Jas 4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
This document outlines the schedule and topics for a talk on the purpose of man. It discusses that God alone can determine our purpose, which is to be united with Him. It provides evidence from scripture and the church that God created humans to be with Him. Finally, it explains that through Jesus, humanity has a way to be united with God, and that Jesus remains present in the world through the Holy Spirit since His ascension into heaven.
The document discusses the importance of spiritual growth and maturity. It outlines different stages of spiritual development using the analogy of an infant, child, teenager, and mature adult. Each stage is characterized by certain behaviors and mindsets. The goal is to progress from basic understanding to discernment, submission to authority, and mentoring others through mature character and intimacy with God.
This document discusses the intimate relationship that God desires with each individual person. It explains that while humans may perceive God as distant, God sees each person as uniquely created and values each soul. It also explains how sin separated humanity from God but that Jesus's sacrifice allows people to open the door to a deeper relationship with God through faith in Him. The document encourages readers to reflect on their own relationship with God and whether they want it to deepen.

It defines worship as engaging with God through singing, giving, attending gatherings, serving in the church, listening, and helping. The sermon notes that worship is compulsory and discusses phrases from the scripture passage about thirsting for God. It examines the conditions of modern life and calls for persistent worship with both spirit and flesh. The sermon emphasizes expressing worship through action, lips, hands, and mouth.
This document discusses praise and worship. It defines praise as an appreciation and acknowledgment of God based on his attributes, while worship is an act of surrender and adoration for God. It notes that spiritual praise is God-focused, an act of will, and done irrespective of circumstances. Spiritual worship comes from a personal relationship with God and involves full disclosure and commitment to God alone. The document provides examples of praise and worship from the Bible and discusses the benefits of regularly praising and worshipping God.

Brokenness is realizing the corruption of our natural selves and reliance on God. It is often triggered by difficult circumstances that break down our pride and self-sufficiency. Brokenness is a journey every believer must undertake, and it can be a breakthrough with a changed life. Though the pain depends on our response, God dwells with and revives the humble and contrite. True unity in the church comprises broken people committed to this process.
The document discusses the topic of prayer. It defines prayer as simply talking to God, like talking to a best friend or father. It says prayer can be done alone, with others, for others, in small or large groups, or as a nation. Prayer can occur anywhere, including in a car, bathroom, church, or outside. Jesus taught his followers the Lord's Prayer as a model for how to pray. The document also provides several Bible verses about prayer and its power.
God calls all Christians to:
1. A restored relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ.
2. Follow Christ through obedience and becoming more holy.
3. Serve and use their spiritual gifts to fulfill God's unique purpose for their lives.
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.
The document discusses what it means to be a committed Christian. It begins by examining a passage from John about Jesus being glorified and commanding his disciples to love one another. It then defines a committed Christian as someone who is committed to giving God all glory, loving other believers, and having unwavering loyalty to God. The challenges facing the church today that can undermine commitment are identified as religious pluralism, materialism, and secularism. The document emphasizes that true commitment involves living according to God's commands, not just making promises of loyalty.
This document discusses keys to successful prayer. It questions whether the motivation, method, or frequency of one's prayers is lacking. It emphasizes developing an intimate experience of God's glory through prayer by "staying close" to God rather than "staying away", and growing one's connection with God. It presents the "Tower of Prayer" concept involving trusting, watching, and responding elements.
Trust in the LORD with ALL Your Hear | Proverbs 3:5-6; 1:7, 21:2 Bible StudyDanny Scotton, Jr.
The fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge and wisdom. We must acknowledge that we creatures lack the knowledge and wisdom of the Creator. Thus, it only makes sense to follow the Creator of life’s instructions for life. We are to trust in the LORD entirely and exclusively, not in our feeble understanding. In everything we do, we are to submit to Him, and He will make our paths straight (morally). Let us not rely on our own moral compass and ethical judgments, for it is the LORD who is the ultimate Judge.

