This document analyzes the performance of the Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP) in mobile ad hoc networks using the OPNET simulator. It provides an overview of ZRP, including that it is a hybrid routing protocol that uses a proactive approach within routing zones and a reactive approach between zones. The document describes simulating ZRP with 20, 40, and 60 nodes and measuring its throughput, load, data dropped, and delay. The results showed that as node count increased, ZRP's throughput, load, and data dropped increased, while delay also rose with more nodes. ZRP thus performed best with fewer nodes and worse with more nodes in the simulated mobile ad hoc networks.

There are so many types of indicating phenomenon such as vibration, heat, debris in oil, noise and sounds which emanate from these in efficiently running machines. This paper presents the vibration related fault identification and maintenance of belt conveyor systems (BCS). After analyzing the spectrum and vibration readings, it was observed that a combination of parallel and angular misalignment between motor & gear box was present causing high axial and radial vibration. The defect was rectified by mechanical maintenance activities and latter the vibration was found reduced within limit. Also the vibration readings were taken after rectification. The above results are presented in this paper.
1) The document discusses using discrete wavelet transforms to analyze vibration signals from roller bearings to detect faults. It proposes a new feature - summing the squared wavelet decomposition coefficients at each level - and compares it to the traditional energy-based feature.
2) An experiment is described where vibration signals are collected from a test rig under normal conditions and with introduced inner race, outer race, and combined faults. The signals are decomposed using discrete wavelet transforms.
3) Features are then extracted from the wavelet decompositions using both the proposed summed squared coefficient feature and the traditional energy-based feature. A decision tree is used to classify the features and determine which feature performs better at detecting the faults.
Abstract: Gear roll testers are used to measure and analyse functional performance of gears. Gear testing is a technique that has been used in the gear industry to identify potential manufacturing defects in the design intent of the gear. It is a practical, fast and effective screening tool that can identify when the gear manufacturing process has deviated from an ideal condition that could result in a change in backlash, or an unwanted noise and vibrations in a gear mesh therefore, in the present work it was decided to develop a gear roll tester to analyse effects of different types of defects in gear on its functional performance in terms of run out, pitch errors, backlash, profile errors, noise and vibration. For the present work a spur was selected with the specifications matching with the gear used in automobiles. A test rig was designed and developed for the functional testing of spur gears. Various components were designed and selected according to the standard design procedure. The test rig was fabricated with very high accuracy. Gears with different types of defects were tested on the test rig to ensure the accuracy of it. This test rig is an important tool to the gear manufacturer to test the gears for their functional performance. The test rig can be used further to analyse noise and vibrations along with a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analyser.

Experimental Analysis of Vibration Control in Boring Operation using Passive ...IRJET Journal
This document summarizes an experimental study on using passive dampers to control vibration during boring operations. Boring bars are prone to chatter vibrations due to their cantilever shape. Nylon and Teflon dampers were inserted onto boring bars to reduce displacement, temperature, and tool wear. Experiments were conducted varying cutting speed, depth of cut, and feed rate. Vibration, temperature, and surface roughness were measured with and without dampers. Results showed that both Nylon and Teflon dampers significantly reduced acceleration compared to without dampers, with Teflon generally performing best. The dampers improved damping and helped minimize vibration-related issues during boring.

Abstract
Circular arc bionic non-smooth concave surface is used in friction driving. The frictional contact performance between circular
arc bionic non-smooth concave surface and contact area is critical role for the mechanical drive of equipment whole. In this
paper through orthogonal polynomial regression experiments, the influence of diameter, distribution density and height of the
coating layer unit of circular arc non-smooth bionic concave on the friction coefficient is studied. The regression equation
between the non-smooth geometric parameters of the circular arc bionic non-smooth concave surface and the frictional
coefficient is obtained by experiment, and get the optimal solution by optimization analysis of regression equation. The
experiment result shows that circular arc bionic non-smooth concave surface can increase the driving force and improve the
transmission efficiency

Maintenance is a set of organised activities that are carried out in order to keep an item in its best
operational condition with minimum cost acquired. Predictive maintenance (PdM) is one of the maintenance
program that recommends maintenance decisions based on the information collected through condition
monitoring techniques, statistical process control or equipment performance for the purpose of early detection
and elimination of equipment defects that could lead to unplanned downtime of machinery or unnecessary
expenditures. Particularly Gears and rolling element bearings are critical elements in rotating machinery, so
predictive maintenance is often applied to them. Fault signals of gearboxes or rolling-element bearings are nonstationary.

