must we be in God’s family
“sonship” but we must also be in God’s
favor “fellowship!”
▪ It will be our goal today to consider the
benefits of fellowship with God and how this
will improve our lives!
▪ As it is true that “we” are better together
“team work!” It is even more so that we are
better when we are walking with God in our
lives!
▪ God is the only one that can fill the void in
our lives! “The whole in the soul of man!”
Walking with God!
▪ Gen 5:22-24 After he begot Methuselah,
Enoch walked with God three hundred years,
and had sons and daughters. So all the days of
Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.
And Enoch walked with God; and he was not,
for God took him.
▪ Gen 6:8-9 But Noah found grace in the eyes
of the LORD. This is the genealogy of Noah.
Noah was a just man, perfect in his
generations. Noah walked with God.
▪ Are we walking with God?
I. Right Food!
1 Pet 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk
of the word, that you may grow thereby!
▪ What are we feeding on, and feasting on in
our lives? What is our main course of food?
▪ 1 Jn 1:6-7 If we say that we have fellowship
with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do
not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light
as He is in the light, we have fellowship with
one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His
Son cleanses us from all sin.
Living in the light, feasting on what
is right!
▪ Ps 1:1-2 Blessed is the man Who walks not
in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in
the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the
scornful; But his delight is in the law of the
LORD, And in His law he meditates day and
night.
▪ Heb 5:14 But solid food belongs to those
who are of full age, that is, those who by
reason of use have their senses exercised to
discern both good and evil
II. Right Fun!
Heb 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he became of
age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's
daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with
the people of God than to enjoy the passing
pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ
greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he
looked to the reward.
▪ If sin was not fun, then nobody would do it, but
what we often fail to see is the damage it is doing
to us beneath the surface!
▪ We need to be careful to not become short
sighted!
Being a Christian is fun!
▪ My friends, God did not save us to let us sit and
sour. He expects us to be an example to a lost
and dying world of His love. Too many times,
people don’t want what we have because they
see no joy in our lives.
▪ Php 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will
say, rejoice!
▪ We have more reason that anyone else to live a
life of joy and happiness!
▪ We get to go through life with praise and peace,
now that sounds fun!
III. Right Fellowship!
We learn in God's word that fellowship is a HEART
issue, something to be felt and expressed!
▪ Act. 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the
apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the
breaking of bread, and in prayers.
▪ Act. 2:44 Now all who believed were together,
and had all things in common,
▪ Act. 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord
in the temple, and breaking bread from house to
house, they ate their food with gladness and
simplicity of heart,
Being one with the Lord!
▪ Gal. 2:20 “I have been crucified with
Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ
lives in me; and the life which I now live in
the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
▪ 2 Cor 5:15 and He died for all, that those
who live should live no longer for
themselves, but for Him who died for them
and rose again.
▪ We are to now live for Jesus!
Conclusion:
▪ Who are we walking with this morning?
Are we holding hands with Satan or the
Savior?
▪ What have we been feasting on, what do
we do for fun, who is at the center of our
heart this morning?
▪ Have you joined the fellowship of God?
Have you come to have your sins forgiven?
Are you a Christian?
▪ Let us learn to walk hand & hand with
Jesus!