The document discusses the keys of prayer, faith, and obedience in hearing God's voice. It states that through regular prayer and developing a personal relationship with God, one can hear His voice in thoughts of encouragement. Having faith in God without proof is also important. Obedience to God by following His commands makes it easier to believe and trust Him. The document provides five ways to practice hearing God's voice: setting aside daily quiet time, being still, not demanding answers from God, expecting to hear from Him, and being aware of messages from angels.

This document discusses a website called ProverbsForWisdom.com that is dedicated to sharing wisdom from the Book of Proverbs. It provides summaries of key passages from Proverbs and testimonials about how studying Proverbs can benefit one's life. The website also lists additional resources for learning from Proverbs, including YouTube videos, daily email subscriptions, and bible study guides. The overall goal of the website is to introduce people, including the creator's grandchildren, to the practical wisdom contained in the Book of Proverbs.
The document provides an overview of seeking and knowing God's will. It discusses the different types of God's will, including his fulfilled will through Jesus, revealed will found in scripture, and specific will for individual lives. Fulfilling God's revealed will means placing Christ first, loving God, being thankful, making disciples, and living holy lives. Parents have a responsibility to bring up children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Living together as a Christ-centered family allows parents to instruct children according to scripture so they can shine as lights in the world.
Pre Encounter Lesson 8: What You Need to Know About the EncounterRhea Deligero
This document discusses the importance of having an encounter with God. It states that during an encounter, which should last three days, one will receive direction from God and understand their true purpose. It also notes that during this time it is important to lay aside prejudices so nothing hinders receiving from God. The document references biblical encounters, such as the Israelites wanting to meet God for three days and Paul's encounter transforming him from a Christian persecutor to a defender of Christianity. It maintains that a key goal of an encounter is experiencing death of the old nature and resurrection into newness of life.
This document provides guidance for sharing the gospel with someone who is spiritually unaware or seeking. It outlines seven steps: 1) focus your heart on Christ; 2) pray for opportunities and passion to share faith; 3) share your testimony and life; 4) ask about their beliefs and answer questions respectfully; 5) share the core truths of the gospel; 6) pray for God to work in their heart; 7) respect their choice to accept or reject and continue showing Christ through actions. The goal is to help people know Christ and become disciples who make disciples.
Pastor Elio Marrocco's "Secrets of the Believer's Victory" sermon at New Life Christian Church on September 2012. You can learn more about New Life Christian Church here: http://www.newlifecc.ca
This document discusses the importance of unity in the church. It provides scriptural support for unity from passages like Ephesians 4:11-13 and Hebrews 10:23-25. It defines unity as oneness and agreement. It encourages focusing on commonalities over differences, avoiding criticism and gossip, resolving conflicts biblically, supporting leaders, and encouraging one another. The document warns that lack of unity through things like cliques, debts, or not working can hinder the church. Overall, it promotes practicing love and focusing on Christ to preserve unity.
The document discusses the key elements that must be present in a disciple of Christ. It begins by stating that becoming a disciple starts with a decision to follow Christ and continues with ongoing decisions. It emphasizes that disciples receive instruction from Jesus' teachings and must step out in action by doing what Jesus commanded, such as healing, preaching, and making other disciples. True commitment requires taking up one's cross daily despite challenges. Disciples must also increase their faith through believing God can do anything and find strength through God during difficulties. With power from the Holy Spirit and God, and motivated by love, disciples can do greater works than Jesus and will be identified by their love for one another.
The document discusses the concept of personal discipleship and argues that it is needed in addition to corporate discipleship. It provides 10 reasons why personal discipleship, which it defines as "spiritual parenting", is important but often lacking. Some of the key reasons given include that discipleship is often misunderstood as just teaching, most believers feel inadequately trained, and biblical truth is often presented without showing how it fits into the Christian life as a whole.
