I just hit your female in some gucci flip flops. This is a quote from a song by Future called
Thought it was a Drought. If I was a shoe I would be a Gucci flip flop . The reason why I chose a
Gucci flip is not only because I enjoy the song, but also because the Gucci flip flop represents
being fresh and wearing designer shoes even when you re doing something so casual. I enjoy
listening to the kind of music that Future produces. The brand Gucci is usually represented by rap
music. Rappers live very expensive and lavish lifestyles and that is something that I would like to
have. Along with listening to trap music, I like to be comfortable while I do it. Flip flops represent
comfort and casualty. Although it is may be very comfortable it

Mental Cases And Disabled Essay
The price the survivors of war pay is through the loss of their own bodies and minds. In Wilfred
Owen s poems Mental Cases, and Disabled, the aftermath the devastating effect war has on the
people who participate in it is shown through the pitying voice of an outside speaker. Mental
Cases, focuses on the psychological trauma, showing soldiers who suffer from PTSD and shell
shock. Disabled, focuses on the physical trauma of the soldiers by describing one soldier who has
lost his legs and is permanently disfigured, rendering him unable to enjoy the rest of his life. The
psychological trauma of war portrayed in Mental Cases, is conveyed through the chilling, almost
hellish, diction used. The language in the poem carries a certain... Show more content on

Was it because someone had said he d look a god in kilts[?] Whatever the soldiers motivations
was, he volunteered as they wrote his lie: aged nineteen years. The soldier was not even of the
proper age to enlist in the army. No competent human being would purposely throw away their
knees or even pour their own blood down shell holes. Yet the final irony of the poem is that when
the soldier volunteered he purposely gave up all these things. The price of admission into the war
was his legs and the rest of his young

Social Disorganization Theory By Clifford Shaw And Henry...
As social Disorganization Theory came about it was created by Clifford Shaw and Henry McKay
who were connected with the University of Chicago. How it started was due to the social
problems that came about with the Chicago School. Shaw and McKay looked at the rates of crime
and delinquency. What they thought was the problem was disorganized communities that were
caused by poverty and lack of strong social strength. As Shaw and McKay still studied Social
Disorganization Theory they still examined that studying ecological concept of dominancy, in order
to figure out why there was a high percentage of crimethat was afflicted with the Chicago
neighborhoods. Though as we know Social Disorganization Theory that people are characterized by
high residential turnover, poverty, and overcrowded communities. Though as we know as these all
tie together these all put a lot of hinder on neighborhoods and makes it hard to develop a quality
neighborhood.
Theory Explanation: As we look at social disorganization theory we knew that they were using
spatial maps to look at the locations of juveniles. As Shaw and McKay, found out that the rates of
crime were not evenly spread out across areas of the city, and around the city. Though the theory
was that crime was around certain city s and remained stable within certain areas despite changes in
the populations where certain people lived in the community. Though as they showed that areas
with high crime rates were high regardless of ethnic group

Good Journalism and Citizenship
The world is a hectic mess today. News is happening all around us, and the only source that acts as
a filter between the chaos and ourselves is the media. The media, journalists especially, must hold
upon themselves a great responsibility when they are acting as this filtering apparatus between the
ordered and unordered. But is that the only thing journalismdoes: make sense of the news? No, it
does much more than that. Good journalism is working, with help from the citizenry, to create an
enlightened Republic filled with citizens who will be well informed of the events which intersect
their lives. There are a number of measures, though, that journalists must take before they can go
from simply making sense of the news to creating an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And this is not only a discussion between citizens and citizens or leaders and leaders but rather
between citizens and leaders; the press simply acts as a medium. Justice Douglas wrote in New
York Times Co. v. United States that [o]pen debate and discussion of public issues are vital to
our national health. On public questions there should be uninhibited, robust, and wide open
debate. Although debate and discussion are vital to the Republic, maybe society should rethink
about how uninhibited, robust, and wide open those debates really are. Society today tends to
think of debates as two opposing ideas battling each other out in order to ascertain which idea
comes out in first, and, as Kovach and Rosenstiel point out, a debate focused only on the
extremes of argument does not serve the public but instead leaves most citizens out (167). The
problem with this is that there are not only one or two given positions on any given issue, but
there are many positions. In the debates that go on today, those positions which are often left out
are often those which are also most agreeable with each other. So instead of letting debates focus
only on the extremes, [t]he public forum must include the broad areas of agreement, where most of
the public resides and where the solutions to society s problems are found (Kovach and Rosenstiel
167). And since it is the news media which

Axolotl Research Paper
An axolotl is a species of amphibian that is found in the higher altitude lakes of Mexico and South
America, but is now more commonly found in a fish tank in a local household anywhere in the
world. Axolotls are Carnivorous, which means that they eat other animals: they mainly feed on
insects, worms, and mollusks like mussels, clams, and cockles. Axolotls can be closely related to
the tiger salamander. The only difference between them though, is that the axolotlkeeps its tadpole
tail for its whole life. The feather like headpiece around the axolotls head is actually gills, which
allows the axolotl to breathe underwater. Axolotls can also regenerate and regrow limbs that have
been damaged or removed. An axolotl s life span is up to 25 years,

Pirates Of The Caribbean At World s End Analysis
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End Evaluation Swashbuckling action and fierce battle scenes
are abundant in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End
is an action adventure film that follows the story of Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and
Elizabeth in their adventures on the Caribbean Sea. It is the third film in the series and concludes
the Davy Jonesand East India Trading Company story arc. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s
End is the best movie in the franchise because it fleshes out existing characters while staying
true to their original characterization, has an interesting and cohesive narrative, and makes
excellent use of special effects. The film believably adds to the motivations and actions of the
characters. For instance, in the first two films Captain Jack Sparrow struggles with whether to
do what is right or to do what he wants. In the first movie, he saves Elizabeth from drowning, but
then threatens her in an escape attempt. In the second film, he is willing to send one hundred
people to Davy Jones to save himself from having to serve aboard Jones ship. In this film, he has
the opportunity to become the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. Jack Sparrow loves the
sea and the freedom it gives him, but he gives up this chance to allow Will Turner to live. He
chooses to do the right thing at the end of this film, showing that he is deep down a good man,
albeit with many vices. Elizabeth also grows in

Apollo about it. Artemis and Apollo were furious and came to Thebes to punish Niobe. The very
next day, all seven sons were shot by Apollo and all seven daughters were shot and killed by

Excessive Uses Of Use Of Force By Police Officers
Use of force by Police Officers over the past few years has become a hot buttoned issue that is
constantly being discussed about. Due to the increase in technology, it seems that every scenario
in which an officer uses force is being filmed by either the general public or the body cameras
worn by officers. The City of Chandler takes pride in training their officers on use of force and it
is explained in great detail in the departments general orders.
To begin it s crucial that officers know they never should use more force than what would be
considered reasonable. An example of this would be if a suspect is struggling with you while you
try to handcuff them. It would be expected that you might use a moderate use of force such as
pressure points or putting them on the ground and controlling the movements of their body.
However, using deadly force would be an example of Excessive force and is a violation of
department policy. The Chandler Police Department stresses in their general orders that all human
life is important and that using excessive force violates this belief.
When it comes to use of force the department has outlined 3 levels. Level one being low level
force. Low level force starts from the moment you arrive at a scene. The officer s presence alone is
considered a use of force and at times can be a very effective one. Along with officer presence,
verbal direction is another aspect of low level force. This is when an officer uses verbal cues to
direct the

