Australian Institute Of Health And Welfare
Like many healthcare systems around the world, Australia has a complex system in place for the
funding healthcare to meet the needs of its citizens. According to the Australian Institute of Health and
Welfare (AIHW), in 2011 12 Australia spent an estimated $140.2 billion on healthcare, accounting for
approximately 9.5% of the gross domestic product (AIHW, 2014). Australia has seen substantial
growth in the cost of healthcare over the last decade due to an aging population, increased prevalence
of chorionic conditions, changes in personal incomes, technology, and other economic trends (AIHW,
2014). Government sources account for the bulk of all healthcare funding, with the Australian
Government contributing 42.4%, and state and territory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to fund the Medicare program, the Australian Government leverages a mixture of funding
sources such as a general tax revenue, patient payments, state level funding, and other private sources.
According to The Commonwealth Fund, the Australian Government funds 43% of all expenditure,
with other levels of government contributing 25%, out of pocket payments contributing 17%, and the
remaining 15% coming from private sources such as private healthcare coverage (2015). In order for
the Australian Government to subsidize such a healthcare program, residents of Australia bear a 2%
Medicare levy of their taxable income (Australian Tax Office, 2015).
According to Australia s Private Health Insurance Ombudsman (PHIO), in order to alleviate some of
the burden on the Australian Government, the Medicare Levy Surcharge is applied to payers who do
not have private hospital coverage and earn above a certain income level (PHIO, n.d.). The Medical
Levy Surcharge was created to encourage individuals to use the private healthcare system in order to
reduce the demand on the public Medicare system. The Medical Levy Surcharge is an income driven
fee calculated at a rate of 1.0% 1.5% of an individual s income level for those earning above a
specified income, which is meant in incentivize those with the means to do so to carry private hospital
coverage (PHIO, n.d.). Many private coverage options also include coverage for services not

Essay on Book Report for Rifleman Dodd
1 BOOK REPORT Name: Smith, Stephen Grade: LCpl Date: Section: . Book Title: Rifleman Dodd
Author: C.S. Forester Why I chose this book: Originally this book was given to me by on of my
combat instructors in Marine Combat Training(MCT). I wanted to read it but soon found it impossible
due to certain time constraints. I lost the book during the transition from M.O.S. school to my current
residence. Just recently, I obtained another copy of this book from a fellow Marine who currently
works in the same shop. Give a brief description about this book: Rifleman Dodd is a novel written on
the account of a certain British foot soldier of the Ninety Fifth Foot named Matthew Dodd who

While sabotaging the city he was able to sneak through its gates undetected and set fire to the bridge s
ropes. Tactical lessons learned from this book: A few of the tactical lessons I learned from rifleman
Matthew Dodd include proper concealment, guerrilla warfare like maneuvers, keeping a safe distance
from enemy forces, absolute military bearing, and choosing your targets wisely, as well as, knowing
when to fire at those targets. Furthermore, Dodd was very successful with remaining undetected at
opportune moments, as well as, knowing exactly when to increase the distance from the enemy. What
impressed me most was his ability to successfully communicate with allied forces who didn t
necessarily speak his language. He used hand and arm signals to pantomime and gesture what it was
he was trying to get across to his comrades. This trait would definitely fall under adaptability.
Leadership lessons learned from this book: Dodd, as well as the French, possessed some good
leadership skills which could easily be learned from. First of all, Dodd was capable of leading the
Portuguese rebels when he was English speaking and they knew only Portuguese. He used the correct
body signals to instruct his fellow comrades besides the fact that they had such a huge language
barrier. He was meticulous in his planning making, even when there was only a split second to decide.
Dodd posted sentries even when his troops were in no

Examples Of Stoicism In The Aeneid
In the Aeneid by Vergil, the Roman values of Stoicism, dutifulness, and patriotism are reflected
through the main characters actions and beliefs, such as Aeneas s abandonment of Dido and his speech
of encouragement to his soldiers. In Roman philosophy, Stoicism was valued because it emphasized
following duty over giving into emotion. Vergil portrays this belief consistently throughout the Aeneid
through the characters actions. The first instance of Stoicism is when Aeneas and his crew are
shipwrecked in Carthage. Aeneas states, Now call back your courage, and have done with fear and
sorrow. Some day, perhaps, remembering even this will be a pleasure (1.275 278). Although Aeneas
feels defeated and hopeless, he puts aside his emotions to encourage his crew and foster hope ... Show

The Romans established a Republic as their form of government because they believed that all citizens
should actively participate in the political aspect of society as a duty to their country. Vergil highlights
the Roman value of dutifulness throughout his entire epic. For example, Aeneas s quest is based upon
his duty to the Trojan people and his descendants, who are destined to become formidable leaders.
Aeneas leaves Troy to construct a new empire that will continue to build upon the Trojan legacy. He
endures numerous calamities and misfortunes throughout his journey but always honors his duty to the
gods and his people. Vergil further enhances his portrayal of the Roman value of duty through King
Latinus. Although his daughter, Lavinia, has many suitors around his kingdom, a prophecy from the
Oracle of Faunus reveals to him that she is destined to marry a foreigner. At first, Latinus is dutiful
and honors the gods wishes, but his lack of fortitude in standing up to his wife and other suitors leads
to him neglecting his duty. This results in a major war and his country s ultimate

