The Orientation Of Individual And Adlerian Psychology
Alfred Adler was originally a physician who later specialized in neurology and psychiatry, especially
in treating childhood disorders (Goldenberg Goldenberg, 2013, p. 171). Adler helped found the child
guidance movement in the early 1900s (p. 171). When invited by Freud, Adler joined the Vienna
Psychoanalytic society, publishing psychoanalytically oriented articles (p. 171). However, Adler began
to emphasize the importance of social factors as opposed to Freud s drive theory, diverging from the
psychoanalytical theory (p. 171). In 1914, he formed the Society for Individual Psychology. Individual
psychology is more concerned with the whole person who has social, purposeful, and developmental
determinants (p. 171). In this paper, I will introduce the theorical orientation of individual or Adlerian
psychology. This paper will discuss how individual psychology understands human development, the
role of cultural factors, the etiology of pathological symptoms/problem areas, and the role of
treatment.
Human Development
According to Frager and Fadiman (2005), Individual psychology defines psychological growth as a
matter of moving from self centered goals to mastering environmentally and socially useful
development (p. 102). Thus, Adlerians believe that psychological development occurs when humans
shift from individual tasks to environmental and social tasks. Adlerians believe that at the age of 7 or
8, most humans develop ideas about their lifestyle that would be fixated

Data Acquisition Case Study
2. Methods
2.1 Data acquisition
2.1.1 Hardware
The data acquisition was based on the miPod sensor called inertial magnetic measurement unit
containing a MPU9150 chip with a three dimensional accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer.
The miPod IMMU was manufactured in such a way that it is attached to each skateboard and in a
stable condition (see Fig. 2).
Video acquisition was done using a GoPro Hero 2 camera. Furthermore, a Vicon MX motion capture
system with 16 cameras used for referencing the orientation of the board. For this orientation, six (6)
reflective markers were used on each skateboard. The motion capture system and IMMU are
synchronized by a light based trigger. Whenever the athlete is in the vicinity, a trigger is sent ... Show

However, only detected events will be classified.
Tricks are found by having high accelerometer at the landing impact after the execution of a trick.
First, area of interest is determined by the highest accelerometer readings. Secondly, the gyroscope
gets the exact time of landing impact within the previous area of interest. Thirdly, the trick time
difference is based on the detected landing impact. An illustration of this is in Fig. 4.
The accelerometer signal is analysed by a sample wise processing of data stream. The detected area is
based on the highest acceleration signal at landing impact. The sum of accelerometer acquired values
will be calculated by the time. And the threshold is set based on athletes, skateboard and ground. If the
sum of accelerometer values goes beyond the declared threshold, at that time. The signal will be the
area of interest. This means each performed trick can have multiple area of interest due to the landing
impact after the trick.
However, hard take off, hard kicks on board, more acceleration is measured on each trick could
exceed the specified threshold and this leads to more area of interest.
Contrary to highest acceleration signal gotten at take off, the gyroscope signal shows the highest
change in signal at landing impact. For all previously detected times and derivative of the gyroscope
signal will be analysed with the interval {ta 1s] to ta +1s]. therefore, L 1 norm of the gyroscope

Comparing Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily...
Comparing Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights
Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights share similarities in many
aspects, perhaps most plainly seen in the plots: just as Clarissa marries Richard rather than Peter
Walsh in order to secure a comfortable life for herself, Catherine chooses Edgar Linton over Heathcliff
in an attempt to wrest both herself and Heathcliff from the squalid lifestyle of Wuthering Heights.
However, these two novels also overlap in thematic elements in that both are concerned with the
opposing forces of civilization or order and chaos or madness. The recurring image of the house is an
important symbol used to illustrate both authors order versus chaos ... Show more content on

The first instance of window imagery is deceivingly small and easy to pass over, but upon reflection it
creates a certain symmetry by subtly foreshadowing the final window scene. In the very opening
section of the book, Clarissa s departure from the house dredges up memories of her time at Bourton,
of scenes with Peter Walsh that took place in front of an open window. This memory, brought about by
the impact of the early morning air, also reminds her of the solemn feeling this incident gave her
standing there at the open window, that something awful was about to happen. Though fleeting and
lightly discussed, this emotion placed so close to the beginning of the novel seems to indicate the
dangerous nature of an open window, which anticipates both Septimus death and Clarissa s later
musings in front of a window.
Another small but important window scene takes place after Clarissa returns home to discover that her
husband has been invited to Millicent Bruton s lunch party but she has not. After reading the message
about the party on a notepad, she begins to retreat upstairs to her private room, a single figure against
the appalling night. As she lingers before the open staircase window, she feels her own aging,
suddenly shriveled, aged, breastless... out of doors, out of the window, out of her body and brain
which now failed... Again, there is a hint of danger as death is portrayed as a somewhat alluring
transcendental experience,

Similarities Between Hercules And Hercules
The myth of the Greek hero Hercules and the one seen in the Disney movie have a lot of differences,
but also some similarities. For example, one difference is in the Disney movie Hercules only
performed 7 labors, but in the Greek myth Hercules had to complete 12 labors. However, a similarity
is that in both versions Hercules had to endure the hero s journey. There are many other differences
and similarities worth mentioning. Zeus fell in love with a Greek woman named Alcmene, and
impregnated her. When the wife of Zeus, Hera, found out she tried to prevent the birth of the child.
Hera could not stop the birth, and the child was named Hercules, which means glorious gift to Hera in
Greek. Hercules was a demi god because of one human parent and one god parent. Hera tried to kill
the baby by placing snakes in his crib, butt the child strangled the snakes before they could kill him.
Hera wanted to get revenge on Zeus by making Hercules life miserable. Hercules marries Megara
later, after having proved himself an excellent warrior and she birthed him two daughters. Hera caused
Hercules to go crazy, and he killed his wife and daughters. When Hercules finally came to his senses
he was distraught, and went to King Eurypterus and requested punishment. King Eurypterus asked the
gods to help him come up with a punishment, and Hera is the one that responded to his request. King
Eurypterus told Hercules that the only way to cleanse himself is to complete 12 heroic labors. He
added that performing these labors would cause Hercules to become an immortal god with honor
restored. Hercules first labor was to kill the Nemean lion. The second labor was to kill the multi
headed hydra. The third labor was to capture Cerynitian without wounding it. The fourth labor was to
capture an enormous boar. The fifth labor was to clean the stables of King Augeas in a single day. The
sixth labor was to kill the stymphalian birds without entering the swamp. The seventh labor tasked
Hercules was disposal of the Minotaur. The eighth labor was to bring the mares of Diomedes to King
Eurypterus. The ninth labor was to retrieve the belt of the queen Hippolyta. The tenth labor was to
capture cattle that belonged to Geryon, a monster. The eleventh