Les Miserable Quotes
In the book les miserable written by Victor Hugo it talks about Val jeans life and how one crime
can change a man s life forever. Because Val jean continually seeks freedom and forgiveness for
his past crimes he is never truly happy. The crime of theft has an unrealistic punishment and
leaves a man who feels he is innocent on the run. Val jean was sentenced to five years in prison
for stealing one piece of bread. After he gets out of prison he is never truly free again he is
always looking over his shoulder or reminded of the crime he once committed. The determination
and want that Val jean has to be free again pushes him so far as to take his own life.
Freedom is a big part in the life of Val jean. In the book his life doesn t have much freedom due to
the situation, timing, and luck that Val jean has his Freedom is limited. A soul for a piece of
bread. Misery makes the offer; society accepts. (p.187) This quote from the book shows that after

Val jean seems extremely apologetic and takes advantage of any opportunity to make things right.
In less than two hours, all the good he had done was forgotten. (p. 295) This quote can be
symbolized by the scene in the movie when Val jean has been confronted by Javertand then Val
jean runs. This shows that he has been a leader in disguise. When he was in disguise everyone
loved what he was doing but as a criminal they hated his every action. Javert in the book Les
miserable knew who Val jean was due to their past experiences at the prison. Victor Hugo did this
in order to show how the community looked at criminals. But Val jean should have spoken up
and said how corrupt the justice system was. Not being heard is no reason for silence. (p. 296)

Radical Reconstruction Research Paper
No one with an ounce of sanity would rejoice at being a racist. Over time, it has become ingrained
in American culture to accept and be proud of the many differences among people. However, about
130 years ago, African Americans were subject to harsh segregation policies as a result of racial
discrimination. In a postbellum America, the Union desperately attempted to reform the former
Confederate States, utilizing Reconstruction policies that established a new political and societal
atmosphere. A major component of this era, the Radical Reconstruction, aimed at initiating and
enforcing equality toward African Americans. Nonetheless, the rash treatment of African
Americans persisted and evolved from traditional slavery to discriminative policies... Show more

Black Codes in the South placed numerous restriction on African Americans, which gave them
second class citizenship, even with the Civil Rights Act of 1866 that ensured citizenship for African
American men. Race Riots on the streets were a method for southern whites to publicly protest
against Reconstruction policies and resulted in the mass murder of numerous African Americans in
bloody brawls fueled by the resentment of equality that many demonstrated. The Ku Klux Klan,
comprised of prejudiced whites who wanted to subvert Reconstruction policies and maintain a
stigma of anti equality, performed acts of violence by deliberately targeting and killing African
Americans, forcing them to live in fear of being murdered. While the intention of the
Reconstruction was to reform the white supremacy in the South and introduce equality, the policies
passed did more harm than good by increasing racial prejudice through the growing cloud of anti
African American sentiments looming over Southern society. The people of modern society have

Principles Of Exercise And Sport Science

Testing¬ Name: Renee DeverallStudent Number: 215067741 1.Write a short paragraph that
defines VO2max, explains what it measures and describes some of the most important ways that
it can be used in health and sport. VO2max can be defined as the maximum oxygen uptake. This
entails the maximum rate at which oxygen is readily available in the body to be taken up and
used during aerobic exercise. (Fletcher et al.) It is a very important and commonly used
indicator of a person or athletes level of cardiovascular fitness. A high VO2max demonstrates a
high level of aerobic fitness, where as a low VO2max indicates a low rate of aerobic fitness.
There are two factors that are important in determining a persons VO2max, which are the hearts
ability to deliver oxygen to the muscles and the muscles ability to extract the oxygen from the
blood and use it (Brown, Miller and Eason). This means that when a person has a high VO2max
their body is able to deliver oxygen through the blood efficiently to the muscles in order to
maintain high levels of aerobic exercise over an extended period of time. VO2max is a valued
measurement of cardiovascular fitness in the Sport industry due to its ability to indicate
cardiovascular fitness, as well as the pulmonary and muscular systems efficiency throughout the
duration of the exercise (Brown, Miller and Eason). There are multiple tests that can measure

Colombian Culture
Colombian Culture Part I Colombian culture has both European, African and Native Indian
influences (Embassy of Colombia, 2012). The country s unique history and the cultural influences
from the three groups (Europeans, Africans and Native Indians) makes its culture very rich and
diverse. The establishment of the indigenous cultures in the country can be traced back to the time
when the Spanish arrived, bringing with them the European culture (from Spain); and during the
Colonial times when the African cultures were imported. These are the basis of Colombian culture.
The culture also shares basic features with other cultures of Latin America in incarnations such as

Parents are generally responsible for nurturing their children. They therefore encourage their

On Dumpster Diving Rhetorical Analysis
Lars Eighner represents the thousands of homeless people that have simply fallen victim of
financial struggles, holding strongly onto his respect for others, his community, and himself,
despite the difficulties he faces. According to Eighner s website, he spent time at the University of
Austin, Texas studying creative writing, which is clear through his writing techniques and narrative
style. However after falling on hard times, Eighner ended up homeless. While homeless in the late
80 s Eighner composed the essay On Dumpster Diving. It need not take long for one to find his
purpose in writing the essay. Dumpster diving and homelessnessare deeply connected to a notion of
poor life choices, mental illness, and substance abuse. And while Eighner doesn t deny that many
people he encounters are winos, Eighner s purpose is to represent dumpster diving, in sense, as an

The person responsible for the roofing, the contractor, arrives at the site with the equipment which
he uses to construct the standing seam metal. This is a spool of gauge sheet metal which is formed
and later on cut according to the length that fits the roof it will be installed in. This metalworking
and portable tool is called brake.
Every section within the standing seam metal roof is formed to meet the length the home owner
s or the home builder s preference. This reduces the job site waste. Besides, it is more practical to
be equipped with the panels that will be used instead of throwing away the panels that were cut in
the wrong length. The brake is also used to shape each panel and is designed in order to form the
panels in an interlocking manner.
Care In Installation
When doing this manually, the person must be really careful, especially when it comes to where he
places his fingers. There is a sharp tooth shear hydraulic that cuts every panel in accordance with the
desired length. Hand trimming is required after the panel has been formed and later on cut to the
desired length. After the trimming, the roofer will be ready to install this in the standing seam
metal roof shilling within a matter of minutes.
In order to make a water tight seal, there are roof elements that are installed in the material such as
the roof valley (here the two sections coincide at a specific angle) and the ridge cap