Gold Digger Song Analysis
In the year of 2005, Kanye West released his second album of that year, Late Registration, containing
one of his biggest hits. The song Gold Digger is about how rich men must always be on guard of
women who will manipulate and lie their way into a man s life explicitly for money and possibly
fame. Gold Digger, being one of his most popular songs, peaked at number one on the US Billboard
Hot 100. The song received 13 nominations for awards and won 4 different awards, one being a
Grammy for best solo rap performance. By the year 2011, Kanye West s hit single had sold over 3
million copies in the United States. Since then, Gold Digger has been recreated, rewritten, and covered

Twin Caverns remade Kanye s hit song in a way that points out how the song can become nearly any
type of genre that an artist would want it to be; whether it be rap, soft rock, pop or country music. The
original song, however, is meant to be more upbeat and in a rap melody in order for it to attain the best
results possible. Twin Caverns were not able to fit the entire original song into their version because of
the tempo they set forth. If they had done so the song would be a seven minute song where people
would not take the time to listen to the song. This, however, hurt the song tremendously because a lot
of what was left out was important to the original story Kanye produced in his song. What made the
song so successful was that Twin Caverns delivered an alternative song from the original raunchy rap
song to a soothing song that can calm a person. It is also successful because the song is nearly
unrecognizable from the original. The reworking that was done to the song, in a way, slows down the
world around the listener and makes them take a step back and relax. These songs together show just
how much potential Kanye s hit song has and it has been shown through many other

Canada Should Not Re-Open The Constitution
The story of the Canadian Constitution is a long and rocky one. It began in 1864 during the
Charlottetown conference in 1864, lead to the implementation of the British North America Act in
1867, before finally being patriated in Canada in 1982 (Dodek 2013, 21, 28). However, it was
patriated without the signature of Quebec, putting the future of Canada in peril. Future attempts to
open the constitution were messy, and ultimately failures, but there are still some who think Canada
should give one more kick at the can (Dodek 2013, 31). The paper will argue that Canada as a country
should not re open the constitution. The paper will be organized in the following way. First, it will
look at the two historical attempts to open the constitution, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is clear that the current system does not work, and some sort of reform is needed, but it does not
necessarily have to be the structural reform that requires constitutional amendments to be made.
While some may say it is necessary to create an elected senate, there are other options to give the
Senate more legitimacy. Just because a body is appointed does not mean it cannot have a measure of
popular support. Take for instance the Supreme Court of Canada, which is an appointed body that is
wildly respected, and the reason they are respected are because they are professionals who perform a
crucial role in society. A better class of senate could be achieved by changing the process to appoint
senators by cutting down on patronage and partisan appointments to give it more legitimacy (Crowley
Et al 2014, 13).
In a similar vein of creating a senate that is not beholden to political parties, and their masters, making
it a more independent body is to continue along the route that Primer Justin Trudeau started in 2014,
by kicking out Liberal Senators from his caucus (Cudmore 2014). By creating independent senators,
and attempting to make them the new normal it would make the senate a true chamber of sober second
thought. These are just two proposals to help the senate, but they provide a wider idea of what is
possible beyond the few suggestions the Harper

Wilds the information in a intimidating manner to scare Wilds to say yes, Ma am. Additionally, Wilds
responded to the questions swiftly at trial, which makes him sound credible. Gutierrez continued her

BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY Education is generally accepted as a major source of development
of any civilised society. Francis Bacon in his words said Crafty men condemn studies; simple men
admire them, and wise men use them . The importance of education to the development of the society
has made all concerned stakeholders to be interested in its administration, planning and dissemination
to the entire populace. Religious missionaries, most especially Christian missionaries were the fore
runners of western education in Nigeria. Education was used by those organisations as tool for
grassroot evangelism as well as public enlightenment. Muslim communities were faced with
challenges of getting their children educated in western way without getting them converted into
Christianity. Various Muslim organisations rose up to this challenge lately by establishing formal
western oriented schools. Muslims are enjoined by Prophet Muhammed to seek for knowledge from
the cradle to the grave ; and even go in quest of knowledge even unto china (edge of the earth) Various
Muslim organisations realized this call to tackle the challenges facing Muslim children in the path of
obtaining western (formal) education. For instance, Ansar Ud Deen Society of Nigeria, Ahmadiyya

South Cobb High School Analysis
An interesting task I was given this week was breaking up a fight between two students. As a student
at South Cobb High School, I have seen my fair share of fights; however, I have never participated in
breaking up a fight before until now. I saw two students pushing and shoving each other violently and
I sprung into action. I ran to the two boys and raised my voice and quickly separated the two. This was
interesting because it was my first experience doing that. Another interesting task I was given was
helping one of my autistic students fine a group during physical education. This student is very anti
social and needed my help. I had to look for the perfect group of students that I felt would be nice to

