Fidel Castro Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Fidel Castro can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies not only in the extensive research required to understand the complex political and
historical context surrounding Castro's life but also in presenting a nuanced and unbiased
perspective. Fidel Castro's legacy is a topic of heated debate, with diverse opinions on his role in
shaping Cuba's destiny and his impact on global geopolitics.
To write a comprehensive essay, one must delve into Castro's early life, revolutionary activities,
leadership of the Cuban Revolution, and subsequent rule. Analyzing the socio-economic
changes, political ideologies, and international relations during his regime adds further layers of
complexity. Moreover, addressing controversies such as human rights abuses, censorship, and the
strained relationship with the United States demands careful consideration of various
perspectives.
Balancing the portrayal of Fidel Castro as a revolutionary hero and a dictator requires a delicate
touch, as the subject is emotionally charged for many. A well-rounded essay should incorporate a
broad range of sources, from historical accounts to scholarly analyses and personal testimonies.
Striking a balance between facts, analysis, and personal reflection is crucial to providing readers
with a comprehensive understanding of the subject.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Fidel Castro requires navigating a labyrinth of historical
events, conflicting viewpoints, and moral considerations. It is an intellectually demanding task
that necessitates thorough research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
However, the process of unraveling the complexities of Castro's life and legacy can offer
valuable insights into the challenges and contradictions of revolutionary leadership.

Wilfred Owen s War Poetry Essay
Wilfred Owen s War Poetry
If Wilfred Owen s war poetry had one main aim, it would be to expose
the old lie : that war is always a good and justified thing and that it is a good thing
to die for one s country. Owen had experienced first hand the horrors and tragedies
of the First World War, so he inevitably wanted to break open the false façade and
let the world know the truth. I am going to explore what I find to be three of his best
poems and show how he achieved this aim.
Owen was born on the 18th of March 1893 in Shropshire, England. He received a
good education as a child and in 1915 he enlisted in the army when he was 22 years
old. He was injured in a shell explosion in
France and transferred to a war hospital back in ... Show more content on

Herbert Asquith wrote The Volunteer which was one of the most romanticised war
poems of all time. It was about a young boy in a city grey with no lance broken , who
goes to join the army. He dies but lies content and euphemistically goes to join the
Men of Agincourt . These poems are incredibly full of euphemisms of war and
mention no words like pain or death . But when poets who thought they could find
glory and honour in war actually arrived at the battlefields everything changed and
the anti war poems begun.
Dulce Et Decorum Est is arguably Wilfred Owen s most famous poem. It uses very
figurative language in order to describe the horrors of a gas attack on a few men
while they are marching towards their distant rest . It is split up into three parts. The
first part describes the
men marching asleep towards their distant rest . The second part describes the gas
attack. Most of them manage to get their gas masks on, but one man fumbles and
drowns . In the third part Owen describes the horror of walking behind the wagon
they flung him into and watching him slowly and painfully dying. He then addresses
Jessie
Pope as my friend and tells her that of she had seen what he saw; she would not tell

Why Launch an Advertising Campaign
Why Launch An Advertising Campaign
To start off, when your company is just becoming established in the British market,
consumers will have no knowledge of your product, we must encourage or persuade
the consumer to buy your product. To make customers aware of the product we must
advertise. Large scale advertising mainly consists of advertising on TV, Radio,
newspapers and other large scale media. This ensures that advertising reaches the
largest amount of people in the shortest amount of time. It is likely that the
consumer will be more interested in the product if they hear of on a national level
such as TV or Radio. We must watch out for other companies in Britain that sell a
similar product or overseas companies that sell in Britain so ... Show more content on

The only form mentioned that would not be suitable would be direct mailing, to
which the general public refer to a junk mail. The question arises whether you
would mail the children that are likely to want the product or whether to mail the
parents that would buy the product for their children. If you were to mail the
children then the parents could get very annoyed at the fact that you went directly
to the children instead of through their guardians. Although if you were to mail the
parents there would not be a very large chance that it would also reach the children,
who would be the driving force of the sale of the product. Sales promotion or
endorsements would be a good idea as this would ensure that more people heard
about the product and it would be more appealing if a well known children s
presenter was to endorse the product.
Branding
Multiple product branding would be the best idea for Pakanawa as with multiple
branding the firm is not always known as the same one and with Pakanawa s toys, the
different products under different brands could inhibit the sale of the other brands.
With multiple product branding the company would be recognised as selling all these
products and with a well established market this would benefit the company although
multiple branding has one advantage over this, if the company has had bad publicity,

Should Andrew Jackson Be On The Twenty Dollar Bill...
Should Andrew Jackson be on the Twenty Dollar Bill?
Was Andrew Jackson a hero or a villain? Does he deserve to be on the twenty dollar
bill? The things he did were appealing only for a few. This did not represent all of
the United States. He did what was best for the majority of Americans. His ideas
did not appeal to the rich and well born because his focus was farmers. The
majority is not always what is right. Jackson s approach was very straight forward.
He got rid of people he didn t agree with and hired people who had the same
opinions as him. This led to abuses of political power designed to benefit and enrich
the ruling party. A hero needs to listen to others and not just do what he wishes just
because he has the ultimate power to do so. Andrew Jackson should not be on the
twenty dollar bill because he forced Native Americans out of their homes, did not
follow rules, and had a terrible temper.
To begin, Jackson pulled all of the Native Americans out of... Show more content on

Andrew decided to go to Florida and kill a fort full of Spanish soldiers against
Monroe s orders. He is definitely not a hero if he ignores the orders of his
commander. A hero needs to listen to others and not just do what he wishes just
because he can. Many of the things he did were declared unconstitutional and were
not honored or followed by his people. When the Cherokee s land case was taken to
the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Marshall ruled that Georgia had no right in
taking the Cherokee s land. Jackson vowed to ignore the Supreme Court s ruling.
John Marshall has made his decision, Jackson reportedly said. Now let him enforce
it. (Thane Economy, 2018) Although, he did what was best for the majority of the

Newman Sociology
According to author Newman Sociology is defined as an systematic study of
human societies (Newman, 2010, p. 6). Sociology comprises of a set of complex

decisions, interactions, and so on (Newman, 2010, p. 6) the above list produce a

openness, eagerness, and freedom from preconceptions when approaching
anything ( What is a beginner s mind, nd, 2015). Where we as individuals feel as
though we must always know the correct path or answer the beginner s mind exists
within a space that it knows not what to do. The article elaborates that this is a
delicious state when you are sure of nothing, yet completely fearless, totally
available to the moment ( What is a beginner s mind, nd, 2015). A beginner s mind
could be compared to that of children. The mind is submersed into an alien
environment; although, through this lack of direction can one truly grasp the
concept that is presented to them. It is fundamentally important for a novice to
practice a beginner s mind when delving into the study of sociology. If a student
maintains a beginner s mind, he/she shall be able to devote oneself to the new and
complex theories developed by sociology. To make oneself available to complete the

Bridges are networking devices that can connect 2 local area networks (LAN). A
bridge can learn all of the MAC addresses on the network, and this is done during
the bridges data gathering phase. Basically a bridge will receive the data and
analyze the address. The bridge will then pass the data on to the correct address.
The ports on a bridge are in and out, but they are smart ports with the ability to
locate the address on the network. Switches are much like a bridge where they can
connect networks that use the same protocols. They are used to direct traffic over
multiple networks. Some switches will check ... Show more content on

In a small network with just file sharing a 10 Mbps NIC card would work fine, but
with 24 computers in the LA office the advantages of having the faster 10/100
cards outweigh keeping the older slower cards. Karla receiving formal training
would help SMPR in the future. I believe that it would make her an even greater
asset to the company if she was properly trained. Her knowledge and experience
would greater benefit this company. Karla has done a great job with the knowledge
that she posses and if she had some formal training she could be an even greater
benefit. Managing and troubleshooting a network a certain level of training that she
at the moment lacks, and that is why I believe that she would benefit from some
formal training. I would benefit in attending the seminar on fine tuning Ethernet
networks. This seminar would help increase my knowledge pool. Seminars are times
to learn new techniques and then apply to techniques to help my network run more
optimal. I believe all Techs would greatly benefit from attending these seminars for
the knowledge that they gain, and possibly from the people that they meet. Gaining
this knowledge would help me do my job better and also help keep the SMPR
network running smoothly. Ethernet is typically the technology that is used to allow
computers locally to communicate with one another. Computers that are close to
each other they are connected by Ethernet.
Colin Powell Leadership Analysis
This paper is a descriptive essay that explains in detail how or why Colin Powell s
eighteen leadership principles pertains to me during phase II of 922A Warrant
Officer Basic Course. I chose three leadership principals that I was able to identify
with: (1) Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off. (2) You don t
know what you can get away with until you try. (3) Perpetual optimism is a force
multiplier. This paper describes my personal opinions and real life experiences
that pertain to each of the three principals chosen. Three Leadership Principals
from Colin Powell s Leadership Philosophy Being a leader, doing the right thing
and living up to the army values are all things that society expects of a military
officer. Leadership means to positively influence, motivate and provide your
Soldiers with a sense of purpose to accomplish the mission to the highest standard.
General Colin Powell has published both books and articles on leadership,
specifically his eighteen principles of leadership. After reading through the
eighteen principles I have chosen three that I am able to identify with and will
discuss in detail how and why each principle pertains to me. The first principle I
chose was, Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off. A quality leader
shows responsibility for the welfare and well being of their Soldiers, which also
inevitably means some people will get angry at decisions you make. Being a people