Indian Ocean Trade Research Paper
With the years of development of trades between Silk Roads and the Indian Ocean, both went

Monologue Of Macbeth

The king returned to the table to start our banquet, but looked to have a glint of worry in his eyes.
To begin the evening his highness toasted to to all the lords and the missing Banquo. I must
admit it was strange that he was not present. Macbeth and Banquo were practically joined at the

The Effects Of Afrique Engagee On Africa
The term Afrique EngagГ©e is generally a dynamic of the impacts of other continents and
countries outside of Africa that played a big role in the Atlantic Slave trade and in the long run
caused Africa to have a huge delay in it s development. This concept includes exports of slaves by
sex and age, prices of exports, changes in quantity of slaves, and the products/resources that were
big in trade. Afrique EngagГ©e caused Europe to have so much power and success over Africa
based on Africa s goods and people. Emergent Africa, which includes the issue of Africa was just an
effect of Afrique EngagГ©e.
Population in Africa decreased at astonishing amounts due to the slave trade between
Europe and Africa. The population decrease was not just due to slave trade which some African
kings were said to have agreed to but Europeans would come into Africa and capture citizens
forcefully. Historian Patrick Manning, makes the claim that the coastal exports of young adult
slaves, twice as many men as women, tended to transform the structure of the population and the
organization of society . Manning believes that if Europe didn t take so much of the people of
Africa, Africa could have been sufficient enough to support itself in advances. Walter Rodney,
another historian that sides with Manning notes that Europeans obtained slaves by trading rather
than raiding (Northrup, 89). The used violence, such as, warfare, trickery, banditry, and kidnapping
to force these people out of there homes

Dysphagia Case Studies
2.1 Dysphagia
Dysphagia is the medical term for the symptom of difficulty in eating and swallowing solid and/or
liquid foods (Germain et al., 2006). It occurs when there is a problem with the neural control or the
structures involved in any part of the swallowing process (National Institutes of Health, 2012).
These problems make it hard for dysphagia people to moves food and liquids from mouth toward
the stomach.
It is estimated that dysphagia affects 18 million adults and millions of children in the United
States and 45% 87% of residents in long term care (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research,

The Cuban Missile Crisis Of 1962
The Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 was the closest the world came to nuclear war. The Soviet Union
shipped nuclear missile to Cuba clandestinely and were discovered by the United States. While the
confrontation did not result in open nuclear warfare between the US and USSR, the US Intelligence
Community (IC) was taken by surprise. How did the IC not notice the buildup of Soviet nuclear
weapons in Cuba? The information was there despite the best Russian denial and deception
attempts. The United States intelligence and military analysts allowed themselves to be deceived
by the Russians because they did not anticipate the Russians would station nuclear weapons outside
the Soviet Union. A closer look will show why the Russian deception worked for so long and why
the US was forced to react quickly to a crisis that could have easily spiraled into nuclear war. In
October of 1962, a US U 2 reconnaissance flight over Cuba yielded photographic evidence that the
Soviet Union had installed medium and intermediate range ballistic missiles. President Kennedy
over the next thirteen days frantically tried to get the missiles removed without a war. President
Kennedy went with his Executive Committee working group and set up a naval quarantine of Cuba
and gave Soviet Premier Khrushchev a deadline for removing the missiles. After six days of
diplomatic overtures and increased military tensions, the Soviet Union withdrew the missiles.
President Kennedy agreed to respect the Castro

Amber Rose Research Paper
We are all familiar with the twerking, curvaceous, bald headed Amber Rose. She first caught the
publics eye by having a relationship with the rapper Kanye West back in 2008 and since then her
fame has risen. Amber Rose has gone from being a stripper, to featuring in music videos, to
walking down the runway, to marrying Wiz Khalifa, to writing a book and now, to being a feminist
and having her own organisation and holding The Amber Rose SlutWalk event in LA.
Im sure most people have seen the raunchy pictures she posts of her self on twitter and instagram
and with no previous knowledge about her being a feminist I question her intensions behind it. Is
it genuine ? Or is it just another publicity stunt to help further her career. I will be looking at
fellow spectators gaze on this issue and will analyse the points that work in her favour and those
that go against it.
A Slut walk is a relatively new transitional movement that came about in 2011 after a Police
officer named Michael Sanguinetti made a remark whilst giving a talk in a school on health and
safety that women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised. This enraged
thousands of women and they took action by arranging a march in the streets of Toronto to protest
against the idea that the victim of rape is to blame because of how she is dressed. They were also
fighting against slut shaming, and sexual profiling. In this march women were dressed purposely in
revealing outfits, some even topless,

This current paper will examine the history, social factors, and economic impact of the prohibition
of alcohol in the United States. Ken Burns and Lynn Novick (2011) delve into the topic of alcohol
in America in their documentary Prohibition, and this paper will discuss the events before, during,
and after the prohibitionof alcohol in the United States. This paper will also relate the prohibition
of alcohol to the current drug policies of cocainein the United States. Alcohol and cocaine were
both prohibited in the United States in the early 1900 s. Cocaine was used as an anesthesia and
medication in the early days of America until the drug was abused, and the legislature of the day

Francis E. Willard would soon become the leader of the Women s Christian Temperance Union

Nuclear Case Study
BLUF: The nuclear proliferation of the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK) presents a
serious threat to the stability of the East Asian region. Heavily reliant upon the People s Republic of
China (PRC) for economic and diplomatic support, the United States (U.S.) must construct a
strategic agreement with the PRC to pressure the DPRK into non nuclear proliferationto assure
stability within East Asia.
The DPRK s increase in the display of military force, including 30 ballistic missile tests within the
last 16 months, reflect a growing sense of danger to East Asia. While the DPRK is economically
and diplomatically dependent upon the PRC, Kim Jong un s military ambitions have further
strained the Sino North Korean alliance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The DPRK s diplomatic and economic relationships with the PRC is essential to the sovereignty
and stability of the state. Despite the international opprobrium regarding the DPRK s nuclear
program, the PRC continues to use various diplomatic tactics, including military power, territorial
size and contiguity, and veto power in the United Nations (U.N.) Security Council to preserve the
interests of the DPRK from foreign threats. Most recently, was the enactment of the UN Resolution
1718 where the PRC abolished the proposed economic sanctions against the DPRK. Similarly, the
economic viability of the DPRK is largely dependent upon the food and energy imports from
China, which accounts for nearly 90 percent of the DPRK s total trade volume. Current economic
trends display that the bilateral trade between the PRC and DPRK has increased 37.4 percent
within the first quarter of 2017 and is expected to increase throughout the remainder of the present
year.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECCOMENDATIONS
A nuclear DPRK presents the U.S. with an urgent and dangerous challenge. The unique Sino North
Korean relationship is one built upon convenience rather than conviction. The Kim regime s main
priority is to continue nuclear proliferation with the intent to deter U.S. aggression and reunite the
Korean Peninsula under WPK rule. Conversely, China s