The Punk Subculture And The Hippie Counter Culture
Subculture is just a smaller culture within a much broader and mainstream or dominant culture and is
used to study cultures. It basically explains how some groups behave towards society or other
subgroups. The punk subculture is a counter culture and has a sundry selection of ideologies, music,
and fashion. In the late 1960s is roughly when punks came about. They are more centered on their
style of music called punk rock which is a more aggressive and fast paced style of rock and roll. This
music is a response to the hippie counter culture and some bands were more heavily influenced than
others. By the late 1970s is when the punk subculture began to expand and increased the number of
groups within the punk subculture like post punk, pop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Punk rock is also played by small bands. It was sometimes played by a solo artist but not usually. In a
punk rock band there is one vocalist who does most of or all the singing, two electric guitarists, an
electric bassist, and one drummer. When the musicians of the band do lend backup vocals, they are
main just shouting slogans or choruses. When the punk subculture first came about, most of its
members were in the lower economic class. They had become tired and jealous of the wealth of those
who dedicated themselves to popular rock during these times. What they did to combat this was
publish their own music or sign with small independent labels, in hopes to receive some wealth as
well in what they saw as a money hungry music industry. Due to the use of drugs, immoral sex, and
deep and sometimes violent power struggles, most early punk rock bands were short lived. Though
these punk rock bands were short lived, their respective popularity evolved punk rock into a lifestyle
and a movement. From the view of an average spectator, the dress code of a punk might look dirty and
disorganized with no thought put into it, but this poor and torn clothing is carefully put together and
arranged. The idea of what some people call insulting or indecent is the reason why punks wear this
type of clothing. They want to look offensive and dirty to the normal eye. Their clothing was modified
with everyday objects to have that aesthetic look and style that everyone else would hate.

Commercial Life in Pompeii
Commercial Life in Pompeii and Herculaneum Historians have debated the nature of Pompeian
economy whether it was based on agriculture or trade. Some see the Roman empire in modern terms
as one vast single market where demand drove up prices and productivity stimulated trade to a never
before seen level (residue of pollution can be found in Greenland s ice cap and the many ship wrecks
indicating the large volume of sea borne traffic). Other historians see Roman economy as primitive
based primarily on agriculture and the main aim of any community was to feed itself, with trade as the
icing on the cake (based on the risky and costly sea travel, lack of banking system, social mores for
respectability being against trade and laws ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Wild West s great success began on nostalgia for the passing frontier that swept the nation in the
late 1800 s. However, Buffalo Bill never looked backward. Towards the end of his life, a famous quote
of his was All my interests are still with the west the modern west ;.
Cody used his glory and fame as a platform for his western causes. His western causes were fighting
for the rights of Indians and women, and also for conservation. Even as early as 1879, Buffalo Bill
warned the federal government to not make promises to them that could be broken. He knew that
Indian conflicts would be caused by broken government promises. He also knew what the Indian was
fighting for, because their entire history was in America, and they felt it was their country.
Buffalo Bill was a fair man, as well. He was quoted in 1894 as saying to a woman reporter who asked
whether he thought the majority of women were qualified to vote that they were as well qualified as
the majority of men. If a woman can do the same work that a man can do and do it just as well, she

What Is Terezin Construction Camp
Terezin construction camp Esmeralda Lopez p.2 10.27.15 Terezin existed long before it was a camp
with a prison during world war. Terezin was build from 1780 to 1790. Terezin is still standing today
also Terezin was named after Emperor Joseph second after his mother Empress Maria Theresa. During
war was one it held political prisoners including Bosnian Serb Gavrilo who killed Archduke Franz
Ferdinand and his wife on June 28, 1914. If you were a children under the age of 15 you probably died
in the gas chamber. Also, if you were sent to the camp you might of have been one of a few of a lot to
have been experimented on.
The other thing that Terezín is known for is its role during WWII. Under Nazi occupation, the large
camp became a ghetto for Jews transported from across the Reich Austria and Germany and the
protectorate Bohemia and Moravia. Later it also housed Jews from further afield including Belgium,
Holland and Russia. It was this ghetto that was dressed up to fool the international Red Cross as late as
1944 that Nazi Germany had its Jewish citizens interests at heart. International monitors were shown a

George Washington University Experience
Being a student at The George Washington University and pursing my bachelor s degree in Integration
Information, Science, and Technology is an unmatchable experience. I m coming from the Arlington
campus and I ve been able to spend a lot of time at the Foggy Bottom campus because I live closer to
it and I would get all my work done there. Nonetheless, from it s location, state of the art facility, to it
s diversity, and prestige, GW is the place to be. Going to the same school as people like, Colin Powell,
Kerry Washington, Brian Williams, and Eric Cantor is an amazing experience.
Furthermore, being right down the street from The State department and The Institute of Peace makes
GW a school in which corporate opportunities are found religiously. Big name companies come to