Abstract
This research papers describes the various Industries of the hospitality industry. The three I discuss are
Food service managers, Lodging managers, and Chefs and Head Cooks. The vibrant and rapidly
growing industry has highly demanded positions across the world. The various tasks and
responsibilities of each career field are detailed. Information regarding the salary and projected growth
rates of these individual careers is listed. I discuss why a certain career worked for me and the how it

Restaurant managers have the task of choosing a team that functions as a working unit. They must be
fluent with product and labor costs. Knowing restaurant demographics aids in reduction product loss
and waste. Managers must listen to their employees and establish a mutual respect. There is also the
need to be technology savvy, and stay current with market trends. Based on the wage information for
food service managers, it does not deter me from pursuing this career field. Based on data, the higher
your degree the more likely you are to have a higher salary (O*NET, 2015). I am planning on
obtaining a bachelor s degree in hospitality management in order to obtain this higher salary, and work
in a more reputable business. I love to entertain people, and see people have a good time. I know
being a Food service manager I can work somewhere where my purpose is to provide people with a
pleasurable experience. I want to have a career that does not feel like work, rather a lifelong passion.
In order to be a successful Food service manager you need to have continuous training. Staying
current on what types of food and drink products are marketable. Knowing how to listen and
effectively communicate with your customers aids in sales. Managers must also stay ServSafe
certified and up to date on OSHA rules and regulations. I believe this would be the perfect career for
me after I graduate. I have a passion for great food and entertaining people. Staying current in food

Don Juan Analysis
The story Don Juan written in the 1600 s by Moliere is a comical controversial drama typical of
Moliere s plays. Although Don Juan lived criticized for free thought and atheism . . . And an
unbeliever overturning the foundation of religion the play has performed for over 200 years now
recognized as one of Moliere s masterpieces. (91 Moliere). Don Juan s is a historical womanizer who
rebels against God and morality. So it appears a womanizer exists every generation. The character
Don Juan mocks relationships also the sanctity of marriage. Additionally, Don Juan enjoys breaking
up relationships for conquest and sport. Thus, Don Juan remains unconcerned his valet Sganarelle
served him as a silent accomplice against his will. However, Sganarelle does express Don Juan s
behavior with Gusman squire to Elvira. Furthermore, Sganarelle says A wedding doesn t mean a thing
to him. It s the only sort of trap he sets for ensnaring women: he weds them left, right, and centre . . . I
d rather serve the devil himself than Don Juan (96 97 Moliere). Moreover, Don Juan speaks of
commitment to one woman as bondage or a death sentence. In the story Don Juan was once
committed to his Elvira, presently has lost interest in her. Thus, Don Juan says What! Would you
restrict a man to staying chained to the first woman who takes his fancy, has him give up everything
for her and never look back again? ( 98 Misier). Therefore, Don Juan uses his expansive vocabulary to
manipulate and persuade women of any background. Hence Don Juan remains bold in his efforts to
steal a woman s affections insomuch he enchants and stirs debate between Charlotte and Mathurine. In
the story Charlotte and Mathurine debate over whom Don Juan loves. Therefore Don Juan fuels the
debate between Charlotte and Mathurine. Also, Don Juan says What do you want me to say. . .You
both claim that I promised to marry you. But doesn t each one of you knows the truth without my
needing to spell it out? Surely the one I have given my promise to can afford to laugh at anything the
other one says (115 Moliere).
Furthermore, Don Juan has no convictions for his actions, even unto his birth father, Don Louis
expresses the shame in his immorality. For Don Louis boldly

RV industry
RV vehicles (RVs) are recreational vehicles combining transportation and temporary living quarter for
recreation, camping and travel. RVs started early 1900s when nature enthusiasts customized their
vehicles. The RV industry flourished after the World War II. In 2000, RV industry consisted of 135
manufacturers and more than 200 suppliers of parts and services. RVs are divided into two categories
(motorhomes and towables) and five classes ranging from affordable vehicle to normal people up to
luxury one ($ 500,000). In 2002, about 7.5 million households owned an RV in US and projected to
reach 8.5 million in 2010. This offers great opportunity for EMR innovations to succeed since the RVs
exist in considerable number and will grow in the future.
RV culture
As noticed, RVs are popular and used a lot in US. There is almost one RV in every 12 households

Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques
Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques
Zachary Fisher
Even with the advanced state of forensic sciences some surfaces and circumstances prove difficult to
successfully lift, or even detect, fingerprints from. There are now several methods of enhancing latent
fingerprints for collection. These methods use chemicals, light sources and other techniques to
enhance latent ridge marks on materials that prove difficult to successfully identify and lift prints
from. These surfaces include certain types of metals, porous surfaces, and certain kinds of paper. We
will discuss three types of latent finger print enhancement that are relatively new or still in the
beginning stages of testing, two chemical, elctrochromism and yellow ... Show more content on

Lastly, reliable print lifting and identifying are necessary because fingerprints are often the only way
to tie a perpetrator to the crime itself.
Electrochromism is a relatively newly discovered method that allows for the capturing of a negative
image of a fingerprint on a metal surface. The material poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) is applied to
the area that is being searched, once applied a charge is applied to the material that causes a shift in
color that allows for the print to be identified with great detail. (Brodie) Curcumin, yellow 3, can be
used to develop latent prints that are otherwise difficult to lift useful prints from using other traditional
methods, particularly metal and hard plastics. Currently basic violet 3 and solvent black 3 are used but
pose issues as solvent black 3 is a carcinogen and must be used in laboratory conditions and basic
violet can be difficult to see on many surfaces. Yellow 3 naturally occurs in the popular Indian spice
turmeric and is commonly used as a natural food coloring. When used as a reagent in fingerprint
collection it targets the non water soluble material with the fingerprint residue, and can be used on
dark surfaces in place of solvent black 3 due to its naturally bright color. Due to the fact that it targets
the non water soluble material it can even be used to retrieve prints

Different Types Of Research Methods
Research can be conducted and collected in many different ways. Two examples of ways research can
be collected could be through longitudinal studies or cross sectional studies. There are also two types
of experiments that affect how research is conducted. The two types of experiments would include
naturalistic observations and laboratory observations. When it comes to longitudinal studies they are
based on studying individuals over long periods of time. Generally these individuals will be studied
for several years in order to observe change and behavior throughout a person s lifespan. For example,
if researchers are studying individuals in order to understand the concept about life satisfaction, they
will watch these people as they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are used to study the population in order to have a wider understanding on various amounts of
factors such as IQ, peer relations, memory, attachment etc. However, these experiments do not
demonstrate growth, stability, or change and can obscure information. They are more of a general way
to conduct research efficiently. A naturalistic observation is when the subject does not have knowledge
that a researcher is collection information on them. An example would be people watching. A
researcher could go into a mall and record random individuals behavior on paper to make a general
observation on how people act in public situations. This is the most whole and unbiased way of
conducting information because the subject will not act differently under the pressure of knowing they
are being evaluated. Another way to observe a group of people would be in a laboratory setting. This
way variables can be manipulated and controlled, however, this may create bias in the subject being
observed. It is an unnatural setting where the subject is being observed by researchers and due to this
pressure they may act accordingly to what they deem as ideal in the experiment. An example of this
experiment would be Milgram s experiment. During this experiment Milgram wanted to test whether
or not people would make a morally wrong choice under the pressure of an authority