William Golding s Lord of the Flies
The first chapter of the novel, The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding is effective in
establishing the characters, concerns and language for the remainder of the book, as well as
introducing the main themes of the novel; that the problems in society are related to the sinful
nature of man and good verses evil. In Golding s first chapter, the main characters are introduced,
we see many ominous signs of what s to come through the authors choice of language and the
beginning of rivalries, issues and concerns are portrayed which are to continue throughout the rest
of the book. The microcosm on the Island is presented from an early stage, as well as themes that

These qualities Golding describes Ralph to have in this first chapter, and incredibly important for
the remainder of the novel.
It is no surprise that Piggy s nickname is such. When Golding introduces the character, he has just
come out of the bushes, after suffering from diarrhoea through eating too many unripe berries.
The author continually relates to the fact that the boy is fat, and in many descriptions, Golding
blatantly says this such as The fat boy looked startled . As we progress through the early pages,
we learn more of Piggy s appearance through the conversation between Piggy and Ralph. I ve
been wearing specs since I was three . With these continual descriptions, we are able to obtain a
vivid and detailed image of this fat boy. The specs that Piggy wears are a symbol of his
intelligence that is to be superior to the other boys. Individuals that wear glasses have always
been considered to be intelligent and smart, and Piggy is no exception to this. His constant
attempts to unite the group of boys under the laws of the conch are to try to establish the same
society of that in the old counties and of what they are used to. Piggy is not a natural leader he
has the brains, but not the courage. We can see this when Golding describes the boys reaction to
the loud and bossy Jack: He shrank to the other side of Ralph...and secure from the other side of
Ralph, he spoke timidly . Many

understand what you mean, American football. That s two team of eleven big players wearing
protective pads and running holding an egg shaped ball, while if you do the same in Paris or
London the locals will assume you are referring to soccer. Two teams of eleven players kicking and
passing a perfectly round black and white ball. Though, the name footballis used in both sides of
the Atlantic Ocean, it s totally two deferent sports, both in term of playing and rules. America
football is a sport played by two team of eleven players on a rectangular field divided into 10
yards to a total of 100yards, the width is a bit wider than fifty three yards and with goalposts
shape like letter H on each end of the field. The team with control of the ball, called the offense
team, attempts to advance the ball downfield, by running or passing the ball or by throwing
down the field. While the opposing team aims to stop their advance and take control of the ball
themselves. The object of the game is to simply outscore your opponent. This is accomplished by
advancing the football up field and scoring as many touchdowns, or field goals, (kicking the egg
shaped ball through the upper goal post), as possible. While the other team will be holding back
the advance they make, hence, becoming the defense side and preventing the other team to as few
touchdowns as possible.

Essay about Product Life Cycle Analysis For The Apple Ipod
The alarm clock rings and its time to go for a jog and get the morning routine off to a good start.

these are household names none has been able to dethrone the iPod from being the icon for
digital jukeboxes. The first casualty that fell to the iPod was the iRiver Rio that could not
compete with the loyalty people have for Apple. Part of the iPod secret is the iTunes software.
This is a platform where you can download music into your iPod and organize the files. It offers a
library of over three million songs from very diverse genres of music. Others have tried to
mimic this concept but have not been able to create the following that iPod has. An example of
these failed ventures is the Sone Connect store which is attempting to offer Sony s MiniDisc
player as an alternative to Apple s iPod. Even Wal Mart, Amazon.com and Tower Records are
also seeking a piece of the action by selling individual songs for a cheaper price than iTunes by
adding these retailers the market is growing and becoming more and more competitive. It can be a
safe assumption that Apple s iTunes internet downloadable music will partly replace the traditional
channels through which music had been distributed in the past. It is evident that since its
emergence into the market this little monster has gobbled up the market share of digital music
gadgets. Apple has been able to directly penetrate the market and enable a quick adoption for the
iPod.

the sugar that we inquire on our kitchen tables and use to sweeten bland foods such as cereal and

INTRODUCTION TO EQUITY VALUATION Equity shares can be described more easily than
fixed income securities. However, they are more difficult to analyse. Fixed income securities
typically have a limited life and a well defined cash flow stream. Equity shares have neither.
While the basic principles of valuation are the same for fixed income securities as well as equity
shares, the factors of growth and risk create greater complexity in the case of equity shares . As our
discussion of market efficiency suggested, identifying mispriced securities is not easy. Yet there are
enough chinks in the efficient market hypothesis and hence the search for mispriced securities

You are connected to your family by more than just blood. The way you think and act is largely
based on the unnoticed bias your parents give during childhood. Austrian psychiatrist Alfred

Though, birth order illuminates a majority of our personality traits and decisions such as, career
and romantic relationships. Parents get wrapped up in the firstborn haze and overlook how much
pressure they put on older siblings. By creating a pressure to be the best and in control the older
sibling takes on the leadership role and often becomes more aligned with doing better in school
than younger siblings. Determination and intelligence correspond with higher level of career, and
that is just what the older sibling strives for. In fact, 100% of astronauts who ve gone into space
were either eldest children or eldest sons (State). Relationships work better if partners differ from
each other and aren t in the same birth order. The competition can be detrimental and problematic.
Alfred Adler s birth order theory provides us with useful information to reflect our decisions and
explain how you think about things. By becoming aware of it we can become more familiar with

Comment and Response to Texting and Writing by Michaela Cullington After reading Texting and

that texting does not affect a students writing. Textspeak, the abbreviation and shortening of words
like used when writinga text message, does affect the way a student writes because they use the
abbreviations, and their writings tend to lack punctuation. When a writer uses excessive
abbreviations on a regular basis they can get stuck in the writer s head causing them to use them in
all of their writings. Cullington did make good points of her own opinion on texting and writing in

difficult. A common acronym is LOL which is an abbreviationfor laugh out loud. The abbreviated

more attention when writing, and to use correct spelling and not use acronyms to shorten their

Jamey Rodemeyer s Story Analysis

Schools have long tried to combat the problem of bullying. When the attacks happen online,
however, they present a different set of challenges. Unlike a verbal assault in the schoolyard,
cyberbullying goes on with no one around to see who s sending the taunting texts and malicious

Never mind that attaching the word slave to the character Jim effectively labels him as property.
Worse, it relieves teachers of the fundamental responsibility of putting such books in context and

Simply discussing a topic is not condoning it. That word is part of this country s past. These things

The s Theory Of Personal Identity And Diversity

Homicidal Somnambulism
Imagine that one night you end up sleepwalking and end up killing someone. Sounds crazy doesn t
it? Things like this have actually happened. There are now 68 known cases of homicidal
somnambulism. (BBC) . Homicidal somnambulism is the act of murdering someone while in the
state of sleepwalking. The legal argument for this has been that the defendant was not in their
normal state of mind while this has happened and therefore cannot be blamed for such a crime.
Locke is known to believe in his theory of personal identity and diversity. Locke s theory talks
about consciousness and how our consciousness makes our identity through our experiences.
Locke states that we are only considered guilty of committing a crime if we were aware of it and
remember doing it. Although I agree with Locke in some terms regarding our identity having
something to do with our consciousness, I do not fully agree. I believe that personal identity is
what we see ourselves as whether that be physical features, morals, or anything that crosses those
lines.
One of the problems that comes to mind with this to me is how could we prove that someone was
actually sleepwalking and that they are unaware of their actions. Can we trust them and take their
word for it or is there a scientific way in which we can prove it.
Locke distinguishes between man and person. Locke s theory talks about consciousness and how
our consciousness makes our