This document discusses the importance of burying the "old man of sin" through baptism into Christ and walking in newness of life. It warns that many Christians risk "digging up the dead man" by returning to sinful ways. The text encourages readers to remember their redemption through Christ's blood and to continually crucify their sinful nature, as the life in Christ is one of constant crucifixion with Him. Failure to keep the "dead man" buried could remove believers and cause their latter end to be worse than the beginning.
God called Abraham to leave his country and go to a land that God would show him. Abraham obeyed God and left his home in Ur of the Chaldeans for the land of Canaan as God had instructed. Through faith and obedience, Abraham is considered a friend of God in the Bible.

The document is a song lyric praising Jesus as the savior of souls. It expresses a desire to know Jesus more deeply and live devoted to him. The chorus repeats that Jesus saves souls and will receive praise forever. The bridge also reiterates that Jesus saves souls and deserves praise.
The document is lyrics to the song "King of Majesty" by Hillsong. It expresses the singer's devotion to Jesus, their desire to know him more deeply, and their commitment to praising him forever as the savior of their soul.
The document expresses devotion to Jesus Christ as the savior of the soul. It states the desire to know and be with Jesus more than before, with the words coming from the heart. The document repeats that the only desire is to be with the Lord as the King of Majesty.
The document provides a brief message about a fire. It states that a fire has occurred and has now stopped burning downward. The two word title and message convey critical information about a fire event in just a few words.
The document is a song about the power and presence of Jesus. It describes how Jesus pours down his spirit like a shower and brings freedom, joy, and love. It calls the reader to shout, dance, and sing because in Jesus' presence, they are free. Their mourning is turned to dancing and weeping to laughter. Jesus fills them up, overflows their cup, and brings his love and touch to their heart.
The document expresses devotion to God and Jesus Christ. It states a desire to know and be with God more than before, with the words coming from the heart. It praises Jesus as the savior of the soul and declares an intention to give praises to him forever. It repeatedly refers to God as the King of Majesty.
The document is about lifting up Jesus and wanting to see him exalted. It repeats the phrase "We want to see Jesus lifted high" and expresses a desire for Jesus to be lifted up like a banner across the land so that all people may know the truth that he is the way to heaven. It also references making progress step by step through prayer, with strongholds coming down.
Man of Faith: Conversation with God Genesis 15Ed Sullivan
God promises Abram that his descendants will possess the land of Canaan. Abram questions how this can be since he has no heir. God tells him that a son from his own body will be his heir. When Abram believes God, it is credited to him as righteousness. God makes a covenant with Abram, passing between pieces of sacrificed animals, promising the land from Egypt to Euphrates to his descendants.
This document discusses the purpose, power, privilege, and promise of light based on several Bible passages. It argues that light is meant to shine for others and overcome darkness, not be hidden. Those who walk in the light have fellowship with God and are cleansed of sin. In contrast, those who love darkness avoid exposure of their deeds. The document encourages readers to let their light shine and not hide from spiritual light, promising that sharing light with others increases it while hoarding it allows it to die out.
God instructed Abram to bring animals and birds to make a covenant between them. Abram cut the animals in half and laid the pieces opposite each other. A deep sleep and darkness fell on Abram. God told Abram his descendants would be slaves in Egypt for 400 years but then leave with great possessions. God said he would give Abram's descendants the land from Egypt to the Euphrates River. To seal the covenant, a smoking firepot and flaming torch passed between the animal pieces. [END SUMMARY]
The document discusses how God wants to be our best friend and how we can develop a close friendship with Him. It states that through Jesus' sacrifice, we can now directly access God at any time. It encourages maintaining constant conversation with God by sharing all aspects of life, and continual meditation on His word through focused thinking about scripture throughout the day. Developing this close friendship is built through prayer and meditation.
The document is a song asking Jesus for strength and guidance to get through each day one at a time. It acknowledges being human and imperfect while looking to Jesus for help in believing in oneself and climbing the stairway ahead. Each day is seen as a new opportunity for Jesus to show the way and give the strength needed to face what each day may bring.