Nervous Conditions ( Nc )
The present paper applies Ansgar Nünning s cognitive narratological approach to the study of
narrative unreliability and its relationship to the processes of resistance and change in Dangarembga s
novel, Nervous Conditions (NC). It is argued here that the first person narrator of the novel,
Tambudzai Sigauke (Tambu), has a certain vision of change through which she hopes to strike against
both patriarchy and colonialism. Certain aspects of Tambu s narrative voice, however, lead the reader
to doubt the authenticity of such a vision. Therefore, reading the novel in light of the narratological
concept of narrative unreliability provides insight into the success or failure of Tambu s vision of
change as presented in NC.
Dangarembga s Commonwealth Prize novel for Africa, NC, has received much critical attention.
Studies on the novel can be divided into different categories. Most of these studies, however, focus on
the feminist aspects of the text. Critics of Dangarembga s novel such as Nana Wilson tagoe (2009),
Carolyn Martin Shaw (2007), Pauline Ada Uwakweh (1995) and Rosemary Moyana (1994) spot light
on the dilemma of Zimbabwean women and the limited possibilities before them owing to male
domination on one hand, and the experience of colonialism on the other hand. Other critics such as D.
A. Odoi, Lesibana Rafapa and E. K. Klu (2014), Lily G. N. Mabura (2010), Katwiwa Mule (2006),
Lindsay Pentolfe Aegerter (1996) and Janice E. Hill (1995) focus on investigating the concept

Zar It For Fast Fashion
ZARA: IT for Fast Fashion
Current status of Zara IT Infrastructure and investments:
Zara has historically made minimal investment in IT. Its competitive advantage over other competitors
is not because of its IT infrastructure but because of its integrated supply chain and faster response to
the changing customer taste. Zara s approach to IT was consistent with its decentralized decision
making process. It has proved to be remarkably stable, effective and easy to roll out and maintained
over time. But in order to maintain business competitive advantage, a cost benefit analysis is must
before making any decision to invest in up gradation of IT.

Benefit: The current IT infrastructure has enabled Zara to report a net profit margin of 11.02% in 2002
and also has helped reducing the operating cost by efficient utilization of its supply chain. The up
gradation of current IT system will enable Zara further improve its efficiency thereby increasing its
revenue. It will enable improve its inventory management system because rapidly growing market
may make it difficult for the current old IT system to maintain the same level of efficiency.
Intangible analysis:
Cost: Zara s competitive advantage of efficient, fast and highly responsive supply chain may be at risk
due to fast changing complexity of market environment. Loss of information due to older system may
impact its revenue. Making phone calls to other store managers for checking inventories, is less
productive and time consuming. Small screen of the PDAs make it difficult for the employees in the
stores to use them for ordering purpose and are vulnerable to making errors. Up gradation of the
current system require training of the employees which may take several days or months. There should
be positive inertia among the employees to accept the up gradation of the current system. This much
required inertia is lacking currently which may a threat to the success of the change. The store
employees are comfortable with using the current system. The acceptance of the new system may take

Michelangelo s Last Judgement Analysis
Michelangelo s Last Judgement is a depiction of the second coming of Christ and captures the
moment when God judges all human beings. With over 300 nude figures in the fresco, there was a lot
of controversy. Many of those who opposed the work were those who believed it to be something that
belonged in a bath house rather than a church because of the images being shown. One of the most
prominent features of the fresco is that all the figures have a very muscular physique, which was what
Michelangelo was most known for. Although the work faced an extreme amount of criticism during
the time, it now receives high praises and is one of the most notable pieces of art in the world. In this
fresco Michelangelo is capturing the force and triumph of the most feared moments in the future,
while retaining the purity and power of nature by representing all of humanity as nude and muscular.
One of the Last Judgment s most prominent detail that has caused debate since it was first made was
the fact that all the figures depicted were nude. Nudity was an immense issue during the time
especially for those supportive of the Catholic churches counter reformation. One of those people is
Biagio da Cesena who is noted in Schlitt s text as saying that the excessive number and shameful
representation of the nudes made it better suited to a bath house or tavern than to the honored place it
occupied. Michelangelo was so committed to making every person in the Sistine Chapel naked, which

Relapse Behavior
A major issue when treating alcoholism is the likelihood of relapse. A lack of social support may
contribute to an increased likelihood of relapse, while maintaining positive social support can decrease
this risk. One study discussed the possibility of social interaction influencing relapse behavior in the
prairie vole. This study focused on the alcohol deprivation effect (ADE), where animals that had been
previously exposed to ethanol show increased consumption after a period of abstinence, modeling
relapse behavior commonly seen in addiction. The aim of the study was first to observe whether
prairie voles, like mice and rats in previous experiments, could display an ADE and second, to