Strain sensors for strain measurement: A ReviewIJEEE
Structural health monitoring (SHM) is a technology used for the safety assurance of mechanical, aerospace, building structure and human life. By periodical inspection using embedded sensors like piezorestive sensor, the optical fiber sensor a SHM system can provide advanced warnings that prevent structural failures or damage. Strain is one of the most important mechanical parameters acquired by SHM systems. The factors that could potentially cause structural failures or excessive loading, vibration, foundation damages, crack development and environmental aging, etc. By monitoring strain changes in load-bearing structures the failure can be avoided. Various strains sensors have been developed. A detailed review of different strain sensing mechanisms can be found in this paper. The most commonly used strain sensor is the piezoresistive thin-film strain gauge, made using semiconductor. On the other hand, Optical fiber- based strain sensors are an attractive choice of sensor for SHM systems. OFS has characteristics like small size, light in weight, remote monitoring, ability to multiplex and immune to electromagnetic interferences.

IRJET- Influence of Noise and Testing Vibration to Comfort in Diesel Engi...IRJET Journal
This document discusses research into the influence of noise and vibration on passenger comfort in idling diesel engine cars. Researchers conducted tests where subjects were exposed to noise, vibration, or both, and asked to evaluate sound, vibration, or overall annoyance. The results showed that vibration has a small but significant influence on sound perception. When evaluating overall annoyance, some subjects based their judgments mostly on vibration while others considered noise more important. Reducing noise and vibration in vehicles requires approaches like decreasing source strengths, interrupting transmission paths, and absorbing energy. The interaction of sound and vibration is complex and depends on stimulus levels and ranges.
Parametric study on an industrial structure for various dynamic loadseSAT Journals
Abstract
Industrial machinery produce vibrations during its operation. Vibrations are transmitted to structure. However, an industrial structure is designed for these dynamic effects. But there are some dynamic effects which still to be considered. Those are, wind, earth quake and accidental blast loads. Though these loads are not frequent, but its occasional appearance will destroy the structure. An industry with thousands of labours, if gets these occasional dynamic effect, then it might result in much fatal. Therefore an industrial structure must be designed in such a way, that it resists the force created by these dynamic effects and dissipates in a better manner. This study is a numerical analysis of an industrial structure, subjected to wind, earthquake and blast load. The results are compared for severity, and the remedial measures shall be discussed. By adopting the remedial measures, the analysis shall be performed again and the effects will be compared with the earlier results of a normal structure. Drafting software Auto CAD is used for modelling the structure and SAP 2000 analysis software will be used for dynamic analysis. The purpose of this research project work is to study and understand the behavior of structure for dynamic loadings.

Groundwater investigation using geophysical methods a case study of pydibhim...eSAT Publishing House
This document summarizes the results of a geophysical investigation using vertical electrical sounding (VES) methods at 13 locations around an industrial area in India. The VES data was interpreted to generate geo-electric sections and pseudo-sections showing subsurface resistivity variations. Three main layers were typically identified - a high resistivity topsoil, a weathered middle layer, and a basement rock. Pseudo-sections revealed relatively more weathered areas in the northwest and southwest. Resistivity sections helped identify zones of possible high groundwater potential based on low resistivity anomalies sandwiched between more resistive layers. The study concluded the electrical resistivity method was useful for understanding subsurface geology and identifying areas prospective for groundwater exploration.