Creative Elements In Julie Taymor s The Tempest
In Julie Taymor s theatrical rendition of The Tempest , Taymor successfully directs the challenging
Shakespearian play drawing on personal creative elements. Throughout the entire play Taymor
channels her artistic vison of the play, incorporating ideas such as mask making, lighting effects, and
costume design to create her own concept production.
Taymor successfully accomplishes her task of tackling a difficult Shakespeare play, interpreting the
artistic values to make it her own, and setting it to a live production. As with any classical piece,
especially those written by William Shakespeare, in today s theatrical world is especially difficult.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that provides significant help to those in

trying times. For example, many felt that the group was formed in response to the destruction caused
by the American Civil War. Founder and the group s first President, Clara Barton, believed that
America should be prepared for future catastrophes, but there was widespread doubt that the nation

On the same note, the group provided relief when the 35 W bridge collapsed in Minnesota. It helped,
this past year, to rebuild houses that fell victim to California wildfires too. Post disaster aid comes in
many forms. Food relief, site clean up, site repair, blood donations, blood transfusions and other types
of medical aid are some of the forms of relief. Although, disaster reliefs and blood donations are
crucial in our society today; this is not the only type of service the Red Cross provides for us.
Red Cross has prepared people to save lives through health and safety education training for almost
fifty years. Red Cross provides classes and guidelines for lifeguarding. Not only does lifeguarding
save lives but it also helps financially by providing jobs for thousands around the country. Thanks to
Red Cross, paramedics across the country are saving lives and also making a living. All of these
paramedics and lifeguards with kids wouldn t be able to go to work if it weren t for the Red Cross s

of The American Red Cross s target population is that there is not necessarily a target population. In

Francesco Borromini Research Paper
Francesco Borromini is the most quintessential Baroque architect of all time. Though he was born in
Canton Ticino in the Alps, he came to Rome early and remained for the rest of his life. He was
suspicious and dedicated, evident in that he carefully supervised his designs from models, to drawings,
and even to the completed structure. His works, such as the church of San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane
and the church of Sant Agnese in Agone, still stand today and continue to show his amazing skill and
expertise, and they still show his unrelenting pursuit of perfection. The church of San Carlo alle
Quattro Fontane is Borromini s first independent commission. He received the commission from
Cardinal Francesco Barberini in 1934, but Barberini s initial interest in funding the church had

Before they were decommissioned, the foundation and many of the lower walls were constructed. To
increase the originality of the plan, Borromini disrupted the longitudinal stress drastically. He
extended the transverse arms so that the eye would be led to the left and right and away from the high
altar. The wall area was also changed so that the crossing became an exact octagon. Borromini s chief
contribution was his facade. By the time he resigned, the facade reached cornice level and the dome
was completed as far as the lanterns. When Carlo Rainaldi returned he hollowed out the piers,
providing space for altars with retables and space for oratories. The church of San Carlo and the
church of Sant Agnese have a few similarities, the most obvious one being that both are Roman
churches by Borromini. However, they also started out as a greek cross plan, and both had a lack of
aisles. Because they were churches, they were funded by Vatican officials, namely Cardinal Francesco
Barbernini and Pope Innocent X,

Support Children And Young People
Support children and young people to have positive relationships
1.1 Identify the different relationships children and young people may have
There are many different relationships that children develop as they grow, babies know that they cry to
get attention from their parent for food or just a cuddle this is the beginning of learning to build
relationships. Every child and family are different in how they believe relationships should be made
and who children are allowed to talk to or be around so everyone is different when it comes to who
they trust or get along with. Relationships children and young people may have are: parental, carer,
sibling, family, friendship, emotional, acquaintance and professional.
1.2 Explain the importance of positive relationships for development and wellbeing
The quality of relationships that we as practitioners have with children and young people has a huge
effect on the way in which we can work with them and help them. When children feel comfortable
with us they can separate more easily from their parents, they are more likely to participate in the play
and learning activities if they are secure emotionally. When children have a strong relationship they
are less likely to show unwanted behaviour as we can recognise and meet their needs, children s
language may develop more quickly as they feel confident talking to us. Practitioners can plan more
accurately as they understand children s developmental needs and know their interests and what

Role of Retinal Waves on Three Aspects of Visual System...
Periodic spontaneous activity is found in many parts of the developing central nervous system
including the spinal cord, cortex, hippocampus and retina, and evidence suggests that this activity
could underlie aspects of development such as axon guidance, local circuit formation and
establishment of sensory maps (Feller, 1999). In the retina, this phenomenon has been studied in detail
because its circuitry is stereotypic and its activity can be manipulated easily in development. Before
eye opening, retinal circuits undergo a great deal of maturation and refinement. The immature circuits
spontaneously generate propagating bursts of action potentials called retinal waves. Retinal waves
correlate the firing of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and play a role in establishing and refining circuits
in the visual system, but there is a great deal of controversy about whether waves play an instructive
or a permissive role in neuronal development. The term instructive implies that retinal activity
contains information that affects the formation of synaptic connections, while the term permissive
implies that activity is necessary at some minimum level in order for the refinement to occur. This
review will focus on the role of retinal waves on three aspects of visual system development eye
specific segregation in the thalamus, retinotopic refinement in the superior colliculus, and
establishment of cortical columns and summarize the existing arguments for the role of retinal waves

Development started only after there was a significant developer concession to write down a long term

Chaos Things Fall Apart
As the chaos of the world unfurls, the forces of good must counterbalance this force for without good,
chaos holds no reference to compare it against to make chaos chaotic. This notion holds true for all
forces in the universe as Newton s famous Third Law states that for every action there is an equal and
opposite re action, thus when chaos reigns, good reacts to counterbalance chaos and bring the system
into equilibrium. However, this relationship may not hold true forever as the reaction between chaos
and good creates entropy chaotic destruction that eventually will bring chaos it s inevitable victory
over good. Mankind attempts to create order through societal mores to dictate the chaotic nature of the
world, however, when the falcon flies too far from its nest the falcon falls into the perceived chaos of
the world. When the Europeans reached too far into the heart of darkness of Africa, they attempted to
create order where they perceived to be chaos, however, those who inhabit this so called chaotic land
saw the chaos of the furious European falcons and attempted to protect the good of their land.

and directed Bowling for Columbine in 2002. Moore s purpose is to show how America is fearful of
what the media has shown us. Also Moore shows how no one really knows the answer to his question