Certain drugs are now being studied to determine whether they can be used to limit alcohol drinking
and potentially treat alcoholism. Prairie voles are now involved in drug and alcohol studies because of
their social nature. Naltrexone, a drug currently in use for treating alcoholism, was tested on prairie
voles to determine whether the animals could be used to study drug treatments for alcoholism. In this
study, voles shared a cage with a same sex sibling for five days, then were placed in a cage with a wire
mesh divider between animals. During a four day period, animals were continually given water and
had access to 10% ethanol each day. Animals received injections of saline the first two days, then
naltrexone or saline the last two, depending on group. Both sexes of prairie voles were affected by the
drug, as there was a significant decrease in alcohol preference and dose in animals exposed to
naltrexone as opposed to the saline

Use Of Penelope s Voice In The Odyssey
Lingyan Xie
Justice
No Truth in Story telling
Margaret Atwood gives voice to Penelope, one of antiquity s most infamous heroines, so that she can
tell her story at last and set the record straight once and for all (Canongate). The quotation printed at
the back of The Penelopiad gives a concise motivation why Margaret Atwood writes the book:
Atwood uses Penelope s voice to tell the readers how she is wronged in Homer s Odyssey. Although
the narrator Penelope dominates the book, the twelve hanged maids also interpose their own opinion
in prose and rhymes. However, it is not hard for the readers to find out that the two perspectives
contradict one another, the maids voice is often used as a counterpoint to Penelope s, when it comes to
why the maids are hanged. Since The Penelopiad is all about Penelope, then why does Atwood
employ the maids voice which causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the mornings, our eyes darkened by lack of sleep, we d exchange smiles of complicity, and here and
there a quick squeeze of the hand...neither they nor I could take their servile behavior seriously (114 ).
From the vivid description of how close Penelope and the maids are, it can be seen that Penelope does
not only treat the maids with superiority, but also Penelope truly treats and loves the maids as if they
were sisters. Later, according to Penelope, when the suitors come, Penelope assigns the maids to be
her spies by ingratiating themselves with the suitors. When comes the turning point that Penelope
decides to tell the returning, furious Odysseus all about the plan, she is drugged to sleep. It was my
fault! (160). Throughout the whole book, Penelope frequently expresses her sorrow and dismay about
the hanging of the maids. It is as if Penelope herself were a victim in the hanging of the maids, she is
helpless and heartbroken when Odysseus kills her sister like

In this paper we will be discussing a mural by Thomas Hart Benton titled, A Social History of the
State of Missouri. This mural is located in the Missouri state capitol in Jefferson City Missouri. This
mural is located in the House Lounge of the capitol building. The mural covers 3 of the walls with the
exception of the West wall full of windows. The room measured 25 feet wide, 55 feet long, and 14feet

House Bill 536, Section 87B became law, appropriating $16,000 for Benton to paint a mural in the
House Lounge of the Missouri State Capitol. The mural was completed in 1936.
Description:
As you walk into the House Lounge you are facing the west wall that is a row of windows. Benton
painted corn stalks, railroad lines, electrical line towers, and smoke from the train between the
windows. As you walk to the right you are facing the North wall it showcases Missouri s early history.
It is split into five sections and door separating them. There are three larger sections and two smaller
ones. In the first large panel to the left of the door you see an Indian trading with a white man, a white
man putting a pack on a mule, two white men loading/unloading a barrel from/on a wagon, three men
shooting guns, and a white man plowing land with an ox. Above the door is a mural of a Black man
holding a fish and he is looking down on a small white boy with a steam boat in the background. On

that I here to add to the knowledge of the human mind and of the laws governing the artificial increase

mind of a low intelligence peering from a dark room, through the keyhole, at a dazzling light outside

Tripling Charlie s I.Q through the means of Artificial Intelligence drastically changed his life in a very
positive way. Charlie was able to make true friends. Secondly, Charlie got to see what it was like to
have emotions. Finally, Charlie was able to see the world in a completely different perspective. How

Creativity and Innovation in Business
Prof. Danny Araneta Cabulay
Dean Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance
Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines dcabulay@feu.edu.ph Albert Einstein once said,
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For most people, creativity is more easily associated with art than business. But the highest art form is
business because one can be very creative, dynamic and revolutionary. Creativity is also related to
innovation and change. I am fully aware that many of the things we see around us are products of
minds of geniuses, creative thinkers.