The Allentown museum stated the following about the Vitruvian Man; Man is the measure of all

Likewise Tom Ashbrook, an award winning journalist, wrote this about the Vitruvian Man, symbol

humanism since it shows how man can be free of god, can be in the universe with only himself and

husband from work. He wasn t going to california with us so he could take the car. We pick him
up, he chucks his lunch box to the middle, and he takes the wheel. We start driving, again. I ve
never really liked my mom s husband, he s always hated me and one of my sisters because we
aren t his. I really don t like anyone I live with. My mom loses things like our birth certificate, her
driver s license, even her bills. I m so over it. My sisters, my sisters are little spoiled crybabies.
When i was there age, I was hit so many times that the buckle of a belt feels like a pinch. I cried
when I got kicked on the side. They cry if someone raises their voice at them the slightest bit. I m
the smartest person in the house, so I m constantly angry because everyone comes to me when
they need help. I help with things like homework, I translate for my mom and her husband, I
never had help. I ve always been on my own, if I need help with something like homework, well
that s too bad because if I don t know something they definitely won t. This road trip is hell, my
sisters don t shut up, my mom is reading the bible out loud, my mom s husband has mexican music
on blast, and I m just quietly suffering.

RGA And Adelburger Case Study
Thankfully, most of the RGA and Adelburger holdings within the Greater American Catholic
School System and the countless numbers of Dweller cities in the Coalition were still under their
immediate sphere of influence. Although the number of Catholic schools, Catholic high schools
and Dweller cities lost to their rivals continued growing steadily, the number remained minimal. In
addition, a couple of RGA and Adelburger crews and groups trained to operate behind the front
acted as stay behind cells, disrupting the other factions communications, chain of logistics,
sabotaging captured assets, subverting and demoralizing them. This included some of the more
elite of RGA groups, such as the Nightingales and Plaid Circle. For schools possessing a large
population of Volksryanischen and Ryanites, especially in Catholic schools, high schools and
colleges, these stay behind cells formed the backbone of several partisan resistance groups bearing
the Volksbesatzung designation, training and advising them in resisting the hostile influences of
the other factions. This strategy was so successful, that the other... Show more content on

Joining them was a group of sympathetic Volksryanischen, which they had been advising and
aiding for some unknown time now. By raiding a known stopover site of supplies being cached on
behalf of the Underground, this would potentially buy the other Adelburgers and RGA members in
Pennsylvania more time to complete their own respective tasks. Incidentally, it was through this
act, which allowed the French Canadian Adelburgers to worry less about having to contend with
greater numbers of Underground

In Lies We Trust Analysis
In Lies We Trust
The 2009 romantic fantasy movie The Invention of Lying portrays a world completely devoid of
untruths, where everyone tells the truth all the time and everything said is taken at face value.
Mark Bellison, the protagonist, begins by explaining that in his world, everyone tells the entire truth
, not matter how hurtful or cruel. The audience notices a Pepsi ad with the tagline, Pepsi: when they
don t have coke, among other peculiar things. This premise is not only humorous because it is so
contrary to reality, but also unsettling, because it brings to light how frequently humans lie and are
dependent on lying, as well as how the world cannot exist without it. Indeed, although lying is often
negatively perceived, the ubiquity of it is observed all around the world, particularly in
commonplace and social exchanges. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, in the Bible, Adam and Eve committed the Original Sin due to the serpent s lie. The
infamous witch trials, moreover, exploded on the basis of eradicating diabolical lies. In 1963, the
United States Supreme Court ruled that confessions induced by truth serums (Barbiturates
including scopolamine, sodium amytal and sodium pentothal) were a of torture and
unconstitutional ( A Brief History of Lying ). Comparably, in his article pertaining the topic of lying
in the west, author Adam Pasion further explicates

Marketing Communication Ethics
ETHICS IN MARKETING COMMUNICATION
As well as the entire business world, marketing has its own ethics problems.
Numerous marketing specialists or their representatives have consciously declared and adopted
different engagements, declarations or codes of rules regarding the necessity that marketing people
consider ethics regulations and values, so that they become much more responsible towards the
members of society. These declarations or rules concern marketing practices in their ensemble or
are guided towards certain specific fields. Among these fields, a special place is occupied by
marketing communication, which has to be guided by ethical regulations and moral values.
Key words: ethics, regulation, marketing, communication, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although not all companies can assume social responsibilities, there are numerous fields in which
organisations are approaching the way in which they understand and get involved in this kind of
activities (for example, Kraft Foods company, with the program Together for children , having as
an objective improving treatment and hospitalising conditions for children in Romania, Procter
Gamble company with the program Live, Learn and Develop yourself , having as goal helping
children in need for support, JTI Romania, Vodafone etc., companies that either initiate or support
different activities and programs of social responsibility). Of course that the decision for
organisations to get involved in different activities of social responsibility belongs firstly to the
managers of these organisations, respectively to those that choose the way and modality of action,
starting with their own conscious, because, in fact, ...the only guiding direction for a straight,
correct conduct is the irrefutably strong common sense or moral common sense feeling and our
power to action on its basis as an initiative (Ionescu, 2006).
As the entire business world, marketing reveals its own ethics problems.
In conditions of high business velocity, in the context of a continuously

Comparing Little Red Riding Hood Folktales Essay
Comparing Little Red Riding Hood folktales is a multi tasks operation, which includes many
elaborations on the many aspects of the story. Setting, plot, character origin, and motif are the few
I chose to elaborate solely on. Although the versions vary, they all have the motif trickery, the
characters all include some sort of villain with a heroin, the plot concludes all in the final
destruction or cease of the villain to be, and, the setting and origins of the versions vary the most to
where they are not comparable but only contrastable, if one can say that origins and settings are
contrastable.
Little Red Riding Hood retold by the Brothers Grimm version by Paul Galdone includes a
quot;sweet little maiden quot; (Galdone 1) who never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The motif of the story is the wolf s trickery. The origins and culture are the simply the basics.
Lon Po Po version by Ed Young characters includes a mother, three daughters, a wolf and, only
introductions of Grandmother. This version differs greatly by the fact that Grandmother is not
sick like the original, it s Grandmother s birthday and quot;the good mother set off to see her,
leaving the three children at home quot; (Young 2). Unlike the original, too, this is taking place
on a dark night. The wolf uses trickery but the eldest girl is very clever which then the wolf
eventually gets mislead. They mislead the wolf, quot;climbed up the tall tree quot; (Young 16) in
retreats of the gingko nuts. The girls eventually kill the wolf by dropping him in the basket they
were pulling up by rope, which was intentional. The origins and culture are significantly Chinese.
The motif is the trickery yet again only in a different manner.
Petite Rouge Riding Hood version by Mike Artell includes characters that are animals. What would
be humans in the original Little Red Riding Hood, are ducks in this version, with a mother,
daughter, grandmother, and the villain, instead of the evil wolf, is now a gator. The girl, Petite
Rouge Riding Hood, has a companion cat. This version takes places near and on the swamp. The
condiments needed to take to the grandmother to help with her flu are gumbo and boudin. The
grandmother is not eaten in this version; the