Can fracture mechanics predict damage due disaster of structureseSAT Publishing House
This document discusses how fracture mechanics can be used to better predict damage and failure of structures. It notes that current design codes are based on small-scale laboratory tests and do not account for size effects, which can lead to more brittle failures in larger structures. The document outlines how fracture mechanics considers factors like size effect, ductility, and minimum reinforcement that influence the strength and failure behavior of structures. It provides examples of how fracture mechanics has been applied to problems like evaluating shear strength in deep beams and investigating a failure of an oil platform structure. The document argues that fracture mechanics provides a more scientific basis for structural design compared to existing empirical code provisions.

bearing zone. How the operation of a machine does not work a
single force as a source of vibration and elastic waves as the
transfer can be done in several ways, it is obvious that the
vibration response to various requests can become very
complicated. Interpretation requires not only experience, data
and information on features satisfactory vibration of the
machine, but also the application of selection criteria and
assessing the coincidence calculation - experiment.
2. VIBRATION MONITORING AND DIAGNOSIS
Surveillance equipment in operation and exploitation
machines specific process operating parameters, vibration,
temperature, etc.., Is recognized as an important way to
increase the reliability, operating efficiency, reduce production
and operating costs. For use or installation of monitoring
systems is to check normality operation, to detect deviations
potential "problems" and to provide information, decision
support and interventions to disconnect or shutdown and for
diagnosis.
A series of possible failures in the operation of oil extraction
plants, covered monitoring is indicated in Table 1, in
connection with their development or evolution of the entire
system for the damage and disruption. It should be noted that
methodological separation gradual failure sudden failure time
depends not only objective but also the processing of data for
monitoring the conditions of the system, etc. surveillance by
man. Thus, a sudden failure can occur in seconds, but in hours,
a gradual failure in minutes but in months.

3. SOURCES OF VIBRATION AND NOISE GEARS
Usually, gears are the most important sources of noise and
vibration from mechanical machinery structure, with a
significant weight in determining the overall noise and
vibration. The strong growth in power and speed of modern
machines, while reducing gauge, may cause a worsening of
behavior vibroacustice gear transmissions, especially when in
the design, construction and installation were not pursued in
this optimization criteria of view.
To adopt appropriate measures against vibration and noise
transmission through the gears must be made acoustic
behavior analysis simultaneously with the vibration behavior
analysis.
Priority Way vibration and noise control measures a constiutie
active protection because if a reduced dynamic response
increases the durability of components (elements to reduce
wear and fatigue relative moving equipment or destruction of
dynamic overload) and at the same time increase the
effectiveness of passive protection, Tab.2.

Fig.1. Typical failure rate of bearings
Bearing vibration and noise caused by acts or by direct effects,
sound or vibration radiation, or by indirect effects. Direct
effects is found especially in terms of technological research
and testing on appropriate stands. Mounted bearings are used
in machinery or equipment in a whole, in these conditions,
there is both direct effects and, to a greater extent, indirect
effects the other elements (trees, housing, etc.) or kinematic
couplings, excited by vibration bearings, source path receiver.
In bearings, vibration and noise generation has the following
causes:
- Change position in the loaded rolling bodies, namely the
unposted bearing about the size and number of rolling bodies,
elastic deformations of contact work and play, while changing
the position of the contacts, load, periodically changes the
contact stiffness and the system, favoring the occurrence of
type vibration parameters;
- Uneven movement of rolling bodies, due to different
applications depending on position, this movement also lead to
uneven friction and collisions of bodies rolling with rings or
cage;
- Establish contacts with rolling surfaces with deviations
dimensional form andPosition: differences in diameter, front
or radial beat taxiways, eccentric, oval, poligonalitate,
corrugations, roughness;
Moving bodies rolling over the buttons placed impurities or
defects or damage over localized (pinching type peeling or
pitting, abrasive wear, fingerprints, etc.).

6. VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF CENTRIFUGAL
PUMPS
The pump is a machine which converts mechanical energy
received from a driving source (for example, an electric
motor) hydraulic energy. Transport of the liquid by the pump
can only be achieved in a hydraulic system. Such a system
typically consists of: pipes, fittings, meters and of course the
pump, as the main element.
Fig. 4 Construction of centrifugal pumps
Fluid enters the pump through the conduit aspiraţie1. The
rotor 2 is fixed to the arborele3. By turning the rotor is spun
on its outskirts water where the water is collected in room 6
and headed to discharge spiral 7 in speaker 5. The water exits
through the high-pressure pipe 4 in Figure 4.Causes wear
Functional parameters of a pump do not keep constant values
throughout her life. This is explained by the fact that the parts
which comprise pump wear over time. If nature centrifugal
pumps wear parts is of two types:
• Mechanical;
• Cleaning.
Whatever the nature of wear, it has the effect of changing
geometric shapes of the parts, which are ultimately reflected in
the modification of the hydraulic pump functional parameters
(flow, pressure, pump head)
Assemblies that wear out frequentlyCentrifugal pumps, parts
most exposed to wear, both abrasive and corrosive are:
• Rotor;
•Bearings and measuring point 1,2 ;
• The shaft protection sleeve;
• Mechanical seal;
• Soft linings;
• Camps.
During unit shutdown to perform maintenance stage wear is
found and pass the parts replaced. For vibration analysis

Rules Concerning the correct measurement:
Always on bearings;
Is Measured in three directions (H, V, A);
The sensor firmly attached to the field;
Using the same numbering system on all machines measured
bearing;
Using the setting for the type of measurement.When it is
found that the vibration level reached in the "more acceptable"
maintenance team is warned. When the vibrations exceed the
maximum permissible value is necessary to stop the machine,
its removal to determine the causes of vibration and then
repair the fault.
Preventive maintenance involves periodic measurements of
vibration and noise from the bearings and comparing the
measured values with the prescribed equipment manufacturer
or standards.
Predictive maintenance is a qualitative leap higher in modern
maintenance systems, regardless of the specific industry or
production, as it provides all information necessary to: earlier
detection of faults occur, their location, fault diagnosis,
lifetime calculation in safe equipment.

Vibration measurement will indicate if the vibration rms is
normal, still admissible or inadmissible, but we will provide
information on what is defective and where it is located. Their
values, compared with the permissible levels recommended by
the manufacturer or dynamic machine ISO 2372 and ISO
10816, figure 4, and indicate that the machine works safely.

The result is the assurance of design integrity prior to
equipment installation and use. MechRel then extends these
cost savings to actual equipment usage through early
identification of an optimum maintenance philosophy;logistics
support requirements and real time calculations of remaining
life.
MechRel is used to perform different types of reliability
analyses of mechanical designs and determine logistics
support requirements. Using MechRel saves considerable
expense during the early development phase by determining
the reliability, availability and maintainability characteristics
long before the expensive "test analyze and fix" phase of
design development.
MechRel is an enhancement to any platform analysis. It
provides a more accurate determination of failure event
probabilities, probabilities of occurrence for individual failure
modes, and supports the transition from hard time
maintenance to conditioning monitoring and condition based
maintenance. For example, CDNSWC engineers have
demonstrated the use of MechRel remaining life equations for
an automated diagnostic and prognostic system.

CONCLUSIONS
Centrifugal pumps are machines that convert mechanical
energy into hydraulic energy by the active part (rotor), with
different structural forms: single-stage, multistage horizontal
or vertical multistage multistage oblique.
The main causes of wear centrifugal pumps may be of
mechanical or chemical nature and the parts most affected are:
rotor, bearings, shaft protection sleeve, soft gaskets, and
mechanical seals labirintii.
Vibrations caused by mechanical weakening trees are the most
dangerous because they lead to additional demands by shock
shaft and bearings.

Diagnosis of mechanical loosening vibration analysis method
has several advantages such as reducing maintenance costs,
increased operational safety, reduce wear in bearings etc.
Vibration on bearings is one of the global indicators of quality,
they manifested either by direct effects or by indirect effects.
With measurements of vibration can cause defects such as
dynamic imbalance, poor alignment, games and weakening,
specific defects of bearings, etc.
In vibration analysis performed on three types of centrifugal
pumps, namely: single-stage pump, horizontal multistage
pumps with four rotors and ten horizontal multistage pump
impellers, it follows that these machines do not require repair
surgery because the vibrations are within the limits prescribed.