African American Women Arrival in Colonies Essay
In 1619, the first African Americans arrived in the colonies. Only a handful of survivors had outlasted
a gruesome sea voyage. They had all been taken during a raid of a Spanish ship that was sailing for the
Spanish West Indies. During the next few years, many African Americans were uprooted from their
homelands and forced into slavery. They were unwillingly taken from their families and tribes, forced
onto slave ships, and forced to endure cruel treatment at the hands of their captors. Many of the
African American women were sexually assaulted during their time on the ship, and in many cases, it
would not stop when they reached port. Upon their arrival in the colonies, the slaves that survived
would be auctioned off or used for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a child was born to an African American woman in slavery, often times it wouldn t survive because
of the same poor conditions. Once an African American woman completed her daily work for her
master, she returned home to her community, set up among other slaves. This community was usually
located away from the living quarters of her master. In this community, the African American men and
women tried to preserve some of the customs native to their respective countries. They grew
vegetables that they once grew on their home soil, held traditional ceremonies, and practiced long
established birthing methods. Many African American women established intimate relationships with
African American men. When this took place, a traditional marriage ceremony often took place. They
raised families, much as the colonial men and women. Many times, after years of companionship, they
were separated because of death or one being traded to another family.
Among African women living in the colonies, there existed different living and even life conditions.
Some African American women were lucky enough to be free. This minority class of African
American women gained their freedom by working their way out of slavery, being rewarded with
freedom at their owner s request, or through fleeing from their master. In some instances, African
Americans were awarded emancipation from the court. After being freed, African American women

The Importance Of Life On Earth
Earth is living and breathing planet, it takes a lot of energy to keep the Earth health, to keep all its
inhabitants functioning. Earth is a special planet because it is the only know planet that can allow life
to thrive. Earth receive a tremendous amount of energy from the Sun, solar energy is necessary for life
on Earth. A planet filled with life needs water, it is one of the essential pieces for all humans, animals,
and plants. Earth is cover primarily by water, a unique substance that keeps life going. Water is unique
in many ways, water is the only liquid found at Earth s surface in large quantities...is readily converted
from one state of matter to another (solid, liquid, gas), and water s solid phase, ice, is less dense than
liquid water (Lutgens 90, 2016). All these unique attributes of water make life on earth easy for all its
inhabitants. On a warm day, a cold drink of water with ice can be refreshing, just like a dip in a cold
late, the same can be said for a warm cup of tea in the middle of the winter. Water moves through
Earth; the process of waters movement is explained by the hydrologic cycle. The hydrologic cycle is
the continuous exchange of water among the oceans, the atmosphere, and the continents. The
hydrologic cycle has several essential parts, evaporation, transportation, and precipitation.
Evaporation is the action of water moving into the atmosphere where it condenses and forms clouds,
moisture is then transported in the atmosphere all over earth

Nokia s Marketing Strategy For Nokia
Name of organization: NOKIA
Project Scope:
The main goal for Nokia is to recover its capitulated marketplace and return to its leadership position
in the Smartphone market. The firm generally counts on the partnership alongside Microsoft, and on
its Lumia smartphones to accomplish this goal. Nokia additionally selects a marketing strategy to
apply for some of the Lumia phones in Europe.
Specific contributors to the project failure:
1. The major contributor to the project failure is the competition, Nokia faces from Apple, Samsung
and other smartphone companies.
2. Nokia has had troubles adapting to the marketplace changes.
3. Wrong implementation of marketing strategy and specific problems related to the positioning of the
products has been one of the major factors for project failure.
4. Nokia launched an advertisement to market its new Lumia devices. The advert aimed to prop the
firm s claim that the technology helped reduce blur, but afterwards from the video it became clear that
it was filmed alongside a professional camera. This was truly a bad onset for Nokia s flagship device.
The launch of the device was a very crucial moment for Nokia and this was a big mistake.
 Root cause of the contributing factor:
1. Apple entered with the launch of iPhone in the European smartphone market for the first time in
November 2007. The smartphone has been very successful and by now there are 6 generations of the
product. Currently the market share of iPhone in Europe