President Obama Delivered A Speech
On June 21st, 2010, Father s Day, President Barack Obama delivered a speech in Washington
D.C. addressing a crowd of his cabinet members, veterans, senators, and normal fathers. He aimed
to give a speech about promoting responsible fatherhood, but his speech went beyond that. He
addressed the crowd with a calm demeanor and a strong voice, and gave a speech on the
importance of being a present father and the many lasting negative effects that having an absent
father can have on a child. His heavy use of pathos, the appeal to emotion, gave the speech depth,
and a reason for the crowd to want to listen.
The main point of President Obama s Speech was that there are few things that a child benefits
more from than having both their parents, and especially their fathers present in their lives growing
up. There were five main points about his speech. One of the first points he mentions was the
Father Mentoring initiative. It is a government program that was created to help raise awareness
about responsible fatherhood. The program works to re engage absent fathers or fathers that are
not sure how to reintegrate themselves into their children s lives after they ve been absent for a
long period of time. President Obama explains that it is a scary choice to make but it is better for
the children in the long run.
The next main point of his speech is also a government initiative. The Fathering Re Entry Court is
a program designed to create job initiatives for ex offenders. It helps

Unbroken Chapter Summaries
Controversies of prisoners of war
The book Unbroken was a seemingly impossible tale of triumph and survival of an Olympic
runner and WWII veteran named Louis Zamperini. He constantly had to overcome adversity in
his early years, for he was an immigrant from Italy and a trouble maker before his brother Pete
steered him into running track. This immediately turned him around as he did well enough to in
running to break all sorts if local records, which were accomplished while his competitors were
trying to sabotage his runs. This qualified him for the 1936 Olympic in Berlin, where he met Hitler.
He still had running aspirations but felt he had no choice other than fighting in the world due to the
fact that the 1940 Olympics were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone who experienced being a Prisoner of War were followed by physical, psychological and
spiritual affects, and also affects that made them feel less than a person. Louie s journey was no
different. The physical affects were terrible, Louie had little food and water so he lost an
extreme amount of weight. This was compounded with beating with first and kicks. The prison
guards didn t care, they made the POW s work long, free labor hours. There were no medicines to
treat any sick or injured so, if you were hurt you would most likely end up dead. All this horrible
treatment truly affected Louie psychological as well. During the imprisonment he managed to stay
strong mentally by not going crazy enough to kill himself and also by staying sane enough to be
strategically incompliant in the interrogation rooms to let the interrogators feel satisfied while not
relinquishing U.S. security. This psychological strength didn t last long after Louie got out of the
prison camps though, for he had constant reminding of The Bird and the evils that happened to
him by daydreams and nightmares. This is commonly known as post traumatic stress disorder.
After he found out bird was still alive, Louie tried to forget and put the past behind him but the
feeling of anxiety was just too great. Louie called for a meeting with the Bird to no avail. Although
there were almost overwhelming negative effects, there were very

Americans love luxury vehicles, during the pass 10 years SUVs` became the major family
vehicle, families are starting to feel the financial strain at the pump when they have to put gas in
their vehicle. Some people can not afford to fill up their SUVs because it cause $50 to $100.00 to
fill their gas tank. These same vehicles use to case lest than $35.00 at a lower gas price. Rising gas
price affect every one, not just drivers, some gas station in the south and mid west is completely
out of gas due to the rising gas price. The gas station owners can not compete with the larger oil
company who control the flow of oil. We are already seeing a ripple effect from the high gas
prices. Go shopping lately? We seem to be in a perpetual daze when it comes to the economy. Oh,
nothing bad will happen; Things will be okay . It seems easy to forget of the not so distant times
during the Great Depression.
Rising gas prices affect everything across the board. This is because commodities need to be
transported across the country on trucks. Trucks, as you know, require lots of gas.
Section 4: U.S. Economy The rising cost of retail gasoline prices has affected U.S. households
regardless of whether their members drive, take public transportation, or walk. In a modern