The Milky Way Galaxy Essay
Many people who live on Earth are close minded to what is really out there in the universe. They
cannot even begin to fathom the vastness of it and how Earth is just a tiny little speck compared to
everything else out there. From the planets to the stars and out towards the edge of the unknown, we
can only see what science provides us with. From this, we know that we are nothing but a tiny planet
located in a solar system of millions in a galaxy of many more in the universe. A galaxy, also called a
nebula, consists of billions of stars, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter which are all bound to form
a massive cloud in which we live in. Although it cannot be very well explained, dark matter makes up
at least 90% of a galaxy s mass. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once microwave radiation was discovered, studies improved on the Milky Way Galaxy. Its Doppler
Shift can be used to map the motion of gas in it. Also, with radio telescopes, hydrogen gas can now be
traced. When the Hubble Space Telescope was introduced in 1990, that made exploring space so much
easier and more efficient. That s how we discovered so much about our universe including galaxies!
The Milky Way received its name from the milky, white band of stars that go across the celestial
sphere visible from Earth. However, in Greek mythology, it is said that Zeus placed his mortal son,
Heracles on Hera s breast while she was asleep so the baby could breastfeed to become immortal.
When she had awoken to a strange baby feeding off of her, she pushed Heracles away and a stream of
milk sprayed through the night sky forming the Milky Way. It is estimated that about 200 to 400
billion stars are located within the galaxy. The Milky Way is also one of the larger galaxies that have a
circumference of about 300 thousand light years! There are many types and morphologies of galaxies.

Joseph Campbell Hero s Journey
Throughout generations, it seems that a common way for cultures to pass down traditions is through
storytelling. Stories were told for entertainment, history and even for teaching a moral value. No
matter where or when these stories were told they all have one thing in common a hero.
What is the significance of a hero? Most often, heroes are used to convey a culture s ideals and, at the
same time, reveal what problems already exist in this society. Heroes are created as role models for
younger children and to exemplify the difference between right and wrong. Overall, they give us hope
for a positive change and a brighter future. Their wisdom pushes the audience us to think outside of

Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
The Joint Commission focuses on certain goals each year. For patient safety and positive outcomes,
hospitals are required to follow certain standards. National Patient Safety Goals were established in
2002 to help identify areas of concern with patient safety. This group is made up by a panel of experts
including nurses, doctors, pharmacists and many other healthcare professionals. They advise the Joint

and how important it is to still ask questions and have conversation with your patient about the

Goal three by the National Patient Safety Goal for 2014 is to use medicines safely. Many errors occur

My Family Has A Big Influence On The Language
Family ties My family has a big influence on the language I use when I am with them, and even when
I am not. If I do say so myself my family is rather very funny and we all just have a really great since
of humor. A lot of the time we are just joking around or poking fun at one another, in a loving way of
course. The relationship I have with my siblings is very important to me that relationship has really
helped shape my everyday language. Most of the words or phrase I use in the family setting are from
television shows, movies, or just things someone in my house has said before that is now constantly
reoccurring.
Hey Assbutt!! ( Swan Song )
My sister and I really love television, and binge watching shows together. I lot of the time we hear
things that just really stick with us, and we can not help but incorporate them into our daily lives. Hey
assbutt is from the show supernatural, Castel a fallen angel says this to a demon right before he kills
him to save Dean Winchester. In the show they make fun of Castel for saying this, which makes it all
the more funny. I use this when I am greeting my sister sometimes or in a situation were I need her
attention. An example sentence would be something like, Hey assbutt get down here! When I say this
in a setting that is not around my sister people usually do not understand, and some even seem
offended, so I typically keep this term between my sister and I.

Levy is shown in some scenes through Cliff s movie. Prof. Levy basically explains that life is a great
thing, and it s naturally neutral, but humans inflict their feelings onto life, and humans can live life
through making their own decisions and trying to be happy. Prof. Levy says that life is good, morality
is man s creation, and that people should strive to be happy. However, despite these positive ideas, the
professor ends up killing himself, leaving a note saying I ve gone out the window . This is an
incredible moment in the movie, showing that no matter what outlook and ideology a person has on
life, sometimes it can be too much. Prof. Levy killed himself because he understood how simple life
was. You are born, you survive, you live, you die, and that s it. Humans are not simple, we are born
and we survive, yet we seek love and affection, we create bad and good, we create God, we accept
God, we accept morality, we betray morality, we are no longer happy, and then we die. Humans make
life difficult and complex, and I think Woody Allen uses the professor to show this. Prof. Levy knew
this, and so he ended his life because it was the only way to avoid the complexity humans created. His
suicide note is simple and straightforward; the way death is. No matter what a person s belief, no
matter how simple or complex life can be, death is always straightforward. This whole movie

Water Fashion Essay
Water Fashion In this day and age, the metaphorical pastor of American culture no longer preaches
patience. This is due, in part, to our rapid economic development, boosting the U.S. into the fifth stage
of Rostow s model for economic development; the Age of Mass Consumption (this model entails that
a country begins in poverty, introduces varying levels of industry, becomes economically self
sufficient, and, in the final stage, outsources all industry to developing countries). The Age of Mass
Consumption is just as deadly as it sounds, incurring insatiable demand for cheap labor, and therefore
a wasteful popular mindset. And so ensues consumerism, the love child of social media and cheap
manufacturing. Consumerism bears it s own dangerous children, including but not limited to
genetically modified organisms, pesticides, Costco, smartphones, wireless Internet, Netflix, and fast
fashion. The vast majority of Americans will recognize the aforementioned phenomenon of pop
culture, except perhaps fast fashion . For those unfamiliar with this phrase, used by fashion retailers,

Inside The Closet
Skeletons in the Closet
Our first experience of this old English term came about not as secrets in a person s past but in a
house! Over the years, we have lived in a variety of old homes that embody the history of many
families and diverse activities. Among those homes was an old three story English style rooming
house in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan that was owned by the Anglican Theological College of Emmanuel
and St. Chad. Shirley and I had a flat on the third floor with four single girls living above us and a
single eligible theological professor/Priest below us! Not only were the upper floors busy but we also
had a presence living in the basement that from time to time would enter into our community life.
Special care was taken by all of us to ensure we did not have a prankster amongst us so we made sure
to ascertain that the occurrences were confirmed by more than one person and that they had happened
more than one time to different people. Often we would hear the horn on my bicycle give a blast at
different times of the day. Something or someone had to squeeze the rubber bulb to force the air
through the reed on that horn! During a small dinner party hosted by the professor, the pictures on the
wall shifted on their nails, and there was no vibration on the floors from music, dancing, or any kind
of enthusiastic activity! More than one person experienced someone answer a phone call to the

