1) The document discusses using discrete wavelet transforms to analyze vibration signals from roller bearings to detect faults. It proposes a new feature - summing the squared wavelet decomposition coefficients at each level - and compares it to the traditional energy-based feature.
2) An experiment is described where vibration signals are collected from a test rig under normal conditions and with introduced inner race, outer race, and combined faults. The signals are decomposed using discrete wavelet transforms.
3) Features are then extracted from the wavelet decompositions using both the proposed summed squared coefficient feature and the traditional energy-based feature. A decision tree is used to classify the features and determine which feature performs better at detecting the faults.

The neural network based approaches a feed forward neural network trained with Back Propagation technique was used for automatic diagnosis of defects in bearings. Vibration time domain signals were collected from a normal bearing and defective bearings under various speed conditions. The signals were processed to obtain various statistical parameters, which are good indicators of bearing condition, then best features are selected from graphical method and these inputs were used to train the neural network and the output represented the bearing states. The trained neural networks were used for the recognition of bearing states. The results showed that the trained neural networks were able to distinguish a normal bearing from defective bearings with 83.33 % reliability. Moreover, the network was able to classify the bearings into different states with success rates better than those achieved with the best among the state-of-the-art techniques.

The braking process used on railroad cars is known to create tensile stresses in the circumferential direction due to the thermal expansion and subsequent cooling of the wheel rim. This tensile stress can significantly accelerate the growth of small cracks on the rolling surface which can cause a spall or catastrophic failure
of the wheel under load. By periodically evaluating the tensile stress, railroad companies can prevent wheel failures and derailments that can be extremely dangerous and costly. application of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Wavelet Transform (WT) for the prediction of the
effect of the combined faults of unbalance and bearing clearance on the frequency components of
vibration signature of the rotating machinery. The experimental data of frequency components and
corresponding Root Mean Square (RMS) velocity (amplitude) data are used as inputs to train the ANN,
which consists of a three-layered network. The ANN is trained using an improved multilayer feed forward
back propagation Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. In particular, an overall success rates achieved were
99.78% for unbalance, 99.81% bearing clearance, and 99.45% for the combined faults of unbalance and
bearing clearance. The wavelet transform approach enables instant to instant observation of different

three general tasks data acquisition, feature extraction and fault identification. This method is tested
successfully for individual and combined faults of unbalance and bearing clearance at a success rate of

A real time instrumentation approach for bridges and tunnelsDerya Dinçer
Among all civil engineering structures, bridges & tunnels are two of the leading types that should be monitored by sensors due to their critical fatigue and creep behavior. Especially natural events such as earthquakes, floods, storms increase the importance of monitoring. A number of different types of instruments and sensors should be combined in health monitoring of railway/highway bridges, tunnels, tube crossings and subways. Although customization has a big importance in a specific health monitoring instrumentation project of a bridge or tunnel, accelerometers, strain/crack gauges, tilt, wind and temperature sensors are the most generally preferred sensors.

The field of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) has shown tremendous growth in the last half century. Its ability to provide safe volumetric inspection of materials with limited access areas makes ultrasonic testing (UT) one of the fastest growing technique in NDT.

Because air limits the transfer of ultrasound, the transducers need to be coupled to the material using a liquid that promotes the transfer of energy into the material.

Study Of The Fault Diagnosis Based On Wavelet And Fuzzy Neural Network For Th...IJRES Journal
In the fault diagnosis of the motor, the vibration signals can fully reflect the status of the motor. In this paper, on the basis of wavelet packet fault feature extraction, a new approach for motor fault diagnosis based on wavelet packet analysis and fuzzy RBF neural network was presented. The method gains the energy of characteristic channel of bearing failure vibration signals of asynchronous motor, which adopts the technology of wavelet packet analysis. It also composes the characteristics of the vector as input of fuzzy RBF neural network, used to diagnose the induction motor bearing failures. The method overcomes the slow convergence, a long training time, local minimum problems when using BP neural network. Experimental results shows that using fuzzy RBF neural network can improve the accuracy of the motor fault diagnosis.

program that recommends maintenance decisions based on the information collected through condition
monitoring techniques, statistical process control or equipment performance for the purpose of early detection
and elimination of equipment defects that could lead to unplanned downtime of machinery or unnecessary

Fault diagnosis of rolling element bearings using artificial neural network IJECEIAES
Bearings are essential components in the most electrical equipment. Procedures for monitoring the condition of bearings must be developed to prevent unexpected failure of these components during operation to avoid costly consequences. In this paper, the design of a monitoring system for the detection of rolling element-bearings failure is proposed. The method for detecting and locating this type of fault is carried out using advanced intelligent techniques based on a perceptron multilayer artificial neural network (MLP-ANN); its database uses statistical indicators characterizing vibration signals. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated using experimentally obtained bearing vibration data, and the results have shown good accuracy in detecting and locating defects.
diagnosis of faults in bearings is very crucial for the reliable. This paper focuses on fault diagnosis of induction motor
bearing having localized defects using Daubechies wavelets-based feature extraction. In present study Machinery Fault
Simulator (MFS) test rig used for fault diagnosis of NSK-6203 deep groove ball bearing. Vibration signals collected from
the various bearing conditions- healthy bearing (HB), outer race defect (ORD), inner race defect (IRD), ball defect (BD)
and combined bearing defect (CBD). The extraction of statistical features carried out using various Daubechies wavelet
coefficients from raw vibration signals. Lastly, the bearing faults are classified using these statistical features as input to
Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique used for faults classifications. The test result shows that ANN identifies the
fault categories of rolling element bearing more accurately for Db4 and has a better diagnosis performance as compared to
other Daubechies wavelets with ANN classifier.