If I was a shoe I would be a Gucci flip flop . The reason why I chose a Gucci flip is not only because I enjoy the song, but also because the Gucci flip flop represents being fresh and wearing designer shoes even when you re doing something so casual. I enjoy listening to the kind of music that Future produces. The brand Gucci is usually represented by rap music. Rappers live very expensive and lavish lifestyles and that is something that I would like to have. Along with listening to trap music, I like to be comfortable while I do it. • 3. Mental Cases And Disabled Essay The price the survivors of war pay is through the loss of their own bodies and minds. In Wilfred Owen s poems Mental Cases, and Disabled, the aftermath the devastating effect war has on the people who participate in it is shown through the pitying voice of an outside speaker. Mental Cases, focuses on the psychological trauma, showing soldiers who suffer from PTSD and shell shock. Disabled, focuses on the physical trauma of the soldiers by describing one soldier who has lost his legs and is permanently disfigured, rendering him unable to enjoy the rest of his life. The psychological trauma of war portrayed in Mental Cases, is conveyed through the chilling, almost hellish, diction used. The language in the poem carries a certain... • 4. Social Disorganization Theory By Clifford Shaw And Henry... As social Disorganization Theory came about it was created by Clifford Shaw and Henry McKay who were connected with the University of Chicago. How it started was due to the social problems that came about with the Chicago School. Shaw and McKay looked at the rates of crime and delinquency. What they thought was the problem was disorganized communities that were caused by poverty and lack of strong social strength. As Shaw and McKay still studied Social Disorganization Theory they still examined that studying ecological concept of dominancy, in order to figure out why there was a high percentage of crimethat was afflicted with the Chicago neighborhoods. Though as we know Social Disorganization Theory that people are characterized by high residential turnover, poverty, and overcrowded communities. Though as we know as these all tie together these all put a lot of hinder on neighborhoods and makes it hard to develop a quality neighborhood. Theory Explanation: As we look at social disorganization theory we knew that they were using spatial maps to look at the locations of juveniles. As Shaw and McKay, found out that the rates of crime were not evenly spread out across areas of the city, and around the city. Though the theory was that crime was around certain city s and remained stable within certain areas despite changes in the populations where certain people lived in the community. • 5. Good Journalism and Citizenship The world is a hectic mess today. News is happening all around us, and the only source that acts as a filter between the chaos and ourselves is the media. The media, journalists especially, must hold upon themselves a great responsibility when they are acting as this filtering apparatus between the ordered and unordered. But is that the only thing journalismdoes: make sense of the news? No, it does much more than that. Good journalism is working, with help from the citizenry, to create an enlightened Republic filled with citizens who will be well informed of the events which intersect their lives. There are a number of measures, though, that journalists must take before they can go from simply making sense of the news to creating an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And this is not only a discussion between citizens and citizens or leaders and leaders but rather between citizens and leaders; the press simply acts as a medium. Justice Douglas wrote in New York Times Co. v. United States that [o]pen debate and discussion of public issues are vital to our national health. On public questions there should be uninhibited, robust, and wide open debate. Although debate and discussion are vital to the Republic, maybe society should rethink about how uninhibited, robust, and wide open those debates really are. Society today tends to think of debates as two opposing ideas battling each other out in order to ascertain which idea comes out in first, and, as Kovach and Rosenstiel point out, a debate focused only on the extremes of argument does not serve the public but instead leaves most citizens out (167). The problem with this is that there are not only one or two given positions on any given issue, but there are many positions. In the debates that go on today, those positions which are often left out are often those which are also most agreeable with each other. So instead of letting debates focus only on the extremes, [t]he public forum must include the broad areas of agreement, where most of the public resides and where the solutions to society s problems are found (Kovach and Rosenstiel 167). And since it is the news media which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Axolotls are Carnivorous, which means that they eat other animals: they mainly feed on insects, worms, and mollusks like mussels, clams, and cockles. Axolotls can be closely related to the tiger salamander. The only difference between them though, is that the axolotlkeeps its tadpole tail for its whole life. Pirates Of The Caribbean At World s End Analysis Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End Evaluation Swashbuckling action and fierce battle scenes are abundant in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is an action adventure film that follows the story of Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and Elizabeth in their adventures on the Caribbean Sea. It is the third film in the series and concludes the Davy Jonesand East India Trading Company story arc. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is the best movie in the franchise because it fleshes out existing characters while staying true to their original characterization, has an interesting and cohesive narrative, and makes excellent use of special effects. The film believably adds to the motivations and actions of the characters. For instance, in the first two films Captain Jack Sparrow struggles with whether to do what is right or to do what he wants. In the first movie, he saves Elizabeth from drowning, but then threatens her in an escape attempt. In the second film, he is willing to send one hundred people to Davy Jones to save himself from having to serve aboard Jones ship. In this film, he has the opportunity to become the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. Jack Sparrow loves the sea and the freedom it gives him, but he gives up this chance to allow Will Turner to live. He chooses to do the right thing at the end of this film, showing that he is deep down a good man, albeit with many vices. Elizabeth also grows in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Excessive Uses Of Use Of Force By Police Officers Use of force by Police Officers over the past few years has become a hot buttoned issue that is constantly being discussed about. Due to the increase in technology, it seems that every scenario in which an officer uses force is being filmed by either the general public or the body cameras worn by officers. The City of Chandler takes pride in training their officers on use of force and it is explained in great detail in the departments general orders. To begin it s crucial that officers know they never should use more force than what would be considered reasonable. An example of this would be if a suspect is struggling with you while you try to handcuff them. It would be expected that you might use a moderate use of force such as pressure points or putting them on the ground and controlling the movements of their body. However, using deadly force would be an example of Excessive force and is a violation of department policy. The Chandler Police Department stresses in their general orders that all human life is important and that using excessive force violates this belief. When it comes to use of force the department has outlined 3 levels. Level one being low level force. Low level force starts from the moment you arrive at a scene. The officer s presence alone is considered a use of force and at times can be a very effective one. Along with officer presence, verbal direction is another aspect of low level force. VO2max can be defined as the maximum oxygen uptake. This entails the maximum rate at which oxygen is readily available in the body to be taken up and used during aerobic exercise. (Fletcher et al.) It is a very important and commonly used indicator of a person or athletes level of cardiovascular fitness. A high VO2max demonstrates a high level of aerobic fitness, where as a low VO2max indicates a low rate of aerobic fitness. There are two factors that are important in determining a persons VO2max, which are the hearts ability to deliver oxygen to the muscles and the muscles ability to extract the oxygen from the blood and use it (Brown, Miller and Eason). This means that when a person has a high VO2max their body is able to deliver oxygen through the blood efficiently to the muscles in order to maintain high levels of aerobic exercise over an extended period of time. VO2max is a valued measurement of cardiovascular fitness in the Sport industry due to its ability to indicate cardiovascular fitness, as well as the pulmonary and muscular systems efficiency throughout the duration of the exercise (Brown, Miller and Eason). The population decrease was not just due to slave trade which some African kings were said to have agreed to but Europeans would come into Africa and capture citizens forcefully. Historian Patrick Manning, makes the claim that the coastal exports of young adult slaves, twice as many men as women, tended to transform the structure of the population and the organization of society . Manning believes that if Europe didn t take so much of the people of Africa, Africa could have been sufficient enough to support itself in advances. Walter Rodney, another historian that sides with Manning notes that Europeans obtained slaves by trading rather than raiding (Northrup, 89). The Soviet Union shipped nuclear missile to Cuba clandestinely and were discovered by the United States. While the confrontation did not result in open nuclear warfare between the US and USSR, the US Intelligence Community (IC) was taken by surprise. How did the IC not notice the buildup of Soviet nuclear weapons in Cuba? The information was there despite the best Russian denial and deception attempts. The United States intelligence and military analysts allowed themselves to be deceived by the Russians because they did not anticipate the Russians would station nuclear weapons outside the Soviet Union. A closer look will show why the Russian deception worked for so long