Small And Medium Sized Enterprises
I. Literature Review 1. Introduction Big Data has seen exponential growth in recent years due to the
large volumes of social networking data that is now being produced. While it may be easier for large
enterprises to adopt the use of Big Data it is unclear if many small and medium sized enterprises are
firstly aware of Big Data and its uses and secondly whether it will actually be beneficial to the
business. The project will look at the use, or lack thereof, of Big Data in SMEs and provide a
comparison when looking at larger enterprises. 2. An analysis of Big Data i. The Three Vs So what
exactly is Big Data? This can be a point of contention amongst even those who work with big data all
the time so the description that follows is only one of many. Big Data is best characterised by 3Vs:
volume, variety and velocity. Volume refers to the extreme amounts of data, variety to the varying
types of said data and velocity to the speed at which the data must be processed. Big Data does not
actually refer to a specific quantity of data as many might assume by looking at the term but it is often
used when speaking about massive volumes of data in the range of Exabyte s (Rouse, 2014), most of
which cannot be integrated easily. ii. The additional Vs There can also be a fourth V (Vossen, 2014)
which adds veracity to volume, variety and velocity to give 4V s. Veracity can be viewed to be the
messiness of the data (thinking of things such as Tweets with hash tags, abbreviations, typos, and

Henderson Levee Diversity
Diversity of species along an environmental gradient on the Henderson Levee
Abstract
Habitats that contain an environmental gradient, such as the Henderson Levee, attribute to a diverse
speciation of plants. There are multiple factors that determine the assortment of species along a
disturbance gradient, including competition and the availability of nutrients, water, and light. This
paper focuses on the differences in diversity and composition of species in response to an
environmental gradient. Three parallel transects were measured along the Henderson Levee and the
stems for each species of plants were counted within sampling intervals along those transects.
Statistics were used to calculate diversity and to determine how the species changed along the
gradient. The diversity of plant species was determined to be highest at the top of the levee for
transects 1 and 3 and highest at the bottom of the levee for transect 2.

For wetlands, it has been found that richness and species composition is related to flooding frequency
and seasonal water levels as opposed to the availability of nutrients (2). For floodplain habitats, the
composition of species is related to flooding and the availability of light (2). The arrangement of plant
species can be explained by the number of floods that occur as well as the texture of the soil, with
wetter soil near the canal and moist, dry soil towards the top of the levee (6). In this type of
environment, vegetation generally becomes more abundant going up an elevational gradient from the
canal to the top of the levee (1). It is hypothesized that if a floodplain wetland habitat has an
environmental and elevational gradient, then there is a difference in the diversity of plant species and
richness across that gradient, with a higher species composition and richness at higher

Components Of Building A Gaming Pc
My topic of interest this week is learning about a few components involved in building a gaming PC. I
believe this is a great topic for me as my intended professional goal is to become a video game
developer. Where would a professional game developer, like myself, be without a proper gaming PC.
Plus, I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to share my passion. I have owned many
gaming consoles, PC s, and Mac s over the years. If you are a true gamer, you will already know
which platform is the best for you. Gaming consoles like the PS4 or XBOX ONE, while a great source

They also have the lowest number of developed games between all the platforms. So now I m thinking
why can t I have both a iMac and gaming PC? Well, after doing some research, I think having both
might actually be a strong possibility for me. Now getting into the main portion of my topic why PC is
the best for gaming. First off, PC s use only a GPU, allowing this item to be upgraded while
advancements in technology take place. This, in turn, allows a PC to have full access to incredible
graphics, giving the gamer a higher level gaming experience. There are three primary components that
are the foundations to building a great PC, they are the central processing unit (CPU), also called a
processor, the video card and memory (RAM). (Bellerophon08, 2013) You will find many different
brands and styles, such as an AMD FX 8350 AM3+ 4.0Ghz (CPU) or a Kingston HyperX blu
1600mhz 2x4GB (RAM). They all depend on what suits your individual needs and budget. One of the
most exiting components I get to talk about, is the motherboard. Just like its title this is what brings all
the components together in harmony. One interesting fact I didn t know, but was crucial to the proper
function of a PC, is a motherboard socket type. Seeing as they are not interchangeable, you need to
make sure you know what CPU you are investing in, as you are unable to mix and match a
motherboard and CPU brand. For example, if you

Literary Analysis Of Peter Fischl s Little Polish Boy
Literature encapsulates the human experience, reflecting facets of our culture, traditions, and beliefs.
Literature functions as a tool to develop and explore empathetic links with other individuals and can
provide insight into experiences removed from our own reality. Peter Fischl s poem Little Polish Boy
is one such text in which we can attain a unique understanding of the horrors catalysed by war. An
expression of Fischl s own Holocaust experience, this poem is set in WWII, and addressed as a letter
to an innocent child of the war from a photograph Fischl found years after the war ended. We can also
learn of the loss and grief children face in times of war through the picture book a Soldier, a Dog and a
Boy by Libby Hathorn. The story follows a young boy orphaned by the Battle of Somme and he s only
left to survive with his dog before an Australian soldier comes to his rescue. These texts allow us to
reach a better understanding of the different effects conflict has on children.
As a child, Peter Fischl was subjected to harsh anti Semitic laws, separated from his family, and
sought refuge in southern California years after the end of the war where he stumbled across a
photograph of the little Polish boy. The powerful impact the image had upon him inspired the
composition of the poem four years after the occasion. Fischl conveys feelings of sorrow and regret as
he recalls the inhumanity of society using symbolism, Now will know/What fear is in/the darkness .

Flies Of God Research Paper
The Assemblies of God is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations, with 57 million adherents
worldwide. It was organized in 1914 to promote unity and doctrinal stability among groups that had
been influenced by the Pentecostal revivals of the early 1900s, revivals which were the result of a
desire to see an increase in God s power in churches and individuals. Many people spent long hours in
prayer, seeking a fresh infusion of the Spirit. Following the teachings of Charles Parham, these people
were expecting speaking in tongues as an evidence of the Holy Spirit s baptism. The first popularly
acknowledged revival was at Azusa Street in Los Angeles, 1906 1909. From that movement, several
churches were formed, and in April 1914, meetings were held in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which led to
the formation of the Assemblies of God. Eudorus Bell, formerly a Southern Baptist preacher, was

First-Person Narration In Edgar Allen Poe s The Black Cat
There are different literary elements working together in order to help readers to understand the text.
Each element has its own functions, and it will affect the text specifically. In this essay, I will focus on
the element of narration, narrative voice, and point of view for my critical analysis. Edgar Allen Poe,
Guy de Maupassant, and Dashiell Hammett are the authors that I will discuss. Different authors used
different types of narration in their stories. However, no matter which types of narration, the narrative
techniques among authors increased the attractiveness of their stories. Edgar Allen Poe s narration

The story mainly about the narrator killed someone, and finally caught by police because of the

his murder. Poe writes, If still you think me mad, you will think so no longer when I described the
wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body (Poe 76). The narrator thought he did a good
job on handling the dead body. From the words from the narrator directly, readers could know how
crazy this person was, and feel horrors from what he did. Therefore, the story would become more
interesting to readers because those horrible feelings were the things that readers looking for. The first

Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall
While reading about character, I actually learned a lot of new terms. Those terms were heroine,
antihero, foil, archetypes, and scapegoat. I also learned that there are many different types of
characters. Characters can be flat, round, dynamic, stock, archetypes, and scapegoat. Although I
learned a lot, I also did know most of the reading about character. I do think this is an effective reading
because it explains facts about characters and gives a checklist for evidence to consider in analyzing a
character. I think that picking out the main character is fairly easy because most readings just focus on
one person, but if you do not know, the checklist this reading provided is very helpful.
The Jilting of Granny Weatherall by Katherine Anne Porter
In this reading the main character, Granny, is easy to pick out. Granny is dying but she refuses to
believe that she is actually dying. On her deathbed she is thinking about keeping the house clean and
orderly. She was also thinking about the love letters that she has in the attic from her ex fiancé, John.
Granny did not want her daughter, Cornelia, to find them. Grannys last thought was that she had been
jilted. Honestly, I did not find this story very interesting because I think it was a boring topic. It is sad
that the Granny dies in the end, but how they organized it was boring. They organized it just like a
normal reading would be. I think it could have been more interesting if they organized it a different
way.

power. As Zeus always says, mortals blame us for everything. Oh, and do not get us started on all of
the mortals who come crying or scheming to us. Astyanax was one of those fools. However,
something incredible happened with that mortal: he understood. He understood and sacrificed. We
have never seen anything like it. The heroes that make it to us never get to that point of enlightenment
without their divine cheerleaders shoving it down their throats. We are voting for Astyanax because he
learns from his hubris and other faults. In the end, Astyanax does what is best for his people. Just look
at his choice, he gave up personal glory for the merely the potential glory of his descendants. How
much more selfless could you get in this age where it is always about eternal glory? the

Translating the overall strategy into action
An overall LTD strategy may be valid over a long timeframe, though it may need to be revisited
regularly as circumstances change. It is an overall statement of intent and needs to be given more
detail to give guidance on how it will be implemented and who will translate this intent into practice
The sections below set out some of the questions that need to be asked and the choices that
organisations need to make so that LTD practice achieves its strategic aims. Organisations may set
these policies as a set of organisational rules, or as guidance and communicate them to managers and
staff.
Performance management
LTD activities need to be planned for in the same way as other organisational activities, through the
performance management process. Responsibilities will be allocated to line management and HRD
specialists, targets set, and individual performance measured against achievement. This applies to the
HRD function and to line managers who achieve business targets by, amongst other things, making
sure their teams have the right level of capability. Find out more about the performance management
process in our

Concrete And Concrete Of Concrete
Pretension concrete, also known as prestressed concrete, is one of the methods to give more strength
to the natural weakness of concrete through tension. The way this works is by allowing the tendons to
cure in the concrete. After it has cured the tendons are released and the tension is applied. The analysis
for continuous prestressed composite beam covers: load deflection behavior, strain and stress in
concrete slab and steel beam, force in shear connector, slipping between concrete and steel, and failure
modes. (Ozell) This is why they now connect the I beams with bolts to the vertical beams underneath
the bridge girders, which are normally pretensioned concrete, to ensure the risk of them sidling apart
and the bridge girders falling in. There are many uses for this type of concrete, some of these include
floors, bridges, and beams. When looking for this type of concrete in the CSI divisions it is located
under the precast section number 03 41 33. The specifications go into detail about the standards and
references needed for this type of concrete. For example, there are two grades, 250 and 270, of low
relaxation, seven wire steel strands that are required in this type of concrete work. Some of the
reference documents that go along with this are the ASTM Standards, U.S. Military Standards, and
U.S. Federal Standards. The basic data given for the materials that go into this product include the
dimensions and the amount of weight that can be withstood with that certain

As such, LVMH has steered much of the focus of its central brand eastwards, to an area where
consumers have more disposable income than ever and are ready and willing to embrace the influence
of their Western counterparts China. All the while, the company makes no substitute for quality by
bringing the very same products to the Chinese market, making no concession in pricing, treating the
Chinese market as that of a developed country, where demand for the service provision on offer from
LV is growing faster than anywhere else.
Understanding Consumer Behaviour
Consumer decision making is needs based. Consequently, the process of understanding consumers
does not so much rest on identifying the behavioural patterns of a group and then choosing to pitch a
product to them, but rather on identifying the specific need which is common to certain people and
accordingly striving to satisfy that need (Brady, 2010).
Maslow would classify the specific need of those within LV s target market as one related to esteem ,