Adolescence And Its Effects On Adult Behavior Essay
Adolescence is a turbulent time in every individual s life, containing marked
behavioral and biological changes as the brain rapidly develops into its mature form.
This period overlaps with puberty, the process of attaining sexual maturation, and
throughout its progression intricate differences between the two sexes are revealed
that were not previously apparent. (Spear, 2000; TEXTBOOK) It is thought that
adolescence is a necessary process, a period of transition through which individuals
prepare for living independently in adulthood. Adolescents begin to emulate adult
behaviors and seek novelty, with an inhibited regard for danger, as they accumulate
the skills needed to provide for themselves. (Spear, 2000) There are several
characteristics of adolescence that seem to make an individual more prone to
experimenting with addictive druguse, to his or her potential detriment. These
include: an increase in taking species specific risks, an overall rise in novelty
seeking, and a particularly relevant phenomenon of finding peer interactions more
socially rewarding than those conducted with an adult caretaker. (Spear, 2000)
Partaking in illicit drugs is a clear form of risky behavior in human adolescents;
children in developed countries are educated about the potential consequences of
such misconduct, particularly those of abusing alcohol and/or tobacco. However,
animal studies that compare drug use during development versus in adulthood
provide evidence that adults will
Life-Cycle Cost Analysis
Life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) is a method for assessing the total cost of facility
ownership. It takes into account all costs of acquiring, owning, and disposing of a
building or building system. LCCA is especially useful when project alternatives that
fulfill the same performance requirements, but differ with respect to initial costsand
operating costs, have to be compared in order to select the one that maximizes net
savings. For example, LCCA will help determine whether the incorporation of a high
performance HVAC or glazing system, which may increase initial costbut result in
dramatically reduced operating and maintenance costs, is cost effective or not. LCCA
is not useful for budget allocation.
Lowest life cycle cost (LCC) is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
LCCA can be repeated throughout the design process if more detailed cost
information becomes available. Initially, construction costs are estimated by
reference to historical data from similar facilities. Alternately, they can be
determined from government or private sector cost estimating guides and databases.
The Tri Services Parametric Estimating System (TPES) contained in the National
Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Construction Criteria Base (CCB) developed
models of different facility types by determining the critical cost parameters (i.e.,
number of floors, area and volume, perimeter length) and relating these values
through algebraic formulas to predict costs of a wide range of building systems,
subsystems, and assemblies. The TPES models can be adapted to facilities beyond
those included in the base modeling system by using SuccessEstimator, a software
package available from U.S. Cost.
Detailed cost estimates are prepared at the submittal stages of design (typically at
30%, 60%, and 90%) based on quantity take off calculations. These estimates rely on
cost databases such as the Commercial Unit Price Book (C UPB) or the R. S. Means
Building Construction Cost Database.
Testing organizations such as ASTM International and trade organizations have
reference data for materials and products they test or represent.

Epigraph In Into The Wild By Jon Krakauer
Chapter nine epigraph
This epigraph represents the essence of Chris McCandless through Everett Ruess
writings, expressing how they view life, choose to exist, and why the wilderness
is so compelling to the both of them. Caused by hardships in his early life, Chris
McCandless forms new beliefs about society that isolate him from civilization.
Chris has family, friends, and companionship, but no one truly understands him and
his need for escape. Everett Ruess asked, Do you blame me then for staying here,
where I feel that I belong and am one with the world around me? Like Ruess, Chris
had so few people with whom he could share the things meant so much to him; no
one truly understood. While society is fastened on a train, set with pre determined
stops along the way, Ruess and McCandless ride a train that leads to the unknown,
because they would prefer anything to an anticlimax (87). ... Show more content on

Krakauer said, I believe we were similarly affected by the skewed relationships we
had with our fathers....we had a similar intensity...a similar agitation of the soul (155).
Such similar men, seeking similar adventures, except there is one difference: Jon
Krakauer survived his Alaskan adventure and Chris McCandless did not. Seeing
himself in Chris, Krakauer wanted to solve the mystery of a death that could have
been his own; it was the dark mystery of mortality (155) that fascinated Krakauer so
Remember The Titans Movie And Movie
Remember The Titans is a novel written by Steve Sullivan and is a film directed by
Boaz Yakin. It talks about how Bill Yoast was the real life hero that changed the
struggles of black and white high school football athletes to create a championship
season in racially charged Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972. The plots and characters
are the same in the movie and the book. Much of the movie s dialogue is taken
directly from the book. However, there are many differences in the description of
the characters relationships, the description of the decrease in racial tension, and
the description of the increase in teamwork, unity, and pride. Early in the film,
before training camp, both the white and black players were unhappy with
integration. During the training, there was a scene of training players blocking
and yelling at each other. Also, one of the football players took a screwdriver from
his car and ran towards the demonstrators. However, the beginning of the story
talks about Bill Yoast life. His father was a hobo, Tears filled my eyes as I realized
hobo Yoast was on his way (Bill 2). Bill s first job was as a cotton picker, and he
had to get up early to walk to the field. If you know anything about cotton then you
know you gotta get pickin before the sun slaps you silly. It s an early morning
thing that means you rise a few hours after the moon showed its face. At least I did
because the cotton field where I was going to lived in the boonies (Bill 3). In 1943,

Admiral Yi s Impact On East Asian History
Few people in history are as influential yet obscure as Admiral Yi Sun shin. Admiral
Yi was born in 1545 and died in battle in 1598. His exemplary performance as an
admiral and his loyalty to his country were lauded by both Koreans and Japanese.
Even westerners like Admiral George Alexander Ballard have acknowledged the
brilliance of admiral Yi. Admiral Yi Sun shin had a significant impact on East Asian
history through his defense of Korean independence, development of revolutionary
naval combat tactics, and his legacy sparking Korean nationalism. The first and most
obvious impact that Yi Sun shin had on history was his defence of Koreafrom Japan.

The Imjin Wars themselves drummed up nationalism in both Korea and Japan2.
However for Korea in particular Yi was a potent symbol (Yi Sun shin 1998). One
reason for his importance is that during his life he was not treated well by the
Choson government. After fighting off the first Japanese invasion Yi was arrested
and demoted to the lowest level in the military. Even after his humiliation and
demotion at the hands of the government that he had saved he served devotedly in
his station (Yi Sun shin 1998). Perhaps this was due to his confucian ethic or
maybe it was due to his personal nationalism and loyalty to the Korean state Since
that response was also redolent of Korean patriarchy and a host of prevailing social
values as well as martial spirit and actually succeeded in driving off the invader, it
was to earn him even greater accolades as a savior of his nation (Gilbert, 2017). Yi
s status has also caused an annual festival to be held at the headquarters of the
Korean navy to commemorate admiral Yi s accomplishments and to celebrate the
blossoming of the cherry trees (Gilbert, 2017). Admiral Yi also has a national shrine
that is 342,112 square meters. There are also several statues of Yi Sun shin in south
Korea, the largest is in downtown Seoul (Gilbert, 2017). Based on his presence today
it is clear to see that Yi had a lasting impact on Korean nationalism.

The Gospel Of John
The Gospel of John compared to the others has developed a lengthy, philosophical
manner of speech which describes Jesus divinity as the highest Christology.
Through this it expresses Jesus as the flesh of the eternal and living God, as a
Source of Light and a Son of God. John s Gospel focuses on the individual believers
and their relationships with Jesus, as well as, show that the Spirit is the central
connection between God, Jesus and believers. The main purpose of this Gospelis to
make God Known, to inspire belief in himself and the Father, to glorify the Father
and to bring salvation. Throughout the Gospel, Jesus character is described as

them. Jesus appears... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory states that sin is a provocation to God s great honor. His death brings
great honor and respect to God because he removed all the sins that we erroneously
caused. Jesus pays it all back through his sacrifice. We are then liberated from our
sins. Ultimately, this restores a sinner to harmony by placing them back on the right
path in order to repair their relationship with God. The notion of the Spirit in John,
is understand after Jesus death and his Resurrection because once he gives up his
Spirit, he returns to breath his glorified Spirit onto the disciples who believe in him.
Ultimately, this ties back with the idea that there is a connection between the
disciples and the Father, Son and Spirit. His breath reminds the people of ... what
Jesus taught them, and reinforces the truth that God is love and that they are
therefore called to love one another in the self sacrificial way that Jesus loved them
The Negative Impacts Of Globalization
The Negative Impacts of Globalization
Across the world, globalization is one of the most significant aspects that has
occurred over the last fifty years. It allows a country to integrate economically with
other countries through a global network comprised of people, trade, and
transportation. With the global landscape only becoming more intertwined,
globalization and its inherent pros and cons seem to be here to stay. In many areas,
global powers tend to lack in rectifying the negative aspects and only focus on the
positive side. America, for example, is a leader in the globalization efforts, even
though it has greatly effected job opportunities at home, widening income gaps, and
an increased standard of living due to fluctuating world markets.
America has been involved in globalization since before its conception as colonist
relied heavily on trade. Osland states that even, during the 15th century, voyages
were made by explorers who were funded by the European monarchs to seek new
trade routes (Osland 137). The colonist eventually began trading with natives as
they bartered for spices and treasures in exchange for anything that the natives
deemed of use. Eventually, trade companies were established to control the flow of
more products and it only expanded from there. After World War 2, world banks
were created to help with the post war clean up and the global markets began to gain
power as trade became a priority for most countries.
A major globalization agenda is to
Coral Bleaching Dinoflagellates
Coral bleaching is a broad yet complex topic that involves the mutualistic and obligate
symbiosis between corals and dinoflagellate algae of the genus Symbiodinium,
commonly referred to as zooxanthellae. Bleaching occurs when a significant
concentration of the zooxanthellae are no longer fixed on the coral, which occurs due
to an inability to perform their role (Wooldridge and Done 2009). With the often
colorful dinoflagellate algaegone, the coral is left as a white carbonate skeleton
(Douglas 2003). There are many effects, symptoms, and chemical changes that occur
to arrive at that point; bleaching, therefore, can be thought of as a broad term
describing the multiple different symptoms and mechanisms causing these
deleterious responses of coral. These effects influence not only the endosymbiotic
relationship of the corals and dinoflagellates but also the myriad of organisms that
depend on the corals. In this paper, I will describe the complex nature of the causes,
environmentally and mechanically, of bleaching and their effects on the ecosystem
they inhabit. First, the main environmental causes of the effects of coral reef
bleaching will be described, namely changes in water conditions. The specific damage
to the coral reef will then be explored, looking deeply into the underlying
biochemistry of the symbiotic relationship. Finally, the consequence... Show more

