The Vermont Online Library Use in the library Use anywhere you have the internet Find articles, reference books, and medical information
Use  http://www.vtonlinelib.org  to find the website for your library
Log on from home or work with the web address and password
Type your key words into the Search Box on the left, click Search, and…
Results appear in separate folders by type (magazines, books, news)
 
Looking at results Each folder has results listed from most recent to older Click on the article to read it Use the red TOOLS to work with the individual article
 
E-mail one item, a list of many, or the item citations
Search options Several different ways to search  All offer the Tools to send or print results Practice to become a better searcher Use HELP for assistance any time
Basic Search: use keywords to find results. Good for proper names
Subject Search uses subject instead of key word. Often a better overview
Publication Search takes you to the magazine or newspaper to start

Advanced Search = many options for linking search concepts
Don’t forget HELP HELP has excellent support for PowerSearch Options which explains much more fully how each search works Use HELP to find out about Boolean searching and wildcards
We’ve seen the databases linked for quick cross searching