and why the US was forced to react quickly to a crisis that could have easily spiraled into nuclear war. In October of 1962, a US U 2 reconnaissance flight over Cuba yielded photographic evidence that the Soviet Union had installed medium and intermediate range ballistic missiles. President Kennedy over the next thirteen days frantically tried to get the missiles removed without a war. President Kennedy went with his Executive Committee working group and set up a naval quarantine of Cuba and gave Soviet Premier Khrushchev a deadline for removing the missiles. A Slut walk is a relatively new transitional movement that came about in 2011 after a Police officer named Michael Sanguinetti made a remark whilst giving a talk in a school on health and safety that women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimised. This enraged thousands of women and they took action by arranging a march in the streets of Toronto to protest against the idea that the victim of rape is to blame because of how she is dressed. Sounds crazy doesn t it? Things like this have actually happened. There are now 68 known cases of homicidal somnambulism. (BBC) . Homicidal somnambulism is the act of murdering someone while in the state of sleepwalking. The legal argument for this has been that the defendant was not in their normal state of mind while this has happened and therefore cannot be blamed for such a crime. Locke is known to believe in his theory of personal identity and diversity. Locke s theory talks about consciousness and how our consciousness makes our identity through our experiences. Locke states that we are only considered guilty of committing a crime if we were aware of it and remember doing it. • 42. My Family Road Trip Family Road Trip It was a hot summer day. You could see the heat rise up from the road. The sun scorched the the sidewalk so intensely I could have fried an egg on it. We had just gotten done loading our luggage in the van. I grabbed my phone and headed for the door. We were ready to go to the airport. We had been planning on our trip to California for days. Everyone would not shut up about seeing our relatives. I just couldn t wait to leave this dreadful, miserable, boring place called Sedalia. We went to get some gas because it was like a 3 hour drive. When we stopped my mom was the only one who got out because she didn t want to deal with annoying brats, my sisters. So I was stuck with them, alone, by myself, in a car. It sounded like there was a zoo behind me and the monkeys just got loose. Other people were looking at our car and in their face there was horror. My mom finally gets back and we start to drive. Sense we re going out of state on an airplane, we couldn t take our car with us. So we went to go pick up my mom s husband from work. He wasn t going to california with us so he could take the car. We pick him up, he chucks his lunch box to the middle, and he takes the wheel. We start driving, again. I ve never really liked my mom s husband, he s always hated me and one of my sisters because we aren t his. I really don t like anyone I live with. My mom loses things like our birth certificate, her driver s license, even her bills. I m so over it. My sisters, my sisters are little spoiled crybabies. When i was there age, I was hit so many times that the buckle of a belt feels like a pinch. I cried when I got kicked on the side. They cry if someone raises their voice at them the slightest bit. I m the smartest person in the house, so I m constantly angry because everyone comes to me when they need help. I help with things like homework, I translate for my mom and her husband, I never had help. I ve always been on my own, if I need help with something like homework, well that s too bad because if I don t know something they definitely won t. This road trip is hell, my sisters don t shut up, my mom is reading the bible out loud, my mom s husband has mexican music on blast, and I m just quietly suffering. ... • 43. RGA And Adelburger Case Study Thankfully, most of the RGA and Adelburger holdings within the Greater American Catholic School System and the countless numbers of Dweller cities in the Coalition were still under their immediate sphere of influence. Although the number of Catholic schools, Catholic high schools and Dweller cities lost to their rivals continued growing steadily, the number remained minimal. In addition, a couple of RGA and Adelburger crews and groups trained to operate behind the front acted as stay behind cells, disrupting the other factions communications, chain of logistics, sabotaging captured assets, subverting and demoralizing them. This included some of the more elite of RGA groups, such as the Nightingales and Plaid Circle. For schools possessing a large population of Volksryanischen and Ryanites, especially in Catholic schools, high schools and colleges, these stay behind cells formed the backbone of several partisan resistance groups bearing the Volksbesatzung designation, training and advising them in resisting the hostile influences of the other factions. • 44. In Lies We Trust Analysis In Lies We Trust The 2009 romantic fantasy movie The Invention of Lying portrays a world completely devoid of untruths, where everyone tells the truth all the time and everything said is taken at face value. Mark Bellison, the protagonist, begins by explaining that in his world, everyone tells the entire truth , not matter how hurtful or cruel. The audience notices a Pepsi ad with the tagline, Pepsi: when they don t have coke, among other peculiar things. This premise is not only humorous because it is so contrary to reality, but also unsettling, because it brings to light how frequently humans lie and are dependent on lying, as well as how the world cannot exist without it. Indeed, although lying is often negatively perceived, the ubiquity of it is observed all around the world, particularly in commonplace and social exchanges. ... Setting, plot, character origin, and motif are the few I chose to elaborate solely on. Although the versions vary, they all have the motif trickery, the characters all include some sort of villain with a heroin, the plot concludes all in the final destruction or cease of the villain to be, and, the setting and origins of the versions vary the most to where they are not comparable but only contrastable, if one can say that origins and settings are contrastable. The motif of the story is the wolf s trickery. The origins and culture are the simply the basics. Lon Po Po version by Ed Young characters includes a mother, three daughters, a wolf and, only introductions of Grandmother. This version differs greatly by the fact that Grandmother is not sick like the original, it s Grandmother s birthday and quot;the good mother set off to see her, leaving the three children at home quot; (Young 2). Unlike the original, too, this is taking place on a dark night. The wolf uses trickery but the eldest girl is very clever which then the wolf eventually gets mislead. They mislead the wolf, quot;climbed up the tall tree quot; (Young 16) in retreats of the gingko nuts. The girls eventually kill the wolf by dropping him in the basket they were pulling up by rope, which was intentional. The origins and culture are significantly Chinese. The motif is the trickery yet again only in a different manner. Petite Rouge Riding Hood version by Mike Artell includes characters that are animals. What would be humans in the original Little Red Riding Hood, are ducks in this version, with a mother, daughter, grandmother, and the villain, instead of the evil wolf, is now a gator. The girl, Petite Rouge Riding Hood, has a companion cat. This version takes places near and on the swamp. The condiments needed to take to the grandmother to help with her flu are gumbo and boudin. • 47. President Obama Delivered A Speech On June 21st, 2010, Father s Day, President Barack Obama delivered a speech in Washington D.C. addressing a crowd of his cabinet members, veterans, senators, and normal fathers. He aimed to give a speech about promoting responsible fatherhood, but his speech went beyond that. He addressed the crowd with a calm demeanor and a strong voice, and gave a speech on the importance of being a present father and the many lasting negative effects that having an absent father can have on a child. His heavy use of pathos, the appeal to emotion, gave the speech depth, and a reason for the crowd to want to listen. The main point of President Obama s Speech was that there are few things that a child benefits more from than having both their parents, and especially their fathers present in their lives growing up. There were five main points about his speech. One of the first points he mentions was the Father Mentoring initiative. It is a government program that was created to help raise awareness about responsible fatherhood. The program works to re engage absent fathers or fathers that are not sure how to reintegrate themselves into their children s lives after they ve been absent for a long period of time. President Obama explains that it is a scary choice to make but it is better for the children in the long run. The next main point of his speech is also a government initiative. Unbroken Chapter Summaries Controversies of prisoners of war The book Unbroken was a seemingly impossible tale of triumph and survival of an Olympic runner and WWII veteran named Louis Zamperini. This immediately turned him around as he did well enough to in running to break all sorts if local records, which were accomplished while his competitors were trying to sabotage his runs. Everyone who experienced being a Prisoner of War were followed by physical, psychological and spiritual affects, and also affects that made them feel less than a person. Louie s journey was no different. The physical affects were terrible, Louie had little food and water so he lost an extreme amount of weight. This was compounded with beating with first and kicks. The prison guards didn t care, they made the POW s work long, free labor hours. There were no medicines to treat any sick or injured so, if you were hurt you would most likely end up dead. All this horrible treatment truly affected Louie psychological as well. During the imprisonment he managed to stay strong mentally by not going crazy enough to kill himself and also by staying sane enough to be strategically incompliant in the interrogation rooms to let the interrogators feel satisfied while not relinquishing U.S. security. This psychological strength didn t last long after Louie got out of the prison camps though, for he had constant reminding of The Bird and the evils that happened to him by daydreams and nightmares. This is commonly known as post traumatic stress disorder. After he found out bird was still alive, Louie tried to forget and put the past behind him but the feeling of anxiety was just too great.