For the plethora of species that inhabit the corals, they provide food and shelter and
tend to mitigate the competition and predation that occur in the ecosystems they are
a part of; this moderation is due to the topographic complexity that many coral reefs
display, facilitating the abundance of coral based niches (Garpe et al. 2006). This
diversity in complexity means that a larger number of species and a larger
abundance of each reef fish type can exist in the same

Abstract Today, many organizations struggle with implementing realistic strategies
for growth. More than ever leaders are faced with developing and implementing
strategic plans that promote organizational effectiveness while addressing potential
threats. Through research I have discovered that there are several approaches or
perspectives that leaders can take when developing organizational strategies for
growth. According to Porter, (1996) in regard to strategy organizations Must be

Ultimately, it is organziational theories practiced or studied by leaders that enables
aspired outcomes.
Organizational Theories Organizations have different perceptions of the environment
and how organization environment assists with understanding both theory and
practice. Hatch and Cunliffe s introduction began with explaining some important
terms (theory, concept, and abstract, phenomenon of interest, ontology, and
epistemology) related to organization theory. Hatch and Cunliffe (2006) suggest that
the concepts and theories of a particular perspective offer you distinctive thinking
tools with which to craft ideas about organizations and organizing (p.11).
Organizations have different perceptions of the environment and how organization
environment assists with understanding both theory and practice. Extensive studies
of organizations, with an evaluation of different theoretical perspectives have
contributed to the growing knowledge of organizations. These perspectives have
contributed to our knowledge about organizations. Different perspectives can
individually and collectively help leaders understand and manage organizations in
differently. Managementcan be reserved for internal purposes alone assuming that
classical theories and practices are adequate. But when the external environment is a
factor there isn t an organization that can continue as a closed system. In an

I Am From A Little Town Of Puerto Rico
December 1999, the year I decided to do a big change in my life and move to
Springfield, Massachusetts. I am from a little town in Puerto Rico, which few
people are familiar with, coming to such a big country. It was a challenge that
change the way I see life and the way I see right from wrongs.
I was so naГЇve even at my 20, my world before coming to USA was full of healthy
people in all aspects. Didn t know much about drugs, sex, abortion, violence,
people taking advantage of the government benefits or other cultures, other than

Gender Stereotypes And Gender Roles
Gender roles are defined as the widely accepted societal expectations about how
males and females should behave (Rathus, 2010).From gender roles, we, the people
of society, are able to determine whether someone identifies as a male or a female.
Both biological and social factors tend to determine what genderroles a person takes
on. However, there are also gender stereotypes, which are the fixed and
oversimplified beliefs about the ways in which men and women ought to behave
(Rathus, 2010). Often times, gender stereotypes are related back to the traditional
beliefs of when women were responsible for staying home and being the caregivers
and men were responsible for going out to work and bringing home the food,
supplies, and money that the family needed (Rathus, 2010). There are four main
differences between the genders: physical, cognitive, personality, and behaviors.
Physical differences are the most obvious differences between genders. Those
differences come from the primary and secondary sexcharacteristics. The primary sex
characteristics of females are their ovaries and males have testes. As far as
secondary sex characteristics, females tend to have wider hips and smaller bodies
and males tend to have more facial hair and deeper voices. Some cognitive
differences between males and females are that males are often more superior in
visual spatial abilities used in math, science, and map reading, and females are often
more superior at writing, reading, and foreign
Trip To Florida In Spike Jonze s Adaptation
Charlie Kaufman s trip to Florida in Spike Jonze s Adaptation demonstrates the
themes of the film and comments on the process of writing a Hollywood Adaptation.
The effects that the events of the trip have on Charlie exhibit principles important to
the success of an adaptation that he is neglecting in trying to tell an original story
devoid of conflict. Through changes in tone and realizations by the characters, the
trip demonstrates the importance of conflict, passionate characters, and change in a
Hollywood Adaptation.
Charlie is intent on writing an adaptation that faithfully retells Susan Orlean s story
about flowers without artificially inserting conflict. While writing his adaptation

Charlie, like the characters in Susan s book, does not experience real change until
this point in the film. Before their decisions to go to Florida Charlie and Susan try
to avoid change, Charlie both in his life and in his adaptation. Robert McKee tells
Charlie that Characters must change, and the change must come from inside of
them. During a drive in his van John tells Susan that, Adaptation is a profound
process. It means you figure out how to survive in the world. This applies both to
the plants that he is talking about, the Characters in this film, and Hollywood
adaptations. When Charlie adapts to his surroundings in Florida and acts
differently that he has in order to survive, he demonstrates a principle that is just
as true for his adaptation as it is for him; that change is necessary in order to
survive. The Hollywood adaptation cannot simply be a story about flowers with no
change or conflict because it won t, in a metaphorical sense, survive. Charlie s
change is a comment on the necessity of change in the adaptation process. In order to
successfully adapt The Orchid Thief Charlie must introduce the change that real
people experience. The trip to Florida clarifies that a Hollywood adaptation must
have change and conflict because life
Quitting In Softball
Fastpitch softball is a game of mental precision. It has its ups and downs. One game,
you may feel as if you are unstoppable. While the following game may send you
crying the entire car ride home. Even the rush of hitting a home run or the excitement
of pitching a no hitter, are no match for the mental games that always seem to follow
a disappointing play. There are moments in each athlete s softball career in which this
disappointment becomes too much. It swallows them completely and consequently
leaves them questioning why they ever started playing the game. It may even cause
them to consider quitting.
There have been moments in my softball career when quitting appeared to be the best
option. Ordinarily, it is not difficult to believe quitting

the historians task is to understand the past; the human scientist, by contrast, is
looking to change the future. To what extent is this true in these areas on
knowledge? Life is too short for any individual to make every mistake. We use
history to learn where we come from and what the caused events of the past to
happen. There must be a strong in depth understanding of what causes events such as
the renaissance all the way to World War Two. Creating a strong understanding of the
past helps form a guide to make the future better. Human sciences seek the

These two areas of knowledge not only seek the same goal but are also
complimentary to one another. They are both encompassed within the overall study
of how civilization works and in turn how to improve the future from that
knowledge. While history is a part of the past us studying what has happened helps
us prevent the bad again and replicate the good, both to improve the future for

These two areas of knowledge seem incredibly different at first glance but are

Essay on Florianne by Daniel Woodrell
A horrific event may change life entirely. Even worse, an unsolved mystery regarding
a loved one may lead to despair and restrain a person from moving on. While knowing
the truth may bring a feeling of closure, inquietude and uneasiness may ensue
uncertainty. The short storyFlorianne, written by Daniel Woodrell, tells about a father
whose entire life revolves around the mysterious disappearance of his daughter. Even
eleven years after she vanished he still hasn t begun to move on. Throughout the story
the reader may interpret the disappearance with different approaches. One may either
assume that the daughter was kidnapped, or that she ran away herself from her home
and the small town life. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Florianne comes from the word flora, which is the Latin word for flower. It s
derived from the word flos, with the meaning flower or blossom.. In the story there
s described a change in Florianne s character and behavior. The narrator says ... the
girl ran to fat for so long, had a roly poly figure until the year before she went
gone...That meant so much to her, to finally have a figure clothes looked good on
(page 42, lines 4 10). Florianne blossomed before she vanished. Henry also blames
Florianne s weight gain on her mother while describing her figure as a roly poly
figure. He s to some extent (14:6) bullied Florianne and just a year before she
disappeared she found the strength and determination to change her body and her
life. This course of action can be interpreted as... She gains control over her life and
in contrast to her father s self pity, she s going to take action over her fate, just like
her mother did.
Daniel Woodrell succeeds in creating a short story which forces the reader to
consider different scenarios. Paranoia and obsession are luring beneath the surface
of a protagonist portrayed as a desperate father unable to move on. Daniel Woodrell
shows how a tragic event may consume a person as well as leave said person in
denial and without the opportunity to proceed. And while the upfront possibility that
the father is true in his assumption that his daughter was

In a traditional point of view, humans are above animals, but the ability of the
merchant to understand the animals defies the traditional hierarchy. This
decentralization of the relationship between a human and an animal is significant in
the fact that the words of a rooster end up influencing the actions of a person (the
merchant). The rooster represents the traditional patriarchal concept of male
superiority over female since he discusses a stern piece of advice with a dog, after
he jumped on a hen and, finishing with her, jumped down and jumped on another
(Haddawy, 19), displaying a behavior of control and disrespect over the opposite sex.
The rooster indirectly advises the merchant, through his conversation with the dog, to
fall on her (referring to the merchantВґs wife) (19) and beat her with an oak branch
until she has no desire to question her husbandВґs actions. The merchant heeds the
words of the rooster, and reestablishes the hierarchy of male over female dominance
by using impulsive and violent animal like brutality. Yet, the hierarchy of human
reason dominance over animalistic behavior was diminished after the merchant
followed the advice of his cock. The Tale of the Merchant and the Demon also
explores changes of hierarchies related to the crossing of human animal border. In the
First Old ManВґs Tale, the infertile wife of the old man, driven by her jealousy,

crack joke. Drugs are increasingly being misused and abused. Yet, today s youth in
its ignorance takes drugs as a light matter. It is a different story altogether from
someone who has actually used drugs. In Beautiful Boy, journalist David Sheff