  • 2. The Orientation Of Individual And Adlerian Psychology Alfred Adler was originally a physician who later specialized in neurology and psychiatry, especially in treating childhood disorders (Goldenberg Goldenberg, 2013, p. 171). Adler helped found the child guidance movement in the early 1900s (p. 171). When invited by Freud, Adler joined the Vienna Psychoanalytic society, publishing psychoanalytically oriented articles (p. 171). However, Adler began to emphasize the importance of social factors as opposed to Freud s drive theory, diverging from the psychoanalytical theory (p. 171). In 1914, he formed the Society for Individual Psychology. Individual psychology is more concerned with the whole person who has social, purposeful, and developmental determinants (p. 171). In this paper, I will introduce the theorical orientation of individual or Adlerian psychology. This paper will discuss how individual psychology understands human development, the role of cultural factors, the etiology of pathological symptoms/problem areas, and the role of treatment. Human Development According to Frager and Fadiman (2005), Individual psychology defines psychological growth as a matter of moving from self centered goals to mastering environmentally and socially useful development (p. 102). Thus, Adlerians believe that psychological development occurs when humans shift from individual tasks to environmental and social tasks. Adlerians believe that at the age of 7 or 8, most humans develop ideas about their lifestyle that would be fixated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Data Acquisition Case Study 2. Methods 2.1 Data acquisition 2.1.1 Hardware The data acquisition was based on the miPod sensor called inertial magnetic measurement unit containing a MPU9150 chip with a three dimensional accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. The miPod IMMU was manufactured in such a way that it is attached to each skateboard and in a stable condition (see Fig. 2). Video acquisition was done using a GoPro Hero 2 camera. Furthermore, a Vicon MX motion capture system with 16 cameras used for referencing the orientation of the board. For this orientation, six (6) reflective markers were used on each skateboard. The motion capture system and IMMU are synchronized by a light based trigger. Whenever the athlete is in the vicinity, a trigger is sent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, only detected events will be classified. Tricks are found by having high accelerometer at the landing impact after the execution of a trick. First, area of interest is determined by the highest accelerometer readings. Secondly, the gyroscope gets the exact time of landing impact within the previous area of interest. Thirdly, the trick time difference is based on the detected landing impact. An illustration of this is in Fig. 4. The accelerometer signal is analysed by a sample wise processing of data stream. The detected area is based on the highest acceleration signal at landing impact. The sum of accelerometer acquired values will be calculated by the time. And the threshold is set based on athletes, skateboard and ground. If the sum of accelerometer values goes beyond the declared threshold, at that time. The signal will be the area of interest. This means each performed trick can have multiple area of interest due to the landing impact after the trick. However, hard take off, hard kicks on board, more acceleration is measured on each trick could exceed the specified threshold and this leads to more area of interest. Contrary to highest acceleration signal gotten at take off, the gyroscope signal shows the highest change in signal at landing impact. For all previously detected times and derivative of the gyroscope signal will be analysed with the interval {ta 1s] to ta +1s]. therefore, L 1 norm of the gyroscope ... • 4. Comparing Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily... Comparing Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights share similarities in many aspects, perhaps most plainly seen in the plots: just as Clarissa marries Richard rather than Peter Walsh in order to secure a comfortable life for herself, Catherine chooses Edgar Linton over Heathcliff in an attempt to wrest both herself and Heathcliff from the squalid lifestyle of Wuthering Heights. However, these two novels also overlap in thematic elements in that both are concerned with the opposing forces of civilization or order and chaos or madness. The recurring image of the house is an important symbol used to illustrate both authors order versus chaos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first instance of window imagery is deceivingly small and easy to pass over, but upon reflection it creates a certain symmetry by subtly foreshadowing the final window scene. In the very opening section of the book, Clarissa s departure from the house dredges up memories of her time at Bourton, of scenes with Peter Walsh that took place in front of an open window. This memory, brought about by the impact of the early morning air, also reminds her of the solemn feeling this incident gave her standing there at the open window, that something awful was about to happen. Though fleeting and lightly discussed, this emotion placed so close to the beginning of the novel seems to indicate the dangerous nature of an open window, which anticipates both Septimus death and Clarissa s later musings in front of a window. Another small but important window scene takes place after Clarissa returns home to discover that her husband has been invited to Millicent Bruton s lunch party but she has not. After reading the message about the party on a notepad, she begins to retreat upstairs to her private room, a single figure against the appalling night. As she lingers before the open staircase window, she feels her own aging, suddenly shriveled, aged, breastless... out of doors, out of the window, out of her body and brain which now failed... Again, there is a hint of danger as death is portrayed as a somewhat alluring transcendental experience, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Similarities Between Hercules And Hercules The myth of the Greek hero Hercules and the one seen in the Disney movie have a lot of differences, but also some similarities. For example, one difference is in the Disney movie Hercules only performed 7 labors, but in the Greek myth Hercules had to complete 12 labors. However, a similarity is that in both versions Hercules had to endure the hero s journey. There are many other differences and similarities worth mentioning. Zeus fell in love with a Greek woman named Alcmene, and impregnated her. When the wife of Zeus, Hera, found out she tried to prevent the birth of the child. Hera could not stop the birth, and the child was named Hercules, which means glorious gift to Hera in Greek. Hercules was a demi god because of one human parent and one god parent. Hera tried to kill the baby by placing snakes in his crib, butt the child strangled the snakes before they could kill him. Hera wanted to get revenge on Zeus by making Hercules life miserable. Hercules marries Megara later, after having proved himself an excellent warrior and she birthed him two daughters. Hera caused Hercules to go crazy, and he killed his wife and daughters. When Hercules finally came to his senses he was distraught, and went to King Eurypterus and requested punishment. King Eurypterus asked the gods to help him come up with a punishment, and Hera is the one that responded to his request. King Eurypterus told Hercules that the only way to cleanse himself is to complete 12 heroic labors. He added that performing these labors would cause Hercules to become an immortal god with honor restored. Hercules first labor was to kill the Nemean lion. The second labor was to kill the multi headed hydra. The third labor was to capture Cerynitian without wounding it. The fourth labor was to capture an enormous boar. The fifth labor was to clean the stables of King Augeas in a single day. The sixth labor was to kill the stymphalian birds without entering the swamp. The seventh labor tasked Hercules was disposal of the Minotaur. The eighth labor was to bring the mares of Diomedes to King Eurypterus. The ninth labor was to retrieve the belt of the queen Hippolyta. The tenth labor was to capture cattle that belonged to Geryon, a monster. The eleventh ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s the only sort of trap he sets for ensnaring women: he weds them left, right, and centre . . . I d rather serve the devil himself than Don Juan (96 97 Moliere). Moreover, Don Juan speaks of commitment to one woman as bondage or a death sentence. In the story Don Juan was once committed to his Elvira, presently has lost interest in her. Thus, Don Juan says What! Would you restrict a man to staying chained to the first woman who takes his fancy, has him give up everything for her and never look back again? ( 98 Misier). Therefore, Don Juan uses his expansive vocabulary to manipulate and persuade women of any background. Hence Don Juan remains bold in his efforts to steal a woman s affections insomuch he enchants and stirs debate between Charlotte and Mathurine. Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques Issues Among Today s Latent Fingerprint Detection Techniques Zachary Fisher Even with the advanced state of forensic sciences some surfaces and circumstances prove difficult to successfully lift, or even detect, fingerprints from. There are now several methods of enhancing latent fingerprints for collection. These methods use chemicals, light sources and other techniques to enhance latent ridge marks on materials that prove difficult to successfully identify and lift prints from. These surfaces include certain types of metals, porous surfaces, and certain kinds of paper. Electrochromism is a relatively newly discovered method that allows for the capturing of a negative image of a fingerprint on a metal surface. The material poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) is applied to the area that is being searched, once applied a charge is applied to the material that causes a shift in color that allows for the print to be identified with great detail. (Brodie) Curcumin, yellow 3, can be used to develop latent prints that are otherwise difficult to lift useful prints from using other traditional methods, particularly metal and hard plastics. Currently basic violet 3 and solvent black 3 are used but pose issues as solvent black 3 is a carcinogen and must be used in laboratory conditions and basic violet can be difficult to see on many surfaces. Yellow 3 naturally occurs in the popular Indian spice turmeric and is commonly used as a natural food coloring. When used as a reagent in fingerprint collection it targets the non water soluble material with the fingerprint residue, and can be used on dark surfaces in place of solvent black 3 due to its naturally bright