Agreement of subjects and verbs
เป็ น ข้ อ ตกลงระหว่ า งประธาน (subject) และกริ ย า (verbs)
โดยต้องใช้กริยาให้สอดคล้องกับประธาน ซึ่งโดยหลักทั่วไปจะยึดถือ
ว่าประธานเอกพจน์ กริยาต้องเป็นเอกพจน์ ประธานเป็นพหูพจน์ กริยา
ต้องเป็นพหูพจน์ โดยยึดหลัก ดังนี้
1. ใช้ “am” กับประธาน “I” ใช้ “is” กับประธานเอกพจน์บุรุษที่

The girl is beautiful.
I am in a hurry.
One of them is Miss Universe.
He is an engineer.
The dog is lovely.
2. ใช้ “are” กับประธานพหูพจน์และ “you”
We are children.
Jane and Jack are singers.
The buffaloes are in the field.
You are my best friend.
3. ใช้ “has” และ “does” กับประธานเอกพจน์
He has a new car.
A cat has four legs.
Jane doesn’t like ice-cream.
Pichai does his work by himself.
4. ใช้ “have” และ “do” กั บ ประธานพหู พ จน์ รวมทั้ ง “you”
และ “I”
The children have new toys called Beasr Wars.
You have two daughters.
I don’t like know that girl.
We do not play football but we play basketball.
5. ประธานเอกพจน์บุรุษที่ 3 he, she, it, Ladda, Somchai,
A dog, An elephant... ใน Present simple tense กริยาแท้ตาม
หลังจะต้องเติม “s” หรือ “es” เสมอ
Ladda sleeps in bed.
He hits the volleyball by his two arms
6. ประธานพหู พ จน์ they, we, you, Jim and Lorra และ
ประธานเอกพจน์ บุ รุ ษ ที่ 1, 2 (you, I) กริ ย าแท้ ที่ ต ามหลั ง จะไม่ เ ติ ม
“s” หรือ “es”

2. Ladda and Jack study at the same class.
You cook a delicious breakfast.
I like fried chicken very much.
7. ประธาน 2 ตัว เชื่อมด้วย “and” ให้ความหมายเป็นคนละคน
ใช้กริยาพหูพจน์ แต่ถ้ามีความหมายเป็นคำาเดียวกัน ทำา 2 หน้าที่ หรือ
คำานามรวมเป็นหน่วยเดียวกัน กริยาจะต้องเป็นเอกพจน์
The director and the manager at this office
aren’t here.
The director and the manager at talks to his
friend.
Curry and rice is popular food in Thailand.
8. คำานามรูปพหูพ จน์เหล่านี้ jeans, trousers, shorts,
pyjamas, tights, scissirs, glasses, spectacles, shoes,
socks, gloves, plants มีค่าเป็นพหูพ จน์เสมอ กริยาจะเป็นรูป
พหูพ จน์
Your gloves aren’t white enough.
His pyjamas have been torn.
My spectacles are broken.
9. คำานามรูปเอกพจน์เหล่านี้ police, people, team,
group, government, audience มีค่าเป็นพหูพ จน์ กริยาจะเป็น
รูปพหูพ จน์
The police work very hard.
Out team play badly.
10. คำานามรูปพหูพ จน์เหล่านี้ news, mathematics,
physics, athletics, economics มีค่าเป็นเอกพจน์ ใช้กริยา
เอกพจน์เสมอ
Athletics is a kind of sport.
That news makes him sad.
Mathematics is my favorite subject.
11. คำานามบางคำาเป็นได้ทั้งเอกพจน์ และพหูพจน์ กริยาจะใช้
ให้สอดคล้องกับค่าของคำานาม
means a means of life many
means of life
A means of life is up to man.
12. คำา นามเหกล่ า นี้ มี ค่ าเป็ น เ อ ก พ จ น์ เ สมอ จำา นวนเงิ น , ระยะ
ทาง, ระยะเวลา ใช้กับกริยาเอกพจน์เสมอ
Three hundred baht is move value for the poor.
Ten kilometers is a short diatance to go by car.