The reason being was that Sheff s voice constantly changed. When he discussed
statistics, he became impersonal as if he was a reporter. When he reminisced on
Nic s childhood, the tone would drastically shift to chatty. His anecdotes about his
background, his thoughts, and his feelings all made him sound reflective. For
example, he said, I have held back my tears. But now I knew it was time to let
them go (290). With all these different voices, he was able to appeal to many
people. Beautiful Boy was a powerful story that used different aspects of rhetoric to
help establish connections with the audience. Sheff used pathos effectively to the
point that his audience cannot help, but constantly relate to his situation. Like
many parents, Sheff blamed himself for Nic s mistakes. He cannot help but
question his upbringing and decisions. He says, Did I spoil me? Was I too lenient? If
only his mother and I stayed together (145). He also says, If only I had never used
drugs (145). Not only does Sheff battle against his son, he also fought against
remorse. It is in parenthood where he sees repercussions for his previous actions. If
he had not experimented with drugs, he could at least be a decent example for Nic.
Beautiful Boy also used ethos as a way for the audience to get an insight on who
Sheff actually is. He is first, above all, a father. Sheff loves and cares for Nic. He said
he was enraptured by his child when he was born. I willingly forsake sleep
The Pros And Cons Of The FDA
For producers of food animals in the United States this year is not going to be the
same as any other year in the past. Why, you may ask? The Food and Drug
Administration created stricter guidelines to the Veterinary Feed Directive. For
example, any beef producer has used or heard of MGA in their lifetime. Many
producers just order MGA, mix it with the feed and feed it. MGA is used to
synchronize heifers or to prevent heifers from coming into heat in the feedlot so
they don t waste energy while in heat. Producers are now going to have to take extra
steps to get the antibiotics they need for their heard. This is going to affect almost all
producers of foodanimals, large and small. The FDA is going to have to teach and
inform producers about how what and why this is put into effect. FDA and
researchers are going to have to explain to and keep producers up to date with
information like the following.
What is the FDA and what does it do you may ask? The FDA stands for Food and
Drug Administration. They are responsible for protecting the public s health, and
ensure the safety and security of human and veterinary dugs. They also regulate the
making, selling and distribution of products. The FDA regulates many things
including foods, like additives and supplements, drugs, both prescription and non

antibiotics. The government continues to research and analyze the use of antibiotics
in animals and humans. It is not a fact that the use of antibiotics in animals cause

therefore if they completely band antibiotics it would put animal welfare and food
safety at a large risk. By implementing the VFD the government can assure people
that farmers and ranchers are using antibiotics
Standing Seam Roof Research Paper
Over a long period of time, a consumer s most traditional choice for a roofing system
was asphalt shingles. Other options were sparse and if you wanted to purchase a
distinct roofing material compared to asphalt shingles; metal roofing was one of the
roofing materials that would do the job. When most homeowners begin
contemplating about a metal roof, all they could visualize were the roofing materials
they had observed on barns and commercial buildings. Now metal roofing is
appearing on homes all around neighborhoods. There are few types of metal
roofing, but there is a distinct type called standing seam metal roofing. A standing
seam roof is a metal roof where the seams position above the flat, steady surface. It
appears contrasting to the rigid metal roofsseen on barns and industrial buildings.
Standing seam roofing is amongst the most permanent and maintenance free type of

Saving Animal Shelters In America
Introduction
Murdered animals are the result of animals shelters neglecting to take care of them.
They are left with untreated diseases, and severe abandonment. No home and no
one to take care of them; this is what it s like for these animals everyday, and it s
because of traditional kill shelters. A recent study conducted that there are 70 million
stray cats and dogs live in the United States. There are 13,600 estimated animal
shelters nationwide. Only 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters every
year. It s the lack of animal shelters letting animals in, or killing them instead, that
has cause so many to die. An author from animal shelter blog states: When no kill

the numbers of homeless animals are significantly reduced, our community will

overpopulation, in which animals aren t accepted anywhere else, so the shelters kill
them because there isn t pspace. If more animal shelters opened their doors and
more shelters were opened up, more animals wouldn t have to be murdered and
instead saved and cared for by loving people

Repurpose Software You Already Own
Repurposing in general as a concept is beneficial. The positive points here are that
money is being saved by using already owned software. Also the creativity of using
one tool to solve business problems. However, one negativity is that it might impede
productivity. For example, if a writer decided to use Word Pad which is the text
editor bundled with Microsoft Windows to write a novel instead of using Microsoft
Word, he will be saving money but productivity is lost because Word Pad is not as
powerful is Word when it comes to professional writing. However, old software
might not be secure after a while (Andress, 2011).

Research Question Relationship to Research Design
Research Question Relationship to Research Design

The research question or hypotheses narrows the purpose statement. It predicts what
will be learned and the questions studied. A research question must indicate a target
population. It must identify the dependent variable and the independent variable(s)
as well as answer what is the desired knowledge or conclusion. Accurate results come
from a good research question. Variables must be clearly defined. Based on the data

There are three elements that must be present in an experimental research design:
(1)A relationship between two variables
(2)A time order between the two variables
(3)The relationships found cannot be the result of a confounding variable. (Muijs,
2010, p. 20). The relationship between two variables is either positive or negative.
If they are positive, both variables are positive. For example, if there is increased
political propaganda there is increased political bias. On the other hand, negative
relationships between variables will have lower values on one variable while the
other value will be higher. Time order, is explained by cause and effect. One
variable precedes the other. For example, political propaganda causes political bias.
The third element, confounding variables, means, the research question cannot be
explained by a third variable (Muijs, 2010, p. 21).
Experimental research design is chosen for this study using a randomized two group
pretest posttest design. It is appropriate for this research because it satisfies the three
requirements above. Experimental design maintains the most control over external
elements. The research design will measure the bias by introducing a lesson
containing political material to two stratified (Vogt (2007) sample random groups:
controversial group and non controversial group. The controversial group
Punctuality And The American Capitalist Mentality
Strict punctuality is perhaps the cheapest virtue which can give force to an otherwise
utterly insignificant character. (J.F. Boyes) Punctuality is one of the cornerstones of
the American Capitalist mindset. From birth, being on time is constantly stressed as
a necessary skill that is needed to truly be successful in the world. Lateness is not a
tolerated from school, work, and even outings with friends. Even for the most loyal
friend and employee chronic failure to arrive on timecould lead to the demise of a
relationship with the other party. No matter the excuse or reason Lateness is
defined as arriving at a setting after the start of a scheduled event. (Harrison and
Price 2003, p.205). Consequently immediately after the event starts or it passes
the time someone either agreed or was told to be somewhere they are late. Mastery
of this skill is not easily achieved which is self evident, as a majority of the
population knows someone who is never on time, or may even be that individual
themselves. Unfortunately people who are constantly late have a bad stigma
associated with themselves. Adjectives like rude, inconsiderate, and lazy are
constantly being thrown in their direction. Though the blame may be of no fault of
their own. What causes this pattern of disregard for the strict standards everyone
else listens to that time places? Ranging from early, on time, and late, the
classification time sets on an arrival leaves little room for error if one still hopes to

This method can be applied vertically, inclined, and over head surfaces with minimum

Shotcrete process is carried out either by these two processes: a) Wet process b) Dry

a) Wet process: In the wet process mixture of cement and aggregate premixed with
water and the pump pushes the mixture through the hose and nozzle. Compressed air
is introduced at nozzle to increase the velocity of application.
b) Dry process: In dry mix process, compressed air propels premixed mortar and
damp aggregate and at the nozzle end water is added through a separate hose. The
dry mix and water through the second hose are projected on to a prepared surface.
Surface preparation before shotcreting involves a thorough cleaning and removing
all loose aggregate and roughening the existing concreting surface for improved
bond. Shotcrete frequently has high shrinkage characteristics and measures to
prevent cracks using adequate reinforcement and proper curing is always necessary.
The shotcrete surface can be lift as sprayed which is somewhat rough. If a smoother
surface is required, a thin layer can be sprayed on the hardened shotcrete and then
reworked and finished to the required texture or plaster can be applied.

