Unit 2 Task 1
Brief
 The Zed Studios asked me to make a short horror
film with the title ‘The Devil’s Background’ which
needs to be set on a Halloween night which to
give out a message to the teenagers between 14-
16 that what can be happening to them when
they go out in the Halloween night .
 The target audience are the teenagers between
14-16 because I am the same age and I can
understand better and think like them.
 The short film must to be between five to seven
minutes therefore it doesn’t bore the teenagers
and it does the opposite which interest them.
Target audience
 The target audience are the teenagers my age
which is between the age fourteen and sixteen
teenagers. As we are the same age we can
understand better, like them.
 The teenagers are the primary audience
because they are targeted and you want to give
a message to them.
 The secondary audience are the adults with the
age of eighteen plus because they may are a
big fans of horror films.
Purpose of the product
 The purpose of the product is to show a message
to the target audience. The message of the this
short horror film is the safety of teenagers around
strangers, showing what can happened when you
are outside, in a night of Halloween .
 We have to show this message because a lot of
teenagers go out with their friends in the night of
Halloween and they don’t come back because
they may be kidnap or even killed.
Platform for distribution and
consumption
 As is a short horror film, the film is going to be
distributed by online streaming and YouTube. The
film is not going to be distributed via DVD, Blu-Ray
or in Cinema because people are not going to pay
money to see a 5 to 7 minutes film.
 I believe that the target audience is going to
consume the media text individual because is a short
film that you can find on YouTube therefore you are
going to watch it alone