3. Two years is a very long time to live without
her love.
13. ประธาน 2 ตั ว เชื่ อ มด้ ว ย with, together with, and
not, but not, like, as well, no less than, including, in
addition to กริยาจะตามประธานตัวหน้า ถ้า ประธาน ตัว หน้า เป็น
พ หู พ จ น์ ก ริ ย า ข อ ง ป ร ะ โ ย ค ก็ จ ะ เ ป็ น พ หู พ จ น์ ถ้ า ป ร ะ ธ า น ตั ว
หน้า เป็น เอกพจน์ กริย าของประโยคก็เ ป็น เอกพจน์
Flowers including nice smell are freshy.
Mother with her sons is playing
dabminton.
14. ประธาน 2 ตั ว เชื่ อ มด้ ว ย not only ...but (also) , or,
neither...nor กริย าจะตามประธานตัว ที่อ ยู่ใ กล้ก ริย ามากที่ส ุด
โดยถ้า เป็น ประโยคบอกเล่า จะตามประธานตัว หลัง แต่ถ ้า เป็น
ประโยคคำา ถามจะตามประธานตัว หน้า
Neither Dang nor his friend have gone home.
Are my brothers or my father leaving for
Phuket this afternoon?
15. ประธานบอกเล่ า และประธานปฏิ เ สธในประโยคเดี ย วกั น
กริยาจะตามประธานบอกเล่า
He, not they is a teacher.
Not riches, but honour makes the man.
16. ประธานที่เป็นปฏิเสธทั้ง 2 ตัว กริยาจะตามประธานตัวที่อยู่
ใกล้สุด
No money and no friends were waiting for me.
17. คำานามเอกพจน์ที่ตามหลัง some of, half of, most of,
all of, none of กริย าจะเป็ น เอกพจน์ แต่ ถ้าเป็ นคำา พหู พ จน์ ต ามมา
กริยาจะเป็นพหูพจน์
One half of the cake is stored in the freezer.
Some of the books are borrowed.
18. Only one of the + คำา นามพหู พ จน์ + that, which,
who + กริยาเอกพจน์
Jane is the only one of the actresses who
donates for the orphan.
19. One of the + คำา นามพหู พ จน์ + taht, which, who +
กริยาพหูพจน์
Pattaya is one of the places that are damaged by people.

Agreemant of verbs and tenses
กริยา (verbs) ในภาษาอังกฤษจะเป็นตัวกำาหนดเวลา (tenses)
แสดงให้ ท ราบว่ า ประโยคนั้ น เกิ ด ขึ้ น ในเวลาใด โดยมี ก ริ ย าเป็ น ตั ว
เปลี่ ย นรู ป ให้ ส อดคล้ อ งกั บ เวลาของประโยค ซึ่ ง แบ่ ง ได้ 3 เวลา
(tenses) ใหญ่ ๆ ดังนี้
1. Present tense (ปัจจุบันกาล)
2. Past tense (อดีตกาล)
3. Future tense (อนาคตกาล)
Present tense (ปัจ จุบ ัน กาล)
ประโยคที่ใช้รูป present tense (ปัจจุบันกาล) เป็นประโยคซึ่ง
บอกว่าการกระทำานั้นเกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน จะใช้กริยาช่องที่ 1 (verb 1)
กับประธานของประโยค ดังนี้
Subject + Verb 1
She goes shopping every Saturday.
I am drinking a cup of coffee.
They have finished their work.
We dance.
Past tense (อดีต กาล)
ประโยคที่ ใ ช้ รู ป past tense (อดี ต กาล) เป็ น ประโยคซึ่ ง บอก
ว่าการกระทำานั้นเกิดขึ้นในอดีต จะใช้รูปกริยาช่องที่ 2 (Verb 2) กับ
ประธานของประโยค ดังนี้
Subject + Verb 2
She went shopping last Saturday.
I was drinking a cup of coffee.
They had finished their work.
We danced.
Future tense (อนาคตกาล )
ประโยคที่ ใ ช้ รู ป future tense (อนาคตกาล) เป็ น ประโยคซึ่ ง
บอกว่าการกระทำานั้นจะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต จะใช้กริยาช่วย will และ
ตามมาด้วยกริยาช่องที่ 1 (Verb 1) ดังนี้
Subject + Will + Verb 1
She will go shopping last Saturday.

5. I will be drinking a cup of coffee.
They will have finished their work.
We will danced.
