This unit plan focuses on holidays celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries. The students range in age from 11-14, with 13 girls and 9 boys, two of whom have ADHD. The main objective is for students to identify and describe three aspects of the celebrations of five holidays covered in class. Evaluation will be in the form of discussion and a quiz. Each day of the week is dedicated to a different part of the project: researching holidays on Monday and Tuesday, presentations from Wednesday to Thursday, and a discussion/review on Friday. Students will work in groups using technology like PowerPoint to research and present their assigned holiday to the class.
