This assignment brief requires the student to complete two tasks:
1. Produce a glossary of terms related to sound design and production methodology, formats, recording systems and sampling. Definitions must be referenced and connected to the student's own production practice.
2. Produce original sound samples and musical compositions for five game genres using computer plugins and manipulated recordings. Samples must be uploaded to SoundCloud and embedded in a blog post.
The purpose is for the student to demonstrate understanding of sound design principles and industry practice by creating a sample library. The assignment aims to assess the student's ability to create sound assets for games and apply them following conventions, with grading criteria mapping their work to industry standards.
