Christo and Jeanne Claude. The location of this barricade was in Rue Visconti, Paris, between
Rue Bonaparte and Rue de Seine. Rue Visconti is a one way street that is 140 meters long and 3
meters wide. They used oil barrels and put them up on June 27, 1962. Christo and Jeanne Claude
worked together on the barricade, taking a total of eight hours to get it all done. The iron/steel
oil barrels were stacked on top of each other, forming a wall/barricade of some sort. Christo and
Jeanne Claude left all the barrels exactly they way were, they didn t even change the colors of

Poetry in the purest form comes from an author that is writing from his or her own life
experiences and Robert Frost did just that. In three words I can sum up everything I ve learned
about life: it goes on. Frost uttered these words in remark to how he coped with his troubled life. He
dealt with heaps of loss throughout his lifetime which led to him expressing his innermost thoughts
and feelings through poetry. Robert Frosts poetry was influenced by his depression that came from

son died at the age of four to an illness, his second born committed suicide at the age of thirty

childbirth. He went on to also lose his wife to heart attack in 1938 and he was forced to commit

A Comparison of Two Men s Weekly Magazines
January saw two publishing giants IPC and EMAP venture into the no man s land of the
magazine industry with the publication of two Men s weekly magazines, intelligently titled Nuts
(published by IPC) and Zoo (EMAP). Weekly magazines have traditionally been seen as a
women s arena, they are too girly with titles such as Chat and Heat being incredibly successful
publications for the above two companies. It was felt that with tabloid newspapers such as The
Sun, The Star and The Daily Sport there was no market for a men s weekly magazine despite the
surprise runaway success of the monthlies like FHM, Maxim and Loaded in the 1990s.

Perhaps then, despite the initial scepticism of industry insiders, the popularity of these two
magazines signify that men really do have a weekly appetite for beer, breasts and footie . Or
more cynically as Rick Poynor, writing for eyemagazine, put it If these products then sell, is it
because this really is what men want? Or because the evolving conventions of the global market
place have engineered public taste to respond to this rubbish? Whether they are rubbish or not;
circulation is rising and although Nuts is winning the circulation game at present both magazines
are incredible similar.
In the 23 31 March issue Nuts promises to tell us why Jennifer Ellison!! is Britain s hottest
footie fan! (The answer may lie in the fact that she poses topless) as well as a free magazine
containing semi naked 50 sexiest footballers wives 2005 . Zoo depicts a bikini clad Blimey, I
say blimey, its Nikki Sanderson! (who surprisingly does not appear topless) and the 12 Hottest
Hollyoaks babes ever! (Who do). Both magazines are dominated by a mixture of scantily clad
women and football stories, of which Zoo has 18 and Nuts has 11. Both include fairly gruesome
main features; Nuts discusses Mafia punishments with gory pictures including someone lying in a
pool of blood with the caption A victim of the Mafia s enforcers . Zoo runs a story on Killer

Dorothy Allison s Panacea
In Dorothy Allison s essay, Panacea, she effectively conveys the importance of preparing a
gravy, which ensures the dominant impression of safety and comfort necessary for mothers to
display to their children. Dorothy Allison, well known author and essayist, begins her essay by
discussing how she remembers her mother s gravy and the process of making it, including the
pounding of the meat in order to flatten it out. She adds pathos by saying gravy is the most
memory laden dish she has learned how to cook and the comfort it brings. Instead of calling it
country fried steak as others normally do, Allison s mother calls the savory dish cube steak, a more