Behaviorism And Emergent Literacy
Behaviorism and Emergent Literacy Emergent literacy is the knowledge of reading
and writing, before being formally taught how to read and write. After birth children
are already in the process of becoming literate. Children learn literacy in many ways.
For example, children learn from their parents through modeling when reading to
them at bedtime, reading signs, and making list. Children also learn about literacy
from own their interactions and experiences. Currently, there are four main
theoretical perspectives on language acquisition: Behaviorist Perspective, Nativist
Perspective, Social Interactionist Perspective, and Neurobiological Perspective. Each
theory has merit and is observable in certain situation throughout langue learning.
However, no one theory can describe emergent literacy in all situations. It is now
believed that each theory is more prevalent at different stages of learning. Researchers
believe that the theories replace each other in some form throughout emergent
literacy. (Vukelich, Christie Enz, 2012). The behaviorist view suggests that nurture,
not nature, is the dominant role in learning language. The main theorist for the
behaviorist perspective is B.F. Skinner. Behaviorists believe that... Show more content

The Revolutionary War (ADA)
The Revolutionary War (1775 1783), also known as the American War of
Independence, set Great Britain against their thirteen colonies in North America. The
Revolutionary War played a major role in the evolution of the United States of
America, the United States Army, and the various branches in the U.S. Army
including the Air Defense Artillery (ADA). Although it would not be established until
July 1917, events during this war and wars shortly thereafter would inspire the United
States Army to create the Coast Artillery Corps (CAC), which would eventually be
reconstituted as ADA (Stiller, 1987). This paper will discuss the history of the war,
how the outcome influenced the ADA, and the ripple effect that continues to have an
impact on present day... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Americans dominated the British through unconventional war tactics, leading to
General Burgoyne s surrender (History.com Staff, 2009c). This event convinced the
French to join in the fight against Great Britain. In October 1781, with the help of
the French, American forces defeated the British at the Battle of Yorktown. The
victory would prove to be paramount. It would take almost two years before Britain
accepted defeat but by this point, the war was essentially over. On 3 September 1783,
the Treaty of Paris would formally recognize the independence of the thirteen North
American colonies. The treaty put an official end to the war (History.com Staff,
The Role Of The Chorus And Its Impact On The Audience
THE ROLE OF THE CHORUS AND ITS IMPACT ON THE AUDIENCE IN
OEDIPUS THE KING
Angad Dev Singh
History of Drama and Theater I
Optional Research Paper
Tenth of December 2014
The chorus is an essential feature of Greek classical drama. Instances of various
types of dance, singing, and speech are some elements of a Greek chorus. Composed
of similarly costumed men, they performed on the orchestra located beneath the
stage. The chorus stayed in the orchestra for the duration of the performance from
which vantage point they observed and commented on the action of the characters.
Oedipus is a play written by Sophocles, a respected playwright, and it is generally
assumed that the main function of the Sophoclean chorus is a philosophical one; that
it serves above all as the spokesman for a certain view of life. The chorus can be
dramatic in the following ways: through the personality of the group forming the
chorus and the appropriateness of their relationship to the action and the characters,
through the iambic lines spoken by the coryphaeus, through physical participation in
the action and through the choral songs. The chorus is an important component of
the Greek Tragedy Oedipus. Aside from its responsibility to effectively represent the
people of Thebes, the chorus in Oedipus has a powerful influence over audience
perceptions and emotions. Oedipus is a play centered around the mythical Greek
King of Thebes and his
Willy Vs Nora
Stock characters are uninteresting because they re seen repeatedly throughout
literature. When a character breaks free of the stereotype then he or she becomes
believable and memorable (Marks). Nora from A Doll s House initially fulfills the
subservient housewife motif but eventually actualizes that she was not born to
listen to what society tells her regarding how to be happy. Willy from Death of a
Salesman is a typical businessman who is afraid to let go of his salesman persona
even though it is not working in his best interest. Marks, in The Five Traps and Tips
for CharacterDevelopment points that Nora is more believable and memorable than
Willy. I argue that both Willy and Nora are memorable characters in their own unique
and distinct... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nora, unlike Willy, realizes she needs to be her own person. She must do so though
an escape of what society projects upon her as a mother. She unassumingly takes on
a role that she is not in order to fit into the mold society establishes for her.
By the end of the play, Willy does in fact get some closure; although not necessarily
the one he was aiming for. The product Willy had been selling all of his life ends up
being himself by committing suicide to get life insurance money to help his
struggling family. Willy wants to conform to societies expectations of success while
Nora rejects that being a plaything wife is wholly what makes her accomplished.
Nora, unlike Willy, ultimately achieves a personal awakening and becomes an
enlightened individual by the end of the play.
One aspect of character development is character defects. Nora s defect is an
unequivocal love within her marriage. Torvald treats Nora like a pet and not as his
life partner calling her his little song bird . Willy s character flaw is his
unwillingness to try something new when the current way becomes unsuccessful.
You want your reader to like the character, but this is difficult to do with Willy.
How can the reader find a redeeming quality in a man who refuses to listen to others
when they are trying to help him? On the other hand, readers love Nora because she
goes against societal norms to recreate
The Rhetorical Analysis Of The Onion
Do you have sore feet and feel like there is nothing that can stop or prevent your
foot pain? MagnaSoles are new shoe inserts for people just like you who have sore
feet! Did you fall for these tactics? Companies use these marketing tactics everyday
to convince people just like you to buy their product. In The Onion s press release,
the author demonstrates the use of the rhetorical triangle, bold diction and syntax,
and vivid imagery to explain how Americans fall for marketingtactics companies use.
First, the author utilizes strategies from the rhetorical triangle to create a stronger
argument about how the company MagnaSoles convinces customers to buy their
product using scientific research. The text includes ethos to point out how marketing
strategies establish the credibility of various speakers within the text. It includes a
thought from Dr. Arthur Bluni who is [...]the pseudoscientist who developed the
product for Massillon based Integrated Products. By appealing to credibility,
companies attract the consumers attention and convince them to buy this product.
The author uses logos to describe why customers should buy MagnaSoles. [...]
features more than 200 isometrically aligned Contour Points, states Dr. Arthur
Bluni. This quote describes how the company convinces people to buy this product
with the use of scientific research, which makes customers feel that the product will
be effective. The use of the rhetorical triangle helps demonstrate how the author s
use of ethos and logos mocks consumers for falling for buying this product. Second,
the author highlights bold diction and syntax to display the message about how
Americans fall for marketing tactics that companies use. The word choice that the
author uses supports the scientific research used and explains why consumers buy
this product. Dr. Wayne Frankel, who is the California State University biotrician
who discovered Terranometry states, [...] Earth s natural vibrational rate of 32.805
kilofrankels. This example of bold diction explains Frankel s scientific research to
show how customers are convinced to buy this product by these word choices. The
author uses very detailed word choice in the article to help describe MagnaSoles and
why people
Pharmasim Case Summary
Executive Summary
As the brand manager for Allround cold medicine, there were many decisions
regarding product formulation, strategy, line extensions and product launches over
the company s last 10 periods. The brand was focused on remaining a profitable,
mature product family within the cold medicine category, but also maintaining a
premium brand image.
ALAN S INITIAL STRATEGY. Please add, it should only be around 1 paragraph.
After a period of declining sales for Allround, we increased the advertising budget to
be consistent with our competitor s budget. We decided to be very consistent with
our strategy over the ten periods; however, in hindsight we should have implemented
a more dynamic strategy that factored in the changing ... Show more content on

We decided this extension would be successful, as it would cannibalize of Allround
sales the least. Even though the alcohol was dropped from Allround, doctors and
pharmacists recommended expectorant in the children s version over the cough
suppressant in Allround. As a result, our product choice was successful.
In period five, we introduced the line extension Allright; a 12 Hr muli symptom
relief capsule. We decided this extension would be successful, as the allergy market
is very small and had an entrenched competitor. Therefore, while we were aware of
potential cannibalization, we believed that the targeted market (retirees, empty
nesters, and young singles) would have sufficient demand for our product. We also
reasoned that this target was far enough removed from Allround s to gain additional
market share without taking any from Allround. However, this was not the case, as
cannibalization was a pressing issue. Market share was gained at the expense of
Allround.
Price
The AllStar brand was viewed as the premium brand on the market, this was reflected
by the pricing schemes of Allround and Allround+. However, Allright was launched
to be a flanker brand to capture market share from price sensitive consumers without
hurting Allround s brand image. Allround and Allround+ were priced as high as
possible within the bounds of the price effectiveness trade offs. This trade off was
also the basis for Allright pricing decisions, however, we could never increase the
price fast

Little Fish Research Paper
Little Fish There s a river on the edge of Missouri where my family and I camped.
My uncle called it The ole Roarin River because the river was always impossibly
full of life and movement. My cousin and I decided, on the edge of daybreak, that
we should take a swim. We jumped in and my petite self started to drift quickly
downstream. My cousin yelled and motioned for me to swim. I was so scared that I
might drown but the internal fire in me was fueled by the terrifying and dire
situation. I made it to the edge of the river and climbed out yelling and jumping
because I had done what I never thought was possible. I fought the current. Here I am
years later, from my head to my toes I am brimming with uniqueness. The

She went out one day with the intent of getting a job and doesn t come home
without one. Her new job at Vista Health was brutal and she often came home with
bruises from he nearly insane patients she had to deal with. The job was very
demanding and she had to work over night. Thankfully, my dad was home during
the evenings to be with us and on very rare occasions, he would cook us a meal
called Shoyu Chicken . My mom decided to take some of the chicken to work for
lunch; people caught a whiff of it and asked her about it. She explained that it was
my dad s one specialty meal he learned after living on Hawaii for 17 years. The
workers offered to pay her for some of the chicken and it started to become a
normal thing. The growing demand for the chicken had given my mom and dad
the idea to open a restaurant. Thus Hawaiian Brians was born. This sparked a new
era in my life and inspired me to keep moving forward to support my family in the
jump from bankruptcy to brick and mortar restaurant. This gave us a fresh start in
life. There would be more on the plate now not for just for my family but for me as
well. We eventually pulled out of bankruptcy because of the booming success of the
business. I was given opportunities that exceeded my expectations in youth. I got to
go meet my family in Hawaii and learn more about college, actually getting to
consider it now having the money to pay for it.
Cirque Du Soleil Thesis Statement
INQUIRY QUESTION:
How has Cirque du Soleil developed from a Canadian street group to a billion dollar
industry that changed Circus forever?
OBJECTIVE
I chose this topic because I think Cirque du Soleil is an inspiring and intriguing
business that not many people realize has Canadian roots. Also, this topic is
interesting to me so I thought I would enjoy the research process. I plan to elaborate
on how the business started as two street performers, who formed a billion dollar
company that now tours the world. Not only has it progressed, Cirque du Soleil has
reinvented the circus. Its shows feature multi talented performers, fantastic costumes
and live music. It has changed the world s perspective of the circus and has
captivated the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one of its most recent shows, four time Olympic skating champion Kurt Browning
was one of the main choreographers! Not to mention, all of these athletes are from
all over the world. In the whole company, Cirque du Soleil has about 5030 employees
6. Colourful Costumes
In the area of costume design, Cirque du Soleil has really raised the bar.
The traditional circus had costumes for each performer, but costumes and makeup
were typically very basic. On the other hand, Cirque du Soleil custom costumes are
designed to contribute to the overall theme of each individual show. Cirque du
Soleil s costumes have fancy details, colorful decorations, and even lights! For
example, in the show Amaluna, 130 costumes were worn, made of 800 different
materials. And if that s not enough, in the show Varekai, 130 costumes were made
over the course of 33,000 hours, and a team of 6 works 250 hours weekly to maintain
those costumes.
In addition, Cirque du Soleil has very dramatic makeup for each performer and
each segment of the show. From my interview with a former Cirque du Soleil
performer, Marin Debruyn, I learned that Cirque du Soleil also makes molds of
performer s faces to create 3D printed masks.