  • 2. Australian Institute Of Health And Welfare Like many healthcare systems around the world, Australia has a complex system in place for the funding healthcare to meet the needs of its citizens. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), in 2011 12 Australia spent an estimated $140.2 billion on healthcare, accounting for approximately 9.5% of the gross domestic product (AIHW, 2014). Australia has seen substantial growth in the cost of healthcare over the last decade due to an aging population, increased prevalence of chorionic conditions, changes in personal incomes, technology, and other economic trends (AIHW, 2014). Government sources account for the bulk of all healthcare funding, with the Australian Government contributing 42.4%, and state and territory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to fund the Medicare program, the Australian Government leverages a mixture of funding sources such as a general tax revenue, patient payments, state level funding, and other private sources. According to The Commonwealth Fund, the Australian Government funds 43% of all expenditure, with other levels of government contributing 25%, out of pocket payments contributing 17%, and the remaining 15% coming from private sources such as private healthcare coverage (2015). In order for the Australian Government to subsidize such a healthcare program, residents of Australia bear a 2% Medicare levy of their taxable income (Australian Tax Office, 2015). According to Australia s Private Health Insurance Ombudsman (PHIO), in order to alleviate some of the burden on the Australian Government, the Medicare Levy Surcharge is applied to payers who do not have private hospital coverage and earn above a certain income level (PHIO, n.d.). The Medical Levy Surcharge was created to encourage individuals to use the private healthcare system in order to reduce the demand on the public Medicare system. The Medical Levy Surcharge is an income driven fee calculated at a rate of 1.0% 1.5% of an individual s income level for those earning above a specified income, which is meant in incentivize those with the means to do so to carry private hospital coverage (PHIO, n.d.). • 3. Essay on Book Report for Rifleman Dodd 1 BOOK REPORT Name: Smith, Stephen Grade: LCpl Date: Section: . Book Title: Rifleman Dodd Author: C.S. Forester Why I chose this book: Originally this book was given to me by on of my combat instructors in Marine Combat Training(MCT). I wanted to read it but soon found it impossible due to certain time constraints. I lost the book during the transition from M.O.S. school to my current residence. Just recently, I obtained another copy of this book from a fellow Marine who currently works in the same shop. Give a brief description about this book: Rifleman Dodd is a novel written on the account of a certain British foot soldier of the Ninety Fifth Foot named Matthew Dodd who encounters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While sabotaging the city he was able to sneak through its gates undetected and set fire to the bridge s ropes. Tactical lessons learned from this book: A few of the tactical lessons I learned from rifleman Matthew Dodd include proper concealment, guerrilla warfare like maneuvers, keeping a safe distance from enemy forces, absolute military bearing, and choosing your targets wisely, as well as, knowing when to fire at those targets. Furthermore, Dodd was very successful with remaining undetected at opportune moments, as well as, knowing exactly when to increase the distance from the enemy. What impressed me most was his ability to successfully communicate with allied forces who didn t necessarily speak his language. He used hand and arm signals to pantomime and gesture what it was he was trying to get across to his comrades. This trait would definitely fall under adaptability. Leadership lessons learned from this book: Dodd, as well as the French, possessed some good leadership skills which could easily be learned from. First of all, Dodd was capable of leading the Portuguese rebels when he was English speaking and they knew only Portuguese. He used the correct body signals to instruct his fellow comrades besides the fact that they had such a huge language barrier. He was meticulous in his planning making, even when there was only a split second to decide. Dodd posted sentries even when his troops were in no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Examples Of Stoicism In The Aeneid In the Aeneid by Vergil, the Roman values of Stoicism, dutifulness, and patriotism are reflected through the main characters actions and beliefs, such as Aeneas s abandonment of Dido and his speech of encouragement to his soldiers. In Roman philosophy, Stoicism was valued because it emphasized following duty over giving into emotion. Vergil portrays this belief consistently throughout the Aeneid through the characters actions. The first instance of Stoicism is when Aeneas and his crew are shipwrecked in Carthage. Aeneas states, Now call back your courage, and have done with fear and sorrow. Some day, perhaps, remembering even this will be a pleasure (1.275 278). Although Aeneas feels defeated and hopeless, he puts aside his emotions to encourage his crew and foster hope ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Romans established a Republic as their form of government because they believed that all citizens should actively participate in the political aspect of society as a duty to their country. Vergil highlights the Roman value of dutifulness throughout his entire epic. For example, Aeneas s quest is based upon his duty to the Trojan people and his descendants, who are destined to become formidable leaders. Aeneas leaves Troy to construct a new empire that will continue to build upon the Trojan legacy. He endures numerous calamities and misfortunes throughout his journey but always honors his duty to the gods and his people. Vergil further enhances his portrayal of the Roman value of duty through King Latinus. Although his daughter, Lavinia, has many suitors around his kingdom, a prophecy from the Oracle of Faunus reveals to him that she is destined to marry a foreigner. At first, Latinus is dutiful and honors the gods wishes, but his lack of fortitude in standing up to his wife and other suitors leads to him neglecting his duty. • 5. Gold Digger Song Analysis In the year of 2005, Kanye West released his second album of that year, Late Registration, containing one of his biggest hits. The song Gold Digger is about how rich men must always be on guard of women who will manipulate and lie their way into a man s life explicitly for money and possibly fame. Gold Digger, being one of his most popular songs, peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song received 13 nominations for awards and won 4 different awards, one being a Grammy for best solo rap performance. By the year 2011, Kanye West s hit single had sold over 3 million copies in the United States. Twin Caverns remade Kanye s hit song in a way that points out how the song can become nearly any type of genre that an artist would want it to be; whether it be rap, soft rock, pop or country music. The original song, however, is meant to be more upbeat and in a rap melody in order for it to attain the best results possible. Twin Caverns were not able to fit the entire original song into their version because of the tempo they set forth. If