This document discusses the amazing grace of God. It defines grace as God's unmerited favor and kindness shown despite our unworthiness. Grace saves us from death and brings salvation through faith alone. Grace also schools us by teaching us to deny sin and live righteously. Finally, grace separates and empowers God's people to be set apart for His work and purified to bring Him glory. The conclusion encourages living daily in God's amazing grace that forgives, teaches, and empowers believers.
The document discusses the glory of the cross from a sermon. It covers three main points: (1) The cross represents man's sins that Jesus died for. (2) The cross demonstrates God's great love for humanity in that he was willing to sacrifice his son. (3) The cross provides forgiveness from God that humanity desperately needs, as salvation cannot be achieved through any other means. The cross is the central focal point of God's redemptive plan and the only means by which people can be reconciled to God.
1) Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, and this claim was affirmed by God the Father, others, and even demons. As the Son, Jesus was equal to God in power and authority.
2) Jesus demonstrated his equality with God by performing miracles with the same power and authority as God. He also said "I and the Father are one."
3) As the Son of God, Jesus was obedient to God the Father in all things. He only did what he saw the Father doing and said he did the Father's commands out of love for him.
Joseph's brothers were afraid that Joseph would seek revenge on them for the wrong they did to him in the past. They asked Joseph for forgiveness, reminding him of their father's dying request that Joseph forgive them. Joseph cried upon hearing this, but reassured his brothers that he would not seek revenge and would take care of them and their children instead. The story shows how God can turn evil acts into good and that forgiveness is better than holding grudges.
This document discusses the dangers of ungodly fellowship. It argues that fellowship with ungodly people can cause believers to lose their identity, integrity, influence, and inheritance. The document defines fellowship as having something in common and urges believers to be of one mind and purpose with God, not with sinful people. It warns that compromise with sinners breaks God's law, harms one's work for God, and allows Satan to win. The conclusion exhorts readers to be careful who they associate with and choose fellowship with either God or Satan.
1 Cor 1:17-18 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
How do we live wisely and in tune with the One who knows the future? From a talk by Russ Fochler at Blazing Fire Church on October 13, 2012. See www.blazingfire.org for the podcast.
This document contains a summary of a sermon given on Proverbs 31:30. It discusses the meaning of the verse, which contrasts the deceitfulness and vanity of physical beauty with praising a woman who fears the Lord. It says charm and beauty will fade over time, but a woman who fears God will be honored. It defines what it means to fear the Lord, which is to have godly reverence and persevering faith. Such women who make up the church will be noticed, blessed, and honored by God both now and eternally.
The document discusses the concept of worship. Some key points made include:
1) True worship is giving worth and value to God with our whole lives centered around Him, not ourselves. It involves an experiential relationship with God in both spirit and truth.
2) Idolatry is at the root of all sin, as we were created to worship and will worship something. If not God, we will worship other things that can lead to our ruin.
3) Jesus demonstrated true worship is found in Him as the image of God, and that we should worship in response to witnessing who He is and what He has done, not for personal gain or experiences. Our goal should be to reflect

Who is God? what is God’s appearance today? Is it God’s word, is it the Bible? But how do we view God’s word? Is it the same as looking at what the world says?
Let’s study from the Bible, how God’s role is in the world today. We can know that if there is no God’s word, we cannot be born or live in this world. God’s word is the criterion of our life, and how we should use God’s word Lead into our lives, from individuals to groups, and finally to the world, let us lift up the word of God and illuminate this dark world

The author often cites the bible in prayer, and is based on the concatenation of the scriptures, which often attracts criticism from others. In my daily life, I look for God’s words as a standard of conduct, especially in terms of diet, 129. It was even more subject to criticism. And some people persuaded why it was so ostentatious, why not join the group with everyone? These seem to be reasonable, especially the truth of the world, but in my opinion this is a betrayal of God. But God’s grace is showing up under your constant perseverance, such as the few daily ailments, after surgery quick recovery, and countless eternal blessings,
The document discusses God's providential care over believers. It notes that the Spirit intercedes for us according to God's will and that all things work together for good for those who love God. It uses Joseph's life as an example of how God orchestrated events to preserve life. While circumstances may appear good or bad, outward conditions do not determine faithfulness to God. The document reassures that God is in control and works all things together for the ultimate good of those who love him.