color. Two examples of ways research can be collected could be through longitudinal studies or cross sectional studies. There are also two types of experiments that affect how research is conducted. The two types of experiments would include naturalistic observations and laboratory observations. When it comes to longitudinal studies they are based on studying individuals over long periods of time. An example would be people watching. A researcher could go into a mall and record random individuals behavior on paper to make a general observation on how people act in public situations. This is the most whole and unbiased way of conducting information because the subject will not act differently under the pressure of knowing they are being evaluated. Another way to observe a group of people would be in a laboratory setting. This way variables can be manipulated and controlled, however, this may create bias in the subject being observed. It is an unnatural setting where the subject is being observed by researchers and due to this pressure they may act accordingly to what they deem as ideal in the experiment. • 15. Role of Retinal Waves on Three Aspects of Visual System... Periodic spontaneous activity is found in many parts of the developing central nervous system including the spinal cord, cortex, hippocampus and retina, and evidence suggests that this activity could underlie aspects of development such as axon guidance, local circuit formation and establishment of sensory maps (Feller, 1999). In the retina, this phenomenon has been studied in detail because its circuitry is stereotypic and its activity can be manipulated easily in development. Before eye opening, retinal circuits undergo a great deal of maturation and refinement. The immature circuits spontaneously generate propagating bursts of action potentials called retinal waves. Retinal waves correlate the firing of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and play a role in establishing and refining circuits in the visual system, but there is a great deal of controversy about whether waves play an instructive or a permissive role in neuronal development. The term instructive implies that retinal activity contains information that affects the formation of synaptic connections, while the term permissive implies that activity is necessary at some minimum level in order for the refinement to occur. This review will focus on the role of retinal waves on three aspects of visual system development eye specific segregation in the thalamus, retinotopic refinement in the superior colliculus, and establishment of cortical columns and summarize the existing arguments for the role of retinal waves ... Three parallel transects were measured along the Henderson Levee and the stems for each species of plants were counted within sampling intervals along those transects. Statistics were used to calculate diversity and to determine how the species changed along the gradient. The diversity of plant species was determined to be highest at the top of the levee for transects 1 and 3 and highest at the bottom of the levee for transect 2. Introduction The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For wetlands, it has been found that richness and species composition is related to flooding frequency and seasonal water levels as opposed to the availability of nutrients (2). For floodplain habitats, the composition of species is related to flooding and the availability of light (2). The arrangement of plant species can be explained by the number of floods that occur as well as the texture of the soil, with wetter soil near the canal and moist, dry soil towards the top of the levee (6). In this type of environment, vegetation generally becomes more abundant going up an elevational gradient from the canal to the top of the levee (1). It is hypothesized that if a floodplain wetland habitat has an environmental and elevational gradient, then there is a difference in the diversity of plant species and richness across that gradient, with a higher species composition and richness at higher ... • 31. Components Of Building A Gaming Pc My topic of interest this week is learning about a few components involved in building a gaming PC. I believe this is a great topic for me as my intended professional goal is to become a video game developer. Where would a professional game developer, like myself, be without a proper gaming PC. Plus, I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to share my passion. I have owned many gaming consoles, PC s, and Mac s over the years. If you are a true gamer, you will already know which platform is the best for you. Gaming consoles like the PS4 or XBOX ONE, while a great source for gaming entertainment are, cheaper because they do not have a graphics card, instead they have an APU which is the GPU and CPU combined. So now I m thinking why can t I have both a iMac and gaming PC? Well, after doing some research, I think having both might actually be a strong possibility for me. Now getting into the main portion of my topic why PC is the best for gaming. First off, PC s use only a GPU, allowing this item to be upgraded while advancements in technology take place. This, in turn, allows a PC to have full access to incredible graphics, giving the gamer a higher level gaming experience. There are three primary components that are the foundations to building a great PC, they are the central processing unit (CPU), also called a processor, the video card and memory (RAM). (Bellerophon08, 2013) You will find many different brands and styles, such as an AMD FX 8350 AM3+ 4.0Ghz (CPU) or a Kingston HyperX blu 1600mhz 2x4GB (RAM). They all depend on what suits your individual needs and budget. One of the most exiting components I get to talk about, is the motherboard. Just like its title this is what brings all the components together in harmony. One interesting fact I didn t know, but was crucial to the proper function of a PC, is a motherboard socket type. Seeing as they are not interchangeable, you need to make sure you know what CPU you are investing in, as you are unable to mix and match a motherboard and CPU brand. For example, if you ... • 33. Literary Analysis Of Peter Fischl s Little Polish Boy Literature encapsulates the human experience, reflecting facets of our culture, traditions, and beliefs. Literature functions as a tool to develop and explore empathetic links with other individuals and can provide insight into experiences removed from our own reality. Peter Fischl s poem Little Polish Boy is one such text in which we can attain a unique understanding of the horrors catalysed by war. An expression of Fischl s own Holocaust experience, this poem is set in WWII, and addressed as a letter to an innocent child of the war from a photograph Fischl found years after the war ended. We can also learn of the loss and grief children face in times of war through the picture book a Soldier, a Dog and a Boy by Libby Hathorn. The story follows a young boy orphaned by the Battle of Somme and he s only left to survive with his dog before an Australian soldier comes to his rescue. These texts allow us to reach a better understanding of the different effects conflict has on children. As a child, Peter Fischl was subjected to harsh anti Semitic laws, separated from his family, and sought refuge in southern California years after the end of the war where he stumbled across a photograph of the little Polish boy. The powerful impact the image had upon him inspired the composition of the poem four years after the occasion. Fischl conveys feelings of sorrow and regret as he recalls the inhumanity of society using symbolism, Now will know/What fear is in/the darkness . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Flies Of God Research Paper The Assemblies of God is one of the largest Pentecostal denominations, with 57 million adherents worldwide. It was organized in 1914 to promote unity and doctrinal stability among groups that had been influenced by the Pentecostal revivals of the early 1900s, revivals which were the result of a desire to see an increase in God s power in churches and individuals. Many people spent long hours in prayer, seeking a fresh infusion of the Spirit. Following the teachings of Charles Parham, these people were expecting speaking in tongues as an evidence of the Holy Spirit s baptism. The first popularly acknowledged revival was at Azusa Street in Los Angeles, 1906 1909. From that movement, several churches were formed, and in April 1914, meetings were held in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which led to the formation of the Assemblies of God. Eudorus Bell, formerly a Southern Baptist preacher, was appointed as the first chairman of the denomination. The origin of the Assemblies of God church is 1988. • 37. Analysis Of The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall While reading about character, I actually learned a lot of new terms. Those terms were heroine, antihero, foil, archetypes, and scapegoat. I also learned that there are many different types of characters. Characters can be flat, round, dynamic, stock, archetypes, and scapegoat. Although I learned a lot, I also did know most of the reading about character. I do think this is an effective reading because it explains facts about characters and gives a checklist for evidence to consider in analyzing a character. I think that picking out the main character is fairly easy because most readings just focus on one person, but if you do not know, the checklist this reading provided is very helpful. The Jilting of Granny Weatherall by Katherine Anne Porter In this reading the main character, Granny, is easy to pick out. Granny is dying but she refuses to believe that she is actually dying. On her deathbed she is thinking about keeping the house clean and orderly. She was also thinking about the love letters that she has in the attic from her ex fiancé, John. Granny did not want her daughter, Cornelia, to find them. Grannys last thought was that she had been jilted. Honestly, I did not find this story very interesting because I think it was a boring topic. It is sad that the Granny dies in the end, but how they organized it was boring. They organized it just like a normal reading would be. I think it could have been more interesting if they organized it a different way. Miss Brill ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Concrete And Concrete Of Concrete Pretension concrete, also known as prestressed concrete, is one of the methods to give more strength to the natural weakness of concrete through tension. The way this works is by allowing the tendons to cure in the concrete. After it has cured the tendons are released and the tension is applied. The analysis for continuous prestressed composite beam covers: load deflection behavior, strain and stress in concrete slab and steel beam, force in shear connector, slipping between concrete and steel, and failure modes.