they had done so the song would be a seven minute song where people would not take the time to listen to the song. This, however, hurt the song tremendously because a lot of what was left out was important to the original story Kanye produced in his song. What made the song so successful was that Twin Caverns delivered an alternative song from the original raunchy rap song to a soothing song that can calm a person. It is also successful because the song is nearly unrecognizable from the original. The reworking that was done to the song, in a way, slows down the world around the listener and makes them take a step back and relax. • 6. Canada Should Not Re-Open The Constitution The story of the Canadian Constitution is a long and rocky one. It began in 1864 during the Charlottetown conference in 1864, lead to the implementation of the British North America Act in 1867, before finally being patriated in Canada in 1982 (Dodek 2013, 21, 28). However, it was patriated without the signature of Quebec, putting the future of Canada in peril. Future attempts to open the constitution were messy, and ultimately failures, but there are still some who think Canada should give one more kick at the can (Dodek 2013, 31). The paper will argue that Canada as a country should not re open the constitution. The paper will be organized in the following way. It is clear that the current system does not work, and some sort of reform is needed, but it does not necessarily have to be the structural reform that requires constitutional amendments to be made. While some may say it is necessary to create an elected senate, there are other options to give the Senate more legitimacy. Just because a body is appointed does not mean it cannot have a measure of popular support. Take for instance the Supreme Court of Canada, which is an appointed body that is wildly respected, and the reason they are respected are because they are professionals who perform a crucial role in society. A better class of senate could be achieved by changing the process to appoint senators by cutting down on patronage and partisan appointments to give it more legitimacy (Crowley Et al 2014, 13). In a similar vein of creating a senate that is not beholden to political parties, and their masters, making it a more independent body is to continue along the route that Primer Justin Trudeau started in 2014, by kicking out Liberal Senators from his caucus (Cudmore 2014). By creating independent senators, and attempting to make them the new normal it would make the senate a true chamber of sober second thought. These are just two proposals to help the senate, but they provide a wider idea of what is possible beyond the few suggestions the Harper ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The importance of education to the development of the society has made all concerned stakeholders to be interested in its administration, planning and dissemination to the entire populace. Religious missionaries, most especially Christian missionaries were the fore runners of western education in Nigeria. Education was used by those organisations as tool for grassroot evangelism as well as public enlightenment. Muslim communities were faced with challenges of getting their children educated in western way without getting them converted into Christianity. Various Muslim organisations rose up to this challenge lately by establishing formal western oriented schools. In a punk rock band there is one vocalist who does most of or all the singing, two electric guitarists, an electric bassist, and one drummer. When the musicians of the band do lend backup vocals, they are main just shouting slogans or choruses. When the punk subculture first came about, most of its members were in the lower economic class. They had become tired and jealous of the wealth of those who dedicated themselves to popular rock during these times. What they did to combat this was publish their own music or sign with small independent labels, in hopes to receive some wealth as well in what they saw as a money hungry music industry. Due to the use of drugs, immoral sex, and deep and sometimes violent power struggles, most early punk rock bands were short lived. Though these punk rock bands were short lived, their respective popularity evolved punk rock into a lifestyle and a movement. From the view of an average spectator, the dress code of a punk might look dirty and disorganized with no thought put into it, but this poor and torn clothing is carefully put together and arranged. The idea of what some people call insulting or indecent is the reason why punks wear this type of clothing. They want to look offensive and dirty to the normal eye. • 22. Nervous Conditions ( Nc ) The present paper applies Ansgar Nünning s cognitive narratological approach to the study of narrative unreliability and its relationship to the processes of resistance and change in Dangarembga s novel, Nervous Conditions (NC). It is argued here that the first person narrator of the novel, Tambudzai Sigauke (Tambu), has a certain vision of change through which she hopes to strike against both patriarchy and colonialism. Certain aspects of Tambu s narrative voice, however, lead the reader to doubt the authenticity of such a vision. Therefore, reading the novel in light of the narratological concept of narrative unreliability provides insight into the success or failure of Tambu s vision of change as presented in NC. Dangarembga s Commonwealth Prize novel for Africa, NC, has received much critical attention. Studies on the novel can be divided into different categories. Most of these studies, however, focus on the feminist aspects of the text. Critics of Dangarembga s novel such as Nana Wilson tagoe (2009), Carolyn Martin Shaw (2007), Pauline Ada Uwakweh (1995) and Rosemary Moyana (1994) spot light on the dilemma of Zimbabwean women and the limited possibilities before them owing to male domination on one hand, and the experience of colonialism on the other hand. • 24. Michelangelo s Last Judgement Analysis Michelangelo s Last Judgement is a depiction of the second coming of Christ and captures the moment when God judges all human beings. With over 300 nude figures in the fresco, there was a lot of controversy. Many of those who opposed the work were those who believed it to be something that belonged in a bath house rather than a church because of the images being shown. One of the most prominent features of the fresco is that all the figures have a very muscular physique, which was what Michelangelo was most known for. Although the work faced an extreme amount of criticism during the time, it now receives high praises and is one of the most notable pieces of art in the world. In this fresco Michelangelo is capturing the force and triumph of the most feared moments in the future, while retaining the purity and power of nature by representing all of humanity as nude and muscular. One of the Last Judgment s most prominent detail that has caused debate since it was first made was the fact that all the figures depicted were nude. Nudity was an immense issue during the time especially for those supportive of the Catholic churches counter reformation. One of those people is Biagio da Cesena who is noted in Schlitt s text as saying that the excessive number and shameful representation of the nudes made it better suited to a bath house or tavern than to the honored place it occupied.