This important message brings joy and freedom when we understand what it means for each of us. It's truly amazing good news instead of the "somewhat good news" many of us have been taught. This letter is from John the Elder to a chosen lady and her children. John expresses his love for them and reminds them that God's truth lives within them. He urges them to love one another as God has commanded, not as a new commandment but one they have had from the beginning. John warns of deceivers who do not believe that Jesus came in the flesh and advises avoiding anyone who does not teach the truth about Christ. He hopes to visit them soon to complete their joy.

This document provides a summary of a Sunday school lesson given at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on June 14, 2020. The lesson focuses on verses from Proverbs chapter 3 about trusting fully in God and not relying on one's own understanding. It encourages setting God as the highest priority, listening to His guidance through Scripture, and accepting correction as a sign of His love.
Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden. Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempts Eve to eat fruit from the forbidden tree by sowing seeds of doubt in God's word. Eve then gives the fruit to Adam, and they immediately realize they are naked and ashamed. God questions Adam and Eve about their actions, but they blame each other and the serpent. God curses the serpent and prophecies that Eve's offspring (Jesus Christ) will one day defeat Satan. Their disobedience separates them from God and introduces sin, fear, and shame into the world.
The flag described in the document represents Tajikistan and symbolizes key aspects of Tajik culture and society. The green stripe stands for agriculture, the red stripe represents sovereignty, and the white stripe symbolizes cotton, the main crop. The central crown contains seven stars that unite workers, peasants, intellectuals, and other social classes. To be Tajik is closely associated with being Muslim.
This document discusses the meaning and significance of saying "Amen." It can be summarized in 3 sentences:
When we say "Amen," we are (1) attaining an understanding of what is being affirmed, (2) affirming that what was said is true, and (3) agreeing to take action based on what we understand and affirm. Saying "Amen" means fully comprehending, believing in, and committing to follow God and his word.

Mt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Act 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Mt 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.'
Tit 2:11-14 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Act 20:35 "I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Rom 8:5-8 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
This document discusses the benefits of being part of a local church congregation. It outlines three main benefits: 1) Worship gives encouragement as Christians support and stimulate one another, 2) Worship gives enjoyment, as gathering with others is a privilege and blessing, not a burden, 3) Worship gives endurance, as enduring in the Christian faith requires drawing near to God with others and looking to Jesus as an example of enduring. The local church is where Christians can find these benefits of encouragement, enjoyment, and endurance to help them in their faith.
Rom 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
The document discusses the Beatitude of "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness." It explains that this refers to having a strong desire and appetite for righteousness that is needed to sustain one's spiritual life. Specifically:
1) One must have a "proper appetite" for righteousness and God's word, rather than worldly things.
2) One must have the "proper attitude" of prioritizing obedience to God over men, as exemplified by Joseph and early Christians.
3) One must have the "proper acquaintances" by avoiding friendship with the world and being separate from unrighteousness. True Christians should seek to help others become friends of God rather than just being friends with
Heb 2:3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.
Jn 12:42-43 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Col 3:1-2 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Mt 17:20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
1) The document discusses the serious and deadly nature of sin, noting that sin separates us from God.