Nitration of Methylbenzoate
Nitration of Methyl Benzoate
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment was to synthesize methyl m Nitrobenzoate
from methyl benzoate, concentrated HNO3, and concentrated H2 SO4 by an
electrophilic substitution reaction. The H2 SO4 and the HNO3 were initially
combined to form nitronium ion which was then used as an electrophile in the
reaction. Crystals that were collected after the formation of the methyl m
Nitrobenzoate were collected by vacuum filtration and the product was isolated and
purified by recrystallization.
Reaction scheme:

When compared to the literature IR of methyl m nitrobenzoate
(chemicalbook.com), the experimental IR appears to be valid. This is because the
interested peaks are shown to be in its expected positions. The 2955.5 peak
indicates the presence of C H bond stretch of sp2. The 1730 peak indicates the C=O.
The 1535.1 indicates NO2 stretch. The TLC analyzed the polarity between methyl
benzoate, crude methyl 3 nitrobenzoate, and purified methyl 3 nitrobenzoate. The
solvent that was used was 20% ethyl acetate/hexane. Methyl benzoate had a higher
Rf value than the nitro benzoate indicating that methyl benzoate had low polarity.
Since the crude and pure product had close but not the same Rf values, it indicates
that the crude product contained a lot of the pure product before the recrystallization
took place. In addition, the 1H NMR indicated that the product was methyl 3
nitrobenzoate. The obtained 1H NMR corresponds to the literature 1H NMR (pg. 76
of manual). The number of peaks shows how many different H atoms are present in
the product. The splitting patterns confirmed the positions of the H atoms. There two
peaks, ~1.6 and 7.2, indicates the presence of the water and CDCI3 respectively.
However, the water only showed up at a very small concentration which indicates that
there was very little water present in the results. The triplet at ~7.65 indicates that the
split occurred between two H atoms should have been seen as a multiplet but rather

Synopsis and Objectives
In mid September 2005, Ashley Swenson, the chief financial officer (CFO) of a large
computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) equipment
manufacturer needed to decide whether to pay out dividends to the firm s
shareholders, or to repurchase stock. If Swenson chose to pay out dividends, she
would have to also decide upon the magnitude of the payout. A subsidiary question
is whether the firm should embark on a campaign of corporate image advertising,
and change its corporate name to reflect its new outlook. The case serves as an
omnibus review of the many practical aspects of the dividend and share buyback
decisions, including (1) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Or alternatively, Why pay any dividends?) How will Gainesboro s various
providers of capital, such as its stockholders and bankers, react to a declaration of no
dividend? What about the announcement of a 40% payout? How would they react to
a residual payout?
The instructor needs to elicit from the students the notions that the dividend payout
announcement may affect stock price and that at least some stockholders prefer
dividends. Students should also mention the signaling and clientele considerations.
4.What risks does the firm face?
Discussion following this question should address the nature of the industry, the
strategy of the firm, and the firm s performance. This discussion will lay the
groundwork for the review of strategic considerations that bears on the dividend
decision.
5.What is the nature of the share repurchase decision that Swenson must make? How
would this affect the dividend decision?
The discussion here must present the repercussions of a share repurchase decision on
the share price, as well as on the dividend question. Signaling and clientele
considerations must also be considered.
6.Does the stock market appear to reward high dividend payout? What about low
dividend payout? Does it matter what type of investor owns the shares? What is the
impact on share price of dividend policy?
The data can be interpreted to support either view. The point is to show that simple
extrapolations from stock market data are untrustworthy,
We Should Not Take Technology And Computer s
Usefulness...
We should not take technology and computer s usefulness for granted. Billions of
people use computers every day, yet only a fraction have the patience to understand
what they are doing. Or, the actual consequences of their actions and in turn cause
problems for themselves and others. As a result the same precautions that are made to
protect themselves are not applied when using a computer. More people need to treat
these computers as tools that can be used to make our lives and the world better
even if the world is changing, for better or worse. As such, people must learn what
a computer is to recognize it, what these computers need to stay maintained, and
how, as an individual, people must take control of their technology to bring
themselves into the modern world. Computers are defined in the Webster
dictionary as a programmable usually electronic device that can store, retrieve, and
process data. These could be anything from as small as calculators to cabinets the
size of buildings. They are well established into the daily lives of most of the
people in the world, if you tried to avoid computers entirely you would find it
difficult when your food is packaged with computers, cars are ran with computers,
odds are even your refrigerator has a computer in it. Check your food packaging,
most of the time there is a barcode on it. That means that the package had to be
scanned by computers many times before it reached your shelves. Even though
computers have
Reflection Paper On Dance
After choosing dance as my first topic, I had to then narrow down to a more specific
topic. I came to three different topics: the health benefits of dancing, the evolution of
dance throughout history, and life skills obtained through dance education. I decided
to select the last topic because I thought that it would be the easiest one that I could
have a personal connection with. With my research, I soon came to realize that I
would have to look at information that did not directly relate to dance, and that I
would have to make the connections myself. My goal was to find enough verified
information that could back up claims that my argument was based on.
Throughout my years as a student, I have been taught skills that helped me
complete this project to the best of my ability. Since elementary school, I have been
taught standard english conventions that helped me write my research paper, speech,
cover letter, resume, letter of intent, as well as this reflection paper. Once I entered
high school, my teachers have helped me refine these skills by helping me improve
my vocabulary and teaching me different ways of sharing my ideas. This project has
also taught me new skills that I can use in the future. Skills such as citing information
sources, finding research in a variety of forms, and writing a professional cover letter
that can go with my rГ©sumГ©.
I used almost all the skills that I was taught before to complete this project. I would
say that one of the biggest skills I

