Vajikarana and sexology are often misunderstood as the same, but they differ in important ways. Vajikarana, an Ayurvedic practice, aims to facilitate potent offspring through purification and the use of herbal remedies to enhance male sexual function and semen production. Its goal is healthy progeny. Sexology, a modern science, views sex as a pleasurable act between consenting partners that does not necessarily lead to reproduction. While both involve sexual relations, their purposes and approaches differ.