2) It explains that sin comes from three sources: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
3) The solution to sin is found in Jesus, who died to pay for our sins so that through repentance and baptism, we can receive forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This document discusses two stories from Luke 18 about maintaining faith and humility. The first story is about a persistent widow who petitions an unjust judge for justice, teaching that people ought to always pray and not lose heart. The second story contrasts a Pharisee who boasts of his righteousness with a tax collector who humbly asks for God's mercy. Both stories teach that the key is to rely on God through prayer and faith, rather than finding fault in others or exalting oneself. The conclusion exhorts the reader to focus on having faith in God rather than faultfinding, and to change oneself through humility before trying to change the world.
The document outlines God's plan of salvation according to scripture as involving five steps: 1) Hearing the word of God, 2) Believing in Jesus, 3) Repenting of sins, 4) Confessing faith in Jesus, and 5) Being baptized for the remission of sins. It emphasizes that while people have come up with many plans of salvation, there is only one plan given by God in the Bible. It encourages examining whether one has truly obeyed God's biblical plan of salvation or been deceived by human-made plans.
God is everlasting, existing outside of time. He is glorious in power and authority, as shown by His presence on Mount Sinai. God is also gracious, showing mercy and grace by sending Jesus to die for humanity's sins. Finally, God alone is intrinsically good - He defines what is right and wrong. The document examines scripture to showcase God's eternal nature and qualities of glory, grace and goodness as the supreme being.
This document discusses the difference between repentance and reporting. It defines repentance as feeling sincere regret and remorse about one's wrongdoings that leads to a change in actions and thoughts. Reporting is simply giving an account of something observed without genuine regret. The Bible describes repentance as having three parts: showing sorrow for sins, stopping sinful behaviors, and starting righteous service. True repentance involves a life transformation where one turns away from sin and toward God through their deeds. The document encourages examining one's own fruits to determine if they have truly repented or just reported about spiritual matters.

The Revelation Chapter 7 Working Copy.docxFred Gosnell
John witnesses the sealing of God's 144,000 witnesses, and he hears the crying out or shouting of an unnumbered multitude of those who have been saved during the great tribulation.
This is an intermission scene before opening the seventh seal. We have seen six seals opened revealing of the events that would shortly occur. The first 4 reveal what was to occur in the great tribulation during the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in AD70.
The fifth seal reveals the question from those slain as to when the Lord would avenge their death. The sixth seal reveals the answer to them from the One on the throne and of the Lamb which would be the punishment of their persecutors and accomplices. John sees four messengers/angels holding back the four winds of the earth & keeping them from blowing on the earth, the sea or any tree. In this figurative language, these are not heavenly messengers/angels. These represent those who are trying to restrain the word of God everywhere. Their efforts are restrained by the messenger in verse 2, preventing them from holding back the 4 winds, the spread of the gospel of Christ by His messengers/angels. These 4 winds stand on the four corners of the earth, Rome’s worldwide influence to stop its spread. But the gospel will be preached in all the earth. See the study for the Bible passages that support this. John hears the commands given relating to the sealing of the servants of God and the figurative number representing them. John sees a great multitude standing before the throne of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues who are clothed with white robes. All the messengers/angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four beasts fell before the throne and worshipped God. One of the elders asks John what those were that were wearing white robes. John said he knew and the elder identifies them. The chapter ends with his explanation.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.

3. Becoming a Friend of God!
Js 2:21-23 Was not Abraham our father
justified by works, when he offered his
son Isaac upon the altar? You see that
faith was active along with his works,
and faith was completed by works, and
the scripture was fulfilled which says,
"Abraham believed God, and it was
reckoned to him as righteousness"; and
he was called the friend of God.
4.
5. How many of us here this morning
value friendship?
One might be surprised just how much
attention is given to the subject of
“friendship” in the Bible!
▪ Our friends are a big part of our lives and
we have been created for companionship!
▸Gen.2:18 “it is not good for man to be
alone”
▪ From the beginning man was created to be
a social being, we need friends & family!
6. The importance of friends!
▪ Pr 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a
brother is born for adversity.
▪ Pr 18:24 A man who has friends must himself
be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer
than a brother.
