This document outlines the Evaluation and Systematic of International Disaster Management (ESID) research project. The project aims to evaluate and develop a systematic framework for understanding disaster management systems internationally. So far, 23 country-level disaster management systems have been evaluated based on aspects like structure of government, economic factors, and legislation. However, the literature on systematically evaluating and comparing full disaster management systems internationally is still limited. Moving forward, the project will further develop evaluation criteria, verify them, adjust them for developing countries, and identify opportunities for multilateral cooperation between systems.