Acoustic emission condition monitoring an application for wind turbine fault...eSAT Journals
Abstract Low speed rotating machines which are the most critical components in drive train of wind turbines are often menaced by several technical and environmental defects. These factors contribute to mount the economic requirement for Health Monitoring and Condition Monitoring of the systems. When a defect is happened in such system result in reduced energy loss rates from related process and due to it Condition Monitoring techniques that detecting energy loss are very difficult if not possible to use. However, in the case of Acoustic Emission (AE)technique this issue is partly overcome and is well suited for detecting very small energy release rates. Acoustic Emission (AE) as a technique is more than 50 years old and in this new technology the sounds associated with the failure of materials were detected. Acoustic wave is a non-stationary signal which can discover elastic stress waves in a failure component, capable of online monitoring, and is very sensitive to the fault diagnosis. In this paper the history and background of discovering and developing AE is discussed, different ages of developing AE which include Age of Enlightenment (1950-1967), Golden Age of AE (1967-1980), Period of Transition (1980-Present). In the next section the application of AE condition monitoring in machinery process and various systems that applied AE technique in their health monitoring is discussed. In the end an experimental result is proposed by QUT test rig which an outer race bearing fault was simulated to depict the sensitivity of AE for detecting incipient faults in low speed high frequency machine. Index Terms: Low speed rotating machine, and Condition Monitoring Systems, Acoustic Emission (AE)

Mems Based Motor Fault Detection in Windmill Using Neural NetworksIJRES Journal
Today wind turbine technology is one of the fastest growing power generation technologies operating in large numbers at harsh and difficult environment sites and it is difficult to monitor each and every windmill separately. There are times when faults occur in motors of windmills are not detected in earlier stage and we come to know about damage when motor gets fully damaged. Here we using wireless monitoring based on MEMS accelerometer sensor which senses the vibrations occurring in the motor and based on the severity of vibrations, sensor sends the data to the controlling unit to take further action. Neural network based work is included to get the accurate and precise vibratory signals to detect fault at a very early stage to avoid full damage to the motor.

Conditioning Monitoring of Gearbox Using Different Methods: A ReviewIJMER
Gears are important element in a variety of industrial applications such as machine tool
and gearboxes. An unexpected failure of the gear may cause significant economic losses. For that
reason, fault diagnosis in gears has been the subject of intensive research. Vibration signal analysis
has been widely used in the fault detection of rotation machinery. Fault diagnosis plays an important
role in condition monitoring to enhance the machine time. In view of this, the present investigation
focused on the development of Fault diagnosis system of gearboxes based on the vibration signatures
and Artificial Neural Networks. In the present investigation to generate the vibration signatures an
experimental set-up has been fabricated with sensing and measuring equipment. The prominent faults,
wear, crack, broken tooth and insufficient lubrication of the gear were practically induced in the
present investigation. Vibration signatures of the gearbox were collected by transmitting the motion at
constant speed with gears having no fault, without applying any load. By inducing one fault at a time,
vibration signatures were collected with different degrees of wear on a gear tooth, a gear with a
broken tooth, tooth with crack and with insufficient lubrication. As the vibration data of maximum
amplitudes was found to be inseparable, fault diagnosis based on this data was not possible. Five
prominent statistical features were extracted based on data pertaining to maximum amplitudes of
vibration and used fault diagnosis. Due overlapping of this data, it was decided to use ANN based
fault diagnosis system for the present investigation. The set of statistical features were extracted based
on data pertaining to maximum amplitudes of vibration and used them as input parameters to the
ANN based fault diagnosis system designed.

Development of a Condition Monitoring Algorithm for Industrial Robots based o...IJECEIAES
Signal processing plays a significant role in building any condition monitoring system. Many types of signals can be used for condition monitoring of machines, such as vibration signals, as in this research; and processing these signals in an appropriate way is crucial in extracting the most salient features related to different fault types. A number of signal processing techniques can fulfil this purpose, and the nature of the captured signal is a significant factor in the selection of the appropriate technique. This chapter starts with a discussion of the proposed robot condition monitoring algorithm. Then, a consideration of the signal processing techniques which can be applied in condition monitoring is carried out to identify their advantages and disadvantages, from which the time-domain and discrete wavelet transform signal analysis are selected.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