▪ Pr 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But
the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
▪ Pr 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry
man, And with a furious man do not go, Lest you
learn his ways And set a snare for your soul.
7. As there is no fiercer enemy than God, there
is also no better friend than God!
God is in fact the “best” friend!
▪ From the very beginning God has desired
that man would be the friend of God!
▪ God has desired that we would walk with
Him and be in fellowship with Him!
▪ God’s plan for man in principle has
always been the same! Faith + Obedience
= Salvation!
▪ This is how we become God’s friend!
8. I. God Desires that we Find Him!
Is. 55:6-7 Seek the LORD while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked
forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his
thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will
have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will
abundantly pardon.
▪ God has always desired a relationship with His
creation! From the beginning God is intimately
involved with man!
▸“Created in image/likeness of God”
(Gen.1:26)
▸“Given life by hands & mouth of God” (2:7)
9. God didn’t move, it was man!
(Gen. 3:1-13)
▪ It was Adam & Eve that hid from God and not
God hiding from them!
▪ God can be found, God can be known!
▸Ps 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I
will be exalted among the nations, I will be
exalted in the earth!
▸Rom. 1:20 For since the creation of the world
His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even
His eternal power and Godhead, so that they
are without excuse!
10. God has given mankind an invitation to
“come unto Him!”
▪ Rev. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say,
"Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let
him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take
the water of life freely.
▪ God desire that we search for Him and find Him!
▸Mt 7:7-8 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek,
and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to
you. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be
opened.”
▸3 things to do, 3 results that follow!
11. II. God Desires that we Be-
Friend Him!
To be our friend is one thing, to be God’s
friend is everything!
▪ God desires that all of mankind become His
friend! Jesus came to be-friend us!
▸1Tim. 2:4 who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
▸Jn. 15:15 No longer do I call you servants,
for the servant does not know what his master
is doing; but I have called you friends, for all
that I have heard from my Father I have made
known to you.
12. Frindship works both ways!
Give some, get some!
▪ As we are to “seek” God, God has also come to
“seek” us!
▸Lk. 19:0 "for the Son of Man has come to seek
and to save that which was lost."
▪ Faith is essential in becoming God’s friend!
▸Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to
please Him, for he who comes to God must
believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of
those who diligently seek Him.
▸See also (Eph. 2:4-8) “Grace through faith!”
13. III. God Desires that we Follow
Him!
▪ Becoming a friend of God is not the end, it is
simply the beginning or an amazing journey with
Him! A life of excitement!
▸Mt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to
them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me
in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I
have commanded you; and lo, I am with you
always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
14. Mt 28:20 "Teaching them to observe all things
that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
▪ Teaching from di-das’-ko which means it is
always in the present, there is no past tense
(have taught or have learned)
▪ This idea is seen many times in the Bible!
▸Rom. 6:4 “even so we also should walk in
newness of life.”
▸Lk. 9:23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone
desires to come after Me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
15. Are we willing to truly follow in the foot
steps of Jesus?
▪ Mt. 16:24Then Jesus told his disciples, “If
anyone would come after me, let him deny
himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
▪ 1 Jn. 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought
himself also to walk just as He walked.
▪ 1 Pet. 2:21 For to this you were called,
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us
an example, that you should follow His steps:
16. IV. God Desires that we
Fellowship Him!
▪ This is to always be the desired result, to live
hand and hand with Jesus!
▸1 Jn 1:3 that which we have seen and heard
we declare to you, that you also may have
fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is
with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
▸Gen 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah.
Noah was a just man, perfect in his
generations. Noah walked with God.
17. 2 Cor 6:14-18 Do not be unequally yoked together
with unbelievers. For what fellowship has
righteousness with lawlessness? And what
communion has light with darkness? And what
accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a
believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement
has the temple of God with idols? For you are the
temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will
dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their
God, And they shall be My people." Therefore "Come
out from among them And be separate, says the
Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive
you." "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My
sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty."