Fidel Castro Essay.pdf

  • 1. Fidel Castro Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of Fidel Castro can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in the extensive research required to understand the complex political and historical context surrounding Castro's life but also in presenting a nuanced and unbiased perspective. Fidel Castro's legacy is a topic of heated debate, with diverse opinions on his role in shaping Cuba's destiny and his impact on global geopolitics. To write a comprehensive essay, one must delve into Castro's early life, revolutionary activities, leadership of the Cuban Revolution, and subsequent rule. Analyzing the socio-economic changes, political ideologies, and international relations during his regime adds further layers of complexity. Moreover, addressing controversies such as human rights abuses, censorship, and the strained relationship with the United States demands careful consideration of various perspectives. Balancing the portrayal of Fidel Castro as a revolutionary hero and a dictator requires a delicate touch, as the subject is emotionally charged for many. A well-rounded essay should incorporate a broad range of sources, from historical accounts to scholarly analyses and personal testimonies. Striking a balance between facts, analysis, and personal reflection is crucial to providing readers with a comprehensive understanding of the subject. In conclusion, writing an essay on Fidel Castro requires navigating a labyrinth of historical events, conflicting viewpoints, and moral considerations. It is an intellectually demanding task that necessitates thorough research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. However, the process of unraveling the complexities of Castro's life and legacy can offer valuable insights into the challenges and contradictions of revolutionary leadership. • 2. Wilfred Owen s War Poetry Essay Wilfred Owen s War Poetry If Wilfred Owen s war poetry had one main aim, it would be to expose the old lie : that war is always a good and justified thing and that it is a good thing to die for one s country. Owen had experienced first hand the horrors and tragedies of the First World War, so he inevitably wanted to break open the false faГ§ade and let the world know the truth. I am going to explore what I find to be three of his best poems and show how he achieved this aim. Owen was born on the 18th of March 1893 in Shropshire, England. He received a good education as a child and in 1915 he enlisted in the army when he was 22 years old. He was injured in a shell explosion in France and transferred to a war hospital back in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Herbert Asquith wrote The Volunteer which was one of the most romanticised war poems of all time. It was about a young boy in a city grey with no lance broken , who goes to join the army. He dies but lies content and euphemistically goes to join the Men of Agincourt . These poems are incredibly full of euphemisms of war and mention no words like pain or death . But when poets who thought they could find glory and honour in war actually arrived at the battlefields everything changed and the anti war poems begun. Dulce Et Decorum Est is arguably Wilfred Owen s most famous poem. It uses very figurative language in order to describe the horrors of a gas attack on a few men while they are marching towards their distant rest . It is split up into three parts. The first part describes the men marching asleep towards their distant rest . The second part describes the gas attack. Most of them manage to get their gas masks on, but one man fumbles and drowns . In the third part Owen describes the horror of walking behind the wagon they flung him into and watching him slowly and painfully dying. He then addresses Jessie Pope as my friend and tells her that of she had seen what he saw; she would not tell the
  • 3. Why Launch an Advertising Campaign Why Launch An Advertising Campaign To start off, when your company is just becoming established in the British market, consumers will have no knowledge of your product, we must encourage or persuade the consumer to buy your product. To make customers aware of the product we must advertise. Large scale advertising mainly consists of advertising on TV, Radio, newspapers and other large scale media. This ensures that advertising reaches the largest amount of people in the shortest amount of time. It is likely that the consumer will be more interested in the product if they hear of on a national level such as TV or Radio. We must watch out for other companies in Britain that sell a similar product or overseas companies that sell in Britain so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only form mentioned that would not be suitable would be direct mailing, to which the general public refer to a junk mail. The question arises whether you would mail the children that are likely to want the product or whether to mail the parents that would buy the product for their children. If you were to mail the children then the parents could get very annoyed at the fact that you went directly to the children instead of through their guardians. Although if you were to mail the parents there would not be a very large chance that it would also reach the children, who would be the driving force of the sale of the product. Sales promotion or endorsements would be a good idea as this would ensure that more people heard about the product and it would be more appealing if a well known children s presenter was to endorse the product. Branding Multiple product branding would be the best idea for Pakanawa as with multiple branding the firm is not always known as the same one and with Pakanawa s toys, the different products under different brands could inhibit the sale of the other brands. With multiple product branding the company would be recognised as selling all these products and with a well established market this would benefit the company although multiple branding has one advantage over this, if the company has had bad publicity, with
  • 4. Should Andrew Jackson Be On The Twenty Dollar Bill... Should Andrew Jackson be on the Twenty Dollar Bill? Was Andrew Jackson a hero or a villain? Does he deserve to be on the twenty dollar bill? The things he did were appealing only for a few. This did not represent all of the United States. He did what was best for the majority of Americans. His ideas did not appeal to the rich and well born because his focus was farmers. The majority is not always what is right. Jackson s approach was very straight forward. He got rid of people he didn t agree with and hired people who had the same opinions as him. This led to abuses of political power designed to benefit and enrich the ruling party. A hero needs to listen to others and not just do what he wishes just because he has the ultimate power to do so. When the Cherokee s land case was taken to the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Marshall ruled that Georgia had no right in taking the Cherokee s land. Jackson vowed to ignore the Supreme Court s ruling. John Marshall has made his decision, Jackson reportedly said. Now let him enforce it. If a student maintains a beginner s mind, he/she shall be able to devote oneself to the new and complex theories developed by sociology. A bridge can learn all of the MAC addresses on the network, and this is done during the bridges data gathering phase. Basically a bridge will receive the data and analyze the address. The bridge will then pass the data on to the correct address. The ports on a bridge are in and out, but they are smart ports with the ability to locate the address on the network. Switches are much like a bridge where they can connect networks that use the same protocols. They are used to direct traffic over multiple networks. Some switches will check ... I would benefit in attending the seminar on fine tuning Ethernet networks. This seminar would help increase my knowledge pool. Seminars are times to learn new techniques and then apply to techniques to help my network run more optimal. I believe all Techs would greatly benefit from attending these seminars for the knowledge that they gain, and possibly from the people that they meet. Gaining this knowledge would help me do my job better and also help keep the SMPR network running smoothly. Ethernet is typically the technology that is used to allow computers locally to communicate with one another. Computers that are close to each other they are connected by Ethernet.
  • 7. Colin Powell Leadership Analysis This paper is a descriptive essay that explains in detail how or why Colin Powell s eighteen leadership principles pertains to me during phase II of 922A Warrant Officer Basic Course. I chose three leadership principals that I was able to identify with: (1) Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off. (2) You don t know what you can get away with until you try. (3) Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier. This paper describes my personal opinions and real life experiences that pertain to each of the three principals chosen. Three Leadership Principals from Colin Powell s Leadership Philosophy Being a leader, doing the right thing and living up to the army values are all things that society expects of a military officer. Leadership means to positively influence, motivate and provide your Soldiers with a sense of purpose to accomplish the mission to the highest standard. General Colin Powell has published both books and articles on leadership, specifically his eighteen principles of leadership. After reading through the eighteen principles I have chosen three that I am able to identify with and will discuss in detail how and why each principle pertains to me. The first principle I chose was, Being responsible sometimes means pissing people off. A quality leader shows responsibility for the welfare and well being of their Soldiers, which also inevitably means some people will get angry at decisions you make. Being a people pleaser is a trait
  • 8. Adolescence And Its Effects On Adult Behavior Essay Adolescence is a turbulent time in every individual s life, containing marked behavioral and biological changes as the brain rapidly develops into its mature form. This period overlaps with puberty, the process of attaining sexual maturation, and throughout its progression intricate differences between the two sexes are revealed that were not previously apparent. (Spear, 2000; TEXTBOOK) It is thought that adolescence is a necessary process, a period of transition through which individuals prepare for living independently in adulthood. Adolescents begin to emulate adult behaviors and seek novelty, with an inhibited regard for danger, as they accumulate the skills needed to provide for themselves. (Spear, 2000) There are several characteristics of adolescence that seem to make an individual more prone to experimenting with addictive druguse, to his or her potential detriment. These include: an increase in taking species specific risks, an overall rise in novelty seeking, and a particularly relevant phenomenon of finding peer interactions more socially rewarding than those conducted with an adult caretaker. (Spear, 2000) Partaking in illicit drugs is a clear form of risky behavior in human adolescents; children in developed countries are educated about the potential consequences of such misconduct, particularly those of abusing alcohol and/or tobacco. However, animal studies that compare drug use during development versus in adulthood provide evidence that adults will
  • 9. Life-Cycle Cost Analysis Life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) is a method for assessing the total cost of facility ownership. It takes into account all costs of acquiring, owning, and disposing of a building or building system. LCCA is especially useful when project alternatives that fulfill the same performance requirements, but differ with respect to initial costsand operating costs, have to be compared in order to select the one that maximizes net savings. For example, LCCA will help determine whether the incorporation of a high performance HVAC or glazing system, which may increase initial costbut result in dramatically reduced operating and maintenance costs, is cost effective or not. LCCA is not useful for budget allocation. Lowest life cycle cost (LCC) is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... LCCA can be repeated throughout the design process if more detailed cost information becomes available. Initially, construction costs are estimated by reference to historical data from similar facilities. Alternately, they can be determined from government or private sector cost estimating guides and databases. The Tri Services Parametric Estimating System (TPES) contained in the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) Construction Criteria Base (CCB) developed models of different facility types by determining the critical cost parameters (i.e., number of floors, area and volume, perimeter length) and relating these values through algebraic formulas to predict costs of a wide range of building systems, subsystems, and assemblies. The TPES models can be adapted to facilities beyond those included in the base modeling system by using SuccessEstimator, a software package available from U.S. Cost. Detailed cost estimates are prepared at the submittal stages of design (typically at 30%, 60%, and 90%) based on quantity take off calculations. These estimates rely on cost databases such as the Commercial Unit Price Book (C UPB) or the R. S. Means Building Construction Cost Database. Testing organizations such as ASTM International and trade organizations have reference data for materials and products they test or represent. Epigraph In Into The Wild By Jon Krakauer Chapter nine epigraph This epigraph represents the essence of Chris McCandless through Everett Ruess writings, expressing how they view life, choose to exist, and why the wilderness is so compelling to the both of them. Caused by hardships in his early life, Chris McCandless forms new beliefs about society that isolate him from civilization. Chris has family, friends, and companionship, but no one truly understands him and his need for escape. Everett Ruess asked, Do you blame me then for staying here, where I feel that I belong and am one with the world around me? Like Ruess, Chris had so few people with whom he could share the things meant so much to him; no one truly understood. While society is fastened on a train, set with pre determined stops along the way, Ruess and McCandless ride a train that leads to the unknown, because they would prefer anything to an anticlimax (87). ... • 11. Remember The Titans Movie And Movie Remember The Titans is a novel written by Steve Sullivan and is a film directed by Boaz Yakin. It talks about how Bill Yoast was the real life hero that changed the struggles of black and white high school football athletes to create a championship season in racially charged Alexandria, Virginia, in 1972. The plots and characters are the same in the movie and the book. Much of the movie s dialogue is taken directly from the book. However, there are many differences in the description of the characters relationships, the description of the decrease in racial tension, and the description of the increase in teamwork, unity, and pride. Early in the film, before training camp, both the white and black players were unhappy with integration. During the training, there was a scene of training players blocking and yelling at each other. Also, one of the football players took a screwdriver from his car and ran towards the demonstrators. However, the beginning of the story talks about Bill Yoast life. His father was a hobo, Tears filled my eyes as I realized hobo Yoast was on his way (Bill 2). Bill s first job was as a cotton picker, and he had to get up early to walk to the field. If you know anything about cotton then you know you gotta get pickin before the sun slaps you silly. It s an early morning thing that means you rise a few hours after the moon showed its face. At least I did because the cotton field where I was going to lived in the boonies (Bill 3). In 1943, Yoast
  • 12. Admiral Yi s Impact On East Asian History Few people in history are as influential yet obscure as Admiral Yi Sun shin. Admiral Yi was born in 1545 and died in battle in 1598. His exemplary performance as an admiral and his loyalty to his country were lauded by both Koreans and Japanese. Even westerners like Admiral George Alexander Ballard have acknowledged the brilliance of admiral Yi. Admiral Yi Sun shin had a significant impact on East Asian history through his defense of Korean independence, development of revolutionary naval combat tactics, and his legacy sparking Korean nationalism. The first and most obvious impact that Yi Sun shin had on history was his defence of Koreafrom Japan. If Japan had successfully defeated the Korean navy and gained control of the ocean Japan could... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Imjin Wars themselves drummed up nationalism in both Korea and Japan2. However for Korea in particular Yi was a potent symbol (Yi Sun shin 1998). One reason for his importance is that during his life he was not treated well by the Choson government. After fighting off the first Japanese invasion Yi was arrested and demoted to the lowest level in the military. Even after his humiliation and demotion at the hands of the government that he had saved he served devotedly in his station (Yi Sun shin 1998). Perhaps this was due to his confucian ethic or maybe it was due to his personal nationalism and loyalty to the Korean state Since that response was also redolent of Korean patriarchy and a host of prevailing social values as well as martial spirit and actually succeeded in driving off the invader, it was to earn him even greater accolades as a savior of his nation (Gilbert, 2017). Yi s status has also caused an annual festival to be held at the headquarters of the Korean navy to commemorate admiral Yi s accomplishments and to celebrate the blossoming of the cherry trees (Gilbert, 2017). Admiral Yi also has a national shrine that is 342,112 square meters. There are also several statues of Yi Sun shin in south Korea, the largest is in downtown Seoul (Gilbert, 2017). Based on his presence today it is clear to see that Yi had a lasting impact on Korean nationalism. Admiral Yi Sun shin

