GERMICIDAL UV-C
LIGHTING
Benefits, Applications & Features
Author: Luke Hill
WHAT IS GERMICIDAL UV-C?
 Providing a safe indoor environment can seem like a daunting task in
the midst of a global pandemic. Germicidal UV-C technology is at the
forefront of solutions by providing a cost-effective, time-efficient, and
an environmentally friendly way to kill COVID-19 in its tracks, as well as
many other pathogens. UV-C technology is a proven approach to knock
out viruses and bacteria without the use of costly chemicals that may
have potential side effects.
 This is a new lighting technology that has been tested and proven to
attack COVID-19 and create clean, safe spaces for almost all
applications.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
 Low capital and operation cost
 Environmentally friendly
 No harmful effect when overdosed on surfaces, water or air
 Works instantly, and the effectiveness does not depend on the
temperature
 No substances are added
 This is a much safer solution than exposing customers or workspaces to
hazardous or dangerous chemicals.
FEATURES
 Ultraviolet technology is a non-chemical approach to disinfection. It is a
“turn-key” solution that makes the process simple, inexpensive, and
requires very little maintenance.
 UV-C radiation will disinfect anything in or around the light’s path,
deactivating bacteria and viruses in the air, as well as on and around
surfaces.
 Very important to note that out of the electro-magnetic spectrum there are
three wave lengths of ultraviolet light. UV-C, the most effective of the three,
deactivates the DNA and RNA of bacteria, virus, and other pathogens;
destroying their ability to replicate.
3 WAVELENGTHS OF LIGHT**
 Short wavelength UV-C includes the germicidal wavelength of 253.7nm
and is the most effective wavelength for germicidal disinfection. Proper
PPE and safety are to be implemented when using UV-C.
 Medium wavelength UV-B is a more dangerous band of UV and
prolonged exposure has been associated with skin cancer, skin aging
and cataracts.
 Long wavelength UV-A is more predominant outdoors than the other
two, helping to tan our skin and is used in medicine to treat certain skin
disorders.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
 The speed and efficacy of Germicidal UV-C technology will save you
time and money over other solutions currently on the market.
 Eliminates human error
 Removes an added task from employees’ plates
 Lowers custodial costs
 Cuts costs on harmful and hard to find cleaning products
 Disinfects ALL viruses and bacteria
 Improves peace of mind for everyone
WHO & WHERE IS THIS USED?
 Schools
 Hospitals
 Hotels
 Airports
 Retail Spaces
 Entertainment Venues
 Offices
 Warehouses
 Gyms
 Retirement Centers