  • 16. The Negative Impacts Of Globalization The Negative Impacts of Globalization Across the world, globalization is one of the most significant aspects that has occurred over the last fifty years. It allows a country to integrate economically with other countries through a global network comprised of people, trade, and transportation. With the global landscape only becoming more intertwined, globalization and its inherent pros and cons seem to be here to stay. In many areas, global powers tend to lack in rectifying the negative aspects and only focus on the positive side. America, for example, is a leader in the globalization efforts, even though it has greatly effected job opportunities at home, widening income gaps, and an increased standard of living due to fluctuating world markets. America has been involved in globalization since before its conception as colonist relied heavily on trade. Osland states that even, during the 15th century, voyages were made by explorers who were funded by the European monarchs to seek new trade routes (Osland 137). The colonist eventually began trading with natives as they bartered for spices and treasures in exchange for anything that the natives deemed of use. Eventually, trade companies were established to control the flow of more products and it only expanded from there. After World War 2, world banks were created to help with the post war clean up and the global markets began to gain power as trade became a priority for most countries. A major globalization agenda is to

Coral Bleaching Dinoflagellates Coral bleaching is a broad yet complex topic that involves the mutualistic and obligate symbiosis between corals and dinoflagellate algae of the genus Symbiodinium, commonly referred to as zooxanthellae. Bleaching occurs when a significant concentration of the zooxanthellae are no longer fixed on the coral, which occurs due to an inability to perform their role (Wooldridge and Done 2009). With the often colorful dinoflagellate algaegone, the coral is left as a white carbonate skeleton (Douglas 2003). There are many effects, symptoms, and chemical changes that occur to arrive at that point; bleaching, therefore, can be thought of as a broad term describing the multiple different symptoms and mechanisms causing these deleterious responses of coral. These effects influence not only the endosymbiotic relationship of the corals and dinoflagellates but also the myriad of organisms that depend on the corals. In this paper, I will describe the complex nature of the causes, environmentally and mechanically, of bleaching and their effects on the ecosystem they inhabit. First, the main environmental causes of the effects of coral reef bleaching will be described, namely changes in water conditions. The specific damage to the coral reef will then be explored, looking deeply into the underlying biochemistry of the symbiotic relationship. Finally, the consequence... For the plethora of species that inhabit the corals, they provide food and shelter and tend to mitigate the competition and predation that occur in the ecosystems they are a part of; this moderation is due to the topographic complexity that many coral reefs display, facilitating the abundance of coral based niches (Garpe et al. 2006). This diversity in complexity means that a larger number of species and a larger abundance of each reef fish type can exist in the same

Gender Stereotypes And Gender Roles Gender roles are defined as the widely accepted societal expectations about how males and females should behave (Rathus, 2010).From gender roles, we, the people of society, are able to determine whether someone identifies as a male or a female. Both biological and social factors tend to determine what genderroles a person takes on. However, there are also gender stereotypes, which are the fixed and oversimplified beliefs about the ways in which men and women ought to behave (Rathus, 2010). Often times, gender stereotypes are related back to the traditional beliefs of when women were responsible for staying home and being the caregivers and men were responsible for going out to work and bringing home the food, supplies, and money that the family needed (Rathus, 2010). There are four main differences between the genders: physical, cognitive, personality, and behaviors. Physical differences are the most obvious differences between genders. Those differences come from the primary and secondary sexcharacteristics. The primary sex characteristics of females are their ovaries and males have testes. As far as secondary sex characteristics, females tend to have wider hips and smaller bodies and males tend to have more facial hair and deeper voices. Some cognitive differences between males and females are that males are often more superior in visual spatial abilities used in math, science, and map reading, and females are often more superior at writing, reading, and foreign

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a traditional point of view, humans are above animals, but the ability of the merchant to understand the animals defies the traditional hierarchy. This decentralization of the relationship between a human and an animal is significant in the fact that the words of a rooster end up influencing the actions of a person (the merchant). The rooster represents the traditional patriarchal concept of male superiority over female since he discusses a stern piece of advice with a dog, after he jumped on a hen and, finishing with her, jumped down and jumped on another (Haddawy, 19), displaying a behavior of control and disrespect over the opposite sex. The rooster indirectly advises the merchant, through his conversation with the dog, to fall on her (referring to the merchantВґs wife) (19) and beat her with an oak branch until she has no desire to question her husbandВґs actions. The merchant heeds the words of the rooster, and reestablishes the hierarchy of male over female dominance by using impulsive and violent animal like brutality. Yet, the hierarchy of human reason dominance over animalistic behavior was diminished after the merchant followed the advice of his cock. The Tale of the Merchant and the Demon also explores changes of hierarchies related to the crossing of human animal border. There are three elements that must be present in an experimental research design: (1)A relationship between two variables (2)A time order between the two variables (3)The relationships found cannot be the result of a confounding variable. (Muijs, 2010, p. 20). The relationship between two variables is either positive or negative. If they are positive, both variables are positive. For example, if there is increased political propaganda there is increased political bias. On the other hand, negative relationships between variables will have lower values on one variable while the other value will be higher. Time order, is explained by cause and effect. One variable precedes the other. For example, political propaganda causes political bias. The third element, confounding variables, means, the research question cannot be explained by a third variable (Muijs, 2010, p. 21). Experimental research design is chosen for this study using a randomized two group pretest posttest design. It is appropriate for this research because it satisfies the three requirements above. Experimental design maintains the most control over external elements. The research design will measure the bias by introducing a lesson containing political material to two stratified (Vogt (2007) sample random groups: controversial group and non controversial group. • 35. Punctuality And The American Capitalist Mentality Strict punctuality is perhaps the cheapest virtue which can give force to an otherwise utterly insignificant character. (J.F. Boyes) Punctuality is one of the cornerstones of the American Capitalist mindset. From birth, being on time is constantly stressed as a necessary skill that is needed to truly be successful in the world. Lateness is not a tolerated from school, work, and even outings with friends. Even for the most loyal friend and employee chronic failure to arrive on timecould lead to the demise of a relationship with the other party. No matter the excuse or reason Lateness is defined as arriving at a setting after the start of a scheduled event. (Harrison and Price 2003, p.205). Consequently immediately after the event starts or it passes the time someone either agreed or was told to be somewhere they are late. Mastery of this skill is not easily achieved which is self evident, as a majority of the population knows someone who is never on time, or may even be that individual themselves. Unfortunately people who are constantly late have a bad stigma associated with themselves. Adjectives like rude, inconsiderate, and lazy are constantly being thrown in their direction. Though the blame may be of no fault of their own. What causes this pattern of disregard for the strict standards everyone else listens to that time places? Ranging from early, on time, and late, the classification time sets on an arrival leaves little room for error if one still hopes to still be

Instances of various types of dance, singing, and speech are some elements of a Greek chorus. Composed of similarly costumed men, they performed on the orchestra located beneath the stage. The chorus stayed in the orchestra for the duration of the performance from which vantage point they observed and commented on the action of the characters. Oedipus is a play written by Sophocles, a respected playwright, and it is generally assumed that the main function of the Sophoclean chorus is a philosophical one; that it serves above all as the spokesman for a certain view of life. The chorus can be dramatic in the following ways: through the personality of the group forming the chorus and the appropriateness of their relationship to the action and the characters, through the iambic lines spoken by the coryphaeus, through physical participation in the action and through the choral songs. The chorus is an important component of the Greek Tragedy Oedipus. Aside from its responsibility to effectively represent the people of Thebes, the chorus in Oedipus has a powerful influence over audience perceptions and emotions. We decided this extension would be successful, as the allergy market is very small and had an entrenched competitor. Therefore, while we were aware of potential cannibalization, we believed that the targeted market (retirees, empty nesters, and young singles) would have sufficient demand for our product. We also reasoned that this target was far enough removed from Allround s to gain additional market share without taking any from Allround. However, this was not the case, as cannibalization was a pressing issue. Market share was gained at the expense of Allround. Price The AllStar brand was viewed as the premium brand on the market, this was reflected by the pricing schemes of Allround and Allround+. However, Allright was launched to be a flanker brand to capture market share from price sensitive consumers without hurting Allround s brand image. Allround and Allround+ were priced as high as possible within the bounds of the price effectiveness trade offs. This trade off was also the basis for Allright pricing decisions, however, we could never increase the price fast

The 1535.1 indicates NO2 stretch. The TLC analyzed the polarity between methyl benzoate, crude methyl 3 nitrobenzoate, and purified methyl 3 nitrobenzoate. The solvent that was used was 20% ethyl acetate/hexane. Methyl benzoate had a higher Rf value than the nitro benzoate indicating that methyl benzoate had low polarity. Since the crude and pure product had close but not the same Rf values, it indicates that the crude product contained a lot of the pure product before the recrystallization took place. In addition, the 1H NMR indicated that the product was methyl 3 nitrobenzoate. The obtained 1H NMR corresponds to the literature 1H NMR (pg. 76 of manual).
